Experiencia fantástica: I took my senior French Bulldog, Romeo, to see Dr. Camille Black at Caring Hearts Animal Hospital in Gilbert today. She was incredibly attentive and helpful with Romeo, taking the time to thoroughly educate me about his condition. She’ll be performing surgery on him, and I feel very comfortable and confident with her expertise. You can really tell when a veterinarian genuinely cares about your pet, and Dr. Camille absolutely does. Highly recommend!

Dr. Montes was also the only one of 4 vets (others not at Caring Hearts) that diagnosed one of my cats with asthma, which was what I suspected. Thank you, Caring Hearts, for truly showing you care about our pets!

Experiencia positiva: Dr Shaefer is phenomenal, she saved my dogs life when a different vet gave a wrong diagnosis and suggested we put her down. Plus she was really kind and helpful since during all of this I had just had spinal surgery and was severely restricted on lifting and movement. A few years ago she also helped my roommates cat who was given an improper medication dose that was damaging his organs, she corrected that and gave us more time with him. Plus the staff is fantastic, they always remember us and are super kind. Thank you from us and Tank! (Only 4 stars bc the vet that misdiagnosed my dog also works there)

Experiencia negativa: **Update: when I asked for a refund or credit for this visit, they replied stating they won’t issue a refund because I had left a negative review online. Is that even legal?** Never had an issue with any doctors or staff throughout my 3 years of going here, but the appointment today was a disappointment. Dr Montes did not address my concerns and didn’t listen to anything I had to say, and was overall really condescending. Great clinic besides the fact that they hired that guy.

Experiencia negativa: Dr Montez was extremely rude. I came in to get my 13-year-old cat checked for an ear infection, and instead of talking about her ears he immediately lectured me on the weight of my cat. My cat has been on prescription diet food from the vet for 3 years and I have done everything they asked of me, with no results. So I asked if we can have her tested for a thyroid problem or other underlying issue, and he refused and just kept saying “no, you feed her too much” and lecturing me on cat diets. I have never been so irritated with a vet visit in my life. He didn’t seem to care about her ears, which is what I came there for in the first place.

Experiencia positiva: Dr Schafer is wonderful. However, the office staff worker named Vanessa I find to be rude. I tried several times to call and reschedule my pets appointment the day before, as I was sick myself. Google said they were open for their regular hours and would close at 6 pm on a Friday. The message at 3 pm said it was after hours and I could leave one of the Drs a medical message or leave a vet tech message. No other options were given for messages to the office. I called the next day, the day of the original appointment explaining I was sick myself and could not come in and was told by Vanessa it was too late to reschedule without leaving a mandatory 50.00 deposit for the new appointment day. I explained that I had tried to call the day before. She was able to look it up and see I was sent text messages the day before saying " sorry we missed your call" and admitted that the hours for that particular day for the posted hours on Google were incorrect and they had closed early that particular Friday. I said it didn't seem fair to require an upfront deposit since I could not have possibly known they were going to close early that day and their posted hours said open til 6 pm that day, and that I did try to call. She began to talk over me as I was speaking and remained inflexible. She said I should have sent a text or email. I said the recording they had on did not list those as options. I wouldn't even know a number to text as most business phones don't have texting capability. She was supposed to send me a link to the phone number I called from via text to make the 50.00 deposit for the rescheduled visit, and after 15 min had gone by I called back to tell her I had not received it and she didn't remember who I was or the conversation. I reminded her and she said " riigghht...." And sent the text at that time. Then the link didn't work and kept saying there was an error. I called back and she took my card info over the phone, but I was not comfortable with it especially since she didn't recall our conversation from 15 min prior but I had no other option if I wanted my dog to be seen. I don't think I should have had to leave a deposit since their posted hours for the day before was incorrect and Vanessa was able to check and did see that I had tried to call. She was very rude and could use a class in phone etiquette so she doesn't talk over people.

Experiencia fantástica: My family and I have been taking our family pets here since the early 2000s and they’ve always been great, but now that I am an adult with my own kitten I’m even more grateful for their kindness and enthusiasm for animals! They really care about the wellbeing of all animals and are great at explaining everything. Over the years we have also had to put some of our 16-18 year old pets to sleep and they were very comforting through the hard times too.

Experiencia negativa: I have been taking all of my animals to caring hearts for over 20 years. Since dr. Schleppi’s daughter took over, the office staff is very unprofessional. I had an issue with one of the doctors there at the clinic, talk to Tanaya the office manager, who promised me she would have the doctor call me to discuss the matter further however it’s been a month with no callback. I have since found another veterinarian office a bit further away but well worth it due to the care that my dog is now getting as compared to Caring Hearts lately. Up until a few months ago I was very happy with Caring Hearts however since Dr. Sleppy‘s leaving the company to his daughter, the office has gone downhill.I know several friends of mine that have switched vets due to same unprofessional reasons and caring for their animals. They should change their name from Caring Hearts too. We’re just a Vet Office. As they really do not care any longer for your pet.

The vet tech who assisted us was very patient and understanding as I explained what was going on with my fur baby. Dr Black was very friendly, knowledgeable and took the time to explain what the next steps would be with my dog. I would recommend this vet to anyone who is looking for a caring, compassionate and competent place to take their animal for care.

Definitely gave her amazing care and kept me updated throughout the process! Even kept me updated on any additional costs in the process so the end bill wasn't a surprise.

Experiencia negativa: I brought my dog here the end on March with a UTI. After opting in for the $300 targeted antibiotic urinalysis test we got her some targeted meds. 5 months later and urinalysis after urinalysis we are in the exact same spot we were 5 months ago. Now they want to do the $300 targeted antibiotic test again. Hard pass, if we need to start over I'll do that elsewhere since no one here seems to know what's going on or how to treat this. They just kept telling me she STILL has blood and bacteria in her urine. Went to a different vet and on the first appointment with a simple x-ray they discovered she has bladder stones. They have been cutting the inside of her bladder and that's where the blood and infection is coming from. I should have trusted my gut a few urinalysis tests ago that this place is only out for your money. Doctor Omar Montes is impossible to get on the phone, I put a text request in for him to call my husband 2.5 weeks ago... still nothing. Seems like everything is done via text now, they don't explain anything and don't give you the opportunity to ask questions. I had to request her labs and Google everything to get any answers.

Experiencia fantástica: After 22 years living in Arizona, many personal dogs and over 40+ foster dogs I can say this is hands down the best vet clinic, staff, and vet team I have ever been to. Dr. Schafer and her team did a dental with 13 extractions on my foster dog and a dental with 28 extractions on my personal dog. Both dogs were seniors with underlying health issues. Both came home feeling good, alert and both ate their soft food and took their pills. My foster recovered with no issues and my personal dog just had her dental today and I have no doubt she will do just as amazing. This is my personal dog at pick up and the next morning enjoying some time at the dog park.

I started coming here with my rescue based on positive reviews and convenience, but connecting with Dr. Schaffer was a true blessing. My dog has had many health complications and Dr. Schaffer has helped immensely, always trying to find the best and most cost effective options for us. She goes above and beyond, and her staff is so friendly. I can tell they truly love my pup and I would recommend this vet to anyone without hesitation. I will miss them very much when I move to New England!

Experiencia negativa: Double billed for my dogs, receptionist told me I needed to talk to the doctor about billing, gave one of my dogs all of their vaccines but not my other dog. Claims I declined to give one dog their shots and not the other. Over billed me, charged me for a technician appointment, which is the same as a doctor's appointment. Front office is very rude. If I could give zero stars I would.

They have worked miracles in my daughter's dog's allergies and skin conditions. They help us care for our animals and within the financial resources we have to work with.

We just had Roxy in for a emergency vet appointment with one of her eyes because one of her eyes was not looking right and they were able to fit in this morning because Dr. Omar Montez had a cancellation because one of his appointments did not show And we really appreciate Dr. Montez and the medical assistant Mary who helped us with Roxy‘s eye they have treated it. It’s starting to look better and we would highly recommend this vet. Two people who are looking for vets. They are really kind, caring and sweet and they take really good care of our animals.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been bringing my pets to Caring Hearts Animal Clinic for 20+ years and I always recommend them to anyone that asks. The entire staff is kind and caring and they go above and beyond to help. While all of the doctors there are great, Dr Schafer is truly one of a kind. She has been with me through many ups and downs with my fur kids over the years and she has always demonstrated nothing but kindness, professionalism, and compassion. I have so many positive stories I could tell from my many visits there but my most recent one was regarding a stray kitty I found that had a giant abscess on the side of his face that was causing a lot of pain and he wasn't eating or drinking. They were able to get him seen quickly and provide him the relief and treatment he so desperately needed. Dr. Schafer took wonderful care of the kitty while he was there and was very thorough in her exam and explaining everything to me. From my initial contact with the front desk staff (Vanessa who was so understanding and helped me get an appointment for him right away), to the interaction with the vet tech (I'm so sorry I didn't get her name!) who really took the time to listen to my concerns and took notes of everything I told her about the kitty, all the way to the check out process (with Maddy who was so friendly and helpful), it was such a positive experience. Caring Hearts Animal Clinic has such a wonderful staff that provides great service and care to their clients and their fur kids.

Experiencia negativa: I took my maltipoo in for an exam because his eye was red and walked out with allergy drops for $218. The exam took about 10 minutes but I was charged for a stain and a test for glaucoma and anesthesia and drops. I feel it was exorbitant and anesthesia really? That's why so many animal owners don't take their pets in on a regular basis.

Very unprofessional front staff, didn’t catch her name but it was at 10:20 am whichever lady works then. It’s very obvious places like this take advantage of very loving dog owners who don’t care of pricing…

Experiencia negativa: UPDATE: They terminated my service immediately after leaving the office!! 1 Star because the actual service provided is great, but communication with pricing seems to be an ongoing problem and this matter was handled very unprofessionally. I brought my Pom in last Sept when she broke her left arm. We had some communication issues over the phone about how much a bandage change would be. I was quoted $15, but it was actually $50. After requesting the office manager listen to the call, I was informed that it was an error on their side and they apologized but offered no compensation. Second time around, she broke her right leg this past February. I had already been thru this and knew about the costs involved for regular checkups. I continued to pay over $250 at a time to use my care credit to receive 6 months 0% financing. During our 2nd to last appointment, I asked Dr Black if I needed to prepay for anything for next week when she was expected to get her splint off. The answer was No. So I used another card that did not offer me any financing deals. After our final appointment, I was given a total which included a follow up X-ray and an exam fee (which I specially asked about the prior week). When I question these charges, I was told that Dr Black misunderstood and was only referring to not having to prepay for another bandage change. The technician informed me that services were already rendered and these are my charges. While I'm explaining my frustration, the front office staff tells me that since they are not meeting my standards, there are other offices that can help me. I felt like this was completely unprofessional and explained that since we've already had issues with payment in the past, I should be given the charges ahead of time like I have been this entire process, but for some reason today was a big misunderstanding and it only hurts me, the customer, and nobody else seems to care. I hope I never have to go back after this.

No rush and get to exit thru a peaceful garden setting not thru lobby. Thank you Dr Black and the staff for helping us thru Molly's last moments.

The Drs are attentive, understanding, sensitive and respectful. Everytime we bring our dogs in they do not have anxiety based on how well they are treated. We enjoy brining them there even when the situations are tough as we trust them fully to take care of both our dogs and us. Shout out to Kylie for being a wonderful help!

Experiencia fantástica: This place runs pre covid which I love so you don't have to sit in the car and can be in the room with your pet while they are treating them. The vet and staff were all very nice every time I've gone so far.. prices are reasonable also! $40 office visit and $100 if it's urgent. They were the only place that took her same day so the other places were 2 weeks out or more. My cat cricket got into something and they helped her be ok;)

Experiencia fantástica: We brought my daughters dog into caring hearts. Receptionist were so nice, greeted us with a sincere Hello. When we went to exam room, we explained what was going on with Lavendar. And the asst. New just what to do. She took Lavie to the back and the dr. Examined her without us, because lavie has bad aniexty, and she has been screaming. We thought hips but dr said knee caps. So he had to put her under to exam her. Yes that was it. So sent home pain meds and aniexty pills. They clipped her nails too! So now see if she is in pain or if she screams it is the aniexty of the knee caps slipping. To have knee caps replaced is $4000. Per leg. We will just make her as comfortable as we can. Don't really have money for exam let alone surgery.

Experiencia fantástica: Brought my GSD for a sedated nail trim. JOCELYN was absolutely amazing! Her caring demeanor and sweet personality helped my dog to be calm and she did a fantastic job trimming his nails.

Experiencia negativa: Common side effects of Convenia injection includes vomiting, depression/lethargy and loss of appetite in cats; rare adverse effects included hypersensitivity reactions (acute allergy) with some resulting in death. May 19, 2013 I would think three times b4 I go ahead with this injection or you pay a big price!! It must be removed from the market! Our cat was a sweet heart, lots of love and affection, she was 18 and was walking and jumping up and down from exam table to the floor. The reason being at the vet on 10/4/24 was a little swell on the right side of her mouth, so Dr Black visited her did a Comp. Panel + T4 blood work and .3 ml injection of Convenia, She wanted to give her medication the next day after the lab work results. Next day at 2 pm she said her blood work seems good except lack of Potassium so she gave us Naraquin caps plus Potassium Gel. At 4pm we tried to mix a cap with some canned food, she licked didn’t eat much, the same went for the Gel. We tried to feed her again at night 10pm with no medicine but still wouldn’t eat at all so we thought may be she’ll be hungry in the morning ( Sunday now) and banging her air tag on hard floor woke me up, I saw a lot of vomiting on the floor and she couldn’t even sit, struggling to walk like paralyze, so we took her to AVeccc emegency. They did again full blood work +IV and Oxigen! Doctor said she is in Septic shock because she was on low heart beat, low blood pressure and low temp.After a couple of hours not much improvement and they wanted to euthanize her. We took her home and the next day she couldn’t breath, her mouth open and struggling so we had to most unfortunately euthanize her. It broke our heart very much! The problem was that injection and I read a few more complaints ending death having the same injection. This is extremely serious and it can happen with a lot of cats!! So I’m externally angry with Dr Black for the injection!!!! The worst vet experience we’ve ever had!!!

Experiencia positiva: My cat went for her yearly checkup. Everyone is super friendly and it’s reasonably priced in comparison to other vets. My only complaint is I wish the exam and shots were given in the exam room so I can see everything that happens. Otherwise great!

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my 12 year old dachshund with an assessed tooth in for an appointment when I had a bad experience with another vet who wanted a fortune for an extraction. Caring hearts was not only comforting but they were very reasonably priced and got my Stanley in right away. They cared about my pet and not about the dollar. But was called back right away and I e en received a text! I was able to get Stoney in that same day. Dr Omar Montes is wonderful and very patient. The Assistant who helped with his vitals was awesome and she was very sweet and patient with him. Bailegi at checkout was great too! Well there at Caring Hearts, everyone is very nice. Experiencia fantástica: My Veterinarian of 24 years recently retired. I tried calling Caring Hearts for an emergency appointment. As a new patient I appreciated the caring voice of the receptionist Delaney, trying her best to get us an appointment asap. Diagnosed 2 years ago with feline CKD, I suspected that my Piper had developed an infection and needed urgent care. Dr Montes was very friendly and professional. After reviewing her records, and aware of her condition, he explained what to expect in the future with the late stage progression of feline CKD.

Experiencia fantástica: Can’t rave enough about this place! It’s the gem of vets in the Mesa/Gilbert area. We have had several pets over the years that we have brought to Caring Hearts! We’ve always had Dr. Hayley Schafer as our preferred veterinarian. She always takes her time and is very detailed in her examinations. We brought our new puppy in for her first exam, vaccinations and spay consultation. She found that she had an umbilical hernia and a mild skin infection that went undetected by myself. We brought her in for a spay today and she was able to repair her hernia at the same time. Which saved us money and an additional surgery. The front and back office team treat your pets like one of their own and you can tell that they truly care about them.

Experiencia fantástica: Our Veterinarian Hayley Schafer was awesome!! Our female labrador retriever had a lump in her stomach area. Hayley confirmed that it was a fatty lypoma. Not a big deal unless it starts growing alot bigger. She was very thorough and answered all our questions. I'm so glad caring hearts was recommended to us by a friend of mine.

Experiencia negativa: Our dog went into Caring Hearts for an urgent care visit because he was having trouble walking and he was losing his balance. The staff were all very pleasant. We had a comprehensive bloodwork panel and X-rays done. The vet came back and told us our dog had 2 herniated discs in his neck. He gave us a prescription for prednisone and sent us on our way with no aftercare instructions or handouts except for the prednisone dosing schedule. He said hopefully he will start feeling better in 5 days and told us to follow up with any questions or concerns. After leaving the office I googled what a herniated disc was and come to find out it is actually called IVDD, a very serious condition that needs extreme crate rest for 6-8 weeks. A dog can do further damage and possibly paralyze themselves by not being crated/confined with limited mobility. We brought our dog in for a second opinion to another facility and they had Caring Hearts records on file. In the notes from Caring Hearts it stated suspected IVDD. I’m absolutely disgusted that the vet at Caring Hearts made no mention of any aftercare instructions. Crate rest is the most basic form of aftercare and at no point is it not necessary for IVDD. I’m so lucky I researched further and got a second opinion. IVDD is not a rare condition and you can literally find out best practices for aftercare in about 5 seconds of looking online. There is absolutely zero reason for this vet to be so uneducated. The lack of knowledge by this vet at Caring Hearts is beyond concerning. Please look elsewhere for a reputable and knowledgeable veterinarian. I’d give zero stars if possible. You could have paralyzed my dog! Please don’t let the good reviews fool you like they did me. They offer a discount on your bill if you post a review prior to checking out. Check out other review platforms for more honest feedback! There’s a difference for a reason!

I am a first time dog mom to my little fur baby Brody who is the light of my life. He is the pickiest most human like dog i’ve ever met and Caring Hearts Animal Clinic has been nothing but fantastic when dealing with my Brody. First off the girls at the front desk are the best, they are compassionate and understanding when it comes to all the emotions that can come with having a fur baby who is a little complicated. I’ve had my fair share of vet visits and have never been disappointed with the outcomes. I love how quick they are to respond to the text messages and how understanding they are when it comes to Brody. I love the options they go over when I take him to the vet, I never feel like they’re "selling" anything to me. I feel like they are so knowledgeable about what’s going on and truly look at all the options to make sure we handle what’s going on with my dog the best way. Dr.Shaffer is who we see and she is amazing, she is a great listener and is so smart when it comes to my picky dog. When he got neutered I admit I was a little emotional dropping him off but whoever the girl was who came to come get him from me was so kind and compassionate and was just caring. The employees here definitely represent the "Caring hearts" name very well. I love this place, they have definitely earned a forever client and now that we’ve introduced a new fur baby Chico to the family he will be getting seen here as well. So grateful for the doctors and the girls at the front desk and all the help they’ve given us.

Experiencia fantástica: My senior cat MC was acting strange and I began to worry. I called Caring Hearts and explained what was going on and that I didn’t know what to do. I get anxious about going to the vet but they let me drop him off that same day. Everyone in the office was so kind and Dr. Montes was so great and informative and eased my anxiety about going to the vet. My poor guy had a double ear infection but he was in such good hands at Caring Hearts. Also it was so affordable. I will continue to go here and bring my other cat also. I can’t thank you enough for caring for MC. <3

Experiencia positiva: When you give them your phone number, they automatically sign you up for their text message SPAM service without your consent. This is as soon as you make the appt. There is no indication of any "pet portal" as their response indicates. Beside this, the vet told me my dog need to lose a few pounds. She's a 3 year old American bulldog at 95 lbs with a cut from ribs to her stomach like every healthy dog has. I've been to three other vets and her weight had never even been MENTIONED. THEN they took my dog out of the room for the "dr" to "examine" her. She was gone for less than 60 seconds. When they came back in they said she "alerted to a cat that was in the room" I've never been to a vet that put dogs and cats in the same room together, loose, with the owner nowhere around. The "dr" was some young guy that tried to talk to me like a bro, not like a professional. This place gave me very creepy vibes and I recommend going somewhere else. I found Anasazi just up the road a MUCH better place, but my suggestion is to shop around

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my 12 year old dog in because she’s been slowing down and needed a thorough exam. She’s always been super fearful of the vet’s office and the whole staff was really wonderful about it. They were patient and kind and sweet to her even though she was completely worked up. They found out some concerning things going on with her and have quickly booked me in to see the cardiologist (less than a week after finding out my dog needed to see one). I have zero complaints. Follow up care/getting questions answered has been easy. You can text them if you need anything, and they also reached out to follow up and see how she’s doing.

Experiencia fantástica: After moving to Arizona recently I was so unsure of which clinic would be the best for my Golden Retriever Douglas, and after being referred by a friend and seeing multiple amazing reviews I decided to give Caring Hearts a call… and with the initial phone call I had with Bailey I literally felt the love and care for animals over the phone and how empathetic these amazing team members were in showing their care so I immediately tried to book an appointment and I was so so soooo lucky to have an appointment available asap. When I arrived to the clinic these amazing receptionists (Madison and Bailey, I didn’t get the other names I’m sorry) already knew who we were and gave us the biggest warm welcome we could have ever asked for. All the ladies at reception were more than professional, understanding and showed all their love towards Douglas making this first time experience so relieving. We were then greeted by even more loving team members (Marisa) in the doggy patient room when he was quickly able to be seen by - and let me tell you - Dr. Schafer who is so proficient, explained everything to a T, empathetic, very knowledgeable…. the words of gratitude could go on. I am just so blessed I came across this amazing team of animal lovers and I’m so so so thankful for all of you! Douglas loves you all so much. Thank you each and every one of you!!!

She never recommends something that she wouldn’t give to her own personal pets. I can see she truly cares about animals whether it’s a checkup or an emergency. Experiencia negativa: Terrible staff with horrible communication skills. After being a client here for 12 years, Caring Hearts decided they would no longer see me or my dog as a client because I disagreed with them on the best plan for my pet. This staff is rude and has yelled at my wife multiple times over giving my dog a medication they prescribed. Doctors don't communicate with staff about appointments or services. This place has gone way downhill. They only care about your money, not your pet!

Experiencia fantástica: We have a semi-aggresive, nervous Rhodesian Ridgeback-Boxer mix, who can be a little picky with who he accepts...so needless to say we are very cautious with where we take him or who we bring around him but everyone there is always nice, they take their time, patient with our questions and our pup is calm'ish' and does sooo good there! So happy a friend recommended Caring Hearts to us and highly encourage others to trust their fur babies will be in good hands with them.

Dr. Schafer took personal care of my kitty when she struggled to recover, and spent a long time with me going over options when I came to pick her up. Thankfully, my cat has made a full recovery. I'm so thankful to Dr. Schafer for caring so much and so genuinely.

Experiencia fantástica: Our little 8lb dog was attacked by a bigger dog creating 4 wounds about an inch long & 1/4 inch deep. Caring Hearts was able to clean & staple the wounds. Our dog healed quickly & Caring Hearts removed the staples quickly & painlessly. The clinic showed compassion & followed up after procedures to see how our dog was doing. They are very professional & compassionate. We are so glad we chose this clinic - Great people!
