Experiencia negativa: Probably one of the most worst places to take your pet. I took my pet in ofc for an emergency the diag was $165 and with taxes around $171. Minutes into looking at my pet and I mean minutes not 15 or 20 but about 5 or less minutes they don’t know or try to figure out what is wrong with her they immediately say hey so we don’t know what’s wrong but we’ll charge you an additional $1,700-1,800 to run a bunch of tests that may be the cause. “Your pet might have cancer” so we have to check for that. What is wrong with these people. They didn’t even actually try to look at my pet or try to diagnose anything before any recommendations. But there recommendations was other useless diagnostics. What is the first one for anyways if you can’t help recommend actual help or support the first time. 5 minutes in and immediately want money instead of trying to help. On top of that they put my pet in an oxygen incubator and don’t even get authorization or let us know until after to find out it’s over $100 which they decided to “waive” the fee for it but I paid the diag fee for their useless service but what a waste of time. I read the reviews ahead of time, but I was hoping that maybe it was just a bad experience that some people have here but believe those people and me with these bad reviews that they are no good. I luckily was able to find someone that was happily able to help my pet instead of worrying about just taking peoples money. Got the help my pet needed shortly after else where. Just to find out my pet ate something and needed to pass it. Please don’t waste your time here or your money. Your pet deserves better and so did mine. Clearly they need the diag money more than me since money instead of business is top priority how pathetic.

Experiencia positiva: I had to let go of my 21 year old Sophie cat because this lovely, smart baby had gone blind, deaf, with increasing kidney problems. I took her to VCA at 3 am after she cried all night because of her deafness and blindness and her inability to control her bowels. The receptionist was kind and sympathetic and the vet herself was gentle and kind. I asked for Sophie's ashes and they called me within 2 weeks to pick them up. Everything was done professionally and sympathetically. My only complaint was that the cost was somewhat high....I was so emotional and upset that I was only concerned about my baby and didn't think about that $$ until much later. Otherwise, I would recommend them based on how they treated me and my baby.

Experiencia negativa: [E: Their response to this review is a joke. Nothing can change the fact that they ignored the life-critical needs of my family member after they cheated me out of thousands of dollars.] On one hand, they are at least twice as expensive as other emergency centers (that's not comparing them to urgent care places, either). More importantly, though, they are unreliable and do not care for the health or lives of your family members. I called to ask about whether they had equipment for a non-surgical procedure. There was no confusion about what procedure I was asking about. They said yes. Then, when I went there, they said no. So they either lied or are bad at communicating. I proceeded with imaging anyway, because the issue is so urgent that it would be better to do surgery than to risk putting it off. They literally sold me the surgery. Thousands of dollars for imaging later, they don't have the equipment for the needed surgery, anyway, so I'll have to go elsewhere. They tell me they'd be happy to coordinate with another place to share patient information. I found a place to do the procedure, but when I then called VCA, they would not return my calls. Where days could mean life or death, they did not return my calls. When I finally did reach someone after a week, I got bounced between departments because they couldn't even decide who I had to talk to about my pet's health. Then I had to start from square one, anyway, because they apparently don't even share patient information internally. They do not care whether your family members live or die or suffer.

Experiencia fantástica: We're new dog parents and weren't sure who to go to when our dog started coughing. We went to vca valley animal hospital because they had urgent care. They got us in same day, the staff were super friendly and treated our baby like their own, and the doctor asked us multiple times if we had any other questions. They didn't try to upsell us on any treatments/meds/procedures, and they even texted us a couple of days later to follow up AND the vet himself called us when they got our test results and once again asked if I had any questions. The valley fever test was pricey I think, but they said it was a low chance that's what our dog had and we didnt have to do it, so we still decided to do it just to be safe. Absolutely wonderful place, I think we found our family vet!

Experiencia negativa: I had a very upsetting experience with this ER. I called ahead at 4:45 pm because my cat has valley fever and I was concerned about dehydration. I specifically asked whether I could bring him in for fluids. At no point was I told that this facility primarily handles catastrophic, actively crashing cases, or that simple supportive care like fluids might not be feasible. I was instructed to wait at home in a queue and ended up waiting five hours before being told to come in. Once I arrived, I waited over an hour in the building, only to be told that additional emergency cases had come in ahead of us and that there was only one veterinarian on duty. Ultimately, my cat was never seen and no fluids were offered. The environment was extremely stressful for him—he was trembling, frightened. If this ER is not appropriate for stable patients needing supportive care, that should be communicated clearly at the time of the initial phone call. Had I been told that waiting until the next day was reasonable if my cat was not collapsing, I would not have subjected him to hours of stress or myself to an exhausting, emotionally draining night. I understand emergency triage, but the lack of transparency and guidance made this experience unnecessarily distressing for both me and my sick cat.

Experiencia fantástica: These people are by far the most compassionate and caring vets in the business. They took an awful situation and nuanced it into a supportive loving event. Cherry on the top is the beautiful hand crafted card that I received in the mail. These people care.

Experiencia fantástica: I took my dog here when he fell unconscious, I was in shock and terrified. They took him in immediately and were very kind to me. My dog did not make it but there was nothing that could be done, they did all they could. They explained everything to me calmly and clearly. They gave me time to say goodbye and were very respectful of the situation. They also sent me a kind hand written follow up letter, I thought that was sweet. I went through them for cremation services and I was surprised how nicely packaged everything was. It's been a hard week for me but I am glad I took my sweet dog to them. ❤️

Experiencia fantástica: Got in immediately. Chlorine shock powder was flushed. Our sweet girl was completely taken care of in a compassionate, professional manner. She’ll be back swimming and playing fire hose toss by the end of the week—her favorite. So grateful! ☺️ ❤️

Experiencia fantástica: My cat ate a piece of yarn and I called to ask for some guidance. It was suggested that I bring her in to see if they could try to get her to throw it up, which can be very challenging with cats. I loved that I was given choices and prices upfront and when I asked for some advice, it was freely given. They said that they were pretty busy but would try to get me in as soon as possible. They took all of my information over the phone and got me in line before I even arrived. They took my kitty in very shortly after I arrived. The doctors came in and explained to me what they were going to try to do to get her to throw up the yarn and made sure all of my questions were answered. Ultimately, they were successful in getting her to throw up the piece of yarn which was such a huge relief! Everyone there was extremely friendly, kind, and caring. Definitely a 5 star experience.

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot say enough good things about this hospital. The doctors, techs, assistants and staff were all amazing. My dog spent 7 days with them over 2 hospitalizations due to seizures and valley fever. They reacted quickly and got his condition under control and got us to a specialist within 24 hours. They were incredibly kind, professional and sympathetic at a very scary time for us. The doctors called me daily with updates and we were allowed to visit him every day. I will only use them from now on.

Experiencia fantástica: Our beautiful Cattle Dog, Pecos, had been experiencing gastrointestinal problems that our local vet couldn’t diagnose despite X-rays, blood tests, and medications. We were referred to an internist, and VCA Valley was able to get us in with Dr. Bailey on a cancellation. From the moment we arrived, we felt hopeful. Dr. Bailey took the time to discuss Pecos’s symptoms, possible GI treatments, and next steps. During her exam, she discovered what turned out to be a mass in Pecos’s intestines. We were devastated to learn our girl was dying. During one of the hardest moments of our lives, the entire staff showed incredible compassion, care, and respect. Dr. Bailey went above and beyond to comfort us and reassure us that we had done everything we could for our beloved dog. Thank you to Alex, Heather, Dr. Bailey, and the whole VCA Valley team for your kindness and support in our hour of need. We are forever grateful. Larry and Sue Ayers Benson, Arizona

Experiencia fantástica: My husband and I, along with our daughters are dog parents. We have been to several vets in Tucson and have never experienced such kindness. From the initial phone call to checkout, the entire staff was kind, caring and everything you would want if you have a sick pet. Dr.olson was amazing and so were David, Victoria, Nancy and Shannon. This was first visit but not last, I will not stray from this amazing establishment. Ozzy Schlote’s Parents

Experiencia negativa: called yesterday for urgent help on a kitty i saved after being ran over. All i got from the lady on the phone was basically “um we dont know if we can take it because it doesnt sound like it needs immediate care so you might as well call pacc tomorrow when they are open” NO that kitten passed away 6 hours later. I work at a vet and always recommend this hospital to my clients. NEVER EVER again. In fact im going to tell them specifically not to go there.

Experiencia fantástica: My cat swallowed a needle and thread tonight attached to a start of a beaded earring. We couldn’t get the needle out and didn’t want to lodge it more, so we rushed him here. They took him back immediately and said they were going to get his vitals and then get us to a room. They came back MAYBE ten minutes later with the carrier. The Dr. was able to work it out right then. Because the Dr. didn’t have to talk to me, they brought him back out at NO CHARGE. This is a pet emergency. I walk in the door and I expect to pay $1000. I was stunned. Needless to say, THANK YOU. Thank you for helping him so quickly. Thank you for your generosity and kindness. It restored a little faith in humanity. You guys are awesome. And I’m new to Tucson and needed a vet. So here we are. Thanks again.

Experiencia fantástica: By far, the best veterinary care I have ever received. The staff and technicians have always been so kind and caring, so patient and respectful. My dog was given a short life expectancy and diagnosed with serious health issues—having her seen by a physician at VCA Valley was a last hope, as things did not look good for my furry friend. Dr. Bailey, was patient with my dog and my hurricane of anxious questions and fear-ladened concerns. She is a kind-hearted, animal-loving vet and I hope all dogs who suffer with an illness are fortunate enough to have a vet as kind, gentle and brilliant as Dr. Bailey is. Her approach set my dog on the path to recovery, finding and resolving an undiagnosed issue that had plagued my dog’s health for years. I am so glad, my dog’s former vet recommended VCA Valley for a second opinion. Bringing my dog here was the very best decision I could have ever made.

Chrollo 710 Publicada en Google 7 months ago

Experiencia negativa: Possibly the worst experience ever. On top of the bad vet tech smiling while handing an eye watering estimate to possibly save my dog’s life and saying if not then she could die. I would recommend probably any other vet besides this one. My dog clearly couldn’t walk, but they forced her anyways putting her in more distress. They took forever and they’re just sitting around at the desk joking. Extremely disappointed is an understatement. Where’s the compassion? It’s supposed to be a place of healing, but it’s like a den of thieves. Please take your animal friends to somewhere that cares.

Experiencia fantástica: The people who work here are amazing and truly cares. I brought my dog here cause she was vomitting but we had to wait at the lobby for more than an hour. During that time they kept checking om Bambi. I had a feeling they were observing her. Bambi look like she was feeling better so we were advised to take her home and come back if symptoms occur again. They did not make us pay at all. They dont do test if they feel like its unnecessary. I didnt feel like they were just up for the money, felt like they genuinely cared for the pet and the owners too. They were very accommodating through call too and even asked me to send a picture so they could confirm Bambi is fine amd save us a teip back to the hospital. I would 110% recommend them. This is a hospital that we could trust and we will bring our dog here for emergencies again.

Experiencia negativa: I have had experiences with Dr Mcreedy and amazing techs with prior fur babies of 14 15 plus years of, well being a grateful pet owner. Absolutely 100 percent out of my budget, But honesty and kind staff. 48 hours ago I had two K9 pups litter mates, one presented symptoms of parvo. Took her in, waiting waiting and after 900$ and following all recommendations, puppy, passed. A nightmare. The sister, litter mates other than confused seemed well. Tonight, first vomit. Not messing around this time. They all deserve a chance. Valley, knowing what 900$ and a pup that didn't make it was not honest enough for us to know what to do this time around. Here we are back again and being treated by techs with zero empathy for what we experienced literally two days ago, or what the puppers did. $$$$$$ second puppers has parvo as well...just heard. ?? Zero compassion from staff. Veterinarians have compassion, the people that bill you, and greet you, and literally are working at a place nobody wants to be at should have some sort of sensitivity training. The current staff at Valley has lost that. But we still pay thousands of dollars. My father is a primary care physician that would fix you whether or not you can pay, he took an oath. These pups couldn't even have relief or recommended relief without it costing 900$, not even a hey sorry about the other puppers, let's give this one a chance. And not even a kind compassionate empathetic tech. Maybe it's one bad experience, but when it comes to two instances in 72 hours and 2000$. Well plumbers and vets are millionaires, and people need to do better with staff sensitivity training. Because again, nobody wants to go to the vet. So who cares more for animals?... The owners of animals? Or the Veterinary clinics. Well, that's an easy answer.

Experiencia negativa: Worst experience. STAY AWAY. I have rescued and rehomed over 10 kittens. I have TNR 8 adult cats in my neighborhoods colony. On 9/10/25, a 6 month old kitten made it into a neighbor's yard who has two German shepherds. Unfortunately, the German Shepherd's attacked the kitten. I was able to stop their attack and rush the kitten over to this emergency clinic. Once this clinic saw the kittens' clipped ear, his fate was sealed. Despite me begging and saying I would pay all the expenses to save this baby kitten and adopt him, the clinic refused and said he must be turned over to PACC. I wasn't allowed to know the status or diagnosis of the kitten. I later found out that this clinic ended this kittens life. I will never know why they decided to end this kittens' life. I can't help but feel that because he was considered a stray cat, this clinic and PACC didn't want to try to save his life. No compassion or respect was ever displayed by the staff during this process. If you're trying to save a stray animals' life during an emergency, I'd stay clear of this vet clinic. They may claim to be no kill shelter (clinic), which is somewhat true. HOWEVER, BE AWARE they feed animals into the assembly line of a kill shelter, PACC. Taking the kitten to this emergency clinic will always be a regret in my life. Sadly, his life was taken too soon, and I'll never know why that decision was made.

Experiencia fantástica: I highly recommend VCA! The staff are knowledgeable, professional and kind-hearted. They were so very thoughtful in not only their approach to the medical issues of my German Shepherd but also his anxiety and aggression. Dr. Zito's transparency, compassion and professionalism is second to none. She is trustworthy and a calm presence during high stress interactions. I can not recommend this place and Dr. Zito highly enough! They absolutely saved my dog's life and showed us compassion and patience as they navigated the path with us.

Experiencia negativa: Our Great Dane exp shortness of breath while driving from NM to PHX on 1-10. Original oxygen sat was low. Oxygen started… 2 hrs later asked what oxygen sat was and technician said it had not been re checked and they would have to charge to check it again(seriously) Then came back 5 min later to share oxygen sat result after my reponse to her original reply. Temperature also 105 and no treatment. Horrible experience…..discharged and took immediately to ER vet in Phoenix and got immediate care. DO NOT recommend this ER!!!!!!!!!!!

Experiencia negativa: Worst experience ever. The doctor showed up in the exam room. Talked to us for few minutes, before we even finish talking. She said she will go get me an email, to email her my dog’s medical records. She disappeared, everyone disappeared. My dog was not feeling good. We rang the bill few times, no one showed up. No one in the lobby or hallways. It was like ghost city!! We waited and waited, then decided to leave because she was not okay!! You left us a voicemail that you had to go to an emergency. Well, my baby Keira was also an emergency, she crossed the rainbow bridge the next day at VCA Civano. You lack professionalism. You obviously failed my baby! The other hospital did their best to try and revive her. And now, you are sending me an invoice!!! An invoice for what? For doing nothing, or For leaving us wondering if you ever gonna come back to help my sick dog?

Experiencia fantástica: Losing my dog was one of the saddest days of my life, but the doctors and staff at VCA were incredibly kind and compassionate. They treated my pup with love and gave him the best possible care while he fought to stay with us. They supported me through the tears and showed true empathy every step of the way. If your dog isn’t acting like himself, don’t wait — take him to VCA. Getting him checked out might save his life. My sweet boy is now pain-free, doing all his favorite things. Thank you to the entire VCA team for everything.

Experiencia fantástica: All I have to say is the people that were working May 28th 2025 were the most caring and compassionate people that I've ever experienced when it comes to pets. We had a devastating choice that we had to make to put one of our dogs down because she is just suffering and we couldn't let her do it and they were the most kind and understanding people that I've ever dealt with in Veterinary Services. I'll forever be in debt to this place and I'll do things that I can do to try to help them or thank them and in many ways as I possibly can because they were truly amazing and I how do you say that I was best experience for one of the worst experiences you have to experience in life putting down somebody that's been in your life for 14 plus years. They were so kind to me and my family and they let us be with her and they made the situation as easy as they could for us giving how hard it was for us to have to go through that thank you so much you guys you are amazing and ill forever recommend your services to people just thank you I don't know what else to say

I did have some feedback for the team to make a challenging situation a bit better and I was very pleased that they took my feedback to heart. I would go here again. Thank you for caring for Max so well - it was a very unexpected and heart breaking time in my little family. A total surprise was the very sweet note I received from the team that cared for Max. It was a very welcome and thoughtful sentiment that was helpful at my time of grief. Thank you again.

Experiencia fantástica: I never got the chance to bring my dog here, as she got worse and we had to put her to sleep before her appointment day arrived, but I just wanted to thank Heather from internal medicine. She was so friendly and explained things in detail when I called to make the appointment initially. When I left a message a few days later about my dog passing and needing to cancel the consultation, she took the time to call me to offer condolences. It was very kind and appreciated.

Experiencia fantástica: Hopefully you don't experience any emergencies with your pet but if you do I recommend bringing them here. Around 8 pm my cat swallowed some yarn. I called a few different emergency 24 hour vets to see what they recommended and they all recommended bringing her in to get examined. Ultimately I decided to bring her to this place and I'm glad I did. The receptionist was kind, the technician was friendly, and the best of all was the vet. (I think her name was Tanya?) She was so compassionate and treated my kitty with so much care and respect. The whole thing was so stressful for me, and a thousand times more stressful for my little kitty, so I'm really grateful that such a kind doctor was able to care for her. Thankfully she was able to get the yarn out!!

Experiencia positiva: Edited: My senior dog was being treated by my regular vet and had lab work come back that was concerning (labwork was repeated twice). They recommended I take her to an internist, and the only one I could get an apt with was at VCA. The vet was very thorough and asked me lots of questions. He listened carefully to my answers. He then provided me with clear explanations of why he would not recommend any further testing. Basically, there were no other symptoms other than the lab work, so he wouldn't recommend doing any more diagnostics. I signed a form saying that I would not treat. The next week my dog started having a symptom that the vet had mentioned during our appointment. I called back to see about a follow up, but I was told that this was a new problem and was therefore a new appointment, not a follow up. I opted not to return because I didn't feel I really had a new problem to address. And since my pet is older, I decided to work with my regular vet to do the best we could with the info we have. -- I originally gave a 3-star review and wrote that I would recommend VCA internal medicine with a younger pet with multiple symptoms, but probably not with an older pet who only has abnormal lab work. Since then, VCA reached out to me, and I was able to clarify some things about my visit, and I've increased my rating. -- Ultimately, I think that there were some misunderstandings related to communication on both my side and VCA's side. I can see why staff thought my follow up request was a new issue. For this reason, the doctor's careful consideration of my pet and clear explanations outweighs any miscommunication about follow up appointments.

Experiencia fantástica: I had the bad luck of having to take two separate dogs to this VCA late at night two nights in a row last weekend (second visit occasioned by a dog eating all the medicine we brought home from the first visit). Everybody I interacted with was cheerful, gentle with my pups, attentive, straightforward and - most important at 3am - efficient. Also, the bill for the first visit was $200 less than an almost identical visit I had at another clinic last year (why do my dogs always eat grass and then get stickers in their mouths!?). And last years more expensive visit was for a much smaller dog (I mention this because both issues required anesthesia to get the stickers out). At VCAs, it’s always going to be a bit hit or miss bc they’re big and can have quality and not quality folks working there but I had a great experience and wouldn’t hesitate to go back if needed.

Experiencia negativa: I witnessed a dog get run over by a truck. Called Pima Animal Care Center, they advised us to take the injured dog here. They came outside looked in the dog’s mouth and refused to treat the dog. Said it wasn’t injured enough, sent us to Pima Animal Care Center. The dog passed away at Pima Animal Care Center. It could have got some care sooner…. Is that injured enough Valley? The German Shepards back end was run over by the tire. I’m not sure how looking in the mouth tells you anything about internal injuries or broken bones. But , y’all were wrong! Maybe try that expensive equipment that is designed for that, don’t just guess. They didn’t even check for a microchip. This dog had a family that they could have notified and had an opportunity to make their own decisions. (I didn’t have that information till the next day). My dogs go to Civano for their emergency needs. I would highly recommend them. This was a horrible experience. Sadly people trying to save their animals in an emergency situation don’t have time to read reviews.

Experiencia fantástica: The team at VCA Animal Hospital and Emergency is very loving. My dog Sunny had been experiencing a limp when walking and began making noises when I would pick him up. We were able to take him in at 11pm. They said he had back problems and put him on pain management. After taking his medicine he is doing much better now. Thank you VCA!!

Experiencia fantástica: We visited VCA in an emergency situation as our beloved Guinevere was doing poorly but took a sudden downturn and we couldn't wait for our vet in Sahuarita to see her. We did have to say goodbye to her that early early morning and the staff and doctor were super kind and compassionate, helping us make sound choices and assisting us in saying a beautiful and dignified goodbye to her. That was one of the worst days of our life but we remember the kindness of VCA's staff as a comfort to that awful awful day. Thank you so much Lizette and to the lovely doctor who's name I sadly have misplaced in my brain but who's exceeding kindnesses are forever imprinted in our hearts. Experiencia negativa: Please do not go here, they did not hear our concerns and kept telling us our cat had asthma and that he should be better in 2 weeks and to WAIT. Well our cat developed sepsis and was treated because i went to a different emergency vet place. As a concerned pet parent, please be careful taking your pet here.

Experiencia fantástica: We were visiting from out of town when our 9-month-old Yorkie, Bruno, suddenly became lethargic after a walk. At first, we tried to take him to another emergency vet, but they were at capacity and recommended this clinic instead. Even though they were very busy, the team got him checked out quickly. Every staff member we interacted with was incredibly kind and compassionate. Thank you, ladies, for taking such great care of our Bruno! We truly appreciate it! Edit: They even sent a follow-up text to check on him!

Experiencia negativa: If you love your pet do not bring them here. They won't tell you, but it is a teaching hospital, many of the docs are students and they won't tell you that. My cat died here because of their incompetence and inexperience. Please heed this warning. I thought my cat Lucky would be treated in a hospital setting with a variety of of veterinary specialists who would create a diagnosis and a real treatment plan. but no, their plan was to keep in in their ICU and "monitor" his breathing....that's it. He got steadily worse and we had to let him cross the rainbow bridge in just 2 days. Our hearts are broken. I want to add a couple things to this review. I wanted to have Lucky get an echocardiogram when he was there to help with his diagnosis (it would seem that the hospital would've figured that out first)...However they don't have a feline cardiologist..so based on advice from my primary vet (Sunrise Pet Clinic) - Sunrise could send over a locally based echo tech who would do the test and send it out to a cardiologist for a STAT reading. What did VCA say? NO! But, if we let their Internist do an ultrasound (not a real echo) first for $500, THEN we could bring in our person and that would cost us an additional $800. They just wanted to line their pockets with a little more money. And not get the proper information needed to help Lucky So, we had their guy do the hack echo. He didn't even have the courtesy to come to us and discuss the findings. Instead, sent a trainee to tell us about it. Sooo unprofessional and awful We could have had a thorough test and reading for a few dollars more. Also, on Lucky's second day there, my husband and I wanted to come down and visit with him. I spoke with someone in Leadership who said that wouldn't be possible. (what?). She finally gave in after I BEGGED. So much for compassionate care and understanding. I see they want me to contact them so they can talk to me, well no way. I am never changing my opinion of this terrible place. Wish we had gone to Veterinary Specialty Clinic in the first place.

Experiencia negativa: Several months ago, we took our dog (family member) to this hospital after he suddenly developed a limp. After an eight hour wait, we were told that he had an ACL injury that would require surgery ($6,000-$8,000 quote). We were ready to pay whatever the cost might have been, however we were skeptical when they were unwilling to do any sort of testing to confirm this outside of looking at his symptoms. We went to another vet and they diagnosed him with Valley Fever, which was treated with antibiotics and gone within several weeks. While we were refunded, it’s horrible that places like VCA Vet prey on people’s emotions & love for their pets!

Experiencia fantástica: The team at VCA was incredible. The kindest, most compassionate and empathetic staff helped me through the hardest day having to say goodbye to my best friend. We came in without an appointment and they very quickly worked us in, gave us plenty of time to say our goodbyes and made sure my girl was comfortable with blankets and towels in her final minutes. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone else looking for any sort of care for their pets. Thank you to the team

Experiencia fantástica: I really wish I would have gotten the vets name who took care of us last night, she was absolutely amazing! Beyond kind, explained every single step that was to be expected, gave us updates, time to process, allowed us to ask all of the questions we needed to for us to feel comfortable and most importantly saved my furbaby and her babies! I cannot put into words the level of appreciation I have for the service and care that was provided during this hectic scary moment for us and not just the doc but the entire staff. THANK YOU AND ALL THAT YOU DO! We arrived with our pregnant female who was having complications, she was immediately rushed back and evaluated. We walked in around 11:00PM and were greeted with such compassion, understanding of where our heads were at and just the situation as a whole with amount of stress our baby was under, her babies were under and ourselves. As mentioned, we were given details of each step that was being taken, updated every step of the way and were able to go home with our pup and her babies early this morning! If I could I would give 50 stars!

Experiencia fantástica: My wife and I brought our Hazel (Min Pin / chihuahua) to VCA Valley Animal Hospital on 22nd st during the late night hours due to some labored breathing, The staff here were simply amazing. From Autumn to Dr. Zito , they were very caring . Dr. Zito took a good amount of time with us to explain everything that was going on with Hazel and what they were going to be doing. Unfortunately Hazel‘s labored breathing got worse and we ultimately made the decision to let her rest in peace. Dr Zito, Autumn and Megan were very caring to us and our family during our grieving, as this was a huge surprise to us and not something we expected to have to do. We thank Dr. Zito, Autumn and Megan For all they did for us, you made this heartbreaking experience a bit easier.

Our cat was immediately seen by the doctor and staff on duty the night of 10/30 . Sadly, we had to let him go. Everybody was very kind and comforting. They gave us time to hold him and saying our goodbyes to Iggy! Thank you to Dr. Johnson (I hope I remembered your name correctly)and your assistant Samantha! I really trust our primary vet and it was important to us that in the case of a midnight emergency we could go to a place that already had our pets records. Experiencia negativa: Like some of my fellow reviewers, I made the mistake of taking my kitten here. They did a wellness exam, and gave an antibacterial ointment to the small wound my kitten had in her face, after shaving the area. I was surprised why they didn’t do the PCR for ringworm, even after I asked them. A week later, my kitten’s wound was spreading more. I called them and they wanted me to bring her as an emergency patient. I didn’t feel comfortable with the conversation, therefore took my kitten to VEG at Oro Valley. They took her in and the vet there said this is ringworm, and took her skin samples for the test. The ointment we’ve been using was not helpful for the illness. Also shaving the affected area made it worse. Oral medication had to be prescribed. It doesn’t make sense why VCA wouldn’t do the test for such a common disease. I feel like they wanted us to do a second visit, so that we pay more. My pet had to suffer several days thanks to VCA’s sales tricks. Highly recommend not going to this place

Experiencia fantástica: Our regular vet was overbooked, so we went here with low expectations. Instead we got great care, they gave us meds and advice that healed our cat quickly, even calling weeks later to check in on healing progress. Yes, you’ll have to wait a few hours if your pet is low on the triage list but just bring a book. The lobby is not a bad place to spend a few hours.

Experiencia negativa: WORST PLACE EVER!! Took my 13 yr old dog for an emergency with his heart in the middle of the night. We were turned away due to funds. We begged to pay a portion make arrangements for the rest, but we're denied & told to go find a low income or free clinic that could take us the next day. My dog didn't last that long. Experiencia negativa: We brought our cat in when he was sick. They charged thousands of dollars, giving him treatments and services that we didn’t authorize. And they didn’t even make him any better. The next week we came back because he couldn’t breathe. More services and treatments that we didn’t authorize, thousands more dollars and we had to put him down. He was only a year and a half old. If you value your pet’s health and life, don’t bring them here. They will nearly bankrupt you with ineffective treatments that you didn’t even want and then kill your pet anyways

Experiencia negativa: Worst vet visit ever. The veterinarian and veterinary technician/assistant did not want to check my dog’s ears because he growled and barked at them once. It is known to them that my dog is a caution due to fear aggression so to make this appointment easier for both my dog and the vet, they gave me three different medications to give to him prior to his appointment in hopes to calm him but the effects took a little longer to kick in. I told them as soon as we were in the room that my dog does better when we aren’t present but they ignored my comment and had already decided that they did not want to deal with him. Instead they made me do his ear cytology for them. They didn’t even offer a muzzle or make any attempt to take him to another room to check him. After waiting in the room for a while the medication finally calmed him but it didn’t make any difference, they still didn’t offer to have the veterinarian check him. My dog is a pitbull and a rescue so he isn’t very socialized like other dogs that I’ve seen there and it’s also a vet office, of course he is nervous and scared. I understand they wanted to be careful but if you are that afraid of dogs that you won’t properly treat them, then you shouldn’t be working there. I will not be bringing any of my pets here again but I’m sure they will be happy with that anyway.

Experiencia negativa: Hospital is run by unethical staff and has poor and incompetent leadership. They work in collusion with insurance companies. They aren't working for the well being of your animals by any means, but simply plots to drum up excessive costs to profit several thousands off your pets labs, x rays and more, when they already knew my dog simply had pneumonia . They mislead customers and have admitted in full that they are treating my dog for pneumonia and deliberately having me pay thousands of dollars $$$ for my dog knowing well her pneumonia is treatable with a course of antibiotics. My dog was never even properly examined by their internist named Bondy, but instead he referred us to her PCP for all her ailments like seizures and neck twitching and never bothered to examine my pet, but had no issue charging me a visit follow up fee of $180 without even examining my dog as she was dropped for an ultrasound. Isn't this bozo supposed to be an internist ? Why is the internist referring me to her regular vet instead of making observations and examining the pet to assess and make a proper Dx? Why am I charged a visit fee for $180 when I dropped my dog for an ultrasound which he had me do a thyroid lab test instead costing close to $600 if my dog has pneumonia which is easily treatable ? They just eagerly want to bill you for anything and exploit you for $$$$ . They are purely incompetent and serve the worst interests of your pets and their customers. They lack professionalism on all levels . Choose well rated vets as there are numerous other options in the city than those serving the worst interests of your pets and are simply in it to profit off you. They truly do not care for your pets , but it's all about how much they can bill you for !! Do not bother voicing complaints to medical director , he lacks professionalism, credibility, and common ethics . The only way their medical director reaches out to you is when you complain to corporate management, and only then, he will reach out three weeks later . Avoid this place as they are negligent and exploit their customers as this appears to be the common theme with other reviews online .You'll regret ever coming here ! When their leadership is poor, their employees tend to be as the two go hand in hand.

Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful experience!!! My dog is 12 years old & had an abscess tooth that caused his face to swell up. During our appointment it was determined he needed multiple teeth pulled as well as his teeth cleaned. We were concerned to give him anesthesia due to his age. Dr. Rocco Mele is absolutely wonderful & reassured us he could address all of our dog’s needs & that the dose of anesthesia that he would be using would be monitored & safe. This doctor specializes in dental work & is why we came to this facility. Dr. Mele called us 3 times during the procedure to give us updates & to reassure us what was happening. This was extremely helpful. Following the procedure, I was called multiple times by the staff to check on my dog’s status. Exceptional service by the entire staff. My dog (our “baby”) is healthy & happy again. Thank you!!!

Experiencia negativa: If I could I would choose no stars!!! Our dog beauty had an emergency appt and was taken in on time, got sent to the back room for 7hrs and was never seen, by the vet, she was in pain, we ended up having to leave and make her an ER appt elsewhere because they did not take her pain seriously, mind you the lobby had more pts in the waiting room, beauty was not administered pain meds to help her while she waited, if you take your pet here just be aware it’s gonna be a horrible wait, because it’s seems like only one person is there to assist the animals! Worst emergency pet hospital ever!

Experiencia negativa: Avoid at all costs !!! Their internists are into profiting from you and not there for the well being or health of your dog. Dr. Bondy will waste your time and money running unnecessary diagnostics without any resolution or diagnosis. They will also charge you extra fees close to $200 to simply talk about the results of your pets tests. Run fast! Do not bother unless you plan to dish thousands and thousands of dollars with clear unethicals and incompetent unprofessionals . What a disgrace to the field !

Experiencia fantástica: Had to take my doggie ( Rusty )around one in the morning. We called ahead to let them know we were on the way, as soon as we got there they took Rusty immediately. The staff was very friendly, sensitive, and comforting towards our situation. The nurse made sure to explain everything step-by-step with paper work to make sure we understood. The Vet who was taking care of Rusty was professional but also had so much empathy. When we made the heartbreaking decision to put Rusty to asleep, they were very caring and gave us all the time we needed with Rusty to say our goodbyes. A few days later they sent a card to send their condolences and they let us know through phone call that Rusty’s ashes were ready to be picked up after 4 days. They handled everything with care. I would recommend this establishment to anyone in need of care for their pets.

Experiencia fantástica: I was on a road trip in April and I wasn’t two weeks in when my housesitter, who had been neglecting my dog, Theodore Roosevelt came home to find him dead on my back patio. The angels at VCA Valley Animal Hospital took in his body while I was gone and kept him safe, even froze him an extra day while I frantically got myself back across the U.S. to my baby. They let me come in the middle of the night to see his body. Brought him out in a little box coffin when I came the next day to pick him up. Everyone was so nice to me and gentle throughout the whole process when I felt like my world was ending right in front of them. Thank you guys infinitely for taking care of my Theodore for me when I wasn’t here to do it. Wasn’t the first time I’ve needed VCA, and they’ve never disappointed me.

Experiencia fantástica: My dog had signs of an intestinal blockage, so I took him to VCA. We spent a total of 6 hours there, most of which was waiting to be seen. But since my regular vet usually takes two weeks or more for an appointment, 6 hours was a small price to pay for peace of mind. Dr. Coverdill and the vet tech, Charlotte, were awesome. My dog is terrified of vets. He doesn’t like strangers touching him (who does?) and he reacts by nipping to protect himself, which has caused other vets to muzzle him which just causes more anxiety. Charlotte (and another vet tech, but I didn’t get their name) did the initial triage. They sat with my dog and let him run the show. Since he was alert and responsive, he didn’t get put through the trauma of having his temperature taken. Charlotte told Dr. Coverdill about Red’s anxiety, so when the doctor came in the room, he immediately sat down and interacted with my dog like he was just there to love on him. The doctor put his stethoscope on his lap and on the ground, so my dog could examine it and not be scared. My dog still wasn’t pleased with being examined, but he let me hold him lightly while the vet listened to his heart. No freaking out. They did sedate him to be able to take viable X-rays, which is totally understandable. They said my pup was a sweetheart during that process and at no time did they muzzle him. I highly recommend Dr. Coverdill and Charlotte at VCA. All the folks at the front desk were also great and tried to see to the needs of everyone in the lobby.

Experiencia negativa: Moved from California and wanted rattle snake vaccine. My dog was completely up to date on all shots and they didn’t want to believe me. I was scheduled for a booster vaccine for her 3 weeks later and brought all of the dogs medical information to show she was up to date on everything. Waited for a 1/2 hour after my scheduled time and the girl who finally showed up said were going to give her a blood test for heart and worm. I told her I had records and she didn’t need it she could look. She said no problem we will just give her booster. I was billed over a $100 for the blood test. I called when I got bill and it was removed. they seem to want to up charge and request procedures that don’t need to be done. I will never bring my dog back. I don’t trust the way the facility is run. Asked to speak with mgr who was in meeting and they never called back.

Experiencia fantástica: My boyfriend bought me flowers, & I walked in on my cat eating them. She started freaking out & acting like she was hallucinating around 11pm. I looked up the flowers to see if they were toxic & they were. So I called VCA Valley Animal Hospital. They answered my questions promptly, & told me for a full exam the charge would be $216 but thought we should come in. We went there, I ugly cried in their lobby (sorry about that, it was super embarrassing ahhah), & they got us in within five minutes. The vet that saw us was very kind. She took my kitty back. Within 30 minutes she was back & said the flowers she ate were toxic, but not toxic enough to cause kidney failure. They said she will most likely have some tummy issues, & we could elect to do a full exam but didn’t think it was necessary. I was shocked when they said we didn’t need to pay the $216 I was quoted for a full exam. Since it wasn’t a full exam, they said we didn’t need to pay. They definitely could’ve taken advantage of us & charged us but did not charge us anything. There are good people in this world, & definitely the people at VCA Valley Animal Hospital are. Thank you all so much for helping us tonight, & again sorry for ugly crying in your lobby <3

Experiencia fantástica: While traveling in Tucson to see Saguaro NP, our dog was experiencing severe seasonal allergic reactions in her paws and was constantly chewing them. VCA was the only hospital of 5 that we tried who would take her, not being a regular customer. The tech was great and the Vet was super. Problem was solved with a shot and foot cream. We were very happy to get our girl back for our continued travels. Basic visit was $140 plus shot and meds. Pretty much in line with what other Vets quoted before saying they couldn’t fit us I

Experiencia negativa: Not the place. Took our cat there and the vet said she was hydrated and not in pain. Charged 300+ for fluids and meds. Went to another clinic today where they said the exact opposite of that vet and were so much more affordable and didn't have to follow a bureaucrat dialogue. Mom and pop shops are the place to go. Experiencia negativa: Brought our Boxer/American bulldog in for a uti. They put her on high doses of antibiotics and being a pharmacy technician I voiced my opinion about getting a yeast infection. The dr proceeded to say she will be fine with no problems and here we are a yeast infection. How is it that a pharmacy tech knew more then the dr? And now we will have to spend even more money when all of it could have been handled at once. So disappointed in VCA

Experiencia fantástica: Kind and courteous staff. They've always taken care of me and my dogs no matter what time of day or situation. I recently had to rush up here after my Dutchie got into the trash and swallowed a feminine hygiene product. No other emergency clinic near me was open or available to see her, but as always, VCA Tucson was. I rushed her in, and they were able to enduce vomiting straight away. Because they were able to see her so quickly, the item she swallowed didn't move further into her GI tract and cause a blockage, which would have meant surgery. VCA not only saved her life but also prevented her from needing to undergo expensive and painful surgery. The Vet was even kind enough to not charge me full price since I knew exactly what she ate and got her in quickly. The staff here is so kind and helpful, it's the one place you can always rely on in the Tucson area (despite there being a shortage of Vets in the state) to be open and helpful during an emergency. I'm very grateful for this clinic and all of its staff. I haven't met a single vet or tech here that I didn't like. No matter how stressed or busy they are, they are always sincere and kind. Very knowledgeable, clean, and compassionate facility--highly recommend.

Experiencia negativa: This place is literally ONLY interested in money and doesn't give a hoot about your animal itself. They refused any care past offering euthanasia when I told them I didn't have 5k that exact instant for the 24 hour hold they recommended. I explained I wanted a 2nd opinion after seeing they couldn't even quote me correctly (their 24 hour option had 72 hours worth of at least one service priced out at about $700 extra that they demanded immediate payment for) and would prefer if there were anything to do to make my boi a bit more comfortable in the meantime..they talked me into a pain killer injection which I was not allowed to be present for (literally wasnt allowed to see my dog from the second i got there to the moment they brought him back out 2 hours later). While I understand my dog may have been sick in the way of having a day or two left without ANY intervention, there was NO WAY he was deathly ill to the point of keeling over 15 minutes after leaving the vet office...yet somehow I still ended up having my boy die in that timespan. I honestly believe they over dosed him on purpose because I didn't opt for either options given which were literally either to pay 5k immediately pre-treatment, or to euthanize. They charged me 273 (after getting initial authorization for the price to be 217 that I would pay, they changed that to a pre authorization and charged me an extra 50 something- for the extra drugs they used to kill him maybe?) and some change to murder my dog rather than attempt any actual help. When I called for help with canine CPR as I was a few minutes out from their location at the time he started going downhill (and extremely quickly), I was essentially given an I told you so by both the vet and admin who answered, given attitude and told the receptionist didn't know CPR (WHEN YOU WORK AT A VET ER I THINK YOU SHOULD KNOW THE BASICS FOR GODS SAKE) and the vet herself just wanted to rub it in my face rather than help. Don't bring your dog here unless you're loaded on cash or are okay with your pet being murdered, because those are the options presented and completed by this practice after tonight. I got to hold my boy as he died scared and confused because of these people's vile money hungry attitudes. Not once did I feel like they cared about more than making a buck off of his bad health. Y'all should be ashamed of yourselves.

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my dog in during emergency hours, Technician Natalie and Dr.Varley helped us. I was really nervous and had so many questions and they were so patient with me. They helped Jo and were so amazing and knowledgeable. I recommend VCA so much, they definitely cemented that VCA is a wonderful place to take my pets and I'll continue to have them be my regular vet.

Experiencia negativa: This clinic should be absolutely ashamed of their greediness. $3500 for an overnight stay on oxygen with no other pets in the hospital and the vet and techs having to be there anyway. It was a mindblowing and sickening experience to have your love and grief used against you for pure profit. Who could afford that. They offered no solution or even a single option for treatment besides euthanasia because I did not have the $3500 they demanded to save my baby's life. Disgusting. Then they rolled his face in ink and sent me a nose and tongue print in the mail. A horrible experience I will relive over and over.

Experiencia negativa: I took my dog here due to an internal bleeding issue and they told me that I'd have to wait 4-6 hours. So I decided is try somewhere else so they told me they would look at her to so what's going on faster then that due to my dog pooping blood. Then proceeded to check out vitals within 15-20 min. Told me after that I was next for the vet to see. I waited then took my dog out side to give her water then waited 4 hours. Went in and asked how much longer. Finally after 6 hours I went in and asked again and they told me maybe wait for 2 more hours. I finally just left after a discussion with Samantha on how my dogs non emergency even tho she is bleeding internally and I can just wait or leave. So I'd say not a good experience if avoid because your animal will grow old waiting to see a tech

Experiencia fantástica: The staff here is very friendly and genuinely caring! The doctors are great and give you all the time you need. I wouldn't go anywhere else! Thanks. Dr. Coverdill is great and spends the time you need to understand what your pets needs to remain healthy. Thanks again! Thanks from Winston and McKinkey!

Experiencia fantástica: Was told over the phone I would be waiting 4 hours. Showed up and was in a room under 15 min. They are very up front about pricing every step of the way so you don't go over any amount your not willing to pay. Or your not surprised later. And it was really easy to see my cat whenever I wanted or call to get updates. They also randomly sent me pics of her too.

Experiencia fantástica: They were able to see me within 15 minutes, and we so kind & helpful & made sure that I understood everything & could make decisions based around what I was comfortable with. Upon returning home, my animal was already more comfortable and you could tell every interaction was kind and genuine while we were there.

Experiencia negativa: It is a shame that they play with people's feelings, the attention is good, but the services they provide are terrible, almost 5 hours and pure talk, but they did nothing at all, my dog came out the same as he came in, two hours later My dog is bleeding when I go out and they did nothing in this place about it, I have to go somewhere else right now, the doctor seems young and inexperienced, I would have saved better if I expected that all the other places would be open during office hours. Be careful with these places. Hours later my dog died, they did absolutely nothing, I wrote to the email they put below but I didn't get a response either, this place only has the animals for hours but doesn't do anything at all, if they were decent they would return the money they charge for not Do nothing .

Experiencia negativa: I paid 247.00 for this hospital to call PACC on animal cruelty charges because I couldn't afford the surgery of 8,000 plus. And when I asked for a payment plan, they never responded with a straight answer. They had me wait for 3+ hours and didn't help me. I finally got fed up with their games and told them I was taking my pet and leaving, and then they threatened me with calling PACC, which they did. I had to surrender my baby to be euthanized. I will never forgive this place for that. I also feel that racism was in play here. I am Mexican, and I work outside on a Ranch, so yes my clothes were dirty because I came straight from work, and my husband also works outside. They didn't bother to help us, and we were willing to try anything to help our pet. They also lock the door, and you have no way of leaving or recollecting your pet. It felt like a prison. It was the most awful and stressful experience of my life. And please don't respond to this saying, "I'm sorry for your experience, and please reach out to us to see how we can make things better,"because you guys should have done it from the start. We took our pet to you because we know PACC is at capacity and thought you guys could help us better. Boy, we're we wrong! Please do not come here expecting them to help you unless you super rich and white. You guys wonder why PACC is at capacity because you guys would rather charge a lot of money than save a life. My pet's memory stays with me forever. I won't even give you the satisfaction of knowing his name because he deserves more than that.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Thal is amazing. My dog is no longer biting his paws nor having anxiety due to the prescriptions she put him on. Every other vet just said to use these wipes that never worked and could not or would not help with his anxiety. Dr. Thal stepped up to the plate and did wonders with our dog. Thank you so much for caring!
