Experiencia negativa: Came to this vet to get my dogs cut looked at and an antibiotic they charged me $70 to come in and refused to do anything unless they could sedate my dog which was not necessary. I’ll never be going back if you’re smart you’ll find another vet. Total waste of time and money.

Experiencia negativa: This place used to be the best in the city. I've had my animals here almost 15 years. I'm watching my dog suffocate from a collapsed trachea I can't put her in the car due to a phobia level anxiety of car rides that will kill her on the way. Her tongue is turning blue. They offered to see us 4 days from now but can't prescribe anything for management or the car ride in the meantime. Don't let your own dog die the way mine is. Find a new vet.

Experiencia fantástica: Yesterday I took my 10 month old kitten in with severe diarrhea that nothing would cure. The receptionist was extremely helpful getting us checked in and disinfecting the waiting area. The veterinarian promptly saw us and asked all the necessary questions. They gave us a treatment plan along with food and medicine all at a very affordable price. Today my kitten is much better and hasn’t had anymore diarrhea. I’m very happy and will be returning here for all my veterinary needs. Thank you for taking such good care of my Benny!

Experiencia negativa: This clinic staff is absolutely disgusting, rude & unprofessional. We paid 2 “annual fees” in just 3 weeks when all my puppy needed was his second round of shots. When I asked why we had to pay another annual fee the first response was “ because you had concerns about your puppy “ another lady came in & said it was because “ we seen a new Dr this time “ & a third lady came in and said because “he was getting a rabies shot and needs a whole new exam” even though he had just had one 3 weeks prior. The manager eventually came out and couldn’t give us a break down of our bill or a print out of their policies or charges. Until this day I still have not received my puppies shot records that I was supposed to be given the same day! Will absolutely NEVER go back to this clinic.

Experiencia fantástica: From the very 1st phone call, in which the lady that answered was polite & professional, she scheduled my dog within a couple of days to look at what appeared to be an infection in his eye. When I arrived & called to let them know I was there, within around 5-10 mins someone came out & gathered a little more info and let me know the process. She took my dog in and they took very good care of him. It was not terribly expensive either. I plan on taking my other 2 dogs there as well!

Experiencia fantástica: My Dad and I took our sick dog Troy to Ajo veterinary clinic and sadly had to put him down due to cancer. The staff was very professional and sincere. When we decided to get two more dogs, we took our German shepherd puppies to them and have had nothing but the best care for them. I have always said the three persons or clinics you always keep are your personal doctor(s), dentist and veterinarian or veterinary clinic and Ajo veterinary clinic is one you want to keep.

Experiencia negativa: The veterinarian is a wonderful person and good at the job. The vet clinic itself is terrible. Unfriendly desk, lies about call backs, inflexibility, small lot. This is a repeated experience with this clinic over the past several years, even with staff turnover. Not worth it if you want a friendly, flexible clinic experience.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Micheal was an amazing vet! probably the best i’ve ever come across. he was compassionate and made me feel like my concerns and my cat were being genuinely attended to. every encounter i had with him was more then pleasant and not to mention he was able to help my cat and get him feeling better! the staff in general from the clinic were also amazing, always felt welcomed every time i stepped foot in there. ajo vet is an extremely professional and knowledgeable clinic overall, i would definitely recommend them as an option for anyone!!

Experiencia fantástica: We took our cat to Ajo Veterinary Clinic for an exam and to get information regarding taking her out of the country since Dr. Swenson is a USDA certified vet. From the moment we entered the clinic we were warmly greeted and well taken care of. We were immediately escorted to an exam room where our tech, Kristen, took our cat’s vitals and pertinent information. She was very gentle and complimentary of our cat's demeanor. Shortly after Dr. Swenson entered the room. She gave us all the information we needed, as well as an estimate for the USDA exam that our cat will need before leaving the country. We were impressed with the clinic and the employees - more so than our usual vet clinic.

Experiencia fantástica: I am SO HAPPY we brought our 16yo pug, Frankie Figs, to this practice! He's been fighting Valley Fever, we believe, for almost 2 months. My poor guy has been suffering, and by default so have we. Our regular vet does not have imaging equipment or the ability to provide certain types of testing, but Ajo Veterinary Clinic has worked with them in the past in cases like ours were a pet needs more help. Frank had been recovering but very, very slowly. He still had so much going on, but it's been two days since going to this practice and making the medication changes that they suggested and I can't even tell you how good he's doing this morning! We were afraid that our big guy was never going to fully recover but this morning he's himself again. A tired version of himself, he hasn't had a decent night sleep in 2 months. But, he's back! The X-rays cost a bit but I found it reasonable for out of pocket X-rays. The Ladies at the practice are fantastic. Dr Mike was incredible. And I if this holds I can't even tell you how happy I am with Frank's recovery. I thought I was going to lose my dog but instead I've been given more time with my best buddy.

Experiencia fantástica: We had a great experience at Ajo Veterinary Clinic. Our senior, pittie girl was showing signs of an ear infection. I called and they were able to get her in the following day. The soonest her usual vet could get her in was more than 3 weeks away. When we arrived they took us right back to her exam room. We did not do a lot of waiting around. Everyone was so good with her. Dr. Michael was great. As a senior, Amorrah had a few other things going on and he discussed and explained everything in great detail. Also sent us home with info about each. Before doing anything they printed up a quote with everything on it. There were a few other blood tests and a growth on her leg that he suggested we look into, these were also on the quote. We were given the option to chose what we wanted done as far as just treating the ear infection, which we had come in for, or looking into some of the other things they found. There was absolutely no pressure and being able to see what each would cost was very helpful. They have gained my trust. We will definitely be making Ajo vet clinic our new vet.

Experiencia fantástica: Our dog was attacked by coyotes she was seriously injured. We were not experienced in anything having to do with a pet emergency. We were referred to Ajo Vet by VCA. We were brought in to exam room within a minute of checking in our little girl was seen and taken back for surgery prep within 30 minutes of arriving. She was ready to come home within a few hrs. We are so greatful for everyone from front desk to Doc and techs were amazing. Thank you all!!

The Vet is likewise friendly and very knowledgeable. The issue with our dog was resolved quickly. We would recommend Ajo to any pet owner!

Experiencia fantástica: My dog was a new patient here, I was calling local vets all over Tucson, Ajo vet accommodated my dog into their schedule for the next morning ( that was so awesome). Upon arriving we were checked in right away. We only sat down for just a few minutes, then we got roomed right away. The assistant Sara was super kind not only to myself and my kids but to our dog. She noted everything down to let the doctor know what was going on. After waiting awhile in the room Dr. Mike came in, introduced himself and was so sweet to our dog, was gentle and kind, you could tell he is great at what he does and had experience in his field. He gave us a few options right away to think about so we could keep our dog comfortable at home due to leg pain. The office was upfront with options and cost for each option. There was no surprise fees and no pressure to do anything we weren't comfortable paying for. We left feeling happy with our visit and we will definitely be coming back. Dr. Mike and staff are awesome! Oh, they called the following day to see how my dog was feeling. I really appreciate that call. Thanks Ajo Vet Clinic ! I highly recommend!

Recently my 13 year boy transitioned to doggy heaven. I called to let them know that I would no longer be needing email reminders for his upcoming vaccine and wellness checks because he is no longer with us. A few days later I received a card from them expressing their condolences and all the staff wrote a kind note about my sweet boy. It was so thoughtful and honesty helped me so much during the grieving of my friend.

They take the time to explain to you exactly what's going on with your pet. They explain any medication they may be prescribing or any tests that are needed. I love that they will answer all your questions without rushing you out the door. It's obvious they love what they do. This applies to each Doctor. Dr Mike is the best. They are very good about squeezing you in if you have a sick pet. I appreciate that they genuinely care and are not just trying to get every penny out of you that they can. I brought my dog in after noticing some concerning symptoms, and unfortunately, the diagnosis was cancer. What was most upsetting wasn’t just the news—it was how it was delivered. The vet was extremely cold and clinical, showing little to no empathy. It felt like she was just checking off a box rather than talking to someone who had just been told their pet is seriously ill. There was no comfort, no compassion, and very little effort to explain next steps or what this diagnosis really meant. I left feeling more confused and heartbroken than when I walked in. I understand that vets deal with hard situations often, but I believe compassion should always be part of the job—especially in moments like these.

Experiencia negativa: Every time I visit, the doctors always seem to overly care for your pet as if I don’t do a good job. They give this face like they doubt your ability to love and care for your own pet. It’s always been uncomfortable talking to the doctors since Ive been coming here. Ofc some of us cannot pay over $500-$1,000 just like that, and because of that I get the guilty looks and shame talks from the doctors. The vet techs are always sweeter and more kinder with their words But it doesn’t make up for how I have to see these doctors who no longer have that kind respect to owners. I rather go to Nogales Sonora.

Experiencia negativa: Took my dog in October for an annual exam and to have her shot records updated so I could take her to PetSmart for grooming. That was completed and after taking her a couple of times to Petsmart unfortunately had to return a for an ingrown declaw. After her procedure I was presented a bill for trimming the nails, multiple medications, and a $75 charge fon an “annual exam” when all they did was weigh the animal and ask if she’s been eating and using the restroom normally. After politely asking the reason for this charge since we had just been there only a couple months prior the tech stated, “Oh its just is added on every pets’ visit.” I then requested to have it removed which was immediately declined so in turn I could not afford the additional necessary medication. A month later I called today to schedule my second pet to have his ear checked and shot records updated and after being on hold for 10min I was informed that I am no longer welcome at their facility due to my inability to pay for necessary medication and my unpleasant demeanor..

Experiencia fantástica: I was pleasantly surprised that I got an appointment within a day. The Vet, the assistant, and the office help were all very personable and caring. I was seen and put in a room within a few minutes. They treated my dog which included a checkup and testing within an hour. They contacted me the next day to see progress and to go over results . Since I have lived in Tucson, this was the best regular Vet clinic I have been to.

They cared for her infections and pain prior and after her dental surgery and even took the time to talk to me and explain everything both before and after her surgery. They did everything in their power to help work within my budget and theirs to help my Poe out with her dental disease. 12/10 recommend this vet group. They go above and beyond and the entire staff is so kind and helpful. Thank you all so much! We will be back for all our veterinary needs in the future. Well worth the hour drive from Sierra vista for the level of care they provide.

Experiencia negativa: I would never recommend anyone taking their pets to this place. My baby boy was diagnosed with lymphoma, when the vet called me to discuss treatment I told her I need to think about what route we would be taking and would call them back. The very next day I called to discuss our decision on treatment and was told the Vet would call me back, the next day no call so I called every day for a week the first couple times the receptionist stated they will have the Vet call me back but after the 3rd call they stopped answering my calls and I never heard for them until it was time for my baby's annual vaccine. Now I keep getting text and emails on the importance of vaccines. My baby died and I'm not saying it's Ajo Pet Clinics fault but had there not been a delayed in treatment I would have had more time with him. It's very unprofessional to not follow up with your patients especially in a life or death situation.

The staff are very dedicated to providing great care to the animals they see. While I was here last time, I overheard a phone call one of the techs were on. Apparently, it was a wrong number, but she took the time to look up the business online that the person on the other end was trying to reach and making sure they had what they needed. That is amazing. Customer service means taking care of every customer that comes your way, even wrong numbers. Haha. I wish I knew her name to give her recognition, but she was turned away.

When we walked into the room DR Mike sat down, faced me and proceeded to look at me and listen to EVERYTHING I had to say, explain. I was so sure everything would be glossed over or I would miss something so I was trying to hurry and say everything. He didn't get bored, frustrated or stare at a point behind my shoulder. He let me talk and came up with questions and then went through the tests and why he wanted to run them. By the time we got to Ajo Vet, Lola (my dog), had been sick for a while due to other vets never running ANY tests and telling me to figure things out on my own. She went through a lot and was very sick. Ajo Vet was a cool glass of water to a heartbroken mama. She had more going on with her because she was not diagnosed by other vets. They held my hand, broke everything down for me (financially and diagnostically), explained everything, came up with game plans, laughed with me, compassionate when I got discouraged and very very loving with Lola. She is also never scared when we go there. A lot has happened in her little life and I know she is in good hands. We all are. I respect and appreciate all of them and what they choose to come in and do everyday. My dad and Lola share a special and deep bond. He has a heart condition and he would not have survived the grief of loosing her. So, to an extent, they also saved him. I can't thank them enough or recommend them enough. This is a special place and these are special people.

Vet assistant came in, asked us a few question, gave my dog some pets and walked out. “Vet” came in and immediately was defensive with her hands back just staring at my dog as she (very exaggerated) oh no I can’t treat your dog if he’s biting people (my dog hasn’t bitten anyone) in which she said “I don’t think this is the right place for you guys”. “Vet” had no social skills, seemed like she hated animals and seemed to be grossed out at the sight of him. My dog disliked her as much as I did. I will never use this filthy disgusting place again. Smells like parvo and throw up.

Experiencia fantástica: We found the Ajo Veterinary Clinic staff to be outstanding in their customer service and attention to detail. Our dog has been very ill and we needed a veterinarian who could diagnose and treat her. This is what we found at Ajo in a timely manner. We had been to another Veterinary emergency hospital and to say we were less than happy with their treatment would be an understatement.

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my cat to Ajo Vet Clinic twice. 18 months ago he needed abdominal surgery, and just last week he needed a less intense outpatient procedure. I do not usually participate in the whole review circus, but I feel that the folks at this clinic really deserve recognition. On both occasions, I have been impressed with the culture of compassion and professionalism at this business that is expressed by the entire team. It is clear that animal welfare is the highest priority of this business--it is a labor of love and not just there to make profit. My pet received top-notch care, and their fees are extremely reasonable. When I was at the clinic, no one tried to upsell me to extra services or products. We received care from different doctors there, and I think they often host traveling veterinarians. Because the compassion and professionalism there is in the culture of the business, my feeling of trust in the clinic extends to the team and management rather than resting only with particular staff members, and I feel I can trust whoever is there to take good care of my pet without trying to take advantage of my pocketbook.

Experiencia fantástica: I adopted by 3 month old pup, Finn, in October and he needed his vaccines within the week. I called Ajo veterinary clinic and Mackenzie was able to accommodate us rather quickly. As soon as I got there, the front staff, especially Mackenzie, were so loving towards Finn and got us in a room right away. Dr Swenson was amazing during that wellness check and calmed all of my new dog mom anxieties! I had to take my pup in a couple of times after that for his vaccine boosters and Mackenzie, knowing how anxious Finn was, made sure to give him all the cuddles while they administered the vaccines. I recently had to take Finn in due to unexplained diarrhea and Dr. Mike took care of him (again, he got all the cuddles). Dr. Mike and staff took their time to explain everything to me, handled Finn with care, checked in on us after the appointment, and answered all of my emails. I couldn't have asked for a better clinic!

Experiencia fantástica: They were very nice and gentle with my very scared cat. I believe that they took good care of my little girl, and they were very kind to a worried cat dad. They also take good care of one of my roommates dogs so I felt comfortable going there.

Experiencia fantástica: Fast forward to Jan 23 2024 and Millie is doing great so we adopted another kitty to be her BFF…Mollie got her introduction to Ajo Vet Clinic for a checkup and a calendar date to get fixed and of course we had a great experience from start to finish! This place has the best caring professionals in town and they are just awesome!! Millie and now Mollie too love this place and so do I My cat Millie May got a urinary tract infection and his regular vet wouldn’t see him until the middle of January!! So, I called Ajo vet and they took him in that very same day. Ajo was amazing and Millie May has a new vet! I can’t say enough how awesome, thorough, and caring the staff was with my little guy. We love you Ajo Vet clinic!!!

It was hard to get into my regular vet so I made appointment at Ajo clinic, the staff is very friendly attentive and I didn't have to wait weeks to get my pet seen when I called they saw him the same week and I was very happy with the service and the treatment they gave my dog so this will be my new veterinarian that I will bring my pets to I highly recommend

Experiencia fantástica: The best vet I’ve been to. Not only are the prices affordable, but all of the staff are kind. I took my malshi to Southern Arizona Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center and just to be seen was 150$. At Ajo Vet it was 200$ to be seen and have 2 meds. The pricing shows they care about the animals and not just about the money like so many others do.

Experiencia fantástica: Having been a regular client of Ajo Veterinary Clinic for many years, I continue to take my dogs there for care. Dr. Mike and all the staff members are friendly, helpful and informative, and treat my pets with kindness, compassion and good humor (for instance, Cookie, who is a bit timid, would not allow them to draw her blood while she was upright, preferring to roll onto her back and then allow it). Our next visit will be a piece of cake!

They answered every question I had thoroughly. I would absolutely recommend them for any of your pet needs

Experiencia negativa: I called to ask for an ophthalmology specific appt. and they replied that absolutely they could provide it; upon showing up for appt., I asked again that it would be an ophthalmologist to see her, and again they said yes it would be. She was seen by a regular vet and I was charged for a wellness visit and it turned out the vet only told me what might have caused blindness....it was NOT an ophthalmology visit at all. Either they didn't know, didn't listen, or lied to me.

Experiencia fantástica: Ajo Veterinary Clinic has been excellent in treating our rescue dog. He was found with abscess/infection, valley fever, skin condition and was not neutered or microchipped. They treated and provided all the services we needed. Our dog is healthy and happy.
