Experiencia negativa: Felt like my animal was in good hands and no need for his muzzle this time I want to add in on this that I was very happy with St. Mary’s until the last couple times I have taken Donald there. He was supposed to have surgery for his skin cancer, and I feel like I was taking advantage of and the job was not done properly the area that was a concern that was supposed to be cut out and stitched up I don’t believe was done right I think she just cauterize the spot and it has grown back 100% or even worse. I’m having to take him to another vet just a month and a half later and this was costing me $1000 so now I’m gonna go another thousand dollars in the hole most likely I am very pissed off at St. Mary’s. They never even called back to take out his stitches. I was very busy with the holidays and work and kind of slipped my mind about his stitches and I had to call in to get his stitches taken out. I’m very upset about that this place has gone downhill and I think it’s time for Donald and me to go find a new vet. If I could give them zero stars, I would

Also, my dog does not do well around other dogs and they made accommodations to keep my dog and other clients' dogs safe. Great job! I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else.

Experiencia negativa: I took my elderly male Chihuahua on Friday the 6th cuz he wasn't eating and I knew it was his teeth everything was fine until on Sunday I noticed the prescription for the antibiotics on the label said 14 tablets and it came in a packet where you had to poke it it get the pill out well I counted only 10 pills in the packet and mind you I paid $47 for these pills so I call them up Monday and they said there's no way that there can only be 10 pills unless someone cut across the packet I look at the packet and sure enough someone cut off the packet and I told them that they said well we have someone double check them why would I lie about 4 pills missing I know when you are on antibiotics it's usually a 14 days thing. They literally told me you can come in and get more pills but you will be charged full price for them. I was like are you kidding me it was their fault I live alone no one was with me from the day I took my dog there and the whole weekend so your telling me I have to buy more when it was your guys mistake about the quantity the paperwork said 14 and so did the sticker on the envelope they came in but there was only 10 pills and I'm supposed to give it to him every 12 hours now I have to give it to him once a day because of their mess up. Very unprofessional and my mom referred them to me cuz she takes her animals there I will never go there again and I will tell everyone I know not to take their animals there because of this They just lost my business and my mom's plus all the people I know. I disgusted that it was their mistake and they couldn't correct it why would I lie about 4 pills come on DONT BRING ANY ANIMALS TO THIS PLACE WHOEVER COUNTS THE MEDICATION OUT DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO COUNT OBVIOUSLY.

Experiencia negativa: I'm quite conflicted because I've been taking my dogs here for several years and things started out strong and I was happy with the care they received. I appreciate that we never had to wait more than a few minutes, and the person at the front desk and on the phone is always super kind. Where I feel a bit conflicted is with the care my dogs have received in the last year. In April my dog started showing super concerning symptoms almost overnight and when I brought her in for her appointment I feel as though I was written off as being overly dramatic/concerned almost immediately. The vet I saw was one we had not met before, and it was clear that she immediately zoned in on what she thought the issue was and lowkey disregarded everything else I was saying. My dog was spinning in circles uncontrollably, could not see out of one eye, and had lost her entire sense of direction. The vet said it could be an ear infection or valley fever which is very reasonable, but she also kept mentioning that sometimes mini Aussies are just quirky and one day go kind of randomly crazy. She kept harping on the quirky thing and it felt like she had a strong bias. By the time I was getting ready to leave I was in tears because my dog was clearly struggling so much and it was super hard to watch. The tech looked at me like I was insane for lightly crying and the vet was also like woah, no need to cry yet! The tech honestly seemed rude but the vet was clearly empathetic which I appreciated. BUT, I ended up at the emergency vet 3 times within the next 72 hours, and at a freaking neurologist getting my dog a spinal tap and MRI just one week later. Turns out the quirky behavior was actually due to inflammation in her brain (MUO), and if I had waited around and not followed up persistently with outside care my dog would likely have been dead within a week or two. She still had a high chance of dying in the ensuing months but has luckily made a slow and steady recovery. Outside of once during that first week St. Mary's has never reached out to check in on her or even see if she was still alive, and that kind of bummed me out. I also feel like they took advantage of me when I brought my other dog in for a potential eye infection a few months ago. It probably wasn't a big enough deal to even warrant medication but they dangle the "what-if" over you and next thing you know you're another $100+ poorer. The last few experiences have just bummed me out and we've decided to move on.

Experiencia fantástica: Every veterinarian that has ever examined a pet for me has been competent, yet some really stand out. Dr. Crawford is one of those who really stands out. She listens carefully, she responds to what is said, she gives appropriate information, and she lets you know her concerns about your pet. Sounds easy right? It's not. I was visiting with a very old friend, a dog who is 18-years old. Dr. Crawford was completely sensitive about my feelings for this old guy, and yet she still spoke freely about possible diagnoses, and risks involved in possible treatments. I am the son of veterinarian, and this was exactly what I needed to hear, straight talk with empathy. My old friend is not at the end of his life quite yet, but she told me how to think about that eventuality when it comes. It was a gift.

They were so kind and reassuring me it was the right thing to do. 3 days out I know it was right. I hope anyone in that same position will see this and choose this place. It was so calm and quiet. She had a peaceful transition.

Experiencia negativa: I wish I could give zero stars. I brought my kitten into St.Marys because he was having loose stools and after a scan we found out he had a mass in his tummy, likely cancer. I understand the vets office can’t control the outcome or likelihood of a pet who’s ill but the compassion we were shown was absent. I feel like this office is only concerned about money and they do not genuinely care about the pet and definitely not about the owner. Such a shame , when we brought out dog here years ago the office was a lot more understanding and supportive. We will not be returning.

Experiencia negativa: I have established care for my dogs for many years ago with Dr. Gabe. I took my dog recently and was surprised he doesn't work there anymore. He was the epitome of an excellent veterinarian. The new Veterinarian recommended excessive test costing over $900.00. In my years of taking my dog to this clinic, not once did he recommended excessive test. He was able to treat my dog with 2 or 3 test. He was honest and knowledgeable. I had declined all test except antibiotics. I was told to seek care for my dog elsewhere. Obviously, she was upset that I declined unnecessary test. I would rather take my dog to a Vet who is honest, knowledgeable and compassionate. Good luck!

Experiencia positiva: I saw a relief vet that I had not seen before with my Australian Shephard Rider. She was a good vet, listened and examined my dog thoroughly. We agreed to do a blood panel and Valley Fever test. The prices were in line for the times. The clinic was clean and I didn't have to wait long to be seen. The one thing I noticed, and it did make me feel a little unwelcome, nobody smiled!

Experiencia negativa: Originally from Illinois - take my Rot in due to joint pain (to ensure not broken bone due to injury) and to re-up her rabies shot. Once in, the vet asks if we are from here and once confirming we were not, she proceeds to use a scare tactic of possibly being Valley Fever, asking us to pay $400+ for blood testing along with what would turn into $500 for X-rays. After returning home and reviewing Valley Fever symptoms in dogs, my dog show NO indication that Valley Fever is even an option. And due to the vet indicating that she fears Valley Fever rather than possibly being broken we decided the vet was in it for the money.

They didn't mind looking at the picture I brought in advising to have the cat seen. Poor guy was in pain needing all teeth removed. Thank you for taking time to help!

Experiencia negativa: ***Edited Review because the system does not allow responses*** First, I was required to get blood work on my dog about a month ago and no meds were refilled then, which I was told they would be. Second, your policy is ever-changing and so are your hours. Thus, your "operating hour" policy does not make much sense. Are you suggesting that 24-48 hours means you need 3-5 full business days to do a refill? I would expect a medical clinic to be able to check voicemails over the weekend (which your phone does not accept) or for refills to be made at the end of a Friday. Third, I could be mistaken, but I believe St. Mary's Animal Clinic is corporate owned. Please correct me if I am wrong and please direct me to the actual owners so I can address my issues to them. Fourth, it is sad that a business requires a 1* review in order to do its job. This should have been done weeks ago. In any case, I am going to find a new vet. Thanks. ***Original review below*** This place has gone down hill. They don't call in meds when they say they will and the prices have become ridiculous since it was bought out by corporate vet medicine. Very disappointed in this clinic.

Experiencia fantástica: The office manager Megan gave us a friendly greeting upon arrival. There was a sign on display welcoming by name all of the patients being seen that day. My cat was seen very quickly, and I was allowed to go into the examing room with her. Both the vet assistant and doctor were very kind and gentle with my cat and made me feel that they took a personal interest in her. All charges were explained clearly. My experience with St. Mary's was in stark contrast to my last experience at a veterinary clinic in Tucson, which had been less than satisfactory. I definitely recommend the caring staff at St. Mary's Animal Clinic.

Experiencia negativa: So we took my dog to St Mary’s Animal clinic on February 26, 2024. We got some medication for her ear. She had an infection. Well now I’m looking at the bottle and it says prescribed February 26, 2024 and it expires January 30, 2024 which means it expired a whole month before it was prescribed to my dog. That’s just disgusting. Come on St. Mary’s animal clinic get it together. I didn’t bring my dog in to receive infected medicine, I brought my dog in to clear up an infection. By the way her ear infection has not gotten any better, now I know why.

Experiencia negativa: If you have a fearful pet, DO NOT take them here. I had just adopted a puppy from a shelter who was very fearful of people and dogs, which the shelter had warned me about. Because of this, I wanted to find a good local vet who I thought would have experience working with fearful dogs. It was the exact opposite. The vet tech approached my dog way too quickly, reaching over his head, even though I had just explained his fear of new people. Then, when he barked, understandably, she condescendingly scolded me about how it was my fault that my dog was barking. I thought it was common sense to not abruptly approach a fearful dog and I am shocked that a professional who works with dogs does not know how to read their body language or listen to their owners when I explained his fearfulness. I had the biggest issues with the vet tech working with my dog because the doctor only saw him for about 2 minutes. Even worse, the clinic was extremely disorganized and unprofessional. I gave them his vaccine paperwork, but clearly they couldn't read because they tried to give him a shot he didn't need for another month. They would have given him the shot if I would not have said something. Then, they also gave us heartworm prevention medication without testing for heartworm first, which can be DEADLY. Since this experience my dog has progressed tremendously and is no longer fearful of people, dogs, or vets no thanks to St. Mary's Animal Clinic.

Experiencia fantástica: I called these guys to set up a vet for a potential pup I do not yet have and the lady was warm and friendly and started a chart for us. I feel that my puppy will be well seen to and cared for with these folks.

Experiencia fantástica: I wanted to take this time to review this clinic and our wonderful experiences. We have now gone three times. I absolutely LOVE all of the techs we have had. And usually that is what deters is most from a vet! The techs are so patient with my girl, kind, and of course give her lots of love and praises. The vets are very knowledgeable and kind as well. I never feel like they’re trying to push a procedure or medication that’s not super necessary. Again, I’ve had past experiences at other vets where they make you feel like you need to test your dog for every issue that could possibly be an issue and then drown you in testing and medication bills. Will be taking my dog here from now on! And will be sharing what such a good experience we have there.

Experiencia fantástica: St. Mary's Animal Clinic is exactly what I was looking for!! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, as well as accommodating! New puppers can be a handful and they made the whole process so easy!! Dr. Bigelow is the BEST. My German Shepherd is 13 months old now and Dr. Bigelow (Dr. Pyres too!) has been with us every step of the way, reassuring this paranoid dog mom at every turn! The staff there is also AMAZING and my Vader loves them. He's always excited and happy to see them. I wouldn't trust my furbaby to anyone else!!

Experiencia fantástica: Yesterday I took my Chiweenie in for his exam. Dr. Pires was very kind to him, speaking softly and rubbing behind his ears (he even let her look in his ears and teeth!). She suggested an ear wash solution to help keep his ears clean. Another great experience at St. Mary's!
