Experiencia fantástica: I've been taking my dogs here for over a decade for all their veteranary needs and adore all of the staff. All the staff who work in the front office have always been friendly from the moment I step through the door until we leave and the vet techs and doctors are amazing. Over the years my dogs have been seen by both Dr. Oa and Dr. Lockhart. Both of these veteranarians are kind, gentle and extremely thorough during the examinations with my fur babies. They both have WONDERFUL bedside manners, and take all the time needed to address all of your questions and concerns. I've even received phone calls well after their closing time to review test results and discuss how my fur babies are doing! I very recently referred a friend here who is extremely protective over who she will allow her16 year old chihuahua to be seen by, and she LOVED Dr. Oa! I enthusiastically and HIGHLY recommend Tempe Lake Vet Clinic and Resort!

My Bengal cat had a teeth cleaning and they kept me informed with every step. I highly recommend them.

Experiencia negativa: Saw them on the internet and called about there angel fund because my disabled senior citizen friends chiwawa had ben hit by a car last week and had ben seen at er. Now she just need a welness check and help with payment for meds. I was told some extravagant reason why they could not help . Plus the fact there was NO funds in angel funds and beside it was not for general help it was only if certain procedures worked then and only then the angel fund could help with the meds . So confusing and heartbreaking all n the same . So im not sure if I should earge to donate for this vets angel fund because it seems there are catches to it. It is certainly not for pet owners in hardship to recieve vet care. So some ointment for a couple scraps and a vet to look at him for Mrs lillys piece of mind will not be available via this vet..I would suggest having a sheet with other resources if your clinic is limited and please be more transparent of angel funds use if it is so conditioned

Experiencia negativa: They lost my dogs blood test, never followed up on him, only realized the test had been lost when I called repeatedly asking for the results. Delayed his care by weeks waiting for test results. Besides this incident, I think the techs at this facility are wonderful, and provide good care and information. I received more thoughtful education from them than from the vets.

Experiencia fantástica: This was my first visit with my furbaby and we had a great experience here. My cat arrived meowing her head off and within 5 minutes she calmed down. Every staff member I came in contact with was nice. The visit went smooth and they handled my Kiki with care and confidence. I was pleasantly surprised that my cat cooperated and gave them no problems. The vet was listened to my concerns and went over everything in great detail. This will be my vet clinic for both my kitties going forward. Highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot say enough good things about Tempe Lake Veterinary Clinic and the care they showed us during one of the hardest days of our lives. From our first visit, the compassion was evident. Our vet tech, Janissa, was incredibly patient and gentle with Wrigley, allowing him to sniff her tools and move at his own pace while taking his vitals - it immediately put us at ease. Dr. Denlinger was equally wonderful, she carefully explained our options, answered every question, and reassured us repeatedly that this was nothing we could have caused or prevented. We never once felt rushed and were given time and space to process everything. On the day we said goodbye, the entire staff was prepared and so kind. We were escorted directly to a private room, given a small comfort bag, and treated with such care and respect. Janissa walked us through every step, stayed with us, and showed so much love to Wrigley. Both she and Dr. Denlinger cried with us, shared memories, and honored him in the most compassionate way. This clinic made an unbearable situation as peaceful and loving as it could possibly be. We will forever be grateful to Janissa, Dr. Denlinger, and the entire staff for the dignity, empathy, and kindness they showed our family and our sweet boy.

Experiencia fantástica: Our cat needed surgery to remove a sewing needle from her stomach. The surgery went very well, cat is doing well and the Staff and doctors have been so kind and comprehensive with the recovery.

Experiencia negativa: We’ve been customers here a long time, but ever since they moved locations it has gone severely downhill. Unfortunately, this ended up likely taking a couple of months off our senior beagle Millie’s life. We mentioned increased peeing and discharge in August, and went through the necessary treatments for a UTI—we saw some temporary relief but then it returned a couple months later and underwent a series of lab tests, etc for several months. I am not joking when we had to BEG for test results back on 3 separate occasions. First time, they forgot to take a urine test, resulting in a couple weeks delay due to us traveling. Second time, they tested it for the wrong things too slowly, so by the time they got the results back, they had to ask her to come in again—this took about a week and a half of us repeatedly calling asking to hear the results. Third time, it was another week or so until we got results and it was the same “not sure what this is, I need to look into it”. After a month of not hearing anything, we took her to a specialist and they immediately found a mass on her bladder and gave her 3-4 months. To say I’m disappointed in the treatment is an understatement. I understand they are busy, but it seems like they may have scaled up without taking the possibility of a steep decline in care into account

Experiencia fantástica: My family adopted a cat from the humane society two months ago. She started sneezing so we brought her to this vet, and it was easy and convenient bc we live across the street. All staff was amazing, our kitty was scared and wet herself and gave us towels and wipes to clean up. The vet was nice and thorough and reassured us that we were giving her appropriate care and prescribed us some medicine with follow up advice. We’ll be back for her annual teeth cleaning and any other follow up appointments :) thank you for caring for our baby like she was yours!

Experiencia negativa: Do not take your dog here for boarding. I discover the holidays and instead of giving my dog the prerequisite shots for boarding to keep her safe, they decided to try to do it on her way out. The whole point of the shots is to keep her safe while she is being boarded not for them to add to the balance prior to pickup. I’ve been a customer for nearly 14 years and I will never take my dog here again. The negligence this place shows makes me concerned for the trust I’ve placed in this vet for the last decade. Do not board your animals here or if you do make sure they do the preventative stuff before they accept your animal.

Experiencia negativa: Our pet went from a healthy to dead in less than 8 days after a recent stay at the new facility. There have multiple issues since the move to the location on University Drive including our devasting loss. Billing/scheduling is one thing, but I never thought the safety and care of my dog would be in jeopardy. I dropped my dogs off on 12/21/25. I received a call the next day because my dog had fallen during play time. They said the vet was unavailable but would examine Hank in the morning & update me on his condition. 12/22/25 the vet called to say everything seemed okay, but would monitor him + wanted to provide Hank carprofen. I approved treatment but informed the vet that Hank does not eat or drink well while boarding nor while on medication, which was a greater concern. The vet noted in his records, “Owner did remind me that he does not eat well and to make sure he eats with carprofen as it can cause GI signs, discussed we would only give it with food and would continue until pick up time.” 12/28/25, I arrived shortly before noon for pick up. The tech emerged with both dogs and a bottle of the carprofen and nothing else (they normally provide notes about the stay). Immediately, I noticed Hank had lost weight and was extremely lethargic. He was not his normal high energy excited pup. When asked about his demeanor, the tech said something to the effect of “well, it is probably the medication.” I took my dogs to my vehicle. After further inspection, it was clear something was wrong with Hank. When I ran my hand along his coat, excessive amounts of hair fell out. He was trembling and clearly had lost weight. I went back inside and asked for the vet’s report and if he was available. I was told there were no notes. Frustrated, I left. Upon returning home and being able to fully inspect him, it was abundantly clear he was malnourished/sick/weak. I provided him with treats, food, and water. He did not sniff or attempt to take anything I provided. I called at 12:25 pm to speak with the vet and I was told, “he is on vacation for the holidays.” I inquired when the last day he worked and when he was returning. I was told me December 24th and returning after the New Year. I asked for different vet and was told I would need to wait until he returned. I tried to get him comfortable and thought by being home he might reset, but by 2:55 he was getting worse. His breathing was labored, gums were white, and snout was ice cold. We checked into an emergency vet at 3:09 pm on the same day (the 28th). He was dead by 5:00 pm. They said he was extremely dehydrated, multiple blood readings were not normal, and that his heart was beating too rapidly. They hooked him up to an IV, but it was no help. The emergency clinic said his body had gone into shock and was not strong enough to withstand any procedures. He had lost 6% of his body weight in less than 8 days (probably more like 6 days from when he started the medication). I called Tempe Lake to find out what happened and was told I would need to wait until the attending vet returned to speak with him. They were aware Hank had died and zero effort made by the team or management to help me better understand what happened. I called multiple times to ask various questions. I spoke to one receptionist who sent me the notes from the vets exam. I spoke with another who stated, “yeah, there are three or four new employees working in the boarding area.” The real kick in the gut was when the vet, Joseph Lockhart D.V.M., called on 1/5/26. He could not answer simple questions like: before you left town, did you communicate to another vet about Hank’s status? Were the employees feeding aware of my concern with Hank not eating while on medication? Were my dogs served at the same time or separately? The best he could offer was, “I can look into it and see if they were feed separately or together.” It was clear that neither Dr. Lockhart nor the staff working during the stay paid Hank adequate attention. Be careful who you trust with the safety of your loved ones. It is too late for Hank.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Joseph Lockhart was the veterinarian who first told us that our dog, Bradley, might have lymphoma back in April 2025. While the news was devastating, he delivered it with compassion and care. He acted quickly to get us an appointment at Salt River Veterinary Clinic, and that urgency meant everything to us. I’m truly grateful for the care and speed he showed during one of the hardest moments we’ve faced.

Experiencia fantástica: I dropped off my baby this morning for her first ever appointment here, since her normal groomer retired. I was SO nervous brining her in, the sweet ladies at the front were knowledgeable, understanding, and helped ease my nervousness. We picked up Gigi and she looks great and Sarah the groomer was SO kind and gentle with Gigi, her cut looks great. I will now be a returning customer and so much so that I will be switching to this veterinary care as well. Thank you!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Best Vet Dr. Ou!!! Reggie loves her and when he stays at the pet resort. When we pick him up he's happy and I know he's been well taken care of. He's stayed at other kennels and can hardly wait to leave when I pick him up.

My German Shepard gets overwhelmed quickly and can be a lot to handle, but the staff is always so patient, gentle, and kind. They make each visit easier for both of us, and I truly appreciate the care they show each time. Sarah his groomer is the absolute sweetest and has so much patience for my Booker. Experiencia fantástica: We’ve been going here for about a year now and I cannot say enough about the quality of care your pet will get. We have a german shepherd named Karma, who use to HATE getting groomed. No matter where we went she wouldn't even want to go inside and hated when I left. Since we've been going here she gets so excited to be there and see her amazing groomer Sarah. Sarah is the sweetest and treats her so well! We have also boarded here several times and have gotten great service, which is very fairly priced as well! I brought her to get groomed once and the girls who watched her while Karma was previously boarded came over to say hi to her and she instantly lit up. I cant say enough good things about this place and it is all because of the amazing staff and the love they give our pets. If you are looking for a groomer, vet, or boarding this is seriously the place to go!

I came into today after 3 years, because of issues with another vet we were going to. Angelica (I hope I spelled it right), was absolutely amazing, For 2 hours care credit, was difficult. She called them several times, was so kind to me, as I’m crying. She patiently helped me so my fur baby could get groomed, and she was in bad need of it. CHRIS is her groomer, She has always been so wonderful to Sugar. She takes her right back, and grooms her so beautifully. Experiencia fantástica: My dog Bentley was due for his routine visit and some vaccines so we visited the new office location on University Dr. Everyone was friendly at the front desk and our tech Janissa was the sweetest! Bentley was really nervous getting on the scale but she was patient with him and used some treats to get him to cooperate. In the exam room Janissa was informative on the vaccines Bentley was due for and outlined the cost of everything. Dr Belau was also very kind and friendly. She was able to quickly look over Bentley and confirm he’s healthy. Overall I’ve always enjoyed our visits to Tempe Lake Vet!

Dr. Lockhart is caring and truly takes his time with the animals and all my dogs have felt comfortable and even happy to go to the vet and see him. The vet techs are all amazing, and most recently Janissa has been kind and caring to my new puppy Mabel. 10/10 recommend to all my friends with pets.

Experiencia fantástica: I’m so happy with TLVC! The hours are so convenient for those that have little flexibility in their schedule. I took my recently rescued kitten for a well-being check. They were thorough and explained everything they suggested. They didn’t try to upsell on services. When I got the final bill, I was shocked at how affordable it was! A little over $200 for a full check, blood testing, deworming, nail clip, and more! I was expecting about $500 based on my past experiences with vets. They have a great service plan, which I opted for, that provides for necessary treatments and services for the first year. The assistant and Dr. L were gentle and caring with my new little one. Dr. L asked about other pets in the home, and gave me advice on keeping them safe, as well as little kitty for the next few months. I’ll be taking my dogs, who haven’t been to a vet in years, solely because of the great service and affordability at TLVC.

Every time we would go in my dog was dragging me in and so excited to greet the everyone at the front desk. I have never seen a dog so excited to go to the vet. Unfortunately, we moved out of state and one of the hardest parts has been finding a clinic as good as this one. You can tell that each person working there has a big heart for animals

Experiencia negativa: Extremely overpriced and they don't tell you how much anything is until you get a massive bill at the end. If you come here, make sure you get quotes for everything including what they want to perform. Really shady business practices here. EDIT: "We always strive to be transparent with our pricing..." No you don't. I even told them after I got my bill and they acted like I was being unreasonable for expecting to have known in advance the prices/services you charged me hundreds of dollars. And no, you're not competitive, I shopped around. There are places that are a FRACTION of the cost. Word of advice to pet owners, SHOP AROUND.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Brianna Capria is really great. Before meeting with her today we had lots of concerns that we felt needed to be shared when creating a treatment plan for our dog, Bear. She not only spent the time with us and let us voice our concerns, but allowed us to share with her our (limited) medical understanding of the issue at hand and ask questions. She was non-judgmental in our final decision for Bear, and explained the different over-the-counter recommendations she had for him. 10/10. Professional, RELATABLE, and kind. She is the kind of provider our medical system needs.

Experiencia fantástica: I would give them 100 stars if I could. 5 yrs ago, my sweet baby Chucky, an orange tabby, who was not part of the feral colony at my complex, but got captured in one of the TNR’s my neighbor & I did. He was so lovable & friendly, I figured he had to be somebody’s pet, but after unsuccessfully finding anyone who he belonged to, I believed he had been abandoned, so I took him in, best decision I’ve ever made. I’m not from Phoenix so I wasn’t familiar with any Veterinary clinics in this area. One of my neighbors recommended Tempe Lake, I am so grateful she did, every single person here who I’ve come into contact with, from the front office staff, to the Vet techs & the Vets, have all been amazing, helpful, kind, caring human beings. Chucky was older when I took him in, and he had a lot of health issues that required expensive tests & treatments. I wasn’t smart enough to get pet insurance, I’m not even sure if I would’ve been able to get him decent insurance anyway because of his age so I ended up spending a lot of (well spent) money on him. The Vets always gave me the best recommendations for treatments but they would also let me know if there were any optional treatments that might fit my budget better. Every time I received any concerning news about his health, even if it didn’t mean the end of his life, I would bawl like baby, which I’m sure they’re used to, but never the less, everybody was always so compassionate. Several months ago, Chucky was diagnosed with diabetes, I tried a new oral insulin that seemed to be working well but a couple weeks ago he seemed off & he was limping so I brought him in & received the news that no pet parent ever wants to hear, he was in the beginning stages of organ failure & the best thing for him would be to euthanize him before it progressed any further, resulting in pain & suffering. I brought him home to spend some extra quality time with him during his last couple days. When I arrived back at the clinic on Chucky’s final day, they already had a room set up for us, with a sweet little gift bag for me that included tissues, a wonderfully scented candle that has a sweet poem on it, and a pack of “Forget Me Not” seeds. They let me spend time alone with Chucky before & after, and said I could hold him in my arms the entire time which meant the world to me, and I’m sure Chucky too. I’ve gone with 2 of my friends when they had to say goodbye to their fur babies at different clinics, there was absolutely nothing wrong with either of those experiences, but I feel that Tempe Lake definitely went above & beyond for me & my fur baby. Chucky was cremated, you can see in the last photo just how beautifully they sent him home to me. I will forever be grateful to everyone at Tempe Lake Veterinary clinic for the amazing care they gave my sweet baby, and the compassion they showed me.

Experiencia fantástica: My sister's gerbansky gets dolled up here. She's sooo fuzzy and she's hard to comply with nail trimming, but one of the ladies found her way to get it done! The people here are kind and really care about you and your animal. The cost is comparable to most groomers and if you need a vet ,you're already there!

The staff members were incredibly calming and compassionate during our sensitive and difficult time of putting our dog down. Open on Sundays, which is when we had to go so it’s open 7 days a week and 10/10 recommend

From making the appointment, checking in, initial examination and follow up Tempe lake's staff were professional, clear and kind. Even our cat (Naia), who is usually extra stressed at and after vet visits, was quick to warm up to them and return to her usual antics when we got home after the exam and treatment! Comparing with other clinics, even their treatment plans and pricing were meaningfully less difficult and expensive. As our kitty is getting older, we expect her needs will be growing in time, but we are less concerned with being able to afford to get her the care she needs thanks to Tempe Lake.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been to both Tempe Lake Vet Clinic & The Scottsdale Vet Clinic and I love them both. The staff are super nice and even call to check in on your pet the next day. Dr. Lockhart is an amazing vet. He is very honest and seems to genuinely care about your pet. He will try different methods if something is wrong and not jump to the most expensive option. He was the first vet I ever saw when my dog was a puppy and he remembered them both. Also, the office staff at Tempe Lake Vet is the sweetest. The girls are so nice and very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this vet clinic as well as Dr. Lockhart to any of my friends needing a vet.

After a rough experience at a commercial pet store, my dog was anxious and half groomed haha so I went into TLVC pretty nervous for my pup's grooming appointment. Both the person at the front desk and Sarah in the grooming department made me feel at ease. Sarah welcomed us in, my dog was so calm and happy to be with her. She was communicative about how my dog's grooming session went and my dog was so happy when we picked him up. Neither of us fear the groomer anymore and can't wait to see Sarah and everyone at TLVC again.

Experiencia fantástica: Our pups Bingo (chiweenie) and Flynn (cattle dog) love coming to stay at Tempe Lake Pet Resort. We’ve been coming here for 3 years now. We also have used the veterinarian services here over the years and the doctors have been kind and caring. We’ve had the teeth cleaning services for our boys, and I’m happy to report they are well cared for in all the various care methods provided. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful. The pet resort staff clearly enjoying seeing the pups when we bring them in. So lucky to have this place so close to our home… until the move to the new updated facility next year. When he gets stressed people seem to only see that he's a pitbull, when he's really a sweetie, and you guys saw that right away and that warmed my heart! I also love that you sent an email with a PDF of the visit notes because sometimes it's hard to remember everything from the visit! I was very happy with our first visit ever, and I really love the subscription plan to pay a little monthly to get annual testings and shots done without paying out of pocket for them. It's super helpful to be able to get those things done when needed instead of having to save money up for a while! Thank you guys so much! And PUP thanks you so much!

Experiencia fantástica: I have had nothing but great experiences with Tempe Lake Vet Clinic! The front desk ladies are always really upbeat and happy to see my dog. They are super friendly and quick with the check out/ check in process. The veterinarian is great with my dog Ollie. The dental work prices are so inexpensive and I wouldn’t get Ollie’s teeth cleaned anywhere else! I give this clinic 5 stars!

Experiencia fantástica: WILL NEVER BORD MY CAT ANYWHERE ELSE. I have been very impressed with everything that the Tempe lake veterinary clinic and boarding has to offer. The first time we borded our cat, Lola, I was a little nervous, but after meeting the staff all of my worries melted away. All of the staff members have been incredibly sweet, compassionate, caring and have a great love for animals. Every time we take Lola here she is very excited to see some familiar faces. Knowing that it is a veterinary clinic is such a relief as well because if anything happens I know that she wound be taken care of. Over all if you are looking for a board for your pets I highly, highly recommend coming here.

Experiencia negativa: A month ago I brought my 12yr old cat in for breathing problems. The same week my dog passed away of CHF. Since my dog passed the same week they told me I was overthinking the death of my dog and said my cat was fine then charged me $75 for the visit. I tried explaining a few times to the vet/doctor this was not normal for her. After a month I’ve found out that my cat had numerous problems. Sonoran Sky Pet Hospital (Dobson & Guadalupe) was able to help me and make my feelings feel valued along with taking their time with both my cat and myself. Not only was their service spectacular, they are a new practice and looking for more clients. They are also cheaper than Tempe Lake Vet Clinic. I recommend going to Sonoran Sky. They also offer scratch pay if you can’t afford the full bill at the time of service and you only pay $15 deposit.

Experiencia fantástica: My favorite vet so far. They helped my boy Dexter in his final years (he was 15 in the end! Very good life I like to think :) )and they even offered him grooming and boarding when I went out of town. I was always so happy with their service as he never seemed stressed or upset when he came home. People upfront knew him by name and would be happy to see him. I take my cats their now (8 year old Eevee and 6 month old Winnie) and everyone is so sweet to them. I will keep going to this clinic so long as I live in the Phoenix area and have pets :)

I even had my sister come here to have her cats taken care of when they needed their teeth removed. They make it as stress free as possible when your animal is sick and appointments are incredibly easy to make, especially with their hours and online booking.

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot express how great my experience was at this vet last Wednesday. I moved here in October and struggled to find a vet for monthssss . I’ve been to four different ones and they were just not good experiences . All the staff here was phenomal , kind , knowledgeable . And answered all my questions. And after my visit they even called to check up on my dog 3 days later .nobody does that anymore ! And that was a huge part in realizing that they actually care , you really can’t find a vet like this anywhere else ! Will be taking all my dogs here from now on .

We have rescued and rehomed over 20 fur friends. The care currently shown and provided remains top quality in all aspects! You cannot go wrong. Dont let any negative reviews lead you away they are worth the time and money to schedule and drive to this gem of a veterinary clinic, surgery clinic, pet resort and daycare. Through births, deaths, checkups, routine shots we have loved them. Of course sometimes things can be not as planned, but they always always come through! Still recommending after 15 years!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I just want to thank Dr. Ou for how kind, gentle, and patient she was with our dogs, Cauchy and Riemann. Cauchy had a bad experience at another vet and is always anxious during vet visits and tries to wriggle and buck her way out of their grasp. She’s a big girl, so wriggling and bucking can be painful. But Dr. Ou was so patient and gentle that Cauchy let her self be examined and didn’t react at all to the injections (even a blood sample!). Riemann is usually protective of his sister and is no fan of vets himself (he usually just sticks his tail between his legs and tries to escape). But by the end of the exam, his ears were perky, his tail was up and wagging, and he was giving her his best smile. I’m just so grateful that my dogs had their first great experience at a vet.

I was happy to be able to sit in the room with my pet through her check up and very happy they were able to do some quick test and checks to get us the right meds for her ears.

Experiencia negativa: I’ve taken my dog to Tempe Lake Vet for minor care (shots, ear infections, etc.) since we moved to the area in 2020, and they were initially great. While they pushed annual packages quite heavily, it was presented in a way that felt caring and considerate. However, my experience took a turn at the beginning of this year. I emailed to make an appointment for shots and received a confirmation reply. My dog had also recently developed a cyst on his eyelid, which I planned to have checked during the same visit. When I arrived, they didn’t have us on the schedule. After waiting for 5-10 minutes, they said they could fit us in for shots only, with no time for additional concerns. Reluctantly, I agreed, given the 30-minute drive to get there. During the appointment, the vet quickly administered the shots, and I mentioned the cyst. She took a brief look and said it would require a procedure to remove it but provided no details on the severity, urgency, or necessity of the surgery. A few months later, the cyst had grown larger, causing my dog to rub it constantly and lose hair around his eye. I decided to visit a different vet, who also indicated the need for removal but took the time to provide a quote and answer all my questions thoroughly. I called Tempe Lake Vet again to ask for a second quote, only to be told I’d need to bring my dog in for another checkup since they had virtually no notes on the cyst from the previous visit. I requested they waive the office visit fee, considering I had already paid $75 for an exam that was practically non-existent. After four days, they texted to say they couldn’t waive the fee but could reduce it to $65. Ultimately, I had the procedure done elsewhere and will never return to Tempe Lake Vet. If you make a scheduling mistake, apologize and make it right. If a loyal customer gives you another chance, own your mistake and waive the $65 fee. I’m deeply disappointed with the customer service provided after four years of bringing my dog here.

Experiencia fantástica: I have nothing but good things to say about Tempe Lake Veterinary Clinic and Pet Resort. Veterinarians actually see their well-loved patients and provide excellent care. I also love the pet resort. Even our pup (who is standoffish around strangers and may growl) was easily handled by the the assistants there and came home happy and healthy after a 1 week stay. Honestly, my dog was as happy there as in a resort that cost twice as much.

Experiencia positiva: It's a nice looking place. It's clean. The boarding area seems very nice but I feel they are very over priced & slightly deceptive. I took my cat here after being promised a "free exam" to get an estimate on the dental work my cat would be needing. All that happened was a tech came in & looked at my cats teeth for literally about 5 seconds. All she said was they needed cleaned(which...obviously...I already knew) From there I was told I would need to schedule an exam with the vet which would cost $72 prior to getting lab work & prior to scheduling an appointment to have the cleaning done. Then they told me the cost of the cleaning & that any extractions would be anywhere between $65 & $285. (That's sort of a ridiculously wide window on cost, imo) I felt a bit deceived & I didn't like it. I've since found another place that I feel more comfortable with, I feel is honest & they have much more reasonable prices. I'd say...if you're someone with plenty of money & you don't mind spending a few thousand dollars you don't need to spend then this could be an okay option for you but...if you're like me & you're on a very limited income...avoid this provider.

Experiencia negativa: We used to board our dog here all the time and we always loved it. They were so nice and caring and you could tell they really cared about animals. This last time we boarded our dog will be the last. When we picked him up he had scratches on the top of his nose and side of his snout. We asked why and the lady at the front desk said he was using his nose to scratch his food bowl. Our dog doesn’t do this. They couldn’t provide another reason or provide any documentation on him doing this. We requested to have his nails trimmed and we think he had to get muzzled and was injured in the process. Will not be bringing our dog here again. Also, the girl that brought our dog back when we picked him up didn’t bring any of his stuff back (blankets, left over food, etc) we had to ask for it. Just seemed clueless

Experiencia fantástica: Edited: The groomer contacted my daughter and explained that there was miscommunication at the pet salon. Arranged with the groomer to take the puppy back in to get the trim that was needed. Groomer did an excellent job with the trim and very pleased with the contact that was made. Will definitely return to Tempe Lake for grooming. I do not recommend getting your fur babies groomed here. Paid too much for what my daughters 11 lb mini aussie puppy received. Was specific on what we wanted trimmed. Ears were not trimmed and cut was poorly done if at all. The puppy was picked up looking exactly how it we dropped her off.

Experiencia negativa: If you love your animal, DO NOT GO HERE! Held my cat hostage for 12 hours starving, alone in a metal cage and with a catheter for a scheduled tooth cleaning. When I finally couldn’t take it any longer, I went to pick her up and they refused to give me my cat until I fulfilled payment. I could hear the poor thing crying and they even opened the door to show her locked in her cage but refused to give her to me until a paid. Dianne the main tech and the rest of this team obviously hates animals and costumer service. Their lack of care for animals is so sad. I am extremely disappointed in my visit and will tell anyone to exercise extreme caution when you come here.

Experiencia negativa: While I’ve had a few good experiences with Tempe Lake in the past, the last two times my spouse and I tried to use their services was an absolute nightmare. The first issue was that neither the techs, vets, or receptionists mentioned at ANY point in the process that they will not refill prescriptions for my pets medication if they’ve not been seen for a vet visit in a year period. I’m a new resident to AZ and was not aware this was a law here, and this was only brought to light when we tried to request a refill and were denied. I had a week’s supply when I made the request, and they did not have an appointment slot available within a week. So I suppose they expected me to just… not give my dogs their medication (which can cause withdrawal issues if it’s stopped cold-turkey) until they had time for me? They wouldn’t even offer to give me an emergency fill of a few days to tide me over until an appointment was available. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt because this was technically my fault for not being aware of AZ veterinary laws, but why not convey this information to me at ANY POINT in the process until it was too late to do anything but let my dogs go into withdrawal? The second and most recent issue is that they were holding the results of a urinalysis (that I’ve already paid $120 in full for), hostage until I come in for a visit that will cost me more money I don’t currently have available. I initially scheduled an appointment for an unrelated physical injury (a bit of a hurt foot) which thankfully resolved from medications prescribed from an emergency vet I visited earlier in the week. The appointment with Tempe Lake was postponed once, and finally cancelled due to the injury improving and then completely resolving in the time before the appointment. Yet again, I was at no point informed that they would not release the results of the urinalysis without a vet visit, even after the appointment was cancelled. I finally reached out to inquire about the results (which were 4 days later than they told me to expect them) and was informed that since the dog has not been seen in over a year (I’ve long since changed my primary vet to a mobile one after the first incident - they are up-to-date on vaccines and checkups) that they’re unable to send the results of the test. I offered to have the records from both the emergency vet and the mobile vet faxed to them, and was denied again. When I mentioned over the phone that I did not have the money to bring my dog in for an appointment, the so called “supervisor” literally snickered at me??? as if me being broke is amusing to her, and said there’s nothing that can be done. I was not asking for a prescription, meds, medical advice or ANYTHING other than the results I paid for and am owed, which I planned to share with my primary vet. I brought the urine sample in to them because they offered a better rate than the e-vet and said they were willing to accept it immediately. Unfortunately my mobile vet couldn’t accept the sample as quickly, and since time is of the essence in these matters, I tried Tempe Lake again since we have a history there. I contacted my emergency vet immediately following that call asking if they could assist me in obtaining the records… and wouldn’t you know, within an hour, I had the results in my inbox. So why put me through this absolutely infuriating ringer if you were able to send me the results the whole time? Like I mentioned earlier in my review, I’ve had nice experiences at Tempe Lake, but the way I was spoken to during the last call was frankly unacceptable for a professional clinic. I won’t be visiting this clinic again, and would urge people reading this review to either seek another vet, or ask for every single step of the process and legalities revolving meds/test results to be explained in excruciating detail, because I can guarantee it will not be offered to you freely. I hope this clinic hires staff that is able to convey important information about your animals health (like any vet clinic should) in the future.
