Experiencia fantástica: My dog became ill over the weekend and I brought him here. They gave me a quote with every possibility and treatment option. They answered all my questions thoroughly. I chose the avenue I wanted to take with treatment and they adjusted the quote accordingly. I appreciated the 45 minutes the veterinarian sat with me to discuss my options.

Experiencia negativa: They know what there talking about however, place is an absolute scam. My cat got bitten twice They tried to charge me $800 for a visit. After reading through their “proposed bill” which if you don’t read you will be charged over priced such as flee medication, $70 for getting a razor and removing a small patch of hair, as well as multiple other bs charges - if you did on your own you’d save 100’s.

Experiencia fantástica: I can’t express how grateful I am for the kind souls that work here. Amygrace, Hannah, Dj, Candice and our favorite nurse Lani as well as Dr.Woods. They let me stay with my dog all the way through this very scary process of ex-rays and bloodwork and the doctor really knew her stuff. It really felt like an ER too, with warm blankets in the lobby and even a free nail trimming from Lani lol my big baby Bruno does not like when I do it so that was amazing for me. I would absolutely recommend coming here! Thanks guys! ♥️‍⚕️♥️

Experiencia fantástica: My wife and I brought our 2 year old Weimaraner in due to extreme vomiting. Dr. Davison and nurse Hannah worked on our pup. They were very understanding of the special care our pup needed to make her feel comfortable. While we waited for the results we were offered free snacks and beverages. They explained every test they ran and simplified everything so we understood. Best vet care we have received wish they were our primary.

Experiencia fantástica: Took my Golden (Rosie) into VEG ER because of GI issues that turned out to be Pancreatitis. The situation was pretty scary but thanks to Dr. Thomas and Nurse Lani, I felt at ease and understood the diagnosis. Dr. Thomas answered allllll my many questions in detail and was so incredibly patient and kind. Dr. Thomas had treated my other Golden boy on Thanksgiving Day in 2023 and remembered me; you can tell she really truly cares about her patients and their owners :) It’s comforting to know VEG is there when I need them!

Experiencia fantástica: Everyone was professional, helpful, and super kind to me and my dog. There was a wait, which they communicated, but they gave my pup a blanket and spot to curl up comfortably while we waited. They also let me see the Xrays and be with him when he was sedated. You could tell how much everyone at the office cared about pets and I appreciated how well stocked they were for the humans waiting too (snacks + drinks). I hope we don't have to come back, but it will 100% be my first choice if I need to. Special thanks to the specific team members: Dr. Villarraga, Nurse Manny, Amanda R and Bonnie who loved on my boy and gave us both the care we needed.

Nurses Mike, Manny, and Krista not only delivered exceptional medical care but also offered genuine emotional support when I needed it most. Amanda R., the assistant, was wonderful and provided helpful resources to guide us through Lucy’s continued journey toward surgery. This is, without question, the best veterinary facility I have ever taken my dog to. If you want truly exceptional care for your pet, this is the place to go. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

Experiencia fantástica: We arrived at VEG ER believing our baby girl, Joy, a 13 year old shih tzu, was having an allergic reaction to a vaccine. Her face was swollen, she was uncomfortable, and we were deeply worried. Dr. Jamie Davison conducted a thorough evaluation and helped us understand that Joy may have been reacting to an insect bite. During her examination, she also identified fluid in Joy’s uterus, raising concern for pyometra. For those unfamiliar, pyometra is a life threatening uterine infection that can lead to sepsis, organ failure, and sudden death if not treated promptly. I will be honest. Given how frequently “lifestyle treatments” are pushed in veterinary medicine today, I was cautious and protective. We were worried about both the severity of the diagnosis and the cost and risks of surgery. I also considered seeking a second opinion. Dr. Davison did not rush us. She walked us through every step, from bloodwork to ultrasound findings, explaining what she was seeing and why it mattered. She earned our trust gradually and professionally. When we made the decision to operate, her attention to detail stood out. She avoided the large external stitches we have seen in the past, and when prescribing medication, she remembered that I had mentioned Joy does not swallow pills and provided liquid medication instead. Those small considerations made a meaningful difference in her recovery. Further testing of Joy’s uterus after surgery confirmed tumors. Removing them likely prevented a catastrophic outcome. What began as a suspected allergic reaction became a life saving intervention. It has been a week, and Joy is steadily returning to her loving, spirited self. If it were not for Dr. Davison’s thorough examination and clinical judgment, we might not have discovered the underlying condition in time. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Davison and the VEG ER team working that night, including nurse Loni, assistant Fred, and CEC Kalyn. Their professionalism, clarity, and compassion made all the difference.

Experiencia fantástica: When I initially called, the receptionist got me on the phone with a doctor within seconds to ask my question. When I arrived, I was immediately brought to triage to have my dog, Roo, seen and everyone worked quickly to get things moving. There was no waiting around at all. I was there for nearly 20 hours and there was never a moment someone wasn’t asking me what I needed and there also wasn’t a moment I couldn’t be by Roo’s side. I was helped by Dr Davison & Dr Gabos, CEC Bonnie & Mikayla, Nurses Hannah and Amanda, and also emotionally (and practically) helped by tech Fred when I brought my little Roo in. Everyone was phenomenal with Roo and extremely kind to me and understanding of all of my emotions. I’d especially love to thank Hannah for her kindness and for being so gentle with Roo. She was (literally) by my side through the majority of my visit. Thank you thank you thank you!! Roo is doing great :)

Experiencia fantástica: I had an emergency with one of my schnauzers & I found this place in a state of panic as I just recently moved here a month ago. They took great care of my baby and did not have me wait. They were so quick and efficient!! Prices are reasonable but keep in mind it’s an ER so they are obviously a little higher but they work with you. They did not just send me home without making sure my Bella was okay I cant thank them enough. Follow up calls afterwards were made which were appreciated. Everyone was so nice! From Dr. V and Nurse Alexis to yesterday 2/16 when I went to pick up Bellas food both ladies were SO NICE! Thank You so much for taking care of my Bella. I will always recommend this place to all dog parents!

Experiencia fantástica: My kitten had a blockage and the vet and staff were awesome, giving me updates about his treatment. Everyone was very nice and made me feel at ease while they were taking care of Ash. I would recommend this ER to everyone that I know in need of urgent help with their pets.

Experiencia fantástica: We had to bring our dog, Brutus, to VEG ER last night for an eye injury and the care he received was absolutely outstanding. From the moment we walked in, he was seen immediately. The team quickly identified exactly what was wrong and clearly explained what needed to be done to help him. Dr. Bayden was knowledgeable, calm, and incredibly reassuring. His nurse, Hannah, was compassionate and attentive, and Kalyn, the CEC, made the entire experience smooth and comforting during a stressful time. They performed the procedure Brutus needed right away and took excellent care of him throughout. Today, he is home and recovering well and is feeling so much better - we are beyond grateful. We highly recommend this team at VEG ER and will absolutely bring Brutus here for any future emergency care he may need. Thank you for treating him like your own.

Experiencia fantástica: I have taken my dog here 3 times because his primary vet wasn’t available. I CANNOT say enough good things about this place and the people working there. My last visit was because someone brutally hit my dog (blue nose) at the dog park based on his breed, and the side of his face was swollen so I rushed him to VEG, I was a little tight on money and the bill was higher than I expected or could afford, but like always..VEG showed how much they care by working with me on the bill to something I could afford. I moved from s Tampa to Seminole height and will ALWAYS make the trip to S Tampa whenever I need to take him to the emergency vet. Like I said, I cannot say enough good things about this place, I’m beyond grateful to you all!

Experiencia fantástica: Love the staff here. Calm during emergencies, not trying to sell you just take amazing care of you and your pet. We went in at 130am for a swollen eye. We were seen right away. They made my dog so calm (without drugs) that she was falling asleep while they did her exam. We were kept informed during the entire process and given iptions for treatment. My girl is doing 100% better thanks to this amazing staff!

Experiencia fantástica: I came in with my Pomeranian. I lost my boy Odin this day but it was my decision. They gave me all my options. Ultimately, it was my decision to say goodbye to my boy. Odin was the love of my life. He changed my life forever and as a man he did more for me than I could. I’ve ever done for him. The staff here And the doctors are descended from heaven. Experiencia fantástica: I recommend VEG for pet emergencies. The nurses, front staff, and doctors are incredibly kind, personable, and supportive. They help you make decisions without pressure or judgment, which makes a stressful situation significantly easier.

Experiencia negativa: We were not at all happy with this location. Our dog was misdiagnosed by Dr. Moses. She was also handled roughly by both the vet and tech we saw on the second visit in my opinion. Further, the vet was condescending to me not believing my insistence our dog had digestive pain. She treated my dog for arthritis instead of listening to me, which caused our dog to suffer worsening pain that could have cost her life if left untreated-fortunately another ER listened. We visited this location twice, the first time the place was busy, we saw Dr Davidson and a female tech with dark hair. They ran tests, and pancreatitis was diagnosed & treated. They had also taken an xray, which showed arthritis we were aware of and some gas. There was some delayed communication given to us and a lengthy wait, but nothing to complain about when it comes to an ER. Unfortunately our dog's pain did not improve with the treatment they prescribed. We called almost daily, as our dog continued to have pain that progressed. I brought her back to this ER a few days after the first visit, and saw a different vet this time-Dr Moses. The ER was empty, and all staff were sitting at their desks. No one immediately came to us after being taken to the back, rather they called out their questions from their computers. When they did finally get up, I observed the vet appearing to roughly handle our dog despite my asking her to please handle her carefully as she was having belly pain. Her response was 'she isn't having it now'. She agreed to do an ultrasound and while her male tech and a blonde female tech held my dog down, she squirted cold alcohol across her belly then chuckled about it when my dog frantically tried to get up. She did this twice. She said nothing was wrong on the ultrasound except gas. I asked her to recheck her labs to see if her pancreatitis was worse, as her pain was most severe after eating. She agreed to recheck her labs and said her pancreas was improved. She said her pain was from her arthritis in her back and legs. I told her this pain was something digestive, and it worsens with eating. We were aware of her arthritis, but she had never hunch walked, shaked, twitched, cried out repeatedly, etc. from her arthritis-and that didn't make sense, as she was getting more severe episodes after eating. Dr Moses insisted it was arthritis, dismissed my concern, did not explore any further tests, give any referrals, or attempt to make contact with anyone else regarding our dog's digestive pain. The young female blonde assistant was very kind and gentle with our dog at this visit, but the male assistant-short, stalky, light brown hair, when giving subQ fluids opened a tube wide, squeezed hard, shoving fluid in her back while she screamed-our dog who already had been suffering worsening pain over the course of a week despite their ER treatments given. I told him he was hurting her and he barks 'I've been doing this 21 years'. There was no need to squeeze that bag so hard in a tiny chihuahua. My dog continued to suffer with belly pain-crippling at times, so less than 2 days later I took her to a different ER and while we were there they called around to find a place to transfer her that day (on a weekend) for a diagnostic abdominal ultrasound. The ultrasound showed a gallbladder mucocele and she was prepared and transferred for EMERGENCY SURGERY that day. Her gallbladder could have ruptured. She has been out of surgery for 8 weeks now, has some permanent liver damage they think most likely from the gallbladder mucocele (also likely what caused the pancreatitis), & has not had any signs of pain since her gallbladder was removed-so it definitely wasn't arthritis causing pain after she ate! She is doing great now, thanks to Blue Pearl and Beacon working together. Shame on VEG ER for putting our dog through what they did and dismissing our valid concern. Listen to the pet owners and handle pets carefully, they are afraid and in pain and distress!! I pray for any animal that steps foot in VEG ER S. Dale Mabry

Experiencia fantástica: They are the kindest, most considerate, and passionate animal care workers. Every single one of them, from the Vets, clinical personnel, and support staff. We have never experienced a clinic where everyone was wonderful! The animal we brought in was a stray and the cost for treatment was approximately $2,500, that is quite a bit of money for an injured cat that was unknown to us. However, the care provided by your knowledgeable and passionate staff made the visit very satisfactory. Exceptional staff noted are Doctor Kahn, Alexis, Mikayla and Bonnie. Experiencia negativa: I have been to VEG South Dale Mabry two times before and received excellent service. I went to VEG last week at 8pm with an eye emergency with my dog. They assessed my dog immediately and started pain management but slow follow through with sedation/pain meds despite asking for more while we waited for treatment of the eye and my dog was crying in pain. I will not be going back there.

Experiencia fantástica: Having six pets, we’ve had our fair share of ER visits over the years, but this was our first experience with VEG—and it was truly exceptional. I walked in terrified, and they immediately put me at ease. The team welcomed us to stay as long as we needed (our boy ended up spending the night), and for the first time ever, I felt completely comfortable leaving him in someone else’s care. What really stood out was not just how kindly they treated us, but how compassionately they interacted with every animal that came through the door. Their care is genuine, their concern is real, and it shows in everything they do. The doctors, the ICU nurses, and honestly the entire staff were absolutely top‑notch. I can’t recommend VEG ER highly enough.

Experiencia negativa: Lost my dog, due to lack of care. My dog was in extreme pain he needed xray, they gave him Pain meds and sent us on our way, I was crying he isn’t ok, they didn’t car and I had to go to blue pearl the next day. Have emergency surgery, and they said if they knew sooner it wouldn’t had been as bad. But since they wanted to just inject pain meds and not look at the problem I lost my puppy. 10k later

Experiencia fantástica: From the moment we arrived at VEG, I was treated with urgency and respect. The entire team was excellent! My 12-year-old pug, Kina, had vomited four times before I brought him in and twice more upon arrival. He was given an anti-nausea medication other than Cerenia because he had previously had a reaction to it. Unfortunately, after taking him home, he vomited four more times. I brought him back and requested that they try Cerenia, explaining that a potential reaction felt preferable to him continuing to vomit nonstop. The staff allowed me to stay with him and assured me they could immediately treat any reaction if one occurred. After 30–45 minutes, we went home again. Shortly after, Kina became very disoriented he was staggering as if drunk, circling his head while seated, and unable to get comfortable. I immediately brought him back. Dr. Sullivan was extremely knowledgeable and carefully evaluated his symptoms, discussing possible causes and outcomes with me. She ran tests and discovered a very severe UTI, which correlated with everything we were seeing. She took her time explaining the diagnosis and recommended keeping him for 12 to 24 hours for observation and was given meds and fluids. Thankfully, when they called the next morning, he was doing much better and was released. He is now recovering well, and we are hopeful the worst is behind us. I felt genuinely cared for at VEG. Everyone was welcoming, compassionate, and clearly concerned about my dog’s well-being. I would absolutely recommend VEG for any pet emergency. They provided exceptional care and were more caring and affordable than BluePearl.

Experiencia negativa: Today, January 21st year 2026, was my first time going to this 24 hours vet and I can tell you for sure : it would be my last time ever . I took my dog to be seen for vomiting around 4:00pm . The vet recommended an Xray plus some medications and my bill would be without a blood work: $1500!!! I told the tech the charge is outrageous and I’ll wait till tomorrow to see my dogs vet. The vet spent less than a 5 minutes with my dog and my charge was $175. A vet visit on average is between $65 to $85. I have no idea why this place charges such an outrageous fee. Very disappointing to see how this place take advantage of people whom care for their animals.

Experiencia fantástica: I'm losing track of how many reviews I've left for VEG South Tampa location because unfortunately, my pup is a frequent flyer there... but I will continue to do so every time because each experience has been phenomenal from life saving care to the entire family and patient experience! Just this past weekend, one of my pups, Groot (2 year old German Shepard/Husky/Pitbull), spent a few days at VEG because he ate a sock that ended up getting stuck in his intestines requiring a very complex surgery. The operation was completed by Dr. Elizabeth Moses, who did an outstanding job in a very complex situation. Groot had surgery last year at VEG with Dr. Davison, after a squeaker got stuck in his intestines so with this being his second procedure, it added additional risks that Dr. Moses managed with incredible execution. Lexie was his nurse along side Dr. Moses for surgery, who is a friendly face from our previous experiences, with both Groot's last surgery and my other pup, Capone's dog bite incident, she went above and beyond as always to make us feel comfortable and confident we would had another successful healing journey. Both at our initial intake on Friday and when we were able to leave on Sunday, Hannah C. was Groot's nurse who was extremely patient and kind to make sure Groot and our whole family was comfortable every second she was with us. Groot can be nervous around new people, but she got on the ground and took the time to develop a trust with him and ended up getting some kisses as we were leaving which is a big deal for him. Given they wanted him to stay overnight after the surgery to monitor and make sure he was improving, they welcomed us to stay the night with him in one of their rooms, and even made up a bed so that we could sleep with him, and stay by his side, every step of the way. Overall another phenomenal experience at VEG, I will continue to bring both my dogs there in any emergency situation and highly recommend it to all others. Any medical emergency will be expensive, but this is one place where the price matches the service.

Experiencia fantástica: We literally or this Vet/Veg team literally knew my family and pup for less then 15 minutes and we were treated with extraordinary care and kindness. They deserve a 20 star review. Our golden retriever Lambo fell ill and wouldn’t get up after losing his strength this afternoon. My wife called right away and they immediately said come down we will meet you at your car. To say things didn’t end well as our pup was 14 years old was the toughest decision we had to make. Animals are family and they just like that. Every single interaction with their staff was caring and affectionate and compassionate to what our family was going through. Explained all options in detail and they were with us the entire way. Our good boy had a tumor that ruptured on his spleen. Slim to none chances of recovery. If only dogs could talk. They Left us alone for as long as we needed to say good bye. If your family is looking for a caring animal hospital this is a great place right off south dale mabry in Tampa Florida. Thank you for caring for our pup Lambo in our time of pain. We will greatly miss our sweet boy.

The staff is very knowledgeable and with that shared knowledge, I was able to relax knowing that my baby was in gr8! care. I was able to secure quick financing within 5 minutes to help with my unexpected expenses for my dog's injuries. The entire staff was amazing at keeping my dog’s nerves and anxiety steady, they were gentle, positive, and caring the entire time. They went through all options with me and pricing up front. Alexis was our nurse and she was so kind and very helpful with ensuring we were all good to go!

I was so disappointed that my puppy had an emergency on a Saturday that could have been prevented if his veterinarian did not cancel his follow up care. VEG got him right in and on such a busy day everyone seemed to work effortlessly together to provide the best care. I am so grateful to everyone that cared for Jasper! Experiencia negativa: I brought my dog into this location to get some bloodwork done. Immediately I was met with content by receptionist 'Bonnie.' She tried to deter me from seeking treatment to my dog by instantly telling all of the services this location doesn't perform, even though I never asked for said services. Bonnie threw us into a room in the back of the facility. After waiting for some time, 'Amanda,' entered the room and she demonstrated great fear of my sick dog. She flinched when my dog coughed and she did not complete a physical exam on her. She made inappropriate comments about the dogs living environment based on her perception of me (African American). She attempted to refuse treatment of my dog by claiming she could not treat her if I didn't pay $800 dollars upfront. Her reason being "That's just how we do things around here." I knew this was false information, but I payed anyway as I only wished to have my dog treated. Amanda's performance was unprofessional, dangerous and sloppy. As I held my dog in place, it took her 4 attempts to draw 1 vial of blood, she was shaky, jumpy, falling on the floor and she even left a needle hanging out of my dogs leg. This behavior caused unnecessary pain to my dog who was nothing but kind and showed no signs of agression towards staff or other animals present. Throughout this visit, the entire facility resembled that of high school gossiping girls (there were no men present), not a professional animal clinic. When expressing this treatment to the doctor she dissmissed my grievance and quickly pushed me towards the exit. As I left, I requested the managers contact information and informed Bonnie (The receptionist) of my recognition of her negative treatment at the start of this visit. She responded by saying " I know that the breed of your dog is vicious." Confirming my interpretation of her negative treatment. My takeaway from all of this is that all pet owners, especially black, with large dog breeds are not welcomed at this location. The girls here are uncomfortable with your breed of choice. Immediately into an exam room, where everything went along quite smoothly. The friendliness and genuine love for animals is certainly evident. My kitten is doing much better. *************************************(December 2025) I had another emergency with my kitten. Once again, my experience with the staff at 1501 S Dale Mabry was nothing less than outstanding. It is so comforting to automatically be able to speak with a Dr for advice over the phone. In this case it was Dr Finney. Then when I arrived and immediately greeted, I was speaking with Bonnie and Lexie. I was advised with options of various tests that could, or should be performed, along with pricing. I felt no pressure in decision making as they were willing to work with me. Everyone showed genuine concern for not only my kitten, but also for me. I was even offered beverages and snacks. Thank God that everything worked out well and my kitten is thriving once again. It is so very comforting to know that VEG is available around the clock and willing to give initial advice over the phone and that they're not just a business in it for the money.

Experiencia fantástica: We were in Tampa for Christmas when my terrier experienced a medical emergency. Family suggested VEG, when we arrived they took us right into the exam room, I was able to stay with my pet while they got his breathing stabilized. The staff is great, waiting area refreshments were appreciated. We had an uneventful trip home and Tuffy is doing well. Thank you Kevin, Bonnie, Heidy, Kelly and Dr. Osorio at VEG south Tampa.

Experiencia fantástica: I’d give 10 stars if I could! I emergently brought my sick dog in and immediately Bonnie helped me carry my dog straight to a room. Dr. Lingen and Alexis were compassionate, calm. The whole staff was so kind to me and Stella during the hours we spent there. Kindly cleaning up after her, bringing us blankets (dog and human blankets). I can’t say thank you enough for making a very scary experience a little easier.

Experiencia fantástica: We had an emergency situation with our pup eating an entire shoelace the evening of New Years Day when almost everywhere was closed. We had concerns with intestinal blockage and knew we had to take care of it quickly. We called ahead and spoke with the doctor, who informed us in advance what we could expect. Upon arrival, we were immediately seen. The staff really appeared to have genuine concern. We were able to stay with our Lucy the entire time, which made it so much less fearful for her. We were kept informed about what was going to happen next and what to expect afterwards. We felt comfortable to ask questions along the way. We are really happy with our experience, and I hope this review helps people to make a decision about where to go for their pet's emergency care.

Experiencia negativa: First, it’s $175 just to be seen and the “assessment” was done in the waiting room and was half ass, at best. My three-year-old nephew could do a better assessment. This place only cares about money. They tried to gouge me for $2500 first even though I told them all the stuff that they were trying to charge me for had already been done. We came in for a UTI, $500 and a week later he still has the same problem. I am extremely dissatisfied and I wish there was a medical board to report a place like this too. Don’t waste your money or your time unless you have money and don’t care.

Experiencia fantástica: The Vets, Nurses and Staff were amazing. This is the second time we have been to this location and they were kind, compassionate and thorough. They were quick to act when we arrived. I was aware of what was happening ant each turn and guided through each step of the process. They treated my little fur-baby as one of their own. I felt supported and that they were doing everything in their power to determine the cause of what she was going through. Once we were finished with everything and we were going over the diagnosis, every single question was answered, I never felt rushed and the Vet moved at my pace to make sure I fully comprehended. I am very thankful for all of them. I know that if I have a need for them in the future they will be there and ready to handle whatever challenge I bring them. I cannot thank them enough for taking care of us.

We were very concerned with taking her to somewhere new, she has been going to the same vet since she was a puppy. The moment we walked in the door we were met with German Shepherd lovers! No one was scared of her, they all wanted to pet her and talk to her. The entire staff, every single person, was so caring, friendly, compassionate I just couldn't believe it. She experiences VERY high levels of anxiety any time she leaves my home, which is often made worse by offices that don't cater to her needs and insist on separation. Experiencia fantástica: My very reactive dog needed urgent care over the weekend at an ungodly hour and VEG was the best choice for us! The doctor and staff listened to me when it came to handling my dog and didn’t just treat her like every other animal or look sideways at her because she’s spicy. They included me in every decision, in every conversation and let me hover without making me feel bad for wanting to stay close. Also, I got a refund on a portion of my bill. When vets give you a bill that’s it, unless something more is needed, but on my out the person at the welcome desk let me know they were refunding me part of my payment because a specific medication wasn’t used. Amazing! A transparent and ethical business. I hope you never need them, but if you do, go to VEG.

Mikayla & Haley greeted us & immediately got us situated in a quiet room for cats, offered us refreshments & took care of our billing clearly & efficiently. Doctors Gabos & Rogers explained all treatment options & related costs so there were no surprises. The whole staff was kind, gentle & caring with us & (most importantly) our beloved kitty. I was allowed to go with my dog, Stanley, every step of the way. As people were coming in, they were met by a team and were immediately received care. I am older and they were very patient with me and answered my concerns. The only thing wrong is they are Emergency Veterinarians. We had a terrifying moment of my dog having blood in his urine and they were so calming and helpful in trying to figure out what was wrong. I hope that I never need emergency vet care again, but if I do this is the only facility I will be taking any of my pets.

Experiencia fantástica: I have fortunate (unfortunate) to be a frequent flyer of VEG for both of my dogs and spent a small nations GDP (thank god for insurance). I have to say VEG deserves 100 stars. They are incredible, kind, open, supportive, thoughtful, smart, creative you name it. Starting from the amazing front desk who go above the call of duty to the nurses and the techs in the trenches. I will follow up with a bunch of names but have spent time with over 7 vets here and just so grateful for the team. I wish I wrote this sooner but VEG is life saving and amazing. 10/10. Emergency Vets are going to cost more that’s just the way it is because of the operation and skills they need to run. It’s worth every penny and they will do all they can to support you where you are!

Their empathy was genuine—I could feel that they truly cared about my pet and about my feelings. They offered comforting words, gave me space when I needed it, and made sure my rat was peaceful and comfortable until the very end. Saying goodbye is never easy, but their professionalism, patience, and heartfelt care made an unbearable situation a little more bearable. Unfortunately, I had to take my dog for about a days worth of care and not once did I feel anything but support and kindness. Because we were there for so long we met many staff members, all truly wonderful. The front desk staff Bonnie, Mikayla and Kevin were warm and caring. Doctors Kahn, Lingen and Villarraga were informative and reassuring. The nurses Esteban, Kirsten and Rachel were both kind and patient. I really can’t recommend this place more.

Experiencia fantástica: VEG is the best emergency practice I've found! I took my dog in for what turned out to be pancreatitis (most likely) and she very much does not like the vet. Although she is an extremely difficult patient, Dr. Thomas and Dr. Surdin took their time with her and helped me come up with multiple options for treatment. My dog fought the sedation the whole way through and they still did not give up on helping her. I wouldn't have blamed a soul for giving up but they never did. They even expressed worry about Stella not trusting the vet in the future because of her experience which I thought was very sweet. I also want to give a ginormous shoutout to the nurse, Liubov because she went above and beyond to make me and my pup as comfortable as possible and was a part of every test and needle there was (she even attempted to cut my dogs nails for me). Not only did they help tremendously while I was there but I also called them multiple times after her visit and were just as helpful. My only negative would be the price, but I think most can agree the price is justified when it comes to your pup. Thank you VEG team!!

They provided a private room and allowed for you’d to stay as long as you needed. The receptionist stayed with me and listened to my Lucy stories. Lucy was such a special kitty she was with me for 17 years. She comforted me to the very end and in return Veg comforted her. I would highly recommend them and trust them with your fur baby.

They took us back to the treatment room right away, she was seen within minutes, we had a care plan and they proceeded with speed and efficiency to get us out of there. Experiencia fantástica: My dog was attacked by two other dogs. My vet wasn’t open but they directed me to call VEG. Everyone at VEG was wonderful and took excellent care of my dog. They explained everything to me, they took all necessary precautions (she is a senior dog) and they all felt so bad for her when she was in any pain. They gave her excellent treatment there and sent us home with everything we need to help my pup get better. I will only use them for any emergency care and highly recommend everyone else do the same. It was a very hard morning and the whole team made it so much better.

Experiencia fantástica: First off, if they offered 10 stars for a review I would be giving VEG all 10! Last week, our pup had a very bad GI issue that came out of no where. A little panic set in and we had to get her to a vet to see what was going on asap. We called ahead of time and they sent over a mobile check in to quicken the process when we arrive. When we got there, the staff was awesome. They were so welcoming, respectful and efficient. They offered snacks and drinks while we waited for an assistant. After a very short wait, they wasted no time. There was a plan to get to the bottom of the issue. The doctor was so nice and polite. They brought out a nicely laid out cost estimate and explain each thing so you understand what is going to happen. There was no pushing and shoving to get you to buy things that are not needed. Without writing a book about our visit. Our pup ended up in thier care for 33 hours total. She was very dehydrated and needed constant fluids until we could get her stomach to settle down. Throughout the very short yet felt like forever couple of days, not once did we think she was in "bad" care. There was updates both morning and night. They encouraged us to call anytime to see how she was doing. They explained each different approach to tackle the issue and also went over the cost each time before doing anything. I would love to include names in this review but we worked with a couple different doctors and staff members thoughout the whole process and they were all professional, respectful, polite and just awesome! They sort of have a "open door policy". They let you back where they are doing the exam, you can watch the ultrasound up close, sit with your pup all day if you would like and stop by 24/7 to say see them. We took her for a walk and they even offered setting up a place to stay the night if we wanted. We have nothing but great things to say about this establishment. In a world full of craziness and not always trustworthy business practices. This place was a breath of fresh air. In a time of stress both for the health of our pup and the high cost to follow. They treat you like a human and not just "another customer". If you ever need to go to an urgent care for your furry friend, I would recommend this place time and time again.

Experiencia negativa: I can’t believe any reviews that are positive. My experience was not remotely close to that. Without doing any testing they give me a worst case scenario. Telling me my dog had a fever when according to my reg Veterinarian the temperature was normal that VEG had taken. They tried to talk me into paying almost $2000 based on their “recommendation.” Meanwhile, I took my dog to Banfield and got everything resolved for $700. Even my Veterinarian at Banfield couldn’t understand why VEG was telling me the things that they were. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF

My baby bully Nova came in with what we thought to be a dislocated leg and with how the economy is right now getting ant a vet for a unexpected emergency is something no one can plan for but they stuck with us and still helped us out to the maximum extent. Dr. Villarraga and Nurse Brenda went over board to accommodate my baby and we received the horrible news that it was a fractured femur. Through the sadness they were still so encouraging and gave the best advice to me and my family even through the tough news we still shared a couple laughs and overall my experience was great God bless the people at this place thank you so much.

Experiencia fantástica: Wish I could give VEG South Tampa one million stars! We brought our 7yr lab mix Ellie in for vomiting/diarrhea that was going on for 48hrs and we were seen right away. We were assigned a private room to wait with our baby, and the team got to work quickly. Our Ellie went under sedation to have her bloodwork, ultrasound, and X-rays done and the team included us in EVERY step, letting us love and pet our baby to sleep, and then allowing us to actually come and observe them as they did the X-rays and the ultrasound! It was a great feeling to see what goes on “behind closed doors”. TOTAL TRANSPARENCY FROM START TO FINISH. The Drs spent a great deal of time explaining what we saw in the images from the X-rays and walked us through everything on the ultrasound. Nurse Lani spent a lot of time educating us on the meds she was giving Ellie and most importantly the WHY. They even provided us with a call button in our room should we need assistance during wait time (1hr of waiting the whole visit btw), and bonus: also gave us snacks and soda since we all rushed in having no dinner. Thankfully our Ellie’s bloodwork, X-rays, and ultrasound came back clear and we were sent home with some anti-nausea meds and probiotics, and she’s already on the mend. ❤️‍ We will NEVER go anywhere else for our ER vet needs. We cannot thank Dr Davison, Dr Osorio, and Nurse Lani enough. They took such amazing care of our baby and also of us. If you have an emergency for your babies, THIS IS THE PLACE!!

Loki’s had a urinary blockage and the team at VEG knew exactly what needed to be done, and showed the most love and expertise. Saved our little guys life and we couldn’t be more grateful. Experiencia negativa: Had the absolute worst, unremorseful, careless experience with the white old dreadheaded vet lady. If you dont have $5k you're able to unexpectedly spend on a sick pet, save your time and your $180 visit. Not only was i lectured that i was a bad dog mom as my pup was actively dying, but was belittled and treated like trash after i said i could not afford $5000 dollars on the spot. Vet wouldn't speak to me after knowing i didnt have the cash, speaking only to a vet tech who would relay that message to me as she stood less than 10 feet away. Disgusting. They're a money scam and dont care about the actual pet.

My dachshund, Rover had to be hospitalized for a few hours on Sunday 10/05 and he received the most loving care from all the team members. Mikayla the receptionist was warm and friendly, giving Rover all the compliments, his nurse Rachel was incredible. She cared for him as if he were here own baby by giving him lots of love, snuggles and kisses. Chris R for walking me through the estimate, Dr. Gabos and Dr. Osorio put together a treatment plan that had him better before the day was over. Rover is usually terrified of vets but they made him feel so comfortable he snuggled up in a blanket and slept <3 Mikayla even sent me photos of him when I had to step out for a bit. I am so grateful for all the other team members, Amanda (scribe) Manny, Nikki, Amanda W, and any other team members that cared for him throughout the day Sunday.
