Experiencia fantástica: We took our baby to Beacon ER last night and were both so anxious, thinking the worst. Amber greeted us with so much warmth and immediately helped take our minds off things. The vet tech, Kesi, was incredibly patient and kind with our rambunctious pit bull puppy, and Jamie was a true angel. He saved us the hassle and financial stress of unnecessary tests and put our minds at ease with his knowledge and expertise. As a pediatric nurse, I’m used to calming scared parents—but it’s a totally different experience when you’re on the other side of things & it was so sweet to receive the calming presence of everyone at beacon during a stressful time!! We can’t thank you all enough for taking such amazing care of our baby. Hopefully we won’t ever need to come back, but if we do, we know we’ll be in the best hands.

Experiencia fantástica: I rarely if ever post Google reviews.l, but this amazing vet practice deserves the 5 stars and then some. At 645am this morning, our 6 and 1/2 year old healthy happy lab mix had an unexpected cardiac seizure and passed away at home. "Traumatized" does not begin to describe our emotions. We were totally uncertain what to do so we called Beacon. They are incredibly empathetic and professional. We were there within minutes, if only to have them confirm what we already knew. They were ready and waiting when we got there... They treated our dog with the utmost care and respect for the body... They gave us a lovely room and some private time with the dog before the vet came to consult with us on options. They just did everything...so perfectly. This sort of situation is never a good experience for anyone. But the way that the Beacon team handled this was beyond extraordinary. We have empty hearts right now but we are immensely grateful for your compassion and your professionalism.

Experiencia fantástica: Our boxer, Buster Brown, had a large growth near his bottom...turned out to be an infected anal gland...the Dr (Dr Paige) and staff here got him all fixed up in a timely manner and with quality care. Thank you all for taking care of our Buster boy!

Experiencia fantástica: My Shih Tzu Ms Lulu was having issues with breathing Thursday evening so I monitored as she’d had been groomed and perhaps kennel cough. But by Sat I knew that something else was wrong! Dr Plummer was booked and recommended Beacon ER. By Sat evening I made decision to return, but then she got there and was slap happy showing nothing wrong!!! So I brought her home only to return. The Dr’s, (Bridgette) & Techs, everybody that’s associated with Beacon is amazing and the atmosphere is like being at your own home so comfortable. Miss Lulu was diagnosed with a collapsed trachea, so she came home after a thorough work up and radiographs showing what had happened.So with medication, we’re trying to see if she’s going to be able to get adjusted. I can’t say enough about the staff that works there this place is open seven days a week 24 hours a day and was busy when I was there and of course emergencies happen all the time and thank God that there’s a place like that here in Saint Petersburg, I had never had to use one and I’m so grateful that Beacon was recommended if I have anything wrong with my fur babies in need of instant care I highly recommend them!!!❤️❤️ They are priceless.

Experiencia fantástica: When I brought in my dog as an emergency after midnight we called ahead and they even met us in the parking lot! They were quick, thorough, and most importantly…honest. I didn’t feel they were trying to sell me something my dog didn’t need to make a quick buck. I was in and out in just over an hour, and they called the next day to check on my pup. Very satisfied with the professionalism as well as the personal care touch.

Even on the phone to let them know he was coming in with her soon, I was treated with incredible kindness. Off topic, but he told me they even had free tampons in their bathrooms which is such an amazing thing to do for everybody! Thank you everyone for treating our baby and helping us through a very stressful situation. Best ER vet in St Pete!

Experiencia negativa: My husband and I brought our dog in because he was bleeding from the nose, the vet told us that it was likely an infected tooth, a foreign body in his nostril or a tumor. When I asked what the next step was, I was offered x-rays for an absurd price and was told that they didn't have dental x-ray equipment so there was no guarantee they'd be able to see the issue. She then advised that if they didn't see anything in the x-ray, the next step would be blood work. I declined the x-rays due to the cost and was told to follow up with my regular vet for the dental x-rays. They gave me antibiotics with the instruction to start them that night. They also gave me a medication to stop the bleeding for $105 which I found out later was available over the counter for $12. When I followed up with my vet I was told that in order to even get x-rays, he'd need blood work done but since I already started him on the antibiotics we had to wait a week for him to finish them before the blood work could be done. A vet should know that and should have told me that the first step was blood work and either taken his blood there or told me not to start the antibiotics until after his blood was taken. Furthermore, my regular vet told me that an infected tooth wouldn't cause discharge from the nose so it's unlikely that it is a tooth issue. Our dog is old and has some skin issues so he looked a little rough, as did my husband and I, we had been installing new flooring in our kitchen when the bleeding started. We didn't take the time to get cleaned up before we brought him in as our only concern was for our dog. It felt like we were judged by our appearance and that they didn't want to help, instead they just gave us antibiotics, a grossly overpriced over the counter medicine and told us to go to our regular vet. It's clear to me that these people only care about the money and not the care of the animals which is truly disgusting.

They do not push unnecessary testing, give you several routes for treatment, and ensure your pet is well taken care of. #1 emergency vet in St. Pete.

An intimate setting with techs, receptionists, and Docs that truly have a heart for your furry companion. Dr. Letty was truly incredible and truly was a champion for us when we needed a neuro consult. When our dog needed to be transferred for surgery, they continued to check in every 24 hours to see how our little guy was doing. Thank you, Beacon!

Experiencia fantástica: I can’t say enough good things about Beacon ER! I woke up at 3am to my bed covered in droll from my guy. We thought he was just nauseous and could maybe sleep it off but waking up to that really made me nervous. Took him in and was met with the most kind and professional women! I didnt feel pressured into spending money on things I didn’t feel were necessary (as such as an X-ray since I knew there was no way he had gotten into anything)… They started with a oral exam then did some blood work and gave him some medication. Dr. Paige is awesome! Showed me pictures she had taken from the exam of an ulcer inside of his mouth. ER visits are always scary but I felt so at ease being there. From the clean & comfort environment to amazing/caring staff I will always choose beacon in case of any furture emergencies! Also wanted to shout out the other two women who helped Dr. Paige! I can’t remember their names but top tier customer service! Thank you all

Experiencia fantástica: This practice is the best 'Emergency' vet staff I've ever seen. Very prompt, caring and considerate of both my dog's and my stress and comfort levels. They took the time to carefully evaluate my fur baby's symptoms and offer reasonable treatment without pressuring me to commit to a lot of expensive and probably unnecessary tests. They gave me reasonable direction on caring for her at home. Absolutely, Beacon has my support and gratitude. They even called me to follow up the next day.

Experiencia fantástica: The staff truly went above and beyond to care for me and my dog during a traumatic emergency. I called them in distress and they were waiting outside for us when we got there and treated her immediately. They communicated to me very clearly throughout the entire process and checked in on me and my dog multiple times after our visit. My dog loved the staff so much and she was so cared for while dealing with a scary situation. Bug and I will never be able to thank them enough.

Experiencia fantástica: Thank you to Dr. Paige and Beth for taking quick care of my dog on New Years Eve. We went in around 4:30pm with some unexplained bleeding. They saw my dog with minimal wait time, presented me with the facts and an estimate of the charges and took Murphy back to the doctor’s area. He was well taken care of care of back to me within an hour. I truly appreciate the peace of mind they provided.

Experiencia fantástica: Our 5yr old pup ate 7 pieces of homemade fudge the day after Christmas. We got her to Beacon within an hour and they saved her from a toxic dose of chocolate. Dr Kenig along with Tiffani, Shyann & Hunter and were all very thoughtful, nice, empathetic and professional. Very grateful for them and our 5 star experience during our anxious time.

Experiencia fantástica: We had an emergency last night when one of our dogs bit the other dog and punctured his neck in the middle of fighting over treats. Unfortunately, we had to take the dog to the emergency room for the puncture in his neck. And they were very professional and explained everything in great detail. And we were there for less than an hour with getting a staple put in his neck And receiving medication to bring home etc. We were in and out in less than an hour.And I would highly advise if anyone ever had an unfortunate emergency to take them to beacon animal hospital.❤️

Experiencia positiva: So I went in because my dog ate chocolate and they charged $500 to make my dog throw up. But what the vet told me afterwards was that there is a calculator that if your dog eats a certain amount of chocolate compared to their body weight, they should be in the low risk category.... I.e they don't need to throw up for $500 and the amount my dog ate was a few ounces and that would result in diarrhea andmaybe an upset stomach, if left untreated. I wish they would have educated me up front and given me the choice so I could make an educated decision about what she needed.

The staff has alway been friendly, helpful and compassionate with my fur babies. Experiencia fantástica: Brought My senior diabetic Kitty to VEG Pet ER last night on South Dale Mabry/ corner of Neptune. We called first to verify location and Rachel greeted us at the door. Tiger was triaged immediately and we accompanied him as I gave a history. He had a rapid respiratory rate that was somewhat shallow, and earlier in the Day a blood sugar of 40 mg/dl. And vomiting. On arrival his blood sugar was close to 100 mg/ dl. ( a huge drop from the 6 pm 320) Tiger was placed in an oxygen isolate. We were allowed to stay with him the entire visit . We had the very best highest level of care from Dr. Nicole Osario, DVM, Rachel Vet Tech, John Vet Tech and Dr Jessica Roger’s. The level of professionalism, compassion and care is unsurpassed! You set the high level standard Bar! Thank you!!!

Experiencia fantástica: My 16 year old Chihuahua was sick and I took her here for the first time at 5am with no appointment. I was very impressed with how clean and inviting the office is. The staff and vet have good bedside manner. My dog was seen right away. The treatment plan wasn’t overtly aggressive and the staff explained everything and we decided together on the right course of action. They were not guilting me into anything I decided to not do. They took good care of my baby. I would say for an ER vet appointment the cost was reasonable. I would definitely come back if needed and would highly recommend this office to anyone.

Experiencia fantástica: My elderly dog developed an abscess in her jaw. I could tell she was in a lot of pain/discomfort. I knew she couldn’t wait for an appointment and Beacon was less than 5 mins away. I was fortunate that they were able to add my info on the phone before I arrived and was brought to an examination room as soon as I walked in. The timing worked out and my dog was assisted immediately. The exam room is comfortable with a couch and soothing music. There’s even a call button if you need it. The team was empathetic and provided credit options for payments. My dog went home with the meds and information needed for a follow up, and it included a wonderful hand drawn “get well soon” card made by students at St Paul. It was all very caring during a stressful time. Thank you

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT go here. Wanted $1,800 for a dog hot spot. I went 2 days later to my regular vet and it was $300. Also made me feel awful for not just saying here's my card. They wanted to shave around my dogs ear and said it would require a shot to put them down, an hour of supervision, and another shot to wake her back up. The itemized receipt was 14 lines. My vet shaved around the ear while simply letting her lick peanut butter.

Hunter, Jamie, Eli, & Dr Paige are an incredible team, I knew that I was in the right place the minute they opened the door for us. They offered kindness & guidance to help me navigate a stressful situation, an insane amount of patience with my fatigued state & repeated questions, and they helped our fuzzy kiddo (Pickles) get through a painful and scary situation. I’m so very grateful for their compassion and expertise.

I took in a dog to help a friend and unfortunately the dog ended up having some health issues that weren't able to be fixed, nor could I afford it. The sweet girl was suffering. I called the hospital and explained our situation and they were so compassionate. They didn’t think twice about helping. The staff was caring and extremely helpful helping me with my furbaby. The staff, Arsata, Mra and Dr. Whitney provided top notch care for my furbaby. The Ortho Surgeon Dr. Sawyer completed the orth procedure for my Frenchie. She provided excellent care. I was amazed with the surgery results for the completed for my Frenchie. I am grateful to find the Vet ER.

Experiencia fantástica: About 2 years ago I was adopted by a scrappy street cat named Buster. He was super independent and gruff, but beneath the rugged exterior is one of the sweetest most loyal cats I've ever met. One morning I heard Buster outside calling me, but it was cry for help. He had fended off a much bigger predator in the night but was seriously injured and I knew I had to get him help fast. An awful helpless feeling I wouldn't wish on anyone. Taking him to Beacon was the best decision I could've made for him. Dr. Matthews, Dr. Sawyer and all the nursing team worked nonstop around the clock through every touch and go crisis and complication, they were able to perform the life saving surgeries to save Buster and give him a new lease on life. The whole team were incredibly caring and supportive to Buster and myself throughout the process and beyond. If your pet is in need of help from someone who will love them as much you do, then take them to Beacon.

Experiencia fantástica: When you have to bring your dog to the vet at 3 o’clock in the morning, it’s never a good time. That’s what I did this week and had the best veterinary experience I’ve ever had. Everyone at Beacon was so on the ball, so kind to the dog, so good at communicating with me. They kept the dog for about 14 hours which was a relief since I didn’t know what more to do for him. When I picked him up everything was explained about the plan was going forward. I felt like I was finally on top of an unpleasant situation for my poor little dog Milo.

Experiencia fantástica: My Lab mix Paul had an unfortunate accident with a pan of bacon grease on Sunday morning. My vet office directed me to call Beacon and they saw us right away and treated his burn with love and care. I am so thankful they were there for us!

Experiencia fantástica: No one wants to go to an emergency vet. Beacon makes it easier with excellent care, a helpful staff, and a tension reducing environment. On Saturday afternoon, our 40lb cattle dog was passing blood in her urine. Compared to other emergency vets, Beacon feels less 'hospital'. The relaxed atmosphere was comforting for us and the dog. Make no mistake, it was spotless and absolutely professional. From registration to Tech evaluation to Dr. Brigitte's exam, care was attentive and personable. We were presented with different diagnosis/treatment options. Our choices were clearly presented & all questions patiently answered. . The atmosphere was relaxed, the evaluation, care and handling was first rate. Questions answered, medication & instructions well documented, results to be forwarded to our regular vet. If you have to be there, they do a great job making the best of a difficult situation. Can't ask for more.

The price was insane to not know if he would survive, but thankfully he did. We trust Beacon a lot now and would return always. They also gave us options for pricing with no guilt etc. very nice staff!

Stayed on the phone while I emailed a photo as it was after hours and she comforted me and told me what to watch for and when to bring her in if needed. Owning 5 dogs, I’ve have been to a few over the years and I won’t waste my time or money going anywhere else! The rooms are very clean and comfortable and everyone on the staff works efficiently and are very caring and empathetic.

Experiencia fantástica: We brought our dog in after he swallowed some type of parasite at our local dog park. The staff and the doctor on duty were awesome. They took our dog immediately after entering the facility and began evaluating him and went straight to work. No questions asked. This clinic is outstanding! Our dog came home with us well taken care of which was a huge relief.

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my little Chihuahua, Bella into the Beacon Emergency clinic because Bella hadn't eaten or drank any water all day and threw up twice. Since she is a small dog, I was very concerned for her. As soon as I got there, one of the staff members let me in and greeted me with a friendly demeanor and concern. I didn't have to wait too long before Bella was seen by a vet. The clinic was clean and well organized with all staff members being helpful and professional. I'm glad I took my fur baby there.

Experiencia fantástica: I took my 15 yr old yorkie here when she suddenly got very sick and was in renal failure (we have no idea what happened because it happened so sudden- think it started with a bite or sting by an insect and snow balled from there) …we honestly thought we were going to lose her :( but the ANGELS that work here at Beacon saved her and took the absolute BEST care of her! She is now better and back home with us! If you ever need an ER for your fur baby take them HERE! They will be very well taken care of by the nicest and kindest staff I have ever met! If I could give 100 stars I would! Thank you to Hunter, Dr. Higens, Tiffani, Dr.Williams and all of the angelic humans aka staff at Beacon for loving and saving our baby…we will never forget you and wouldn’t go anywhere else!

As dog parents, we were so anxious and concerned about leaving him. Beacon ER helped us feel comfortable and took great care of our sweet pup! Experiencia fantástica: Brought for puppy in for removal of a large piece of corn cob detected at vets office folling episode of vomiting. Dr Paige was very informarive and kind, she tried to induce vomiting without success, then dilegntly tried to remove it in endoscopy, but it was too large. Dr Williams performed a gastronomy and was able to remove the corn cob. He called us and let us know our pup was ok. Dr Reinmiller took over the next day and we were able to take our pup home the following eveing. We are recovering well at home now, and will be back to see them in 2 weeks. Our family is so grateful for the care and compassion given by the doctors and nurses Shyan and Karley.

Experiencia fantástica: It's taken a long time for my to be able to write about this, but beacon animal hospital is one of the best vet offices I have ever been to. A few years ago when our dog Bella was suddenly losing muscle functions and her eyes got cloudy we knew she was dying and didn't have much longer. We were so scared to wait even another day because we work and couldn't bear the thought of her being home alone and something happening and we knew we didn't want her to suffer anymore than she already had. Not only did they get us in as soon as they could but they made the process as smooth and painless for her as possible. After we knew she'd crossed the rainbow bridge they let us stay in the back room with her as long as we needed until we were ready. They kindly and gently took her from my arms, got her ready in a cardboard based casket, which we truly appreciated, and we were able to bring our baby home and bury her at home with us. If it weren't for beacon I don't know what we would've done. We had called so many other places beforehand and they either didn't have availability or it was far more expensive than we could afford at the time. Beacon was a literal beacon of hope and helped us honor our girl. They even sent us a card shortly after offering their condolences signed by all the staff and I still hold onto it to this day. I read it whenever I feel sad again and remember that even though it was painful and difficult for us, they were there with us and helped us get through it as best as they could. I recommend beacon for any vet needs you may have because they will absolutely take care of you and your baby.

Experiencia fantástica: My toy Pomeranian suffered a medical emergency and died in my arms while en route to Beacon Emergency Vet Hospital. Due to the quick reaction of the hospital’s staff, he was resuscitated and a week later doing fine. The staff is truly concerned about the welfare of your pet. I have received several inquiries from the doctors who cared for him, asking how he is doing. They even asked me to bring him by for a visit. I’d give Beacon ten stars if I could!

Experiencia fantástica: The closest Vet ER to me is Beacon. I had the sweetest technician Beth take Milos temperature. I had a very long wait and the Doctor was an angel. She was fast and courteous. The way they helped me treat Milo was amazing by providing financial help and I didn't feel forced to pay for x-rays or tests. I was given the choice to pay for antibiotics or take a RX home with me. I literally felt so thankful and grateful for the women and men who work there. I got Milos medicine from Beacon. Take your pet to Beacon and if you can't afford it they will work with you! Experiencia fantástica: My dachshund, Winston, got rowdy at daycare and stubbed his paw and his nail was barely hanging on. They got him in immediately, explained everything they would be doing, the cost of everything, and were so nice. Ginger, the front desk receptionist, is AMAZING! Went back for a follow up and I just really appreciated how accommodating they were and also just genuinely nice and concerned about making sure Winston got the best possible care!

Experiencia fantástica: Superb service from the moment we entered Beacon 24/7 ER services in St. Pete on 2909 4th St. N. The place is spotless and set up for efficient response, which by the way, was beautifully executed. Karly greeted us in the reception area and had us and our pup in a private waiting/exam room almost immediately. (We were lucky in terms of timing). Dr. Evert saw us after a short wait. After introducing herself to Shelby and spending time to really connect with him, she then reviewed our pup's intake forms and spoke with us about our concerns. He had tests, a diagnosis, and an Rx and we were out in just over an hour and a half or so. Shelby, my husband, and I all felt much better after our visit. The staff also called later to see how he was doing, which we appreciated. A day later, Shelby is doing much better. Thanks, Dr. Evert, Karly, and everyone at Beacon!

Experiencia fantástica: Shyann, Sara, and Dr. Lovrinic were so helpful in taking care of my Oatmeal yesterday when he had an emergency. They helped us so quickly and were super kind. All the treatments and medications he received were completely explained to us. I am so grateful that they were so patient with Oatmeal, as he can be difficult when he is scared or anxious. Thankfully they treated him so gently, he was actually so relaxed on his way home. Thank you ladies so much for all your help! I would recommend this clinic to anyone who needs help for their pets in a pinch!

Experiencia fantástica: Beacon is a lifesaver. Literally! What was supposed to be a free spay provided by her rescue turned into emergency xrays and wound cleaning. Beacon came through 10,000% and was able to assist even after the appointment with follow up questions. Our regular vet was very pleased with their work and my pup is doing so much better now.

Experiencia fantástica: Beacon 24/7 Veterinary ER staff did a good job giving my "very-stressed" cat blood work &. x-rays trying to analyze what was causing his vomiting & lack of appetite. it was decided that he needed to go for an abdominal ultrasound to be further evaluated elsewhere The prescription cream put in his ear did stimulate his appetite after 4 days, so it did help! Many thanks to Dr Williams, assisted by Shjann, Noah & Beth for their perseverance with a very "uncooperative" cat who was sick!!

Dr. Matthews and her team acted quickly and our girl was back on her feet that night. All of the staff were so kind and supportive. They explained what was happening throughout the process and before every procedure they checked in with us. And big plus, they worked directly with our pet insurance (Trupanion), making payment easy. So happy to have a Vet ER that is so good, so close to home.

Experiencia fantástica: This review is coming from a very vulnerable place for me and my wife. We went to Beacon today when my wife noticed one of our cats having trouble walking and holding her head up. We paid for the initial exam, then blood work and x-rays to find out what was wrong. We couldn't afford it even with an increase of our credit limit from Care Credit. We had the make the incredibly tough choice to send her over the rainbow bridge. They were 100% professional the entire time. Dr Clarence was great at explaining everything and keeping us informed. As much as we hope to never come back (as anyone with pets knows) we will absolutely be back if we had another emergency.
