Experiencia fantástica: They are a great team to whom the POLITO family will always be grateful, starting with the smiling Lisett who welcomed us and helped us with the language, Chelsey, Shawn, Mallory, Elisabeth, and in general everyone was very attentive and understanding, and especially to the talented Dr. Andrea Blanar for her decision to perform the surgery and for all the incredible care and follow-up she gave us. Experiencia negativa: Animal Doctors of South Tampa has been my veterinarian for several years. I’ve always loved and been impressed with Dr. Putnam’s kindness, professionalism, and helpfulness. I left a glowing review about four years ago. Recently, I brought one of my dogs in for an eye issue. She’s around 15 years old, so I get quite nervous and stressed when anything happens to her. I called to get a refill on the eye drops because her eye looked better, but there was still some redness. The technician, Sean (I’m not sure of the spelling), answered the phone and asked me what I needed. I explained that I would like a refill on the eyedrops because her eyes were better, but there was still a bit of redness. He then looked up her chart and informed me that it had been seven days, and her condition hadn’t improved and I would need to bring her back in. I insisted that it was much better, but he insisted that I bring her in. I explained that I was concerned about her and wanted to make sure she got better. He became increasingly agitated and refused to listen. He kept interrupting me and said that I was cutting him off. I explained that I was correcting his inaccurate information and that she was doing much better. I asked if I could speak to a doctor or leave a message for one to call me. He started yelling and hung up on me, not even allowing me to finish my sentence. Even if you don’t like the “paying customer” on the phone, you should ask them to hold and give them to someone else. You don’t hang up on a customer because you don’t agree with what the customer is saying if they’re not being rude. I drove to the veterinary office, and he didn’t recognize me. He asked if he could help me, but I declined and told him I would wait for someone else, he asked why. I told him you hung up on me , and I asked him if I had been rude. I explained that I hadn’t called him out of his name, cussed, or yelled at him. He said that he did not say I was rude or yelled at him and started yelling at me again. Mind you, one of the other technicians was on the phone with (I assume) another worried customer. He was screaming at me to get out of his establishment. I was shocked and confused. This is the kind of treatment a long-term customer receives because they don’t agree with the customer and find it easier to yell and scream at them, not only on the phone but also in the office. It’s unacceptable behavior. How can any business condone such behavior? Throughout my years of frequenting this establishment, I may have always preferred Dr. Putnam over the other doctors, but I’ve never experienced such deplorable treatment! I genuinely hope someone holds him accountable for his actions. There’s absolutely no justification for treating a long-term paying customer the way he did! I never once raised my voice or expressed any negative comments about him, except that I wanted to speak to another person. I’m utterly bewildered by his belief that it’s acceptable to talk however he pleases, then yell and threaten me simply because I pointed out that his behavior was disgustingly wrong. He then said, “Oh yeah, come here and I’ll show you…” nice employee, not only yelling at a customer but trying to fight also! What kind of person treats a customer like that at an animal hospital! I’m still astounded and stressed even after writing all of this. I’ve never encountered such appalling behavior in any veterinary or actually, anywhere!

Dr. Howes cared for our pitbull, Nova, for years and treated her skin issues with such dedication, patience, and genuine love. When we later learned Nova had cancer, Dr. Howes and Dr. Dre were nothing short of extraordinary- so compassionate, kind, and supportive during the hardest moments. They never made us feel rushed, never minimized our fears, and always treated Nova like she was their own. The entire staff is incredible- warm, attentive, and deeply caring. Every visit reminded us that Nova was truly loved and in the best hands possible. Thank you for giving our girl such a good life, for the care you provided through every chapter, and for the compassion you showed our family when it mattered most. We are endlessly grateful.

Experiencia negativa: We called and the front desk lady was extremely rude and had an unnecessary attitude with us.We just moved here and heard this was one of the best vets, but after speaking with her we are looking elsewhere. Very disappointing the doctors and clinic is loosing out on services due to the front desk being unwelcoming and rude.

Went right away and she was seen, had to have surgery and the vet and staff kept me informed about procedure and cost. Surgery went well. Staff very nice and thankful for their fast service and care. Now I take my fur baby there. Highly recommend Animal Doctors of South Tampa.

Experiencia fantástica: Finding Dr. Andrea and the Animal Doctors of South Tampa was the best decision of my life. She saved my baby girl’s life, and I will be forever grateful. My cat suddenly got very sick and other vets told us there was almost nothing left to do, one even mentioned euthanasia. We were devastated. After hours of searching for a clinic that could help us as a final hope, I found Animal Doctors of South Tampa, and it ended up being the greatest stroke of luck. Dr. Andrea was the only one who stepped in and was willing to help. She was honest and transparent from the very beginning about the seriousness of my cat’s condition, yet she also gave us hope and a chance when no one else would. Hailey needed major surgery to remove her left kidney, and even though it wasn’t something Dr. Andrea specializes in every day, she was brave enough to try it for us. We trusted her, and I am SO grateful we did. The surgery was a complete success, and now just a bit over a week later, Hailey is healthy, back to her normal self, and already playing around the house! It truly feels like a miracle, and it’s all thanks to Dr. Andrea and the amazing team here. Dr. Andrea is one of the most caring, attentive, and dedicated veterinarians I have ever met. She is incredibly smart and will do everything in her power to help your pet. She took the time to explain everything clearly to us, even drawing out so we fully understood Hailey’s situation. She is one of a kind and genuinely cares about her patients. The clinic as a whole deserves recognition as well. Their prices are extremely fair, far more affordable than other hospitals we visited, and yet the care we received here was by far the best. They were transparent, supportive, and worked with us to make sure Hailey got everything she needed. If you’re looking for a vet who is compassionate, skilled, and will fight for your pet, this is the place. Thank you, Dr. Andrea and Animal Doctors of South Tampa, for saving my baby girl’s life. Experiencia fantástica: I took Tom to Animal Doctors of South Tampa since they were the only place I called that took walk ins. I just wanna say that I appreciate the doctor understanding where I was at financially and not pushing treatment/euthanasia and remaining a knowledgeable sounding board while I weighed my options and ultimately opted for euthanasia. She even told me that the only way out of this was if I had 10k to throw at it and it’s still not a guarantee that he’d live or that he wouldn’t just get blocked back up next week. She understood and validated my concern of his colon rupturing while I was at work and dying a horrible death vs a kind one. I called them this morning with a weird request to brush him or shave him before he was picked up by the cremation company so I could come pick it up and put some of his fur in a keychain. I had a feeling after his last ER visit 2 weeks ago that the end might be soon so I ordered a pack of keychains but forgot them when I ran out the door with him Saturday. They didn’t make me feel weird and happily obliged. I think even the little envelope with the heart speaks volumes of their kindness and empathy. That might seem silly to most but when you’re grieving those little details matter and I hope they know it doesn’t go unnoticed. Thank you so much for honoring tom and being so kind to me during such a horrifically sad moment.

The physicians are beyond capable when it comes to the essential task of animal care. But what I value most is their humanity. The entire staff demonstrates compassion and empathy, and strives to provide world class care. At first I was unsure if I would like their "no appointments - walk in only" policy, but I've actually found it to be quite convenient and have never felt like my wait was unreasonable.

They saw him almost immediately, took great care of him, and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. The doctor was amazing—kind, professional, and clearly very knowledgeable. On top of that, the bill was extremely reasonable. I couldn’t be happier with the care Zeus received. Five stars all the way—highly recommend this vet!

Experiencia fantástica: Animal Doctors of South Tampa is our favorite vet office! The convenience of not needing an appointment is so helpful because our pets don't "schedule being sick". Everyone is so nice and caring. We've brought several stray cats in as well as our own cats, and every animal is treated with the utmost care. All the doctors are knowledgeable and great at explaining any situation our cats are going through. You can tell all the vet techs love their job and are true animal lovers. I highly recommend Animal Doctors for any of your pets.

The doctors and staff are always very friendly and helpful and go out of their way to ensure that all needs are met. Dr. Putnam attends to my dog Rocky as his primary veterinarian, and he thinks of her as part of the family. I would recommend this clinic to anyone with pets and rate them as the best of any clinics I have used in the past.

Experiencia fantástica: I wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Dr.Howes and the staff. We came here because we could not get into our vet. Worried because I have a large dog than is very protective, has to be medicated the night before and two hours prior to his appointment. He had an ear hematoma. The first time we went he let them drain it and all was well and we were on our way. This second time I brought him back to have it fixed. He was more alert, more jumpy so I was scared. Needless to say Dr.Howes and her staff tried different options with Toby to make sure he was taken care of and everyone was safe. They ended up separating him from me so he wouldn’t be in protective mode. They walked him right out, into another room, not even 10 min later they being him back and he was all finished. I am a nervous wreck taking him to the vet. But I couldn’t be more pleased and happy with their patience with Toby. Also I had to bring him at the very end of the day due to my work schedule and I was very appreciative of them dealing with him at the end of the day. Thank you again!! We will definitely be back and we highly recommend Dr.Howes and her staff.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been bringing my dog Tater Tot here since day 1, she’s 5 now, and I truly am so glad we’ve been with them! We’ve had everything from tummyaches, to stitches, to even dental surgery, and she has always healed quickly and efficiently. My dog is particularly anxious at the vet too, and they always take a moment to help her feel comfortable. What I like the most about them is they’re realistic and straightforward with care, they don’t push unnecessary medication or procedures, you can tell that the facility is ran by people who all have pets and love them themselves and as a pet parent, I’ve always had trust in our vets here! Dr. Putnam & Dr. Blanar have always been particularly fantastic with us. Very thankful for this place and it’s service, highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: I'm pretty sure this is the highest rated veterinary clinic in Tampa, and for good reasons. They're clean, friendly, efficient, low cost, and walk in only. I wish we would have found them when we moved back to the area 3 years ago. I never imagined you could have an animal seen "right now" without having to come out of pocket $500-1000 just for walking in the door; which works out perfectly for me because I want everything done right now and hate having to schedule appointments when I am free and could have something done then and there. They came as a recommendation from one of our vets because we couldn't get our cat in the same day with him. To have our cat seen, have a wound on his tail cleaned, stapled, and get medication was under $300. Dr Howes is high speed, low drag. She had our cat assessed in about 5 minutes, and taken care of in 15 minutes. From check-in to check-out, we were there for 40 minutes, tops. I'll definitely be bringing more of our animals here in the future.

Experiencia negativa: I'm honestly really disgusted with their doctors here. My friend was waiting 3 hours to get her kitten checked because she thought he was dying just for them to take her 20 minutes before they closed. They didn't check his mouth properly or his gums. The doctor said she'll give him medicine to help him eat yet it just made him worse. She wasn't answering my friends questions on how to help him and just ignoring her. The doctor had also said how he's fine nothing to worry about just for me and my friend to take him to the emergency vet a couple hours later and learning he was dying and that doctor didn't do her job. I'm very disappointed in this place and wouldn't recommend taking your cat here.

In the beginning, they thoroughly checked over my dog and found something that my prior vet had never noticed.They really helped me understand what was going on with my dog and gave me a solid plan moving forward. I met with Dr. Putnam last year (2022) in reference to our Bernese Mountain Dog and our desire to have her spayed & chipped. Dr. Putnam suggested we wait until our puppy has at least her first heat then we could proceed. Fast forward to 12/1/23 and the procedures were successful. Our Sophia is healing rapidly and back to her normal, loving self. Thank you Dr Putnam for your expert advice and a successful procedure. I recommend Animal Doctors of South Tampa for any of your pets needs, they really care!

My dog can be a bit aggressive towards other dogs, but they accommodated us and made the visit welcoming and helpful. I give it a 10/10!

Experiencia fantástica: I had a good experience with Animal Doctors of South Tampa this past week. I didn't have an appointment but only had to wait a short time. The Vet and the staff were very attentive to my pet and discussed what vaccines she needed updated and gave me a few pointers on diet and exercise.I will continue to bring my dog there as I felt they really care about our pets.

Experiencia fantástica: The Vets Techs, and Team at Animal Doctors of South Tampa, are some of the Best in Tampa Bay, yet this is the only place I go, I might be Biased. I have waited at times, yet they always answer my questions, provide great care, and take care of my Dog, who loves them, yet won’t admit it at times, yet he is a Big American Bulldog, and quite bull headed. I am provided with options, smiles and never judgment, it’s a proper Vet. I moved to the area many years ago and one of the newer vets who is now a more senior vet is truly kind and professional, they have built up a great team, and deal with the little things, withstanding pandemics, local issues, rapid boarding needs, and life, they are professional's who are also true animal lovers, with all the stress that presents.

Experiencia fantástica: My curious little mischief maker Ash found a way to eat quite a bit of string and it ended up getting stuck throughout his entire intestinal system. I took him to an emergency vet that that was also very good, and found out he needed emergency surgery, but it was going to cost $5000-$10,000, or more depending on how much string he ate and where it was in his system. I didn't know what to do, I couldn't afford that and I only got approved $2000 on care credit. I reached out to a non-profit program that would work with our credit limit but they were booked solid and were unable to get Ash in for surgery. They recommended animal doctors of South Tampa and they agreed to do the surgery for the amount I was April ed for. I took Ash to the vet and after imaging found out that the string was Tangled so strongly into the intestines that the intestines started looking like accordions. So the doctor started emergency surgery and came out about halfway through and told me that she had gotten as much out as she could but that the string had anchored itself into Ash's colon. She essentially told me that I either needed to have him put down or she needed to attempt to cut into the colon in order to remove the string. But it was a very risky surgery because the colon is very dirty and germy and can cause infection. But she was willing to try. She removed the string from the colon and gave him a whole bunch of meds and gave me instructions on how to care for him and I took him home. The next day. He was very lethargic and I ended up taking him back there to get him checked out and he was running a fever. He needed IV fluids and more antibiotics and the wonderful staff taught me how to give IV fluids at home so I could finish the second half of what they gave him in the office. I took him home and over the next 4 days I played nurse and comforter to my baby. Ash has done a great job of recovering. I got to be a nurse and give my cat IV fluids. He's been under constant supervision and he is beginning to get his spunk back and eating again and he's becoming my little boy again without the staff in the doctor at animal. My senior Corgi was a rescue that never saw the vet on a regular basis and he get EXCITED when I need to bring him in. ADST got my boy on a thyroid med and had me put him on a diet and it's like watching him age backwards. He has energy for days and can jump and play like any other dog when it wasn't an option for him before. If you love your baby, bring them here!!! They will get the care they deserve and you'll get the piece of mind that the care was done right. Adst's crew is keeping this bug young and healthy

Experiencia fantástica: By far the best vet we’ve ever been to. Every doctor we’ve seen here has been so thorough and invested. This past visit, Dr. Dre went above and beyond for my dog, took extra time out of her day for him, and I’m very thankful. The male vet tech (I didn’t catch his name) was also awesome. I personally like that they don’t take appointments, we’ve never had a long wait there. Can’t recommend this vet more. We moved to St Pete but I will continue to come here

Animal doctors of South Tampa was quick to answer the phone and welcomed us to come as a new patient. We walked in, were evaluated and left with treatment/antibiotics quickly in under 2 hours. Experiencia fantástica: These folks try to save you money while also trying to save your (well, my) best friends. They are all super professional and polite. I bring all of my pets here. We love the care that the veterinarians and the vet technicians provide. Our cats (4) all come here, and they all seem to be okay with it. No fights or freakouts from my cats. They are very gentle and professional with my babies in their care. I get the impression that they all love the pets we bring in, as it should be a love for animals that draws people to this profession. Animal Doctors has been there for us, and I feel like they can handle some emergencies. I have also visited the emergency vet that's not too far from animal doctors. I live south of Gandy, and this is really close to us, but the primary message I intend to share is, great care, super professional, courteous, affordable... what more could one ask? Thanks animal doctors, for taking care of our babies!

Experiencia fantástica: My dog came in for a neutering. The staff and veterinarian were informative and thorough about the pre-op, procedure, and post-op care. They were kind and professional with me and very gentle and inviting with my dog. After the procedure, I received a call from the veterinarian who provided me with an update. Upon picking up my dog, I received post-op care instructions and medication. My dog is still upset with me about the procedure, but he's doing very well. The cost of the procedure was fair and reasonable.

Experiencia fantástica: The Vet was very nice and professional, and did what was asked of her, however, I noticed her exam was fast but be her way of examining my pet. This was my first visit with this clinic which is a larger clinic which I am use to.

I read some of the reviews and the one from Chris Hembree talking smack about Nancy in the office (the fact that she said the older woman with the black hair) is just wrong! Nancy is kind and sweet and always goes out of her way to make sure in this very busy environment that she says hi and smiles! Chris needs to stop talking about people she doesn’t even know! Experiencia fantástica: I had the best experience here! My pooch was sneezing blood. They were able to see me where my current vet couldn’t. Dr. Dre is one straight shooter and I appreciated that. My dog is a biter when I’m in the room but he was great with her. If I didn’t have a tight, rigorous schedule, I’d switch. They don’t take appointments which is the only downfall. I HIGHLY recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot say enough good things about this place - Especially Dr. Dre (Andrea Blanar). I have trusted this staff with my dogs life and I have zero regrets. All of the doctors are incredibly knowledgeable. They also are very understanding of their own limits and refer out when necessary. The pricing is fair and the tests conducted are only ordered when necessary (this is by far no where close to a scamy vet office) They are reasonable and set expectations appropriately. All around, this group is full of the most professional veterinarians and vet techs I have ever seen. Even the office staff is courteous and professional. The culture built at this clinic is what makes it stand above the rest. If you’re contemplating taking your pet here, you will not regret it. I, personally, will never see a different vet ever again!

Experiencia negativa: I arrived today at 4:38 for a distemper shot. I need this shot for a grooming appointment. I checked the website which states open until 5:30 no appointment only walk-in. I called also because I wanted to be sure I didn’t waste my time. The recording said the same thing, open until 5:30. I was turned away because the doctors had a 2 hour wait all day with other pets and decided to close early. While I understand getting slammed at work, their last minute decision doesn’t help other customers who arrive within the regular work day know that was their decision. The ease of getting in and out of the vet was why I chose them. I wouldn’t have expected them to close 45 minutes early. Wasted my time

Experiencia negativa: I’ve been a patient client at this veterinary clinic for over four years and have always appreciated the care my dog, Mojo, received. However, during my recent visit, the new veterinarian seemed more focused on justifying their position and ego rather than understanding Mojo’s history. I felt lectured and condescended to, with no appreciation for my bluntness or time constraints. Despite years of loyalty and bringing in family and friends, I was told I couldn’t return, which was upsetting. This experience felt more like an attempt to assert authority than provide genuine care. It’s disheartening to be treated this way after years of positive experiences.

The Staff and Drs are caring, supportive, professional people. Dr. Dre. has performed multiple complicated surgeries on my Bouvier and Dauchund all being successful. We are always treated very exceptionally well by everyone.

They are amazing and now I bring all 5 of my cats 25 minutes each way to see this amazing team. Dr Hall saved the life of my cat 10 years ago while he was with foster parents and I have never looked back. They were vital in managing our dogs complicated diabetes and cushings condition. Dr Dre is amazing. Everyone has the utmost compassion and you do not feel like they are trying to squeeze you for money for unnecessary treatments ans diagnostics. They take a conservative approach, are priced very very fairly! And they are a walk in- you will not be turned away or told you need to pay an upcharge to be squeezed in.

Recently showed up with Yogi having an intestinal issue. After given a thorough exam she went home with nothing much other than probiotics, a discomfort medication and viola all is now well… highly recommend.
