Experiencia fantástica: 5 star rating in all respects. They’ve cared for my dog twice. Everyone was friendly and thoughtful from beginning to end. Spent lots of time taking a history of my pup’s problem. Gave great care and great advice. Very reasonably priced. I recommend them wholeheartedly.
Experiencia fantástica: A godsend of a providers office. Everyone is so kind and thoughtful and educational. My poor little guy had an internally impacted anal gland (cue ongoing consistent fear because it’s one of those things you don’t know until you know ) and they got him in within the hour saving my anxiety and his little leaky bum. He’s his normal cuddly self again, and seems less uncomfortable so I’m eternally grateful for this practice. 100/10 (And priced especially fairly too, even for an emergent appointment my gosh)

Experiencia fantástica: The team here is very compassionate and patient. I had good experiences both times I had to bring in my cat. The vet explained things to me and was very kind and understanding about financial concerns. I really felt supported in making decisions for my animal that honored both my situation and my cats needs. Ultimately, I had to make the hard decision, and the team was really as kind and wonderful as I could have hoped for.

Experiencia negativa: This experience is one of the greatest regrets of my life. We brought our dog in with sudden hind-end weakness. After nearly $900 in tests and fees, we were sent home with a diagnosis of gastroenteritis. When it became clear the diagnosis was wrong. A second facility diagnosed myasthenia gravis, but by then critical time had been lost and our dog developed megaesophagus and fatal aspiration pneumonia. We left this clinic nearly $1,000 poorer, with a much sicker pet and less time to help him. Tests were done behind closed doors, yet no bloodwork was performed that might have identified the real issue. We are sharing this so other pet owners can make informed decisions when time and accuracy matter most.

Experiencia fantástica: My fiance and I were so desperate because my kitty was deathly ill. It was during covid so no one was accepting new patients. Ryan was walking by and caught a vet tech on her break. She was so moved she got us in and saved Millys life!

Experiencia negativa: Go to Dove Lewis. They make it very difficult to see anyone. They will try to charge you for the most expensive things that aren’t necessary. While nice, and I’m sure doing good work, just try and get an appointment and see how many obstacles the throw at you.

Experiencia fantástica: I recently brought my Chunky man to Heart and Soul for a second opinion after a tentative diagnosis I wasn’t sure about. From the very first phone call to the moment I picked him up, every staff member was empathetic, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly—you can tell they truly enjoy what they do. Dr. Messer was incredibly thorough, taking the time to explain not just what was happening but also why, which I really appreciated. I left Heart and Soul feeling so much more reassured than I had after visiting the emergency vet just a few days earlier. Their pricing was very reasonable, and I never felt pressured into unnecessary tests or procedures. Most importantly, they treated me with respect and didn’t make me feel guilty if there was something I couldn’t afford. Overall, I’d give them an A+ and highly recommend them to anyone looking for compassionate, honest, and high-quality veterinary care. (I don’t know if Chunk would agree as he was prescribed a cone collar and he absolutely hates it. This is a pic of him pouting in it)
Experiencia fantástica: We rushed here on a Sunday with our elderly dog, fully expecting a long wait based on other emergency clinics. They were fast, very caring and didn’t hesitate to see our dog and give him excellent care. These people have hard jobs and obviously care deeply about their animal patients. I was impressed when a person came rushing in with a dog in respiratory distress. The person appeared to perhaps be sleeping rough and said another clinic had refused to see them. Heart and Soul evaluated this dog quickly and I will forever have the image of this small vet picking up this dog up and running with it to the treatment area. No hesitation at all. So much respect for the staff, I am impressed with what you do.
Experiencia fantástica: I’ve had to take both of my dogs here. Both times the staff has been excellent and communication with the vets has been top notch. I brought in one dog for a suspected abscess which turned out to be a fairly mild ailment that could be treated with medication, thankfully. More recently, I brought in my other dog, Fawn, due to lethargy and pale gums. Heart and Soul very quickly ascertained that Fawn needed emergency care and referred her to DoveLewis. They called DoveLewis in advance and sent Fawn’s medical records over so she could start treatment right away. Heart and Soul’s quick action helped DoveLewis save Fawn’s life and I will always be grateful for that. Thank you Heart and Soul!
Experiencia fantástica: My sweet pittie girl was showing signs of a UTI. On Friday night, she had an accident in the house. Something she hasn’t done since she was potty trained. My regular vet wasn’t able to get her until Monday, so I immediately called heart and soul and they got her in the next morning. The entire staff is kind, lovely, and really took care of my anxious girl. The doctor was thorough and called me with all updates. He was able to get her on some pain medicine and antibiotics asap. I dropped her off at 9:15 and was back home with her by 11. I can’t tell you how much their care and kindness for her meant to me. They explained everything so thoroughly and made sure I didn’t have any questions left unanswered. If you’re ever in an emergency situation and your regular vet can’t see your dog right away, I highly recommend heart and soul!
Experiencia fantástica: Such a great experience after visiting a horrible emergency vet. We got in quick. We were told an amount to pay upfront for our initial appointment/assessment and we paid in advance. Got super empathetic and caring service when we arrived and they soothed my 16 year old daughter who has had her pug since she was 4 years old. They kept our dog for a couple of hours then called us promptly.They made a diagnosis, gave us medication and instructions and made our day!!! Thank you for caring about our pet !
Experiencia fantástica: My partner & I had to make the heart wrenching decision to put our girl Nova to rest versus more discomfort, and H&S really made the process as easy as possible. Experiencia fantástica: First time taking our old girl Frank (21 yo) here for some GI issues. They were so wonderful! Very caring, thoughtful, and kind. The price was far less than expected as well. Hope to not have to come back to urgent care, but if I do they were definitely worth the drive across town.

Experiencia fantástica: Incredible team. Quick on the phone and informative while making same day appointment with pre-paid holding ($135 as of 04/2025). My boy had congestive heart failure and they were able to perform X-ray and start immediate treatment. Their fast and considerate care gave me more time with my sweet boy, and that's all you can pray for with end of life. They listened to my concerns with handling financial aspect of care and provided reasonable cost for emergency service... No other emergency clinic would be this affordable and honest to help prioritize the truly necessary action. My Giovanni thanks the staff ❤️

Experiencia fantástica: The staff at Heart and Soul were very busy over a holiday weekend, but were incredibly kind and compassionate treating my puppy with a sick tummy. Excellent communication. A staff member loaned me a phone charger when I realized I was about to be out of battery. We were the last patient of the day, and I watched the staff leave after such a long day and was impressed by their good humor and kindness. They sure lived up to their name for us!

Experiencia fantástica: some of the sweetest damn people i’ve ever met. i’ve brought my bsfs cat in for suspected blockage, got tests done through them but surgery through another vet, and they were absolutely wonderful then. i just brought my kitty in for.. a tummy ache. lol but i had previous trauma from the blockage so i freaked out and brought her in, better safe than sorry! and they were absolutely amazing then as well! my phone was turned off and i wasn’t able to receive texts or calls for when my baby was ready for pickup, and they worked with me on that and we were able to find a solution which i can not be more grateful for i’m also a pet sitter and had an incident with a pet where i couldn’t get a hold of the owner, and wasn’t sure what to do. the lady who answered the phone was so SO insanely sweet and calmed me down, and let me know what signs to look out for to determine if it was an emergency or if i could wait it out for the owners consent, which was a 2 day ordeal! i called the first day and she gave me the signs to look out for, and then i ended up showing them some photos i thought were concerning, and god i can not thank that lady enough. i was in a constant state of panic waiting for the owners opinion, and she helped me so so much. these people are truly the best, anytime anything urgent happens they are ALWAYS my go to also, yay! 666th review haha

Experiencia fantástica: My cat got out and wasn't eating when she came back. This team really care for her & for me by making sure I understood the "treatment plan". Jorja immediately ate once we got home, and has been progressing back to her feisty self! They were able to get us in quick and were reasonable about the charges.

Experiencia fantástica: My cat and I were very fortunate to be seen by Melissa and Dr. Jensen today on an urgent basis - I cannot say enough positive things about the way they helped us. They were gentle, compassionate, kind and warm. Beyond that, the medicine and treatments were thoroughly explained, Dr Jensen took care to educate us on every part of the diagnostics and prognosis. Bill is on his way to recovery, thank you so much for all that you do.

Experiencia fantástica: We’ve taken our dog Donnie here a handful of times now and have had great experiences each visit. Typically, we only take him here if our regular vet is closed or booked. Each visit , this clinic fits us into their schedule and is very accommodating to us and our pet. They are super friendly at the front desk and their doctors are knowledgeable in many aspects. It can be very stressful having a pet emergency and Heart and Soul has helped ease this worry for us. They time and time again make our oftentimes unpredicted visits as leisured as possible. Our dog is comfortable here and that says a lot! (He’s an anxious boy). I highly recommend this clinic to any pet owner who values their time, finances and timely communication.

Experiencia fantástica: Brought my pup in today for an urgent care visit. Staff was very kind, the doc was awesome, she spent time to answer all my questions. Did not push for tests that weren't really needed. Left with a smaller bill than I'd expected.
Experiencia negativa: Took my dog there twice and both times got bad experiences. First time was a couple years ago, been there and came back home with nothing solve.The doctor said opened his wound but couldn’t see anything. Had to take him to regular pet hospital after(able to get a fox tail grass out from him). Paid and got anesthesia for nothing at your place and had to do it twice somewhere else. This second time, wanna give another chance. My dog got stitches and a couple days later, the stitches was fallen off, by 5 days his stitches all gone and the wound opened again. Had to take him to regular pet hospital twice again to get a stitches. waste of time for my dog to heal , waste my money twice and already told you what happened, got nothing back to take or show any responsibility.

I'm so sorry to hear that! Unfortunately some laceration wounds are at high risk if dehiscence, especially ones on the paw pads. If we had known this had happened, we would've corrected it for you. Experiencia negativa: It's been nearly a year since I visited. When I saw the store front it brought back all the frustration from my last visit. These people are terrible. Customer service, terrible. Paperwork inaccurate. Treatment nonexistent. Bill, was very real. I will never visit this horrible place again. I recommend taking your furry friend anywhere else. H&S if you want to know why I'm so upset. Look at my records and give me a call. Complete incompetence. You did zero to help my dog. She was in obvious discomfort with a UTI. Your team could not even examine her ears. I took her the next week after zero help and had her treated for both a uti and double ear infection. Never again!!

Experiencia fantástica: Fantastic team!!! Everyone who helped us was so kind. When every other urgent care vet told us they were too packed, Heart & Soul told us they could help. We were able to get in within a couple hours and they told us exactly what our kitty needed. I will pay whatever I need to for my kitties to be healthy and safe. That being said, this isn't the cheapest place... HOWEVER! When you consider you are paying for a literal urgent appointment with a staff of helpful & well-trained people, it makes sense. I don't agree with the reviews claiming this clinic is trying to just get you to pay for anything and everything. They sincerely care about the animals they're helping! If they think your pet needs something, well hell, your pet probably needs it! Thank you!!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Our pup broke her nail really bad, and while Heart and Soul couldn't get us in the day it happened, we were able to schedule an appointment for 9am the next day. The staff was very sweet and kind with our dog. We left her in their care around 9:20, and got the call around 10:45 for her nail removal was successful, and we could pick her up at noon. While our dog was groggy from the sedation, she is healing nicely. On top of it all the price wasn't too bad. We highly recommend Heart and Soul for any pet emergency!

Experiencia positiva: The doctor was precise in his assessment and thorough. The recommended course of action was reasonable. The medical assistant was also thorough and her notes were clearly read by the vet. Setting an appointment for Urgent Care was not difficult. The front office staff was uneven- though I understand the stress staff is under.

Experiencia fantástica: So, so appreciative of the staff here! I took my dog in this past week who was acting completely out of the ordinary, was refusing to lay down/sleep, was whining nonstop and honestly looked exhausted. It scared the hell out of our family. Luckily she was able to be seen quickly and while she hates the vet (I’m so sorry) and can be a tough dog to work with, they did an excellent job working with her and treating her with care, support, and compassion. I can’t thank yall enough for taking care of my girl. Thank you for all you do for pets!

Experiencia negativa: Buyer beware! They will try to make you spend all your money. I think your pet will get great care here, however, they will try to get you to take as many X-rays and tests that they can get you to agree to. The tech was very nice and treated my cat very nicely, but it's the doctor who was a problem. They do not care about your budget. Also, in my case, they told me they had an opening, come right away, then I had to wait for hours, was an all day affair. Which can be oK for emergencies, but DISHONEST on their part...just to get you in there. the doctor talked to me about pain and inflammation medications, I told him the 2 that I wanted and thought would be best for my pet, and they put all 3 in the bag and charged me. Had to then get a refund of the one I did not want which took more time and they behaved like they had never done a refund before. I was able to keep my bill to below $300 and they told me to never come back again. I'm pretty sure that hardly anyone walks out of this clinic for less than a $1000...is their goal. Just be warned!
Hi Leslie, I'm sorry to hear this was your experience with us. That said, it looks like we last saw you in April, so we're a little perplexed to be receiving this feedback now, nine months later. As you mentioned, it looks like we offered diagnostics, which you declined. We offered pain medication for your pet's painful injury, which you had accepted, but ultimately declined pain medication to be given at home. I promise you that our offering of pain medication was not to take advantage of you, it was purely because we felt it was in the best interest of your pet's well being. It's correct that we told you that you're not the right fit for us, clearly this stands to be true for both of us. I know our team does an amazing job. They are compassionate and hard working. And our efforts are always in the best interest of the pet. We appreciate clients that understand that.
Experiencia fantástica: Wish i wasn't writing this review but i feel thankful for the Dr and her support staff I think that I will be able to remember the Dr's face when she helped Noodlez my service dog for almost 8 years be released to the rainbow in the sky Noodlez until our souls meet again) he was my best friend he and I never spent even one night apart since i brought him home he literally went EVERYHERE with me my heart is broken and until our Souls meet again i know he's watching over me and making sure that I'm! I just lost both of my parents one day apart and they were my best friends as well I couldn't have asked for better help with making such a difficult decision if I could give 20 Stars I would I appreciate the compassion they stayed way late they sent me a condolences card they gave me a little paw print I highly recommend if you have to see a vet! Go hear!! I will go there thank you to all the staff during such a difficult time I never imagined that's how my day would end but it did and it sucks. Thank you again I appreciate what you did for me and Noodlez!!!!! I hope that you especially the Dr what you did for us im still unable to stop crying everyday all day I'm just lost without him here even ss i type this hes just always here and I have to believe it will get easier as time goes by its just right now that seems impossible! We planted a Memorial tree in the yard I went and picked it out I asked the nursery worker for a tree that looked like noodles and it looks like Noodlez and he used to be my helper when I would walk with my cane or walking stick and the tree is called a walking stick so it's perfect thank you again for all of your compassion!

I couldn’t even get through to the urgent care facility recommended by my regular vet, but found Heart and Soul on google and they answered the phone quickly and jumped into action for us immediately. The reception staff, techs, and vet were very kind and communicative and made us confident that they had our pet’s best interest in mind. They provided detailed follow-up instructions and answered all of our questions thoroughly. They also were transparent about costs and we found our bill to be very reasonable for veterinary urgent care. We are grateful for the kindness and expertise offered by Dr. Jackie and team.

Experiencia negativa: No Heart & No Soul. Just greed. I don't even know where to begin with the horrible experience I had here.. I have had Pet parents tell me how traumatized they have been with vets and groomers. I never understood that feeling until I took my dog here... Unfortunately, my dog got sick during the holidays so on 12/31/24, I called all vets in the area. Now it's a holiday and it's after the holidays so my budget was tight. H&S was $100 cheaper then the ER(From now on I'd rather pay the extra $100). I was nervous because I thought my pitty ate something and needed surgery but I wasn't sure because I did recently adopt her and never had this issue with other dogs before. Now, mind you I am a mess when I'm calling them I can barley speak I'm so heart broken my dog won't eat. They send me over a form to fill out which states: "Do we have your concent for all these things if you need it to be done, CPR, Fluid, Sedation. "(prices right next to every question) I did decline those service because if my dog needed it they would call for a verbal consent. They also didn't even see my dog before asking the questions. I could afford surgery if needed but I couldn't just blow money at anything and everything. Plus my dog wasn't eating so I didn't want them to sedate her. Well as I am a mess in their lobby the very rude vet tech comes out and very distastefully yells out: "So you declined all these so if your dog needs CPR, you don't want us to resuscitate" it just made me feel like I shouldn't even own a dog in this economy. Yet, I thought rescuing a dog and trying to get it medical attention when needed was the love you need to own a dog. But to this vet you also need money. Anyways, I unfortunately left my dog here and spent $1300 for them to give her some nausea medication and tell me it could be something blocked in her stomach but they wouldn't know unless I paid another $300 for a different X-ray that they could have probably offered me from the beginning. So, I left that day to start my new year off with no answers on my dog besides 'there could be something in her stomach but I don't know. ' The nausea medication and everything worked for barely a day. Then my dog started going back to acting the same. Again I don't have thousands of dollars to throw here and there. So I was trying to wait for my vet and they couldn't get me in until 5 days post appointment. Then on day three I ended up taking her to another urgent Care... Let me tell you, The experience I had at the next urgent Care was a MILLION times better than I ever could expected. The doctor within 10 minute told us it's a blockage and we need to pump it out or do surgery. They didn't make me feel like because I couldn't afford surgery I would have put my dog down. And heart and soul made me feel like I would have put my dog down because I didn't have enough money. After working in the pet industry for 10 years I have heard stories of people telling me how traumatized they have been with vets and groomers.. I personally haven't had that experience until I came to this vet. I would never spend my money here again and I would never recommend them if anything I would do the complete opposite. I'm writing this so hopefully somebody reads this when they're in distress and don't know what to do and if you want your animal survive spend the extra $100 at another vet. When your already emotional from your animal not doing well and financially trying to figure out how to keep your baby alive. You don't deserve to feel like money is the only thing that will keep them alive.. Last thing, my baby has never showed signs of aggression toward anyone not even vets After taking her here, she hasn't been same toward vets or people. I don't know what happened. But if I could guess they probably muzzled her the whole 5 hours she was there because I refused to sedate her.... I think any logical person would refuse sedation after their dog didn't eat for a day. Save yourself the humiliation and save your baby by taking them to a vet that actually cares.

First, it is standard procedure to ask for consent for emergency treatment at the urgent care in case a pet presents with life threatening illness or injury and it's always okay to decline these services. Our team's intention was only to clarify your wishes for the day. I'm very sorry you felt otherwise.
Second, our medical record demonstrates that our doctor and team did in fact provide you with a diagnosis of a suspected foreign material based on abdominal radiographs. However, it was unclear at that time where it was located within the bowel, which makes a difference in terms of your pet's need for surgery vs ability to pass the material naturally. Recommendations were provided to obtain this additional information including pneumocolonography vs recheck fasted x-rays. These options were declined. Blood work and outpatient therapy were elected with a plan to have your pet rechecked immediately if symptoms were to continue. Our x-ray findings, presumed diagnosis, and recommendations were included in your discharge instructions you received that day.
Third, I've confirmed with our team that your pet was not muzzled for any duration of time during the visit. In fact, we never muzzle pets for a prolonged period of time. Your pet was however demonstrating some evidence of separation anxiety, despite our team doing their very best to provide comfort and reassurance. As stated above, you had declined anti-anxiety medication/sedation for your pet.
I want to apologize again for your unsatisfactory experience with us. We strive to provide an experience where our pet patients and pet parents feel well taken care of and sadly we didn't meet that goal for you. I do want to say that my team is in this industry because we care so deeply about taking care of pets and their people. I couldn't be more proud of the work I see my team doing every single day helping pets in need. I can promise you that your pet was well taken care of throughout the duration of her time with us.

Experiencia negativa: I did not like my experience with Heart & Soul. I brought my cat in for a minor issue but my regular vet didn’t have an appointment for a few weeks so they recommended an urgent care visit. They made me feel shame for my cat’s health, like it did something wrong. I left her there for an hour, they called me back saying they didn’t have any clear answers. Then I got a text saying that my pet was ready to be picked up. However I waited for more than half an hour for them to discharge my cat. My cat’s health has declined greatly since. Ever since that visit my cat has lost huge clumps of hair, lost a ton of weight, chest is filled with fluid.. (symptoms that showed up shortly after the visit with H&S). I called and left a message about possible side effects of the meds they administered. I heard nothing back. We were able to get into my regular vet yesterday and they gave my cat a month to live. I almost feel that if I had just waited to see my regular vet there would be a better outcome, but instead I feel heartbroken & very upset. I can’t say that we received good care at H&S.
We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with your experience, and to learn that your pet’s condition has worsened. Unfortunately with some disease processes, there is not an ability to provide a diagnosis based on the exam alone. When we saw your pet on 11/18/24 you elected to hold off on performing diagnostic testing (labwork, radiographs, etc) in favor of following up with your primary veterinarian in 2 days, because of this there was not enough clinical information to provide a definitive diagnosis. Management has reviewed the case and have determined that our doctors responded clinically appropriately to your concerns about your pet.
We were able to retrieve your voicemail, left on 11/25/24 with your inquiries regarding worsening signs and medication questions. We did fail to return this communication and we are incredibly sorry for this error; this was a missed opportunity for us to provide support. We would be happy to discuss any concerns regarding your pets' care with us and learn more about how we could have supported you better.
Experiencia fantástica: We love the team at Heart and Soul! Our sweet baby Katsu recently had what turned out to be a UTI, and of course the symptoms showed up on a weekend when our neighborhood vet was closed. H&S was able to get us in, and what impressed me most was how well-run and managed the place is. Several other anxious pet owners were there, but the waiting room is clean and comfortable, with a calm and relaxed feel (big windows, plants, comfy seats). I observed everyone working together and my experience felt seamless, from Faye in the front to the techs who popped in to help. Dr. Rubin called me not long after I dropped Katsu off with a very thorough and concise explanation and treatment plan. We put a credit card on file, making it easy to handle billing (Katsu needed some meds). Our Katsu is on the mend and we are so very appreciative of the caring, calm, and collected approach from everyone at H&S! We highly recommend them if you are in need of urgent care for your furry friends!
Experiencia fantástica: Great service all around! Prices were fair. There is a $125 deposit that covers the exam fee. I was greatful that there was a same day spot for my diabetic and blind Pomeranian. We normally get seen at Banfield however I knew that they wouldn’t see my dog for a wound and having worked with humans who are diabetic this was out of their scope. The total for the visit including the exam was around $800, which included the incision, drainage, liquid antibiotics (a plus!), basic labs ($250) which one could compare to a CBC panel plus basic metabolic panel, and a thorough discharge. The vet also performed a urine dip free of charge to rule out diabetic ketoacidosis (ketones in urine) which there wasn’t any! The prices might be out of reach for some but as long as you call by early afternoon you may get seen same day especially if your dog is elderly or has a chronic illness. If you call past 4pm you probably won’t get seen same day as they close at 8pm. They do perform surgeries in house as I overheard from reception talking to other customers however, pending time left in operating hours. Great place to consider if you have a quick concern and pet is relatively stable and within business hours. Not a place for middle of the night emergencies! Loved the service would use again!
Experiencia fantástica: I lost my sweet boy Noodles a few days ago but this team did all they could. They rushed him in immediately but he was gone within minutes; as it tends to be with congestive heart failure and embolisms. The staff were empathetic but the vet still kept it real with me, which I really appreciated. They let me take my time to sit with his body and say my goodbyes; even long enough for my partner to make it in and say his goodbyes too. I imagine working in this environment is hard and in many ways thankless, so I deeply appreciate how gently the staff handled the situation, and how quickly the acted for my boy.

You can contact Mickey Kornblum’s family for more information about what happened. I wish I had a good story to share about my experience at Heart and Soul. It’s such a great name! We were referred here by a emergency vet hospital that was too expensive after my kitty started having gastrointestinal distress and strange behavior. It was a drop off situation, which made us uncomfortable… we are a tight knit family. It took 2 visits and about $1500 to discern absolutely nothing about what was wrong with our little guy. But when we picked him up, he was so traumatized he sprayed all over my son and the car. He has learned to spray thanks to the people here. Now I know to avoid these businesses that employ people who treat animals with hands lacking in kindness and gentleness. It was so horrible to wait outside for hours worrying about him and then just have not really a diagnosis but an upset kitty and who knows what they did to him while I couldn’t be there. It will always haunt me.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give a 0 star rating I would. I took my dog here for a UTI on the weekend and left without treatment waiting for results. When the results finally came in on Wednesday I never eeceived a call and was left on hold for 1.5 hours. They closed without answering and were then closed all day Thursday with no reponse on results or treatment plan with my pet getting sicker. I finally took her elsewhere and we were promptly treated. I am appalled at the poor care provided and the fact that they couldn't be bothered to answer their phones while open to help me take care of my pet. If you have an ill pet, I highly encourage you to take them elsewhere.

Experiencia fantástica: Today we urgently needed to get our cat seen. H&S got him seen same day when our vet was unable to do so. We received very kind and compassionate care from all the staff. I was so thankful to Dr. Rubin for the amount of time she spent with me on the phone explaining everything to me and giving us options. She was very compassionate and understanding. When we picked our kitty up, the vet assistant who brought him out spent a great deal of time reviewing everything with us as well. Never felt rushed and in a hurry to move on. Thank you ladies for what you do and for making us feel comfortable during a sad time.

My dog's dying because of a misdiagnosis from their vets that had me to believe she had cancer and I really didn't have hope to save her. Turns out she had a hernia that could've easily been saved. Dove Lewis wanted 8g to help her so i how'd they would be "compassionate" since they led me to believe wrong information. Though even though since Lewis did an exam this morning. They wanted another 150 simply to see her when i know she needs surgery. I'm here cause of their rushed job when she had a fever. From the time I got on the phone when she realized I had low income she is trying to get me off the phone. This place doesn't care about you or your pet. Seriously I'm losing my dog when I could have helped her if they hadn't told me the wrong info but she just wanted to get me off the phone
Experiencia negativa: Worst vet experience I’ve ever had. I made the appointment over the phone and they explained it would be a few hours. After arriving, they told me that it could be six hours of my dog waiting in a kennel. I was reluctant about that but since I had already paid a non-refundable Deposit, I decided to move forward. That was the next mistake. I made the vet tech was as fake as the fake freckles on her face. My dog had a hematoma. Which is essentially cauliflower, ear and old scar tissue. Another thing I had mentioned over the phone when scheduling the appointment she needed her ears to be cleaned and to get a steroid. That is it. She was in a lot of discomfort and after talking to many other vets since I’m from out of town, they recommended heart and soul, when so said vet tech came out she had no idea what an oral hematoma even was asked. How long has the dogs ear been crinkly for crinkly… Is her ear a type of potato chip? I then proceeded to ask if she knew what that even was and she said no I definitely didn’t want my In their care for six hours, if they couldn’t even tell this problem. The only thing this place wants is to get your money upfront and do not care for the well-being of your pet. I expressed my concern of my dog being in a cage for six hours when all she needed was an ear cleaning and a steroid prescription. Which again I had voiced over the phone and they said that would be no problem after getting the records from my previous vet, unless it’s a huge emergency, I would recommend staying away from this profit business. My dog is now still in a lot of discomfort with no help from them. Sidenote receptionist passed on information to another customer saying it’s probably bad news lymphoma which is actually really bad news. Probably not the best way to tell a grieving dog owner. It’s probably really bad news sorry for those who have to visit this sad establishment.
Experiencia fantástica: So thankful for Heart + Soul Urgent Care. They helped me through a very stressful time where my cat got an abscess on his head and it became infected. They have also advised me when I could not afford care if my pet's condition was okay to watch and treat from home and what symptoms to look for that would actually be considered urgent. This is not something a lot of vets do, as I have almost always been told that every situation you should have your pet examined and go from there but sometimes that is not always financially feasible or necessary, depending on the condition of your pet. It's amazing to have a place that does not just prioritize their ability to make money, but ultimately the health of you and your pet.

He is a tough cookie to work with because he is so incredibly anxious, and the staff didn't make me feel bad about that at all. The vet was so communicative with me about the best options both medically and emotionally for my pup and took a lot of time to answer and small questions I had. He is on the mend and already feeling so much better. I feel secure having a plan of action moving forward because the vet gave me a full scope of what we could expect to see, and what to do in each scenario. For an urgent care, the prices are super reasonable. I felt that they weren't upcharging me the same way most emergency vets do, and they quote the amount before proceeding with any care.

They gave my cat the care he needed and were incredibly communicative throughout the process of getting him looked over and presenting options to me. Hogan and her team were thorough in trying to find out what exactly was wrong with her. They were proactive in talking to my home vet office about my cat's needs. They gave me good advice, pain management for my cat and were available when I needed more advice on helping my cat feel better. They were transparent with pricing and reasonable in their fees. Experiencia fantástica: This place is AMAZING!!! I was extremely nervous about having to take my pup to an urgent care facility after hearing so many horror stories of having to wait hours and hours and paying way too much $$$ at emergency/urgent facilities. This place was very realistic with the time windows. I was seen with in 30 mins of my time slot (they said to expect 30-90 mins). I was told I would receive an update with in 2 hrs which I got the call with in the 2 hr window and had a seamless pickup. The staff was able to get my very large nervous dog to walk in without me which I never thought would happen. They Kept in constant communication with me about the time frame and the options for my pets care, was extremely reasonably priced and most importantly provided the most loving, phenomenal care to my pup. The staff spent so much time answering all my questions, reviewed my after care instructions three times and made sure I had everything I needed. They even saved me $$ by letting me wait till the morning to check with my regular vet to see if I already had certain blood work done which would allow my pup a different medicine. Any other place would have made me do the bloodwork or charge me for a second appointment. Dr. Hogan and her team truly love animals and you can tell the second you walk in. I only wish her team could be my pups primary care vet. They are the best in Portland and I have been to multiple vets in the area as one of my dogs has very complex medical needs.

Without getting too emotional, Heart and Soul made some of my hardest days a little easier. They took initiative, listened, and prioritized my pup when 2 other ED turned us away. Very communicative and honest, not looking for a quick dollar. They gave me plenty of options for care and worked in my budget. Months later- When the day came to say goodbye to my sweet girl they showed so much love and support. They offered us a blanket, treats and as much time as we needed. It made us feel truly valued. I knew she was in the best hands even after she passed.

He was having trouble with his back legs and could not walk well. They ran the right tests, communicated clearly on the costs beforehand and while vet care can be expensive, the peace of mind that came from Dr. Smyle's care cannot be measured. She and her team, from the first phone call to pick up, were amazing. If you need an urgent care for your dog, this is the BEST place. Heart and Soul could not be a more apt name.

Obviously concerned, I looked up vets in Portland area and Heart and Soul came up. Being from out of town, I was hesitant to leave her there for a few hours as it was their policy that owners drop off dog and get called when dog is ready. Happy I made the decision to go here. Staff and vet were so thorough with Mocha’s care every step of the way. They answered all my questions and concerns. Probably one of the best bet experiences I’ve had. The receptionist was so kind on the phone and same with all the techs. The check-in and discharge process is organized and seamless. Experiencia fantástica: HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! i am so so thankful and happy this urgent care exists. and quite honestly, i am not mad at the cost. i figured it being an urgent care, it would be more expensive but it’s not as bad as i thought. i took my 8 week old kitten named cheddar who i just got a week ago from a questionable home that didn’t take good care of him. i noticed he was meowing excessively (almost screaming) and shaking his head and scratching his ears excessively. he wouldn’t let me touch his ears. i called this place at 8am and got in at 10am and before noon, they found my poor baby had a double bacterial and fungal infection plus ear mites!! my heart sank but they did a VERY THOROUGH exam and they flushed and cleaned his ears and gave him all the medicine he needed! i felt so comfortable the entire time while i waited in my car and they took amazing care of him. they even gave us a goodie bag with a treat and his meds. he enjoyed his chicken and cheese stick SO MUCH!!! he’s back to being his energetic self all within just a day. thank you dr. hunter and all the great techs, nurses and front staff!

Experiencia negativa: Honestly terrible experience. Charged us $1,000 then pushed out the door. Asked to speak to the doctor a second time as the first time was a lot of information. Our dog had a battery of tests which were all inconclusive. The conversation shifted to end of life but before we made that final decision we asked for 5 minutes with the Doctor. The staff was completely unhelpful. The tech summarized what I already knew but wouldn't allow us to clear up our final questions with the doctor who treated our dog. Apparently the doctor had just left for the day and wouldn't be back for the rest of the week, it was Wednesday.. hard to believe. Pretty cold interaction given the situation. Would not recommend.

I can assure you, this was absolutely the intention of the doctor overseeing your pet's care. We would never rush anyone out the door, and I'm sorry you felt that way. Further, because we're open 7 days a week, it's true that we have some doctors working front of week vs end of week. I'm hoping we can connect over the phone to discuss your concerns in greater depth.

Experiencia fantástica: I had to bring my kitty here twice last week. I would absolutely recommend this place. Their drop-off system is super convenient (other urgent cares make you wait in the parking lot the entire duration of your pets stay. Here they let you leave while your pet is being treated.) Everyone I interacted with clearly loves animals. They are so compassionate and supportive. The pricing is extremely reasonable for an urgent care. After my cat was treated I had ongoing concerns and they took time to talk with me on the phone multiple times to work through it. I got the sense that they understood and were sympathetic to the fear I was feeling.

Experiencia fantástica: my cat was stung by a wasp today, and as an overbearing and obsessive cat parent, i definitely panicked. i called heart and soul and was helped immediately, and was able to bring my cat in less than an hour later. the person i spoke to on the phone and the vet were so kind, patient and communicative. it didn’t cost an arm and a leg and i never felt like i was being taken advantage of financially, as i have with previous emergency vets in the past. thank you heart and soul for treating tofu with care and kindness! i hope i don’t have to go back, but if i do, i know i can trust them completely.

Experiencia fantástica: Had an emergency with my fur bb when an abscess on her chest burst. This place was a big help, and they were able to see her the same day and got her all fix up. Going to the vet is expensive no matter what, but the cost of the visit ended up being pretty reasonable, and they were super communicative and gave clear instructions about aftercare. Experiencia fantástica: Great experience vs Dove Lewis who used to be great in the past but in the last 4 or more years, has been a challenge to try and get someone in less than 12 hours. Reception was also not pleasant. meanwhile, Heart and Soul, who is not a 24hr emergency, do have a great phone service and make an appointment and stick to it. I had a great service with the phone call, the person who came outside to take my dog and later the Dr who called and explained the next steps/meds/etc. Everything was amazing and simple. And they have a flat fee of $115 and if you cancel your appointment in case you had to take your animal to 24hr emergency, they will reimburse you. The cost of medicine was even less than my vet would charge. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely return and suggest H&S to everyone.

Experiencia fantástica: I had originally scheduled a home visit with Compassionate Care (a different company) for euthanasia however I desperately wanted to double check and make sure my baby didn't just have a rough flu or perhaps she needed to go back on prior medication and that would fix her up. I needed to give her one last chance so I brought her to Heart and Soul. The entire team treated me very respectfully and kindly. The doctor didn't try to up sale me, she understood my financial situation, and took care breaking the news with me gently while also assuring me that I did all I could, even if I took her to a bigger hospital for overnight care the odds did not look favorable. I am very grateful to this team. This wasn't my first time going through the euthanasia process but it was certainly the best. They take time staging the rooms so that you and your pet are comfortable and give you as much time as you need to say goodbye. A huge plus is that they let you pick out an urn and send you paw (and little nose) prints for free. Make sure you visit the website to check the appointment process (AND the services they provide), the earlier you call the better chances you have of being seen in a timely manner. It's a VERY busy urgent care please be patient with them, they are literally trying to save lives.

Experiencia fantástica: I was so relieved to be able to get my foster kitten in for an urgent care appointment. I scheduled the appointment just before they closed on a Saturday and was able to take him in early the next morning. The staff explained their procedures clearly, which made them easy to follow, even though they are unique. They also set realistic expectations about wait times. Staff were friendly, communicated clearly and timely, and I was able to pick my little guy within a couple of hours.

They were very polite and attentive from the initial call, and did their best to see her quickly. They took the time to thoroughly examine our cat, ran all the necessary tests, and explained everything in a way that made sense to us. We could tell they genuinely cared about our pet's well-being. What sets Heart and Soul apart is their genuine love for animals. The entire team went above and beyond to make our cat feel comfortable, safe, and loved. They treated her as if she were their own, showing compassion and kindness every step of the way. Communication was fantastic throughout the entire process. They kept us informed about the treatment options and involved us in the decision-making process. They patiently answered all our questions and addressed any concerns we had. Needing urgent care for a pet is a stressful situation and Heart and Soul alleviates as much of that stress as possible. While I don't ever want to NEED urgent care for our pets again, when we inevitably do I will absolutely be using their clinic.

Experiencia fantástica: This past Friday, my family and I brought in are almost 13 year old Basset Hound who had been have labored breathing. This place is the best service I had for any of my animals. We got the terrible news that Peanut was very sick and our best option was to put her down. All of the staff were so kind, compassionate, and smart. They made her room so lovely and comforting and let us spend as much time as we wanted with Peanut before she passed. They also sent us a beautiful card in the mail that all of the staff signed with her paw and nose prints. I will never forget the compassion they showed doing such a hard time. Experiencia fantástica: When I showed up without an appointment and my cat in pain, they immediately took him in to make sure he didn't have a urinary blockage. That to me shows a true care for animals that they would do that without the guarantee of my follow up business. I took my cat back a couple hours later when they had an appointment open and they were able to quickly diagnose his bladder stones. The vet took the time to discuss the dietary changes he'd need with me so that I understood and felt confident in them. The vet techs I interacted with were knowledgeable and also took the time to make sure I understood his continued care. Great staff and quality of care. Experiencia fantástica: The process of getting my dog some urgent care was really easy and timely! I called to make an appointment around 10:15 AM, got him in at 11, and took him home a little after 1 PM. Staff is friendly, courteous, and sensitive to the emotions that go through your mind when your pet is sick or in pain. My dog was happy to go with them and had a good time (all things considered) while he was there. There is a $115 deposit required at booking time to reserve your appointment, but any further charges only accrue after your explicit approval, which they ask for multiple times.

These folks were able to find time to check on my senior dog despite being busy. I felt they truly cared for his well-being and were up front about the process and the price-points at each step. I never felt I was being given a pitch and the final receipt was incredibly affordable. Emergencies are never great but I’m glad to know these folks are here for me if something ever happens again. Experiencia fantástica: Our cat was have difficulty urinating and we knew we had to take him somewhere to be seen. We first tried Blue Pearl and they were too busy to see him- they did triage him and determined it wasn’t an emergency so sent us home to wait for a call from them for the next available dr. Well, we couldn’t wait. So we called Heart and Soul and they were once again able to take our cat right away. I’m glad as the issue escalated while waiting far a call from the other emergency vet. Albus was seen and needed to be unblocked and he was home for a few hours before the other place even called to tell us it’s still ‘a few hours out’ till they could see us. We are grateful the Heart & Soul has been responsive, kind, and thorough in their care of our cat. He is recovering at home thankfully. Thank you for your great customer service and wonderful Vets and Staff. Highly recommend!!!

Experiencia fantástica: These folks saw our pup in a pinch yesterday with a nail split vertically and our regular vet was unable to get us in. Unfortunately, we've had to use urgent care several times the past few years but this was our first time using Heart and Soul. You just never know what you're going to get in these situations, but the whole team at Heart and Soul was fantastic. They were clear with instructions, empathetic, and the whole intake process was smooth. Yes, it still took up half the day (that's just how Urgent Care is), but their process allowed us to confidently leave and return without too much time wasted waiting in the parking lot. And the best part was that our pup's issue was resolved, she wasn't acting traumatized when we picked her up, and she's sufficiently on the mend. Big thanks to everyone at Heart and Soul! Highly recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: I had a great experience here after my newly adopted chihuahua Misty ate a poisonous plant. I called Heart and Soul and they could not have been kinder. It was near closing time, but they said the doctor would fit her in. I got lost on the way and called again in a bit of a panic, but the woman I talked to was very patient and helpful. Dropping her off was easy and the intake nurse was very gentle and made her feel comfortable. Dr. Henwood recommend some helpful treatments, the pricing was very upfront and reasonable, and he gave clear advice for me to follow over the next few days. Misty even got her nails trimmed I’m so grateful to Dr. Henwood and the staff at Heart and Soul. We’ll definitely be back if we have any more emergencies!
