Experiencia fantástica: I was referred to Parker Animal Care when reaching out to Austin Pets Alive for affordable care near me. I was able to schedule an appointment for same day when my dog had trouble sleeping due to his severe itching. They are even offering one free exam to new clients! Everyone was extremely kind and understanding of our situation, and gave Rocky many treats and love! They are partnered with Cherry which helps create 0% APR payment plans if needed, which is a huge help for me. Dr. Parker was extremely thorough and great at explaining his potential allergens and options for short term and long term care. We cant wait for our follow up!

From the phone call to make the appointment all the way to leaving the vet I felt that Hazel was graciously cared for not simply because it is their job, but because they themselves care about each and every animal that comes to see them. Dr. Parker took her time to explain everything to me in detail, didn’t try to run unnecessary tests, and answered every question I had. Her techs Ty and Jessica were just as caring, inquisitive, and informative. We will be back in the future and will recommend to everyone we know.

Experiencia negativa: As I write this my cat is crying with ataxia and in neurological hell and won't stop. This place is a joke. You told me Chlorumbucil has more side effects, but gave my 16 year old cat metronidazole when you knew his condition, I gave you all the records of his IBD but still prescribe a debunked drug that makes his condition worse. The waiting room is BS, the staff are overly happy but don't wanna be there, but more importantly the "vets" here clearly don't either. Overpriced prescriptions and dont give 2 shits abt your pets condition except making money and giving out pharma debunked drugs. MY CAT WAS FINE MANAGING HIS CONDITION I ONLY WANTED TO HELP HIM, NOW HE'S IN NEUROLOGICAL HELL BECAUSE OF YOUR NEGLIGENCE. I woulda done better on my own with AI, and you say you have a doctorate? Maybe time to shut this place down. Edit: he actively shut down and wanted to die after giving him this drug. He's gone and would have been ok if I simply left him with his condition he could manage. This drug made him suffer for his last week of life when he only wanted to know he would be ok. Can you really tell me you would have prescribed the dosage of that drug to a senior cat in his condition? He did NOT deserve to end his beautiful life that way. DO NOT PRESCRIBE METRINIDAZOL TO ELDERLY CATS WITH IBD. EVER.

It helps that he is devastating handsome and he is a sweetheart, but we always never feel that we are rushed. There is never any concern is not addressed. Tux had some serious issues when he was adopted, but Dr Parker helped us make all the important decisions rationally and with cool heads that were right for us and for this incredible animal. Heartworm, intestinal disorders, scraps in the park, all the things you don't want your puppy to get into, Dr. Parker and her amazing staff I would recommend Dr. Parker and her crew for loving care for their dog or cat.

We took our puppy in for a spay and the team helped us ease our minds about the whole process while taking care to answer all our questions. Experiencia fantástica: We have been taking our dogs to Dr. Parker for over a decade. We trust each of the doctors in her practice, along with her caring vet techs and administrative assistants. Communication is easy, cost is transparent. We even make the drive from north Austin to South Lamar because the care we get is so appreciated. There are many vets where you get whatever rotational doctor is there at the time—we value having a clinic where longtime staff know us and our pets.

Experiencia fantástica: I was seriously impressed, to be honest most doctors come in and in two seconds they're out, but she really took her time examining my Boxer dog. Dr Parker was very thorough with her examination and I am so coming back because of that one reason.

Experiencia negativa: We arrived for an 11 am appointment were told they were "running behind" — sure, no problem; we waited fifteen minutes. Upon walking back in we were then told it would be another thirty minutes to wait; no. Some leeway is okay but that isn't acceptable, and the fact we weren't told about the wait time when we first got in is unprofessional. Moreover consumers understand that if they are more than fifteen minutes late their appointment is canceled — yet it's somehow acceptable if the business doesn't hold up their end? This is happening more and more with various businesses and it's a trend that needs to stop, and only will if people stop accepting it. I will also note this is the first vet we've been to where the animals in the waiting room are not kept separated (separate rooms for dogs and cats, etc.). A woman's dog immediately jumped on my pregnant wife the second they entered the (incredibly small) waiting room. My cat was also frightened by the presence of the other animals (especially the dogs). I don't know what the other five-star reviews are going on about but I expect more from a business that asks for my time and money.

My dog Penny came in with a painful eye issue and the team was incredibly kind, thorough, and reassuring from start to finish. Callie, our tech, was so gentle, patient, and genuinely caring. You could tell she truly loves animals and treated Penny like she was her own. Dr. Carmo was equally fantastic: she took the time to explain everything clearly, made sure Penny was comfortable, and put us completely at ease with the treatment plan. Experiencia fantástica: First time client, had to bring my dogs in last minute on a Saturday because they were both sick. I heard about them through Wonder Dog Training & Games that they offer the first exam free! I was so happy they could squeeze me in last minute and took such good care of both of my girls. Tech and Dr were both very nice and efficient and it didn’t take long at all. Dogs are already starting to feel a little better with the meds they provided. They also had a cute Photo Booth set up for the dogs in the lobby, I think it changes seasonally. Would definitely recommend!!

Experiencia fantástica: I recently brought my cat Callicarpa to Parker Animal Care for an annual checkup, vaccine updates and a possible parasite problem. Calli becomes very distressed when put into a carrier and driven in a car. But once we were at the vet's, the kindness and professional handling my kitty received from tech Callie and Dr. Pocernich, DVM, really helped to calm her down during the visit. They were very informative, answered all my questions and gave Calli the medications and shots she needed. I very much appreciate the skilled care and attention that Parker Animal Care offers.

Experiencia negativa: I want to be clear that the reception staff was kind and professional. Unfortunately, my experience with the veterinary care itself was deeply disappointing. I felt consistently unheard and dismissed despite clearly communicating my concerns. I was presented with euthanasia paperwork prematurely, without a thorough diagnostic process to confirm cancer or metastatic disease. I raised concerns about a possible underlying infection early on, but those concerns were ignored. As a result, the issue worsened into a severe infection, which was later described as cancerous and spreading—again without definitive diagnostic confirmation. This experience left me shaken and without trust in the medical guidance being provided. I am withdrawing my cat from the care of this clinic.

Lyla used to hate going to the vet but has never had any issues going to this vet, in fact she gets excited to go now. They were also mindful of her reactivity towards other dogs and made sure the lobby was clear before we left. We also love the seasonal photo corner. 10/10

This process is quite involved and requires a high attention to detail and she made sure every single thing was in perfect order, all on a short timeline. The price was extremely reasonable! She also provided my dog an exam and some meds. When I had an urgent question I was able to talk with her even later in the evening and she really put my mind at ease. Traveling with a pet is stressful and it was great to know my dog was in good hands!

Experiencia fantástica: Extremely grateful this business exists in Austin. I visited Parker Animal Care yesterday for the first time because my dog was attacked and bitten by another dog. My primary vet was closed so they recommended going to PAC for after hours pet care and emergency services. As you can imagine, I was bit panicked from the attack and injuries my dog suffered. All of the staff members had the best bedside manner to alleviate my anxiety from the ordeal. Even as a new walk-in, they made a same day appointment for me to bypass the emergency visit fee and immediately treated me and my dog as if we were family. The two front desk ladies brought out the vet tech to check my dog didn’t need emergency care and that he was ok. After that, we met with Dr. Parker for her to evaluate my dog’s injuries. She did found he had some bite marked, bruising and abrasions but advised he wouldn’t need antibiotics. She strategically shaved his fur so there wouldnt be an empty patch of fur but could check his wounds for healing. Then tells me that there wasn’t a charge for the visit as they don’t charge for clients for first time visits. I swear the service kept getting better and better and their warm touch to everything dissolved all the stress I had before going in. The level of detail this practice applies is reassuring that they care for your pet! After leaving, Dr. Parker called me to confirm that I wasn’t double dosing my dog with flea and tick meds. Turns out I mistakenly told the vet tech I gave my dog nexgard (flea and tick) and simparica (flea and tick) for heartworm and flea and tick, but I meant simparica and iverhart. Love that she caught that and was looking out for us. The whole staff treated my dog with so much attention and love, it made us feel so special! We will definitely be back. Thank you so much!

I'm now bringing my two new girls in and couldn't be happier with the care we've received. A solid, reasonable and kind option for your pet care. Experiencia fantástica: My 3 years of owning a dog I have been to many different veterinary offices because of traveling and I have never come across this kind of genuine love and care for animals. While it is easy to see nationally how this field is for profit for many, but at Parkers Animal Care its quite obvious from the first visit that everyone present at the establishment actually cares about your money and your dogs health. Dr Carmo and Callie have been incredible to Yogi. Dr. Camo has so much information about all of her issues that I mentioned that she saved me 1000s of dollars that I would have spent at the dermatologist to cure Yogis yeast infection. It's truly a blessing from the universe that I found this clinic.

We were actually referred to this vet from my original vet when we could not get seen asap for an urgent medical situation. That right there tells me they are skilled at what they do! I love how easy it is to get an appointment, and their availability, but most importantly, their skill when it comes to our furry friends! They are incredibly knowledgeable, and it shows with their ability to explain complex situations in non-medical terms. All of their staff is super accommodating and welcoming. I really love how every month they have a little themed photoshoot area! I also really appreciate the snacks and beverages. It makes what can be a not so pleasant reason for coming in a much more tolerable one. Thank you to the staff for always helping out and keeping healthy the smallest member of our family!

Dr. Lisa Pocernich was amazing — she explained everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made sure Zoey was completely ready for international travel. The front staff was also wonderful. Sergio’s energy and friendliness made us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in! Everyone at the clinic was organized, professional, and truly cared about making the experience smooth. They even offer a military discount, which was a great bonus. I highly recommend Parker Animal Care to anyone — especially if you’re preparing for an international move with your pet!
