Experiencia fantástica: The entire staff here was so accommodating when my dog needed to be seen last minute on the weekend and our regular vet was closed. They got us in within an hour of me calling and were so gentle and thorough while treating my dog. I really appreciate them and if we lived closer we would definitely see them regularly. Experiencia positiva: Incredibly friendly & caring staff at this modern veterinary clinic in Austin. Took my two French bulldogs to get an initial check up at this clinic last month. The staff was kind and attentive. They explained in detail what I needed to hear about and listened to my concerns. Although I didn’t get any photos of our trip there, the facility is modern, clean and bright. I definitely felt like my fur babies were in safe hands.

Experiencia fantástica: Initially had a not great experience here but recently had to take my cat in for a urinary blockage and the staff was so incredibly kind and patient. Dr. Thornley was so helpful and supportive during the whole process and I could tell she genuinely cared. We had to hospitalize him overnight and the night nurse sky was so good with him.

The staff is incredibly kind and genuinely cares about your pet’s well-being rather than focusing on profit. When I arrived, I was able to speak directly with the veterinarian, and together we created a plan to get my dog back to good health. The cost was very reasonable, too.

Experiencia fantástica: My dog Teddy recently had to be put down. The news was very unexpected and hard for my family. The Drs and assistants were so compassionate and gave us all the time and privacy to say our goodbyes. When I got home after the hardest days of my life I received flowers from Honnas although this was not our primary veterinary and we were just in town visiting. Thank you for your compassion and for making Teddys last day comforting for not only him but for us.

My pup has arthritis and luxating patellas so it has been amazing to work with Dr. Thornley, who always provides multiple options for long-term care for my pup that incorporate different therapies and provides the pros and cons of each. She has provided very detailed information in person and via email outside of visits when needed - truly amazing for any other pet parents who want to parse through everything before deciding on the right plan - and I have felt like I had agency in all of our conversations. At other places I've felt like I was being sold something rather than just providing different options for care and have not had that here at all. Excited to continue care here!

Experiencia positiva: I did not have a great experience here. The front desk staff and people answering the phone have been clueless, not knowing how to get me a spay estimate, not knowing who certain staff members were. While the other staff was friendly, it seems very disorganized there. Every time I called trying to get what I needed I got a different person and a different story. The most frustrating part is we brought our foster dog in for a Health Certificate and were charged an extra 9.50 for biohazard disposal fee despite the fact that there was no biohazard involved in this visit at all. When I called back and talked with Nic, the office manager she told me it was required to charge a biohazard fee for all physical exams (I could not find any verification of this on the veterinary board website or State of Texas website). I also told her about my frustrations with Honnas over the past week and she basically responded, ok. Not what I would have expected from a practice manager. I like supporting a women owned business which is why I chose Honnas but will not return mainly because the hassle factor for a not straightforward appt is just way too high and I spent way too much time trying to get everything sorted out.

Experiencia fantástica: I’m a new pet parent and I checked out the reviews before coming to this pet vet and I love the way they have their place setup and how will they treated me and my baby King.. king is a 9 weeks old toy, Yorkie puppy who I had recently bought from a breeder and he wasn’t eating or drinking and this vet has helped me with caring for king and finding the root of the problem.. although we are still working on the solution I would recommend this place to any pet parent..

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent environment tailored for cats, low lighting, calming scents, soft low surfaces. All staff who came into the room performed the exam where my cat was. One of my cats had needed a sedative prior to visiting our last vet; no sedative needed at Honnas. Honnas also helped get one of the prescriptions for the cats filled after I moved away.

Experiencia fantástica: Omg, what a great find. I’m from out of town and had to get my dog checked given blood in stool. They took me in that day, and checked my dog, provided medicine and assured me it probably wasn’t serious. The office is super clean and the staff just amazing! I wish my vet was 1/2 as great as this office. Thank you so much!

Experiencia fantástica: I've had a lot of problems with vets and my Maine coone cat. Add just about given up faith in all of them. But I was so happy after our visit yesterday with the way they treated Angel and us that my faith has been restored. The doctor was gentle and kind and I'm happy to say that we will be going back there for all of his needs. Thank you Honnas for being just what we needed. We are grateful.

Experiencia fantástica: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (10/10) I took my 3 babies—Bleu, Lilly & Beaux—all over 100 lbs each, and Honnas Vet made it the easiest, most welcoming visit ever. The entire staff was SO sweet and full of adoration for my pups. They were patient, gentle, and genuinely caring, which made such a difference with big dogs like mine. What I loved most is how cost-effective they are without being pushy about unnecessary services. Dr. Honnas and team made us feel completely at ease, and I honestly can’t imagine taking my fur family anywhere else. Highly, highly recommend!

Experiencia positiva: Greeting was nice and friendly, booking the appointment was super easy. Wait times during appointment are kind of long. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The space is cute and clean. However, they didn't ask many questions or decide on a plan of care for the main concern we presented ..The biggest thing they seemed worried about was getting my pets vaccines records and getting them up to date. Nothing was explained as far as what they would recommend or check for.. we were hoping for suggestions or an opinion of best care but it was basically just re- prescribing what we told them our last vet did. If I didnt have another vet treat for my pets allergies I wouldnt have known what to expect treatment or cost wise but I am glad I did so I had a reference to compare. (Knowledge and price) They do provide an estimate sheet before proceeding so it is transparent pricing as they allow you to choose what services you want to do /buy ...but the prices are almost 3x of any other vets in the area. We did get one prescription filled just because we were already there and needed it but after seeing $70 for a $20 prescription and $50+ increase on every other item I was shocked at the pricing and will be returning to a reasonable vet. It is convenient to go for a last minute appointment as they regularly seem to have openings same day or next day! Again, emphasizing the staff was nice! They may be a little fresh and not yet established at providing direct care but they are helpful and answer questions as requested.

Experiencia positiva: I took my cat here because he was pretty sick on a Sunday, and Honnas was one of the few vets that was open that day. Everyone was extremely kind and the private rooms were decorated very nicely to make you feel comfortable. I ended up having some services done here and found out he had an obstruction and would need surgery. Those services were already pricy and the surgery estimate I got was exorbitant. I ended up taking my cat somewhere else for his surgery to for a more way more reasonable price and he is doing well now! Again, very kind people, but compared to other vets I’ve found out about now, definitely on the high end price-wise.

Experiencia fantástica: We had an issue with our new kittien glue from being fixed coming undone. We took her here on a Saturday. Not knowing what to expect. They were friendly, straight up about cost. They will now be our vet for all the kitties. I highly recommend them. The pricing is good, no add ons. For a Saturday I am so thankful. They are open 7 days a week and so kind. We got quotes more then triple what this cost closer to where we live. There was no crazy waiting, so quick as well. Which that is amazing as well.

You are allowed to sit in room with your pet while Dr. & Staff come in & perform most of the procedures in front of you.I was able to take my cat Charlie out of the carrier & let him sit with me. Experiencia fantástica: My four-year old cat stopped eating a few weeks ago—just out of the blue. To make matters worse, I had back surgery two weeks prior, and was unable to lift my cat in a carrier. I had received a mailer from Honnas Veterinary a while back and decided to call them. I spoke to a very nice person named Charley on the phone. She was terrific. I don’t live too far away, so the practice manager, Nick, came and got my cat and brought her to the office. They did blood tests and x-rays. All checked out OK. They gave me some appetite stimulates to give her and Nick drove her back to my apartment. This was on a Sunday. I was unable to give my cat the appetite stimulates. She was having none of it. So LeBron and Zach came over and finally got some of the medicine into her. That really helped for a day or so. But her appetite still was lacking. Then they gave me a transdermal ointment to put on her ear. That did the trick. She’s now been fine for two weeks. The staff at Honnas went far out of their way to accommodate both me with my bad back and my very difficult cat. All had incredible patience and kindness. Always picked up the phone. Always gave answers to my concerns. Plus Nick texted me every night for a week to see how my cat was getting along. Outstanding service! I’ve been taking my various cats and dogs to vets in Austin for years. Honnas is by far the best I have ever experienced. They are a bit pricey and usually busy, but they certainly made time for me. As an added bonus, they have a payment system called Cherry, which financed my bill over 9 months with no interest and reasonable payments. Honnas is now my go-to vet and I recommend them highly.

Experiencia negativa: Figured these reviews were too good. The staff seemed friendly, but if you’re coming here expect a long wait. I did go on the weekend, and maybe they only have one actual veterinarian on staff for the weekends but they had a lot of staff. You could tell the people that were there had been waiting a while. The lady before had been there 45 minutes before she complained and then they finally saw her. I waited 45 minutes and someone did come talk to me and check in with me but I don’t know how much longer it would have been. I had things to do, so I left. In this city we don’t have time to be waiting an hour+ to be seen. And if you’re gonna have people waiting like that then put a tv or something in each of the rooms so we don’t know how much has gone by. Not sure if it’s better during the week, but I feel they didn’t keep their appointment time.

I was referred here on a Saturday for my dog to have emergency surgery, and from the moment we arrived, the experience was incredible. Everyone was kind, compassionate, and reassuring—it truly felt like my dog was a regular patient, even though it was our first visit. Although we don’t live in Austin, we’ve decided this will be our go-to vet from now on. When I feared the worst and thought I might lose my dog, they stayed calm, supportive, and confident. I never felt pressured to make financial decisions I couldn’t afford. Instead, I was given clear, straightforward medical plans and options that made me feel empowered, not overwhelmed. Scheduling is easy, availability is great, and their messaging system is top-notch—they actually encourage communication and are responsive to any questions or concerns. The facilities are spotless, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. And Dr. Honnas herself? You can just tell when someone is a genuinely amazing human being. She completely won me over when she got down on the floor, petting my dog, and told her, “See you next time, girl. Love you.” That moment will stay with me. If you’re considering this place—don’t think twice. Just go. You and your pet will be in the best hands.

Experiencia fantástica: Since animals only get suddenly and mysteriously ill or do truly dumb crap on weekends, I've unfortunately had to visit a couple of emergency vets in South Austin. I've never had a great or terrible experience so I assumed they were basically all the same. This time my tiny, sweet little idiot ate an entire latex glove on a Sunday and I called the first emergency vet listed when on a Google search. What a great find! Everything about the experience was above and beyond my expectations, from the kindness and professionalism of the staff, to the cleanliness of the facilities, and from how quickly we were treated to the cost of the treatment. You guys officially have my loyalty - hoping I'll never see you again, but I'll call you first on purpose next time if I ever do. Thank you!!

Experiencia fantástica: I recently started fostering a senior dog who ended up quite sick with a skin infection, kennel cough, and pneumonia. Honnas got us in last minute a week ago and have been amazing! The techs and vets are kind and very thoughtful with their plans, taking the time to explain everything. We have seen them 3 times and they even call to check in in-between visits. They are mindful that her bills are being paid for by a rescue and prioritize high value care. Our pup is still on the road to recovery but we feel she is getting the best care and will continue to see them for all her needs!

I had an issue with my insurance not covering my dog’s procedure and the staff immediately jumped in and actually re-itemized my receipt so my insurance would agree to reimburse me. My boyfriend and I adopted a puppy from the San Marcos shelter, and upon the first day of bringing him home, realized he was incredibly sick. 2 emergency room visits and bringing him to multiple vet clinics later, we walked through the doors at Honnas with our puppy in tow begging for some answers and for someone to take his condition seriously. The vets at Honnas jumped into action, immediately clocking that this dog was in incredibly critical condition. They performed multiple surgeries, provided overnight care, monitored his eating and drinking through feeding tubes, and did absolutely everything they could for our baby. A week of treatment later, we made the difficult decision to put our puppy down as his body was giving up on him and he was in severe pain. The vets that had taken care of him cried with us and said goodbye as we let him go. The love and care mixed with the level of professionalism we received at Honnas during such a stressful time was phenomenal. We miss our puppy and wish we had been able to spend more time with him, but we know his last week was spent receiving all the hugs, pets, treats, and love from the vets at Honnas. They would even take him out to sunbathe between his treatments and recovery. My boyfriend and I have 2 cats and our senior dog who we switched over to Honnas immediately. Their stellar care has stayed consistent, and we couldn’t be in better hands. I recommend this place to all of my friends with pets, and can’t imagine ever switching vets again.

Experiencia fantástica: Called short notice for my dog was peeing and pooping blood on a Sunday. They were able to squeeze me in, which was awesome. Lauren was super helpful and sweet with my dog the whole time. Doctor came in he answered all my questions got me squared away and pup on the mend. They also shared the records with my normal veterinary clinic.

My cat Tommy was very calm and cooperative. Separate room for each patient is so important. Your pet feels more safe, doctors are super gentle and friendly. No stress for me and my cat. Experiencia fantástica: Dare I say that was the best vet experience I’ve ever had? I got in same day, no long wait time at 7pm on Sunday. Literally unheard of. My friend Jaycee recommended I try Honnas and thank goodness I did! I hope they always stay as welcoming and warm as what I just experienced. No insane bill, the most relaxed environment, it actually SMELLED GREAT inside, didn’t feel sterile AT ALL. Dr. Honnas was approachable and didn’t throw a bunch of vet jargon at me. I adopt these fragile little frenchies from rescues and they come with all sorts of issues. She was clear and the exam was thorough. I had Erica as our vet tech and she was gentle, kind and soft spoken. No frills and sterile tables. There wasn’t even a computer in the room, they used notepads for everything! Absolutely will be recommending Honnas to everyone I know, I hope they don’t get so busy that they lose this special edge they have right now!

Experiencia fantástica: Great service with kind and attentive staff. Our golden pup had a poor skin reaction to the rattlesnake vaccine. They were able to clean his skin up well and gave him antibiotics. We were in and out in about 30 minutes.

Experiencia fantástica: This place deserves the 5-star rating. First off, when you enter it is very welcoming. The layout is very modern and it doesn't feel like a hectic atmosphere for your animal which I love. Secondly, the staff is extremely inviting. You can tell that they love what they do and really care about the animals. Thirdly, they go the extra mile to ensure care. In my case, it was my vet tech, Craig. Craig was so nice and was extremely careful with my dog Odin who has a bad case of glaucoma. Craig went the extra mile to track down the medications that Odin needs and even went to pick these up on his day off... wow. I wouldn't expect that kind of dedication from anyone much less a place I have only been to once. This is amazing! Thank you so much Craig and Dr. Honnah for taking such good care of us. We will be back!

Experiencia fantástica: *Update: I normally and very rarely do a review, much less come back to update (as life and schedules are so busy for me) but Dr. Honnas and her ENTIRE team that helped deserve the 5 star reviews they get! They deserve it and more! We dropped off our baby for surgery and all went so well with her! I can’t thank them enough! She’s healing well and thankfully eating/drinking already and coming back to her normal little self after being under anesthesia. It’s always so scary putting an older dog to sleep but Dr. Honnas and her team made sure she was healthy and good to go for surgery and were very transparent on everything that came up of concern (if any). Craig was so gentle and you can just tell how much they all care/love pets! As they did with my dog (and others i observed) they sit on the floor with them and meet them at their comfort level to connect with them to keep them calm. Just so many good things that really set the bar for us truly. Sadly I live almost 7hrs away but happy to know Austins pets are in good hands there! We are not from the area, we were just visiting for vacation and on a Saturday my 13 year old Yorkie babe had to be brought in for an emergency procedure. I will say the moment we walk in to any other vet, even their home vet, my dogs immediately begin to shake and already have bad anxiety when it comes to dr visits. This instance they were very calm and remained like that until we had to leave. Dr. Honnas was so kind and knowledgeable on what steps to begin on to help my girl. Everyone was kind, Tiffany was who we initially spoke with and she immediately helped us and let us know we can come in as soon as possible. Truly so thankful we found this veterinarian and it was successful. As the time was late unfortunately when we came in and it wasn’t as emergent as we thought, we will have to do the procedure tomorrow (which thankfully they are willing to do a procedure on a Sunday!) but will give an update on how everything comes out. Thank you again to all the staff that helped and were so understanding to our financial situation.

Experiencia fantástica: This place is what you wish most vets would be like. Truly caring, flexible, and understanding, they get how to care for the animals that are family to you. I had an emergency with my dog passing blood out of both ends with no idea why...from first call, to the care, and all the way through follow-up, they've been amazing. In particular, Craig, who literally stuck by our side from the very first call, helping us get preliminary care from animal poison control, to helping us figure out the right care for our financial situation, to even following up on his day off, I've been super impressed with Honnas. The biggest thing outside of the people that stood out to me was the transparency in pricing and, very non-judgementally, finding the right care plan for your budget and even going above and beyond to help in any way they can with finances. This place is amazing!! It's so refreshing to find a vet clinic that truly cares about you and your pets!

However, they helped me wrap him up like a cute little kitty burrito in order to get a urine sample. So, far I’ve been super pleased with Honnas. I 10000% recommend if you need to take your animal in after 5pm. This place really works around your schedule.

They have great hours I was so happy to know they close at 10pm most vets don’t stay open this late. The Doctor was super helpful and sweet with my German shepherd. The visit was fast and no wait when I walked in (didn’t have an appointment either). The space is so cute and clean. Almost thought I was going to the doctor. They are also VERY affordable, cheapest visit I’ve ever had for my doggy.

Once in the doors, we were met with a professional and warm staff as well as a calming and clean screening room. Our kitty Humphrey's consult and care was carried out both expeditiously and with courtesy to his nervous nature in new places. The final bill was VERY competitive and easily broken down. There is no pretense or hidden costs to be expected. This is very much an operation conducted by people who truly care about the welfare of the animals coming in, and it's showcased in every aspect of the business. They'll be our primary care clinic for any future needs.

My pup is super anxious as it is but I felt she was way more comfortable than she normally would at the vet. The vet techs and the Dr were all amazing and patient!
