Experiencia negativa: This vet clinic should be avoided! Took a sick dog there 4 days ago and they looked him over and could not explain what was wrong. They “prescribed” the equivalent of Tums for an upset stomach and diarrhea. They took blood and provided results with very little explanation in and email. They also provided a urine test results for a sample they did not take(??). I had requested to speak with the vet to discuss the results and was promised that would happen however it has been 4 days and nothing! I contacted them with an email and still nothing! I still have a sick dog! These people don’t seem to care about the animals they treat. They will promise anything to get you out of the office and collect the money. I still have a sick dog. I doubt that this rating that should be ZERO will even get their attention but perhaps anyone else that sees this will have second thoughts about using this vet!

I have a rescue, so I bring in lots of animals with lots of varying issues. It has been my experience that other vets get annoyed with this (when I have to go somewhere closer to me), but here... they always treat you like family! Every single pet gets the best of the best from everyone. Brody, the office manager and John the head technician are amazing; always working so hard and always SO happy, kind and genuine! And, is it just me, or is this hospital full of lookers? That's always a bonus :) Love having Kenzie up front, she is a ray of sunshine that makes the entire lobby shine brighter. Can't say enough about the techs, either, but surely the readers have left by this point... Don't ever change AMCOP!

Experiencia fantástica: We have been clients of Animal Medical Center for years. Our visits have always been excellent with our pets receiving outstanding care at a reasonable price. All of the vets, assistants and office personnel are great!

Experiencia fantástica: I brought kitty here with a suspected bad tooth. She's 7 years old and has never been to the dentist, so my suspicions were confirmed. My first visit was free :). The vets here took kitty for blood/fecal tests ($189), then I took her in for dentistry a few weeks later. Poor kitty needed 7 teeth removed! It ended up being $1611.27 including anesthesia/pain meds and now kitty feels great!! And the vets were considerate enough to return her to me with her nails trimmed, which I assume they did when she was sleeping. A very nice touch. If she didn't need tooth removal, cleaning would've been just $132 and anesthesia another $213, which makes this place a very affordable option for routine dentistry.

We are always treated with respect as the "parents" of our animals and our concerns are never trivialized. The front reception/waiting room area and exam rooms are kept very clean.

Experiencia negativa: I will not be returning here. I am still shocked at what happened during my visit. As a nurse, I would never administer any vaccine without getting consent like they did. And the fact that there was no communication while I was in the room about what they were going to give is crazy. I didn’t even know what they gave without my permission until it was too late. They either did it outside the room or when I was trying to find all the videos of my dogs showing concerning behavior since the veterinarian requested to see them. If I would have known, I would have stopped them. How do you give something when there was no communication with the pet parent about it? I did not request this and made it clear multiple times why I was there with my dogs. Please going forward make sure all of your staff are trained to ask these questions and the veterinarian should also verify with the pet parent even if they were told something by the tech, etc…. never assume you should give it because it’s “part of the routine.” You should always communicate what you are giving regardless. There was ZERO communication about getting vaccines. Not from the time I scheduled the appointment all the way through the whole interaction with the tech or veterinarian. I specifically said no vaccines this visit when I scheduled my appointment because my dogs are both having some concerning symptoms that I wanted to get checked out. Their reason when I questioned them after I found out that they were given the vaccines without my knowledge was “they were just going through the motions.” That is not an acceptable excuse and doesn't justify anything. Everyone here needs to be more careful. Just because it’s typically what you do during a visit doesn’t mean it should apply to every pet that comes in. Not every pet is there to get vaccines. I have never once had this happen during a visit. I specifically brought my two dogs in to get a heartworm test, nails trimmed, and for them to do an exam since one of my dogs lymph node has been growing since the time I started monitoring it a few months ago. I made sure that was clear when I made my appointment and it’s even on the paperwork. I communicated that to the tech as well. They even tried to give me falsified records, but thankfully I caught it before I left and requested it be corrected. Please be cautious if you take your pet here. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else!

Experiencia fantástica: Our dog Zeus has been seen here for 4 years. We were referred here by a retiring vet in another city. It’s a 25-mile trip for us, but worth every bit of it. They are the best. Dr. Larsen saw Zeus this time for two cracked teeth and was so gentle and kind. We love this team!

Experiencia negativa: Absolutely will not be returning. I was 10 minutes late to my appointment due to a highway pile-up and was turned away upon arrival—even though I was only there for a simple allergy medication refill. I explained that my dog is up to date on all vaccines and I wasn’t seeking a full exam, but they still refused to provide the medication without charging for a full visit. The lack of flexibility and understanding, especially in an urgent but minor situation, was disappointing and unnecessary.

Abigail passed away recently, with Dr. Sharp by her side. There is longevity here, and consistency and just solidly kind people, which has always brought Abigail and I peace of mind. She loved it here, as did I. If we are ever blessed with an animal again- we will be back. No question.

Dr. Carroll took so much time and care into figuring out what was going on with my baby. We easily spent an hour talking about symptoms, behaviors, food, everything that could be going on. She suggested a GI panel and I'm so glad she did because we found a not-so-common enzyme issue in my cat's pancreas. I was expecting end-of-life conversations when I first brought my cat here but they essentially brought her back to life instead! Now my girl has gained all her weight and has her spark back. So grateful for this Medical Center and even though I've moved away, I will be making the drive. Finding a vet who cares for your animals as much as you would is tough and the team here is absolutely up to the challenge. Thanks AMCP!

Its really on me for not asking price to get my 20lb Corgi Spayed before hand but with blood work it cost close to $1000. For reference at my old vet I got my Rottweiler/Aussie fixed and hernia surgery for around $300. I just dont think I can recommend this place because of price alone

Dr. Cook has taken care of our Truman for so many years and always has so much compassion, care, and warmth for our Truman (and us!). Truman recently passed away after a wonderfully full life and Dr. Cook was right there with me to assure me I was making the right decision. I had been in several times over the last year with concerns for Truman and Dr. Cook guided me through my questions with patience and understanding, and ensured Truman was getting the proper care at every visit. She even called during the winter holidays to check in on Truman and see how he was doing - I was so grateful! Here at the end, Dr. Cook was truly THE BEST vet I have ever had for my animals. She had so much compassion for Truman and what he needed, but she also was there for me. It was so touching and made a heartbreaking moment more bearable. She allowed me the time I needed, sat with me on the floor while I was petting Truman and saying goodbye, explained exactly what would happen in this process, and then even came out to the parking lot to hug me and comfort me afterwards. I have never met a more caring and compassionate professional in my life. Thank you, Dr. Cook! And the staff are beyond incredible, as well. The vet techs who assisted us and Truman on this last day had so much dignity for Truman. Truman was never alone in the last moments. Without much more detail here, I just have to express that because of their compassion and care what was a terrible time for us was made that much more bearable. Experiencia fantástica: Been with Amcp for the last 5 or so years and after losing our previous pup we are continuing care with our new one. Dr. Brewer is an amazing vet and has shown great care and compassion for both my dogs. He will even go out of his way to return a phone call or text to me after hours to make sure my questions are answered. After unexpectedly losing our boy, the whole staff reminds me just how much he is remembered and loved there by everyone. The staff as a whole is nothing short of outstanding and have felt nothing but upmost trust leaving my dog with them. Are they the cheapest? No not at all, but I know my animals are getting the best care and compassion when they come here.

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE! My elderly 18 year old cat, Snowy, had a cyst on her neck for about 3 years. It got bigger over time. I did some research and it seemed to be a sebaceous cyst. I tried to lance it and did not succeed. I immediately made an appointment here. We took Snowy the next day and Dr. Amy Larsen did an exam on her. She looked at what they pulled out of the cyst under a microscope and within about 10 minutes came back and diagnosed my cat with cancer. She said for more money they could send it to pathology to confirm so I complied. After getting the results, She doubled down on the cancer diagnosis. She told me Snowy needed surgery and would recommend me to a surgeon for a $5,000-$6,000 surgery to remove the cyst. She then pushed for me to give my 18 year old cat CHEMOTHERAPY!!! YES! YOU READ THAT RIGHT! WELL, after about 3 months of letting the cyst drain and heal THE CYST IS GONE!! It was a sebaceous cyst and it just needed to be drained which Dr. Larsen refused to do. My now 19 year old best friend and fur baby is just as healthy as she ever was. She plays, eats, runs, eats like a horse, and stays by my side every moment of the day and night. Dr. Larsen would have killed my baby. She pushed hard for CHEMOTHERAPY in several emails I still have. I have thought long and hard about this review and I realized if I could stop even one animal from a horrible ridiculous diagnosis and possibly death then it's worth it. ABSOLUTELY NEVER TAKE YOUR ANIMAL TO THIS FACILTY AND UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE EVER LET DR. AMY LARSEN NEAR YOUR FUR BABY. She wanted my 18 year old cat to have an unnecessary surgery for the price of an arm and leg (probably gets kick backs) and she tried to convince me to give her CHEMOTHERAPY which would have most certainly killed her. It was a simple sebaceous cyst which just needed to be drained. Incompetence at its finest! DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE! PERIOD!

They-including the office staff-have seen us through happy & sad times with all of them (one cat & 4 dogs) over the years. We trust in their expertise and have never been disappointed. Our most recent fur baby, a 4 year old Bordoodle mix, sees Dr. Carroll. They share a special relationship with lots of affection on both sides. They’re the best of the best in our book!

For over two years my Cairn Terrier has been going for his annual check ups, routine immunizations, and teeth cleaning (love that they offer this here for a reasonable price). I appreciate that I’m able to make appointments online and that they send reminder emails about what my dog needs per his health records. A few times we’ve had to take our dog in for random unexpected things and they’ve always able to fit us in and give great care. They even reach out to check up on him. From the front desk staff to the vets, everyone here truly loves animals and gives them the best care possible. I highly recommend Animal Medical Center of Plano — and my dog does too!

The staff has always taken great care of her...even when she growls at them for sticking her in the butt. I'm moving next month, and may not be able to make the drive to bring her here, anymore. I loved the fact that she brought up cost and options, making sure we understood everything. They can do limited testing onsite, which was perfect for us. Our cat had a UTI, got an antibiotic shot and is doing well. Happy that I didn’t have to pill him every day!

The individual that assisted me on my last purchase for meds was cold and unfriendly, never smiled as I tried to be friendly. We still love our doctor though, which is the only thing keeping us there.

Experiencia negativa: The vet and vet assistant were very nice and I was happy with the service however they charged insane prices and didn’t explain until I had no option and was paying at the end. $400+ what I have paid in the past for a regular check up/vaccines. I left the clinic frustrated with the prices and to top it off my dog had an allergic reaction to one of the vaccines that has never happened before. Her eye swole up and she got extremely itchy. The clinic was no help because they closed for the day immediately after I left Saturday at 2:00. I unfortunately will not be back.

Today, I had a great experience thanks to Brody's and Dr. Brewer's care and concern for my anxious pup. They treated my dog with the respect that he deserves, and they were both very professional. I'll be scheduling my pup's future appointments around Brody's and Dr. Brewer's availability.

Experiencia fantástica: This is an extremely professional vet clinic. They do their best to keep your pet healthy. They are knowledgeable in their field. They have excellent diagnostic capabilities which help them to make proper diagnoses. They also know where to refer you for much more extremely complicated issues. Dr. Carroll has extensive knowledge and experience with cats. Your budget might suffer as exceptional care is expensive, but your pet will not.

She had a great experience at her vet in Nashville and has never been afraid to go to Animal Medical Center of Plano thanks to Dr. Carroll, who we most recently saw, & Dr. Cook. Both show great interest in not only my dog’s health but her emotional well-being (as well as mine!) They treat my pets w very holistic approach. Dr Carroll recently spent hours researching the culprit of Tilley Bell’s “hot spot” because it was not healing. I can’t imagine taking my pets to any other vet in the Dallas area - Highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: I've been a client of AMCP for over a year now and I absolute love the care and attention they give to my babies. This past visit I saw Dr. Carroll, for the first time, and I have nothing but amazing things to say about her! When my dog was afraid of the table and trying to squeeze behind me on the padded bench (he's 68lbs) she got down on the floor to make him more comfortable. 10/10 would recommend going here and will definitely be back!!!

When the hard times come & tough decisions must be made, I can’t imagine a more kind & compassionate place to be. They are just as good with pet parents as they are with pets.

Experiencia positiva: We've seen Dr. Carroll and Dr. Brewer and they are AMAZING and truly love animals. My last few appointments had wait times between 1/2 an hour to an hour wait. The veteranarians are worth the wait but the lack of communication at check in leaves the paying humans a little disgruntled. A quick text or phone call to let you know they are running behind would be ideal, but would appreciate a heads up when checking in for the appointment that there is a short wait. Brody, the office manager, is courteous and understanding.

They take such wonderful care of our little babies. The staff is friendly and attentive and wait times are minimal. Dr. Cook is a wonderful doctor who takes the time to answer all of our questions and explain the kittens’ development and changing life stages. I highly recommend! UPDATE: We’ve now been coming to this facility for two years, and I cannot sing their praises enough. The entire staff is so kind and compassionate. The doctors are so incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely care for the wellbeing of your babies. We will be lifelong patients and could not ask for better veterinary care!

Experiencia fantástica: My Giant Schnauzer puppy was born at the vet’s. I sat in a kennel with his mom most of a Saturday. With the help of the vet, his mom delivered 10 little black pups. Hank, now almost 12, had been kept healthy and happy with the expertise of Dr Sharp and Dr Cook. A tumor was spotted early enough by Dr Sharp to remove and save him from further treatment. The techs are great and always know Hank. Now, Hanks cat ( yes, I got him a kitten), is receiving her care there too. Dr Cook must use cement in her stitches because Kate (the cat) didn’t follow ANY post-spaying warnings. Her ‘flying-squirrel’ leaps onto Hank went on as usual . . .

Experiencia fantástica: I needed a bordatella booster for my dog so she could get boarded while we went on vacation. The office closes at 6pm and I got there at 5:57pm. I felt bad for arriving so late but the staff took my dog back immediately, gave her the booster, and even trimmed her nails. Any other vet would NOT have done this let alone had such a good attitude about it!! This is why we continue to see Dr Brewer and his staff. Excellent people!!
