Experiencia fantástica: I have been going to Bijou for almost 15 years. They always provide the best care at reasonable cost. If they can find an out of the box solution, they do it! Their doctors are all skilled and invested in doing what’s right for pets. The staff is great, friendly, professional and caring.

Experiencia fantástica: This clinic and staff from docs to front desk an everyone in between have been amazing with both our pups! Currently one of our dogs is in their care from unexpected health issues that progressed pretty quickly. The docs and nurses went straight into action from the moment we walked in and have been so kind and have been doing everything they can throughout this whole journey. The communication has been so appreciated every step of the way! I can not say enough amazing things about Bijou!

Experiencia fantástica: Doctors and staff are always kind to my dog and myself.My dog doesn't like vets but likes Bijou way more out of the few vets she has seen over the years. Bijou will also work you in if there is an emergency which is a plus. The experience is good and I would recommend. My dog said the experience wasn't good because they had to stick a needle in her but she is happy now because she is feeling better and changed her mind and is happy with the service now lol

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been bringing my dogs here over 3 years now and we’re not the easiest to deal with. Both of my dogs are very anxious and everyone here from the front desk to the doctors do their best to make my dogs’ visits as stress free as possible. When I’ve had emergencies they’ve handled my concerns efficiently and with care.

Experiencia negativa: Don't waste your time. You can't even call to make an appointment. I was on hold for over 15 minutes and then once I'm on the phone with someone named Ana I'm told I have to get off the phone, get on the internet, fill out a form, wait for them to receive an email, then they review it, then they call me, then let's hope I'm available to take the call, then they'll make the appointment. In the time it took her to explain it she could've booked several appointments. When I asked her to verify there was no way to get on the schedule over the phone, she said "Well I CAN but I'm not going to because I'm too busy with other clients." Not a good look to people looking to become new clients and give them business.

Experiencia negativa: I also ADDED My response to Missy's Comment at the end of this review because she is trying so hard to sound innocent. A lot of people complain about Missy and her BAD Attitude! She also knew she was wrong because she responded to this post so quickly! Like if she was waiting for this review. They all need to take a Customer Service course! Main Review Post: I have been a client at Bijou Animal Hospital for nine years. However, during a phone conversation today (11/07/2025), I experienced behavior from the staffs that I found to be both disrespectful and unprofessional. In particular, I was disappointed with Missy, who is listed as the Manager on the hospital’s website but identified herself as HR during our call. If she does serve in an HR capacity, her conduct is damaging to the reputation of the practice. What upset me most was her comment that I was “going through something,” and she also laughed during this conversation. I found this response completely inappropriate and unprofessional, especially given the seriousness of the situation. My life is Great! I’m just not going to take disrespectful from unprofessional individuals. On a positive note, Dr. Mary Severson has consistently provided excellent care to my service dog throughout these nine years and has always been friendly and professional. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be returning to Bijou Animal Hospital. Low cost does not always equate to quality service. Updated response: The reason why I looked up Missy on the Bijou animal hospital web page because I wanted the HR department number, and she lied and said she was the HR department. She’s just a manager! I need to speak to someone who is more professional. Why have all the doctors and staffs on there then? You guys are just trying to sound innocent for this review because she was wrong and unprofessional! I see a lot of people complain about Missy! Then you had the nerve to say “I’m going through something” and you even laughed! You thought this situation was funny. That’s why I started raising my voice! Yes I did say I will tell NEWS and REVIEWS Because I don’t want people experiencing this bad animal hospital! Even if the call was cutting out. Y’all didn’t have to be rude or disrespectful. Y’all need to take customer service courses.

Janelis we are sorry you feel this way. You had called and because the receptionist couldnt hear you and hung up you stated she was rude. I listened to the call and she was not rude at all, she simply couldnt hear you. When I tried to explain that and explan that your phone was breaking up and going in and out and I think that might have been the problem you said I needed to re-listen to the call and called me a liar. You continued to yell at me. My comment to you was that I wasnt sure what was going on for you to be so upset about a call where the receptionist couldnt hear you. This was after you threatened the news, bad google reviews, etc. You called to have your address changed in the system. I was very nice to you and did not laugh, I even askied you to stop yelling and make sure I could hear you to get information correct when we were talking. You looked up my profile and said "I see you" as if you were threatening me. I did not hear the receptionist do anything rude when I reviewed the call. You did not like that answer and were upset from the start. I am still not sue why a misunderstanding because a receptionist couldnt hear you would make you so upset. We do wish you the best in the future.

Experiencia positiva: Greedy greedy greedy I don't know how else to put it because you guys won't see my dog unless I give you a ton of money up front I explained to you guys that I don't qualify for scratch pay Care credit or any of those any of the above I can't even get a small loan personal loan for $1,200 because my credit is so crappy my credit is not crappy because I'm an irresponsible person my credit is crappy because I'm a loving empathetic person who will go out of his ways to help take care of other people. I use my credit to bail my daughter out of some bad debt that way she still had a good shot at life since she was young with good credit now I can't get my dog's life-saving surgery performed because everybody wants money up front and they're not willing to work with me since when did this world become such a asinine place filled with people who only put on a mask of empathy to pretend they care. I had the $1,200 for his surgery and I had four different diagnostic things done at four different places and yet Bijou was going to be the fifth one in line to take another $400 out of my pocket and that's why I'm leaving this review I find that extremely frustrating and wrong. I have a referral to go to a vet and have a pinna amputation done that's what needs to be done not a another blood work testing and send me on my way with some meds because this is almost to his skull do you guys understand that every time you guys do this you put him in more Jeopardy of dying it's either that or you guys are trying to force the tumor up on his head so you could charge me more money greedy greedy greedy I can't say how disappointed I am you don't take a referral where all the basic work is already been done and then say oh well we got to redo it again because that was a different vet you wouldn't like it if I did that as a mechanic with your cars oh I don't care what you say the symptoms are I'm going to have to charge you $500 freaking dollars just to find out what's wrong with it and then I'm going to write you up a bill for three times the amount because that's what your matrix is and you're going to have to pay that up front before I even start working otherwise nothing's going to get done how would you like that if every mechanic was like that?

Hi David, I am sorry you feel this way. We do rechecks from other vets and second opinions and use previously done diagnostics. I dont have record of us ever seeing you. You scheduled an appointment but never showed up or called to even cancel. I reviewed the calls and Lydia had you fill out the new client paperwork before scheduling but never said you needed to have money upfront. She actually got you in the next day. You asked for a quote and she said the doctor would need to see your baby to do an exam and give you a quote. She never said anything about any other money or re-doing diagnostics. I know you have called several vets maybe there was a mix up with which vet office said what. You did not discuss Care Credit or Scratch Pay with her either. We do not offer Scratch Pay. If you would like to call to discuss further I would be happy to speak to you. Everything you described above did not happen in your interaction with Lydia. I hope you were able to get help for your baby.

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing staff. We had Dr. Duneman until she left unfortunately, but the new doctors for all.4 dogs are great! They make filling prescriptions and getting questions answered so easy! Only thing I'd change is the check out process but that's nothing to do with their level.of care. Doctors listen and don't oversell unnecessary things.

Experiencia negativa: Edit in response to Bijou feedback: My review is intended to point out the utter lack of professionalism and basic veterinary knowledge demonstrated by the person who took my call. An appropriate response would be something like, “That’s an urgent condition, and we only accommodate established clients with same day appointments.” Not, “Oh, um, yeah, that would be Oct 21.” As the first contact with Bijou, the receptionist’s behavior reflects on the entire practice. Just called requesting an appointment for my cat to evaluate a possible bowel blockage. New patient. “Oh, um, new patient, yeah, um, that would be Oct 21 to establish you as a new client.” That’s 15 days from now. Bowel blockage. Same day needed. “Oh, yeah, we don’t have any appointments.” How did this facility get top ratings???

Edit in response: I know what your review was intended to do. We do have new people who are learning, I was happy to use this as a teaching moment for her to help her grow. She is young and really does work hard and does have the best and sweetest caring heart. The rest can be teaching moments and as long as she is the right type of person, the rest will come. Hi Rocky, I am so sorry about your cats possible bowel blockage. For new clients we do not have open appointments immediately available. Im sorry we couldnt get you in. Your current vet should be able to accomodate you as we save same day appointments or offer urgent care drop offs for our current clients if we can. Your best option would be to go to a emergency or urgent care clinic as this could be a serious issue. We wish you the best.

Experiencia fantástica: Whenever someone asks for a vet recommendation, I immediately say Bijou Animal Hospital. I've been taking my fur babies here for years and recently I took my pup Twix in for her final visit. It was a heartbreaking time but Dr. Busby and the staff made sure she was comfortable when she crossed the rainbow bridge. It's never easy saying goodbye to a furry family member but I'm thankful everyone was so accommodating and caring. I'll continue taking my babies here knowing they're getting the best care possible ❤️

Experiencia negativa: I used to take all my pets here and the actual owner is amazing and has a lot of experience with all kinds of pets. However, the office manager is absolutely ridiculous! The two times that I have tried to take my dog here the appointments were beyond late. I have had a good experience with my rabbits and hamster but for some reason appointments with my dog did not start as scheduled. The final time that I went here personally was for my dog and after waiting for 20 minutes deciding to cancel the appointment as other appointments had been scheduled for the day. When cancelling I wanted to ensure that a cancellation fee would not be charged due to the vet not being on time for the appointment. At this time the office manager, Melissa or something, came to the front desk to cancel my appointment then proceeded to give me attitude about how someone else could've used that time and she would send me my pets records so that I could go elsewhere. Of course after a 20 minute wait me cancelling would help the vet get back on schedule... But from what I have found is this office manager has a major attitude problem and will reach out and personally attack customers who leave bad reviews. After finding out about the managers terrible business practices I attempted to inform the actual owner. In doing that I found out that all complaints, Google, phone, email, and through the company's website are all answered by this woman who is petty, will post your personal information, talk about your deceased pets and has been employed at this office for far too long. I fully expect some nonsense reply but do your research and beware of this office manager!!

Experiencia fantástica: They always help and are nice to my babies (we are there pretty often because both have poo issues/allergies or somehow they get lumps or bumps out of thin air, CO weather hasnt been nice to them haha). Dr. Severson has helped both my girls with their bronchitis and utis. Dr. Busby has helped my senior chihuahua with my a colitis flare and found her weird knee that pops every once in a while. Dr Harriger recently was able to squeeze in my chihuahua who was off in the morning and had a poo blockage, successfully able to remove it and gave my pup fluids & meds. Got her in again because i had some concerns about that day. They all explain and answer all my Q&A to ways i can understand (i have days i have brain fog and dont/slowly grasp things) which i highly appreciate that. Office is very nice too! they are good at communicating or if they dont know something they will let the nurse/doctors give you a call. Pricing i feel like its the same everywhere here in CO which is more expensive than hawaii but less than the part of TX where im from. wait times to get a room or check out sometimes/can be longer than expected, not all the time tho (i just make sure i have enough time in my day to take them, just in case) and wait times on the phone can be a while but my pups arent the only ones who need help and i appreciate that they always get back to me :) Love, Panini & buttercup thank you always! and yall keep doing amazing

Experiencia negativa: What is going on over there?? I can't even call to make an appointment anymore. In the time it took her to explain it she could've booked 3 appointments. No wonder I was on hold so long. Wasting a bunch of time explaining the new process when they could just make the appointment right away. Simple and easy. If it ain't broke don't fix it! I'm sure someone was lied to and was told this new process would save them time and money and be more efficient. *Update* Called another vet and in 8:06 on the phone im signed up as a new patient and have an appointment scheduled for this Friday. Too easy! *Update* Received a call from the receptionist and she left a message apologizing as she found out she was able to add a new pet without issue. But since I already had an appointment at another clinic I didn't feel the need to return her call as I didn't need an appointment. Well the manager emailed me...didn't call. She wished I had spoken with her first like I'm supposed to pull a Karen or something I guess. Felt my review of the situation was harsh. So...without speaking to me or waiting for a reply she went ahead and sent me all my animal records and said enjoy my new clinic. Over a mistake they made. That I left an honest review of. Mind you the vets are great and I've always had great experiences there before but if they don't like someone's honest review of a specific incident, that sounds like something they need to handle in the mirror.

Experiencia negativa: I keep reposting because this scam of a place responds with nonsense. My dog Daisy—my sweet girl—is battling pancreatitis and a gallbladder tumor. She’s gravely ill. She was seen at an emergency clinic and had an ultrasound, and they sent the results to Bijou Animal Clinic—her primary vet. That was days ago. Not a single call. Not even a check-in. I’ve called repeatedly, desperate for updates, terrified for my dog. Every time I’m told someone will call. They don’t. Then I’m told the doctors are “too busy.” Too busy to review a critical case? Too busy to call a worried owner whose dog might not have much time left? This isn’t just dropped communication—it’s emotional cruelty. I trusted them with Daisy’s care. Now I’m sitting here, watching her decline, feeling completely abandoned by the people who were supposed to help her. No pet parent should ever feel like this. If your animal is in crisis, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. Daisy deserved better. So does every pet that walks through their doors.

Michelle I am not sure why you continue to delete because of our response. I happy to have a phone conversation with you if you would like to call. Michelle, I am so sorry you feel this was your experience. I looked and we do not have Daisy under your account, but did find Daisy under Pamela Barkowski's account. Pamela called on Monday 4/21 at 11:55am and spoke to a receptionist. She had told the receptionist that she went to the ER over the weekend and we should have the report. The receptionist let her know that we did not get the report yet but that she would call and get it and, when we received it, a nurse would review the report, and call her. The er did not send the report until after we were closed. The next morning, April 22nd, the receptionist attached the report and put in a call back for a nurse to call her. The nurse noticed that Pamela was going back to the er for an ultrasound for Daisy that day and wanted to wait for the ultrasound results to consult with the doctor. The ultrasound report came in that same day at 5:34pm and the nurses call back was updated. Pamela called the next morning and the receptionist let her know that we had received the report and a nurse would call her that day, April 23rd. The receptionist scheduled Daisy for a follow up appointment because the er requested a follow up in 3-5 days. Pamela wanted Dr. Busby but he did not have any openings until Wednesday, which was 7 days. Pamela asked if she should wait for the Dr. Busby appointment and the receptionist said she didnt recommend it and could get her and Daisy in on Monday with another doctor. She agreed and scheduled the appointment. At no point did anyone say the doctor was too busy. The nurse called Pamela the same day, April 23rd at 2:57pm to discuss Daisy's er report and ultrasound results. She then offered Pamela an appointment for Thursday or Friday, April 24th or 25th if she had felt Daisy was too sick to wait until Monday. We received the er report 26 minutes before we closed and a nurse called you back the next day. The er did not send the report to us, we had to request it on Monday. If the er doctor does not have the notes complete or is waiting for follow up testing to complete the notes then that is when they send the report to us. We need to wait for the report to review it and to know what is happening with your baby before we call. The er diagnosed Daisy with the tumors, we did not know that until we got the report. Communication was not dropped nor was our intent emotional cruelty. When Pamela called on Monday she notified us that Daisy had been at the er. We did not have the report but requested it right away. At that point we still did not know what she was diagnosed with because we didnt have the report nor did Pamela tell the receptionist. We depend on the er to let us know that our patients visited them, otherwise we wouldnt even know. I know how hard it is and how very scary it is when your fur baby is sick. We know it is very stressful for Pamela and we wish the best for her and sweet Daisy.

Experiencia negativa: I brought my 17 yr old cat in on Monday with a suspected UTI. After examination and urine test the doctor told me that as suspected, my girl had a UTI. She went on to tell me that for $140, I could choose to have a more comprehensive urine test done to see if my girl needed something stronger than the regular antibiotic. Because of her age, I agreed to do the further testing. The next day I get a voicemail saying that because of some sort of mixup with a courier, my girls sample didn't go and I'd have to bring her in again. I did that this morning and was told they couldn't get enough urine and could I leave her, sure, she's at the vets office where they are going to take care of her, right? I stopped to pick her up late this afternoon only to have her handed to me with a carrier full of cat litter. They said sorry we had an accident. OK, I get it, until I got her home and discovered my cat carrier basically broken, my cat covered in litter, and her sitting in poop and pee. My sick cat with a UTI sitting in poop and pee!!! I am beyond pissed and called and asked to speak with someone. I talked with Victoria who although very nice, just kept saying she was sorry and that the office manager would call me. I haven't heard from anyone yet but I have to say, it's shameful how you returned my already sick cat to me. You're a vet office, you're supposed to take care of people's pets. Shame on you and learn how to use a top load pet carrier. If you break it, say something, don't just hand it back to the person. You're lucky my cat didn't fall out. I'm disappointed and pretty angry, especially since my cat has been going there for 16 years.

Experiencia fantástica: My doggo had a great first visit with Dr. Stover for a routine checkup and shots. I had been looking for a more cost friendly veterinarian without sacrificing good care. I felt really confident after my visit that I made the right choice. My dog can get uncomfortable with strangers but Dr Stover and the others took great care of her. & we were in n out in a reasonable amount of time! I also appreciated how large the waiting room was due to my pups occasional reactivity.

Experiencia negativa: We’ve been going to Bijou for a few years now and have a some bad tastes in our mouths about (1) the receptionists and (2) the outrageous charges for services. I recently had my Golden Retriever vaccinated and also completed a physical exam…what used to be a $85-$100 visit for 2-3 shots and an exam is now $190+ I have noticed that care for our boy and our 2 cats has skyrocketed over the past months and it’s getting a little nuts! Also, be sure to ALWAYS ask for pricing and treatment plan costs, because as many posts will show, you’ll walk out after charging a $1000 bill to your credit card if you’re not careful…and the kicker is they seem VERY irritated or judgmental if you have too many questions regarding the dollar amount….I’m sorry but not everyone can just Willy-nilly drop $1000 on a dog or cat.

Experiencia fantástica: Great place. Got us in quickly and they genuinely care about the animals (not putting on a good face for marketing or goodwill). Yes, they are busy, but they are very good. While my dog will probably never want to set paw back in there again due to the neutering that transpired last time I took him, I will always go to these people in the future. They do charge a lot, but they have earned it, in my opinion. It is good seeing a vet doing well in this economy. Every customer in the place was frowning and sad, but not the employees. The vet who performed surgery gave me a call and left a voice message - something rare and highly appreciated.

Experiencia negativa: This place is the worst not only did there office manager tell me to shut the hell up they made me feel like if I did t have a lot of money they'd let my baby die . The vet had said she was keeping him to that evening she's calm me net me know how's was but the office manager told me to take my dog n get out !! And if that's not bad enough they got enough never To call animal co told on me n ye them my baby needed to be put down! Anyone that lovex there babies don't go to these people I'm glad she told is to go cause I saved my baby n he's perfect you guys charged me almost $400 n still don't got a clue smh. Worse place ever ?!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: The Vets here at Bijou have been caring for my animals for many years. They have been pretty reasonably priced and more importantly everyone there has always treated my animals like they were their favorites. I know they treat my animals like they were their own and it's very comforting knowing they are giving my fur babies their best care and attention. Thank you all!

Experiencia positiva: Edit on 8/25/24: We have sat on this a couple days before editing our review because we want to be as fair and concise as possible. We took one star off for professionalism and one star off what we felt like was maybe lack of experience or control over a dangerous situation. Usually we receive nothing but unbiased, professional, and top quality care here but our last visit with (an unnamed Vet) has left a bad taste in our mouths as dog owners and as humans. We had taken our dog in for a routine exam and while waiting in the lobby of course he made friends with everyone: a couple with a 15 y/o cat. A beagle, he sat with us. He saw some receptionists. Everyone just treated him normal so he was normal. He was a little panty but he’s a big boy (~125lbs) and big boys can be scary. Once we get in the room everything is fine but my wife notices the tech is scared and asked if he needed to be muzzled. Hes walking around her. She pet him a couple times. Showed no signs of anything. No change in posture, tail neutral, still taking treats. He’s muzzle trained so we have no problem with this if it helped her but she got more nervous basically ignored everything we said after the word muzzle and left. We have owned dogs and taken them to the vet our entire lives. It is very unprofessional to come in with raised volumes to dogs you have never met and place your hands in their faces. To any dog, let alone a younger one who’s never met you. He went into high alert and freaked out. This has our dog change his whole demeanor. Hackles up, tail tucked, jaws open, barking for them to give him space. IT IS EVEN MORE UNPROFESSIONAL AND INAPPROPRIATE to yell at the top of your lungs at us the parents while he’s still barking, “I’m calling it, no, that’s it, we’re done here!” As owners what that showed us was the lack to control from the professionals in the room in that situation. My wife made the remark in the car that she acted like she was ready to put our dog down. Had it been a chihuahua would it have been the same? Probably not. This was not our dogs first visit at Bijou. He’s been here for check ups, vaccines, major and minor surgeries. Walk ins AND drop offs. The last visit he was actually led back a tiny vet tech by herself no problem. It’s unfortunate that now he has this experience ingrained in his young mind and that it’s a scary place. It was our mistake not waiting for an opening with DR. BAUSCH and we won’t be making that mistake again. Original review: Had a great experience. Haven't gone to a traditional brick and mortar that isn't a big chain. Dr. Bausch and staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We have now decided to take all our animals here based on the experience we had with our large breed puppy. Environment was clean and other patients seemed very comfortable there.

The outcome of my pup was not good and they helped me through this hard time by explaining everything in detail and gave him the best care toward the end. Experiencia fantástica: The staff here have always been so kind and helpful to us, regardless of our needs. We've had everything from emergency surgery and teeth cleanings and general wellness visits, to having to say goodbye to a beloved family member last week. Staff has always been more than helpful and respectful of everything we need, and they saved our cat's life by providing timely surgery and prioritizing her health. Genuinely just so grateful for everyone here.

Experiencia negativa: BEWARE! BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES. BEWARE OF OVERCHARGES. THIS BUSINESS DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PET, ONLY TO REACH DEEP IN YOUR POCKETS. I waited all weekend to schedule an appt with my veterinarian at Bijou, whom has always been excellent in her field, and extremely caring. Esp when I lost my partner, my dog. Waited all wked, so I could schedule with HER Monday and abate cost of ER visit, just for case diarrhea. Made appt in morn, and J. D. receptionist said I could come in if I hurry. When I did arrived, we were given another vet, actually two vets came in and both did exams. (not withstanding the vet tech that brought us in) After 5 min check on the dogs, she stated there is a bacteria going around and that she had a case of IT (diarrhea) prior that day. When asked for bill, the TOTAL WAS $847. For dogs with simple case of diarrhea!! It saddens me greatly that I will no longer see the vet I came to love, trust and admire but now after this experience, I will take my dogs elsewhere. With that charge, I might as well, have just gone to ER for diarrhea. This clinic assumes everyone knows the charges going forward and does not ask you prior, if charges and what is performed, are acceptable to you. Businesses whom assume you will pay whatever they decide to charge, (found out today each vet charges differently, and the one I got this morning is obviously trying to put triplets through college) should be illegal. They assume due to your pet being a beloved family member, that you will gladly take the charges up the rear end. Maybe taking it up the rear end, to stop the diarrhea, would have been less expensive than the treatment we received today at Bijou. We will not return. Seriously, BEWARE.

Experiencia negativa: Overall we love going to the bijou vet, always amazing doctors most of the time, but when it comes to customer service over the phone perhaps they should get someone that likes their job more. Spoke to Carolyn and she kept on letting out sighs that we could hear over the phone whenever we would ask her about other doctors and their availability’s. Her tone was not friendly you could tell she got irritated even though we were just asking for availability and were nice about it, I’m sure it’s not hard to have a friendly tone especially if you work in customer service. It’s not the greatest feeling specially when you’re calling for your sick pup that you just want the best for.

Experiencia fantástica: I have never had a bad experience with this crew. Everyone from the actual vet to the front desk staff are exceptional and it is worth the 30 min drive to bring my animals to them. They treat my dog and cat so kindly and I believe they truly have our families best interest in mind. If you are unsatisfied with your current veterinarian service, I can’t say enough about how outstanding these individuals are.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been taking my animals here for the last couple years. About a year and a half ago I had to put down my cat of 20 years and that's when o met Dr. Duneman. She was such a bright light for me during an absolutely heartbreaking time. She was patient, kind and loving towards not only my kitty, but myself and family. Since then she has seen all of my animals (all 5) and continues to be our main vet. She is always knowledgeable, understanding, kind and loving and always has the animals best interest at heart. We have also seen other vets at this clinic and have had the same experience! Everyone there is wonderful and truly loves every animal that comes through the door!

Experiencia fantástica: I arrived with my cat in a life emergency. I had forgotten that they do not accept emergencies. None the less they were extremely kind and took her right in proceeding to try and rescue her. After great effort they felt she could not be saved. They were very kind in helping me to relieve her of all suffering. It was a peaceful and gentle goodbye. I honor the staff at Bijou Animal Hospital for their loving kindness and their excellent care of animals. As well as their kindness towards me. Over the years I have taken several animals and they have all received wonderful care. Much gratitude for their very caring staff.

Experiencia negativa: Called for pricing on a visit and they gave pricing but set up an appointment without being asked put a negative mark on my account due to this. Was told that the only reason the mark is staying because the last words the receptionists said was “see you soon” and those were the only words relatively spoken to “set” the appointment in their eyes. Visited 12 days before this and told my animal was in excellent health. We have been patients for over a year, never missed an appointment, payed at time of service every time. We have also had issues where we have requested different doctors just to be given the same doctor when we arrive as we had previously. After this most recent interaction we have pulled our PUP from Bijou and will be using a different vet.

Hi Brittany, I reviewed the recorded call and you asked for a same day appointment and unfortunately we did not have one but the receptionist offered you a urgent care drop off. The receptionist went over the pricing with you and said you would need to drop off by 10:00 am you said ok, thank you and the receptionist then said she would see you then and you responded "all right bye " I am sorry that there was confusion but we definitely don't have extra appointments to schedule people in. We try to work our sick patients in when we can. When you did not show the receptionist gave the cancellation policy. There is not a negative mark on your account. The first time you miss an appointment the policy is given so you are aware of the policy. Again I am sorry for the confusion and we wish you the best.

Missy is the best front of house leader and is so knowledgeable. She helped us get all the paperwork together for our health certificate. Super great experience here, they all know the importance of our furry family members. I would highly recommend if you’re looking for a vet clinic in the area!

Experiencia fantástica: Best veterinarian I've ever had to deal with (and we deal with them often with chickens, 4 cats, 3 dogs). The staff is ALWAYS friendly and truly goes above and beyond. We recently had to put down our most handsome Rottweiler in the whole world and they made the process so incredible and even weeks later still let us know they care and how sorry they are for our loss. We've brought in all our animals at the same time and somehow they managed all of us. They have appts relatively quickly for any immediate concerns and they refill prescriptions with ease. I can't say enough positive things about this place thanks to the incredible staff. So, so thankful for them every time.

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my 12 week old kitten to see Dr. Meyer today for upper respiratory issues. Dr. Meyer was incredibly patient and friendly. She made the whole visit less stressful for both myself and my kitten, Gouda. The appointment was booked same day and ended up being super affordable. Thank you so much Dr. Meyer and staff. I have most certainly found my new regular vet office.

Experiencia fantástica: I was a mess this morning and copied our dog’s appt time into my phone wrong. It was at 9, but we showed up at 9:45. Rather than cancelling us, they kindly worked us in and were accommodating with my request to come curbside, as I am sick. Very grateful to still have our pup seen and treated for some nasty allergy and skin issues. Can’t wait for him to feel better. Love this office.

Experiencia fantástica: Highly recommend! From the front desk to the Doctors, nurses and techs, everyone has been awesome! I had to take my dog to the Animal ER(not Bijou) and I received a text the next day from Bijou checking on my dog to see if we needed a follow up visit and just to see how he was doing. How many places take the time to do that? Prices are reasonable as well.

We have lost 2 pets in the time we’ve been with them and they always provide a paw print and send a sympathy card in the mail. They treat our animals like their own. Experiencia negativa: My Girlfriend took our cat in for a routine vaccine, only to find out they out they gave my CAT a DOG vaccine. Do not trust this place if you care for your pet at all!!! Hopefully my cat will be okay, only time will tell. Would highly recommend finding a new vet.

Experiencia fantástica: We’re fairly new to the Springs and love Bijou Animal Hospital! I’m so happy when I’m able to make an appointment for two of my dogs to be seen at the same time. The waiting area is clean and spacious, the providers are knowledgeable, and the rest of the staff is friendly. My pups give them 5/5 stars.

Anyhow I've been working with Dr. Severson such a amazing Dr on furballs she's helped me sooooooo sooo much with what's going on. They're so caring and understanding. I will forever be grateful for her ❤️. Thank you so much for taking care of my Princess and the staff. Ya'll are amazing. I will always recommend anyone who ask where to take your fur babies at. Experiencia negativa: The care has really changed over the last few years and after today I will no longer take my dogs there. I called about a possible UTI, wanting to drop off a sample and they couldn’t get us in until Monday. An additional 5 days with an untreated UTI. Everywhere I called would let us drop off a sample with established care. Bijou is adamant on charging their pet visit even if it is not in the best interest or necessary for the pet. In 2021 I paid over $900 for a dental cleaning with extraction. This should’ve been the last time I ever went to this vet. They removed double the teeth discussed and did not call for approval. I was very alarmed of the condition my dog was in when I picked her up. This spring we were quoted $1100 for my other dogs dental. We spend 1-3 months in Illinois and prefer our vet there. They did the procedure for $240 with only 1 extraction. I believe Bijou are not concerned or conservative when it comes to the care of the animals teeth. I’ve never been thrilled with the service and after today my 3 large dogs will no longer be patients, a decision I should’ve made a long time ago.

Experiencia fantástica: I've been going to Bijou with my dogs for years. The last year and a half, my Chihuahua had a lot of medical issues involving her liver and gall bladder with a few hospital stays being necessary. They always got her in quickly for an appointment whenever she had a flare up of symptoms. All the staff was kind and understanding. They would give me donated medicines that she needed if they had it on hand to help me with costs. I had to put her to sleep the other day and they made everything go as peacefully and well as they possibly could considering the situation. They were all so kind and considerate. I appreciate all they did for me and my sweet baby Buttons.

Experiencia fantástica: We recently moved to the area and had to find a new vet for our dog and cat and we are so impressed with Bijou! Over the weekend we noticed our yorkie-poo had blood in his urine and I called as soon as they opened Monday morning. The receptionist said we could come in and drop him off and and Dr. Severson would see our dog as soon as she had a chance. I was pleasantly surprised when she called about an hour and half hour later saying that he had bladder stones and the soonest surgery available was Friday but they could move things around and Dr. Bausch would get him in that same afternoon. We're so grateful and we're happy to have our little guy home recovering!

Experiencia fantástica: A young women came in who was distraught because her dog had eaten dark chocolate. The Tech JD had the vet take the puppy's vitals which were normal. JD returned her dog and reassured her that all would be fine. She was not charged for the visit and was back in her car in less than 10 minutes. The entire staff earned a 5 star rating! BTW, my visit was exceptional as well.

Experiencia fantástica: I hate to say it because I don't want a lot of people to start coming here but this is a great veterinarian clinic. I want hem to fluourish and grow but I dont want to have to wait forever for an appointment. They've always treated me and my furry roommates with respect and caring. I've never had them suggest testing or procedures that were unnecessary. I've had nothing but good experiences here. They were recommended to us and I would/have recommend them to other people. They are very caring people and seem to have you and your roommates best goal in mind. This is where we take all of our furry, or otherwise, friends to.

Experiencia negativa: I have been taking my dog to Bijou for 6 years and have been extremely happy with the care given to my dog. Last year my mom had a stroke and I’ve had to spend most of my time in CA caregiving. When I’m in CO I’m back for 4 weeks at a time. I tried to make an appt for my dog to have a minor procedure done along with a vaccine. I was not able to get an appt for almost a month because my dog is no longer an established patient even though we had a minor procedure done in November. I’m sad this is the way you treat your regular clients who have obstacles beyond their control.

Hi Ruth, I am sorry you feel this way. Typically anal glands can be done with a nurse which is what we did for your baby in November. However a doctor in our practice has not seen Sophie since 2020 so we can not do any procedures with a nurse until a doctor sees your baby. We also can not do a rabies vaccine with a nurse. That needs to be done with a doctor to make sure the patient is healthy to get a vaccine and that is by law in Colorado. We are booking out for vaccines and well visits about 3 weeks and the receptionist did offer to get you in on April 20th when you called on March 30th. She also offered a cancellation list. Your dog is still a patient but the doctor needs to have a patient relationship with in a years time to do nurse appointments. We have made exceptions in the past for the anal glands for you but can not for the vaccine. I am sorry that the time frame was not going to work with your schedule. I'm sorry you feel you were treated poorly because we could not get you in and I do understand your frustration when you have obstacles in your way unfortunately we tried the best we could to get your baby taken care of with the time we had available.

Experiencia fantástica: Every time I have been going to this Clinic I have a lo ways been treated with the utmost respect and All staff are wonderful even right now with the Covid 19 all precautions are taken and the I respect that these dedicated individuals behind the scene , I got to see today most have not seen then, and all the front desk outstanding. after this review was written on 18 March 2023 My dog had to be put down due to sever medical problems . The staff as always were very helpful being a Saturday, I have used this Animal Hospital for this dog for 13yrs as always professional , cant say enough positive things, Front Desk personnel , the Doctors, and the back personnel who clean and insure that all the animals needs are taken care of, I saw how the back behind the personnel work outstanding I will continue to recommend this facility.

Experiencia fantástica: We kind of stumbled on this place because we were advised to get a vet close to where we live, just in case. We did our research and were impressed by the reviews and professionalism even over the phone, answering all our questions. We came in with high expectations for our pup's first visit. they EXCEEDED. From the receptionist, every worker wore a smile and welcomed us. Dr. Busby was amazing. Our dog seems to get nervous and defensive with men but the doc won him over right away, allowing our silly boy Shadow to lick his face and wiggle as he does when he's excited. Our pup was so relaxed into the exam, he didn't even feel when Dr. Busby gave him a shot! He answered our questions and gave great recommendations and instructions to give our pup great care. We left happy, our pup left happy, with an amazing smelling dog - safe candle. And prices are reasonable. Win win win. We look forward to working with them for our dog's needs from here on out.

Experiencia fantástica: We've been taking our hounds here since 1989. They have always received top-notch care. Additionally, anything unplanned has gotten top priority. The staff really seems to care and love what they are doing.

Experiencia fantástica: Bijou Animal Hospital always takes such great care of my baby Destro. Love their staff and their waiting area is great. 2 waiting areas to separate dogs & cats if needed. Vet & techs will get any questions you have answered, with no judgement. Very kind and informing to pet owners. Thank you

Experiencia fantástica: They have me $10 free to gamble with since I haven't been there for 6 months or longer. That was pretty sweet for sure. It is a great atmosphere with very friendly helpful staff. I can't wait to go back!

Experiencia fantástica: Could not get in my regular vet, so I tried Dr. Meyer at a friend's suggestion. They were able to see me quickly because my kitty needed attention. Dr. Meyer was great with my feisty cat and confirmed what was wrong and scheduled for surgery. Very warm and efficient.

Experiencia fantástica: I came in today without an appointment and in hysterics. There had been an unexpected situation with my dog and we had to rush her to the closest vet. The staff immediately without question took my pup to the back to have her looked at. The front desk was warm and understanding that I had an emergency and I wasn’t a current client at this practice. They never made me feel like a burden and were reassuring the entire time, giving me constant updates on my dog in the back. I don’t typically take my pets to this vet, but their patience and kindness during our emergency warrants my recommendation and thanks.

Experiencia fantástica: Very loving and gentle. Fit me in right away when I had an emergency. Allowed me to be with my boy during his exam and procedure. Very reasonably priced to boot. They would be my regular vet if I didn't live two hours away.
