Fantastic experience: Dr. O is incredible! He has a very calming demeanor, that helps ease the anxiety of both pets and pet parents! He explains things very thoroughly and thoughtfully, you can tell he takes the time to get to know and gain the trust of his patients and pet parents! I feel so at ease and trust the hands that my dog's care is in.

Negative experience: I waited six months to write this review because I did not want my anger or my grief to be the reason it was written. Time has passed, the employee who made the decision that day has been let go, and still this needs to be said. I lost my beloved dog, Sir-Lix-Alot, and nothing will ever bring him back. Sir-Lix-Alot was an 11-year-old terrier mix. Years ago, I was told he had an irregular heartbeat and an enlarged heart. We monitored it as he aged. At his senior wellness visit, he was scheduled for an X-ray to check the size of his heart. That appointment was on a Friday. I was told he did not need medication yet, only that he needed to lose a little weight. The following Monday, around 4:30 p.m., after picking my son up from school, I came home and immediately knew something was wrong. Sir-Lix-Alot was not in his usual spot. He was wheezing and coughing. When you know your pet, you know. I called the office and asked if I could bring Sir-Lix-Alot in immediately. We live three minutes away. This had been his vet since the day he walked into my backyard and into my life nine years earlier. I was told no. The person who answered did not ask a veterinarian, did not ask if anyone could see him, and did not try to help. She told me it was too late in the day and that if something was really wrong, I should take him to an emergency vet. My mother also called and begged them to let us bring Sir-Lix-Alot in. She was also turned away. I picked up Sir-Lix-Alot, and my eight-year-old son got into the backseat after seeing how upset I was. We had to drive past this very clinic on the way to the emergency vet. There were cars in the parking lot. They were not closed. Sir-Lix-Alot lay still in my lap until we were about a mile from the emergency vet. Then he suddenly lifted his head, began coughing, blood came from his mouth, he urinated on me, and he went limp. He died in my arms. I was hysterical. My son witnessed all of this. I ran into the emergency clinic with Sir-Lix-Alot in my arms, begging them to save him. They restarted his heart, but fluid continued to come up, and there was no saving him. I then had to make the decision to euthanize Sir-Lix-Alot. My mother arrived shortly after and paid a $1,200 bill for restarting his heart and then stopping it again. The next day, I emailed this clinic to tell them what happened and that I blamed them for turning us away. About a week later, the office manager called and told me the employee who refused to see us had been let go. I was told that next time I should “just come in.” I blame myself for not doing that, but when you are told no, twice, you listen. I will never know if Sir-Lix-Alot could have been saved. I will never know what was missed or what went wrong so suddenly with my otherwise happy, loving dog. I will live with those questions for the rest of my life. The photo attached is Sir-Lix-Alot’s urn. That is what I was sent home with.
Fantastic experience: We have been using North Dallas Vet Veterinary Hospital for 10 years and make the 30 minute drive, due to the quality of service that we have always received. Today was no exception. Meeting Dr. O for the first time was a wonderful experience and I look forward to my further interactions with him. He has a very calming demeanor that can be felt immediately by patient and pet parents when he walked into the room. The visit was not rushed, he explained everything that would take place during the visit and reassured me, his follow up email would remind me what was covered and websites to check out for oral health products recommended by vets. Dr. O is a fantastic addition to the practice and the pet parents thank you for finding him!

Fantastic experience: We have been with NDVH for years; whether our visit is for an annual wellness check or diagnosis and treatment of an illness, our cat and dogs have always been perfectly cared for. All the doctors, techs, and front office staff are friendly and compassionate, we couldn’t ask for a better veterinary family!
Negative experience: I took my dog to have his annual check up in late September, Dr said he was fine, a week later my dog goes into full cardiac arrest and my gets friend turned away at the door because it was closing time and they were full, so this is to everyone that got good services, good for you!

Fantastic experience: I went into their office to pickup a refill for my cat. I explained some concerns I was having about my cat and the front desk worked him in to be seen immediately. The staff is very caring, compassionate, and understanding. They quickly fixed up my distressed feline. I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough about Dr. Strother at North Dallas Veterinary Hospital. She took the best care of our Labrador Retriever, Lincoln after he fractured his foot. She made sure to explain the injury and every step necessary to heal him to us. She was mindful of his pain and treated him with so much heart. I felt she really cared about him and she and her tech, Heidi made him comfortable. His tail was wagging even through the tough visit. They are the best!!

Negative experience: The communication and customer service are not acceptable. I called and spoke with Heidi about the services I want, prepaying for them, and whatever else comes up during the appointment, I can pay for after. She wasn't sure, but was advised to follow up once she spoke to her manager. She called and left a voicemail stating I could prepay and to call back to set up the appointment. I called back the following morning and spoke to a different young lady who automatically denied my request. I informed her of the woman I spoke with yesterday and what we agreed upon, but she did not listen. She was very dismissive, argumentative, and didn't even apologize for the miscommunication. Normally, this would not have been that big of a deal, and I would have made the appointment online like she advised, but due to the tone, lack of empathy, and internal miscommunication, I would rather go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I have used this Vet for 20 years and over the past year many of the Dr’s have changed. This yearly visit I saw Dr “O” who I loved. I have 2 senior dogs that have a few different issues. He was very knowledgeable and was able to diagnose them and explain the problems. He gave me options of treatment and next steps. He was patient and took the time to answer all my questions so I understood everything and knew what treatments are most important. He was able to put this overprotective dog owner at ease which is a wonderful quality! I am going to continue using Dr. “O” as my primary vet for my girls.

Fantastic experience: Always great service and good care of my pet. Dr Ford is a real pleasure to work with, as are all the vets and techs here. All of the team members at NDVH are great people to work with, and help me to take very good care of my furry family member. Special thanks this time to Dr. Caraway and her techs for giving Marley excellent care and treatment as he moves into his latter years. Annual senior care check up with Dr O. He was very thorough in going over my pet’s health concerns, with great insights into making his senior years more comfortable and enjoyable. After our visit, I received an email outlining everything we discussed as well as my dog’s health concerns, and links to web pages he recommended for products to address health concerns. I was most appreciative of this service, which has become standard practice for all of my own healthcare providers. Thank you, Dr O, for a great visit and excellent follow up.

Negative experience: The employees are rude, you can hear them gossip which is super unprofessional and their turnover rate is ridiculous. Take your business elsewhere, they’ve got the ugliest attitude and personality.

Fantastic experience: Our dogs have been patients at North Dallas Vet for about 3 years and we've had an incredible experience! They are easily available during business hours, even for last minute/urgent appointments. We've seen multiple vets and vet techs and everyone has been incredibly kind, prompt, and clear in their communication. I highly recommend scheduling with Dr. Osadiaye, who is by far the best vet we've ever seen. He has incredible bed side manner and helped us through a rather scary time when one of our dogs had an allergic reaction to a medication. He was very responsive, supportive and helped us with some urgent treatments and gave us clear next steps for what to do if things got worse. We have full trust in his care with our dogs. We've also utilized the boarding and grooming care as well and they always do a great job! Overall cannot recommend them highly enough, our dogs love it too and get excited whenever we pull into the parking lot.

Fantastic experience: Great experience as a new client. I was able to get a same-day appointment, fill out forms online, and had minimal wait on arrival. Dr. Strother was compassionate with my cat but also extremely professional. She listened and actively engaged. My cat received vaccines and the staff followed up the next day to check on her.

Negative experience: Avoid this vet unless you want stress, confusion, and unnecessary complications. This clinic constantly introduces new staff members, which suggests poor internal culture, inadequate compensation, or a failure to hire and retain qualified professionals. The result is inconsistent care and frequent miscommunication that directly affects your pet. They once operated on the wrong leg of my dog. That level of error is inexcusable under any circumstances. Still, I chose to give them the benefit of the doubt. They comped both surgeries, and I took it as a serious but isolated mistake. I continued using their services because I wanted to believe they could improve. But they have shown again and again that they cannot be trusted to get the basics right. Their communication failures are routine. I recently called twice to confirm the procedure for collecting a urine sample due to an ongoing issue. On the first call, we were told to bring in a sample in a sterile jar. That did not align with what we recalled from speaking with the doctor previously. We called again to clarify. They repeated the same instructions and assured us it was correct. Wanting to do everything properly, I traveled in to pick up a sterile container directly from the clinic to avoid any confusion or contamination. Only during the in-person consultation did it become clear that their instructions had been completely wrong. What was actually required was a direct collection from the bladder using a needle—a procedure that only they could perform. Because of this misinformation, we had to leave our dog at the clinic and make a second trip after he produced enough urine for the correct method. This was entirely avoidable and wasted both time and effort. On that same visit, they claimed to have administered his monthly Librela shot. I confirmed this with the vet tech when I dropped him off, and again with the doctor when I picked him up. However, there was no record of it, and I was not charged for the service. That leaves me with no way to confirm whether it was actually done. They also show no sense of urgency. A widely available generic prescription that an urgent care clinic filled within minutes took this clinic more than twenty-four hours to process, with no follow-up and no explanation. This is not just about one mistake. It is about repeated failures, wasted time, and a clear pattern of negligence. This clinic is careless, disorganized, and unreliable. If you value your time, your money, and more importantly your pet’s well-being, go elsewhere.

Negative experience: This vet clinic is going downhill fast. All the original vets and techs are gone and new ones have been brought in. It's almost impossible to get prescriptions filled. I've bee taking my pets there for years and I am very disappointed.

Negative experience: UPDATE: We ended up taking our dog to the DVSC (Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center) and they were very concerned. After examining him they confirmed that the issue was with the same knee that NDVH operated on! They dug into his surgery for us and found that the surgeon who operated was NOT BOARD CERTIFIED. We had to pay another $4000 for another surgery where they found that his meniscus was also torn.... the original surgeon did not catch nor fix that so now we are out of pocket even more. We did not even know that non-board certified surgeons were a thing considering for humans this is not the case, but the DVSC told us that NDVH should have informed us that our surgeon was non-board certified and given us the option. The irony is that the surgery through the DVSC would have been LESS money with a board certified surgeon than it was through NDVH with a non-board certified surgeon. Lesson learned!!!! This place has seriously gone down hill. As you will see from other recent reviews, all of their previous Veterinarians are now gone, without notice. This includes the one that diagnosed our dog recently, AND the one who performed surgery on the same dog. Now that the surgery did not take, the new Veterinarian is blowing off our concerns, finger pointing to the old vets that are nowhere to be found, and she even started laughing when I explained our concerns. Go somewhere else! More details below... Our 8 year old dog who was in perfect health did hurt his knee. Based on the directive of this practice, they said it was only a partial tear and would be premature to operate on the knee. Within 1 week he fully tore the other knee. When we took him back, they told us this was typical if the original knee isn't operated on - then why did they tell us not to operate?! We ended up paying $5000 to fix he now fully torn knee (second knee). Within months he is back to limping and putting no weight on the second knee (the one we operated on). When we took him back for them to review their own surgery, they charged us another $600!!! They told us that even though he was limping on the knee that had surgery, it was really the problem of the original knee, and recommend we pay another $5000 for another surgery. Then told us that even then, he will not have the same quality of life because now he has developed chronic arthritis because they never operated on the original knee in the first place!! When I pushed back on the doctor she literally laughed. I will forever regret taking our dog to this practice and now will always wonder "what if?" we hadn't take him here in the first place.

Positive experience: My mom’s dog has been going here for 13 years. They are thorough but much pricier than my dogs vet. Groomers are great. Only wish grooming appointments didn’t last 8-9 hours. Quick with medication refills.

Fantastic experience: I loved having my dog and my cat at North Dallas Veterinary Hospital. My dog is elderly with health issues. It was great peace of mind knowing that he was in the hands of professionals. The boarding techs were super sweet. We were away for 10 days and our animals were happy, healthy and clean when we returned. We didn’t use the grooming services, but they are also available. Highly recommended!!!

Fantastic experience: We have been going there for years and love all the vets. We had a recent trauma with our cat and they listened and acted with us as a team for pain management and antibiotics. Really think they saved cat’s life. Front desk staff is empathetic and very helpful. Wish the pet food was not so pricey is the only negative… pets never like it most of the time, LOL!

Negative experience: I had seen multiple warnings in local neighborhood posts about how this vet clinic has gone majorly downhill. However, since we’ve always had such positive experiences in the past, we decided to give it another try. Unfortunately, it confirmed what others have been saying. We had a drop-off appointment this morning, and I sat in the lobby waiting. I watched another vet’s technician kindly and efficiently bring in patient after patient. Meanwhile, no one came for our dog. After 20 minutes, I checked in at the front desk to make sure we hadn’t been missed and was told someone would be right out. I waited another 10 minutes — now a total of 30 minutes — and still, no one came. At that point, we left. It’s sad to see a once-great local vet decline like this. I think there’s a reason all the good vets have bailed. I now have to agree with everyone else — stay away. There are much better, more reliable options out there.

Positive experience: Since we’ve been in Texas for the past seven years we’ve only used North Dallas Veterinary Hospital. I've received exceptionally great care for my cats and we use Dr. Hudson. She has been a great doctor with spending time to discuss my cats yearly check ups. Ones of my cats is.16 now and has early stages of kidney failure. They recommended Renal food for her and her numbers are back to normal. I’m thankful it was caught early! I’ve been coming here for many years and I’ve changed about 5 different doctors. My most recent visit back in February, I was told I’d be called back for an appointment in my for tooth removal for my kitten. I never heard back and was not going to let the kitten suffer for another 2 months just to get an appointment. The service has got much worse from the front desks response and their costs are very pricey only because they offer X-Rays in house. Thank you and farewell NDVH, I’ll be going Legacy Humane Vet Clinic.

Negative experience: I've been a loyal client of North Dallas Veterinary Hospital for over 25 years, as have my family and friends. But I have to ask—where have all the long-time veterinarians gone? Dr. Washatka, Dr. Hudson, Dr. Finney, Dr. Nichols and others—what happened? Why weren’t we notified? Having known Dr. Ford since before he started this clinic at this location, I know he put great thought into selecting veterinarians who were truly amazing. The team he built was exceptional, which makes this sudden change even more disappointing. For those of us who consider our pets family, the disappearance of trusted veterinarians without any communication is deeply upsetting. Transparency and respect for long-time clients should be a priority. The lack of notice feels unprofessional and disheartening. If there was a change, we deserved to be informed. I sincerely hope the clinic will address this and improve communication moving forward.

Negative experience: I had a terrible experience at [Veterinary Hospital NORTH DALLAS VETERINARY EMERGENCY HOSPITAL They started treating my pet without doing any blood or urine tests, jumping straight to expensive treatments without even knowing what was wrong. After three days with no improvement, we asked for answers, and shockingly, they admitted they didn’t know the cause of my pet’s condition. Despite their lack of proper diagnosis, they still charged me an outrageous amount. This kind of careless and money-driven approach is unacceptable. Pet owners trust vets to care for their animals, not to guess at treatments and rack up bills. I would strongly advise others to avoid this hospital and seek care elsewhere. Save yourself the stress, expense, and heartache.

Fantastic experience: North Dallas Veterinary Hospital has been our go-to place to take our pets for over a decade, and our visit yesterday was one of the best ever. Veterinarian Osadiaye did an amazing job of assuring I understood what was going on with my best friend, Cubbie, my beloved cat. Cubbie had a few minor problems, allergies and ear issues, and Dr. Osadiaye had us leave with every question and concern answered. I’ve never felt so secure and pleased with the care we received at our appointment yesterday, and most importantly, Cubbie is happy and feeling better! Huge thank you to North Dallas Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Osadiaye for your attention to care. Having a vet we feel safe and comfortable going to is something I wouldn’t trade for the world.

Negative experience: We were told by recepionist that vet dentist came several days a month for our cat that needed several teeth extracted, but that we would need a consult for first visit. At visit Vet told us we would have to go to another vet for dental extractions. Recepionist won't even tell us or email blood lab work so we will have to go to a another vet (this time a vet dentist) & repeat process including trauma for blood draw to cat.

Fantastic experience: The team at NDVH is amazing. They're always nice, respectful, and caring. We feel safe, heard, and taken care of every visit. Our bulldogs aren't exactly fans of going to see the "dogtor" but they always have wiggle butts and will gladly take a belly rub from any of the team members.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience. Got waited on promptly. My dog, Paisley, was brought in to get her nails clipped a glands done. I try to have the same two techs wait on her each time. She's a rescue dog and likes these two ladies. They're kind and patient and she particularly likes them. She had been abused before i took ownership. (All the techs are nice. Paisley just cooperates better with them).. The staff that works the front desk are always so helpful and courteous. Their prices are competitive with other vets. I've been coming here for 14 years. I love their location and cleanliness and how they conduct business.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful practice. I was pretty nervous to try a new vet when we moved, having had the same one for 10+ years. Walking in the door you can feel they care about your fur babies! Every vet I've seen in this practice is smart, attentive, compassionate. Staff is polite and efficient. They call to check on our doggos after visits, and answer texts with panicked questions. Fantastic experience: We moved to NW Dallas in 1995, and brought our 2 basset hounds to Dr. Ford when the small office was located near Forest and Marsh, near Ross. We cannot thank him enough for the sincere care and compassion he has given to our pets for over 25 years. When Dr. Ford reduced his hours and focused more on surgery, Dr. Hudson provided the same beyond expectations service We have referred many friends and neighbors to North Dallas Veterinary Hospital. When the inevitable happens and we have to say goodbye, DVH was there to ensure a pain-free passing. Dr Hudson even came to our house so we could say goodbye in a familiar comfortable setting and avoid the sad drive and not have to see or be seen in the saddest moments. The most common complaint from the people we’ve referred has been DVH’s pricing. It has noticeably increased in the last few years. Recently we took our 3 bassets in to get the canine flu shots, which require 2 injections per dog. The bill for the second shot was about $200. When we inquired, we were told that we were also charged $45 for a vet which was not required or requested. The charges were adjusted, but I still feel betrayed. We’ll keep going there when annual check ups or an illness occurs, but will consider alternative's for annual vaccinations and boosters.
