Fantastic experience: We have had positive experiences with the clinic. Every time we go to the vet it’s a good experience. We had to put one of our dogs down and they were so nice and supportive during that painful time. I’ll always remember how nice they are.

Fantastic experience: Some people like to call their dogs members of the family, which is as it should be. Ella was more than that, she was also one of my most constant best friends. She got me through more hard times than I can remember. She gave my wife and I over nine years of unconditional love, while being the bossiest, yet sweetest dog anyone could ever ask for. It's been a week since we had to make the decision to let Ella go. Actually, the advanced discovery of hemangiosarcoma made the decision for us, but knowing when it was time to make the call is one no one ever wants to make. There's the inevitable second-guessing after the fact. "Did we exhaust all our options?" "Should we have done more tests?" "Could we have waited just one more day?" As hard as the decision was to make, we do not regret making it. And I want to thank the wonderful people at East Dallas Veterinary Clinic for their kindness, their empathy, and their wisdom throughout an experience no one ever wants to go through. We had total trust in the information we were given and knew the advice we were getting was based entirely on what was best for Ella, not what was easiest to hear. It's hard to single out any person or persons because at every turn we were treated with compassion by everyone there. But I would like to especially thank our vet, Dr. Teresa Martin and Asia Beck, her vet tech. They quietly gave us all the time and space we needed when saying goodbye. Their kindness throughout meant the world to us. Thanks to them, Ella left this world peacefully and surrounded by love.

Fantastic experience: Staff is very friendly as soon as you walk in. What impressed me most was the fact our vet called a few days after our appointment to check up on my dog! Also budget friendly which is a plus!

Negative experience: Everyone is nice, but expect a hour wait to see the doctor. Did you take off work and it's 10 am appointment on a Thursday? Expect a hour wait. Are your animals freaked out and over stimulated? Expect a hour wait. Not sure what the point of appointments is when it's a hour wait every single time. I'd rather go to the dentist, this is the worst thing I have to do. After you've been there for a hour and 15 minutes and are finally at the counter, expect $250-$300 per pet. Have 2 cats and 2 dogs? You gonna need about $1000.

Fantastic experience: Everyone here has been more than wonderful. Dr. Holland is been one of the most caring and kind doctors I have ever had. And her nurse Ashley the same. Additionally, they are super fast and wait time is minimal, they’re attentive, and what I appreciate most is that they treat my fur baby with love. Fantastic experience: This place has the nicest humans under one roof that I have ever experienced. They literally are all earth angels, sent straight from heaven: Today was hard but could have been a lot harder if it wasn’t for this beautiful team. I brought my little hamster on Monday and they tried to help her all week. They were kind and compassionate and treated her like a soul and not a “rodent”. From the front desk staff to the techs to both doctors, I couldn’t be any more grateful. You all are the reason I could even get through today. Although, my little baby couldn’t get better you helped her transition. They care so much, it truly is unbelievable. Fantastic experience: My fur baby had been shaking in pain since the night before. They got him in during lunch. The vet got down on the floor and did a careful physical exam. I’m a human doctor. I know what she’s looking for, not that I had any idea how to replicate it in a canine. Based on history and exam she made a most likely diagnosis, prescribed meds, gave me additional things to look for and to do, and sent us on our way. No costly imaging or procedures. Just an excellent physical exam in capable hands. She was right! My boy is much better, and I know what to look for in the future. Dr. E is the best!

Negative experience: Don't recommend and will not be back with future pets. Edited with update: we used to be happy but would never bring a pet back here after our recent neglectful experience. Our dog loved coming here! Staff was friendly and we loved our old vet (who no longer works here). However, things changed over the years. I do not trust this clinic. Our dog was euthanized and they incorrectly tagged him so we didn't get our paw print memory of him. When we asked how that could happen, they mentioned they incorrectly tagged them accidently. We asked to speak with a manager and never heard from them. When we picked up the ashes, there was no apology, no sorry for our loss, no trying to explain how the mix up happened. Really disappointing experience after spending many, many years with the clinic. However the cremation vendor they used was so nice, expressed their sincere apologies that our vet clinic messed up our order. The manager there remembered our baby and was so sincere and apologetic even though it wasn't their fault.
We are truly sorry for the loss of your pet. Our practice manager did apologize and explain how the error was made. The practice manager also approved a refund since the error was our fault and she communicated this information to you and your husband. We thank you for being a client and allowing us to provide care for your pets over the years.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Martin saved my dog's life. East Dallas Vet staff is kind considerate and caring. When they heard of my dogs passing they wrote and mailed me a kindly written letter with all the staff. They care.

Fantastic experience: This is an amazing vet clinic that sincerely cares. They have cared for my greyhounds (which require special handling/anesthetics/surgery/knowledge) for over 7 years at this point . When I had to put my oldest grey down at the age of 13 at another clinic (emergency/after hours), they went *above and beyond* to send me a card signed from the entire staff. They didn't have to do that. Both times I have had to take my hounds to any other clinic, EDVC shared files and *followed up themselves* to ensure that my snouts got the best care regardless of timing or reason.

Fantastic experience: We have lived in Dallas for eleven years and been taking our dogs to this clinic during that time and can say with absolute confidence that every physician that we have dealt with has been of the highest caliber and exhibited the utmost compassion with both our pets and us. We are 85 and 75 and I can tell you that "bed-side" manner goes a long-way with the humans as well as the pets. Not only are the doctors outstanding, we have developed "first name" relationships with staff members who remember us and out pets. Not only is the medical care FIVE STAR, so are the boarding facilities. When special-needs pets require boarding, this is definitely the most trustworthy place to take them.

Negative experience: As a heartfelt warning to anyone who adores their pets, I urge you not to come here. My most recent experience left me feeling profoundly dismissed and undeniably angry, motivating me to seek out another vet for a second opinion. My cats behavior had had a noticeable change so we brought him in as quickly as we could. During a check of my cat's teeth, both the vet tech and the doctor completely overlooked something critical—my cat's gums were jaundice, a sign of liver failure, a detail my new vet recognized immediately. I typically avoid leaving negative reviews, but they truly missed the mark on something so serious, prolonging my cat’s pain and suffering. To add insult to injury, they hastily administered an unknown antibiotic that they had to give him twice, simply because they botched the first attempt. When I suggested running a urinalysis due to my cat's ongoing UTI issues, which I suspected might explain his sudden change in behavior, they dismissed my concerns, stating that the test was unnecessary because I could not confirm if that was the current issue. I believe that’s exactly why you conduct a urinalysis in the first place. While their lack of attention wouldn’t have saved my cat’s life, it certainly could have jumpstarted his treatment and improved the quality of his remaining time. In a way, I'm almost grateful that East Dallas Veterinary Clinic fell short, as it ultimately led me to a wonderful vet who made sure we received the genuine care we desperately needed. I truly hope whatever issues are affecting the new staff members get resolved for the sake of the animals and the loving families that still choose to come here. The recent surge in one-star reviews speaks volumes; don't waste your time or your money. Your pets absolutely deserve better treatment.

Negative experience: We have been using East Dallas vet for grooming about a year. The quality has continued to go down and finally to the point where I will be looking for new options. This is after multiple price increases and us asking them to make sure not to do certain things. Also, their front desk is extremely unorganized and continues to try give our dogs shot or take fecal samples after we have sent their medical records multiple times. Our actual vet is getting extremely frustrated as well.

Negative experience: we’ve been coming here for over a year now and we normally have wonderful experience here. today, not the case. I had an appt. to get my dog’s anal glands expressed at 4:30pm, had to wait an hour. please be professional and call and let me know it will take longer than normal for something like this, I had to call twice to let you guys know I was waiting outside. I understand you guys are busy but what is the point of having an appt when i have to remind you guys?

Negative experience: I've always had great care until today. I had a disagreement about the bill given to me. The clinic manager said I could speak with the doctor but then the doctor refused to see me as she was with another pet. I didn't mind and politely said I would wait. The manager then told me that the doctor would not be seeing me at any point today and that I should pay my bill and call later. I asked if anything could be refunded over the phone and was told no. When I asked why even suggest calling then, the manager replied "You right. There is no point. You going to have to pay your bill and there's nothing you can do about it." Would not recommend.

Negative experience: I had called Monday to make an appointment for my dog who was having an emergency and was told that I should take her to an urgent care vet because the doctors schedule was booked out for the day and week. I had put trust in this team only to be turned away in our hour of need and having to put my baby down that same day at the urgent care vet anyway. 7-10 minute hold times, and at least a week out for scheduling an appointment. This experience has left me looking for a new vet. The care was great, but it’s clear that their schedules will come before your pets needs, regardless if it’s life or death. Find a team that will say, “please, bring your pet in immediately”, not “our doctors don’t have time for your dog today, go somewhere else instead”. I don’t need to be contacted nor do I want to talk about this experience any further. It’s clear after the “owners” response, that this team definitely doesn’t have the best interest of your “pet” in mind. Luna wasn’t just a pet, she was my whole life for 10 years. Yes, your CCR didn’t say word for word “our doctors don’t have time for your dog today, go somewhere else instead”, but when you’re experiencing an emergency and the staff sounds annoyed with your call and frustrated that your asking for help because it towards the end of the work day, one can’t help but to feel like you’re being turned away and abandoned. I wouldn’t recommend this vet to anyone, not even my worst enemy.
Please accept our apologies for the experience you had at East Dallas Veterinary Clinic. Your feedback is valuable to us. We reviewed your call with our CCR and she did advise you that the Dr on the schedule that day was currently at lunch when you called until 5pm, once you identified your pets current state was not good our CCR advised you to go to urgent care for immediate attention since your pets health was not in good condition, you stated you would wait for the Dr. to return from lunch, so the CCR added you to our schedule to be seen by the Dr when she returned from lunch. At no time in the call did the CCR tell you our doctor did not have time to see your pet and to go somewhere else. We are sorry you feel like we were not there for you, and we are sorry you had to put down your pet.
Fantastic experience: EDVC is great. I've been taking my three pets there for the past few years and they always treat them with great care. I trust the doctors and staff completely and am happy to recommend them to anyone in the east Dallas area.

Negative experience: These people are terrible. We recently changed over because we thought they would be able to assist us in setting up a home-based meal plan for our dog. We provided this information prior to his first appointment. When we arrive, the only help they were able to give us was to look online or hire a pet nutritionist. Certainly seems like they could have provided this information on the phone. On our next visit, they were no more professional. We took our dog in because he had a growth on his side. While there, the vet assistant was unable to perform his job because of his fear of the dog barking. When the vet entered, My dog was also agitated and they required a muzzle. What kind of veterinarian muzzles a dog during an examination ? Then, when I told them I didn't need a written prescription, they sent it in to their pharmacy. Instead. When we called to get a written prescription because we did not want to use our pharmacy, they refused. The unprofessionalism at this place is astounding. They do not care for animals whatsoever.
Negative experience: I’ve been going to this vet for about 5 years and they just keep getting more and more inconvenient. Every time I call, I’m placed on hold for at least 20 minutes. I typically order my prescriptions online and now suddenly they “don’t fill online orders anymore because it’s easier for them to give out written prescriptions.” …. So instead of progressing with the 21st century, they are regressing back to before technology. Now when I need to order medication, I’ll have to call them, wait on hold for 20ish minutes, then wait to get a written script mailed to me instead of them being able to do it online with two clicks of their computer. The other excuse was “we don’t have enough staff for that.” Sounds like you should hire more front staff.

Negative experience: This is the worst place to take your dog, horrible service; bad bad employees’ attitude specially front desk. They look frustrated and like they’re just there working to get a check not because they love animals. This was my first time in there waited 2 hours and eventually I left the place cause they brought me to the room saying the doctor would be there shortly. “Shortly” never arrived there. This is just an unprofessional place. I would never recommend this vet to any person.
On Saturdays we have a walk in clinic to better serve the community, that want to see our doctors but cant make an appointment during the week. On Saturdays there is a longer wait than usual because we do not know the cases we will be treating until the clients arrive. We are a very professional organization that puts the pets health first. Fantastic experience: We having been taking our cats to East Dallas Veterinary Clinic for almost 8 years. Dr. Virginia Ellsworth is hands down the best vet we have been to. She is caring, knowledgable, VERY GOOD with my cats. She has done bladder surgeries on two different cats, treated another cat for high blood pressure, done annual check ups and shots for all my cats, gives GREAT advice, and very kindly euthanized my two almost 20 year old cats. They would not have lived as long without her care. I cannot state enough kid things about Dr. Ellsworth and her practice. She was also kind enough to think of us when she was given a litter of two week old kittens and knew that we'd take the orange male. All of the staff is very friendly and professional. Dr. Blair is also very good. She very attentive and kind. She was also reassuring when on of my cats was recently ill. I have and will continue to share my good fortune of having them in my neighborhood. They are quite active in the community. The prices they charge are fair and comperable to other vet clinics. You cannot go wrong with East Dallas Vet Clinic.
Fantastic experience: The staff and doctors at EDVC are wonderful, dr. Ellsworth cares a lot about the well being of her pet patients and she explains all important points in pet care and listens with attention all pet owner’s concerns and answer all questions. They are the best vet clinic in Dallas, TX. I will go to them for any future vet visits with my pets. EDVC offers medical care and grooming for my dogs.

Negative experience: This clinic has gone downhill in recent years, long hold times on the phone, long wait times to make an appointment, and even longer wait times when you come for the appointment. I had an auto-ship order from Chewy that they declined, after getting on the phone with someone from the clinic they told me I needed to get another medication "to be on the safe side" and I made sure to clarify what I should order. An hour later I placed the order for the prescription meds I was was advised to Chewy , only to get an email from Chewy later that day that my vet declined the order again. I immediately called the office, was on hold for over 30 minutes, and the person who answered told me my order will be coming straight from their pharmacy instead of Chewy. I don't know if this is their way to get business from Chewy, because when I asked why I can't get the meds from Chewy the person had no answer. She said she was going to check, and I asked if I have to place the order to Chewy yet again (for the third time now), and she also said she didn't know. I said I didn't want to call again given I had already been on two calls with their office in one day with very long wait times (with no option to get a call back), and her response is that "It's a Monday and I have 8 people on hold". It's not my problem that you don't have the appropriate number of staff to man your operations. If you can't scale, stop accepting new patients/customers. Your poor business management and operations is severely impacting the quality of care.

Fantastic experience: The service of all staff members and veterinarians has always been fantastic. I have adopted three very sweet kitties throughout the years. Very busy on Saturday, but you are never rushed. Very courteous front office staff and knowledgeable vet techs and assistants. Their boarding facility is top notch so your fur baby will get the best of care while you are away. You can even pick up on Sunday if you make arrangements. Highly recommend EDVC!

Fantastic experience: Our mini Aussie saw Dr.Ellsworth 2 days ago for the first time. She was kind, patient and did a very thorough assessment. Fantastic experience: I moved my dog's care over to EDV from another big Dallas vet clinic due to poor communication and care from our previous vet. Fantastic experience: I love this place! Everyone is so nice and you truly feel like family. I have been bringing my dogs and cats here for 20+ years and I recommend them to everyone (to include grooming). I moved 30-40 minutes away and I drive in. The peace of mind for my pet’s health is so worth it. Dr. Ellsworth and Dr. Mueller take the time to get to know you and really explain what is going on with your pet. Truly the best vet! Positive experience: had to get my dog checked out as soon as i could for a skin condition he had and luckily this vet took walk ins on saturdays. the process was pretty easy to get checked in and the wait wasn’t too long. the lady with bleached grey (?) hair and fake lashes at the receptionist was one of the most weird and unprofessional receptionist i’ve ever seen. she kept getting my dogs name wrong even though i had already told her how it’s pronounced as well as getting my name completely wrong too. i also had to end up driving back to the clinic because they gave me the wrong medicine, the only reason i noticed was because i was reading the labels on it. while i was returning it i decided to ask for a refund on it completely as i found it a lot cheaper on chewy and when i asked for the refund the same lady at the receptionist kept making passive aggressive comments as if i was annoying her and even thought i had kept the medicine i was trying to return. honestly this vet clinic isn’t as expensive compared to others and the veterinarian was super sweet and explained everything very well it just sucks that some of the staff in the front is a little weird and seems to not care about the people walking in much less the animals.

Fantastic experience: My cat had been vomiting and acting very lethargic. I had taken him to another vet previously, but I felt like that vet had not done a thorough exam, and I left the previous vet’s appointment with a hefty bill and no answers or solutions. However, everyone at EDVC was kind, communicative, and actually cared about getting my baby better. I left the EDVC appointment feeling optimistic and relieved. Not only that, but the pricing was better than the previous vet too. He is doing much better thanks to Dr. Martin and the EDVC team because they covered all the most likely issues and he is back to his normal self!

Negative experience: Our experience and customer service has dwindled since our initial visit almost a year ago. We were moving in the area so changed our vet care for both our dogs. Our first visit was great, but during that appointment we asked about a bump on our dogs lip. The vet told us oh it’s nothing to worry about, but if you want to get it removed you can. Fast forward, we’ve been in for grooming sessions, other visits, etc. There is a huge downfall in customer service, a lot of the times the phones don’t work. When we do talk to the front desk the customer service isn’t always great; the staff makes you feel like you’re bothering them when in reality we don’t want to be on the phone any longer than you. Now the final straw was just recently the bump that was on our dogs lip from the first appt grew within a short time span. We got it removed and it came back cancerous. We were recommended to an oncologist which we appreciate, but when we called back following that to ask additional questions or even referrals and to speak to our dogs vet, we never got a call of follow up. We had to call back to see if she was able to answer our question and the front desk staff relayed a message to us that the vet was uncomfortable…. Needless to say that was VERY off putting, and our final straw. We did our own research and found an awesome vet that will work closely to the oncologist!! The customer service has been a dramatic change from constant communication, empathy, and care. If you want someone to really hear you and go the extra mile with your fur babies this may not be the location. This is better fit for quick exams and vaccinations.

Negative experience: Do not go to this vet if you care about an intentional experience with a vet. They are a decent budget vet, but expect inconsistent custom service and undelivered promised. I took my senior dog for his annual visit and had a less than satisfactory experience. I paid 190 dollars for his vaccines, some medicine for his paws, and for a 3-5 minute conversation with the vet. When I expressed my concern regarding the quick "annual physical," instead of really listening to me and my concerns, my experience was challenged. The front desk wanted to see how my story measured up against the vet tech who was new instead of just wanting to just remedy my experience. I was made so uncomfortable that I simply paid and left - planning to just find a new vet who could provide me a better experience. The following week, someone called to see if my questions had been answered - not even calling to address the issues at my visit. Instead, only when I told them that I was looking for another vet was my concern addressed. I was promised that the head vet would call me within a few days to address my questions. Did I get a call? No. I got an email that looked like some tech just rewrote what the vet verbalized to write. Nothing was personalized, my experience was not addressed, and instead I was yet again not given the opportunity to have an meaningful conversation with a vet.

Fantastic experience: Just picked my 4 month old Yorkie up from her first grooming/hair cut. Wonderful job. She looks great. I recommend Cat for grooming your fur baby. I also use East Dallas Veterinary for her health. They are all terrific.

Fantastic experience: What a BEAUTIFUL TEAM at East Dallas Vet!! Dr. Gibbs and Chelsie were amazingly helpful, informative and just really nice to speak to about our dog. She had her some dental work done, as new pet parents we were pretty nervous about everything, The dog , and how she might handle the whole experience, the bill and over all trust in who we left our dog with….. every Team member there was polite, helpful and courteous. Fantastic experience: We brought our rescued guinea pig in for a wellness check. The staff and doctor were wonderful ! -- from making an appointment, to checking in, and to speaking with the vet. We had lots of questions since we had never owned a guinea pig before (we are mostly dog people). The doctor answered all of our questions and more! Our Pickles was thoroughly checked out, nails clipped, and medicine prescribed. Great prices too! I recommend East Dallas Vet Clinic to anyone with a small pet! Thanks everyone!
Fantastic experience: Everyone is super friendly. Prices are reasonable. They sent me reassuring photos of my kitten before and after his neuter surgery. No other vet has ever done that for me! Definitely the place to go for all your pet care! They have boarding and grooming as well!

Negative experience: Poor customer service for years. The front desk management is incredibly rude. The vet who owns the clinic is excellent, but the overall management of the clinic is awful. There are better options. I only continued bringing my pet here because of a friend’s initial recommendation.
Negative experience: Called ahead to see if this place could do an ear wash on my dog who might have an ear infection. Was told they had an opening at 930am or 1030am. I showed up at 940am. Was I a bit late? Yes. Did I deserve to be treated so rudely by a 16yr old receptionist? No. This insanely rude high-school girl tells me she canceled my appointment when it was 930am and I wasn't there. Wow. I feel sorry for all her friends and family. I will gladly pay more for better customer service at a different vet clinic. I suggest anyone who reads this to do the same.
Fantastic experience: Scheduling was a breeze! Judy took my call and set me up with an appointment. It’s a nice, cozy clinic for all pets. Staff members are really nice and helpful! They show such joy to each and everyone of their patients. Doctor answered all my questions and concerns. Definitely sticking with them for all my dog Saturns needs!
Fantastic experience: I love this office. The ladies are always so helpful, understanding and know when a matter needs to be addressed right away. I now live in Irving but still drive to Dallas for my 2 dogs to see the Dr I trust them with.
Negative experience: My dog was hurt and traumatized. Avoid this veterinary clinic completely. I took my dog to get his yearly shots and physical exam in February 2023 for the first time to this clinic because it’s closer to where I moved to. The vet called me later on in the day to say his bile acids were high and that I needed to bring him back for blood work. I took him back for blood work and was given antibiotics and that I needed to take him back for another round of blood work and a bile acid test. I took him again on 3/6/2023 and was told by the staff and technician that the doctor would call me again the same day to explain the results. Additionally, I was told this would take 2 hours. I dropped him off at 8am, and because I called several times throughout the day after the 2 hours had passed (since they never called me to let me know he was ready to be picked up), ended up up picking him up at 5pm. They wanted to charge me an additional exam fee for a yearly physical even though they had already done it in February 2023. When we got home, I noticed my dog would not eat which is very strange since he loves to eat, his mouth was sore and he was crying. I later found out because I called and asked that he had been force fed. No prior veterinary clinic has had to do this or told me that my dog is aggressive. My husband then noticed that my dogs nose was cracked and bruised as you can see in the photos attached. He was hurt badly by someone at the clinic. The vet never called on Monday 3/6/2023 to explain the results. So I called the office and was told several times that the doctor would call. I called again on Tuesday 3/7/2023 and Wednesday 3/8/2023 and was told that the same thing, that the vet would call me. By Thursday 3/9/2023, I had finally reached the end of my patience and called to request that my payment of $223.00 dollars be refunded due to the lack of communication, poor service, animal abuse, and misdiagnosis. The vet finally called me back on 3/9/2023 at 7:46pm and told me that she does not call to explain results or talk to her clients unless it’s something bad. Which means that the original diagnosis was a complete lie to get me to pay more money for tests my dog did not need. Why does the office staff and technicians tell their clients that the doctor will call them if this is a lie? The vet also denied refunding my payment. No other clinic has ever treated me this way or said that they don’t call to explain results. Imagine if your family doctor told you that you needed to get an exam and then gave you the results for you to figure out on your own, when they are the professionals that are supposed to explain them, good or bad. Please do not take your beloved pets here.
Fantastic experience: We took my dog here on a Saturday morning for a small lump we were concerned about. They allowed us to walk in and took their time making sure that my dog was healthy and updated with all the most recent shots. They were all so sweet at this clinic and definitely deserve recognition for their hard work and kindness. Thank you to all the ladies we interacted with and that worked so hard to get us in and see our baby. I highly recommend you take your pets here for their medical needs! They definitely made me feel super comfortable and at ease.

Fantastic experience: I’m starting to use this clinic after my vet of 13 years sold his practice. I really like the staff. I’m in shock of how affordable they are. I’m used to paying $70 for cytopoint injections. The shot was $35 here. X-rays were $200 at my old clinic and they are $120ish here. I have used Dr. Martin twice so far and I really like her! I also like that this clinic has a calm vibe. It’s quiet. The noisier clinics seem to make my dog more scared!
Fantastic experience: I take pet ownership seriously and my pets have been cared for by some of the best veterinary clinics in Dallas. This was my opinion before I met Dr. Virginia Ellsworth at East Dallas Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Ellsworth and the clinic are by far the best in Dallas. The attention, the care, and the veterinary knowledge you and your pet receive by her and the staff are a cut above. East Dallas Veterinary Clinic is 10 miles from where I live, but it could be 25 miles away, it is the only place I will take my pet. I highly recommend anyone who wants the best treatment for their pets to go here. The Dallas community is fortunate to have such a great veterinary clinic and an outstanding veterinarian as Dr. Ellsworth, available for our beloved four-legged companions.
Fantastic experience: The staff here is FANTASTIC! I came in on a Saturday (walk-ins only) and while waiting they offered everyone water and when I developed a headache they offered me relief as well. In addition the doctor was thorough and patient with all my questions concerning my cat. I have been a loyal customer and recommended them to everyone I can!
Fantastic experience: Awesome clinic, staff is very helpful and caring. I’ve been taking my dog there for about 2 years and I love the service so much that I drive from Arlington. Although I had a bad experience with doctor Wiest, she was very rude and handled my puppy very poorly. She had an attitude the whole time and was inpatient with my dog. She was grossed out and made small comments about him. Overall I 100% recommend this facility just don’t go to her!

Negative experience: I requested records to be sent to my Vet after the clinic had requested them the day before. Although she did email the paperwork to my Vet after the 2nd request on the second day, JULIE did not send me a copy as she said she would do for my Mother's records. I wouldn't use these people even as a last resort. Your word should be your bond. If I can't trust you with paperwork, how would I trust you with my pets? You could AND should have done better.
Thank you for your review, we are sad to hear you are unhappy with the service we provided. Please note Texas law 573.54 states that veterinarians have 15 days to provide requested medical records. At EDVC we strive to turn the requests around in 24 hours and sometimes even faster depending on the type of case and the number of staff to attend to the task for that day. Unfortunately we were not fully staffed when your request came in so it was not processed until that 2nd day.
Fantastic experience: They know me as Amber, but this was my first visit to this clinic and I will be coming back from now on! This is the first place that actually gave us a break down on cost for treatment, and worked around our budget, which wasn't a lot but they cared for my dog Bailey very well! Bri was super kind and easy to work with along with the rest of the staff, and she even clipped Bailey's nails for free! My husband and I are both disabled so we struggle to cut them on our own, this was a huge and kind gesture! This is the best vet to visit!
Fantastic experience: Dr. Ellsworth and Dr. Mueller have both taken wonderful care of our dogs for years now. All the staff and techs are friendly and professional and good with the dogs. We've had some fearful dogs and they knew just how to handle it.
Fantastic experience: East Dallas Vet Clinic took great care of my cat Dolly as a new patient- the pricing was very reasonable and the team even followed up with a handwritten card after our visit! Walk ins are available on Saturday which is very helpful. I will definitely be returning with Dolly and my other cat.

Positive experience: Staff was very friendly. I brought my aging sick cat to them thinking it was time to put her down. Instead i was encouraged and spent almost a whole paycheck. She came back home worse and died 48 hours later right in front of me. Traumatized and jus wish they would have been honest and put her down peacefully. Rest in peace Gizmo!

This was my first visit and will undoubtedly be the first place I return monthly for my dog’s preventative treatment.
Fantastic experience: They made me and my pet feel welcome right away. There was no waiting in the car until someone came to get us but as soon as we checked in we were shown to an exam room. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the doctor thoroughly explained what the problem was and how best to treat it. They also called later to check on my pet to see how he was doing and if the meds were having any adverse effects. The care and concern was awesome. I am very pleased.

Fantastic experience: We’ve been coming to East Dallas veterinary clinic for 3 years now. They’ve been great and super professional with both our dogs Zeke and Jelly Belly. Despite Jelly not being the nicest to others at the clinic they’ve been calm, understanding and patient with her. Zeke is super outgoing and loves people and does look forward to his vet checkups or going overall. Fantastic experience: Not sure it could have been more pleasant! They helped me understand and spoke to me in a way that I understood. They didn't assume I knew everything, and not having the same knowledge it's nice to know they are willing to break it down and help me understand. The staff is so sweet and helpful. I called in short notice and they did everything they could to get me in asap. Once I got there, I was quickly in a room with my pet. They had a lot on their plate with my 8yr old husky as we have been battling respiratory issues since he started heartworm treatment. Everything they decided to do was explained and they told me why. All questions were answered and there was no frustration from the staff even though I was overbearing in some ways with all my questions. Thank you so much for the help with my baby, and I'm so happy I found this clinic! ❤

Negative experience: I called to set up an appointment for my new puppy but the phone disconnected (I think I called too early for their liking so they declined the call). I called back again and a woman answered and said hello in the most annoyed and rude tone. I proceeded to try to say that I needed to set up an appointment but before I could finish what I was saying she hung up on me. I have never experienced this kind of disrespectful behavior from a clinic before. I will be taking my puppy elsewhere and I recommend others do the same because they obviously don't care.

Fantastic experience: I wasn't able to make the appointment so my fiance had to bring my dog, Bella. It was our first time and they were so nice. I greatly appreciate them allowing him to bring her cause most places would have made it an issue since it was my name on the information and appointment but they instantly greeted him and her with smiles and welcomed them back to the room. Overall was a nice experience and I appreciate the kindness they showed Bella. We will be back in the future.
Negative experience: Short form: Get your pets out of this clinic. 10 months after my 1st glowing review below, here is my loooong UPDATE: Front desk staff and most techs are either poorly trained, or inept. I would take a dog or cat in for a visit - and the tech has the wrong pet file in her hands more than one time. When 4 of my dogs required dental surgery - they had two dogs mixed up. The dogs were literally in the back, ready for surgery... I caught it in time by insisting they re-check. Gut feeling Dr. Gibbs had two confused. I still stayed with EDVC. I had 6 dogs. One puppy tested positive for worms. ALL the pets were in my file. Dr. Gibbs gave me treatment for that 1 puppy. I had to ask if it made sense to de-worm all the pets since they played in same yard. He agreed... but why didn't he suggest it? I still stayed at EDVC. They released my pet files to a trainer who called - without checking with me first. I stll stayed at EDVC. Fran - the office manager - blames the customer, period. Yes, I lost my temper with a vet practice that - repeatedly - has the wrong paperwork for the wrong pet, puts calls on hold regularly for 10-20 minutes, and charges for meds I declined. Rarely saw same vet twice. It did NOT start out that way, as you can see from my earlier review. 3 of my 4 dogs passed away of old age - the EDVC new Puppy/Kitten packages automatically include a $38 charge for 1 month of flea/heartworm treatment.....even when I asked that they NOT do it. I use a different brand at a much lower price. It's in my file and EDVC authorizes the refills. They sent it home charged me for it in the office anyway. $38 v. $17 online. New puppy/kitten package includes shots pets may be missing and flea/heartworm med. I have purebred animals. I bring them straight from breeder - requires by breeder to address congenital issues. I asked every time about blood, urine testing and they declined. No need, they said, unless a pet had symptoms. Took purebred kittens yesterday to East Lake Cat Center.... the finest vet and facility I've ever seen. They offered the exact testing I'd always wanted. They caught a couple of things in blood/urine EDVC wouldn't test for. EDVC had misdiagnosed one kitten and given wrong meds. By the time I finished those meds and went to East Lake Cat Center, the sweet kitten was so much worse. She is now obviously better with proper treatment. Getting records - urgent because I needed to board them - took over a week because they kept sending incomplete records. I'd left phone message for Fran - not returned for many days. She excused delay by saying, "I have a business to run." Well, she's doing a poor job of running that business. I had the same vet for almost 17 years in Plano without even 1 incident. 3 clients I know of + me have left in the past 3 months. One had been EDVC client for MANY years. +++++++++++++++++++++++ 10 months ago 2020, this was my review along with 5 stars: Dr. Gibbs is the vet I've dealt with most, and the staff have been organized and easy to deal with - they've taken excellent care of my many dogs through a few twists and turns. I recommend.

Fantastic experience: Very nice staff. They helped me scan the lost pup I found for its chip. Unfortunately, the puppy didn't have a chip, but the staff was informative and let me know about Parvus being rampant in pups currently and about the recommended vaccination schedule. They were super nice and informative.
Negative experience: First of all, I took my 10 YO baby to visit them about a year ago during the pandemic lockdown. I only spoke with the vet tech as I was not allowed inside. They gave her a diagnosis of bone cancer (ex-rays) and sent her home with 3 months of pain control and a round of antibiotics. They gave her 3-5 months to live and suggested amputation of her limb to extend her life. She is still with me almost a year later and is doing as good as her age allows. I just feel they did not do enough to do a proper diagnosis. The tech I spoke with, however, was very kind and understanding. I would not take a pet there again though due to the wrong diagnosis. Just my experience...best to all pet parents.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely the very best. Dr. Ellsworth is a caring, thorough, and diligent veterinarian. Her staff is equally sensitive to the needs of the patients. I am so fortunate to have Boomer and Oskar as her patients. We wouldn't go anywhere else!
Fantastic experience: I wouldn’t change a thing. I’ve been with you guys for almost a decade. I moved out of town 6 years ago and still come to EDV. I couldn’t imagine trusting anywhere else. I’m loving the Pet Desk app and that it was pre-populated with my babies’ info. Highly recommended!
Negative experience: Sadly, I must agree with one of the other poor ratings left by another person recently. I have taken my four pets to East Dallas Vet Clinic for 7 years. They used to be great... a still small-ish vet clinic with an attentive staff, competent doctors, and outstanding customer service. They have now outgrown themselves. Since replacing nearly all of their former admin staff and hiring a horrible Office Manager (Fran), they now seem to no longer care about customer service, keeping clients happy, or providing quality care. Instead, they want to get you in & out and most of all they want to hear those cash registers ring... even if it means resorting to dishonest and unscrupulous tactics. On my last visit (and I do mean my VERY LAST VISIT) I called Fran out for misleading me and charging me for a service I never requested, needed, or agreed to, and she became argumentative and combative, told me I was wrong and that it was my fault, never offered an apology, then when I informed her I would not be returning as a client her response was one of That's fine, we don't need you here anyway! So much for valuing your clients. At this point, I would not recommend this vet clinic to anyone.
Fantastic experience: I totally trust the doctors at East Dallas Vet Clinic. We have been clients there for 5 years and they take great care of our cats and dogs. When I needed paperwork to take my dachshund abroad to Israel, they helped me meet all the requirements. They have always shown an interest in meeting our vet needs and do it well.
Negative experience: Sadly, after years of coming to East Dallas Veterinary Clinic, we won’t be returning. Our past 4 visits have been really disappointing and troubling to be honest. Not once, but twice we showed up with our 3 dogs for their grooming appointments and were told UPON ARRIVAL that for some reason, the groomer wasn’t going to make it in that day. Our most recent visit was the worst of all... they had all 3 dogs from 7:45 am to 6:00pm for grooming and vaccinations. Our tiny 3 pound yorkie was returned to us limping and not being able to stand and also so lethargic, he was barely able to hold his head up. One of the other dogs was so terrified, she wouldn’t even let us touch her and kept biting us if we tried. We called them first thing the next morning as we were very concerned about the condition of the dogs and did not hear back from anybody until after 4:00 pm. We do not feel as though the current staff and management is professional or knowledgeable when it comes to caring for our animals. They are, however, very knowledgeable when it comes to up selling a service.
Fantastic experience: My experience was great! The entire team was so professional from the phone call to final checkout. I felt like they really cared about my feelings as a pet owner and my pet. Dr. Ellsworth was amazing so kind and knowledgeable. I recommend this for all pet owners.
