Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is open 24 hours a day to serve Greenville and the surrounding Dallas, TX area! We provide emergency veterinary medical services for dogs, cats, reptiles, and exotic pets 7 days a week, even on holidays. Call us and a veterinarian will answer your questions. Come in whenever you have an animal, avian, or exotic animal emergency. Located near the intersection of N. Central Expressway and Willis Ave., come in if your pet is vomiting, has an accident, needs treatment for poisoning ingestion, or any other emergency or urgent care need. Fantastic experience: They saved my dog again! I can’t say thank you enough. Every time I took my dog there he was in great pain and I was so worried and didn’t know what was wrong. Fantastic experience: Had to take my fur baby to vet emergency which is unfortunate, however the VEG ER Team is amazing. We called ahead to let them know what our pet was experiencing and as we walked in, the team was right on it. Alberto and Dr. Jackie were so thoughtful through each step of the process, addressing all of our concerns. Nobody wants to ever have to take the fur baby to emergency. Fantastic experience: This was dramatically different than any other emergency vet I’ve experienced in a great way! Fantastic experience: The staff is fantastic, everybody was very sweet with our dog. He’s actually a friend’s dog we’re watching. The little bugger ate what we thought was a sock. They did an X Ray and saw it was still in the stomach. So they induced vomiting and saved us from a very costly obstruction surgery! Turns out it was 4 socks…

Fantastic experience: I have in detail described this experience and for whatever reason it is not showing up. EXCELLENT, kind, patient, immediate care from Angelina, Dr Marissa, Alberto and Dr Watson. They even set up a room with a cot so that I could spend the night and be close to Jack if any decisions needed to be made on the spot. Fantastic experience: I've had to take my male cat here twice, and both times the staff has been efficient, kind, and professional. One was at 9pm on a Friday and the other was 10am on a Saturday, so completely different staff, but there was no difference in the care received. They talked through the entire care plan with me and gave me all the information I need to make an informed decision. When my cat needed a possible operation and the cost at VEG was a little out of my budget, they did not hesitate to refer me to a different clinic that would be a little cheaper and they even called the clinic and gave them records to facilitate the transfer. I would recommend anyone to bring their pets here in an emergency - the staff will give them the best care.

Fantastic experience: My cat had eaten something she shouldn't have, so I called the vet, and they were able to send me check in form I could do before I got there. Once I got there, I got taken to a room right away, and they gave me a button to press in case there was an emergency while they were out of a room, which I really liked. They were super busy that day, but they made sure to check on me throughout my visit. Everyone who worked with my cat was amazing and super kind! Dr. Watson and Gyanna were great and kind in a scary situation. This was my first time having to go to the ER for my cat, and I'm super grateful they were there to help her out!

Negative experience: If you love your pet, don't go to this place: I went to the Veg emergency veterinary clinic with my dog. They admitted her because she was pregnant, and I thought her puppies were trapped. They told me the exam cost $190, and I agreed. After examining her, they told me the puppies had died and asked if I wanted to prioritize the mother. I said yes. They told me the procedure would cost approximately $6,000. I told them I didn't have that amount of money. They asked how much I had, and I said $2,000. They said yes, they could do the procedure for $2,000. They told me to come in and pay the $2,000, which included the entire procedure to save my dog's life. Then they saw my credit card showed I had $20,000 available and told me I had the money to pay for the surgery at the full price. I said, "But they told me they were going to charge me $2,000, and they said that if I wanted to save my dog, I had to pay $6,000, which I refused. It turns out my dog was able to give birth to her three healthy puppies, not dead as they said. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE."

Fantastic experience: I went in at 3am panicking, and I cannot describe how much I am thankful for the whole team. As they were friendly, calm, and professional throughout me and my cat’s time there. Emily, I am mad at myself for not catching her last name but what a blessing it was to have her there. All throughout she was helping inform me about my cat’s problem and making light of the whole situation with her energy. Honestly though the whole team that was there from 3am-5am 2/18/26 really really had great energy and were welcoming too. It made me cry tears of joy leaving because I truly thought my cat was going to die on my way to the vet, only for him to be diagnosed with asthma, which is still a serious condition, but it’s like their energy helped everything.

Fantastic experience: The visit to VEG was awesome. It was unlike anything I've experienced before. Upon arrival I was greeted and brought back to the exam room. Dr Marissa and team began evaluating Molly immediately. I was able to be present for all of it, and was constantly advised and explained by Dr Marissa what she was doing and why. Molly and I felt seen and safe - in good hands. The atmosphere was clean and calm, the staff was kind and friendly, and the service was excellent! And the cost of service was very reasonable. I didn't feel taken advantage of simply because I'm in the ER at 3am. Hopefully Molly will never need another ER visit, but if she does I will always return to VEG. And will recommend VEG to all my friends.

Negative experience: I try to not leave bad reviews but my experience was so poor here, first of all at an Emergency vet where many people will be carrying in an ill dog, I think it would be wis e to have automatic doors or at least a receptionist that can get up to help open the door. Also, the open concept is horrible, a dog was howling in pain and it smelled absolutely horrible. I think most dogs would be extremely anxious in this setting. Lastly all this felt like such a money grab the entire time, packing on more and more services. Wanting blood tests that my primary care vet had already sent over, an X ray that didn't help determine the diagnosis, and an IV that I watched the Vet tech open up with his mouth.. So disgusting. After charging me over a thousand and wanting to charge me thousands more they told me I am better off going to Med Vet. Go straight to Medvet, this is where they will tell you to to when they know they can't handle your animals issues. Also Veg, please don't respond to my review. Your fake AI responses are insulting.

Fantastic experience: We’ve unfortunately have needed emergency vet care more frequently as our pets age and VEG is the only place we go. They are truly amazing humans and take great care in how they treat your furry baby. Their pricing is very transparent and they have so many options to make sure you get the best care at an amount that you can afford. I’ve been so impressed with the level of attention received and how detailed they are in assessing a care plan. One note for those who are sensitive to medical procedures or medical environments: this is a working pet hospital and works like a human emergency room. I have witnessed some pretty intense moments while in the triage area but they are very accommodating and super kind to move you to a private room if you request one. Truly grateful for the care and assurance we get at VEG!

Fantastic experience: My dog happened to eat 5 chocolates while my boyfriend and I were out late. Dr. Nealy and Alberto had her vomiting and then stable within the hour! Minimal wait time at 9pm and staff were SO understanding and helpful. I have no notes!
Fantastic experience: We are grateful for the kind, efficient and reassuring care we received at VEG. Dr. Neely was very thorough and sensitive to our dog’s needs. The medical assistant who helped us, Alberto, was so kind and helpful. He went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and he even administered our dog’s take home medication for us before we left since we were not comfortable and this is our first puppy. We so appreciate the care and reassurance we received from VEG, Dr. Neely and Alberto.
Fantastic experience: If you have a pet the ER is the last place you want want to end up in. Unfortunately that's what happened to me and my sweet little dog. I wasn't able to get seen by her regular vet and the pet ER close to me wasn't accepting patience after 2am. That's when I found VEG. I called ahead, let them know my dog was having breathing problems and as soon as I arrived a team of professionals greeted me instantly at the door. They wasted her away making sure that she was still wrapped in her blanket for comfort. I new the outcome would not be a good one. My dog was experiencing cardiac arrest. She's was an older girl with a history of heart issue. The team was so kind and so attentive to her needs and my own as we prepared to her to say good bye. I was in the receiving with them while they tending to her. I loved that I was kept informed throughout the entire process. When the decision was finally made to give her a peaceful death, I wasn't rushed and was given plenty of space and time to relfect and just be alone with my baby one last time. The main doctor on the team checked on me and before i left she gave me a hug and the kindest of words that could have been said in a moment like that. I was even checked on before driving off to make sure I was okay. It's nice to have real human connection in a world that often feels so disconnected. This wasn't my first experience losing a pet but the experience I had with this team will stay with me for a long time. Thank you! I wish I could remember everyone's name. Sorry for any typos. Im holding back tears as I type this.
Negative experience: Brought my dog in 11/22/25 for a near drowning and respiratory issues. They took X-rays and saw some fluid in his left lung. Had the option of paying 10k to watch him for 2 days or put him to sleep. Im not a vet but I didnt think putting him down was necessary for some shallow breaths, despite one of the vet techs (cant remember her name) repeatedly telling me he would suffer and die before the next morning. She was very adamant I put the dog down. I spent hundreds on meds he didnt need/take as a last hope. Despite her repeatedly telling me he would die within a few hours, he survived the night and I took him to Arista the next morning. They also took x-rays and saw the fluid in his lung, but informed me that with time and rest he would be totally fine, and my little buddy is still alive to this day. I seriously considered putting him to sleep that first night due to bad advice but something told me to seek a second opinion. There’s no telling how many people’s fur babies have been unnecessarily put down in this facility.
We are very relieved to hear that your dog is doing well. A near-drowning event is incredibly frightening, and we understand how emotional and overwhelming those moments can be.
When pets present after a near drowning, there can be serious and sometimes rapidly progressive complications, including worsening respiratory distress due to fluid in the lungs. In emergency medicine, our responsibility is to discuss all potential outcomes — including best-case, guarded, and worst-case scenarios — so that pet parents can make informed decisions in real time. These recommendations are always based on the patient’s condition at the time of evaluation.
Euthanasia is never something we suggest lightly. It is only discussed when there are significant medical concerns and potential for suffering. Our intention is always to advocate for the pet’s welfare while being transparent about possible risks.

Fantastic experience: Yesterday my dog was having difficulty breathing so we took her here in the evening. They brought her in right away and started checking her. Sadly her condition worsened rapidly and we had to put her down. The doctor and vet techs were so attentive and informative throughout the whole process. I was a total emotional mess but the staff were understanding and comforting. They provided a private room for us to say our goodbyes and gave us a bell to ring when we’re ready. Shoutout to Tonya and Alberto for your help yesterday (forgive me I can’t recall the vet’s name). Thank you all so much for the comfort you gave us in the last moment with our baby Moe Moe.

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately we had to visit 3 vets in less than a week. VEG ER was #2. It was in the midst of an ice storm and staff had to stay because there was no one coming in to relieve them but despite being exhausted, everyone was so kind and caring! Our 5 year old dog was SUPER sick with Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura and acute renal failure with a rip roaring infection somewhere in her body. The ER vet was able to stabilize her and get her transferred to MedVet. As a human doctor, I know how hard being a vet is. It's like neonatal pediatrics because the patient can't tell you what's going on. It's been our second visit to VEG ER, the last time was a guinea pig. Both times they've been exceptional.

Fantastic experience: I brought my frenchie in as he was having seizures for the first time and ended up spending two nights in a row here and they kept him overnight the second night. Dealt with 3 different vets over the 2 days and all three were amazing, so kind, never felt rushed, very thorough and detailed, and gave me plenty of text updates throughout the night during the overnight stay. I would 1000% come back here and recommend them for any emergency services!

Fantastic experience: My 16.5 year old male cat had to come in for a urinary blockage and I can't begin to explain how much I appreciated the staff here. When I arrived on Friday at 630pm, the blockage was still pretty early so the Vet gave us a room, some calming medicine, and several hours to hopefully allow him to go on his own. After 6 hours of him not, she eventually escalated him to getting a catheter and he was fully in their care from 3am Saturday until 3pm Sunday. I was able to watch them put in the catheter and they ensured to me that they would use as little amount of sedation as possible as he had been put under earlier in the day for a dental exam elsewhere. They allowed me to visit him for several hours each day and were always very calm and kind to me when I was there. I appreciated them for their care of my cat and also for being mindful of costs by not pushing him to a catheter until it was necessary and once he was stable for long enough, letting him be discharged 12 hours earlier than planned. Vet ERs are not a cheap place at all and so for them to be mindful of costs and not doing more than is necessary was amazing.

Fantastic experience: Our dog ate a rat/mouse poison bait block, upon arrival the staff had us call the ASPCA Poison emergency center to get information related to the type and amount of poison. While it seemed like a diversion at the time, my pet wasn’t showing any issues, but we didn’t know what to do or how serious this event was, upon calling and getting their consultation it was determined based on her weight and the toxin in the block that there was very low probability of any harm, so that was such a relief and I believe while in the moment it felt like a frustration to our need, but it was the right thing to do and I greatly appreciated and understood why that was the best choice. In the end there was no major issue. I’m glad the staff advised us to call poison control and get the facts on the toxin and knowing it was not an issue before doing anything at the ER without the proper information and pain or discomfort that may have been caused to our dog for no reason.

Negative experience: I don’t even know how to write this without crying, but people deserve to know what our experience was like. We brought our dog Charlie in during an emergency after days of cluster seizures and months of decline. He had gone from about 15 pounds to under 5 because he stopped eating. He’d been crying in pain. His quality of life was gone. We weren’t being dramatic pet owners, we were watching him suffer and trying to do the humane thing. They barely looked at him and said he was “fine.” He wasn’t fine. Anyone with eyes could see that. We’ve been through the same neurological issue with his mom and brother. We knew what was coming. Making the decision to put him to sleep was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but he didn’t deserve to keep hurting. What I’ll never forget is how cold the whole process felt. When they put the IV in, they were rough with him. He was yelping and crying while already scared and weak. Once he finally fell asleep in my arms, instead of giving us a quiet moment, they immediately brought out paperwork about urn options and put the card reader in my face while he was still alive. I was trying to say goodbye to my dog and being asked for payment at the same time. It felt transactional and cruel in that moment. During the euthanasia they kept trying to talk cheerfully to me. I know this is routine for them, but my dog was dying in my arms. I didn’t want small talk. I wanted a little silence and respect. After he passed, I asked for a whisker and some fur to keep. They yanked his whiskers so carelessly they almost clipped his eyelid. Even after he was gone, it felt rushed and rough. I understand this is a business. I understand they do this every day. But this was one of the worst moments of my life, and there was no empathy, no awareness, no softness in how it was handled. Losing a pet is already traumatic. The way this was handled made it worse. Please take your animal somewhere that treats both pets and owners with compassion in their final moments. Here’s some pictures of my baby. The one in the flowers is a year ago before the decline and the second is one of our final moments with him.

Fantastic experience: If I could give this place a million stars I would. Amazing staff and I’m so thankful for them! We found a lost dog in the middle of the big Dallas ice storm literally running through traffic.. fortunately he ran up to our car after a bit and jumped in the front seat. Just a big ole wet cold pitbull. we had no idea what to do with him we drove around looking for the owner then called this place because they’re 24 hrs and it was like 10 pm on Friday… they were able to check him for a chip which he did have! Although the phone number it was registered to had given him up for adoption through Facebook they were working together to find the current owners. I am so grateful they were able to actually board him for the night which was a huge relief from our original plan having him sleep in our garage (bc we have another dog and are in a rental house obviously didn’t know how well behaved this pitbull was) but to our surprise he was the sweetest throughout the couple hours we spent with him. Anyway they fed him, walked him and boarded him for the night. The staff is so kind and again so thankful for all their help. Sorry long post but highly recommend!! lol

Fantastic experience: The doctors and nurses are incredibly competent and caring. My dog lost a fight with a possum and nearly lost an eye - the folks at VEG treated him like he was their own (and saved his eye!). I hope we never need to go back to VEG, but if I need emergency vet care, in definitely coming back to VEG.

Negative experience: Called over the weekend because my dog got into something she wasn't supposed to and it was stuck all over her mouth. The girl that picked up the phone was extremely rude. She had a very condescending tone and she hung up on me when i was trying to explain what happened, didnt even offer to put me on hold or call back. We ended up going somewhere nicer.
Negative experience: Dr. Wiley was amazing. She tried really hard to drain my dog of all the fluid she could., my dog needed to be drained again of fluid around the chest before current cardiologist appointment within a few days and when I called back the second time I spoke with a man Doctor I hate to say this, but he sounded kind of feminine. I didn’t catch his name so I’m hoping with that description people if you get on the phone with him, do not take your pet. He was very discouraging. he was not helpful at all so I ended up taking my pet to another emergency ER and they got all the fluid and my dog is doing even better than the first time of the procedure. I felt like the first time I got it done. They used way too much medication to sedate my dog because she could not even walk, they had to carry her to the car and then for 2 to 3 days she was in pain and could not tolerate too much because of the anesthetic I could tell in her eyes that she looks so doped up they did not do a reversal comparing it to this time. They did a reversal and gave the dog half the meds that they did at VEGN did not agree with the dose that they had gave her the first time way too much. They were more concerned about eating their dinner and having their little Christmas party than they were than the animals coming through that night, it was the night before Christmas Eve. Please read this. Please do not take your pet if it’s in critical condition to this place reach out to other sources and other places there’s only a few in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and go to an emergency clinic that has specialist on deck. The environment was not clean whatsoever. They were more concerned about their employees than they were my dog. They were loud and not calm at all talking laughing cutting up while they were doing procedures I was so worried if they were truly paying attention, they were more worried about socializing again with each other. Other than they were the animals I would not recommend VEG veterinarian emergency group to anybody Dr. Wiley is very caring and very very nice. I do think a lot of the doctors just came out of school and don’t have a lot of training as well. They were looking to the nurse to inform them about things that have been there for years good things she is there. Do not take your pet to this place.

Fantastic experience: Over New Year’s Day, Dr. Fowler and Dr. Sass were both extremely helpful in communicating to me about Apollo’s urinary blockage and helping me coordinate his care with his regular vet and schedule a transfer of his care with Metro Paws. They also worked with me on budget to make sure he got the care he needed. Last year, in April, we brought Trucy in after she went into shock following a procedure at a different vet’s office. Dr. Crocker and Tanya (Tonya?) were extremely kind and compassionate to us in that situation. They took amazing care of her and of us when it became clear we needed to euthanize her. Then, in August, we brought our cat Maya in for a ruptured anal gland. Dr. Fowler was super helpful in getting our spicy girl cleaned up and getting us set up with a care plan and recheck at Maya’s regular vet.

Fantastic experience: Our cat, Mischa, was having trouble breathing and the entire VEG staff was so great with her. Dr. Spurlin was so kind and gave us lots of helpful information to help with the next steps in managing Mischa's newly diagnosed condition. We are so grateful they worked with us on our limited budget. They helped us prioritize the diagnostic work that would help us get the best picture of the situation within our budget. I'm so relieved they were able to stabilize her and help us understand the next steps. Everyone from the front desk to the techs to the doctors are so compassionate. I would recommend VEG to anyone! Thank you so much and sorry for crying so much! <3 Adding another experience we had in July of this year. My dog, Jael, had an aggressive cancer which progressed so quickly we had no choice but to take her to VEG after she collapsed. We ended up having to let Jael cross the rainbow bridge, which was extremely heartbreaking. But the staff understood how traumatic this even was for us and allowed us to spend some very special last moments with her before humanely letting her pass. They brought her a plate full of snacks and let us be alone with her to process our grief in the moments after. I cannot thank them enough for making this tragic moment less painful in any way they could for both us and Jael.

Negative experience: Don't trust these people. They charged me @ $1500 for iv & mirataz. Charged someone else with an overnight stay and MUCH more work a few hundred dollars. I don't have a job and I've heard that supposedly these people work with you but apparently they decided to charge me exponentially more because I was able to put it on a credit card. Don't believe the lies. They aren't there for the pets. They are there for the $$.

Fantastic experience: earlier this week we went through an extremely traumatic and sudden death with one of our sweet kitties. every single staff member I interacted with at VEG did everything they could to revive her, and made us feel so cared for. the compassion we and our kitty girl received here made something so hard and upsetting just a little bit easier, and for that I cannot thank them enough. thank you to the VEG team, who so very obviously care deeply for not only the animals they care for, but their owners as well. losing a pet is never, ever easy, but thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring for my girl.

Fantastic experience: No one ever wants to be in the position of needing to take their animal to an emergency vet. That said, having visited several emergency veterinary clinics across the DFW area, this was by far the most top-tier experience I have ever had. Every single person I encountered was incredibly kind, compassionate, and genuinely helpful. During an otherwise scary and emotional situation, their care, empathy, and clear love for the animals they serve made all the difference. Fantastic experience: Our Lexie dog was acting quite uncomfortable on Christmas Day, so we made the drive from Terrell to VEG Dallas. Entire staff was kind and compassionate to every animal and human who walked in on this very busy day. With several major emergencies rightfully taking precedence over what turned out to be easily treatable for my dog, the staff still checked on us regularly and apologized for the delay despite it being out of their control. Dr. Wylie was thorough in her exam and explanations, and we had her full attention when she was with us. Highly recommend this location.

Negative experience: I wish I could give zero stars. Horrible experience, drive an extra 15 minutes and go to Dallas Animal Urgent Care on Preston Rd, they are angels, it’s worth the drive!!! They only charge $70 to be seen, VEG robbed me. And the vet tech was annoyed with me when I asked her questions about why they wanted to charge me so much, and what each medication was even going to be for. They were frustrated that I knew what different options I had, and that they had to get info from the doctor to answer my questions. Seriously? The open concept was extremely stressful and the whole thing felt unserious and impersonal. Only go here if you absolutely need help asap, for bleeding out or something. Otherwise, stay away. Awful in multiple ways. ***Edited to add, I remembered also - the doctor said she had never seen the color of diarrhea my dog was having - huh??? Even I knew that it was brightly colored due to bile, could be things like pancreatitis, fat malabsorption etc. (ended up being pancreatitis.) (Thanks to Dallas Animal Urgent Care for helping diagnose that one.) Do these people have any experience with animals?? Unclear.

Fantastic experience: I took my dog Bear in due to him being lethargic, throwing up anything he would eat. I called ahead, so I was able to give them all the information ahead of time. During the stay, nearly every person there(I'm pretty sure every person) came over and gave my dog pets, love, care. The doctors were great, explaining everything and implications with different approaches, but end of the day, he passed what he had ate, and I was able to take him home. The first day home, he slept a lot, but by the next day he was back to his normal self and energy. If your pet needs emergency care, this place will do what they can to help take care of your pet.

Fantastic experience: My dog, Ryan ingested 1 1/2 lbs of milk chocolate fudge intended for Christmas gifts. The staff was amazing, empathetic and spot on when treating Ryan. They induced vomiting and literally saved his life. My thanks to Nurse Vargas and Dr. Wylie for their expertise. A shout out also to the receptionist who helped clean up the mess Ryan made ., she was wonderful as well. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Would definitely recommend this facility if you have a pet in distress.

Fantastic experience: I had to take my son’s silver lab to the VEG emergency clinic! He snuck into a bedroom where I was wrapping Xmas presents and I had forgotten that I had 2 bags of chocolate candy that I was giving as gifts. His name is Bandit and he ate both bags! My son was out that night so I was in charge! Everyone at the clinic was super nice, friendly, and helpful in that unfortunate situation! I give the clinic 5 stars and highly recommended them!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Wylie was a lifesaver-literally. My dog, Cappy, woke up with signs of GDV, and after an initial visit to another emergency vet at 4am, we were sent straight to VEG Dallas for emergency surgery. Dr. Wylie and her team were ready immediately and showed incredible urgency, skill, and compassion. They took amazing care of Captain, but just as importantly, they showed kindness, reassurance, and strength to me during one of the most terrifying moments of my life. I will forever be grateful for their expertise, transparency, and genuine care. Because of them, Cappy is here today. Dr. Wylie is an unbelievable ER vet and I could not recommend her enough, I am forever thankful.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience at VEG ER for Pets. Dr. Nicole Huette was amazing with my 12 year old Shih Tzu, Monroe. We went in there not knowing what was wrong with her and she immediately diagnosed her and took excellent care of her. Not to mention they have everything available for you while you are waiting to make you feel comfortable (i.e. coffee, water, snacks). I am so thankful for Dr. Huette and appreciate her compassion and knowledge for animals. She was great and so was the rest of the staff. Thank you all!

Fantastic experience: There are no words to fully express how grateful we are for VEG Dallas. We rushed our dog, Rockie, in while he was struggling to breathe due to a collapsing trachea, and the moment we walked through the doors they took him back immediately and began working on him. It was an incredibly critical and terrifying situation, and they truly saved our baby’s life. Throughout everything, the entire team was so caring and compassionate. They took the time to explain every step, made sure we understood what was happening, and allowed us to stay back with Rockie. We were never left wondering or feeling alone — we were always informed and supported during one of the scariest moments of our lives. Dr. Wylie, Dr. Watson, and Dr. Hammonds were truly amazing, and the nurses and technicians were just as incredible. Their compassion, attentiveness, and constant reassurance meant everything to us during such an emotional time. Fantastic experience: Truly an amazing team. I came at around 11pm due to my cat having blood in her pee. The moment I came and rang the door bell, the staff did not waste any time to get my cat addressed. I was immediately taken to a room where the technicians and Dr. Marisa Litherland did an amazing job handling my cat who was a bit fiesty. She was also very thorough with her explanations and made everything easy to understand. They are also super transparent with the costs prior to you committing so there will be no surprises. I would highly recommend this Pet ER to anyone with confidence.

Fantastic experience: From start to finish, this was a great experience. It was like watching an episode of ER but the animal version. They were helping patients in the waiting room being efficient, kind and professional. We pulled up and the parking lot was full. I said, oh we’re going to be here all night. That was not the case. We were not one of the critical cases, but we were seen, treated and on our way home within an hour. If you ever have an emergency situation with your fur babies, I highly recommend that you take them here. You will not regret it.

Fantastic experience: We had the best vet experience we’ve ever had here. All the doctors and nurses were extremely professional and kind. We brought our 12 yo dog in at 3 in the morning who had woken us up because he was in pain and within 5 minutes of arriving Dr. Henny (sp?) had identified what was wrong. He ended up having to have his spleen removed. They were extremely diligent and organized in getting him ready for surgery very quickly and performed the surgery with zero complications. His aftercare was so great that he was even ready to come home the next morning. We are blown away with the level of service, care, and professionalism from this vet. If you have an emergency situation, take your pet here!!!!!! We could not recommend them more. Thank you VEG for taking such good care of Scout!!!!

Fantastic experience: Was in Dallas for Mavs basketball game from Louisiana when had to take diabetic dog to ER at midnight for having blood around his mouth and on his feet. Everyone from time I walked in with my dog to the time we let was GREAT. Made me feel comfortable even thought I was stressing about my dog. Staff was awesome. Fantastic experience: Trust the thousands of reviews you would be ignorant to take ur pet anywhere else. Dr Watson is the most knowledgeable and trustworthy doc i have met yet from understanding a complex cardiac patient like my dog to toxicology and the entire biological process involved to hands on life saving measures from chocking hazards on feline was just a few hours of work for her. Goodluck finding better and the entire staff I mean it best ER in dallas I would drive hours for their service I do not leave reviews but this place was so outstanding with which they handled my dog these are the reviews I look for when evaluating anything. Fantastic experience: My dog was really sick throwing up all their food and more. Couldn't keep anything down. Took her to vet closet to my home but they was busy and referred me to this hospital. They are very friendly, knowledgeable individuals whom seems to have a real love for animals. They looked my dog over and informed she will will be OK. She has been since that night. Fantastic experience: On Sunday, November 30,2025, @ 6:00 my precious 14yo baby Baxter began to act lethargic and refused to eat. After a few minutes of this, I remembered that my Vet had given me a magnet with info about VEG. I called to let them know we were coming and when we got there, we were greeted @ the door. In a few moments Edwin came and began assessing Baxter while Baxter sat on my lap. Then we were greeted by Dr. Charney who could not have been kinder. He sat on the floor with Baxter! He discussed a treatment plan and began testing and I was able to be with Baxter the whole time! He made a diagnosis. Prescribed meds and we were on our way! Baxter is doing great and I am so grateful to this amazing staff--especially Dr. Charney and Edwin who are our heros.

Fantastic experience: I brought my dog in in the middle of the night last night and from the first call with the front desk to the technicians and the vet, it was such a good experience given the circumstances. Negative experience: The environment of having an open concept treatment area was very chaotic especially since we were given very sad news about our pet’s condition.The place seemed so crowded and disorganized.We were so uncomfortable to cry in front of a bunch of people who were staring at us. The doctor’s bedside manners could also be improved especially dealing with such devastating diagnoses. She was a bit unsympathetic and ambiguous about her suggestions.Her voice was also so quiet that we had a hard time hearing anything that she said.This made the experience even all the more unpleasant. The receptionist was very nice although she seemed not to know anything about our pet’s diagnosis during the checkout process bc she cheerfully said “hope he gets better” or something when our pet was basically dealt a death sentence.

Fantastic experience: One of the scariest moments of my life happened when I was five hours from home and my dog, Behr, had to be rushed to VEG Emergency Vet. Once I finally was able to get there, I was still so terrified, but the staff was incredible. They were patient, compassionate, and always available to answer my questions and concerns….and trust me I asked a lot! I was amazed and so comforted that I could stay with him the entire time. I never left his side for nearly 24 hours. They truly saved my baby’s life, and after seeing how hard the team works, I would recommend VEG 100 percent. While I hope I never have to return under those circumstances, I feel so much more at ease knowing they’re there if anything ever happens again. Will forever be so grateful for the VEG team!

Fantastic experience: Everyone on the staff was incredible. They were so kind and compassionate. Mariana came and sat with me for a while when I was sitting with my kitty, Goose, who had to spend two days here. You can tell the doctors and staff really care about your animals and do everything they can to keep them comfortable during the healing process. Couldn’t be happier with my overall experience. Fantastic experience: The team at VEG exceeded all expectations! Going above and beyond for MeowMeow! She was comfortable with them, which is saying a lot! And they did everything they could working with me in every way possible! They are extremely caring and really there for the animals and not just for a check! I recommend them 100% Dr. Charney was the vet that seen my little sweet lil girl! Reading others negative reviews, I wonder if they were up front about their hardships! I feel it makes a difference, I told the receptionist as soon as I walked in, as well as the Dr and nurse, I tried to apply for the assistance and was denied. Yes, they asked several times, but, hello… it is a business! I feel like I was given the best care possible while accumulating the least cost. I feel that if my situation would have required more costly procedures, I do not believe I would have been turned away. Yes, I was encouraged to seek cheaper options but had it come down to it, I do not believe for a second that I would have been turned away!

Fantastic experience: I had to bring my dog Foxxy here Saturday evening as she was experiencing respiratory distress. I called VEG when we were in the car and on our way to let them know to expect us. The front desk receptionist was great, she sent me a link to fill out to check Foxxy in while we were on our way. Foxxy and I barely made it into the front doors of the ER before staff rushed to take us into triage, they acted so quick which I certainly appreciated. The doctors and technicians I met were all so compassionate, kind and genuinely caring. I was able to stay by my dogs side the entire 4.5 hours we were in the ER which was such blessing as it helped calm and reassure Foxxy that everything was going to be okay. Foxxy needed ultrasounds, x-rays, bloodwork, sedation and oxygen therapy to stabilize her. The staff explained everything they were doing and needed to do in great detail and walked me through it all so I didn’t feel left out of the loop or overwhelmed. They were incredibly transparent about the pricing of the procedures and broke everything down to me in terms that I could clearly understand. They were kind and patient with me during my time of stress and need, they did not hassle me about payment at all. They gave my dog Foxxy the best care possible. I unfortunately cannot recall the names of the various staff we worked with, as I was completely overwhelmed and worried for my dog. I do know that while we were at the ER from 6pm-11pm there was a shift change that happened so my dog Foxxy has received care from a handful of staff, please allow me to extend my gratitude and utmost appreciation for everyone who helped us. Even the small things they did for me touched my heart, like providing me with a chair to sit in so I could stay near the oxygen chamber my dog was in. The doctor and front desk even provided me with a phone charger to use while I was there as I had rushed to the ER with a nearly dead phone. While my dog’s condition began to stabilize I was able to relax and started to observe the ER around me, I was completely blown away by how efficient, quick to react and hardworking the staff was. The ER was very busy with many pet parents there during crisis. There were 2 occasions where staff had to begin life saving medical interventions and CPR on patients to which a staff member approached me and explained that if what was going on could potentially distress me, that I could take a moment outside and they would keep an eye on Foxxy. I really appreciated that and my heart goes out to those pet parents. Before my dog was stable enough to be discharged, the doctor took the time to give Foxxy an additional ultrasound to ensure that Foxxy’s respiratory distress has truly been resolved and that there were no areas of concern. She took the time to give her opinions on the situation as well as answer any questions I may had. I felt confident leaving that my Foxxy would make a full recovery. This morning Foxxy and I followed up with our primary vet to formulate an in depth, long term plan of care for the management of Foxxy’s tracheal collapse. I am happy and so thankful to say that because of VEG’s staff quick response time in caring for Foxxy during her medical emergency, she has made a full recovery and is doing wonderful today. I don’t think I will ever be able to convey in words truly how thankful and grateful I am for VEG! Thank you so very much for caring for Foxxy (and myself) during our time of need ❤️ I highly recommend this ER!

Fantastic experience: Our sweet Maggie came in unable to walk and in a lot of pain. The doctors acted quickly and gave her the best care during her stay. The compassion that everyone there showed us was above and beyond. We didn’t get to take our sweet pup home, but knowing she was surrounded by people who were kind, patient, and diligent made it a little bit easier. Dr. Hammond was incredibly compassionate and ensured we had all of the information, every time. If it there were ever another situation where we needed emergency services this would be the first place we go.

Fantastic experience: It’s a very scary moment when your beloved family pet is sick. My elder puppy Fetcher (age 11) had a bad reaction to anesthesia and could not keep any food or water down for >48h. Despite trips to his regular vet, he didn’t get better. When he became more lethargic, I called VEG at 7pm. I was able to talk to Dr. Huizar on the phone to triage if Fetcher’s symptoms constituted an emergency. By doing so, I was able to pre-register F, and they were expecting him when we arrived. Despite a busy ER, we were met almost immediately by Dr. Huizar and Emma our vet tech who meticulously and thoughtfully cared for Fetcher with diagnostic testing. He stayed overnight and I was offered the ability to stay with him at bedside. I was able to call anytime for an update and received an update call by the overnight vet Dr. Marisa to discuss Fetcher’s progress overnight and formulate an updated treatment plan, again with expertise, professionalism, and clear concern for my old boy. I received a follow up call from the day shift vet Dr. Leffel early into his shift, and it was clear he had thoroughly reviewed Fetcher’s chart and intelligently navigated the options for ongoing treatment and criteria for discharge. When I came to visit Fetcher, I met Molly who was oh so carefully taking my pup’s blood pressure and ensuring all tubes and lines were in place. She was attentive and understanding that he wasn’t feeling well and loved on him nonetheless. Overall, my experience was A++, even though this was one of the scariest moments of my life. I couldn’t recommend a better treatment team or place for your pet in an emergency! The ER was clean, pet and kid friendly, with snacks and drinks, and incredibly caring staff, even beyond the vets and techs, who are incredible. I can’t thank them enough for saving my boy!

I appreciate everyone's bed side manner and compassion, I wish you were not just an emergency vet, I would come here as my general doctor. Even the people not working in direct contact were always moving, they had a de briefing to get everybody on the same page. It was an impressive operation and I have had my fair share of emergency clinics in the past few months. Well done to the team!

Negative experience: We overheard them talking about us through the door and it broke our hearts it was unprofessional. It would have been a 5 star review for the way they originally treated us. My dog gave birth in the middle of the night in a storm in our Jeep. We were driving and she started giving birth we had just gotten her back from the summer and didn’t even know she was pregnant. Regardless we realized quickly and tried to help her didn’t know she was that close to giving birth. We are broke like so many people and having a pregnant dog was not on our 2025 bingo card. I have been to this hospital before and it was for something simple and they were so sweet. They helped us with London and she had given birth to 3 of the puppies and she was in distress. She was acting fine but her breathing was still off and it had already been 2.5 hours. Originally Brittani I think her name was was sooo sweet. She gave us so much information and the Hosptial was dead there were no dogs around maybe in kennels but not being worked on by this time it was about 2:30 am going on 3. They took us back to the room she brought blankets and she said the office visit is $190 and the x rays were $200 something… we told her we don’t have money but didn’t mind a payment plan and she said she will talk to the doctor but it was okay to let her give birth in the room. Meanwhile it’s storming outside and we were already stressed driving in the rain. She actually had a baby literally 10 min in and when the doctor came in and realized we didn’t have any money he was very kind but he mentioned it’s best we leave with her to take her back home. We were confused she just had a puppy 5 min ago, there were no lines no one waiting for a room nothing. Then Brittani came back in 5 min later with a string collar and stated that it’s best to take her home. We understood that. We had just ran out to the car to grab her harness she’s a great Pyrnese and she is large and we didn’t trust the little shoe string collar they gave us. Then before my partner was walking in with the collar she came back in again. And said you guys need to leave now. We were shocked and I was disgusted how we were treated. Not only that we heard the staff talking about us outside and I asked her is everything okay out there and she said yeah there are no dogs out here. At that point our dog started to growl and she had been laying down so calm contracting. We heard everything they said and it made me so sad. They seemed so nice and the way Brittani was at the beginning to us leaving literally within 30 min of being there was so different and we knew they had told her to have us leave. We are human. We were broke just like the rest of the country is. It’s 2:30 am and it’s storming outside and the Hosptial was empty. The staff were all sitting around the table outside of the door not realizing we had heard them talking bad about us. Regardless. I would say this place would be great if you have cash or money. But sometimes you just need to have a heart. Look beyond the paychecks. She had 5 puppies and we think she may have one stuck. We will see been up all night but the way she told us we needed to leave felt so humiliating and degrading. And that’s not how she was at the beginning. And I get it if we were asking anything extra of the staff we weren’t. The doctor already said he couldn’t look at her without payment. And he was kind to give us advice. But letting us stay in the room while she just gave birth for a few moments wouldn’t have hurt him or the hospital.

Fantastic experience: My dog was attacked at 6 am and I didn’t know what to do. As soon as I called , they told me they were ready for him. And they were! The staff was so calming and explained everything to me. They told me I can come in the back and sit with him. Everyone was so nice. They saved my pups life. I am so grateful for them.

Fantastic experience: A Lifesaving, Compassionate Team When We Needed It Most! I cannot thank the team at Veterinary Emergency Group enough for the care they gave my too-curious 6-month-old puppy. We had an absolutely terrifying scare when she chewed down on an electrical cord and was shocked. After the initial shock wore off, we immediately drove to VEG. From the moment we arrived, they were nothing short of phenomenal. They immediately rushed her back for assessment, quickly checked her over to make sure she was stable, and kept her under close observation. The staff were incredibly supportive and nice, understanding how worried we were. We were immensely grateful that, because there were no immediate life-threatening concerns, we were able to take her home for careful monitoring. Every single staff member we interacted with was kind, professional, and genuinely caring—it seemed like everyone loved my puppy! They handled a stressful emergency with expertise and compassion. If you ever find yourself in a scary situation, this is the place to go. They are truly the best.

Fantastic experience: So my dog Nova got pardon and explaining the situation everyone said it seemed like they were cold and uncaring.... looking back now they cared enough to try everything they possibly could. They gave me the options of live and suffer or let pass quick and peacefully. I had nova since she was 4 weeks old. Months later I still cry over her. I can literally say comparable to losing my child at 7 weeks. They did everything they could then did not let me make Nova suffer any longer. Maybe seemed a little tough but looking back I already stalled them out for hours pleading with god and trying to find other solutions that did not exist. Rip Nova and thank you veg yall were perfectly amazing during such a trag ic time!

Negative experience: The doctor wanted to put my dog down. She missed my dogs veins a few times when it came to the catheter which caused my dog even more stress. My dog recovered from pneumonia at Highland Park Animal Hospital. They never once talked to me about putting down my pet at highland park but it’s the first thing they suggested at VEG. Never will I return and please consider other emergency services if you’re needing help.
