Fantastic experience: While their prices are hefty for some items that seem like they would be included in the visited they are most caring ,thorough and available when it matters veterinarians I have ever been to and therefore worth the cost when one of our fur babies needs care. They really listen to our concerns and follow up with after appointment notes that help in remembering all that was discussed. From the front desk staff, vet techs to the doctors all friendly, kind and caring. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: This was my first experience with Josey Ranch Pet Hospital. From the moment, I walked in, with the friendly greeting and reception from the ladies at the front to the clean environment, and then being taken back to the exam room in a very timely fashion. Facility was impressively clean, and open. Fernanda, the technician and Dr. Ginn made me feel extremely comfortable and answered all of my questions with respect and professionalism. I was apprehensive at first, but I walked out feeling like a valued client. This is my go to place now.

Fantastic experience: Updated 2025: I’ve been bringing my dog Bruce here for over a year (when my old vet clinic closed and we were automatically transferred), and it’s clear the whole team truly cares about him. The staff is always friendly, the clinic is spotless, and I’ve never once felt pressured into unnecessary services — in fact, when I accidentally booked a higher-level service, they called to correct it. It’s such a relief to have a vet I can fully trust. I’ve already recommended them to several of my fellow dog parent friends—highly recommend! Older: Love everyone on the staff, and really appreciate that I don’t feel like I’m getting ‘upsold’ every time we come in. Everyone seems to sincerely care to give my dog the best care possible, and that means so much!

Fantastic experience: We have used Josie. Ranch animal hospital for many years recently we did artificial insemination on labrador. 2 and a half months later, we had a C section done On our paddy gurl. 6 girls, one boy and they all came out perfect. We have used three different doctors at Josie. 1 collection and frozen One who has taken care of all of our animals but was out for personal reasons. And one who took did the c-section and took the time to explain everything about our puppies and what we needed to do. The service of assistant doctors and the check in and check out.Have always always been terrific.I can't say enough good things about josie ranch animal clinic and hospital David g.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I took our 8 puppies here for the first time last Wednesday. We saw Dr Esmond. He and the staff were all so amazing. I love that he explains and educates you as he is doing things and keeps you involved in your pets care by doing so. We will definitely be back. Fantastic experience: I love this place. I first came here a few years back simply to get my senior/heart murmur dog groomed in a safe place. But all categories from quality service to atmosphere to pet care convinced me to switch from a 15+ year old relationship with another care center. These guys are real straight shooters and set expectations for whatever difficulty level you and your pet family are navigating. Shout out to Dr. Baber and Paula who provide consistent, compassionate care for my dog and cat, and to the amazing front desk team who make the best first and last impressions as we come and go!

I am sure other clients feel the same. Thanks for all you do! When my sweet Rocket girl died suddenly, I felt the entire office was mourning along with me. I will never forget Doctor Esmond coming out to my car to check on me. True compassion.

Negative experience: Completely unacceptable experience at this vet office. My frenchie was denied a prescription food refill—not because it was unsafe or unneeded, but because we hadn’t come in for a check-up yet. They chose to put profit over my pet’s well-being, knowing full well he relies on that food for his health. I can’t feed him anything else because he gets instantly sick. It’s outrageous and unprofessional to leave a pet without food as a way to force an appointment. This office clearly cares more about charging for visits than caring for animals. I will not be returning and do not recommend them to any responsible pet owner. They will jeopardize your pet’s health over a couple of bucks.

Fantastic experience: Diagnosis of early congestive heart failure, and then referred to the intensive care unit where after two days of treatment, she is now back to normal

Fantastic experience: I saw Dr. G and had a great experience! This was my first appointment after adopting my cat (Misha) a couple months ago from a shelter. She made me feel very comfortable and listened to all my thoughts and questions and answered them all. Misha was pretty terrified, and Dr. G was very gentle and patient. I will definitely be back!

Negative experience: The oxygen tank was never turned on, which is why the ER didn’t charge me they confirmed it was never used. It would really mean a lot if someone could take accountability for what happened. I understand you have a business to run but this is like playing with people money and lives

Fantastic experience: Excellent reproduction services we recently had a litter of 11 puppies they are doing well in their furever homes. Mother’s Day 2025. The staff had been super responsive!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Cortiaus took very good care of our Rhodesian Ridgeback. She was able to see him and schedule a molar extraction within a few days. Dr. C was very thorough in testing on a neck swelling. Our guy is home and doing very well postoperative. Thank you, Dr. Cortiaus.

Fantastic experience: I’m very thankful to Dr. Baber, who provided outstanding care and support when my dog was diagnosed with diabetes. During the first appointment, she took the time to walk me through the diagnosis, treatment options, and showed me how to do insulin shots for my dog. Whenever I had questions or concerns, whether about insulin dosing, dietary changes, or my dog’s weight loss, she responded to my emails promptly and thoroughly with detailed explanations. I really appreciate her knowledge, responsiveness and kindness and would highly recommend her.

Fantastic experience: I love everyone at Josey Ranch. They take such wonderful care of their patients (and their pet parents!) I had my girl in for a sonogram to check for pregnancy. He found 7 maybe 8 Dr. Esmond is always so good with my girls. He’s never in a hurry and answers all of my questions, even the dumb ones, with kindness. I had my boy in for a reproductive checkup and I was kept informed throughout the process, allowed to see specimens on the microscope for myself and given ideas for improvement for the next visit. Fantastic experience: Staff is unbelievably nice! Didn't even wait a minute for our annual checkup we had scheduled. Walked in, and as soon as we checked in, we were taking to the exam room. Dr Calhoun takes the time to ask lots of questions about how my dog is doing and explains everything thing that is being done. My boy will never go anywhere else for vet care! There was even a painting of him in the exam room! At least, that's what I told him.

Fantastic experience: I love JRPH and DR Bader! We have used them for years. I feel they truly care about your pet’s well-being. At one point, we were pet-less and had moved during that time. So when we got a new pet, we searched for a vet closer to us. After a few years and trying a few different vets, we are now back at JRPH.

Fantastic experience: In my opinion, they have the best Vet in the area, Dr. Baber. Treated successfully my first dachshund's back problems without the usual surgery and quickly diagnosed my 2nd dachshund puppy for Lepto which allowed hospital to save his life. Fantastic experience: I'm changing from my previous vet to Josey Ranch for all my pets. Kalani and Dr. Esmond both took extra time to get my 1 year old corso comfortable with the environment making sure he had a positive experience. I had a 1 year old male corso who had swelling under his anus. The first vet felt an enlarged prostate and was subtly pushing towards neutering him, but wanted to do an xray first to confirm the size. I discussed this with a veterinarian friend and they stated that an ultrasound was needed instead of an xray. When I told the first vet this they agreed that an ultrasound should be done and referred me to BluePearl in Lewisville. Instead I took my boy to Josey Ranch where Dr. Esmond did an ultrasound and rectal exam and found everything to be normal. The ultrasound and exam was $230. At BluePearl it likely would have been $500+. They do OFAs here and Kalani did an amazing job on getting the xrays for my female corso. The price was $475 for hips, elbows, patellas, and an exam.

Fantastic experience: This is if not the best, than one of the best vets I've been to! I was recommended to them by an ER and I've never looked back. The staff is the sweetest, on time, and very kind to the animals and owners! I even got a call back from the dr after it closed 15 minutes later one day which is unheard of in my experience with the vet I was at for 13 years. Thank you for being a great place for my pup!

Fantastic experience: I have been for reproductive work as well as regular exams. All of the vets & staff we've seen have been amazing. Everything is explained so in depth it's a breath of fresh air. When tests come back they are punctual about calling. The facility has always been clean, there isn't a bunch of pets in the waiting rooms, & the front staff is always so lovely. Having their own online store has been handy for us when needing meds refilled or flea/tick prevention ordered. I couldn't come up with a single complaint so far!

Fantastic experience: I drive an hour to Josey Ranch for our breeding needs. Definitely worth the drive. Dr. Cortiaus has helped with 4 litters so far-the first one was a c-section. She did a great job with all of Piper's care leading up to her c-section, during, and after. She's very knowledgeable and answers ALL of my questions, and our appointments are never rushed. I'm so glad that we found her and Josey Ranch. The techs, the front office staff, everyone is great!

Fantastic experience: I began taking my fur babies to Josey Ranch after another vet failed to diagnose my female Sheltie with hypothyroidism, some years ago. Dr. Cortias diagnosed her and saved her. Josey Ranch has cared for three of my pets until their eventual crossing of the Rainbow Bridge due to old age. I now have a Corgi, and I only trust the Josey Ranch doctors and the staff to provide his veterinary care.

Fantastic experience: All staff members are always friendly and genuinely concerned about the animals that come through the clinic. This creates an atmosphere of trust for the pet owners. I have been to clinics that were simply all business and little care and concern. Josey Ranch is NOT that type of clinic. I will always use this clinic for my pets' needs.

Fantastic experience: This Pet hospital has the best veterinarian in the country Dr. Barnett, has been an amazing veterinarian for my dogs. This is the first clinic where I didn’t feel rush. Dr. Barnett took the time to hear all my concerns and went over every little detail about my dog pregnancy and next steps. She is just the most caring, compassionate and professional Doctor I ever been encounter, she helped me with my dog Greta thru the whole process of her C-section and after care. Negative experience: Grooming services by Makayla. I've had a bad experience with this groomer, bad enough to submit this review. I took my 3 dogs to Makayla for grooming. Makayla told me that she might need to shave them down because they were matted a bit. Fair enough. I worked to get some mats out myself, but I knew there were still mats on his feet and belly. I asked her to leave their tails long. The tails weren't matted and Kai's tail was especially long and gorgeous like a horse's tail. She cut off about half of it. There were no mats on either dogs' tail. She went against my wishes and did what she preferred. It took years for Kai's tail to get that long and gorgeous. That's not the worst of it. After I got my dogs home, I noticed that Kai was frantically running and crying. He kept moving his tail away from his bottom. I looked at him and noticed he was bright pink and with zero fur in spots. She trimmed him down to the skin and it hurt him, bad. I contacted the clinic to advise and was told to wait until Monday to see if the situation resolves. This was a Thursday that I called. By Monday, he quit crying for the most part, but he still won't walk anywhere unless I push him to move and when he does move, he still pushes his tail away from his bare skin. It's now scabbed over a bit. She did cut him. It's like she trimmed away a layer of his skin. I went to several pet stores and spent about $80 purchasing balms, ointment, etc. to give him some relief. It helped some but not much. I will never let Makayla touch any of my dogs again. Either she's incompetent, or she wasn't paying attention, or she lacks compassion and just didn't care that she was hurting him. There is no valid excuse for what she did and at the very least she should be refunding the premium fee ($125) she charged me for Kai. She should be compensating me for all the items I had to buy to help Kai get relief. And, she should be paying for any vet care he may need as a result.

Fantastic experience: We were very concerned with our pup & they were able to fit us in last min on a Saturday! They were so knowledgeable & friendly!

Negative experience: A friend of mine recently took her dog to Josey Ranch for a grooming & 3 hours later the dog was dead. Be aware this clinic is owned by Vetcorp, a national chain just like Banfield. No one has apologized or been transparent with what happened. Is this where you want to take your beloved furry family member??!! BEWARE!!

Fantastic experience: Josey Ranch was recommended to us by our breeder (who drives an hour across Dallas to take his dogs here) and it is the only place we have taken our dog since she was born. Everyone is very helpful and Cora always receives the best care there. Dr. Teixeira is great with our dog and the staff all remember her whenever we visit, so they give an great feeling of personal connection with you and your animal.

Fantastic experience: The Vets and staff are always friendly,and during this time of the virus, they have been exceptional. The techs are in and out to the cars with our pets and continue with professional and friendly attitudes. The doctors are talking to us over the phone to inform of our pets condition. I believe the animals are in better care than we are!!

Fantastic experience: My dog had a positive experience at Josey Ranch Pet Hospital. She was seen for an infertility work up and for final OFA x rays. The positioning was excellent for the x rays. And, Dr Smith called and explained all the results of the infertility work up. The receptionists were prompt about sending all copies of the test results to me.

Fantastic experience: I have used Josey Ranch Pet Hospital for about 7 years. They have cared for 9 of my dogs and all 183 puppies (I breed service dogs.) From a knowledgeable, professional, and attentive staff to Doctors who know each animal individually and always tell you the most important thing: What is best for the Dog, there is simply no other vet I have ever used that I trust more.
