1 month ago Fantastic experience: It is a nice place,my dog was really comfortable when he seen Dr.Gioann,Rubio.I took my dauschund to 2 other vets for a skin infection and 1100.00 later no results, so I decided to take him here and Dr.Gioann,put him on a antibiotic with an allergy shot.All he did was look at the area on the dog and told me that it is an infection, to where the other vets told me that it wasn't, I am a very picky pet owner and from what the doctor told me today I feel very comfortable with Cheyenne Tonopah animal hospital, Thank you again! Oh,the price was great!!

1 month ago Negative experience: So I fell for the 4.9 star reviews . I brought my first pug in for a second opinion On her respiratory issues. I was told I should probably put her on Cytopoint injection So I wouldn’t have to bother giving her a Zyrtec every night. I asked what it was for. He said it was for itching. She doesn’t have a problem for that. When I was presented the estimate For that and many other things,because I was so exhausted from no sleep the night before because of my little dog I went ahead and signed it. but he knew how I felt about the Cytopoint I should’ve been asked again if I’m sure I wanted it It has nothing to do with respiratory issues. It has everything to do with scratching and itching, which she does not have.. That was over $400 visit with everything that was done Next, I brought in my second pug a week later who is having breathing problems she was put on doxycycline for two weeks And I asked about a probiotic. They had one for $80 I figured it must be pretty good until I got home and saw the same thing on Amazon for $19. That is a 300% markup!! For a customer that has already spent almost $1000 for two dogs in two weeks! And let’s talk about the follow ups $40 if not more most places don’t charge you anything for a follow up. As a senior citizen on a fixed income, this infuriates me. But they got my money that’s all they care about.

The telephone staff, the office staff, the technicians, the veterinarians…each and every person working there is kind, caring, and excellent. They treated my rotten spoiled and very much loved furry baby so gently and kindly, that she wasn’t fearful of them. They are beyond wonderful. 2 months ago Fantastic experience: Dr V is an excellemt veterinarian And I was just there yesterday to have my little Maltese Chihuaha's nails clipped and her face cleaned up and they did an excellent excellent job and they did not even have to sedate her which was a possibility. So again I'm always grateful to Dr Via and his staff for taking such great care. I highly recommend Dr V to anyone that loves animals.

3 months ago Fantastic experience: This is truly the best veterinary clinic I’ve ever been to in my life! We have five dogs, and I have taken all of my dogs here for many years and I will continue to. Dr. V is absolutely amazing! The staff is wonderful, their prices are incredible, And they truly treat you like a VIP! 4 months ago Fantastic experience: Have been brining my fur babies, dogs & cats, to Dr V for 30+ years. He is the BEST Vet. Treats both my pets and myself with professionalism and kindness, my pups get excited when we pull in to the parking lot!!! Also had the chance to meet Dr Lucas, he's new, but I'm getting great vibes from him too! Natalie Update - just visited since the remodel. GREAT job Dr V and all. Place is so different - Love the new and improved Cheyenne Tonopah Animal Hospital. Seeing Dr V is always the icing on the cake! Natalie Still bringing the fur babies to Dr V! The practice is top notch - I’ve seen another vet when Dr V was out, he was great too. And the front of house staff and Vet techs also Rock - all around GREAT people. 4 months ago Fantastic experience: They allowed us to come in and say good bye to our doggy even though we do not come to this clinic as regulars. We are forever grateful. Party of 10 and we were able to give our puppy a good send off with the family. 10/10 for end of life cremation.

4 months ago Fantastic experience: I was referred here to Cheyenne Tonopah Animal hospital by a friend that has lived here in Las Vegas for almost 40 years . I was a bit reluctant, as I had tried another vet only to be disappointed by their lack of professionalism and education , not to mention the lack of empathy for the animals . So imagine my surprise when I was greeted and welcomed by not only a professional staff , but introduced to the head Dr. , a Dr Stewart Vanderlinden , who was well educated , completely thorough, and warm, and even a bit funny in his explanations of all practices involving the animal hospital. He explained every question I had , reassured me about the handling of my senior chihuahuas , and for the first time since leaving Florida , I felt trust and confidence and relief , because of people who really cared . My dogs were cared for , prescriptions filled ( right on property ) nails trimmed and I couldn’t be happier ! They made it pleasant and stress free to be a client . They promised and delivered . Well done , Cheyenne Tonopah Animal Hospital .. Thank you !

5 months ago Fantastic experience: I've been coming to Dr V. for about 8/9 years now. When my family Vet retired. I was so nervous I would not find someone who I felt so comfortable with for my Pitties care, but Cheyenne Tonopah absolutely met that expectation. Everyone at the office is wonderful, they are all so great with my giants and I'm so very grateful for the love and care they provide our family.

This Veterinarian Team radiated a freshness around There Clinic Director has been a Veterinarian for over 40 years in Clark County and was mine for over a decafe. After moving away to another county years ago, that doesn't have a veterinarian clinic until recently I had not needed ont....Then Wow what a blessing My heart Was so happy knowing that my Fur Baby which needed immediate veterinarian attention This was the clinic I choose from referrals given I felt back home ...The was confident the Team would be knowledgeable, & kind hearted and there very affordable they have great price plans Highly recommend

6 months ago Fantastic experience: It’s always a great visit with Dr. Lucas and the team. We are very happy with their approach and support with my pups health. I definitely recommend. The girls at the front are always very friendly and helpful. I’ll always bring my animal babies here. Update: 9/20 My Louie had to have dental surgery and Dr V took very good care of us. His staff took good care of Louie. It was money well spent to ensure the health of my fur baby. He’s getting back to his normal self through the pain post surgery. I make the drive and do whatever it takes for us to stay coming here. They are very fair in their pricing and do amazing work. We were recommended by our groomer Cari and have not looked elsewhere unless it’s an emergency. We will always be family here.

6 months ago Fantastic experience: Wow! This is an excellent clinic to take your fur babies. Our little dog Cora had so many issues we needed to catch up on that were delayed with Covid and my husband's transplant. Wonderful compassionate care. Nice clean office. Pleasant helpful staff. 6 months ago Fantastic experience: They are always so friendly, nice, and sympathetic. We didn't get the best news on our visit but appreciate how kind we were treated. When we had to say good bye to our fur baby a few months ago we received a card along with a little heart that contained flower seeds to plant in memory of him. That was such a heartwarming gesture and we greatly appreciate it.

7 months ago Negative experience: I’ve been going to the veterinarian office for approximately 30 years. In recent years, they have had ownership changes and we have seen a serious decline in the way this office handles patients. We have spent approximately $10,000 in 2025 loan on our animals. When one of them were sick, we got charged after hours emergency fees, even though we came by at 3 PM. They say if you show up without an appointment, you have to pay weekend / walk in fees. Sometimes it’s impossible to get a phone call back, but the biggest thing for me is the price gouging. Everything has gone up in price dramatically, constantly wanting your animals to come in for more blood work before they will refill a prescription. I just adopted two new kitties and wanted to get them established, I needed prices on how much it will cost to spay and neuter them. I have to pay a $70 examination fee just to get a price quote on getting them spayed or neutered. Absolutely ridiculous! I will use the resources I have for adopting the kitties so it’s more affordable and also find a new vet to take my other animals, this veterinarian office has definitely lost its family touch. It’s become a more profit over people establishment

7 months ago Positive experience: I have taken my two Yorkies to this clinic for over a year. Due to a misunderstanding, I was 10 minutes late. The woman at the front desk was rather sharp with me over what I considered to be a minor issue. The doctor who treated my dogs was a really down to earth man who was obviously VERY experienced. He took the time to address my concerns and offered very good advice. I will continue to bring my babies to this clinic because the staff is generally friendly and helpful and the doctor was extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

7 months ago Fantastic experience: 9/11/25 My senior dog had new growth removals by Dr. V. I cannot thank him enough. His care is exemplary, he is truly a gem! I am a hopeless skeptic, I don’t trust anyone with my pet’s care especially since so many animal hospitals exploit ($$$) the love you have for your pets. Dr. V is honest, straight forward, conservative yet effective, affordable and shows sincere concern for your pet. Clinic staff is always great!! 8 months ago Fantastic experience: I took my chiquilin in after getting beat by his brothers and they were so good to us. They looked at him and made sure he wasn't seriously injured they loved on him and he didn't wanna let the nurse leave our room :) this is officially our permanent vet

8 months ago Fantastic experience: There is nothing bad to say about the Cheyenne tonopah animal Hospital. They are the best I have found here in Las Vegas. A few years ago we had a pug and he was almost 18 years old and unfortunately, we had to put him down and it was at this hospital. They were absolutely amazing. Fast-forward a couple years we got a new dog. His name is zero and I was watching my granddaughter and I didn’t realize that she dropped a few grapes and zero being the puppy that he is consumed just a few like maybe one. I was very stressed out. I was worried about him. I didn’t know what to do my husband called? Got us in immediately. I was worried about zero but I didn’t know how it was going to affect me walking into the veterinarian again after losing our pug needless to say I couldn’t speak because I was crying because the last time I was there, I was saying goodbye to one of my kids. But they were so sweet and understanding and made me feel comfortable. And thankfully zero is good now, but he was on the borderline of having kidney failure and as a pet mom that is the worst feeling in the world. But it took about a week giving him his medication and just keeping an eye on him and he’s perfectly fine now. So I would recommend this animal hospital to anyone very affordable as well. So thank you Cheyenne Tonopah Animal Hospital for making me feel comfortable and making zero feel comfortable. We appreciate each and everyone of you.

9 months ago Fantastic experience: Update: 7/19/25. Still taking my pets here. The staff is still great! Dr V and Dr Lucas are the best. Super knowledgeable and clearly really care about their patients. I love that Dr Lucas will always kneel or sit down on the ground to say hi to my dogs. They have helped us with everything from standard vaccines to ear infections and the loss of our beloved pets with all of the thoughtfulness and empathy. Will always recommend them. The staff here is fantastic. My fiancé's family have been bringing their pets here for years and have never had a complaint. They treat us like family and never over charge us. They always give their honest, professional opinion and put the well being of the pet above all. I will continue bringing my pets to this animal hospital for years to come.

9 months ago Fantastic experience: Wonderful! Finally, after seeing 8 Vets here in Vegas In the 4 1/2 years here. Great and compassionate staff (which can make or break a practice), Dr. V. Is no nonsense, takes much time with you, and understands the financial strains our fur babies cost. I needed to get my kitty in ASAP. He gave me some “gel” and a few cans of food to try and get us through this tough time! Highly recommend!

9 months ago Fantastic experience: Doctor V and staff are all amazing! Dr. V. is great at explaining things so you understand and takes the time to answer any and all questions. I never feel rushed. I especially like that 90% of all work done on my dogs is done in the office with me present. The basic examination as well as shots and more are done while you sit with your animal. You can't go wrong with them.

9 months ago Fantastic experience: These folks are simple phenomenal. They were very quick to get us an exam, and then fit us in the very next day for a cyst removal. They were very patient, clearly understood that our golden did not trust vets and made sure to ask plenty of questions without stressing her out needlessly. When we arrived for our appt to drop her off for surgery, they made sure to triple check everything and because of our dog's anxiety (which is pretty over the top sometimes!) they did what they could to get her in as soon as possible, keep her comfortable and she was out within just a few hours and in much better shape than when she arrived! The work appears to be top notch as well, and other than typical itchiness she is a much happier pup. They even gave her a "bravest dog" award. The staff is overall just wonderful, the Doctor Mendez is very skilled (with excellent bedside manor) and because cost is very important, I will say that their prices are very competitive from what we've seen. I will 1000% bring our pups back in the future. Thanks again for the great service and care, CTAH!

I’ve been going there for about 20 years, and I am always satisfied. He also has a great and friendly staff that is always friendly, and courteous. BTW, the other Dr.Mendez is great too.

10 months ago Positive experience: We took our cat on Saturday 6/6/25 because my sisters raved about this place. It was okay. The front desk was okay. She didn’t greet us. I had to say hello and she did respond with her back to me. Then she got up and handed me a page to fill out. Maybe she wasn’t having a good day or whatever the reason is. Next, we went into our visit. The tech was nice. I mostly handled my cat since she was nervous. She asked if she was agressive, i said no just a nervous cat. My cat did good. Our conversation was short and simple with the tech. She announced the dr will knock before coming in. Dr White was a chill guy. My cat loved him. Again, our talk was simple. He did answered my concerns. He administered her shots. She did great. I did noticed she felt the second one but again it was a good experience no complaints. She bled a little on the third but nothing to worry about. They took her back to trim her nails. The tech brought her back. The tech said she did good which i was glad to hear. We walked out. Waited in the lobby for the gabapentin. Then either a tech or another doctor brought it out and gave me instructions . We checked out. And that was it. My sister said they loved this place. It was okay. I will say it was better than Ann rd Hospital.

11 months ago Positive experience: I liked that I didn't have to wait. But I was charged $70.00 for vaccines excluding rabies. And also a $50.00 exam fee! Their website says, "vacs are accompanied by a consultation and examination with our vets" I don't like that my dog was taken in to the back treatment area. I saw vet for less than 2 minutes. How do I even know that she received vacs or exam.

11 months ago Negative experience: This place is very expensive and uninformed about frenchies. They wanted to remove the cherry gland which should never be removed but sewed back into place. It is necessary to maintain eye function . The fact they went with removal as the 1st option and tried to claim it was necessary to remove in the case of ulcers is absolutely wrong, and would cause the eye to dry out and be very painful . This would be permanent harm and I pray they realize this before it is done to any dog with cherried eyes. I am so horrified to think of what mite have happened if I had not researched this prior to the exam that I won't be returning . They also gave my dog canned cheese spread, unhealthy & unprofessional to use cheese wiz as a distraction in my opinion.

11 months ago Negative experience: I am a fan of Dr V. This is not regarding him as I did not see him. I've been going there since my 1st pet. My last experience there was far from pleasant. Visit went well with Vet. He recommended an ultrasound if my baby was not well in 2-3 days. I called back the 2nd day to schedule the ultrasound and the front desk girl was pathetic. I called 7am, she said she would relate message to vet and call me back. 11am I call back and she quoted me for the ultrasound. Said she would call the tech and let me know the availability and she would call me back. 4pm I called back again, she didn't even seem concerned for my baby's health. She still hadn't call the tech and I was upset. She had me waiting all day for her call. Then said she would call me Monday with an appointment for the ultrasound. Well!!! Why I'm I not surprised she never called me yesterday? This is how your staff cares for out fur babies. I will never return to your office.

My vet wasn't available for a week, Cheyenne got me in same day, cared for the wound at a very affordable price. Friendly staff. I've been using this facility for years for my pet needs

1 year ago Fantastic experience: They are friendly and caring. They didn’t let me know when he was out of surgery. When I did call, they said he was out but couldn’t tell me when he would ready because the docs were in a meeting. I think meetings should occur just before opening. They didn’t follow up after the docs were out. It was was put it on me to call back. I was asked to call back in a couple hours to see if he was ready. I think they should have called to let me know. They know their schedule, they sound be willing to call to let you know they are out of surgery and doing well then a follow up to say hey! Your pet is ready to come home to you! You provide the service it should include the follow up communication to thru discharge. Everyone was nice, but communication is very important especially in today’s day to day when no one wants to communicate, it should be strived for to excel in this. People will notice and appreciate it and hopefully practice it themselves. Other than, that the whole experience was great. Again everyone was friendly, quick to assist. Doc even called me a little later to see how my pup was doing. This business is great but every business including where I work can always improve. So this isn’t a mark against them, just a suggestion. I will keep going back until I move from the area and I would recommend them.

1 year ago Fantastic experience: Great vet clinic! I took 2 seven week old sick puppies to them for an emergency visit without an appointment and they were wonderful with them. I like that the Dr is conservative with his approach and only does necessary tests and treatments (vet care can be expensive)! We will definitely make this our vet of choice with all of our animals from on.

1 year ago Fantastic experience: This Veterinary clinic is amazing! The receptionist Kaye greeted us and our unique situation with a caring, loving and an Understanding attitude. 1 year ago Fantastic experience: We have been coming to this animal hospital since it has been open! We’ve seen Dr. V since day 1 and he’s our favorite, but a close second is Dr. Lucas. He’s so good at communicating everything that needs to be done and you feel like he really loves your pets! He calls multiple times to inform you of every step he’s taking to make your baby better. 1 year ago Fantastic experience: UPDATE: Dr. White and his vet tech pretty much saved my cat's life. Late night Arnold abruptly shut down and stopped eating. At first I thought garlic poisoning and took Arnold to a 24 hour vet which basically didn't have any answers and just gave Arnold fluids and requested to keep him over night. I declined and waited till morning to get Arnold ASAP into Dr. White. By that time Arnold was burning up with 105.5 fever and was immediately taken to the back to get cooled down. Dr. White was super thorough at trying to trouble shoot what was going on with Arnold. Including testing for Kitty AIDS and Pancreatitis. When drawing blood he and his vet tech were observant and smart enough to notice Arnold's blood was not coagulating properly which prompted Dr White to look at his blood under a microscope and notice parasites. Without sending out for a proper lab test though it was impossible to tell which parasite it was , though Dr White tried to figure it out looking through his giant book of Veterinary medicine. Wisely, Dr White prescribed medicine for the worst case scenario since Arnold was in bad shape and couldn't wait for lab tests to be sent out. It was an uncommon medicine that I wound up getting at a human pharmacy at Walgreens because it was not carried by any of the vets in town. But it worked and Arnold is his sweet self again. Just wanted to thank Dr White and his tech for taking time to methodically trouble shoot and notice details that other vets missed. I'm certain Arnold is still here because of it. ORIGINAL REVIEW :I just recently adopted a stray barn kitty named Arnold. And this was his first vet visit just to get a full check up. I was impressed with the facility. It seemed clean and tidy and the staff seemed friendly and nice. My appointment time was kept promptly. Dr White was gentle and loving with Arnold and very thorough, checking his eyes and his teeth and his ears and claws and belly and all his vitals. Will definitely be back!

1 year ago Fantastic experience: (SEE ***UPDATE below) Very nice and the doctors are all with good people skills. BUT, I am surprised that I received no written discharge/post-surgical instructions including after-care and medicine instructions. By the time I got home I'd forgotten most of the basic verbal instructions. I hope they change this for future clients. ***UPDATE: My baby had to have additional surgery a few days after the first one. And this time I received discharge instructions in a printout of his care, including pictures. Now, I am happy BUT I also suggest there be given written instructions included giving some specifics regarding medications, (when to give them and signs of possible adverse side effects) and other small additions written out that maybe specific to your individual case. (such as specific wound care on how to keep the area clean, doing compresses (using what, how often), care of stitches, drain sites, how to or not do aggressively the care, and any other specific instructions particular to your case. I have to say I am pleased this was addressed, and so quickly. Thank you.

1 year ago Negative experience: I have been a loyal client of Cheyenne Tonopah Animal Hospital for over 20 years and have seen many changes during that time. Unfortunately, my recent experience was disappointing. I scheduled an appointment for January 18, 2025, knowing my usual doctor would be unavailable. When I called in January for a price estimate, I was quoted $411 for a spay and just over $500 for a neuter. While their pricing was slightly higher than other places, I trusted the hospital’s reputation and wanted to ensure the best care for my dog. Upon arrival, I was informed by the assistant that the new quote was approximately $830 per dog. Dr. White, who saw us in place of my regular doctor, was dismissive when I mentioned the previous quote I had received. He looked at the computer, stated there was no record of the quoted prices, and implied I was mistaken. I asked if I would incur a charge if I chose not to proceed with the surgeries, and he assured me I wouldn’t. As I was leaving, he loudly announced, "No surgeries today." I then asked the receptionist if my regular doctor could call me, and again, doctor White annouced loudly "he out of the country but would contact me upon his return." As of today, February 11, 2025, I have not received that call. Frustrated with the lack of communication and resolution, I transferred my dogs’ records to another veterinary clinic, where they received the needed procedures at a fair price. Regrettably, I have decided to discontinue my relationship with Cheyenne Tonopah Animal Hospital..

1 year ago Negative experience: The moat affordable vet in Las Vegas. Professional and caring staff. You can tell they love animals. My fur babies have been being cared for there for 8 years now. Unfortunately today my opinion changed. Staff has always shown compassion for animals. I have always taken my dogs there but today my dog was in distress and I was turned away by a new and ride associate at the front desk. They have all new staff and their "love" for animals has definitely changed to focusing on how much money they can get from you up front. Oh, you think your dog is dying,,,OH WELL.

1 year ago Negative experience: I was texted over and over to bring my cat in for a yearly check up. I do not want to give him any shots he doesn't need as he is an indoor cat. They told me the Vet was running late , had a tech give him a rabies shot and never saw the Vet for $50. Going to see the Vet should require being seen by the Vet.

1 year ago Fantastic experience: A wonderful experience compared to my daughter's vet here in Vegas. Visit a lot and will continue to come here for my dog. My daughter, which does live here is also switching. It is nice to come in and not to be treated like a number and NOT wait 2 hours after your appointment time. Have done that 3 times at my daughter's veterinarian. So many dogs and teenagers running the desk and all looking on their cell phones, while in plain view of everyone. This place is NOTHING like that. They care!

I’ve taken my pets to other animal hospitals and I wish I knew about Cheyenne Tonopah Animal Hospital sooner. The entire staff are so pleasant and professional. This is probably the first time my dog wasn’t anxious and barked at anyone coming in. They took great care of my other senior dog who needed a dental procedure. I will definitely take them here if I’m ever back in Las Vegas. Thank you!

He takes the time to listen and explain things to me. He's experienced and caring. He understands that my pet isn't "just an animal" but a part of my family. Their office staff do a great job and are always helpful, too. I'd recommend this clinic to anyone looking for honest, competent, fairly priced services.

1 year ago Fantastic experience: I brought Mamaro Maa-muh-ro (Cat/Male/Neutered) for stomach pain, constipation, hairballs, and throwing up. Everyone was extremely kind and loving to Mamaro the second he came in. Asking me "what's the baby's name?" and "What brings the baby in today?". As well as hardly any wait time. Our DVM was Dr.Lucas they were quick to figure out what was going on and give us a list of options with prices. I asked a million questions, they were all answered kindly. When testing came back negative I was given clear advice and exact products to get. So we could go the route of better diet and increasing water intake. Mamaro also received a nail trim and hydration shot. I know for a fact they handled him with care because after his appointment he slept for a little and then was running around and playing very happily. He was also super snuggly that night. Normally my cat would take the whole day to sleep and recover from going to the vet. The fact that I could visually see and experience my cat who's scared of the vet burst with character later that day is reason enough to recommend, and return. I was genuinely shocked to see Mamaro so vivacious after a vet appointment, let alone the same day. That's how I know when they trimmed his nails, Administered shots, n ran test it was all done with genuine regard to my cats health. Pricing is better than most vets in Las Vegas.
