Fantastic experience: My 6 year old male cat was acting abnormal and peeing small drops outside the litter box. The care we received from the vet doctor was great. He really cared about the condition of my cat. What I appreciated most was reasonable charge on second visit, the empathy the vet had for my cat Grayson, and the vets personal experience with the exact same issue. Grayson is much better after switching to the urinary prescription wet food. At the time this happened he was in need of pain killer and the urinary relaxation pill.

Negative experience: This is a continuation of the review Adrianna had left, Dr Jon Lou straight chuckled at us when we were just asking questions on how we can care for our dog, alongside the copy and paste google reply "on how you care" is just you only care now when you read the reviews, btw Dr Lou that injury you had when you were an orchestral musician you should've paid that $400 for yourself.
We are sorry you feel your experience at our hospital was subpar, as we are committed to providing outstanding medicine and compassionate care for all our patients. That said, while we respect that emergency visits are an incredibly stressful time, we cannot accept comments directed at our team that are hateful. At this time, your account is closed and we believe it would be best for you to seek care at another emergency hospital for any future needs.
Negative experience: I would say if you take your pet here make sure you don’t have Dr Jon Lou because he is very unsympathetic with our bad news we got about our dog and he did not care about our concerns about our dog and he would have an emotionless look on his face and when I asked questions he looked at me like I was dumb for asking them about my pet and he kept calling my dog a she even though was a he and he saw us crying when we got the bad news and he was ready to leave the room and before he left the room he let us know that it’s $400 if we wanna put our dog down and left and that was honestly the worst experience I have ever been through and I hope no one else has to go through that.

Fantastic experience: After being referred by my primary vet to pet dermatologist Dr. Song for my dog Ringo’s ear issues, I was honestly nervous and just hoping for answers. From the moment we walked into VetMed, I felt like we were in the right place. Dr. Song and the entire staff were incredibly kind, patient, and compassionate. He took the time to thoroughly explain what was going on with Ringo’s ears, what the procedure would involve, and what we could expect afterward. He never rushed the conversation and made sure I felt completely comfortable every step of the way. As a dog mom, it’s so hard when your pup isn’t feeling their best. But Dr. Song made me feel confident that we had a solid plan and that Ringo was in great hands. I’m truly grateful for the care, attention, and reassurance we received. Fantastic experience: It was my first time at Vetmed. I had an emergency my 8 month old Yorkie (Alfie) was attacked by a huge Rottweiler. Alfie lost a lot of blood the staff wasted time in taking care of my little angel Alfie. He's home resting on his meds and I'm Beginning to see improvements in hid behavior. I highly recommend VetMde

Fantastic experience: We had excellent care. We were immediately checked in and someone was sent to my vehicle with a cart to take Brady in. Brady was taken to a room and was taken back to give him a sedative to calm him down. The vet came in to discuss what care may be needed and pricing options were provided. Meanwhile since Brady had calmed down the vet tech was able to remove the leash clip from his foot. Brady walked out a happy boy. What I appreciated most was the overall experience of care

Negative experience: The most professional, educated, and resourceful was single vet technician. The rest of the crew and the business model (we won't see you again so we will rip you off now as you have no other choice) is bad. But they do because admittedly they absolutely can. You have no choice.

Fantastic experience: You guys were awesome! Your receptionist apparently looked us up in your records before we got there so knew Daisy's name and that she'd been there before for the same thing-an ear infection. Daisy saw the vet immediately. I actually don't recall their names but they were friendly and easy to talk to! It made a stressful situation so much easier. What I appreciated most was that they acted like they cared about me and my dog, were friendly even though it was 4:30 a.m. The coffee and snack area was appreciated. Took care of Daisy and we were out of there!

Fantastic experience: Excellent from the moment I entered until we left Doctor who saw Magi Marie to the vet tech who came to check her out and brought her to a room for me to console- excellent bedside manner by both. What I appreciated most was the entire team listening to my concerns. I only wish all care providers could learn how important it is to listen to the parent. Even if it is a fur baby- It made me feel confident in their plan of care.

Negative experience: It pains me to write this but I brought my pet into the facility and after she was taken, I was made to pre-pay for a ton of services before I even knew what she really needed. I specifically just wanted a blood panel completed and told the front desk to make a note to ONLY do the blood panel and call me with the results before. They said the latest she would be ready was 7-8PM. Hours had gone by with NO CALL. I dropped her off before 3PM and called three times with no updates. I was only told to wait for the doctor to call. Of course- eventually I just show up around 830pm and still there was no update and I didn’t actually SEE my cat (Without the answers I needed) until 10:30PM….. Absolutely NO communication and my cat was brought in ALREADY ON DRUGS WITH FLUIDS. Entirely aside from the note I told the front desk before I left the building, the doctor said she didn’t hear about it until after she already gave her fluids and meds. Granted- I didn’t pay for those (rightfully) but I paid for plenty else ahead of time with a girl who rung me up for over 2K in care and she hadn’t spoke with the doctor on what my pet even really needed. She also did NOT explain to me what each charge was really for. I can’t stress enough how this experience felt like it worsened her conditions and put me through a ton of stress and money. My sister has been a vet for 9+ years and this is NOT how long blood panels take and the owner should not EVER be surprised when coming in to pick up her pet. Had to go to another specialist as she rejected the medications where I finally got the answers I needed. Very disappointed in this recommendation and the absent quality care. Please do better.

Positive experience: Updating as I go. Came in at 755pm. My dog was taken back at 830pm to have his vitals checked and brought him back out within a few minutes. At 1045pm I had to ask the front desk when the was going to be seen. They said another hour. Finally at 1105pm (3 hours later) he was taken to the back to see the doctor. Will update shortly… 1115pm taken to room for doctors consultation. It only took 10 minutes to check my dog which if that was the case they could have seen him sooner. Doctor came into consultation room at 1135. Dr Turner was actually very good in explaining what could potentially be wrong and suggested great information for follow up with our regular vet. Total visit over 5 hours. We didn’t leave until almost 1AM Unable to give more than 3 stars due to the actual waiting times.

Fantastic experience: We trust Dr. Song with this complex situation we are going through with Snoop. We have been working with him for over a year now getting through chronic ear infections. He has been kind and helpful every step of the way. The front desk staff are great. The techs are always awesome. Our last visit was on 01.21.2026, during this visit Snoop needed labs drawn. Snoop is not always a cooperative patient ha ha. The two techs were able to get His blood drawn in a kind and competent procedure; it was heart warming to see. If you need a dermatologist this is the place to go.

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience with Dr. Kupanoff. She was incredibly attentive, personable, and very communicative throughout the entire process. Our goldendoodle Charlie had surgery for an intramuscular lipoma, and she always made time for us, including multiple phone check ins, which gave us so much peace of mind. She did an amazing job, and Charlie’s recovery went smoothly and better than we could have hoped. We are so grateful for the care, time, and attention she gave both Charlie and us. We truly have a happy, healthy boy because of her, and we appreciate everything she did.

Fantastic experience: Had an overall great experience here with Dr. Kupanoff. Our 7 year old doodle Charlie had a lipoma the size of a grapefruit in his groin, we were all very concerned of him losing his leg, or what impact it would have. Dr. Kupanoff reassured us, took care of our boy, and provided excellent post op follow up and care. I would 100% recommend you use this Vet.

Positive experience: A huge thank you to the front desk ladies that were so kind and helpful. The vet that treated my pet made me never want to go back to VetMed. She wasn’t friendly at all. It just made me a little uncomfortable. She just made lots of facial expressions that indicated that she really had no concern or care about what she was doing and just not personable at all. The whole interaction with her every time she came in the room was just unsettling. 3 stars for the front desk workers and other staff as well as the clean facility. No stars for the vet. Also, she never called us with our pets results. We had to do that for whatever reason. I do want to mention we have taken our pets there many times before with no issues. This was the first time so we may go back again but if that vet is there we will more than likely go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: They took Kadie right in for an x-ray. Gave us all the information up front so we could make the best decision about her care. They called like they said to let us know the surgery went well and they cared for Kadie afterwards. The surgeon they called in that night that talked with us, (I don't remember her name). She was kind and compassionate and she did a great job with the surgery as Kadie is doing fine and her wound is healing nicely. What I appreciated most was the information they provided upfront and the care they gave our dog.

Fantastic experience: The care was excellent. We were able to get right in, appropriately 8 pm. We don't have long to wait before Dr. Blom came and talked with us. She gave us possible senarios with what was wrong with Phineas. Long story short, he's got crystals in his urinary tract. We went home to waiting while they gave him meds and an IV. We picked him up at 1 am and took him home with meds and some different types of wet food for urinary issues. This is the second time we've brought one of our cats to VetMed. My own vet recommended them. What I appreciated most was being able to get my cat in without a long wait time.

Negative experience: The only reason this is two stars is because the front desk gals were so sweet, the vet techs where busy and seemed overwhelmed with how may animals were in. The interrogate we ended up with… absolutely horrible. Didn’t explain anything to my husband, didn’t discuss anything just said things what’s needed and this is what he has. Without the tests even being back. I will say thankfully we did start treatment regardless of results by request. I sent them a message, was called, told I would have his prescription the same day. Three hours later and nothing. I called the er line, they couldn’t send it. So now I have to wait even longer to send in the prescription I originally asked to be sent th very first appointment and again today. I’ve been in healthcare for over ten years. YOU DONT FORGET THE SEND A PERSCRIPTION. Extremely unprofessional. I highly recommend going elsewhere wear for internal medicine. I had a friend who used to work here. He also said they have crashed and burned since going corporate. Unfortunately we had already had the first horrible interaction now we are trying to get out of this place.

Fantastic experience: The entire staff at MetMED is simply wonderful. They are professional and caring. They are also friendly and compassionate. They are sensitive concerning financial limitations of some of us who are not able to afford expensive diagnostic testing, etc. Sometimes we are faced with sad and difficult decisions. One can only hope that somehow we provided a pet with a good home while we could. They did everything they could to help my cat. Money was the obstacle for me. Negative experience: We came here because our cat was deathly ill. We didn't want to wait until Monday to see the Vet so we came here. Our cat was taken away pretty quickly but then it was nearly four hours until we were gone. We didn't get a call from the Vet (we were in parking lot because of Covid) for quite some time. He told us that he had actually looked at our cat a long time before but that he had just got around to calling me. All he had to say is that they needed to run about $4000 in tests to find out what was going on. After he transferred me, they told me the amount again. I said I didn't have that much. Their reply was, "How much do you have?" I am not buying a car, I am trying to save my cat who can't walk, who is shaking and not eating. Their reply is they need to run the tests to properly diagnose and they had no intention of trying anything until we performed the tests. I couldn't. So, we paid the $300+ for the visit that was pointless. The Vet said our cat appeared to be much older than what he was and wouldn't make it until Monday. It was Thursday. I went and bought an animal feeding syringe and fed my cat pureed turkey that way along with giving him water. He responded and we made it until Monday. They prescribed amoxicillin and after two weeks, our buddy was back to normal. We visited in February and now it's June. The medicine cost $25. I am absolutely disgusted with the money grabbing they do and that they play on your emotions. The Vet I talked to said he couldn't provide a treatment because he didn't know what it was. Funny that my vet was able to take care of it for $25. We are emotionally attached to our animals and they were trying to exploit that. The fact they asked how much I do have was appalling. "We will just run all the tests and take as much money as we can" seems to be the policy in my experience. This is a business first, obviously. The lady who took our cat was nice, but the overall experience was horrible. The fact that he could have prescribed the medicine that saved our cats life but chose not to says a lot about them. Especially when he added that my cat wouldn't make it to Monday, playing on my emotions. Some would call that manipulation. They offered no advice at all for feeding or anything. $300+ for nothing. Good thing I am not rich or I wouldn't have hesitated to spend the money to save my buddy and would have just been throwing it away. First and last time to this place. UPDATE 2026: Solo is still going strong. He has never had any issues since then. (Won't naken it until Monday!!!) UPDATE 2025: Solo is still with us! UPDATE 2024: Solo is still with us 3 years later, after being told he wouldn't last the weekend. UPDATE 2023: Solo is still going strong! UPDATE 2022: our cat Solo is still with us. That antibiotic was all he needed. Still livid at the money grabbing and complete lack of care from this facility. All that was needed was a cheap antibiotic (amoxicillin).

Fantastic experience: My four year old cat Mimzy was diagnosed with end stage kidney failure. She was loved by Jess, and it was clear by my frequent updates. Front desk staff was so kind and warm. All her doctors were extremely thorough and empathetic of the situation given that sweet Mimzy was so young. Jess, Dr. Turner, Dr. Lee, and Dr. H (unsure how to spell her name) were an amazing team and I know they took great care of my girl. I work in the field and I know they did everything they could for her. I took her home for a few days and she was playing, eating, and enjoying time with her brother. What I appreciated most was the compassion and empathy I felt by everyone on the team. Mimzy unfortunately passed away a few days after bringing her home because she went into heart failure, her little body couldn’t handle the treatment for her kidneys. She will be missed by many❤️

Fantastic experience: Two nights ago we had to make the most difficult decision regarding our 15 year old labradoodle, Sadie. From the moment we walked into VetMed (Cave Creek Rd) we were treated with urgency and compassion. We were immediately given a patient room. The Tech came and heard Sadie's background and current issues. Then the doctor came to see Sadie. She was taken to the exam room and returned. We consulted with the doctor and we were given options as to what could be done. We choose the end of life option to end the distress that she was in. Negative experience: Took our dog here on a Saturday morning after she had been sick for about a week and quickly declined on a Friday night. Nurses were nice enough while we waited for the vet. The vet we seen was Brian White. He did not have a warm energy to him whatsoever and seemed like he had his mind made up before he came in the room. He told us our dog had pyometra and would need surgery. He told us our dog looked so so sick (not to state the obvious) and asked how much we were willing to spend. I told him I had no idea how much the surgery would cost and he ballparked 6-7k. We decided we would find somewhere else to get the surgery. After we left I looked everywhere for someone to do the surgery asap. Then I come to find out he put on the paperwork that Athena had NEVER seen a vet, was overly malnourished and that we refused bloodwork. I had given him vet paperwork from 2024 when she got her vaccines that shows she was healthy then and they never offered bloodwork at the ER. This made other affordable vets deny her for surgery…I didn’t know how that would work but he did and still put that on the paperwork. This makes me wonder why he asked “how much are you willing to spend?” Was he just assuming we wouldn’t have enough? Did he already make up his mind the we were bad owners? We went desperately in need of help of our family dog that we love sooo soo much. I feel disgusted that we even went to him for help at all. Thank goodness we found an AMAZING vet to do the surgery and my dog is now 1 week post op doing great!!

Negative experience: We had a terrible experience and would under no circumstances recommend trusting your fur baby with VetMED. We took our dog there a few months ago as it was a weekend and our vets office was closed. They diagnosed him with pancreatitis and said he should stay there for three days. On a visit with our dog on day two he was doing much better so we were going to bring him home but they recommended keeping him one more day to monitor him so we agreed as we didn’t want to bring him home prematurely. Literally on our drive to pick him up on day three they called and said he had a seizure and he could no longer walk. We got there and he was crying in pain, couldn’t walk, and you could just tell he neurologically wasn’t there anymore. We asked what happened and asked if he fell or if there was an accident as he does tend to squirm a lot when in an unfamiliar place and he was doing so much better the day prior. Dr Wun said he will no longer treat our dog nor continue care if we were accusing them of something. We weren’t accusing, we were just asking and trying to find out what happened that he went downhill so quickly after seemingly being on the road to recovery less than 24 hours prior. We took him home, he had a horrible night in so much pain and unable to stand. We took him to our vet the next day, and he had to cross the rainbow bridge that same day due to the brain damage and neurological damage he suffered. VetMed sure had no troubles taking the $8000 they charged us though. We will forever regret not bringing him home on day two when he was doing better but trusted the advice of VetMED and as a result my husband lost his bestest buddy. They are shameful and in my opinion should be shut down.

Negative experience: Our experience at this emergency vet was awful. We spent nine hours there with our very sick puppy, and the staff moved incredibly slowly. Despite the doctor telling us he was in severe pain, they never gave him any pain medication at all, and no IV fluids were administered until we were already being discharged. The doctor even told us he had a low chance of surviving the night, yet still pushed costly inpatient treatment. They didn’t run a white blood cell count until the last 30 minutes of our visit. Tragically, our puppy passed away on the way home after receiving almost no real care all day. Based on our experience, I would never recommend this place. Please be aware.

Negative experience: I just left the emergency room to vetmed. I waited over 3 hours. Because my fur baby had blood in his stool. I had two nurses come in ask me the same questions. And never saw a doctor after that no x-rays no blood work no IV nothing. They said they were very busy. But I saw five nurses in the front and I only saw two other dogs that came and went. I asked him how much longer they told me they didn't know. Needless to say I was heartbroken I have never experienced such neglect coming from a place that's supposed to be emergency. You think you say my dog is pooping blood that they would at least run a quick x-ray but not even that not even fluids after I told them he had nothing to drink or eat for almost 2 days. And they didn't even try to console me or at least give me some advice on what to look for. I had no choice to leave because I had to pick up my youngest son from work. And I have my other son who is special needs a special Olympic gold medalist who is worried sick about our family pet. I am very hurt and disappointed.

Her ears were so bad that we were considering a TECA-BO procedure. Dr. Song has our coonhound’s ears looking they best they have in years. Negative experience: The doctors here are just awful. Use their facilities for any traumatic situation or for stabilization but never trust anything they say. In the last two years after new administration they have even gone to a new level of horrible. Before I delve into history last episode a day ago. Dog had a known issue and everything is expected and she's 14 years old well past expected life but still lives like a puppy. All of a sudden she had internal bleeding which was eventually going to happen and brought her in due to a collapse to see if she could get stabilized. I opted out of surgery that would take a year for a dog that likely would not survive it due to her age and would live in pain for the last of it. Was going to euthanize as suggested but she stood up and her gums started to get some color, And as my Midwest vet with 50 years experience said I did the right thing taking her home to give her a fighting chance for some more time as she has been so happy and active even with her condition every day (which when showed videos of gave them disbelief). Anyway on the paper it said to call if She was vomiting and I did. Several times and simply asked for anti nausea and some Royal Canin liquid food. Of course was denied for some reason and worse they couldn't even get a hold of the doctor so they refused to even hear it. And was told I had to bring her in again just to get liquid food. So another $488 later, They still refused to give her that liquid food that I had used from them two years prior for her recovery at my request. I mean if she's going to die anyway as they saywhat harm can this do? It's just $25 a bottle/day for a couple of days. Ended up going elsewhere for the food. They keep saying for the pets best interest but that's a farce I mean why wouldn't You want her to recover other than push to have it stay in a cage at their facility.... Yes I paid almost $500 just to get a bottle of liquid food which they refused, likely out of spite, that any caring vet would never deny even if it was just to make the "owner" happy. Other recent issues: She had a problem with her right rear leg And I just said I needed some anti-inflammatory and would do red laser... They insisted they needed to do about $10,000 worth of reconstruction on a 14-year-old dog with a year-long recovery which wouldn't even live that long. Needless to stay after Just a week of inflammation medication and red laser therapy She was literally running around over a mile everyday. This was about $1,000 but I didn't really care about the cost, But I can't imagine how many people they have conned into spending over $10,000 and putting their pet in agony for so long needlessly. Even going further back 2 years ago they said she had a few days to live and again my longtime friend who's been a vet for over 50 years and still is told me exactly what to do and it kept her going and happy for years when they would have had me euthanize her. At least back then they gave her the meds under my statement "if you say she's going to die anyway what's the problem" If a pet is going to die anyway why not facilitate something that's requested especially with the history of proven recovery from those requests? They are simply trying to force treatments that generate them money like overnight stays and such... These are photos and video of her for the last 2 years and most recent even the day of the event. They have been wrong about every prognosis and I'm hoping they are wrong about this very last one. Either way I'm just trying to give her as many more days as possible without suffering. My old vet friend contradicted so much of what they said from 1,500 mi away for years. And he hasn't been wrong. He's saying what I'm doing is the right thing by her while the staff here keeps trying to tell me what is the best thing for them. don't trust a thing they say - get independent review. Which is unfortunate because It diminishes their ability to save due to their lack of honesty and self-interest. Most of the 5 start reviews are fake.

Negative experience: I took my cat here for an emergency visit on 10/30 because he had a nosebleed and was sneezing. The staff told me they checked his vitals, examined him, and that everything looked good, and sent us home with no treatment. My cat’s condition got worse, so I called back. I was told their notes say he was never examined by a doctor at all, and that I left before being seen. That is not true — they took him to the back, told me his vitals were good, and told me he was fine. Now they refuse to help, and my cat is still sick. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of care, the incorrect medical record, and the unwillingness to take responsibility. Fantastic experience: Overall, the staff are great and very inviting. I felt comfortable bringing my dog there. The only thing I wish Dr. song would have done a thorough all skin inspection on my dog. I just felt like he could've been examined a little bit more thoroughly as far as it's overall skin conditions. Reception, vet tech and I believe an intern What I appreciated most was how inviting the staff are and the welcoming atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: I went to work and my 2 year old Frenchie was playing, came home to her dragging her back legs and having a hard time breathing. Fantastic experience: This comes a few months after our first visit to VetMed. After two trips to our own vet and still not knowing what was wrong with our cat Skippy we were told he needed a scan to see what was happening. We ended up taking him to VetMed on a Friday because we didn't know what else to do... he seemed on his last moments, not eating for days and lethargic with no energy. Dr. Hough was amazing and very empathetic. She knew Skippy was in trouble. They kept him all weekend, sent me text updates and pics of how he was doing numerous times a day. It was determined he had Cancer. They sent us home with meds and instructions on how to keep him comfortable until it was his time to leave us. Skippy lasted two months before we had to say goodbye! We cherished every minute we had left with him. We're truly so grateful to Dr. Hough and her team at VetMed and the endless compassion they showed for Skippy and us. It's been three weeks since Skippy left us and we felt it was time to let others know how wonderful Dr. Hough and VetMed are. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: VetMed has been our family's go-to ER vet since 2016, and our visit today only served to affirm that. One of our pets was brought in this morning after falling ill very suddenly, and we were seen immediately. Dr. Blom and her team were incredible through one of the hardest days of our lives as we ultimately were left with the option of humane euthanasia. The kindness and compassion that poured out of every member of staff and the low-lit, comfortable care room the procedure was performed in made for as positive experience as it could possibly have been. Robin also went above and beyond to provide compassion and care for us, and we will never be able to express our gratitude enough. This was a hard and awful day, but it could have been so, so much worse without the team at VetMed. Thank you for all that you do for owners and the animals we love.

Fantastic experience: The care and attention shown to my cat Geddy was outstanding. I brought Geddy in for a dermatology concern and he was so carefully treated by Yolissa the technician. Geddy needed some cleaning up because he didn't tolerate the car trip very well. Yolissa took care of everything making sure that Geddy was freshened up and prepared for his exam. Geddy has a bald patch on his ear and Dr. Song came in and spoke to Geddy in the most compassionate tones. Dr. Song took careful notes of Geddy's condition and examined him with some high tech equipment. Dr. Song even did a recheck for a condition that Geddy had several months ago(which was expertly corrected by Dr. Song). I was very much impressed with the attention Geddy received and the cost was much less than I anticipated. Yolissa was outstanding in preparing Geddy for his exam. I appreciated her efforts both prior to the exam and during the exam.< br />Dr.Song appears to speak "cat" he made Geddy feel comfortable. I value Dr.Song's ability with my cat. The expert concern and compassion shown towards me and my pet.

Fantastic experience: My dog was in great hands at VetMed. This place has good people who truly care. What I appreciated most was the attention Dr. Lee and Vet Tech Jess provided my dog. Actually there were 2 vet techs (I’m sorry I’m not sure of the night techs name, but thank you too!) I could tell they really cared and did all they could to help my dog get better and feel comfortable during his time there. I also appreciate how the phone is answered right away when you call. The night and day techs provided daily updates in the morning and at night, and it was a great way to keep me updated. The communication was consistent. That is great customer service.

Fantastic experience: I made contact about an issue with my pup. They let me send pictures for a quick analysis. I then came to the location. Everyone was super friendly and very thorough. Couldn't be happier. I feel terrible about this, but I'm really bad with names. The person I spoke with over the phone, and then in person was amazing. The doctor was great too, but every single person was caring and friendly. What I appreciated most was the prompt and thorough care for my pet and how friendly everyone was.

Fantastic experience: We have utilized VetMed twice for significant crises we have experienced with our dogs. Most recently, we sought emergency care for our 13 1/2 year old dog. We experienced attentive care and compassionate staff. The initial evaluation of our dog's condition was thorough and empathetic. Our final discussion, although not the outcome we had anticipated, guided us to navigate the decision that we ultimately had to make. We walked in to VetMed after being turned away from her regular vet and from a different urgent care facility even though their own clinic referred us and it was more than an hour before closing. VetMed got us in right away. Our dog is very ill so this was potentially life saving for her.
She was seen and diagnosed quickly, hospitalized and began to improve dramatically and immediately. Dr. Blom not only provided incredibly good medical care, she was very compassionate and patient in the process.

After discharge our dog had more pain than we anticipated and we brought her back in for follow up. She was again seen immediately and given wonderful care. Dr. Mazur helped her with her pain. Fantastic experience: Our cat Petunia had to be seen at VetMed after swallowing a needle and thread, which was an incredibly stressful situation. The emergency team responded quickly and with great care. They walked us through every step, explained the possible outcomes clearly, and made sure we felt informed about the process. While the object eventually passed naturally, Petunia still required exploratory surgery to be certain it was not causing plication in her digestive system. Throughout the ordeal, the doctors and staff were compassionate, attentive, and extremely communicative, which helped us feel much more at ease. As with any emergency hospital, the costs are high, but I did feel that the level of care and the transparency from the team justified the expense. Petunia was monitored closely, and it was clear that she was in good hands. The only critique I have is regarding her surgical closure. The incision was stitched in a way that left the skin puckered and uneven, with one end not fully aligned. This has slowed down healing in that area compared to the rest of the incision, and I think the surgeon (or assistant) could have done a cleaner job closing her up. While it hasn’t caused major complications, it’s worth noting for quality of surgical finish. Overall, I am very grateful for the excellent emergency response and the kindness of the staff, but I do hope attention to detail in post-surgical closure can be improved.

May spent EIGHT agonizing days in critical care related to a failed soft palate procedure, and while it was an emotional roller coaster, the team at VetMed saved her life. They live their mission, and it shows in their culture of growth, education, and dedication. Fantastic experience: My cat experienced health problems for several months. My primary veterinarian conducted extensive diagnostic testing; however, she could not find a cause, so she referred me to the internal medicine department at VetMed. I was impressed by the doctor's knowledge and expertise. He immediately identified the health issue, a diagnosis we had been working to identify for six months. He then verified it through testing and provided a treatment plan. We will check in on it in a month and refine it if needed. I am deeply grateful for his knowledge and experience in helping my cat and appreciated the kidness and patience of all staff.
