They were compassionate, fair and understanding over the past few months when our Jakey had multiple health concerns and the whole staff made many efforts to fit us in when we needed to be seen and were very helpful in preparing us to make one of the hardest choices we ever had to make. If we decide to get another dog in the future we will be back Thank You

Fantastic experience: I unfortunately had to make the sudden decision last week to put down my senior kitty, Cookie. After several calls around town to different vets and in home euthanasia companies, I came across South Seminole. I have never come across a team that is so compassionate and empathetic. From the moment I called I was treated with so much respect. They were able to get Cookie in the same day on short notice and ushered us into a room when we arrived so we wouldn’t have to be in the waiting room. The tech and Dr. Tonks were so kind and comforting to me and my family. They treated Cookie like their own animal and I couldn’t have asked for more. I really appreciated the payment being handled while they took Cookie to get her catheter, and they brought her back in a blanket for me to hold her while they pushed the medicine. Even in picking up her remains the staff was so kind and sympathetic. On top of all of this, the clinic was incredible clean and didn’t have any animal smell at all. I will absolutely bring all of my cats here from now on to see Dr. Tonks and team.

Fantastic experience: Great job with my beloved male maltese dog for a long long time when he had dental surgery, bass removed etc. Great job with my sweetie jack russell terrier female dog for few years. All tgexstaff are very friendly..

Fantastic experience: Our dogs have been with SSAH since we adopted them over 14 years ago. We found this clinic as they would provide services to local rescues and we never stopped visiting. Dr. Tonks and her staff are simply amazing and care for our furbabies as much as we do.

When my kitty was sick they were very straight to the point and gave me great information so I could make educated decisions about how to move forward. So grateful to have found a place where my kitty is taken care of and I don’t feel like they are just trying to get money out of me. Ps. She is doing so much better now :)

They even sent us a thank you card with real handwritten note and signatures. Also were pretty darn reasonable price wise. I can honestly say I'm not likely to go anywhere else for my cat.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking my dogs to South Seminole Animal Hospital for years now on a friend's recommendation and the service they provide is excellent! I can usually get an appt same or next day if needed urgently. The whole staff is so kind and friendly and seem to really love my pups. The vets take their time and answer any questions, and the vets have personally called to check in on my dogs after procedures or illnesses.

Negative experience: Just got a new puppy and a friend recommended SSAH. I called to schedule a Saturday appointment, since we work during the week, and was informed they are not open on Saturdays. I've never heard of a veterinarian who is closed on Saturdays.

Fantastic experience: Today was my 1st vet visit with my newly adopted dog & Dr. Jette and Julie were so amazing with him. Front desk was sweet & helpful as well. I felt extremely anxious beforehand due to previous vet visits at different clinics but I felt totally comfortable once they came in the room & I knew my dog was in good hands.

Fantastic experience: Dr Bereleman was so gentle with my boy, she was very comforting to me as well. I'm so grateful she was able to see Mack immediately when I noticed he was in distress.

Fantastic experience: This is an excellent vet! We've been going there for about a year with our pugs (and the pugs we foster for Pug Rescue of Florida). The staff is always friendly and you can tell they really love animals. Dr. Tonks is amazing.

Negative experience: Have called this office before and they were super helpful. Unfortunately I called today asking for a “ball park” price on a teeth cleaning and they refused to give me a range because they want to force an office visit. It’s unfortunate that vets are business first and doctors second. Would love to find an office that cares about animals more than how much money they can make.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely the veterinarian for us - me and my mini schnauzer! He made the choice, too. Great staff. Friendly techs and docs. Everyone takes such great care of my little guy... he actually runs from the car to the door pulling me along. I'm pretty sure he enjoys just going to hang out with everyone. Thank you for taking care of my partner in crime and helping be a better dog parent.

Fantastic experience: We've been visiting this office for over a year now and I can't thank them enough for all they've done for us. We have a 5 year old flame point siamese with a world of health concerns and we've had a handful of scares since just starting with this vet. Dr Tonks & staff always go above and beyond. They work with our specilist to ensure my cat gets the best care always. This weekend she stopped urinating and I called to get an emergency visit and they fit us right in. They're professional, clean, and really love my cat. I won't go anywhere else for her.

Fantastic experience: Superb. I cannot overstate how wonderful this place is. We went to Dr. Jordan (great) for a long time, but when she moved, we searched for a quality practice. We found one, but it was $500+ every time we walked in the door and a three day wait to get in. A friend suggested South Seminole Animal Hospital. From the first visit, we knew this was the place. Compassionate, caring, attentive, polite, kind, knowledgeable; I'll run out of adjectives to describe why this is the right choice. In a time when good service seems to be an afterthought, I had to leave a positive review for the whole team here to thank them. I seldom leave reviews, but this one was warranted. Please keep up the exceptional service.

Fantastic experience: When I had to say goodbye to my little Gizmo last week, they allowed my daughter and grandchildren in the room with us to show how much we all loved him. They have us all time that we needed. They even sent a card, signed by all the staff members. Thank you so much Dr. Tonks for putting me more at ease and letting me know that I was doing what was best for him!

Negative experience: I have taken my animals to this location for over 20 years and they were always great until recently. The new blonde vet does not know what she is talking about. She has given friends false hopes to cure an incurable cancer in a feline.. she has put my cat on medicine that made him incredibly sick instead of actually hearing our concerns.. and now sadly Dr. Tonks just backs her up when you call her about concerns about the newer vet. I guess if you do choose this location save yourself and request dr. Tonks directly because the other lady does not deserve to be a vet, at all.

Fantastic experience: 2 weeks ago I had a horrible experience. Without going into detail, the veterinarian here at SSAH euthanized my dog at my request wafter she was cared for improperly by another local vet. She was 15 years old and suffering. The people at SSAH were kind and understanding and did everything possible to ease my grief. They were respectful and considerate. I had wasted over $200 at the other vet, and then there was the cost of euthanasia. Several days later, I had to bring in another one of my dogs to SSAH. Dr. Tonks prescribed medication to help her immediate problem but radiography revealed that my dog has some serious underlying conditions that required a specialist and very expensive treatment which is impossible for me. That initial visit cost close to $300. I'm elderly (76) and live on a small pension. I had already spent about $600 on vet expenses and I wrongly took out my frustration and anger on the people who deserved it least, these professional women who had treated me and my animals so kindly. My unflattering review was the result of my anger, mostly at myself, for being unable to afford comprehensive care for my dog. Veterinary costs have indeed skyrocketed, but so has everything else. I'm now in the position of having lost one dog, and have two more geriatric dogs in poor health. I'm terrified of the future in terms of being able to properly care for them. All that is unfortunate, but none of it is SSAH's fault or responsibility. It was ill-advised for me to write a review while I was overwrought and upset. My sincerest apologies. SSAH did nothing wrong and provided the best care possible within my financial limitations. To my knowledge, they are the best people with whom to trust your beloved pets.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Tonks has been with my girls for the past 12 and 10 years. She is an amazing vet... her staff is amazing too! She recently (March) found a mass on my 12 yo puggle Sadie’s spleen and gave me options as well as suggesting where I could take her for an ultrasound and possible surgery. I’m positive it broke her heart just as much as it did mine when she had to tell me. I chose not to proceed with that route and she did not pressure me to do so or insinuate that I was wrong in my choice. Respecting me and telling me that she doesn’t think it’s the wrong choice made that day a little better. What she did do though was figure out what we could do and make sure that Sadie has the best quality of care and dignity. Lil’ dog as she calls Zoey absolutely adores her too. Dr. Tonks is VERY thorough and if she suspects something is off yes she wants to run tests! That’s awesome to me and it also shows her dedication. She doesn’t just pull the idea of running tests out of thin air or for the money she does it because she wants to help your fur baby. I have never walked away thinking anything negative... I am always satisfied I got the best prognosis and treatment plan for my pups when I walk out the door. I’ve seen complaints about pricing... you get what you pay for and honestly she is NOT expensive for all that she does. That office visit fee... I could do without out lol (it is less than most places) BUT to be 100% honest that office fee gets you a full exam every time you go. It’s worth it because her doing a full hands on exam every time you are there means she can catch any changes very quickly. I have called many times with questions and if she’s available (in between patients) she will talk to you right then if not she returns your call and I’ve had them returned at 7pm. Do you know how long of a day that is for her??? I can’t say enough good things about her. Now to be totally fair, Dr. Tonks couldn’t be the amazing Doc that she is without the wonderful team she has working along side of her. Her staff is so loving, caring and nurturing to my pups and my girls feel the same way for them. If you want phenomenal care go to South Seminole Animal Hospital... your animals will thank you. P.S. she also NEVER makes you feel rushed no matter what. Thank you everyone for all you have done for my girls over the years! Maria , Sadie and Zoey aka lil’ dog ♥️♥️

Fantastic experience: Found a stray cat and took it here for treatment. Staff was amazing and managed to squeeze me in on a Friday last minute. Took great care of kitty, got me all the medication needed to get her in good health. Took her to her follow-up appointment two weeks later and as you can tell from the picture, she's doing much better. I will continue to use this clinic for my pets in the future.

Negative experience: I took my cat there a year ago in April because Dr. Hill wasn't in that day. Long story, short - I spent nearly $2000 to "cure" my cat which anyone would have known was dying. Dr. Tonks took x-rays and then referred me to AVS for an ultrasound. Even after that, she wanted to run more tests when I told her my cat wasn't eating. She said, "That's not good". I wrote her, Dr. Hill, and AVS all a letter, hand delivered, requesting a refund of some of the money I was charged. None of them responded. When, out of desperation, I called to have my other cat checked out, Dr. Tonks came to the phone and told me, "I don't think you're a good fit for us". You think? She is definitely aware of the bottom line, despite all their assertions that they care for all pets. This is probably true, but at what expense to the owners, especially senior citizens on a fixed income? No vet is cheap anymore, but it's almost cheaper to take your pet to the ER Clinic than to a regular vet. Now I know that isn't feasible or advisable. I'm just comparing their charges to ER charges. Owners beware. Think it over before you agree to all the tests Dr. Tonks wants you to subject your pets to.

Fantastic experience: I am so happy to have found this vet. Dr Tonks was so patient with my nervous boy, she did everything she could to keep him calm. You can tell she absolutely loves what she does and treats every pet as if they were her own. This is truly the best vet I have ever been to. They even sent me a hand written welcome card! Don’t go anywhere else in Orlando, this vets office is the best!!

Fantastic experience: Best Vet (Dr. Tonks) and office I've honestly ever had. Small and older building but super clean. Desk staff is friendly and efficient. The doctor talks to me like I'm an adult and gives fantastic advice about both my animals. Hidden gem!

Fantastic experience: June 22, 2020 I have taken two dogs here over the past 29 1/2 years - Woody and Darby (two Border Terriers). We started with Dr. McGinnis and he was great as were the staff. I think Shelly, the receptionist and voice on the answering machine, joined about 25 years ago. The office has done well by my dogs and the staff is really well-qualified and pleasant. I was a bit disappointed when Dr. McGinnis sold the practice some years ago to Dr. Catherine Tonks. But she won Darby and me over in a heartbeat. They are exceptional and also reasonable in terms of treatment recommendations and prices. I highly recommend South Seminole Animal Clinic to any pet owner. Past: Great staff. Dr. Tonks is great. Never thought I'd accept a new Doc after 25 years of McGinnis. They all take great care of Darby and all of their patients.

They are patient, answer all questions, and have done an amazing job meeting the demands of the recent pandemic. Fantastic experience: Dr. Tonks and her staff are fantastic. I’ve been going to them for close to 10 years now and I’ve never had anything but good experiences. Recently my little guy had some heart issues. Dr. Tonks was quick to recognize that something more serious could be going on. She referred me to AVS where I had some additional tests done. Thanks to her referral his issues were addressed and he’s doing much much better. I highly recommend Dr. Tonks and her team. she cares and listens and really takes her time to make sure your pet gets the best care. Everyone there is just lovely!

They carry a large variety of healthy dog food for pups, adult dogs and senior dogs. They prefer a call and appointment but I have just showed up and been taken in after a wait. Highly recommended.@
