They had different plans for treatment and let me decide which one I wanted to do. They didn't pressure me into unnecessary things. The technician was so good with my pet.

We have been very happy with the care they’ve both received through preventive care, cancer care, and other surprise illnesses/care needs. We have especially appreciated Dr. Sadler’s compassion and communication, but are thankful for the entire staff and team of vets!

Cassie the vet technician loved on Stoli while Dr. Josh performed his exam as though she were her own pet. Very comforting environment. Dr. Josh sent a text message to follow up shortly after our visit and we received a phone call the following day. Top notch service. Thank you! Update: January 2026 Stoli had the pleasure of being seen by Dr. Hansen for her annual exam. He spoke clearly and compassionately. I appreciated how thorough and informative he was. Stoli and I felt very at ease and I couldn’t ask for more!

They diagnosed Liza with an ear infection and provided the medicine she needed. And within a couple days Liza was back to normal feeling much better.

Experiencia fantástica: This place is amazing in every sense of the word. The staff are very nice, professional, and helpful. They truly care about the health and well-being of the animals. I really appreciate all that they do to ensure that their services are affordable as well. My dog is a strong breed, who is very excitable around other animals. For this reason we have to walk directly into a room, and avoid interactions with other pets. The staff is always so kind and accommodating for my boy's special circumstances. They actually make us feel normal. Other places have treated us very poorly and made rude comments about my dog's behavior. I've actually left places in tears without even being seen, but NEVER a bad experience here. The incredible people here immediately recognized my dog's cues during his first appointment and suggested that they perform his exam separately from me. This was a game changer. My dog was very calm and well-behaved when he wasn't busy "protecting" me. I trust them wholeheartedly and I'm so grateful for their care. If you love your pets and want the BEST care please come to St. Bernards.

Experiencia fantástica: We do appreciate Dr. Ron Hansen. He is the best veterinarian - by far. Dr. Henson has treated our fur children for the last 40 years - with compassion and honesty. Our 2 Husky/German shepherd mix have provided us with unconditional love and loyalty. Both of them are sisters. One of them, Atka, has epilepsy, which is treated professionally and with great care by Doc Henson. So far, so good. She is still very lively. Saphira, gentle and kind, however, has shocked us when she was diagnosed with cancer by Doc Henson on August 4ty, 2023. We are devastated and heartbroken beyond any measure imaginable. Again, Doc Henson gave us great comfort, discussing what would happening. For right now, a life without Saphira is unthinkable. She somehow knew when this family suffered great pain when my husband passed away. With patience, Saphira would check my husband's bed every morning and patiently waited for my husband at the door to return. Even now - she continues this routine. Dr, Ron Henson has been a Blessing to this family - and we are blessed to call him our fur children's friend. St. Bernhard Hospital is fortunate to have him on his staff. Thank you, Dr. Henson, for having chosen this profession.

Experiencia fantástica: The experience my dog and I had here couldn’t have been better. I had brought my dog here before for vaccinations, but a few weeks ago she had a rash all over her and she was clearly so uncomfortable. They got us in right away, the vet got down on the floor with her and helped her be less nervous, respected her space but got what they needed, and got her treated that day. Her rash cleared up within like two days, and they gave me long term advice too. This is by far the best experience I’ve had with a vet in Jacksonville.

The doctor was so gentle and patient with him. Finding an amazing vet was so difficult in New York and when I finally did we moved to Florida. So, I too was nervous about going, but I definitely recommend St Bernard's Animal Hosptal!

UPDATE: My little sick dog (above) crossed rainbow bridge, but I recently visited with my new rescue. They were top notch once again, made my buddy feel secure and me confident that I was in the best care facility. They called the next day to make sure he was doing fine. We were blessed to have our two pets for 18 years, and they took great care of them with regular checkups. But where they shine for us was in there compassionate care toward the end of their lives. They’re extremely busy and can’t tend or love all of the animals as you’d expect. Others have great relationship with this vet but we did not connect. Thank you but never again.

Experiencia fantástica: I want to start by saying I have been coming to this vet for many years. I unfortunately have had to bring my dog Lilly here many times. However, each time I’ve brought here they have always taken care of her. I just recently had to put my dog down because she had a break in her neck. When I brought Lilly to the vet she was in an immense amount of pain. Dr. Hanson did X-rays but he couldn’t find anything wrong. He ended up sending her X-rays to a radiology specialist and turns out she had a break in her neck and most likely would not have recovered. I am so thankful Dr. Hanson took the time to send off those x-rays. I would’ve spend the rest of my life wondering if I made the right decision. I am now at peace knowing she is no longer in pain. Thank you to all the staff who have cared so much for my sweet Lilly.

Experiencia negativa: We have been going to St Bernard animal hospital since it has opened on San Jose Blvd in Jacksonville. I was not a happy camper on Saturday and really am starting to look for a new vet. I’m sorry this is going to be a very long post. When we got there Dr Hudson walked in and said she was due for her shots. I have a 12 year-old golden retriever and was reading that is better off giving them a tighter test at this time instead of giving them a shot that they do not need. He sat there and argued with me that the shot was good and that the test was very expensive I said I didn’t care how much the test was and I had already called ahead of time to find out that the price was $240. Dr. Hudson said you realize that the shots are only $60. I said I do not care I want the tighter test done and I’m not putting something in my dog she does not need especially at this age. He was very hesitant to do the tighter but did get it done while he was doing it and taking her blood he must’ve went in on the vein and she was bleeding all over the floor. For someone that does this every day I cannot understand that she’s bleeding the way she was. This is not my first rodeo I have had dogs and several of them at a time since I am seven years old I’m not 65. As he left the room he was very grouchy not age And I mentioned to the vet that he must’ve had a rough day because he was in a very mood. I asked the tech if she could trim her nails and shave her feet a little bit because she was having trouble getting off the tile floor. This usually doesn’t happen because she is groomed every eight weeks but was not able to get groomed until I had the test done since she was due for top shots. He came back in with a nail clipper and proceeded to cut her nails and guess what he cut them too short and one started bleeding all over the floor so now she’s bleeding in two places. When he wanted to sit he actually pushed her back hips Remember we are talking about a 12 year old golden retriever. He was not very kind and I will never go back and see him again. Then he proceeded to leave the room. I asked the vet tech are you charging me for a visit today and annual visit and she said yes and I said well an annual visit consist of him listening to her lungs her heart checking her gums and feeling her legs for arthritis and he did none of that. I said I’m not paying for a visit unless this is done. He comes back in the room I know you want to hear about the Librela shot. He was very abrupt talking about it and was very negative and told me he does not feel it’s the right shot for her because they know nothing about it it’s only been around for a year. And proceeds to tell me that one of the dogs gave the shot to got paralyzed afterwards. He said an oral would be much better for her arthritis. So I guess at this point he decided to look at her mouth to see if her gums were OK listen to her lungs and move her legs to see if she had arthritis obviously she does and she’s 12 years old And told her she was overweight management food. That was the extent of our visit with Dr. Hudson. I go to check out and the lady in front of me said don’t forget my senior discount now I’ve been going to them for years and they never told me about a senior discount. I finally got one this time but they did not give me the 10% off on everything. I really am not sure I will be back to Vet unless I see Dr Satler. I’m probably not spelling her name correctly but I am not gonna look it up at this point. Beware of Saint Bernard animal Hospital this was not a good experience and we’ve been going there for years.

Anna at the front desk deserves 5 stars too for going above and beyond. Bella and I are forever thankful.

Experiencia fantástica: The staff were all sweet with my old boy. They were patient, kind, and gentle to help with his vet anxiety. We’ve had multiple doctors there annd all of them are wonderful, recently we’ve had Dr. Josh who was patient and very thorough with his diagnosis for our boy.

Experiencia fantástica: Prior to moving I was a regular client of everything Dogtown, including St Bernard’s. Upon return for a visit, the team at Dogtiwn and St. Bernard’s were as wonderful as ever. Amazing care and service!

When my furkid Ivy was diagnosed with cancer Dr Hansen was straightforward and compassionate as we discussed the road ahead ...3 weeks later it was time for the Rainbow Bridge and the entire staff was very caring and compassionate ...these are people who truly care about pets

Experiencia fantástica: Omg omg!!!!!!! This place is BEYOND amazing! I will be honest this isn’t my regular vet but just might be!!!!!! I took my baby girl in there as a walk in due to vomiting! I was past the time they see pets but they worked her in anyway!! The girls at the desk were just so helpful and sweet!!!! The vet tech- I forgot his name- he is 15. He was to die for!!!!!! He was sooooooooooooo good with dogs and loved my girl tons and gave her bunches of kisses and pets!!!!!!! Hope he becomes a vet in the future!!!! Thanks for taking care of my Auggie just like she was yours!!

Experiencia fantástica: Best veterinarian experience I've ever had. Dr. Hansen and the rest of the staff really makes my dog (Porter) comfortable and always shows compassion. They are very honest and are always willing to do extra steps for Porter that I have not seen from other veterinarian's. We are extremely happy we found St. Bernard's and could not reccomend it enough!

Experiencia fantástica: My dog Bruin loves it here! The friendly & knowledgable staff have made first time dog ownership as easy as possible for me. When we had a mini emergency they made the time to see us immediately, took great care of him, and made me feel so much better too. We drive all the way from Riverside to come here, and I never mind the trip since I know he’s getting the best care around!

Experiencia fantástica: Saint Bernards animal Hospital and Dogtown are wonderful places to take your animals. They go the extra mile and they make you feel just like you're leaving them with a compassionate relative. I've never had a bad Experience and I love all the people they go out of their way to smile and say hello. It makes a difference.

Experiencia negativa: I decided to try this vet since they are closer to my rescue. The good- Dr. Hansen and his techs are experienced, helpful, and friendly. The bad- They charged $896 for three cats! That's way too expensive just for an exam, ear meds, shots, microchip, and combo test. I just checked the receipt. The exam is $73. Three vaccines cost $134 for two cats. The flea meds are almost $200. Also, the place smelled strongly of fragrance. I had a horrible headache and couldn't concentrate. I will be going back to Durbin Creek until I find another vet closer to my rescue to partner with for routine vet care.

Experiencia fantástica: Best vet office out there. I have never met such kind people who truly care about your fur babies. They are realistic and don’t hide anything from you. We have met all the doctors and nurses and can truly say that they care about your animal. Dr. Josh has really been a big help for us and our two rotties. 100% recommend him if you need anything.

Experiencia fantástica: We recently left Jacksonville and we will miss everyone at St. Bernard's Animal Hospital. Dr. Sadler is an incredible vet. We are admittedly, incredibly over-anxious regarding our dog. We ask a lot of questions, have a lot of follow-ups, and Dr. Sadler never made us feel bad about it. She always went above and beyond to answer questions, ensure our dog had the medication he needed, and followed up after the fact. They always tried to accommodate our needs and I really appreciate everyone again being so great to us over the years.
