Experiencia fantástica: Exceptionally dedicated staff who was willing to deal with all my pet owner overprotective questions. They were a bit behind before my appointment but they didn’t let that stop them from making sure every pet got the care they needed. Only took them about 8 minutes to give vaccinations and trim my cats nails. The wellness exam was detailed and quick which left me feeling relieved.

The staff are exceptional, speaking to both myself and Sapphire my cat making sure we both felt comfortable and safe. Would definitely return for any needs or concerns...customer service is 10/10...everything was provided in paper and email format...I got business cards as well...

They seemed to sanitize the floors every few minutes and/or after a pet came in and moved throughout the space, which was really important to me. They followed up with an organized email containing future appointments that we scheduled. Can’t say enough great things.

I loved that you can see through the window to where they’re being groomed so you know they’re being treated with care. Experiencia positiva: Update (1/16): daycare/play side has now closed. The standard of veterinary care remains high, and Izaiah is still one of the best groomers we’ve worked with. That said, pricing and billing communication feels less transparent than before. In our case, we were sent an estimate that didn’t match the final charge, and when I followed up, the invoice referenced wasn’t one I had received initially. My advice is just to double-check estimates and ask for the finalized invoice before services so there are no surprises. —————— —————— Kisses LOVES daycare at heart & paw! He runs towards the building as we walk up. Also great veterinary care.

Experiencia positiva: I went to Heart & Paw for a same-day vaccination appointment because my dog’s shots had expired and there were two specifically that the day care needed in order to let him board. I had a flight later that day so I needed to get him vaccinated as quickly as possible and his usual vet was on vacation. Arriving was fine - the team seemed friendly and accommodating. However, upon entering the exam room I became increasingly concerned by what I felt was profiling. I was asked about my dog’s origins multiple times in a way that made me feel like I wasn’t trusted despite having all of his records from birth at the breeder, purchase, and entire vaccination. At a random part of the appointment I was told they needed to check his chip and took him out of the room. I’m getting goosebumps as I type this because the length of the wait made me realize they THOUGHT I STOLE MY OWN DOG. The dog that, again, I had all of the documentation for. The icing on the cake was feeling talked down to by the vet about which vaccinations I should get, his ongoing care, and when I should neuter him (again, he has a regular vet and a full care plan, I just needed a vaccination). My only conclusion is maybe they don’t see a lot of colored women with rare purebreds so I unfortunately became the catch-all for very problematic assumptions. He got the shots we needed, I paid, and I quickly left. I have no interest in returning.

Experiencia negativa: Extreme wait times for a simple checkup, I wouldn't have been so bothered until I had to wait over 30m AFTER the actual appointment to get prescriptions and an invoice. Here's an additional kicker - their policy requires you to *mail* in the physical prescription to get medication.

Experiencia fantástica: I recently took my senior cat, Payton, to Heart + Paw and I could not be happier with the experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable. The receptionists were friendly and efficient, ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process. Dr. Lynn and Anna were exceptional in their care. They handled Payton with such gentleness and compassion, which put me at ease during a stressful time. They took the time to explain everything clearly, detailing the next steps for my cat’s recovery. I also truly appreciate the follow-up call from Anna the next day to check on Payton’s progress. I highly recommend Dr. Lynn, Anna, and the entire team at this clinic. They truly went above and beyond to help my cat feel better. I will definitely be returning for any future needs. Thank you all for the wonderful service!

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been impressed with the vets and the groomers here. The front desk staff is exceptional. They are helpful and compassionate. My nervous senior dog has an array of health issues and I’ve been happy with his care and the communication we receive. I love seeing the how Dexter is greeted each time we visit!

Experiencia positiva: My main reason for going there was to see if the stray cat that I took in is infected with mange, and he needed shots, I was able to get an appointment for the next day (the 10th),. That was awesome, as I wanted to get the cat checked out asap as I have other cats and I wasn't sure if it was a boy or a girl. When I showed a picture of my cat, the (I truly apologize for not remembering her name)t the lady noticing that one ear was "clipped" knew immediately what that was...the car was neutered and released back into the community ( I had no idea) . Wednesday I bought him in and the nurse, and doctor Laura were attentive and kind, the nurse handled him with loving care during her examination and weighing him. Doctor Laura Hultzapple went over everything with me as she examined him also and assured me my cat doesn't have mange...and CONFIRMED the sex of the cat.."it's a boy". At first I thought it was a boy by the face calling it Simba, then I thought it was a girl because I didn't see testicles and gave him a female name, so he went from Sheba to Samba (funny). His examination, and the test results were negative, he was in good health, got his shots. Dr Hultzapple said he was so good. We have a follow-up for his final shot in 3 wks . Let me add the exam room were very clean, and comfortable. I highly recommend HEART+PAW, and if you want your pet "groomed" they do that here as well.

Experiencia fantástica: Fast and friendly service. Staff are very good with my pet who is a very anxious puppy. The exam was very thorough, though it was hard for the vet, never complained. My pet seems to feel very at ease with the staff. The Vet and staff listened to my concerns and offered their guidance. I will definitely be coming back and this wasn't my first visit here.

I am endlessly grateful for everything they did for her—and for us.

Experiencia fantástica: Heart and Paw was able to accommodate a same-day appointment, greeted our pet by name when we entered, and their team diagnosed and treated our French bulldog quickly and kindly.

Experiencia negativa: I had a medical emergency and couldn’t make it to the scheduled appointment on time. I called ahead of time and they still charged me cancellation fee of $90. Complete rip off

Experiencia fantástica: My pup is a ball of anxiety and 55lb of loving. The whole team here made his first visit calming and Dr. Hultzapple even got on the floor to his level to help. They were transparent about pricing and offered options to save where possible. On top of that, the whole technology/mobile app/online tools are easy to use and give plenty visibility to pet parents. Loved our experience!!

She takes such good care of my babies( as well as the entire staff- Shoutout as well to Rebecca) Cannot say enough good things about this place. While it is kinda pricey you pay for the utmost quality of care. I lost one of my sweet angels a few weeks ago and the absolute empathy this place had for my little family was unmatched. The entire Vet loved my girl Winifred. As long as I live in Philly Heart + Paw East Market will always be my go to <3

Have been going to East Market location since 2020. They’re wonderful for pets and their humans!

Experiencia fantástica: Heart & Paw is the best for grooming and vet care! Everyone at H&P is so kind (front desk staff, vet nurses/techs, etc...). We saw Dr. Laura Hultzapple for for an annual visit and sick visit and she was so patient and knowledgeable regarding all my questions. She did not make me feel rushed despite my extensive list of questions. Regarding grooming, we have been going to Amber and she is great! My goldendoodle always looks so cute afterwards and is excited to come back for grooming in a few weeks! Would highly recommend H&P for all grooming and vet care!

Experiencia fantástica: New to the area and decided to take my dog in for a de-shedding bath and nail trim so I could check out the clinic space as well. Amber, the groomer, was so gentle and sweet with my blind pup, that she won my dog over immediately (pup is usually afraid of the groomer). And Amber did such a great job with the bath! My pup's coat is shining, and the floating clouds of fur are no more. Her nails and so nice and neat now too. The office is really communicative and prompt, and my pup's comfort was definitely the priority throughout. Parking isn't the easiest around Eastern Market, so walking/rideshare is probably easier (or buying something from MOM's Organic across the street each time you drop off/pick up I guess?). Will definitely be back!

Experiencia fantástica: I needed a last minute appointment for my dog and was happy that Heart & Paw could accommodate. Skye was evaluated quickly and I received a thorough treatment plan. The vet and nurse were so patient with my dog who is easily overstimulated. I will definitely return and recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: Recently had a vet visit with Dr. Torres, our reactive dog has never had such a positive vet experience. She treated our pup so well and we could not recommend her more highly!

Experiencia negativa: Let me preface this review with 1. I'm not a review leaver typically unless I have a great experience, and mid experiences I can tolerate but this truly left me wanting to leave a negative review. 2. This is not to bash, just to inform others. Firstly, the team at the front desk of the East Market location are some of the most lovely, and kind people EVER, and they always make us feel welcome when we come. We have a 7 month old pitbull who is definitely nervous at the vet, she was worked up during her last tech appointment but we found that me holding her in the room would be better and the vaccination went off without a hitch. I was told this would be added into her chart that she does better with us in the room. No growling, no barking, she just sat calmly in my arms and got the vaccine, when before the tech said she was lunging and not feeling great. We went back yesterday and when the nurse stepped into the room she immediately started talking about how our puppy was escalated during her last visit but she "wouldn't hold that against her" again, she was pretty shy in the beginning, and I was sitting with her on the floor. She sat for the nurse, gave her paw, and took two treats from her, and was walking around the room unbothered. The nurse opted to skip the temp check and things as to not work her up before the doctor came in. Immediately upon stepping into the room the Dr. Torres said that Stunna was "really nervous and worked up" when at this point she hadn't displayed any type of behavior like that. She wouldn't approach the doctor the way she did the nurse but she did take one treat from her and then let our a bark/growl when the doctor extended a hand. Immediately Dr. Torres became standoffish towards her and said that the evaluation "most likely wouldn't happen today", we chose to put a muzzle on our 7 month, 40 lb puppy to ease the worry of the doctor. She was still growly but at this point was unable to lash out or anything. The doctor said they would do the vaccine as I held her and at this point Dr. Torres seemed very unwilling to even evaluate her. She did not seem comfortable, nor make us comfortable. We talked to her about thinking she had potential allergies/hyperkeratosis based off of our own research and even with our puppy fully laying across me with her head down (still growling but not moving) I held up her paw and the doctor refused to even get close enough to look at her paws. We are completely unwilling to sedate a puppy this young when she has hardly had time to become comfortable at the vet, and they started suggesting this after the second time we came. As someone said in a prior review, 15 minutes of nervousness does not equate to hours of sedation. In my opinion, if your profession is working with animals you should be willing to accommodate all personality types. They wrote her off before the evaluation barely even began and that felt super disheartening, and we left feeling really upset. We have a friend whose Boxer mix HATES people she doesn't know, has a bunch of anxiety, and barks INCESSSENTLY at the vet, she worked with Dr. Torres and we were recommended to her for this reason, and we had the complete opposite experience and she was totally unwilling to work with us. Not sure if it's a breed thing but that's absolutely how it felt.

Experiencia fantástica: My cat was losing weight for years and I kept expressing my concerns to vets. He was 5 years old and 6 pounds! Dr Lynn listened to me and ran all the tests while also making sure to do them in a cost effective manner and diagnosed my little boy with IBD and put him on a prescription diet. He’s now 10 pounds and a purring happy boy again and I genuinely cannot thank her enough for saving him.

Experiencia negativa: Booked an appointment because my dog was exhibiting UTI symptoms, which Heart + Paw has diagnosed him with before after a urinalysis. This time, I was pressured into also getting x ray and bloodwork (an additional $800). The vet said if I wanted to save money to cancel the urinalysis, which was the whole reason I came in. I took her advice the services she very much urged me to get resulted in no findings. The only conclusive thing that guided the treatment plan was the urinalysis. What if I would have taken her “advice” to cancel that? I understand you dont know before you test, but it seemed like a way to pressure me for profit. Additionally, when I asked how long it would take, I was told “20-30 minutes”. My dog was back there for over 90 minutes and I was there for over 2.5 hours. If I would have been given a legitamate estimate, I could have moved my car parking during the wait and saved $40 to put towards those extra services they were pushing me for. Unfortunately, this $1000 visit at the 11 & ludlow location was a major stain in the image of heart & paw for me. I’ve always gone to the broad street location and they’ve been extremely reasonable — able to treat last year’s UTI for less than $200 and under an hour. The lack of standardization of care and respect for owners across the practice will make me reconsider in the future. I am thankful at least my dog got the antibiotics he needed, even if it was hours late.

From entering the building with a very warm greeting at the book in desk to the nurses and veterinarian, Dr Torres, we could not be happier with the care received.

Experiencia fantástica: Not me literally crying leaving the vet — but for all the right reasons. I had just moved to Philly when our dog developed a painful infection in his toes due to allergies. I called five different vet offices the day before with no luck, but this clinic got us in same day. From the moment we walked in until the moment we walked out, I felt like we were in the best hands. The doctor was unbelievably kind, smart, and took the time to explain everything in a way that made sense — no confusing jargon, no pressure to buy unnecessary add-ons (a rare find these days). They treated my dog like family, and even sent us home with two toys so our other pup at home wouldn’t feel left out. Who does that?! It was such a thoughtful touch that made a hard day feel so much better. You can tell everyone here truly loves animals and shows up with both compassion and expertise. I’m so, so grateful we found them — this place is a gem. If you’re in Philly and looking for a vet who genuinely cares, this is it.

Experiencia fantástica: I have to say, the best vet going! I had been to 2 other places before and they couldn't treat my sweet boy saying he was too aggressive. His only issue was ear infections and he didn't want to let the vets near his ears. Heart & Paw went the extra mile to figure out how to keep him calm and his ears finally are healed after a year of trying. He actually looks forward to going! I love them and will go nowhere else!

She answered all of my questions and made helped us figure out a plan for twig. The receptionist and vet techs are also so kind and compassionate. The best veterinary practice around!! Thank you all

Experiencia positiva: Very nice people work there. The vet and her assistant were patient and tried to help me figure out why my cat wasn’t eating and was also having problems keeping his food down. Unfortunately we couldn’t figure out what the problem was and they couldn’t draw blood because cat wasn’t allowing them to hold him.

They were very patient with my cat, Ruby, and they were *exceptionally* patient with me, a big time nervous talker. Unfortunately, I can't remember anyone's name except for the receptionist, Rebecca, who I feel deserves a shout out. Call me crazy, but I'm excited for our next visit (and I'm sure Ruby feels the same way)!

Experiencia negativa: Gave me an annual before needed because of course $$. My dog hid under the bench because she was nervous so the vet was trying to recommend putting her on medication. 15 min of nerves doesn’t correlate being medicated for 8 hours. She walked out of exam room and made a face to the vet tech, I’m not blind.. you would think she would say your dog gets nervous coming here let me give you the shot that lasts 3 years but $$.. i was so uncomfortable and the passive aggressive nature was uncalled for. Not interested in coming back and def not interested in seeing that vet again. You can say everything in a nice tone but what you’re saying isn’t so nice.

She had a recent health crisis and the nurse and doc were well versed in her history. They were very gentle with her. Despite her advanced age, she can take on six humans at a time and the team was great with her! The visit was affordable (very important) and it was great to be in the hands of such caring professionals. Highly recommend!

They also send incredible pics and report cards every time I take her to day care and even threw her a birthday party (at no extra cost mind you) . The staff takes such good care of her, we feel like we are dropping her off with family. We receive amazing pictures of her playing throughout the day and she comes home tired and happy. The veterinary team provide exceptional care and it's such a comfort to know she is in good hands. We truly can't say express how much we love them!!

Experiencia fantástica: Always a traumatic experience for both the pet and the caretaker when going to the vet for any reason, but heart + paw does all they can to reduce the stress. Very caring professionals, on time, immediately let you in the exam room to wait as well. They are great! They also tell me how pretty Minerva is every time… that goes a long way in my book. . The staff at Heart + Paw are all very friendly and kind and communicative throughout their veterinary visits. I feel when they come here they are in good hands and never have to worry. They always answer all of my questions and I get a detailed outline after each visit sent to me. They are easy to get ahold of either by phone, text, or appointment making on their website. Super efficient. Their location is super close to my apartment which makes it easy to transport my cats to their appointments. The office is very nice & clean, and while the vet is not always either of my cat’s favorite place, the office does their best to help make Benny and Flynn feel safe and comfortable while they are there. I love how the moment we enter the office the front desk staff greet us with warm smiles and often I show the staff some cute pictures of the boys at home and reels I post on their instagram page. No matter what the circumstance of our visit is, there has never been a time at Heart + Paw that my experience was less than satisfactory. Their customer service and treatment is always above and beyond. <3

Experiencia fantástica: I've been taking my cats and dog to Heart + Paw East Market for over a year now and they are by far my favorite vet center. Dr Lynn is amazing with my babies and I trust her and her surgical skills very much. The nurses are kind and patient, and the care coordinators are so responsive and helpful. I also take my dog to their daycare facility and she loves it there. The staff makes sure she gets plenty of breaks and they send a bunch of pictures, which I so appreciate. Finally, I love having my dog groomed by Izaiah. He is absolutely fantastic. He listens to my requests and gives me great advice on care post-groom. 5/5 stars.

Experiencia fantástica: Heart & Paw has been my daycare/vet of choice for several years now and they have been nothing but stellar. Very friendly employees and you can tell they care about your furry friends. Daycare is awesome and they even send pictures and report cards.

Experiencia fantástica: I couldn’t ask for a better daycare for my little princess, Kelly. The staff is wonderful and they go above and beyond to ensure she is safe and having a great time! The facilities are incredibly clean. Kelly gets VERY excited to go - she practically starts running when she realizes where we’re going. They send me pictures of her day and a report card after each visit!

Experiencia positiva: Initially established care here about a year ago for 2 cats - brothers with identical histories. They were due for vaccines in 2 months after the initial visit. We received no reminder emails when the time came. Attempted to book a 30 min spot to get them both vaccines and checked for fleas, just to be safe because they were itching more. 2 cats from same litter for a quick check and vaccines cannot be completed in a 30 min visit. My human OB appointments are 10. Very difficult to get back to back appointments for both cats.

Experiencia fantástica: My puppy has been coming to Heart and Paw East Market since I got her. The space is always clean. The staff are super communicative about processes and cost up front and are always kind when speaking to them over the phone and in person. My puppy goes here for her vet and grooming and I would highly recommend both! We are also looking forward to trying the day care in the future as everyone in the neighborhood raves about it. Such a good location for people who live and work in Center City :)

Experiencia fantástica: From the receptionists to the nurses, to the veterinarian, I'd give 100 stars. They were all so friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, patient and empathetic. My blind cat is very easily scared of everything/everyone but they managed to keep her calm without much force and easily gave her shots, pill in mouth and flea drops. I was amazed. They also spent a lot of time with us explaining things well; it didn't feel rushed at all.

Experiencia negativa: The worst place ever. Rude staff, that have no clue as to what they’re doing. Went in for travel documents for my dogs to fly home to Hawaii and was given the complete run around. Then was told by the vet, who’s supposed to be a professional that I must pay the bill the day before getting the actual pet certificates. Now to back things up a bit, I was given the appointment on that specific day because I have 2 dogs and that was the only day that they had available for 2 dogs. Yet when I’m there, they wanted me to return the next day to give my babies their flea and tick treatment and pick up my travel documents. Make that make sense. So the vet says to me that I would need to pay $431 the day I was there and pick up my travel documents the next day. I said to her, I’ll pay when I pick up my documents. She had a tantrum, stomped her feet and yelled that she needed a moment. I said you do that. Let’s back it up further, I was asked to email over my dogs documents. Everything was clearly spelled out. Yet when I get there I’m asked scout the results of their titres. Which was on the paperwork sent. I’m asked who drew them and when they were drawn, no vet has asked me that before. Then they call the lab in Kansas instead of just reading. Then the audacity to say, that the lab stuck their neck out for me. They would not had to do that if you, the vet had read. I went to Art City and they were curteous, didn’t ask me extra things and read the paper work sent. I was in and out no problem. Go to Art City vet.

Experiencia fantástica: I had to find a vet closer to my home and when I called they got me fit right in the next day. They even called my previous vet to get medical records before my appt. The turnaround time is awesome and no waiting for scripts because they gave me a month to take with me! Everyone is so nice and supportive in making sure I'm doing what I need to do as a dog mom. Office is super clean and they make sure that other dogs aren't in the same waiting room for anxious barkers like Bunny. The best part is that my pet insurance will cover most, if not all, everything from today and their staff is helping with the paperwork. Thanks for the peace of mind that Bunny Bella Chow is set up for a long lasting life! See all of you in 3 weeks!

I have a finicky squirmy dog and they never show frustration or make the dog feel more scared. The info provided was thorough and in understandable terms. AND they let me select the options going forward rather than mandating a specific treatment. Highly recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: My boys absolutely love Heart + Paw! We’ve been going to the East Market location since their soft opening during COVID. Baskota started with play and had the time of his life! When Sankoori joined us later that year, everyone there went above and beyond to help him with his fears and bring him out of his shell. The vets and vet techs are phenomenal. Our visits are smooth (even when I showed up to our wellness appointment last week with both boys in a boot on a knee scooter and 2 friends to help me - 1 for each pup). The boys love every member of the East-Market team. They are patient, compassionate, friendly, and well-versed in the nuances of their various roles. I love how much they care about and how well they care for the pets under their charge.

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot state how much we love Heart and Paw (east market location!) Buckle in for a long review that I rarely bother doing. (No they are not paying me or offering me anything for this review.) The techs are so kind, friendly and helpful. They remember my dog by name every time and all of her quirks. You can clearly tell they love helping your pet and want what’s best for them. We’ve seen two different vets at this location and both are fabulous. They genuinely listen and take their time trying to figure out the best treatment for your pet. They are a tad bit expensive (75$ish for an office visit) but they are worth it a million times over. One memory sticks out the most of how caring/amazing they are. It was a Friday night at 5:30, 30 mins before they closed, when I noticed bright red blood in my dogs stool. As most nervous dog parents I immediately panicked thinking something internally was seriously wrong. I called them expecting to be told to go to the emergency pet hospital. The vet tech who answered the phone very kindly listened to my panicked/frantic rambling of an explanation, calmed me down, and explained what the vet thinks is wrong. But that’s not all. They recommended giving a probiotic to help, and said they had some if I could come in before they closed. Remeber this is probably now 20 minutes before they close and I am still on a walk with my dog and lived 15 minutes away. As I am frantically driving and hit that center city traffic, I call back explaining the traffic and that I might not make it. Now, it is Friday night at 6pm and they’re closing. Of course they all want to go home and get on with their weekend so I expect a “sorry we have to close at 6 if you can’t get here” but instead get a very compassionate “do not worry, slow down, drive safe, we will stay till you get here.” When I got there, they were happy to help and so kind even when facing a crazed dog mom for what was really not a serious emergency at all. I know that people may think any self respecting vet would do that. Yet I have never been met with such kindness, professionalism, and compassion even though they knew it wasn’t a serious issue and I was definitely just a crazy dog mom. Calmed me down, validated my fear, and went beyond what was needed. I cannot recommend them enough.
