Experiencia fantástica: Ever since I take my pet cat there, my cat and I have been treated nice and kindly with respect and the people who work there are gentle and nice.
Experiencia fantástica: My dog had 2 visits at Gresham Animal Hospital this week. The first for her annual visit. Dr. Hannah did a thorough exam and recommended an antibiotic for her ears. Then yesterday my dog started eating on brick of rat poison. Fortunately I got it away from her immediately, then I called Gresham Animal Hospital and they saw her as soon as I could get her there. They took the right steps/treatment to rid her of the toxins. The vet explained what toxins she thought it was and her treatment after the visit. I'm very satisfied with the care and interest they demonstrate with all their patients and owners.

They communicate exceptionally well with thier patients owners providing details and educating their patrons twoard exceptional pet care. My kitten was healed within the week while additional information and transparent invoices were provided for future services.

Experiencia positiva: I really appreciate the doctors here. They all have taken good care of our pets through the years. My only issues are that it's difficult to get someone on the phone so urgent issues are not well addressed here. I often go to Dove Lewis for emergencies because they are set up to accommodate that and they answer the phone. Also during appointments here it's quick to get into the exam room and the doctors spend a good amount of time with the pets but afterward it takes sometimes as long as the appointment time to check out and pay for services. Yesterday I was in the office with my cat for routine vaccines and we were there about an hour. That includes the 25 minutes it took to check out. It seems that the office isn't well managed and could be improved. Doctors are awesome though!
Experiencia positiva: I've been going to Gresham Animal Hospital for over 7 years now with my dogs and cats and have been mostly happy. It can be hard to get an appt because they're so busy and their online appt scheduling isn't the greatest as they've reschedule every appt I've made on it because it scheduled me incorrectly. Wait times can be very lengthy. They don't always respond to emails in a timely manner and I was told you need to call and check that they recieved it because they dont always check emails. Most of the doctors I have seen there are very caring, attentive, and good at explaining procedures, concerns, and aftercare.The staff could be trained better on dog body language and how to properly approach dogs. Many times they have approached my fearful/stranger danger dog too fast, head on, and hand stretched out to pet while he is giving them all the signals that he is uncomfortable with their approaches and I'm telling them he is fearful. Overall happy with the treatment my pets have received.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been going here for years. They are so good with my dogs. I have German shepherds and many vets don't like working with them. The vets here are wonderful with them. They are very friendly and kind to both their patients and us, the parents. I definitely recommend them.

Experiencia positiva: While the visit itself was fine, I had to remind Dr Powers why we were there (annual checkup), and the girl I spoke with at the registration table told me that I needed to pay $150 prior to my dog's scheduled surgery online, but failed to give me the instructions on how to do so - there was no information about that online - turns out that a link had to be sent by text, which you had to request ahead of time.
Experiencia negativa: Took my dog in for a sedated nail trim and vaccines. Picked him up and had to get pain meds from the pain he was in. The light shave to remove poop ended in a very red, irritated bottom. No response to my concerns from them.

I was just there yesterday for a "manipedi" for my (use to be difficult) dog. He has become very comfortable with the staff and Vets at this clinic. I was in and out very quickly. Even my dog came out with a smile on his face. LOL Thank you!

Experiencia fantástica: These are the professionals you want caring for your pets. Big or small, they give good direction and are very loving towards my dogs. We have seen several veterinarians throughout Portland and Gresham, Gresham Animal Hospital is by far the best.

Experiencia negativa: I want to say that taking our dog here has always been a great experience. However today we had to put our dog down and what we had to go through i hope no family does. It wasn't putting him down that we are grieving but the process that our family went through and the treatment from Dr.wooley was definitely not heartwarming. I am beyond saddened and wish I could do it over again. Very disappointed and would not recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: Update: 12-15-25: I was asked to submit a review of my experience with Gresham Animal Hospital following today's visit. This was a technician visit for a toenail trim for my kitty, who is older. I prefer to have an experienced vet tech trim her toenails because I don't want to hurt her since I don't do this. Her technician today was Ellie, who was thoughtful and kind. We were not there for very long, and my kitty's experience today was better than usual at the vet, since she really doesn't like leaving home. The waiting area was crowded, by everyone was so nice and we were all talking amongst ourselves, which I think relieved our pets, too, because they could tell we were all relaxed. Anyway, a pleasant experience. And Ellie printed out her notes and gave them to me so I could send them in to the insurance without waiting for an email, which I think likely relieved the front office staff, since they were all so busy. So Kudo's to Ellie!! Dr. Hanaa was very thorough and kind with Buffie's wellness exam. She explained options thoroughly, too, and fortunately the clinic was running a promotion on senior kitty lab testing, so I agreed with her recommendation for the senior lab screen. Dr. Hanaa also called me with those results and we discussed future testing and treatment options. In the past, Dr. Chris was our primary vet, and I do miss him, but I really like Dr. Hanaa, too, and am ready to over forward under her care. Additionally, all the Staff at GAH are remarkable, very caring, and you can feel their love for their patients. Thank you all for your thoughtfulness!

Experiencia positiva: The staff are friendly, but the wait was long. I had a 10:40 am appointment for a simple test done by a technician. We waited 30 minutes past the appointment time.

Experiencia negativa: Train to take me there was a little early so i called to inform them i would be 15 minutes late, instantly told with 0 compassion that anything above 10 minutes was an instant cancel and they would hold our deposit as well since it was a same day cancel. Now i am left with a sick cat and not enough money to get them seen again for a few days. Will be finding somewhere else to take them besides here.

Experiencia fantástica: We were quickly checked in (while Stella weighed) and sat for only a couple of minutes before we took Stella into the exam room. The technician was prompt/friendly and quickly made friends with Stella. The Dr. was prompt and immediately made friends with Stella. Even with Stella having to have ear hair pulled and ears washed out, she was a happy dog. Stella was barely stressed. It was a good visit

Experiencia negativa: I just came back from this place. About 6 weeks ago I had a dying emotional support cat and they refused to help me. And I adopted a new emotional support cat ( kitten) Sunday. Went in today and they demanded $90 for a non-refundable deposit just for her free wellness check. They've been extremely rude to me twice now. I'm done they've lost my business and I live 1 block away Sheesh

Experiencia fantástica: I left Mt. hood pet medical, mainly of because of competency issues with staff, not of Vets. So far I'm impressed with Gresham Animal Hospital, but of course time will tell. I try to be fair in my reviews because they can and do impact the livelihood of others, it's important not to be an unreasonable foot stomper and childishly react to first slights or disappointments. I continue, I was pleasantly rewarded by contacting GAH (Gresham Animal Hospital) for a new patient appointment, with vaccine boosters including rabies booster, with a same day appointment, WOW, that is a rare to nonexistent event at Mt Hood PM. I arrived early, and greeted thoughtfully, by attentive staff, and was checked in by weighing in my GSP, afterword we waited in a very nice and comfortable area with my 1-year-old female(Misty) GSP (German Shorthair Pointer). After a short wait (I was very early) a young lady came out to escort us to the exam room, discussed treatment needs and options, along with corresponding costs. After that and approx. 5 min wait, Dr. Cory Armitage DVM entered, we communicated needs and expectations for care of Misty, and administered Vaccines after a quick exam, and blood draw, afterwords we left exam room and paid discussed fees at main desk. I know this is a long-drawn-out explanation, but bear with me, I am reaching a conclusion, with final thoughts. Gresham Animal Hospital left me with feeling of a very professional operation; everything was choreographed by procedure and followed through thoughtfully with genuine care for what they are there for. Though I spent over $300, I did not feel I was overcharged and actually felt value for my money. At no time was I left with a feeling that I was being nickeled and dimed with unnecessary up sales, though I did receive a email after my appt. for pet insurance (I never buy it). This is much different from Mt. Hood Pet Medical that was always trying to plus charge me for unnecessary treatment or medications. Time will only tell, as to my final view on GAH, but so far I am impressed, and have no regrets choosing them from my research. I will of course update my review in the future, but I always do start out with 5 stars if it is earned and in this case, certainly is.

All this minus the drama, up charges, and boutique offices. I miss that in my vets. I travel 40 minutes for this vet. Totally worth it.

Experiencia fantástica: UPDATE: The entire staff know our girls and when we walked in the other day I was greeted and asked “checking in for Dog A and Dog B?” BY NAME. What a nice thing to know, that my dogs are known and loved. I feel that we get excellent care and treatment, and the entire veterinary team takes our needs into account every time we come in. On top of that, Dr. Armitage is awesome. He spent so much time with my girls and gave me really to-the-point, informed advice for caring for them both. I so appreciate this clinic and am so grateful for everyone. Thank you! UPDATE: the clinic is putting a lot of energy and effort into boarding! Angela the boarding manager is wonderful, and my pets love her! So grateful for such a wonderful clinic in such close proximity to us. We feel confident in the treatment our pets get both as boarders and as patients. I highly recommend Gresham Animal Hospital. First, I really appreciate the friendly staff and doctors at Gresham Animal Hospital. They know our pets by name and take really good care of our furry family members whenever we go in and no matter how nervous our pets are. Dr. Armitage always spends a lot of time with our pets whenever we visit and works with us to create realistic treatment plans. You can tell that everyone at this clinic truly loves animals. Second, I appreciate the RX process at this vet clinic - my pets do have some medications they take daily, and some monthly, and the pharmacy staff are so helpful in getting us our prescriptions on time and with little fuss. Third, I love that we can board our pets when necessary, and I trust the clinic staff to take extra good care of our pets. Finally, but probably most important: I must give a HUGE shout out to anyone who answers the phone. I always get THE BEST service and help. Experiencia positiva: Great level of care but the prices are insane - I'm sorry, there is no reason on earth for a rabies vaccination to cost $42.50, ON TOP of a $90 office call. This is a zoonotic disease that can affect human beings, it should not cost me an entire day's wages to protect my pets and my family from one of the nastiest viruses on the planet. I'm not even going to go into the cost to spay a single cat, which is a service I utilized during a previous visit and was thankfully covered by MCAS as part of the adoption agreement. Preventative health care for companion animals should not cost more than a car payment. I realize y'all have to turn some profit to pay your employees and cover operation costs, but there is a big difference between responsibly-priced services and price-gouging.
Experiencia negativa: We took our newly rescued dog here to get her spayed and front drew claws removed. The desk staff seemed very unsure and confused. We were told conflicting information about the procedures both dropping our dog off and picking her up. No vets came out to talk with us about how either one of the procedures went. When we asked to talk to someone we were told they were busy. We had also asked for a wellness check. When I asked about the wellness check the desk person literally said "oh yeah, she's fine" and walked away?? They were very eager and happy to take our money, but not so eager to show us any sort of common courtesy. With our dog being a rescue, we were given vouchers to have these services done. I felt like Gresham animal hospital gave us minimal service and were more interested in collecting money for the voucher. I consider any pet of mine as part of our family. I don't feel Gresham animal hospital shares this view. Their clients are just dollar signs. I will not bring our pet here again and regret bringing her here in the first place. I would not recommend this establishment at all I'd leave no stars, but that's not an option.

Experiencia fantástica: Our dog had something in his pad, we were able to drop him late morning for the doctor to look at in between appointments. They called us a few hours later, they were able to pull out the object and he was ready to go. We expected to pay several hundred dollars, but were only charged $135, an office visit and a fee to soak his pad. Thank you Gresham Animal!

Experiencia positiva: We had a great experience with our vet. We got the guidance and medications necessary for my families 5 year old lab. 4 stars because a machine to process ear infections bacteria etc, went against vet and assistant opinion. The machine was new and took two samples that conflicted each other. We have a follow up visit in a month and will continue to use this clinic, minus the new tech. Friendly staff.

I love how the doctors reach out after the visit and explain things to you over the phone due to Covid, and listens to ALL of your questions and concerns. Weve come here after leaving two other vets with concerns. They never reached out after an appointment and they definitely did not listen to my questions and concerns. Experiencia fantástica: Our Dr was excellent, best one we have ever had. Our oldest Persian has high anxiety and normally needs to calm him down with medication but not with our new Vet. Dr Woolley is amazing and obviously has lots of experience with cats because he was very calm through his entire appointment. Experiencia fantástica: Been going here for 20 years. They always work in any dog we've ever had. Just like today my dog sprained his leg. I dropped him off at 7:30 and picked him up at 2:30. They are very nice to work with.

Experiencia negativa: I have no words to describe the frustration and stress this place has caused me, but I will summarize. I took my cat in to get spayed and she came back with a disfigured stomach. I paid just shy of $1,000 for a botched surgery and wasn’t even sent home with a cone to keep her from licking the wound, but they charged me for one! I needed to get pain meds for her and had to call and call with little response. After finally getting through, I was told by Dr. Woolley that they were ready to be picked up. I called just to be sure and the front desk told me they were ready as well so I drove there and paid almost $60 for them to tell me they weren’t actually ready and I can come back later and big surprise… I never got a call back. Not to mention Dr. Woolley doesn't listen and cut me off almost every time I tried asking questions. These people feel like scammers and what was good about this clinic left a while ago. Absolute worst veterinary service I have ever received. Do not trust these people with your baby!!

Experiencia negativa: Very disappointed with lack of customer service. I made an appointment online through your website, when I arrived at the clinic I was informed that it was their sister clinic on 82nd. I have never even knew there was an option to choose from. It would have been nice if they would have gone and talked with the docs to see if they could work us in due to this. I was given the option to leave her as a drop off, but due to her anxiety that is not an option. I would understand if I screwed up and did something wrong, but your website misdirected. Does not feel that as an established patient, not all avenues of customer service was explored to resolve this issue.

Experiencia fantástica: A very busy Veterinary Clinic, but the staff are pleasant and greet each person and their animal with courtesy. I did not have to wait very long to have my Pooch seen; The Assistant took the time to obtain any questions I had. The Veterinarian was prompt, asked about the concerning issues, and examed my pooch with care.

Experiencia fantástica: Our lab was having some stomach issues over the weekend, had to go to a 24 hr vet to rule things out, but he was still having a tough time. Got to our regular vet at Gresham Animal hospital after the weekend and was very happy with the care and attention they gave him, trying to sort out what was going on and why this was lingering. Got him on the right stuff and he’s doing great now. Back to his old self. Thank you!!

Only a four-star rating as the price of $90.+ seemed high for a 10 minute wellness exam. three year rabies was an additional $42. I will return however as the staff and service was excellent.

Experiencia negativa: As a customer of this business for over 25 years (all the way back to the blue house!), it pains me to write this, but the time has come to move on. I've noticed a gradual decline in quality of service over the last year or so, and my recent experience of calling no less than 12x over the course of 2+ hours and never getting a person to answer the phone during normal business hours convinced me. There used to be times when they were busy and I'd call and Dr. Chris would answer and help me (and recognized me by my voice no less). No, I do not want to install yet another app on my phone that requires my information. No, I do not want to use your website to make appointments or order meds. It's great that those are options for the people that want them, but they shouldn't be the only options. If GAH is working for you, great... my dog and I moved on to a new vet that has a 4.9-star Google rating, and actually answered the phone the first time I called within 5 rings. I'd rate it lower, but after almost 30 years I feel bad, so 2 for the memories.

Experiencia fantástica: Great experience! Easy to book an appointment when they sent a reminder about my dogs 2 year check up and shots that were due. We got a Saturday appointment easily. It was quick and easy once we arrived and brought back to the room. Everyone was very friendly and easy to work with!

Experiencia positiva: I attempted to establish my pet with a highly praised veterinarian with this hospital, so thought I had left a phone message 3 days earlier.When I did not receive a call back, I went directly to Gresham Animal Hospital and registered with Treva who was kind, patient and understanding. Experiencia fantástica: We brought our cat for her annual visit and a rabies shot. This was the first time seeing Dr. Hanaa Elias. We usually see Dr. Powers, but he was in surgery. Dr. Elias was very nice and gave us some suggestions about getting bloodwork, but did not push. I appreciate that. She seems to have a warm personality and my cat was pretty comfortable with her. Do not hesitate to see Dr. Elias for your fur kids care. You will not be disappointed.

Experiencia negativa: Been loyal to GAH for 15 years. Times have changed and not for the better. I called on a Saturday and lvm requesting a liquid form of medication for one of my cats. I never received a call back. Fast forward a week and my other cat needs antibiotics which Dr. Powers suggested I do and self administer. I called early Monday morning. Again, lvm. by 12:30, I heard nothing. I then called and spoke with someone who said she'd forward the message and get back to me. Crickets. No call back once again. I may be finding a new vet. They are clearly over worked or simply don't care. No wonder Dr Chris left.

Experiencia fantástica: Highly recommend this vet! Every time I’ve taken my dog here they are wonderful! They are so kind and gentle with my little girl, she shakes like a leaf but they are so sweet I really appreciate them treating my pup with kindness and being gentle while she’s scared. We went in for some xrays and the whole experience was very pleasant and always has been each time we’ve gone! I can’t remember the doctor we got now but she was absolutely wonderful very kind woman very knowledgeable and super sweet to my girl and I. It’s very clean and welcoming in the establishment as well. quality of service and kindness and gentleness was well worth taking my girl here again to make sure my girl was in good hands! Experiencia negativa: We had been a long time Gresham animal hospital customers until recently. I think there’s been a change in management or philosophy of taking care of customers. We called in a time of emergency when one of our doxies was sick. for a little more background, we called during business hours and had to leave a message when we did get a call back. The service was very poor, there was attitude, Basically told they couldn’t help us on an emergency situation. After all the years of being loyal, good customers, this is how we were treated.

Experiencia fantástica: My dog (Crash), was not feeling well during the day and overnight he got way worse and was whimpering in pain. I called Gresham Animal Hospital the second they opened (7:30 am) hoping to get him in immediately. The girl I spoke with said there was only one doctor that day and they were booked, but she would check if they could get Crash in, but probably wouldn’t know anything until 9:00am. She did give me a few urgent care places I could take him. I immediately got in the car to take him to urgent care and as I was driving she called me back and said they have another doctor coming in and they could get my dog in within the hour. I was so relieved! They checked him right in and he was seen within 5 minutes. Dr. Reba was so gentle with my dog and even took the time for my dog to smell her hand and get comfortable with her before she started the exam. She was absolutely wonderful! She was very thorough. Her demeanor set me at ease as well. She got my dog feeling better, but said if he had any issues, I could bring him back that afternoon (which I really appreciated). My dog was doing great so I didn’t need to take him back. Dr. Reba Called me that afternoon to check on how he was doing. I couldn’t believe it! I can’t say enough about her, except thank you Dr. Reba! I really am grateful you came in that day and was able to see Crash and take such great care of him and even follow up. I also really appreciate that immediate call back that morning. I didn’t get her name, but thank you! From the call, check in, vet assistant, doctor and check out, everything was TOP NOTCH! Such a wonderful place with wonderful people. Thank you to all at Gresham Animal Hospital!

Experiencia negativa: Homeless man tossed his dog into traffic, then threatened to do it again if I didn’t take the dog. I called there to see if they have anything to offer as far as discounted services to help get the dog healthy (starved, diarrhea, reactive) and instead I got a lecture about the legal issues I could have for DOING THE HUMANE THING. Zero compassion, would never spend a penny here.

Experiencia negativa: 10 months ago I had given a 5 star rating, however the gold star fur baby Dr. Chris is no longer there and the circumstances regarding his exit have left me no longer trusting this clinic. Dr. Chris had cared for my pup and my families for over 20 years. I trusted him and my pups adored him. He gave them the best care any pet owner could ask for and was by your side if the day came when you had to let them go. The current standards and service are too low to rate and after 20 years of loyalty, I will never go back. I can only hope Dr Chris will eventually return to his practice but this time with a clinic that recognizes his value. I do NOT recommend Gresham Animal Hospital. It's clear they no longer care about your beloved pets. If they did, they never would have sacrificed the best veterinarian my furbabies have ever known. The loss of Dr. Chris wiĺl be the demise of Gresham Animal Hospital. A tragic loss.

Experiencia negativa: The vet was loud and rude. My service dog is trained for cooperative care and as I tried to cue her to open her mouth for the vet (verbal cue 'open' accompanied by a gentle tickle near her mouth), the vet snapped "No!" at me and swatted my hand away from my own dog! This vet does not understand the bond between a service dog and partner. Equally as bad, the only option I was told of if they found anything on an x-ray would be to pull that tooth. I have decided to seek another more relationship focused vet, who also offers fillings and alternative treatments before a tooth cannot be saved.

Experiencia fantástica: Took my 11 year old dog here for the first time. The staff were friendly and attentive to my dogs needs and comfort. Tests and treatment were done with minimal discomfort. We were in and out pretty quickly.

Experiencia negativa: My pets have seen Dr Chris for over thirty years at this vet. Dr Chris is no longer with Gresham Animal Hospital. They don’t even have the decency to be honest about the situation. Different employees here saying different things. This is the biggest mistake they could have ever made by getting rid of him. I do not trust any of the other Doctors here. I have had multiple bad experiences with the office staff here. More than one of them are extremely rude. The phone is never answered and messages and texts not responded too. Apparently someone needs to explain to the office staff that us customers are the reason they have a job and they should at least be nice to them. I along with my many family members and friends we have recommended to come here will never step foot in this business again. The email I got when Dr Chris left begging for everyone to still stay with Gresham Animal Hospital and just recently a text asking me to recommend people to them and get twenty five dollars for doing so. This place has gone way downhill. My pets are my children and I would never recommend them or any animals being seen here. A vet is supposed to put your animals first not money.

Experiencia positiva: I have been bringing my pets to Gresham Animal Hospital for years and have always appreciated the care and expertise of the doctors, especially Dr. Powers. He is knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly goes above and beyond for his patients. Because of him and the clinic’s affordable pricing, I have consistently recommended this hospital to friends, family, and neighbors. I followed Dr. Powers here because he truly is one of the best veterinarian I have had. HOWEVER, my recent experiences have been disappointing, primarily due to long wait times and a lack of consideration for appointments, scheduling issues. For example, today I had an 11:00 AM appointment, arrived on time, but was not seen until 11:50-12:00 PM and did not leave until 12:16 PM forcing me to rearrange my work schedule again, something many of us simply can’t afford in this economy. Meanwhile, multiple people who arrived after me, seemingly with later appointments, were seen and able to leave before I was. This is not an isolated incident as it has happened at least three times now. Additionally, about two weeks ago, I arrived for a scheduled appointment only to find out it had been canceled without any notice. I had even confirmed the injection plan and check-up over the phone before the appointment date. When I arrived, I was told I was not on the books but had an appointment scheduled for the following day. I explained that this was intentional—to have one appointment for the injection and another the next day for the required “office visit” protocol. The staff did not believe I originally had an appointment, so I showed my phone as proof. A staff member then took it for a moment to verify the appointment, even though I hadn’t intended for them to take it I was simply showing it as evidence. I then had to wait while they sorted out the issue and worked me back into the schedule. I was told that a staff member had cancelled it without confirming the care plan or letting me know, but there was no real apology for the inconvenience. As other comments have mentioned the front staff have never been particularly friendly. While this has always been something I overlooked because of the great care from the doctors, it does add to the overall frustration when dealing with scheduling and long wait times. While I still trust the doctors and appreciate the affordability, the lack of time management and communication makes visits frustrating. I truly hope they can improve in this area, as I would love to continue bringing my pets here without these ongoing issues.
