Experiencia fantástica: I love hillside for my vet care!!! I have come here on two different emergencies and each time Hillside has been able to provide competent and compassionate care to my Albert. I had the pleasure of interacting and getting assistance from the following team members: Dr. Wegenaot, Carlolina (CSR), and the awesome vet techs: D'ante, Jessica G, and Julie.

Experiencia fantástica: Hillside continues to provide exemplary support and service to their patients. I've always been impressed with the quality of their care and their top notch staff. Although they are no longer our family veterinary provider due to immediate location, we have had to ask them to assist in humane euthanasia for 3 of our beloved pets, all in emergency situations. They've seen me at my worst really and through all that, their professionalism, kindness and support I will be forever grateful for.

Experiencia fantástica: Our sweet Welsh Terrier, Birdie, was cared for by the incredible team at Hillside Veterinary Clinic during a sudden emergency that ultimately ended with the heartbreaking decision to let her go. While the outcome was not what we had hoped for, the compassion, professionalism and tenderness shown to us (and to Birdie) meant more than we can say. Dr. Wegenast, Dr. Martinez and especially Dr. Matricardi, were thoughtful, clear and deeply empathetic in guiding us through every step. Veterinary nurses April, D'Ante, Blake and Rita treated Birdie with such gentleness and dignity, and cared for us just as intentionally. Kelli and Carolina were so kind, treating us with warmth and love during an incredibly difficult time. We are profoundly grateful for this team. They made one of the hardest days of our lives just a little more bearable, and we will always appreciate the love and respect they showed our girl.

Although I was in distress when I first came in, the CSR ALEX WAS AMAZING and helped speed up the check-in process. Thank you Hillside for your help and having her transferred. She is currently sleeping soundly after her surgery. This wouldn’t have been as easy without your support and assistance.

Experiencia fantástica: I came to this clinic after my previous was too far of a drive for me. I had a wonderful technician named Cheyene and she made the experience for both my dog and I amazing! The doctor and her were great when explaining treatment options and costs, 10/10 will be coming back for any other veterinary needs for my pup. Thank you Hillside for treating us so well!

From the moment we arrived, the team was thorough, compassionate, and deeply professional. The admitting veterinarian communicated clearly and honestly about the seriousness of Mae’s condition, while also treating both Mae and me with kindness and respect. I was given time with her, access to the hospital area, and consistent reassurance that she was being carefully monitored. What stood out most was the clinic’s diligence and transparency. The doctors consulted with ASPCA Animal Poison Control throughout Mae’s treatment, explained lab values and treatment decisions in plain language, and kept me updated regularly. I was welcomed to visit Mae daily and even allowed extended time with her in her kennel — a level of humanity that mattered enormously during a very scary situation. The veterinary technicians were exceptional: attentive, gentle, communicative, and clearly invested in the animals in their care. When Mae was discharged, her recovery was stable and well-supported, and at her follow-up visit she was genuinely excited to see the staff again — which says everything. If you are looking for a clinic that combines medical rigor, collaboration with specialists, clear communication, and genuine compassion, Hillside sets the standard. We are profoundly grateful to them for saving Mae.

Experiencia positiva: I just had my cat’s nails trimmed. It used to be 25, then 30 and now $38! Was there five minutes and it cost $38.00!! To put it in perspective, that would be over $450 an hour - more than most Dallas attorneys charge. Wow. I get it if she’s was wild, but she’s super docile. Still, wow.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Bose took great care in diagnosing my sick cat. He was spot on! Within a couple of days of starting an antinausea medication along with antibiotics, his appetite returned and he is almost back to himself. Thanks so much!

Experiencia fantástica: We took our furbaby Adorable here w/symptoms of emesis & diarrhea for two days. She was treated w/Blood wrk, x-rays, IV therapy. Test came back negative, thank GOD . She was given antibiotics & probiotics. Adorable was better n about 4 hrs! So the $1700 bill was WORTH IT!!! The staff here are Phenomenal They explain everything b4 performing it If we hv any after hour scares we'll b back! Thanks again!

Experiencia negativa: I have a dozens of different examples of why this place is a nightmare, like how I had to bring my dying cat in multiple times because they failed to tell me to fast her before bloodwork or how they told me to give my epileptic dog half an extended release pill which compromises the efficacy of the medication, causing her to have breakthrough seizures or how when I just went in for a tech visit there was no tech on duty. But rather than communicate that to me I had to deduce this from listening to chatter behind the counter while my dog sat quivering in fear waiting to be seen. Once I explained that stress is a trigger for her seizures, a woman named Stacia angrily came into the lobby and DRAGGED my terrified dog by her leash. At the register, this came to $250. For a blood draw that would have been $211 at a neurologist's office. They are a profit-seeking machine first and foremost and the welfare of the animals and humans is secondary. Please, for your sanity and the wellbeing of your pets, please take them literally ANYWHERE ELSE.

Dr. Frankfurt is amazing and super thorough with our check-ups. The entire staff is always friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, which makes every visit a positive experience. We always feel confident knowing our pets receive the most dependable and compassionate care whenever we need it. Thank you so much for your great care and we highly recommend!

Experiencia negativa: Just called to ask a question about how much hydrogen peroxide can I give my dog to induce vomiting after she ate some chocolate cookies and the receptionist was like you can look online and do a chocolate calculator I’ll tell you what to do. No help at all, and she did not sound compassionate at all Very rude!

Experiencia negativa: Extremely disappointed with Hillside’s handling of a simple, humane request on Christmas Day. My dog had an upset stomach and was vomiting bile — something she is prone to if she goes too long without eating. No grocery stores or pet stores were open due to the holiday. I called Hillside hoping to purchase one or two cans of GI wet dog food to get her eating again and stabilize her stomach. Despite my dog being a patient with them already and despite the situation being very straightforward, they refused to sell me the food unless I brought my dog in to be seen — at significant expense, of course. This was not an emergency visit request, nor was I asking for medication or treatment, just basic, limited ingredient wet food that would have very likely resolved the issue. A can or two of GI food would have gotten her back into her normal eating routine and prevented further distress. Instead, Hillside chose to gatekeep something so basic in what felt like a transparent attempt to force an unnecessary visit and maximize billable services rather than act in the best interest of the animal. On a holiday, when owners have limited options and pets are vulnerable, this was especially disappointing and frankly heartless. Veterinary care should be about supporting animals and their families — not exploiting circumstances. This experience seriously undermined my trust in Hillside.

Experiencia positiva: I would have given five stars, but i'm very disappointed by how much everything has gone up in price at this particular facility. This place used to be a busy vet clinic, but it's turned into a ghostland in the past few years, as prices have skyrocketed. $600 for an x ray is 2 or 3 three times the price charged by locally owned that clinic's. The veterinarians themselves were very kind, compassionate and provided really good care for my pet.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Frankfurt and Dr. Collier saw my 10 yr old chihuahua Friday and they saved her life. I’m so thankful we went in for a regular check up and Dr. Frankfurt noticed immediately that her belly was swollen and needed x-rays at the very least. Finding out my girl needed immediate surgery was shocking and heartbreaking as is, but she reassured me the surgeon, Dr. Collier, is someone she would trust with her own animal and is able to see her on the same day. My pup is now healing at home and I can’t express enough how thankful I am for these doctors.

Experiencia negativa: I came here on October 30, 2022 to put my dog down. He was 16 years old, and I had him since I was 9 years old — letting him go was one of the hardest decisions of my life. That day, I signed the paperwork, paid for private cremation, selected the wooden box, and was told I would receive his ashes back. When I later called to check on his remains, I was devastated to learn that the clinic had mislabeled him as communal cremation instead of private cremation. Because of this error, I will never receive my dog’s ashes, despite requesting and paying for them. I truly appreciate the staff’s kindness and compassion on such a difficult day, but this mistake completely changed how the experience ended. If having your pet’s ashes is important to you, please reconsider coming here or triple-check that everything is labeled correctly. I will never have him back, and that is something I will have to live with forever

Experiencia negativa: I brought my dog to this emergency vet in the early hours of the morning and he was diagnosed with pancreatitis. While the diagnosis itself was correct, my experience with Dr. Raven Horne was extremely disappointing and stressful during an already exhausting situation. My dog is on multiple medications, including steroids, and I have been actively trying to understand his treatment to advocate for him. When Dr. Horne suggested a pain medication, I calmly raised a concern about a potential interaction with his current steroids. Instead of reassuring me or explaining her reasoning, she became immediately defensive. She pulled out her phone and held it in my face to “prove” her point, which felt confrontational and unnecessary especially at 4 a.m. when I was exhausted and scared for my dog. At no point did I feel reassured or supported. A few calm words explaining the plan would have gone a long way. When I asked for my dog’s records to be forwarded so I could consult my primary veterinarian for a second opinion (a very normal and responsible request), Dr. Horne reacted with visible annoyance and questioned why I would need to speak to another vet. That response felt inappropriate and dismissive. Additionally, there was little to no guidance provided about recovery. I was not warned about the severity of post-pancreatitis symptoms, including frequent diarrhea, urgency, or how disruptive recovery can be at home. The lack of discharge education was shocking and left me unprepared for what followed. Emergency vet visits are emotionally and physically draining. Compassion, communication, and professionalism matter, and in this case, they were lacking. I’m now sure how the other doctors at Hillside are but I would absolutely not recommend Dr. Horne based on my experience.

Experiencia fantástica: Took Buddy in for his follow-up. Dr. Nolan helped us he was amazing. He was able to examine Buddy with little to no snapping which he can be at times. I would like to thank the entire Hillside staff for all their help. From the emergency room visit to the follow-up. If you are looking for a great ER room or just a great Vet I would HANDS-DOWN recommend Hillside Vet.

Experiencia negativa: I recently visited this hospital in hopes of getting my dog some medical attention and care. My dog walked in being able to walk and to even jump around before then. I went in and they told me she had some pain on her back and lower legs, and sent me home with 2 different pills and administered a pain injection. I live 15 min away from the hospital. Before i left my dog was walking around, and the assistant suggested I hold her instead when walking out, so I did. I got home and put her on my bed to rest, suddenly in those 15 minutes my dog lost the ability to walk and the movement in her hinds legs. Terrified, I called the hospital vet and asked if it was normal. The doctor told me to send her a video, and she would review it and see if she recommends me to come back. She saw it and ultimately requested for me to come back. I right away drove to the hospital again. In my second visit, she told me she believes my dog has a disease that ultimately took over her body and blamed the reason she lost her ability to walk to the disease she supposedly has. She recommended I get X-rays and MRI which is more than 3k alone just for that. I don’t have 3k lying around to pay up front so I asked what should I do. She told me the only thing she could do is give her another shot and send her home to rest, that there is nothing they can do. I made my concern and confusion known, that it does not make sense for my dog to lose her ability to walk and to even feel in her hind legs in less than 20 minutes. She had no explanation for me and told me she doesn’t know why that happened, and that she has never seen anything like this before. Do not come here unless you want your dog to be worse than they were before. I fully believe they are the cause of why my dog lost her ability to walk in less than 20 minutes. I am deeply upset. UPDATE: I sadly lost my dog.

Experiencia negativa: I want to update the review of my cat’s emergency exam by Dr. Daniel Gutierrez yesterday, December 7th. I took her to another veterinary clinic early this morning because her paw was so swollen and twisted from Dr. Gutierrez’s examination, she was unable to walk on it or even touch anything with it. The female doctor gently examined it, and took her back for a couple of X-rays; the X-rays confirmed her leg was not broken. I was so relieved. The doctor took 2 X-rays, conducted a pathology review of the fluid sample from my cat’s extremely swollen paw, gave her 2 injections—1 for pain and to reduce inflammation, the other an antibiotic to control possible infection, and 2 pain/inflammation pills to take over the next few days. The total bill was $495. The same services at Hillside would have been $1,100–if I had consented to them.

Experiencia negativa: Took my cat to the Sunday after-hours clinic for a limp she’d just developed, with visible swelling of her ankle. I thought she’d sprang her ankle. Dr. Daniel Gutierrez examined her, and told me he thought she’d hurt her shoulder. When we got home, she couldn’t walk on it at all, or put any pressure on it. He had wrenched her paw and broken it. It was completely twisted sideways. I was horrified.

Dr. Nieswiadomy and her assistant Jessica were so pleasant and knowledgeable. My cat Sasha can be a bit fussy but they knew just how to handle her. The outcome of her examination was explained and my questions were answered with a clear understanding. I would recommend Hillside Veterinary Clinic for anyone seeking a great establishment for your pet. KUDOS to the whole staff.

The kindness and compassion really shows as they truly care about your pet. Dr. Collier spent so much time with us answering our questions and giving her expert advice. We are truly grateful for this place and the people who work there. I have no hesitation in referring others to this clinic. In fact, between our home vet and Hillside Veterinary Clinic, these will be the only two places that we will go. Excellent Care and Quality Service!

Experiencia fantástica: I had to make the difficult decision to bring my cat in as she was declining quickly due to age and various medical challenges. I knew in my heart it might be time and though I had an appointment at our regular vet I decided to come in to Hillside at around 11pm as I didn't want her to continue suffering through the night. Dr. Walling and the entire team was so incredibly compassionte, walking me through my options. I knew after speaking to Dr. Walling and thinking of what was best for my pet, that it was time. He and the team showed me to a special room that was set up with a couch, soft lighting, music - even water and snacks. They let me spend all the time I needed with my kitty. Dr. Walling noted he was from out of town and assisting for 4 nights and that it was his last night in Dallas - and I 100% think it was meant for Dr. Walling to be there and assist me/Frannie with the final steps of her journey. While I am sad and miss my pet, the entire experience was more than I expected and could have hoped for. Before I left, Dr. Walling and I hugged and he had tears in his eyes as well. The team of front desk staff and techs were equally compassionate and kind. While this is not a visit anyone wants to make, I am eternally grateful to the Hillside team for walking me through the events early this morning. HUGS. What you do is important, and it matters. Over the years, they’ve treated our pets like family and that means everything. Recently, we faced one of the hardest experiences any pet owner could go through: saying goodbye to our two senior dogs, just a week apart. It was devastating. Yet through every tear and every question, the staff at Hillside stood beside us with patience, empathy, and genuine kindness. They didn’t just see our dogs as patients; they honored their lives and comforted us in our grief. On our most recent visit, we brought in our new puppy our little ray of light after so much loss. That’s when we met Dr. Hardin. Though young, he carries himself with the wisdom, compassion, and calm assurance of someone far beyond his years. He took the time to explain every detail, made sure we felt comfortable, and connected instantly with our pup, who absolutely adores him. We’re deeply grateful to have found such a dedicated and heartfelt team at Hillside. Their care goes far beyond medicine it’s love, understanding, and genuine humanity. We wouldn’t trust our pets with anyone else.

One of the biggest struggles with large corporate vet clinics is that you lose so much personal touch and compassion, so I appreciated the call. I was informed that the person answering phones that night was not the.normal person and that the issue would be addressed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Garbage smug people have zero compassion or communication skills. Told me they have no appointments next day, so I could call and change the time. When I called back they said they could take him as a walk in for over a third more price. When I complained, I was told they would send records for both of my dogs as if they food not want my business anymore. Thrive is awful.

Experiencia fantástica: We’ve been using hillside vet for years. Started with just using the vaccine clinic they had on Sundays and then we eventually started using them for annual/urgent vet visits. We have had nothing but great experiences. About a week ago, we had to put our sweet 17 year old Loki to rest. It was the first time we had ever been through this. Hillside staff was so kind and patient with us while we said our goodbyes, but most importantly- they made Loki comfortable. I was impressed with the whole experience given it was one of the more difficult things we had been through. I highly recommend them!

Experiencia negativa: I called a week ago. 7days. Requested to speak with a specific doctor. 4 days go by and I don’t hear anything. I have to call back. Then I’m told what the plan is and that I’d be contacted the next day. Well guess what that didn’t happen. I had to show in person, just to be told that the prescription has been filled. Won’t be back. It’s really gone to crap since the new ownership.

Experiencia negativa: My DOG is DEAD. Why? Ask them to see my file before taking your pet. Euthanasia was suggested shortly after arrival. We chose not to.

Experiencia positiva: Initial consultation is $185 but I was willing to pay because I love my animals. But additional services should be consulted before being done instead being told when paying. My cat needed an ultrasound, which I knew it would probably need to be done, but I would have loved to have a recording of it if I have to pay for it! I asked the lady about it and all she said was "sorry" shrugging her shoulders. Overall, the people are nice but it is pricey. 10 min consult equalled almost $300!

Y'all are so o rare: Good Humans. The best. We've been taking our animals to hillside for years. They were amazing when my dog breeds have died. We couldn't bury him, he's too big and the rocky ground and all, so they said to come over as soon as we were ready & they'd cremate him. He was. 100+ lbs and my mom and I were sobbing still, so. Uselessly, but 3 nurses together came up with a way to carry him and they sheet we used to wrap him and carry him with inside, even though he.. this mouth was still leaking Liquids and we didn't want them getting biohazards in them, but they didn't worry about it, just carried him in slow and careful. The male nurse talked to Brandon softly while they did and told him he's a good boy, that his family love him, that he's somewhere safe. I almost threw up crying at that. And now, just less than 3 weeks ago, our only other dog Jasmine, about 90 years old now & due to a patuatary gland tumor, super overweight; she was a terrier mix, her belly was almost touching the floor. And she has clearly been in pain more and more recently. That day was it and.... I didn't know my mom was taking her. Didn't know till 6 hours after she'd died. But I had heard you cry out that morning, and I thought about going to bed early and see if she was okay.... And I didn't. I didn't and I didn't get to say by or even tell her shenwas good dog. But today my sister found a letter our mom had opened but didn't show us yet cause.... Crying, and that's what the result was. Those wonderful humans all, all of them, they hand wrote to us in a card about Jazzy. And I finally can cry about her (can't stop tbh). You won't find a better vet, or nurses, for your animals. Thank you Dr. Aronon, Dr. Tiedman, Kacie, Lily, Sarah, Claire, Breanna, and Kelsie. I hope you all outlive me in good health and I wish I could give y'all something to say thanks - for this, for my Branson, for letting Jazzy go painlessly. You're all a credit to vets and nurses everywhere.

The clinic is both well-staffed and well-equipped. A special thank-you to Margarita, Kerry, Jose and Kelly for their genuine southern hospitality and for going above and beyond in caring for both me and my pet. I also appreciate the thoughtful amenities, including complimentary coffee, tea, water, available leashes, and clearly posted Wi-Fi information. I have rarely encountered a veterinary practice so organized and committed to creating such a positive experience—especially during times that can be stressful or difficult for pet owners. Thank you once again for your outstanding service and dedication.

Experiencia fantástica: Took my dog in for what I thought was a mild cough and labored breathing. They saw me promptly and did blood tests and a sonogram which revealed that she had several large cancerous masses internally. They were so kind and empathetic and helped guide me through the experience.

Experiencia negativa: I have been bringing my 14-year-old Pug mix here for ear cleanings, but the experience has been consistently disappointing. The staff will not provide a simple ear cleaning unless you schedule a full doctor visit, and when questioned, their attitude is dismissive and unhelpful. On my most recent visit, the doctor there confirmed that my dog only requires regular cleanings because her ear canal is prone to mold -- yet the staff continues to insist on unnecessary appointments. This approach feels more focused on generating revenue than on providing appropriate care. Pet owners should be aware of this before choosing this clinic.

Experiencia fantástica: This is my second experience at Hillside and they have both been amazing. I came in Friday night with large laceration on my cattle dog. The care start to finish was amazing. Without going into great detail, since every situation is different, I really appreciate when veterinary staff slow down and see the pet as an individual and what is overall best for them, even in an emergent situation. I felt the price was fair, of course it’s high for emergency care. If you can wait for your usual vet to open obviously do that.

Prior to scheduling an appointment at Hillside Veterinary Clinic, our dog had been diagnosed with diabetes and had injured her paw so needless to say, we were feeling a bit overwhelmed. Dr. Collier took the time to show us how to appropriately bandage our dog's paw and thoroughly explained the different wraps she used in the process so we could order the wraps online and redo the bandage ourselves going forward. Dr. Collier was so incredibly kind, patient, and understanding throughout our appointment and we so appreciate all of the guidance and insight she provided to us during a difficult time.

Experiencia fantástica: 8-8-2025 update Wear your mask here! I caught Covid for the first time here on 8/1/25. I know because the vet I saw was also out this week for the same reason. Took this little man to them almost one year a year ago today after rescuing him. He was all “wormy” at the time and needed all shots. Went in last week to get his annual follow up. I never choose a particular vet and we’ve seen a few, all of which were very good.

I had concerns about fleas and ticks and she answered all my questions and recommended a topical to use in my dogs case ( she has had issues with pills in the past). Anyways I highly recommend using Hillside- they are all really nice and will help you with your concerns.

Experiencia fantástica: From the start vet and technician were very transparent about prices. My cat had slipped and hurt her leg. I was clearly very upset and visibly crying, and the staff was extremely compassionate. They gave us meds, offered multiple treatment options, and even suggested how to seek non emergency treatment the next day for an x ray. My cat ended up having a sprain/strain and they suggested this as a possible diagnosis immediately. They had my cat’s best interest in mind throughout the visit and were very gentle with her.

Experiencia fantástica: We had no idea at the time but our little guy was having heart failure and Hillside came through with flying colors! We felt like a priority and were seen very quickly. All of the treatments, options, payment plans, and the details were quick when we needed it. During the experience (while processing and pretty scared) I never thought, "what is going on?" or "Why is this taking so long?" Everything was communicated in a quick, kind, and concise manner which was needed in that moment. He had to stay overnight and we felt he was in the best hands. The ICU nurses and doctors were still keeping us updated and were very patient and sweet with all of our questions and concerns. For the emergency that it was, our treatment was very ideal. The doctors have a lovely bedside manner and you can tell they really do care about their patients. We felt our little man got the best care and is thriving right now and doing great 5 days later!

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been taking my dog to Hillside for 11 years. All of the vets have been good but our usually vet, Dr. Nollen is excellent! The practice went corporate a few years ago and it feels like there is more of a sales push when I’ve been in for urgent care a few times- but I haven’t felt that with Dr. Nollen. He’s very reasonable and communicates well. Front desk staff is excellent too. Very well run practice!

Experiencia negativa: Feels more like a sales floor than a vet clinic. Every visit came with an upsell, tests, treatments, add-ons, all pushed hard, whether my pet needed them or not. It’s clear their priority is revenue, not your pet’s wellbeing. I went in looking for expert care and peace of mind, but left feeling taken advantage of. The kicker? The closest vet to them offered mor care at exactly half the price. Save yourself the stress—and your pet the unnecessary treatments. Go elsewhere.

Experiencia negativa: We've been taking our dog for a couple of years to Hillside. The last two visits we have been billed for items that weren't placed in the bag. We live in Carrollton, a good thirty minutes from Hillside, but I go to Hillside because they have history with our dog. The total we are out now for product we paid for but did not receive is a about $120.00. I'm torn as to whether or not to just check the danged bag every time before I leave to ensure that the meds we have been billed for are actually there, or if we should just go somewhere else. This is enormously discouraging. Once is likely an accident. Twice makes me wonder. Word to the wise: CHECK YOUR BAG BEFORE YOU LEAVE!!

I didn’t get to meet her last night but she remembered both our babies & she made sure to explain everything in detail to me. She made us feel very comfortable & I couldn’t be more grateful. There was a bit of confusion with some invoices that were emailed to me but she was able to get me those. Experiencia fantástica: Today I had to put my beautiful little girl cat to sleep. I must give the highest compliment to the staff at Hillside Vet Clinic. They are caring and compassionate, and many of the technician staff members have been there for many years. One NOTE: the doctor who administered the chemical that stopped my cat's heart did that procedure in front of me, which has kept me up nights. I wasn't told this ahead of time. The doctor was kind & gentle, but I'm not sure I would want to see this process in person again. Sad

Experiencia fantástica: in the end of April I brought my dog in because she was hacking which ended up actually being coughing and so she was started on antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection. I then brought her home and gave her an antibiotic and left for work. When I got to work and looked at her on my nanny cam she started vomiting so I went back home and took her back to the vet and they gave her an anti-nausea injection and sent us back home. She was doing well but she didn’t want to take her anabiotic capsules so I emptied it into a little water, the vet said I could, inside of a syringe and I gave it to her a couple times that way but the last time that I gave it to her she started choking (not gagging, actually choking) and I had to rush back to the vet emergently and she threw up in the car twice but when we got there they took her back quickly, assessed her and did x-rays to make sure she didn’t aspirate. Thank goodness she didn’t!!! During both of these visits I was treated so well by the staff and I’m very appreciative for them. I went in for a follow up the following Tuesday because she was still coughing and I had another good experience and was instructed to give her more of her cough suppressant medicine. She then was coughing through it so they called in another medicine and she ended up with diarrhea so I had to call back and get some probiotics for her. My poor girl has been on the struggle bus! Every time that I’ve reached out with questions or concerns I’ve been treated really well and there were only a few times that I spoke with a receptionist when they were not nice and didn’t even say goodbye before they hung up. However, Dr. McConnell, Dr. Molly (I can’t remember or spell her last name I’m sorry!), Dr Collier, Kathy, Margarita and some of the Vet techs whose names I don’t have on hand were so helpful and supportive and I’m very appreciative for all of their help. Thank you all so much and keep doing what you’re doing! (And maybe remind some of the staff that our pets mean the world to us and we just want to be treated kindly when they’re not feeling well and we are stressed!!)

Experiencia negativa: I don't recommend taking your puppy to hillsfor low cost vaccines. My 3 month old puppy before taking her was very happy, vibrant very full of energy and since she got 2nd vaccine on Sunday April 13th, she's been very lethargy. Don't know why they gave her the Leptospirosis vaccine to a very young puppy. It's been 3 days and no change at all. Know she needs to be hospitalized for IV treament and can't afford it. Took her because of low cost vaccines, but i guess you get what you pay for. PLEASE DON'T TAKE YOUR YOUNG PUPPY TO LOW COST VACCINES AT HILLSIDE. Update on 3 month old puppy, 5 days after: Took to my primary veterinarian for the 3rd time, and did x-rays and ultrasound, and found my puppy has an enlarged kidney infection due to the leptospirosis vaccine that was administered at Hillside low-cost clinic that affected the kidney. If you have a primary veterinarian, take you pet to them instead of here. Better off paying more at a veterinarian.

Experiencia negativa: Extremely overpriced and it felt like the people that work there were just trying to sell me on more things to pay for. I wasn’t willing to pay $1300 to do X-rays, bloodwork, and a few other things so the woman tried guilt tripping me. Truly seemed like these people just want the money imo. Found another vet that only charged $250 for the same work…go figure.

Experiencia negativa: I have spent thousands of dollars at this vet and was told the incorrect appointment time. I called to say that I was running five minutes behind and they told me that they would not be able to see me without charging me an urgent care fee and that I would be put at the back of the line. The lady on the phone was not understanding and rude.

Experiencia fantástica: I needed to take my 10 week old puppy in at 1am. The staff was wonderful and so kind and very detailed. I highly recommend Dr Patel and her team Carolina, Ruby, Mary and Letty (nurses). They were very thoughtful about spending money on only what was necessary. I highly recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: My poor Pekingese, Barry, had an accident where his eye popped out slightly, and there was blood. I rushed to an emergency vet where they made us wait an hour and a half after telling us it was very likely he would lose his eye. Then, they wanted to wait another two and a half hours before operating. Extremely distressed, I started calling other emergency vets, and thank God, I found Hillside and Dr. Patel. The front desk was incredibly kind and spoke directly with the doctor to explain our urgency. As soon as we arrived, she attended to Barry with great care and affection, taking him in for evaluation. With a lot of patience, she explained to me that after running the necessary tests and consulting three other colleagues for second opinions, the best option was to remove his eye. Even with the heartbreaking news, her kindness, patience, and professionalism made me feel safe and heard from the very beginning. Every staff member I interacted with was extremely kind and professional. As soon as Barry came out of surgery, they let me know everything had gone well. When I went to pick him up, the doctor once again took the time to thoroughly explain everything and ensured there was space for his follow-up in ten days. I will definitely make Hillside and Dr. Jasmin Patel my trusted vet. She made a terrifying and horrible experience much more bearable. Thank God, Barry is now a pirate, but he is perfectly healthy and happy. Also we get to meet Dr. Patel's baby dog Lolo who also is missing an eye! Barry is waiting for Lolo to text him back!

Experiencia negativa: Hillside is a place to take animals you do not expect to survive. They are more than happy to offer to euthanize a family member after a 30 second observation. We had a cat come for sub cutaneous fluids and on the second visit, I did not demand to stay with my cat. They brought him out of the back in the carrier unable to walk. He never walked again and they got their wish. I do not recommend this place to anyone who expects a good outcome or full recovery. If you do not want your animal anymore this is the place to go.

Experiencia positiva: I'm giving a 3 star b/c front staff is awful. Haven't been back in 2 years after I literally RAN inside with my husband carrying my DYING dog to the front office person looking at us, my dog, and then helping the woman at the desk with a perfectly fine dog. Literally my dog was bleeding internally, couldn't hold her head up, and white tongue hanging out. Thank GOD for the vet who was compassionate, even the tech was awful. The vet is now gone. And I will never return there. The front office woman LOOKED AT MY DYING DOG and did not even ask if we were ok. I had to interrupt her. I had been a patient there for YEARS with multiple dogs. Because of the turnover and THIS indecent I'll never go back. It's taken me 2 years to write this because I still have nightmares about sitting in the waiting room while my dog was DYING and the inconsiderate staff just looking at her.

The docs treat my cats with care and confidence. They give an itemized estimate before any procedures are done so you can be comfortable with treatment. They communicate test results promptly. I have had only good experiences.

Experiencia negativa: If it were possible, I would have given no stars. The most horrifying experience ever. I brought my 5 lb 11 yr old Yorkie in bc she was sick and had oozing from her right eye. I asked to treat the symptoms and they refused. After running bloodwork, etc this Dr Patel came in and told me my dog was old and sick and really needed to be put down. Naturally I went to pieces bc I was hysterical and shocked. I opted out. They gave her meds, none of which were an antibiotic for her eye bc it was an afterthought for them. Instead they gave her lubricant ointment. I’ve been using this vet for 15 years. I told them I would call in my credit card #. This woman at the front desk yelled across the waiting room “no payment, no fluids!” Extremely embarrassing and RUDE. I took my dog home and nursed her back to health with one exception. Her eye is so infected that now an eye specialist has to remove her eye. I was charged close to $1000 by hillside. Seriously? They wanted to kill my baby. Thank God I didn’t listen to them. I also fault them 100% for the now huge eye dr bill. The worst of it is that she has to have surgery to remove her eye. These people were both rude and incompetent. Basically malpractice.

Experiencia negativa: They were extremely rude, charged $1600 for less than an hours worth of work on my cat, where they immediately suggested euthanasia, and the said that would be an additional charge, minimum $160. They lied about their hours of operation. They refused to provide an itemized bill. I've never experienced something so insane and heartless. After speaking with a handful of friends, they all have had bad experiences with Hillside and say their go to always seems to be euthanasia.

They did not provide me with all available treatment options because they thought I was trying to ‘save money’ based on decisions my househelper had originally made days before. These are not good, ethical people. My now deceased dog and I deserved better.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been wanting to write this, but every time I try, I get choked up I was referred to this location several years back when my baby who I knew had congestive heart failure was going to pass and the day that it happened we brought him here words cannot describe the compassion, understanding, love and care that we received throughout that horrible experience Of having to watch our baby go through congestive heart failure! Once we walked in the door, the way we were met in THE MOST caring attentive way, helped me gain my composure so that our family could say our final goodbyes And on this past Thursday, December 5, we lost another one of our family rocks that LITTERALY held our family together! She was everything i wish i could be We were blessed to have both of our babies, cremated here, and it was done with the upmost respect in the world. We could not have gotten through any of this without this clinic!!! You guys are literally angels walking among us. And our family loves you guys endlessly♥️ Thank you all for stepping up and doing what you have in life to be in a position to help us all

They always welcomed me with open arms. I scheduled to have him “cross the rainbow bridge” and they were so loving and gentle. My sick baby passed so comfortably in my arms, with his mommy. Experiencia negativa: My dog was hit by a car. Had bruising on belly. Wanted to get scanning for internal bleeding for humane reasons. They refused to offer that service, and instead would only do scan if we leave our dog overnight to "stabilize" her which was 2 thousand dollars plus an undisclosed amount for the scan. Any problem your dog has, they will try to get you to make them stay so they can rack up a ridiculous bill. Took her to city vet and was charged 170. That is almost a 800% markup.
