MedVet Dallas: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: When my dog had more than one seizure in a row, my vet recommended taking him to an emergency clinic to be seen. They offered two local options and I selected MedVet because of their specialist services. Upon arrival, all staff was accommodating and gracious with me as I was very upset and worried. They took him back and communicated with me through the whole process. The vet provided feedback and we discussed options. I was very pleased with the whole experience despite the circumstances. While I hope to never have to return, I am happy to know my pets will be in good hands should we need to. Thank you for your kindness.
Kelly, witnessing multiple seizures in a row is terrifying, and we’re so glad you felt supported from the moment you arrived. Providing calm guidance, clear communication, and thoughtful discussion of options is especially important during neurological emergencies. It means a great deal that you chose us for our specialty services and felt cared for despite the circumstances. Thank you for trusting our team with your dog — we’re always here if you need us.
Experiencia fantástica: I had been told to take my fur baby home and keep her comfortable bc the tumor was fatal cancer. Imagine the joy I feel now that the oncologist at Med Vet told me her results were benign! They are thorough and compassionate. Thank you Med Vet for being there for Chloe Frances and me!
Gwenda, what an incredible moment that must have been for you and Chloe Frances. After preparing your heart for devastating news, hearing that her results were benign is such a gift. We’re so glad our oncology team could provide thorough answers and compassionate care during such an emotional time. Thank you for trusting us with your beloved companion.
Experiencia fantástica: Quick efficient care was provided to my english bulldog. I was afraid of a bowel obstruction after an afternoon of vomiting. They quickly triaged her , medicate and took X-rays. We were in and out in less than 2 hours on a very busy night. Cost was very reasonable
Suzanne, fearing a bowel obstruction is incredibly stressful, especially after an afternoon of vomiting. We’re so glad your English Bulldog was quickly triaged, evaluated, and treated, even on a busy night. Providing efficient, thorough emergency care while keeping families informed is always our goal. Thank you for trusting our team and for sharing your kind words.
Experiencia fantástica: MedVet took excellent care of my pup. They called with updates throughout the night and even sent pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind. If you ever find yourself in a situation where your fur baby needs extra care and attention, I highly recommend them. So grateful for the compassion and communication we received.
Savannah, thank you for trusting our team overnight with your pup. We’re so glad the updates and photos gave you peace of mind, and we truly appreciate your kind words about the compassion and communication you received.
Experiencia fantástica: Very thorough Opthamology appointment and options were given for treatment for my dog. But we still need to see internal medicine for a discussion on how continuous high BS will affect his eyes if we do cataract surgery or if would be a waste of money.
Kim, thank you for your thoughtful review. We’re glad your dog’s ophthalmology visit was thorough and that treatment options were clearly explained. We also appreciate how carefully you’re considering the bigger picture with internal medicine as you weigh next steps. Thank you for trusting our team, and we’re here to support you as you work through the best plan for your dog.
Experiencia negativa: $7,000 later and I was told needle biopsies were inconclusive. No recommendations for treatment just sent my dog home and recommended I put him down. He was there for 3 days and a different doctor saw him every day. No continuity in his care! They sent him home on a catheter with no recommendations of how to treat the tumor in his prostate pressing on his urethra. Yet it if you Google it it says you can put a stent in. So no recommendations for this place!
Catherine, we’re very sorry this experience left you feeling this way. We know families come to MedVet because they want the best possible care for their dog, and our team is committed to providing exactly that—comprehensive, specialty-level medicine with thoughtful recommendations based on what is safest and most appropriate for each individual patient. We also understand that in serious and complex situations, the recommendations shared are not always what anyone hopes to hear, and it sounds like there may be some confusion or misunderstanding about the severity of your dog’s condition and what the diagnostic findings meant for available options. When needle biopsies are inconclusive, it can limit what can be responsibly recommended without risking the wrong treatment approach, and options such as stenting are not appropriate for every patient; they depend on a pet’s stability, diagnostic findings, and whether that procedure is medically indicated and likely to help. As a 24/7 hospital, different doctors may be involved over multiple days due to shift-based coverage, but your dog’s medical record and care plan are shared to support continuity across the team. We take concerns about communication and discharge guidance very seriously, especially when a urinary catheter is involved, and we would welcome the chance to clarify what was recommended and why. If you are open to it, please call and ask to speak with a member of our leadership team so we can review the visit and answer your questions. We remain committed to supporting you and your family through this difficult time.
Experiencia fantástica: The most kind and empathetic staff over in the humane euthanasia department of this MedVet. They made a very hard loss, a little less hard. They worked with my Mom and I in such a way, with the most compassion and that meant the world to us in this entire process. I believe their names were Elizabeth, Sarah, and Dr. Smetana. Thank you ladies, truly.
Harmony, we are so sorry for your loss. Saying goodbye is incredibly hard, and we’re grateful you felt supported with compassion and empathy throughout the process. Helping families feel cared for during end-of-life moments is one of the most meaningful responsibilities we carry. Thank you for trusting our team to care for your beloved companion and your family.
Experiencia positiva: Had to take my dog there when she had trouble breathing. They were very nice and fast and were able to help her. Only negative thing I could say is the doctor at the time I suggest keeping her overnight but the other two nurses told me that she seemed fine to go home, so not sure if they were pushing extra charges on me or not. But I appreciate all the assistance. They were very sweet and helpful.
Thank you for sharing your experience and for trusting us when your dog was having trouble breathing — that can be incredibly scary. We’re glad she was seen quickly and that you felt supported by our team. When it comes to recommendations such as overnight hospitalization, our doctors base those suggestions on a patient’s condition, monitoring needs, and potential for rapid change. Our team members may also share observations about how a patient appears at that moment, but final recommendations are made with safety and medical judgment in mind. We’re always transparent about options and associated costs so families can make informed decisions, never to push unnecessary services. If you’d like to talk through that recommendation in more detail, we’d be happy to review it with you. We truly appreciate you bringing her to us and hope she’s continuing to do well.
Experiencia fantástica: When our beloved dog began having seizures, MedVet got her in immediately and have done a great job answering questions, responding to phone calls, and helping us feel calmer about everything. I highly recommend them for your pets neurological needs!
Anne, watching your beloved dog begin having seizures must have been incredibly frightening. We’re so glad our team was able to see her right away and provide the guidance and support you needed during such a stressful time. Answering questions thoroughly and staying responsive to calls is an important part of helping families feel steady when things feel uncertain. Thank you for trusting us with her neurological care — we’re honored to be part of your sweet girl’s healthcare team.
Experiencia fantástica: Sadly, we had to bring our dog Izzie here as a final option to figure out what was going on. Unfortunately, we did have to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye, but the staff was truly amazing. They explained all of our options in a way we could understand and clearly broke down the pricing for everything. Everyone was so kind and understanding of our situation. When we made the decision, we never felt rushed. They have a peaceful, private room where you can say your goodbyes, which meant so much to us during such a difficult time. We greatly appreciated their compassion and care.
Katie, we are so deeply sorry for the loss of Izzie. Facing that final decision is heartbreaking, and we’re grateful you felt supported with clear explanations, transparent pricing, and the time you needed to say goodbye. Providing a peaceful, private space and ensuring families never feel rushed is incredibly important to our team. Thank you for trusting us with Izzie’s care during such a difficult moment. It was an honor to walk alongside you and your cherished companion in their final chapter.
Experiencia fantástica: Extremely impressed by all the people that I encountered. Their process seemed efficient. Loved the updates throughout the day. Great job!
Robert, thank you for your kind words. Providing an efficient process and consistent updates throughout the day is incredibly important to us, especially when families are waiting anxiously. We’re grateful you felt supported and informed. Thank you for choosing us to care for your beloved companion — we’re honored to be part of their healthcare team.
Experiencia fantástica: Thank you all especially the med vet techs and Dr Keane for the gentleness with me and kindness to pookie during his final days. He had a beautiful death experience and I’m forever grateful. Everyone went above and beyond for us even sent us a card with condolences. Truly outstanding care in most difficult times.
Jordan, we are so deeply sorry for the loss of Pookie. Hearing that his final days were filled with gentleness and kindness means more than we can say. Providing a peaceful, dignified experience during such a difficult time is something our team holds close to heart. We’re grateful you felt supported — from the care provided in the moment to the condolences shared afterward. Thank you for allowing us to care for your sweet boy. It was an honor to be part of Pookie’s life and to walk alongside you during his final chapter.
Experiencia negativa: I brought my dog in a 2:30am Jan 24th for vomiting and diarrhea. She was tested for leptospirosis. She went into cardiopulmonary arrest by 3:30pm. Her attending internal med vet (whose bedside manner, not great. Also called my dog “ornamental”) explained it by saying “she just gave up, she just gave up.” This dog walked into the ER 12 hrs previously. Her liver markers were high, but she wasn’t even 7yrs old. Antibiotics and hydration would have helped, from what I gather. Did the combination of pain meds and sedation on her fragile liver cause arrest? Is it possible to test for leptospirosis without sedation? Idk. I guess I’ll just live regretting the medical decisions I made on behalf of my sweetheart of a pup.
Kim, we are deeply sorry for the loss of your sweet girl. Losing a beloved companion so suddenly is devastating, and we can hear how many painful questions you’re still carrying.
Because we do not have enough identifiable information based on the details provided here, we are unable to review the specifics of your dog’s case. Out of respect for your privacy, we also cannot discuss patient or client medical information in a public forum. It is clear there are questions regarding the care plan our team presented and provided, and those deserve a thoughtful, thorough conversation.
We can assure you that when families bring their pets to MedVet — especially in the middle of the night during an emergency — it reflects their desire to pursue the very best possible care. Our doctors make recommendations based on the patient’s condition at that time, and all diagnostics and treatments are discussed and approved before proceeding. If you would like to review the medical decisions, medications administered, or testing recommendations in greater detail, we would genuinely welcome that opportunity.
Please call and ask to speak with a member of our leadership team, or email [email protected] with your dog’s name and your contact information so we can look into this privately and provide clarity. We remain committed to supporting you as you navigate this loss. Your dog mattered deeply, and so does your peace of mind.
Experiencia negativa: Midnight decided to take my 19 year old cat in due to unrinary issues.Testing provided (Ultrasound” ) was not accurate. Told me probably cancer. Then told me to get a test by my vet BRAF to confirm cancer. My vet talked with 2 Oncology specialists that indicated that the test was for dogs and should not be given to cats. My vet gave my cat the ultra sound test and it was normal and a urine test which indicated some crystals and inflammation. Easy fix. Due to weekend and a holiday, i had a couple of days to experience grief and distress over the diagnosis. I should get a partial refund for what I went through. The medication I took was helpful - reason for two stars and not one. Was a not a good experience and would not go again if need afterhours help.
Joy, we can only imagine how distressing it must have been to hear the possibility of cancer for your 19-year-old cat, especially over a weekend and holiday when you were left sitting with that fear. When families bring a senior companion in for urinary concerns, it’s because they are trying to do everything possible to protect them, and those conversations carry a lot of emotional weight.
In emergency settings, ultrasounds are often used as a diagnostic tool to identify abnormalities in real time, and when concerning findings are seen, doctors may discuss potential differentials — including serious possibilities — so families are fully informed. These discussions are meant to outline possibilities rather than confirm a final diagnosis, and follow-up testing with a primary veterinarian or specialist is often recommended to clarify findings. That said, we understand how difficult it is to hear worst-case possibilities, and we never want families to feel unnecessary distress.
We would truly appreciate the opportunity to review your visit and better understand your concerns, including the testing and recommendations discussed. If you’re open to it, please call and ask to speak with a member of our leadership team, or email [email protected] with your cat’s name, your contact information, and any additional details so we can ensure this is directed appropriately. Your cat’s wellbeing matters deeply to us, and we value the trust families place in our team.
Experiencia fantástica: MedVet quickly helped my Boston Terrier when she had diarrhea & was lethargic. They gave her in skin fluids, anti nausea injection, & a probiotic & she was better by the next day! We always recommend MedVet!
Citlalli, we’re so glad your beloved Boston Terrier responded quickly to our care and was feeling better by the next day. When pets come in lethargic or dealing with GI upset, prompt supportive care can make a big difference. Thank you for recommending our team and for trusting us with her care.
Experiencia fantástica: I took my dachshund in to have emergency back surgery and the entire staff was amazing throughout the whole process. They loved on my baby boy and were quick to respond to messages after we got home! Highly recommend!
Dawn, thank you for trusting us with your beloved Dachshund’s emergency back surgery. We know how frightening that situation can be, and we’re so glad you felt supported every step of the way—from hospitalization through follow-up communication at home. Providing attentive updates and being responsive after discharge are such important parts of recovery. Your recommendation means so much to our team, and we’re wishing your sweet boy continued healing.
Experiencia fantástica: Dr Graves, Haley and team has been amazing to us. We got the attention, needs and expectations met with our visit. Extremely appreciative
Isabela, thank you for recognizing Dr. Graves, Haley, and our team. We’re so glad you felt your needs and expectations were met and that you received the attention and support you were looking for. Clear communication and compassionate care are important to us, especially during stressful situations. We truly appreciate your trust and hope your pet continues to do well.
Experiencia fantástica: The Staff and the Vets were very kind and caring. They provided excellent care and support for our pet. We are glad that they are there to help heal Scout
Russell, thank you for your kind words. We’re so glad you felt supported by our doctors and team and that Scout received the care he needed. It means a lot to know you trust us to help heal him. We hope Scout continues to recover well and gets back to enjoying his days feeling his best.
Experiencia negativa: We were referred to this facility as it was presented as the only ophthalmology option available to see our 8-week-old puppy for a deep eye scratch. Given the seriousness of the injury, we expected clear guidance, expertise, and confident communication. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. Dr. Abby Sturbaum did not provide clear direction regarding treatment options. Many of our questions were answered with uncertainty such as “I’m not sure,” “It’s hard to tell,” or “I’ll have to ask.” While medicine can involve unknowns, we expected a specialist to be able to confidently explain likely outcomes, risks, and recommendations. Instead, we left feeling confused, unsupported, and without a clear plan. In a situation involving a young puppy and a potentially serious eye injury, communication, knowledge, and professionalism are critical. We did not feel those standards were met during our visit. Based on our experience, we would not recommend her services. The only positive aspect of our appointment was the nurse/tech who assisted us. She was compassionate, thorough, and took the time to explain the exam and testing process. Her care and demeanor stood out during an otherwise frustrating experience. We hope this feedback is taken seriously, as specialty care requires both expertise and clear, confident communication.
Nejira, we understand how stressful it is to seek emergency specialty care for an 8-week-old puppy with a serious eye injury. Situations involving deep corneal scratches can be frightening, and it’s completely natural to want clear direction and reassurance.
Corneal injuries, particularly in young patients, can be medically complex. Prognosis often depends on factors such as depth, tissue viability, response to medication, and how the eye progresses over the first several days. Because of this, specialists will often discuss a range of possible outcomes rather than offer absolute predictions. When you heard phrases such as “it’s hard to tell” or “I’ll need to confirm,” that reflects careful, responsible medicine — not uncertainty about the condition itself. In ophthalmology, measured communication is critical to avoid overstating outcomes before all diagnostics are complete.
Dr. Sturbaum is extensively trained in advanced ophthalmic care, and her recommendations are made with the long-term vision and comfort of each patient in mind. Specialty medicine requires precision and caution, especially when dealing with a developing eye in a young puppy.
We appreciate you recognizing the technician who supported you. Compassion and thorough explanation are important parts of specialty care.
If you would like to review the exam findings, diagnostics, and treatment recommendations in more detail, we welcome that conversation. Please contact our hospital and ask to speak with leadership so we can ensure your questions are fully addressed.
Most importantly, we hope your puppy’s eye is healing well. Early intervention in corneal injuries can make a significant difference, and we truly wish your little one a strong recovery.
Experiencia fantástica: I love MedVet Dallas! We ended up here back in 2023 when our dog was diagnosed with epilepsy and the neurology team was great. Our dog ended up rupturing a disk in his neck in late 2023 and they did surgery on him. Dr. Richardson and her team were amazing! I got daily updated on him while he was hospitalised with them. Now we are returning with our cat for liver problems and Dr. Roger’s is awesome! She is very thorough, knowledgeable, and loving with our cat. She is doing everything in her power to figure out what is going on with him. I trust MedVet with all of my pets and would recommend anyone who needs a specialist for their animal to go there. They really care about their patients. The last time I was there they had a whole special send off for a patient who graduated from oncology and it was just so heart warming to see. They aren’t just trying to get money from you, they really really want to help and make sure your pets are taken care of.
Taylor, reading your review means so much to us. Thank you for trusting our team with your dog through epilepsy management and spinal surgery, and now with your cat’s liver concerns. Walking alongside families through complex medical journeys is exactly why our doctors and team members do what they do.
We’re so glad you felt supported by our neurology team, that you received consistent updates during hospitalization, and that you’ve experienced the same thorough, compassionate care in Internal Medicine. Hearing that you trust us with all of your pets is something we do not take lightly.
Celebrating patient milestones — like oncology graduations — is incredibly meaningful for our team, too. We care deeply about every companion we treat and the families who love them. Thank you for your recommendation and for allowing us to be part of your pets’ healthcare team.
Experiencia fantástica: Everyone is so nice. Received 2 calls a day from them. My dog had spinal surgery and was treated very well. I kind of wish they would have kept him 1 more day. But that’s just my preference.
Kim, thank you for sharing your experience. Recovering from spinal surgery is no small journey, and we’re so glad you appreciated the consistent communication with twice-daily updates and the attentive care your dog received. We understand how hard it can be to bring them home and even wish for just one more day of monitoring for peace of mind. Please know our team carefully evaluates each patient’s stability and comfort before discharge, and we’re grateful you trusted us with such an important procedure.
Experiencia fantástica: When we arrived with our dog, we were greeted by Nancy, who was so kind and compassionate. She took our dog back immediately without hesitation. If it wasn’t for Dr. Hansel, (I don’t know if that is spelled right) our dog would not be here. She knew exactly what to do how to treat her and how aggressive to be. then Dr. Williams took over when Ruby was in the ICU and continued with her good care the staff in the back were so wonderful attending to each dog. I never once heard them complain. for what they do They don’t get enough thanks. we want to say our dog is here today because of them. It was my daughter‘s dog and my grand dog, but she is doing well and recovering because of this hospital
Valerie, reading about Ruby’s recovery is such a gift. When a beloved companion is critically ill, every moment matters. We’re grateful our team could step in quickly and provide decisive, attentive ICU care. It means so much to hear that Ruby is recovering well. Thank you for trusting us with such an important member of your family.
Experiencia fantástica: I took two of my pups there after a fight with another dog. One had huge injuries and the other minor. The staff were so nice, helpful and patient. You could tell they all really love animals!!
We’re so sorry your pups had to go through something so scary. Dog fights are incredibly stressful, especially when injuries are involved. We’re grateful you brought them in and that our team could help care for both of them. It means a lot to hear that you felt supported and saw the love our team has for animals. Wishing both of your pups continued healing and comfort.
Experiencia positiva: Was referred by my vet. I've never been in a human hospital that was this nice. Pretty comes at a price. Like any other Dr. office or hospital it all about making money. They wanted to do extra procedures that I didn't think were necessary. I came in for a estimated cost of necessary surgery on my 13 y/o dog. They quoted me 6k to 8k. When I said no thanks, bring him back they looked at me like I had no heart. I took him to Dallas Animal Urgent Care and they did the surgery for $1200. Make up your own mind.
Dane, we understand how overwhelming it can feel to receive a surgical estimate that’s significantly higher than expected, especially when you’re trying to make the best decision for a 13-year-old dog you care about deeply. Those moments are emotional and financial at the same time, and that can make everything feel heavier.
When our doctors provide surgical estimates, they are typically based on advanced monitoring, anesthesia support, specialized equipment, and contingency planning for potential complications. Recommendations for additional diagnostics or procedures are intended to ensure the safest possible outcome, not to add unnecessary expense. That said, we respect that every family has to weigh options carefully and decide what feels right for their pet.
We’re sorry to hear you felt judged during that conversation — that is never the intent. Our goal is always to provide clear information so owners can make informed decisions without pressure. If you would like us to review your visit and the estimate that was provided, we encourage you to call and ask to speak with a member of our leadership team, or email this review and any additional details to [email protected] so it can be directed appropriately.
Most importantly, we hope your dog is recovering well after surgery and doing comfortably at home.
Experiencia fantástica: Very professional and caring in a dire situation. They treated me and my dog with kindness and concern. Emergency surgery was required and they took care of it quickly. They kept me updated and informed. My boy was on death’s door and they took care of him immediately. He came home the next day and is doing great. If I had a complaint, it would be that I won’t have the pathology results for 10 business days. I realize that probably isn’t MedVet’s fault, but it would be much better to get results sooner to know what we are dealing with. Overall I am very happy with the treatment I received and the treatment my dog received.
Sherri, thank you for your thoughtful review. Facing emergency surgery is overwhelming, and we’re grateful you felt supported, informed, and treated with urgency and compassion. We understand how difficult it is to wait for pathology results when you want answers quickly, and we appreciate your understanding of that process. We’re so glad your boy is home and recovering.
Experiencia fantástica: I brought my dog to MedVet Dallas after he had been up coughing all night, and every staff member we encountered was professional, kind, and respectful. From the front desk to the doctor, they made me feel calm and reassured, even though I knew my situation wasn’t the most severe. They treated both me and my dog like we were their only patients. The team was upfront and clear about all charges, and the final cost was exactly what I expected. I was very impressed with the care and compassion we received and would highly recommend MedVet Dallas.
Rachael, thank you for such thoughtful feedback. We’re glad you felt calm, informed, and supported throughout your visit, and that expectations around care and costs were clear. Your trust and recommendation mean a great deal to our team.
Experiencia fantástica: So interesting how reviews of vet places vary so much. Unfortunately I had to go to three facilities in less than 1 week and VEG ER and MedVet were both fantastic! Unfortunately we still had to put our sweet Kora down but the vet at MedVet did a great job trying to save her. I know humans and dogs are not the same but I'm a human doctor and I know the work that went into trying to keep our Kora alive and reverse the downhill spiral she was in with acute renal failure on top of idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura. She was only 5 years old so this was completely unexpected! Dr. Capaldo, their internal medicine vet is highly competent! And then after it was all over, in less than a week, we got the absolute sweetest card from their staff!!
Kenneth, thank you for sharing such a thoughtful and meaningful reflection on your experience. Facing multiple emergencies in such a short span of time — and then having to say goodbye to a young dog so unexpectedly — is incredibly painful, and we’re honored you entrusted our team to care for Kora during that critical period. Our focus is always on doing everything possible medically while communicating clearly and compassionately with families as situations evolve. It means so much to hear that the care, effort, and follow-up support were meaningful to you during such a heartbreaking time. Thank you for sharing Kora with us — our hearts remain with you.
Experiencia positiva: They took fantastic care of my dog. The prices were a bit high. I think clinics know how much pets become parts of our family and the prices we will pay .
Stephanie, thank you for trusting our team with your dog and for recognizing the attentive care provided. We understand how emotionally invested families are when their pets need help, and our goal is always to be transparent about options so you can make decisions that feel right for your family. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
Experiencia negativa: Medvet text me asking for this review. Here is my experience from my visit. I walked in at 3am with my 2.5 year old dog that had been throwing up for the past 15 hours. They ran X-rays and concluded that one of many X-rays showed something in her stomach and she needed an ultrasound and many other expensive tests/hospitalized. I left around 6am and by 8am had my dog at a standard vet who dismissed the concerns from med vet. The new vet made the xray seem normal. They recommended an IV for de-hydration and redo X-rays that afternoon. X-rays came back normal so I took my dog home. My dog is as happy as ever today.
Mitchell, thank you for sharing your experience and for bringing your dog in during the early morning hours — we know how concerning it is when a young dog has been vomiting for an extended period, especially overnight when options are limited. In emergency settings, our doctors use the information available at the time, including imaging and clinical signs, to discuss potential concerns and next steps so families are aware of possibilities that may require prompt attention if a condition worsens. We understand how frustrating it can feel when recommendations differ between hospitals, and we’re glad to hear your dog is feeling better and doing well now. We appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective, and if you’d like to provide additional details for review, you’re welcome to email [email protected] so your feedback can be directed appropriately.
Experiencia fantástica: They were so kind and compassionate and helped me navigate the difficult situation my dog was in. MedVet referred me to the research hospital atTexas A&M and called ahead for me. Because of the doctor At Med Vet I was able to figure out how to get my dog in to see a neurologist in the middle of an ice storm. I really appreciate that they went above and beyond.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We’re truly glad our team could support you during such a difficult and stressful situation and help coordinate next steps for your dog’s care, especially under challenging circumstances. Going above and beyond for pets and their families is exactly why our doctors and team do what they do, and we’re grateful you trusted us to be part of your journey.
Experiencia fantástica: They took such great care of my little dog who was injured. They were so professional, helpful, and kind especially the lady who answers calls and manages the front desk. Anytime I mention MedVet to a pet owner, they know them well and have had a good experience. I also appreciate MedVet being open during the winter storm. Price was reasonable for the care.
Ciara, thank you for such a thoughtful review. We’re grateful you trusted our team to care for your little dog after an injury, and we’re glad you appreciated the professionalism, kindness, and support from our client service representatives and medical caregivers. It means a lot to hear that other pet families recognize and trust MedVet as well, and we’re honored to be here—especially during the winter storm—when your beloved companion needed us.
Experiencia fantástica: They were the only place open during the ice storm so they were very busy. Yes it was expensive and a long wait, but I know that's just emergency care. The staff were friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and very kind. I was extremely grateful for their hard work and demeanor. The waiting room even had a charging station, and free tea/coffee/water along with two vending machines. The place was very clean. Overall a good experience considering the circumstances.
Emily, thank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. We’re grateful you trusted our team during the ice storm and appreciated the patience, kindness, and professionalism shown in challenging circumstances. It means a lot that you felt supported, and we’re glad the environment and small comforts helped during your wait while we cared for your beloved companion.
Experiencia positiva: Would not allow me or others to go back with their pets for diagnosis or any medical procedure that they may have. You have to stay in the lobby, I'm sorry I want to be with my dog and observe treatment specially during stressful situations. The Veterinarian told me they would send me follow up procedures, which I never received. I just got an invoice. Besides these two things I did not have any other issues..
Thank you, Barlow, for your feedback. We understand how important it is to feel involved in your dog’s care, especially during stressful situations. While some veterinary hospitals allow clients to accompany their pets for exams and treatments, most of our diagnostics and procedures are performed in the treatment area rather than exam rooms. This allows our medical teams—many of whom include board-certified specialists—to work efficiently and collaboratively using specialized equipment and sterile techniques that aren’t always possible in a standard exam setting. That said, we do our best to honor client preferences whenever possible. If you expressed a desire to be present and that request was declined, please know there are medical or safety-based reasons for such decisions. But if you feel that wasn’t appropriately communicated, we’d like to hear from you directly.
Additionally, we're very concerned to hear that you did not receive your dog's follow-up instructions. Home care guidance is essential to continuity of care, and if those instructions were not received, please contact our hospital directly to confirm your contact information, or email us at [email protected] and we’ll ensure it reaches the appropriate team. Your trust means everything to us, and we want to make this right.
Experiencia fantástica: MedVet is a great place to go for an emergency. Sadly, we ended up losing our dog Blubby but it was unpreventable. The staff at MedVet handled everything with grace, they were extremely understanding when we kept wanting to see him during overnight treatment and were very communicative with us throughout the entire process. It is not easy to see your dog go. They gave us time to not only say goodbye but let us stay as long as we would like afterwards as well. Everyone is extremely compassionate and we are thankful for the understanding of the staff.
Megan, we are so sorry for the loss of your beloved Blubby. Your grief is valid and deeply felt, and we’re truly grateful to know that you appreciated the compassion and communication our team provided throughout his care. It’s our mission to walk alongside families during the most difficult moments, and we’re thankful we could offer you time, space, and understanding. Please know our hearts are with you and we’re here for you always.
Experiencia fantástica: MedVet came to the rescue in the midst of our latest winter storm. Our precious Momma dog began having what appeared to be seizures about 10:30pm. Outside it was blowing hard, about 20degrees and roughly 4” of sleet and snow lay over a base of ice. Dr Jorgensen compassionately examined and cared for her. And us. Home we came about 1:30am with our precious Momma dog. She slept fine and we have drugs for “just in case.” Oh and OS Dr Jorgensen is from - you guessed it - MINNESOTA!
Jennifer, thank you for trusting us with Tank during such a heartbreaking moment. We’re honored to have been able to care for him and to support your family through saying goodbye. Our team strives to ensure every beloved companion is treated with dignity, gentleness, and compassion, especially during moments like these. We’re holding you and everyone who loved Tank close in our thoughts.
Experiencia fantástica: This is my second review of MedVet - first one of MedVet Dallas. ER night, my cat had shown distress and neurological symptoms. The initial wait was quick and the triage attendant came out almost immediately, but my cat was stable and out of his "trance" or whatever happened. Then the wait got long. REALLY long. I get it, other pets were more severe and not stable. I finally met with the attending vet, who was again, so very thorough, patient, took her time, explained everything, even took my pet back to check his blood pressure again. (Who can blame a blind kitty when in a strange place with people grabbing, pulling, pressing - his blood pressure had been HIGH) Either way, after sending me home with my pet to monitor, the following day I got a call from our family vet. They sent all the information over to him, without me having to call him for a follow-up! I was impressed with both the thoroughness of Med-Vet AGAIN and also my local vet. Sadly, we are going through the issues again, in an ice storm, but thankful to Med-Vet and meds and talking with the vet on how to handle it, we are coping until we can get him back to his regular vet. Highly recommend.
Samantha, we appreciate you sharing another thoughtful review and are grateful for your continued trust. It means so much to know that even during a stressful ER visit, you felt supported, well-informed, and cared for. Our team is committed to communicating clearly with both pet owners and family veterinarians, and we’re glad that coordination helped ease the process for you and your beloved cat. We’re sorry to hear you’re navigating challenges again, especially during an ice storm, and hope he continues to stay stable. We’re here if you need us.
Experiencia fantástica: I brought my diabetic/IBD cat to see Dr. E for a consult after months of dealing with other vets and specialists. Dr. E was amazing and planned our steps moving forward. I appreciated his thought process in not putting my cat through more trauma! Since following Dr. E’s instructions, my cat is gaining weight and seems to be slowly recovering. I very much appreciate his time and expertise! I definitely will have Dr. E as my cat’s Dr going forward.
Annette, thank you for sharing your experience. We’re so glad your beloved cat is responding well and gaining strength, and that the plan moving forward felt thoughtful and aligned with your goals. It means a great deal to know you felt heard and supported, and we’re honored to continue caring for your cat.
Experiencia fantástica: We had a great experience here. They helped us right away and the staff was incredibly sweet and caring. It made the visit so much less stressful. Definitely recommend!
Ashley, thank you for your kind words. We’re so glad your visit felt calm and supportive and that our team helped make a stressful situation easier. We appreciate your recommendation and the opportunity to care for your pet.
Experiencia fantástica: My dog shockingly tested positive for parvo at his regular primary care vet despite receiving his DAPP vaccinations at a different accredited vet clinic (that’s a whole other story of an expired vaccine being administered). My vet recommended taking him to MedVet to get the monoclonal antibodies treatment. I took him there the same day and they were thoughtful, thorough and efficient. He’s still in recovery but he’s SO much better and eating and drinking. Thank you, MedVet!!
Liz, we know how frightening it is to receive an unexpected diagnosis like parvo, especially after you believed your dog was protected, and we’re so glad he was able to receive timely care. Our team works carefully to evaluate each patient, explain options clearly, and move quickly when early intervention can make a meaningful difference. It’s wonderful to hear he’s improving, and thank you for trusting us with his care during such a stressful time.
Experiencia negativa: The service is exceptional but when it comes to pain for a service yes you can do CareCredit but whenever you're working on your credit score you kind of don't qualify so what do you do in that case honestly it would be nice that you guys can provide a payment plan to whereas us low income on a budget disabled people seniors can be able to afford to save our pets when it comes to that time that's just me no offense to nobody thank you. Because I didn't have the money for the hospital to attend to my emotional support pet , she was only treated in reference of how much money I was that I had at that moment because of lack of money I don't know if my baby is going to be able to live longer or get cured that hurts my heart but thanks anyways . GOD BLESS,
Amelia, we can hear how heartbreaking and painful this situation has been, and we’re truly sorry for the fear and distress you experienced while trying to help your beloved companion. Our team does everything possible to work with families to help pets receive the care they need, and it is incredibly difficult for everyone involved when circumstances prevent a recommended plan from being pursued. We are heartbroken when care can’t move forward and truly hope another option was able to open up for you and that your pet is receiving the support and treatment they need. Thank you for sharing something so personal, and we wish comfort and peace to you and your companion during this difficult time.
Experiencia fantástica: Even though our little girl didn’t make it they were wonderful. They told us exactly what was going on and didn’t sugarcoat it at all. Her cancer was too aggressive and they told us that. Thanks to the meds she did get from them we had a fabulous four extra days with her, doing all her favorite things and giving her thing she couldn’t have before (chocolate). It was agonizing to have to let her go but we knew it was time with their help. Thank you for that!
Danielle, we know how incredibly painful it is to say goodbye to a beloved companion, and we’re honored to have been able to support you during such a heartbreaking time. Our team believes in being honest and clear while also focusing on comfort and quality of life, helping families make informed decisions when facing aggressive illness. We’re grateful you were able to share meaningful final days together, and please know our hearts are with you as you remember your little girl—thank you for trusting us with her care.
Experiencia fantástica: MedVet was amazing with my dog Otis. They took time to observe him and take my questions and give me their thorough opinion on the matter and the steps that needed to be taken. Everyone was friendly and accommodating . I’m also grateful they were able to see him as quickly as they did.
Megan, we know how stressful it can be when your dog isn’t feeling well, and we’re glad Otis received prompt attention and thorough evaluation. Taking time to listen, observe, and clearly explain next steps is important to us, especially during urgent visits. Thank you for trusting our team with Otis’s care.
Experiencia fantástica: The team here was absolutely amazing! They were very detailed, honest, and supportive. I unfortunately lost my sweet boy but I truly believe they did everything in their power to save him and were there with me every step of the way when it was time to let my sweet baby go to Heaven. To my surprise, I got a card in the mail today from them with their condolences. This brought me to tears! I have been so distraught about it and they have truly made it as easy as it could be. Beyond this, there team was extremely knowledgeable, the hospital was well-equipped, and their response time was incredibly quick. I will be sure to recommend them to anyone who may need their assistance! Thank you for all you do every day - I know it cannot be easy!!
Alesha, we are so deeply sorry for the loss of your sweet boy. It’s clear how much he was loved, and we’re honored to have been there for both of you during such an incredibly difficult time. We’re glad our team could walk alongside you with honesty, compassion, and support, and that the card reached you when you needed it most. Thank you for your trust, your kind words, and for recognizing the care our team puts into every patient and family. We’re holding you and everyone who loved your boy close in our thoughts.
Experiencia fantástica: Our pup was sick and Medvet was great from intake through discharge. They are up front with estimated charges and keep you informed throughout the process and hospitalization. Would highly recommend having your pet cared for by this great team of doctors
Teresa, thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad you appreciated the clear communication, transparency, and support from intake through discharge, and we’re grateful you trusted our team with your pup’s care.
Experiencia positiva: Not sure paid bill and got no written follow up directions. Everyone was nice, seemed efficient but to leave with over a $500 bill with no written communication is a bit unsettling. I was told the vet was preparing their notes but I still haven’t gotten anything and my appointment was Monday. I maybe missing something I didn’t understand?
Laura, thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. It’s concerning to hear that you did not receive your pet’s home care instructions, as we know how important that information is for clarity and peace of mind after a visit. In situations like this, it’s often related to an issue with contact information on file, and we would truly appreciate the opportunity to address that promptly. If you haven’t already, we encourage you to contact our hospital directly so we can confirm we have the correct email address, or you’re welcome to email [email protected] with your review, contact information, and any additional details, and we’ll ensure it’s shared with the appropriate team. We never want our clients to feel left with unanswered questions or uncertainty after entrusting us with their pet’s care, and your trust means a great deal to us. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate the opportunity to make this right.
Experiencia fantástica: Personnel were quick to respond to my pet's needs. Their examination was thorough. The vet spent time with me explaining my options. The technicians were kind and also spent appropriate time explaining medications.
Max, thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad our team could respond promptly, explain your options clearly, and ensure you felt informed and supported throughout your visit. We truly appreciate your trust.
Experiencia fantástica: I’m writing this with tears of gratitude because MedVet gave us back our sweet Mya (she’s okay now!). When you’re rushing to an emergency vet over New Year’s weekend, you’re already terrified. But from the moment we walked in, it was like the entire staff understood that they weren’t just treating our dog—they were caring for our whole family’s breaking hearts. This place is truly 24/7 and will NEVER turn you away. The facility itself? Stunning. Cleaner than any human ER I’ve seen. But friends, it’s the PEOPLE who will leave you speechless. Every soul we encountered radiated genuine compassion. Staff members didn’t just check on waiting families—they looked us in the eyes, really SAW our worry, and made us feel less alone in that scary lobby. What absolutely floored me: They examined Mya first, asked thoughtful questions, and focused entirely on her wellbeing BEFORE any mention of money. When they finally discussed treatment, they presented options for different budgets with zero judgment—just pure “let’s figure out how to help your baby” energy. The prices? Shockingly reasonable. Half what those commercial places charge for a fraction of the heart. They sent us home with all her medications (no pharmacy hassle!) and clear instructions that actually made sense to my frazzled brain. Y’all, no one wants to need an emergency vet, but if that moment comes, RUN don’t walk to MedVet. They turned our nightmare into hope. Our girl is back to her happy, tail-wagging self, and my heart is forever grateful. To every person who touched our lives that night: THANK YOU for treating us like family when we needed it most.
Candice, thank you so much for taking the time to share this incredibly meaningful review. We’re truly grateful that Mya is feeling better and back to her happy, tail-wagging self. Moments like these are exactly why our team is here—to care for both pets and the families who love them during the most stressful times. Your kind words about our team’s compassion, communication, and focus on Mya’s wellbeing mean more than we can say, and we’re honored you trusted us with her care over the holiday weekend. Thank you again for your heartfelt gratitude and for allowing us to be part of Mya’s journey.
Experiencia fantástica: I took my cat in at 7:30 and got home at 10. This is a critical care emergency center. My cat was attacked by a dog inside our home. Patty Williams was very kind to us and Bubba . He received a shot of antibiotics, his wounds cleaned and he was good to go home.
Jackie, thank you for sharing Bubba’s story. We’re glad our team could care for him quickly after such a frightening incident and get him comfortable and safely home. Supporting pets and their families during urgent moments is incredibly important to us, and we appreciate your trust.
Experiencia negativa: Waited 1.5 hours. Vet said temperature was 104.2. Vital signs normal. Sent us home. This, after 48 hours no food or water. Super young vet. Lacking experience. Went to another trusted vet for second opinion. Pet had inflamed gums. They did blood work. Gave her hydration with nutrients. Called to check on her at home. Even clipped her toe nails. NEVER trusting Med Vet again.
Ruth Ann, thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we understand how concerning it is when a beloved companion hasn’t been eating or drinking and you’re seeking clear answers. When pets are evaluated in an emergency setting, our doctors assess vital signs, temperature, physical exam findings, and overall stability to determine whether immediate intervention is medically indicated at that moment or whether close monitoring and follow-up are appropriate. Those recommendations are based on clinical judgment and the information available during the visit, and they are always made with a pet’s wellbeing as the priority. We’re saddened that this visit left you feeling uncertain and dissatisfied, as our team is deeply committed to providing thoughtful, thorough care and clear communication to help families make informed decisions. We would appreciate the opportunity to review your visit more closely and better understand your concerns, and if you’re open to it, we invite you to call and ask to speak with a member of our leadership team or email [email protected] with your review, contact information, and any additional details so it can be shared with the appropriate team.
Experiencia fantástica: Although I feel deep sorrow over the recent loss of my beloved Lucy, I find comfort in knowing she was surrounded by loving hands. In November, Lucy was fortunate to receive care from Dr. Gibbs, whose kindness and attentiveness were truly remarkable. Sadly, due to her ongoing chronic condition, we had to say goodbye at the end of December. I am grateful she was able to spend her final moments peacefully at home. The aftercare was thoughtfully managed by Med Vet Dallas, with Sara VanBeek offering us gentle support during this difficult time. I wholeheartedly recommend Med Vet Dallas to anyone seeking compassionate care for their pets.
Michelle, we’re deeply sorry for the loss of your beloved Lucy and appreciate you sharing such a heartfelt reflection. It means a great deal to know you felt supported through her care and aftercare, and that compassion and gentleness surrounded both Lucy and your family during such a difficult season. Thank you for trusting our team and for your recommendation.
Experiencia fantástica: We took our cat in respiratory distress to MedVet Dallas on the recommendation of another local emergency vet. It was Sunday night between Christmas and New Years. They processed her into their system and made her comfortable until she could be thoroughly evaluated on Monday. Dr. Graves was very gracious in answering my questions Monday morning as he gave me his diagnosis and prognosis for her condition. Sadly, she had mammary gland cancer which was exasperating her respiratory issues. The compassionate decision was to euthanize her so she didn't suffer a worse respiratory or cancer death. We had a very positive experience starting with our Sunday night intake person, Gray Lang. We also spoke with two vets, I'm sorry I don't remember their names. Afterwards, Gray gave us a quick tour of the facility and showed us where Marya would be cared for that night. It gave us much comfort to see that she would be loved for the night. Monday night as we arrived to say our goodbyes, both Hailey and Dr. Graves met with us in the examination room. They gave us time to love on Marya before starting the euthanasia process. They even stayed with us talking about her after she'd passed. Then Hailey showed us a back exit so other pet parents wouldn't see our sorrow. I'm in tears as I write this. FIRST CLASS FACILITY - thank you for caring for our baby in her last hours!
We are so honored that you entrusted Marya to our team during such a tender time. Your words about the love, dignity, and compassion shown to her in her final hours mean more than we can express. From making her comfortable to giving you space to say goodbye, our hearts were with Marya and with you every step of the way. Thank you for allowing us to care for your precious girl and for sharing her story—she was deeply loved, and we were privileged to be there for her and for your family.
Experiencia fantástica: Where to start… After multiple missed diagnosis’s , heartbreak and desperation … research led me to MedVet in Dallas. The entire team is compassionate, the doctors are brilliant, all of my dogs presenting symptoms were not what they seemed. The level of care that was administered over the days my baby was there is unbelievable. Our lives are changing with our new diagnosis and prognosis. But now we have answers and answers that only could come to fruition with the due diligence of the team at MedVet. We are eternally grateful for the neurology team to take a deeper dive and ask questions. We owe you a debt of gratitude for life. Thank you for giving us our baby back and continuing the healing journey with us. Sincerely - Ren, Karl & Mini Mae Pearl H.
Rendee, thank you for sharing such a meaningful story. We’re honored to have been part of your beloved dog’s journey and grateful that our neurology team could help uncover answers and provide clarity. Wishing you and your family continued healing ahead.
Experiencia fantástica: We have used MedVet Dallas twice for our dogs, and they are an excellent emergency vet clinic. Responsive, calming and very professional. In the latest visit, we were updated regularly regarding our dog’s health status and recovery, and they provided explicit written and in-person post-op and recovery instructions.
Joni, thank you for such kind words. We’re so glad our team could provide clear communication, regular updates, and attentive care during a stressful emergency. It means a great deal that you felt supported throughout your dog’s recovery.
Experiencia fantástica: I could not be happier with the care and professionalism from everyone involved. Visiting the vet under emergency conditions is never fun, but the entire staff was on point the entire time. They consistently check-in and gave Ranger the best care from exam to surgery. I have already told several others how impressed I was with the service and care.
Weston, thank you so much for taking the time to share this thoughtful review. We know how stressful it is to need emergency care, and we’re truly grateful you trusted our team with sweet Ranger during such an important moment. It means a great deal to hear that you felt supported, kept informed, and confident in the care he received from exam through surgery. Knowing Ranger received the attention and dedication he needed—and that you felt comfortable recommending us to others—is incredibly meaningful to our doctors and team members. We hope Ranger continues to do well and are always here for you if you ever need us again.
Experiencia fantástica: Best animal hospital in Dallas. The staff is so kind, thorough and informative. I will always make the extra drive to come here. Our two dogs have been taken care of wonderfully, especially in cases of emergency.
Lorraine, thank you for your incredibly kind words and for making the extra drive to see our team. It truly means so much to know your dogs have felt well cared for during emergencies, and we’re honored to be a place you trust when it matters most.
Experiencia fantástica: 12.26.25..I called here while on my way to another hospital and Im glad I did. My 14yr old Zoe was losing her battle with CHF and I needed end od life care for her. I brought her in and they took her to the back immediately. They even came out to assist me with my 6month old goldendoodles. I really didnt get the individuals name but I think they said it was Theo? Anywho, thank you for being informative, patient, understanding and kind.
Ladie, thank you so much for sharing this and for trusting our team during such a tender and emotional moment. We’re honored to have been there for sweet Zoe and for you when she needed comfort and gentle support. Saying goodbye to a beloved companion after a long battle with CHF is incredibly difficult, and we’re glad our team could provide patience, understanding, and clear guidance when you needed it most. Please know our thoughts are with you as you remember Zoe and the love you shared with her.
Experiencia negativa: Extremely disappointed with MedVet’s handling of a simple, humane request on Christmas Day. My dog had an upset stomach and was vomiting bile — something she is prone to if she goes too long without eating. No grocery stores or pet stores were open due to the holiday. I called MedVet hoping to purchase one or two cans of GI wet dog food to get her eating again and stabilize her stomach. Despite my dog being an established patient with them and despite the situation being very straightforward, they refused to sell me the food unless I brought my dog in to be seen — at significant expense, of course. This was not an emergency visit request, nor was I asking for medication or treatment, just basic, limited ingredient wet food that would have very likely resolved the issue. A can or two of GI food would have gotten her back into her normal eating routine and prevented further distress. Instead, MedVet chose to gatekeep something so basic in what felt like a transparent attempt to force an unnecessary visit and maximize billable services rather than act in the best interest of the animal. On a holiday, when owners have limited options and pets are vulnerable, this was especially disappointing and frankly heartless. Veterinary care should be about supporting animals and their families — not exploiting circumstances. This experience seriously undermined my trust in MedVet.
Alex, we understand how stressful it is to worry about your dog’s comfort—especially on a holiday when options are limited—and we’re sorry this situation left you feeling disappointed. When a dog is vomiting, even if it has happened before, our team has to consider that symptoms can sometimes indicate a change in condition that isn’t immediately apparent without an exam. For that reason, therapeutic and prescription diets are dispensed only within the context of an active doctor-patient relationship and when a doctor has confirmed that the food is appropriate and safe at that moment.
This policy is not intended to create barriers or force unnecessary visits, but rather to ensure we are acting in the best medical interest of the patient and not overlooking a potentially more serious concern. Our responsibility to our patients is to avoid making assumptions about a pet’s condition without proper assessment. We understand how frustrating that can feel when you’re simply trying to help your dog feel better, and we regret that this interaction impacted your trust.
We appreciate you sharing your perspective and hope your dog is now feeling more comfortable. If you would like to discuss this further or have questions about our policies, we encourage you to call and ask to speak with a member of our leadership team.
Experiencia fantástica: Called on Christmas morning at 6am and the receptionist was so kind and so helpful in helping us to make the determination of whether or not our situation was an emergency. I really appreciated her assistance.
Haley, thank you for calling and trusting our team on Christmas morning. We’re glad our receptionist could help you navigate that decision with kindness and clarity, especially during such a stressful moment.
Experiencia negativa: After the reading the reviews I consider myself lucky that I walked out of that place after making me and my dog wait over 2 HOURS. I understand that more urgent cases take priority but when I got there there was only ONE other person waiting before me. My dog had a condition that according to their “priority chart” should be 2nd in line. I called them from the exam room asking if we would get seen soon, especially because at this point my dog was starting to get very overwhelmed. The lady on the phone said “oh the vet will be in there shortly to give the plan of care.” Plan of care? My dog hadn’t even been seen by the vet yet. I knew right there and then it was time to go. I’m so glad I found some where else to take my dog.
Ilse, we understand how stressful it is to wait when your dog is already overwhelmed and you’re worried about their condition. Emergency visits are emotionally taxing, and clear communication and expectations matter greatly in those moments. While our waiting areas may appear quiet, our team is often actively caring for patients behind the scenes whose conditions require immediate attention, and triage priority can shift quickly as new or more critical emergencies arrive or develop in our critical patients.
Our team’s goal is always to assess each patient as promptly and thoughtfully as possible and to communicate next steps clearly once a doctor has evaluated the patient or is preparing to do so. We regret if the communication you received felt confusing or added to your frustration, as that is never our intention. We stand behind the dedication and professionalism of our team, who work hard to balance urgency, compassion, and patient safety during very busy emergency periods.
We appreciate you sharing your perspective and hope your dog received the care they needed and is now feeling more comfortable. If you ever wish to discuss your experience further, we would welcome the opportunity to listen and provide clarity through a conversation with a member of our leadership team.
Experiencia fantástica: Or little peke had a ruptured disc and needed surgery at the Dallas location. Everyone, and I mean everyone was fantastic. They all showed concern and we knew she was in good hands. They've been really good at answering our questions and concerns.
Eric, thank you for sharing your experience. A ruptured disc is such a frightening diagnosis, and we’re glad your precious little Peke was surrounded by a team that showed genuine concern and took the time to answer your questions along the way. Knowing she was in good hands makes all the difference, and we’re grateful you trusted us with her care.
Experiencia fantástica: 5 stars isn’t enough for my experience at MedVet. Dr Graves saved my kitty Leo’s life. Another vet at Animal Diagnostics misdiagnosed him as having a problem with food allergies, turned out he has fungal pneumonia. Dr. Graves was the one that Found it, diagnosed him and put him on medication. He is on the mend now and I will be forever grateful for Dr. Graves and MedVet. I was told that he would’ve been dead within a week if I had not brought him in to see Dr Graves when I did.
Connie, thank you for sharing your experience and for trusting our team during such a critical time. We’re so glad your kitty is improving and that the right diagnosis and treatment were found when he needed it most.
Experiencia fantástica: We took our little pup in to the ER, and she was not even able to stand up. MedVet got her in and was able to find the problem asap. They have an awesome staff and doctor. You can really tell they love what they do. We are so glad we took our little pup there.
Sharon, thank you for sharing this. We’re so glad our team could act quickly, identify the issue, and support your pup when she needed urgent care. It means a great deal to know you felt our team’s dedication and compassion.
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent care! We waited to see the veterinarian about 30 minutes but it was well worth the wait! She was professional, knowledgeable, and fabulous in every way pertaining to getting my 6 yr old Cavapoo diagnosed,, treated and referred to the appropriate specialist. I highly recommend MedVet-Dallas.
Donna, thank you for the thoughtful review. We’re glad the visit felt worth the wait and that our team could provide clear guidance, diagnosis, and a smooth path to specialty care for your cherished Cavapoo. We truly appreciate your recommendation and trust in us.
Experiencia fantástica: Our dog ruptured a disk in his back on a Saturday night and we were referred to medvet since they have a neurologist on staff. Everyone we interacted with was helpful, calm, and knowledgeable. It was as smooth a visit as we could have hoped for, and our dog is on the mend thanks to their guidance.
Mia, thank you for sharing this. We’re glad our team could provide calm, knowledgeable guidance and specialty neurological support when your dog needed it most, and we’re so happy to hear he’s on the mend.
Experiencia fantástica: We’ve been coming here since fall of 2023 due to my doggie having seizures. The neurologist we had the first time was the one who diagnosed him and she ended up moving. But the doctor we have now is wonderful too ! Actually the entire staff is amazing. Especially the neurology department. Thank you for taking care of my baby. If it wasn’t for you guys we would’ve been without him . Now he can look forward to being ten years old next year!!
Jess, thank you for sharing this beautiful update. We’re so glad your sweet boy is doing well and that our neurology team has been able to support him through his seizures. It means so much that you’ve trusted us with his care over the years. Please give him an extra cuddle from us as he looks forward to turning ten!
Experiencia fantástica: MedVet was simply amazing! They took great care of my Yorkie and thoroughly explained everything that was going on. If I ever need after hours vet care again, I’m coming straight here.
Thank you, Marcus. We’re delighted to hear your Yorkie received such thorough and compassionate care. Our team loved helping your little one feel better, and we appreciate you trusting us during an emergency.
Experiencia negativa: I don't want to go overboard with a bad review, because the actual care my cat received was good...eventually. And they keep repeating that they're an emergency clinic and so there are wait times. But my cat had been bleeding for 6 hours and the bleeding had not stopped. It still took an hour, maybe two, to finally meet with the doctor. She could have bled out in that time! They said her vitals were okay, though I'm wondering how her blood pressure could be all right when she lost surely four to six tablespoons of blood. The room where she cut herself looked like a crime scene! Fortunately, they said it was just her paw bleeding, though I kept finding blood that looked like it was coming from elsewhere. The actual care was excellent, but the policies and procedures and communication are pretty lacking. I did a total of *three* intakes. Why is that necessary? If active bleeding is considered priority one, why was I there for nearly 3 hours? There did not appear to be a long line, and putting in a stitch doesn't sound like something that would take more than 5 minutes. Why was I asked what is your budget? Are you going to charge me as much as I can afford? Because the quote was $1,000 for sedation and a quick stitch. Then she said she could use skin glue, but sounded dubious, before suggesting she just administer an opioid and do the stitch, which she finally did. I had to ask for reports five times in that 3 hours because I wasn't even assured that she was okay, hadn't experienced severe blood loss and was going to make it. They even said the bleeding had stopped, and the stitch was just to keep it from starting again. Then the doctor put a cone on her, which she fought viciously to remove, and I was afraid it was going to rip her stitch out so I took her out of it, whereupon she immediately calmed down. The vet wanted me to give her Gabapentin to keep her calm so she wouldn't take the cone off. I just put her in a soft cone when I got her home and she was fine. Turned out she didn't need it, or any pain meds, as she was trying to sharpen her claws less than 18 hours later. She wouldn't be doing that if she had any pain. I was reluctant to give her pain meds because I didn't feel she would need them. I turned out to be right, though you hate to overrule the doctor. But she said they wouldn't cost much. I said how much, and she said $16. When I got home I saw the bill was $38. And I paid for a cone that didn't work. I came back in to ask them to adjust my bill. They said they would call me. I left the cone but they said they couldn't accept medications back once they were dispensed. They said that they'd call me. They again refused to refund either of these items, but I pressed that I was quoted one thing and charged another. They said out of "goodwill" they would refund me the difference, but I'm out for the meds and cone that she didn't need, and I don't feel like I should have to rely on goodwill for them to refund what they overcharged versus their quote. I'm not really thrilled with my experience there. Why did they quote me $1,000 when they had a $275 fix that was perfectly fine?? Unless your animal is actively dying, go to Dallas Animal Urgent Care instead. They could have done all the same things for half the price. And I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes there, and they're open till 10:00 p.m. every day. And and especially given some of these reviews and my experience, I'd be hesitant to come back even in an emergency given the wait times, the high quotes and missed diagnoses. I would have given a one or two star review, other than that everything turned out all right in the end. It might not have though.
Sandy, thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed account of your visit. We’re relieved to hear your cat ultimately did well, and we understand how stressful it must have been to navigate active bleeding, wait times, and the uncertainty of not knowing exactly what was happening during her care.
Our team’s goal is always to prioritize each patient’s safety while keeping families informed at every step, including reviewing treatment options and the related estimates so you can choose what feels right for your situation. In emergency medicine, patients are triaged based on their vital signs and overall stability, and intake updates or additional questions may be needed as conditions evolve. We also understand how important clear communication is while you’re waiting, and we’re sorry that the experience felt disjointed and left you unsure about next steps or what to expect. Your concerns about communication, estimates, and follow-up after your visit are all helpful for us to hear, and we would appreciate the opportunity to look into them more closely.
We’re grateful your cat recovered well, and we appreciate you sharing your perspective so we can continue to strengthen the experience for the pets and families who rely on us. If you'd like to talk further, please feel welcome to call and ask to speak with a member of our leadership team, or email [email protected] so we can follow up with you directly.
Experiencia fantástica: MedVet saved my cat's life after he swallowed a sewing needle! Staff was personable and friendly during a very hard time, and vet Dr. Encarnacion was amazing. Great emergency hospital.
Thank you, Jennifer. We’re so glad your cat is doing well after such a frightening situation. Swallowing a foreign object can be very serious, and we appreciate you trusting our team to provide emergency care when you needed it most.
Experiencia negativa: I used to love this ER I always had great experiences there and then in October I brought my dog in for an emergency. They let my dog suffer for hours and my dog ultimately passed away afraid and in pain by herself. They admitted all of this to me on the phone. I was promised a phone call over a month ago from Dr. Davis supplying me with the findings of their investigation into why the team on staff that day failed my dog. No one has called me and I have tried to get ahold of her multiple times to get a callback. I feel bad for doing this but I feel like I've been left no choice. If you have to bring your pet here; hover and don't feel bad for it. Clearly not all of their staff is going above and beyond.
We are so deeply sorry for the loss of your beloved companion. Losing a pet in an emergency situation is heartbreaking, and our team truly understands how painful this has been for you. Your dog mattered to us.
Emergency care often involves multiple doctors and technicians working quickly to support the most critical patients, and we take every concern about communication or follow-up very seriously. We never want a pet parent to feel unheard, and it sounds like there may have been a miscommunication in connecting you with the appropriate doctor.
Because your experience involves details specific to your visit, we encourage you to call and ask to speak with a member of our leadership team. We want to make sure you have the opportunity to discuss your concerns directly with someone who can support you.
Thank you for sharing your dog’s story with us. Our thoughts are with you as you grieve.
Experiencia fantástica: Honestly hands down the best vet hospital I’ve ever gone to. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. When I called to get an update on my dog at anytime they were so nice of letting me now how he’s doing. The surgeon was AMAZING. I would highly recommend this place!!
Bryan, thank you for sharing such kind words. We’re grateful to know our team’s friendliness, communication, and attentive care helped you feel supported while your dog was with us. We appreciate your recommendation and your trust.
Experiencia negativa: I truly wish I had never come to MedVet. Please read the bad reviews and trust your instinct not to come here. My dog broke her femur over 2 years ago. At the time, I had no idea what to do or where she needed to go. I previously read the bad reviews, but thought I had no other option at the time. Today, I am out over $12,000 on two surgeries at MedVet and my dog still does not use her leg with major nerve damage. If you are like me and have no idea where to take your animal, I recommend Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center.
Amber, we’re truly sorry to hear how difficult this journey has been for you and your dog, and we understand how discouraging it is when a beloved companion continues to struggle after surgery.
Because every orthopedic injury is unique, outcomes can vary depending on the severity of the fracture, healing progression, and how the affected limb responds over time. Our doctors work closely with families to create treatment plans based on what is medically appropriate for each patient, and we never want anyone to feel alone or uncertain throughout that process. We would appreciate the opportunity to review your dog’s history, answer any questions you have, and support you in any way we can.
If you’re willing, please call and ask to speak with a member of our leadership team or email [email protected] with your dog’s name and your contact information so we can follow up directly. We truly wish the very best for your dog’s recovery and comfort moving forward.
Experiencia negativa: We recently had a very upsetting experience at this clinic that makes me question their communication and reliability, especially for urgent specialty cases. Our local vet performed a neurological exam on our dog and told us he needed to be seen by a neurology specialist that same day. They called ahead to this clinic, and we were told multiple times over the phone that we had a late-afternoon appointment with neurology. Based on that, my husband and I drove six hours one way with our dog, who was in pain, trusting that he would be seen by a specialist when we arrived. On the way, I completed all the requested forms (both the regular patient form and ER intake) and called to confirm we were en route. Shortly after that, the clinic called again to confirm that we were still coming and verified our ETA, which matched the time they told us our appointment was scheduled. When we finally arrived, exhausted and worried, we were told that we never actually had an appointment with neurology and that the earliest our dog could be seen by the specialist would be several days later. This directly contradicted everything we were told in previous calls and what our referring vet understood. Had we been given accurate information, we never would have put our dog through a 12-hour round trip in pain. This kind of miscommunication isn’t just inconvenient—it’s cruel to families already under stress and to the animals they’re trying to help. It shows a serious breakdown in coordination between the front desk, specialty departments, and referring veterinarians. For an emergency/specialty clinic, clear and accurate communication should be a basic standard, especially when owners are traveling long distances and making decisions based on what they are told over the phone. I hope the clinic reviews how they handle referrals and “appointments,” because no one else should have to go through this after being assured their pet would be seen.
Sarah, we’re truly sorry for the stress you and your dog experienced. Traveling such a long distance with a pet who isn’t feeling well is incredibly difficult, and we understand how upsetting it must have been to arrive expecting one plan and learn that specialty availability was different than anticipated.
To help families make the best decisions for their pets, our team works to clearly explain whether a doctor is available for a same-day specialty consultation or whether a visit will begin with emergency care. We’d like to review what occurred here, including the communication leading up to your arrival, so we can support you and ensure clarity moving forward.
We’re grateful you shared this with us, and we would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly. Please call and ask to speak with a member of our leadership team, or email [email protected] with your contact information so we can connect. Your pet’s wellbeing is our priority, and we want to ensure you feel fully supported.
Experiencia negativa: My 19 year old cat had basically been on "hospice" with kidney failure, a heart murmur and a mass on her spleen. She was plugging along before we came back into town early from the Thanksgiving holiday to be home with her. She had stopped eating for a few days and then had a seizure on Friday night, so we knew it was time to put her down and end her suffering. We didn't want her to have another seizure and decided to take her to Medvet, since our regular vet was closed over the weekend. The clinic seemed to be well organized and they did put us in a private room right away so she didn't have to deal with any dogs who may come in. Although the waiting room was empty upon arrival, we waited 1 hour & 15 minutes for the vet to come into the room. They initially told me they would take our cat to the back to put in the I.V. and then return with her. I told them I wanted to be with her the whole time in order to give her comfort. I soon realized why they don't want you seeing them inserting the IV! For some reason, it was the assistant rather than the vet that was inserting it, while the vet was just holding her paw during the procedure. This assistant was totally incompetent! She kept poking and re-poking her in order to find the vein, basically digging around under her skin with the needle over & over again. I previously had my cat totally calm and wanted a peaceful ending for her. Rather, my very docile and tolerant cat, who never gave our regular vet any trouble, was hissing and crying in pain for like 5 minutes while she kept getting poked over & over again. It was horrible and traumatic for both of us! I now feel terribly guilty that she went through that agony at the end of her life, which was supposed to be easy & peaceful. It is literally keeping me up at night. Why would the vet, who is supposed to be the professional and supposedly know what she's doing, not be the one to put in the IV? I gave 2 stars rather than 1 because they do seem to be organized. However, I had a horrible experience at Medvet and I do not recommend it.
Ilise, we are deeply sorry for the loss of your beloved companion and for how difficult this experience has been for you. Saying goodbye is one of the most painful moments a family faces, and our hearts go out to you during this time.
We understand how important it is for a peaceful passing, and we’re saddened to know you left feeling distressed. While we can’t discuss specifics of your visit here, we do want to reassure you that our team is made up of highly trained veterinary professionals who are skilled in caring for senior and medically fragile patients, including during end-of-life procedures. Insertion of intravenous access is a standard part of the process and may be performed by different members of the medical team depending on their role and training, but it is always done with the patient’s comfort and dignity as the highest priority. We are sorry if the experience felt anything less than compassionate in such a sacred moment.
We appreciate you sharing these concerns so we can look into them, as we hold our team to very high standards for communication, comfort, and support during euthanasia appointments. If you feel up to it, we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly so we can better understand your experience and offer support. Please feel free to call and ask to speak with a member of our leadership team.
Our thoughts are with you as you grieve and remember your cherished companion.
Experiencia fantástica: I was very impressed with the kindness of the staff and the thoroughness of the vet when my dog had a sudden seizure. They checked with me before any tests were run. They also were reasonably priced for an emergency vet. I know that probably depends on what services we required, which was blood work. I was also extremely pleased with the time the vet took to explain options and follow up care.
Thank you, Robin. We’re grateful you trusted us when your dog experienced a sudden seizure. Our team works hard to ensure families are informed and comfortable before any diagnostics are performed, so it means a great deal that you felt that care and transparency throughout your visit. We’re wishing your beloved companion continued healing.
Experiencia fantástica: They truly saved our dogs life. Everyone from front desk, to intake, to overnight nurse techs all were very caring and hospitable. Our dog was in the ICU for a week and she is only alive today due to all the hard work Medvet gave. Special shout out to Doctor Keane and Doctor O’Connor. Also, Jennifer at front desk was incredible no matter what day or time we called or showed up for a visit.
Kevin, thank you for sharing this. We’re so grateful your dog is doing well after such a frightening experience. Our team cares deeply for every patient in our hospital, and it means a lot to know you felt supported by everyone who helped throughout her week of hospitalization. We appreciate your kind words and the trust you placed in us during such a difficult time.
Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely exceptional work! After not knowing what was wrong with my dog for two years, we finally got some answers. Now that we know what’s wrong with her, I know how to help her and I know how to make her live a better life❤️
Megan, thank you for taking the time to share this. We’re so glad you finally have answers and a clear path forward to help your dog feel better. It’s wonderful to hear that she is now able to enjoy a healthier, happier life. We’re grateful you trusted our team with her care.
Experiencia fantástica: Loved 24×7. Receptionists were great. Tech prompt to take 11# dog shaking, unable to walk back for vitals. Came out to ask if I wanted poison scan, yes!! After 3 hrs wait, saw Dr. who said dog now acting normal, able to walk. Took dog home.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad our team was able to help your dog feel better and that you felt supported throughout your visit. We appreciate you trusting us with their care.
Experiencia fantástica: they were incredible. They found my sweet boys heart problem and were comforting and helpful during the entire process of having to say goodbye. I couldn’t have asked for a better way for my boy to go. He went peacefully in my lap with the help of their veterinary technicians. Thank you all very much for your kindness patience and empathy. ❤️
Arianna, we’re so sorry for the loss of your sweet boy. It means a lot to know our team’s compassion made a difference in such a painful moment. We’re holding your family in our thoughts.
Experiencia fantástica: We had occasion to use med vet, emergency services when one of our kitties became ill. We were treated with the utmost professionalism, kindness, and compassion. Can’t say enough good about Dr. Ashman and her team.
Jean, thank you for sharing such a kind review. We’re grateful to know you and your kitty felt supported with professionalism, kindness, and compassion during your emergency visit. Our team strives to guide families clearly and gently through stressful moments, and we appreciate you trusting us with your companion’s care.
Experiencia fantástica: Thank you MedVet team for taking care of our boy Oscar. At this time, he's still in the hospital being taking care of. Thank you from Jim & Emilia "Oscar's dad & mom
Jim, thank you for your kind words. We’re glad to know Oscar is being cared for and supported by our team, and we’re keeping him in our thoughts as he continues to recover. Thank you for trusting us with your boy.
Experiencia fantástica: Probably my most morbid review, but now that I have cried my tears I just wanted to thank the staff at MedVet for being very accommodating to me and my husband when we brought in our senior black cat Pooky. Pooky had been treated for lymphoma by another vet, but the vet is closed on weekends and it was a Saturday. After describing the symptoms to the staff on the phone, I was recommended to take Pooky to MedVet in Dallas. The ER took Pooky in immediately, and the front desk staff took down my info. Staff could see I was a bit hysterical, so when I showed them Pooky’s medication, they used the medication label to take down my info and confirmed with me that the info was accurate before submitting. While waiting, we were put into a private consultation room. They had tissues ready in abundance, a couch, and a supportive staff member came in for emotional support. I feel so bad, I don’t remember her name given the situation. But her kindness was the reason I wanted to leave this 5 star review. The vets were also extremely supportive and informal along the way. Pooky, unfortunately, was already in the state of her body and organs shutting down, and they did inform me she was in pain and while she was still breathing it was likely, cognitively, she wasn’t in there anymore. They did inform me the euthanasia option was a painless process, and my husband and I made the difficult decision to allow the vets to put her to sleep so she wouldn’t be in pain anymore. They allowed us to be in the room with her while they administered the injections through IV, they advised what could happen during the injection so we were mentally prepared, and we were allowed to speak to Pooky one last time before saying goodbye. After the injection was administered through Pooky’s IV, the vet listened to her heartbeat and confirmed she as gone. Afterwards, they let us stay with her just a little longer for emotional reasons, and once we were ready the staff took us back to the private room to discuss options regarding her body. My husband and I are both from small towns, so we went with the option to take the body home so we can bury her at the place she was loved. Our home. The staff has a back exit from the hospital, so we didn’t have to walk through the waiting area in public with our cardboard kitty coffin. As far as money goes, my husband and I both agreed the charges were fair priced, and the vets showed us how much we’d be charged in advance. They accept cards and cash. As far as quality, this ER vet is top notch in quality staff members, quality available amenities, and despite many animals coming and going, the cleanliness of the hospital was spotless. Even the restrooms which I did use a couple of times during our visit were clean and had plenty of paper towels and soap. I believe they had free water and coffee, and I spotted vending machines in the waiting room. Thank you helping my baby Pooky.
Navi, thank you for sharing such a heartfelt and detailed review. We are truly sorry for the loss of your beloved Pooky, and we’re honored to have helped you say goodbye with peace and compassion. Our team strives to make difficult moments a little easier, and we’re grateful we could be there for you and your husband during this time.
Experiencia positiva: Super friendly staff. Came in on a day that they weren’t so busy and they had me and my pup in and out in 30 minutes!
Kennedie, thank you for sharing this. We’re glad to hear you and your pup had such a smooth visit and felt welcomed by our team. We appreciate you trusting us with your companion’s care.
Experiencia fantástica: My almost 19 year old cat had a seizure. It was the first (and I hope the last) and I wanted to get him checked out. While they weren’t able to pinpoint a cause, they said he was in overall good shape for a cat his age.
Thank you, Anne, for trusting us with your beloved cat’s care. We understand how unsettling it can be to witness a seizure, especially for a senior pet, and we’re glad you came in to have him evaluated. It’s encouraging to hear that he’s in good shape overall, and we hope he continues to do well. We’re here if you ever need us again.
Experiencia negativa: They exploit your love for your pet by weaponizing fear. Elizabeth De la Torre was openly hostile and judgmental, and the way she framed our options was deeply manipulative; either pay an exorbitant amount or put our pet down. That kind of pressure is predatory and completely unrealistic; no caring owner would ever willingly choose euthanasia. Dr. De la Torre spoke as if our cat was on the brink of death at that very moment. We ultimately came up with a third option: to leave. When we did, Dr. De la Torre demanded we sign an AMA (Against Medical Advice) in a condemning, condescending tone. We then went to another veterinarian for a second opinion. It turned out our cat was not on the verge of death, nor did he require a financially devastating procedure to recover. It has now been nearly a year since our visit to MedVet Dallas, and he is still alive and thriving. MedVet Dallas’s only priority is maximizing profit by preying on desperate, loving pet owners. They could care less about your pet. Your pet is just the vehicle through which they can scam you.
Austin, we’re disheartened to read your review and the perception you’ve shared about our team. Our doctors and care teams dedicate their lives to helping pets and the families who love them, and it’s painful to hear that our intentions were interpreted in such a negative light.
While we cannot speak to the details of your cat’s medical history in this setting, we can assure you that all recommendations provided by our team are based on a patient’s specific symptoms, exam findings, and potential outcomes—never with financial motivation in mind. Many of our patients present in critical condition and require urgent care to avoid life-threatening progression. We believe in being transparent about the full spectrum of possible care needed, especially when hospitalization, diagnostics, or surgery may be necessary. Our goal is always to equip pet owners with the information they need to make the best decision for their pet, including the option to decline care or seek a second opinion.
We’re also sorry to hear that your interaction with our doctor left you feeling judged. That is never our intent. We support shared decision-making and strive to ensure that clients feel informed and empowered—even in highly emotional situations.
If you'd like to discuss your experience further, we welcome you to call and ask to speak with a member of our leadership team or email us at [email protected]. We’re grateful your cat is doing well and hope you never have to face another emergency, but we are here if you ever need us.
Experiencia fantástica: The staff was so friendly and helpful. They were calling his name from arrival till he left the building. Took care of Louie so good and gave so many helpful tips for caring for him. I would strongly urge everyone to attend this place for ur fur baby! Great team!!
Thank you, Alejandra, for the enthusiastic review! We’re thrilled to hear how well Louie was cared for and that you felt supported throughout his visit. Our team loves making pets feel safe and loved, and we’re so glad we could help. Thank you for recommending us!
Experiencia fantástica: Really appreciative of the whole staff for helping us through a scary moment and taking care of our old boy! We had an emergency and had to rush in, they took him in within 5 minutes and kept us updated the whole time we waited. Thank you!
Juli, we appreciate you sharing your experience. We're so glad we could be there quickly for your faithful boy and that you felt supported and informed throughout his care. It means a lot that you trusted us during such a stressful time.
Experiencia fantástica: The staff here are excellent. I brought my cat in because I suspected he had swallowed a plastic thing and the staff were really good at making me calm down and at giving my cat plenty of space and time to calm down before having to invade his space. They were really empathetic towards both of us and took their time to explain everything about what they were doing, what they were hoping to see, how long that could take, and what to watch for after taking him home. Your pets (and you) are in excellent hands
David, thank you for your thoughtful review. We’re glad our team helped ease your concerns and made both you and your cat feel comfortable and informed. We’re honored you trusted us during this emergency.
Experiencia fantástica: Bringing my dog in for an emergency was very overwhelming. But all of the staff there were super friendly, very kind & professional. They were always able to answer and questions that I had and any hour of the day. And they called or texted me to give me updates throughout the day. The DR called me before my dog went under surgery to explain what the will be expected to do. And called me after with the full details of what they were able to do. I have felt so relieved with all the communication they had with me and made this whole experience less stressful.
Experiencia fantástica: Grateful we have a place like this open 24/7. Top tier system and communication when dealing with the most stressful situations. Worth the drive, worth the price. Staff is incredible.
Thank you, Sarah. We're so grateful for your kind words and truly honored to be a trusted resource for you and your beloved pet. It means a lot to know that our 24/7 care and communication made a difference during such a stressful time.
Experiencia fantástica: I’m happy I did NOT read the reviews before rushing my girl to this hospital! She was knocking on death’s door by the time I took her to MedVet and they saved her life! She had been eating little to nothing for 7 weeks due to traumatic first (and last) experience at the groomers, immediately followed by moving to a new home. She was diagnosed with pancreatitis and fatty liver disease. From the first phone call, interacting with receptionists at the front desk, emails, vet techs, vet doctors—a spectacular experience. They called and texted with updates at least twice a day, when I would request lab results they would email immediately. Everyone I interacted with was extremely caring, patient, kind, and laidback. And most importantly, they saved my girl!!!! She required a feeding tube after 1 week hospital stay and they taught me how to use it to administer food and medicine. After 1 week the tube came out and I stopped all medicines (they recommended continuing some of her medicines but I felt she was ready to get off them completely so I took the risk) and she’s been eating on her own and on the road to recovery! Filled with immense gratitude for everyone at MedVet. I never had to wait long when checking in! Super seamless convenient process… including processing very high charges ;) can’t say enough great things about MedVet Dallas. Hope I never have to go back but if I do, going here!
Thank you, Claudia. We’re so grateful to know your girl is recovering well and that you felt cared for and supported throughout her stay. Our team is dedicated to communicating clearly and providing attentive, compassionate care every step of the way. Your heartfelt message means so much—thank you for sharing it and for trusting us with her recovery.
Experiencia negativa: The staff up front are nice, but speak to you like robots as i'm sure that's the way they are told to do. i took my pet there a few years ago and he was under their care all this time. I spent over $30,000.00 for this and in return what i get is if i call them to ask a simple question all i get is their to busy to call you back. and all Dr. Rogers does is talk down to you and act like she's all that when you see her. Please don't tell me to call a number to talk to someone about this, talk about it here so everyone can see what you have to say. I'm sure your to busy to do that! Just as i thought, you use a stock answer . enough said.
Glenn, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand how important your pet’s care is to you, and we’re grateful that you entrusted our team over the past several years.
Our doctors and client care team are dedicated to providing respectful, compassionate, and informed communication. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not align with those values. While we can’t discuss specific medical or client details publicly, we are confident in the expertise and professionalism of our team and the care provided.
If you would like to continue this conversation directly with our leadership team, we invite you to email [email protected]. We welcome respectful dialogue and will ensure your message is shared with the appropriate individuals.
Experiencia fantástica: First off let me state that I appreciate all of the staff Congo and I interacted with. I have never had any issues with my pup and Congo is 5-6 year old Staffordshire rescue that was pretty much about to be put down until I came along. Recently some time around 10/21-10/23 he was bitten by what I suspect was probably a Copperhead which I DID NOT EVEN CONSIDER until I brought him to MedVet. Thanks to a thorough exam we ruled out what I originally thought was the problem. He was breaking out in hives severely and was having some low energy and on the night on 10/23 I noticed what I thought might have been a reaction to insect an insect bite was actually not that at all. I mean from how quick they answered the call and how quick they offered options and the sympathy I was provided over the phone was the reason I chose them for my emergency visit. We live in the Lake Highland are where wildlife is almost unavoidable especially on long walks. The triage was smooth even with Congo being rambunctious and on high alert they were very friendly towards him and catered to him with the upmost compassion. I won’t lie we were there 4-5 hrs but after seeing the care they gave Congo I understood why. Every pet that walks through there gets the same amount of care so please be patient. I would rather do this 100 times than to go one day without my Congo. As far as pricing they were very direct with how much to expect to pay they will navigate with what you request and give their recommendations. Times are hard for allot of people so I get sometimes these expenses can be very discouraging I racked in a $700 bill but it was thorough blood work I could of denied some of the treatments if I didn’t want them so make sure to voice what you want before they do it when they come in the room. Again to me my pup is my life and it could of been 7000 and I still would of paid luckily I brought him in on time and as I write this Congo is in his kennel resting he’s been getting better there’s less swelling no more hives and he’s getting better by the hour. We got an accurate diagnosis and believed it was a snake that hit him and the meds recommended by the staff are clearly doing their job. Ask for clarity if you don’t know this staff is beyond patient and I’m sure this will help the person seeking emergency care. Thank you MedVet for saving my dogs life I was happy to return the favor to Congo for having saved mines and I appreciate you guys for giving me the opportunity to rerun that favor for my pup.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re so glad our team could care for Congo with the compassion and attention he deserved. It’s wonderful to hear he’s resting comfortably and improving. Your patience and understanding during a busy ER night mean a lot, and we’re honored you chose us to help your best friend when he needed it most.
Experiencia fantástica: I took my Zonny to MedVet when he was having heart failure due to thickening of the heart. MedVet doctors were wonderful and got him from heart failure down to heart disease, something I didn’t think possible. My baby is now home. I don’t know for how long because he is very ill, but I thank the doctors and nurses for doing everything they could to give him the best possible care.
Lisa, thank you for sharing Zonny’s story. We’re so glad our team could provide care that brought him comfort and more time with you. We know how deeply loved he is and are keeping you both in our thoughts.
Experiencia fantástica: The main thing is y’all take took good care of my little girl, but y’all are so awesome. Had wonderful doctors and sent my baby home to me. That’s all that matters and I would bring her again to All , y’all are so good with animals and pets and I thank you so much for taking care of Nikki. Not only the doctors but the nurses the whole front desk staff y’all are so wonderful and thanks again to everyone of you that took care of my baby. Thank you so much.
Carolyn, your words mean so much to our team. We’re thrilled to hear that Nikki is back home and doing well. It’s our privilege to care for beloved companions like her, and we’re grateful you trusted our team during such an important time.
Experiencia negativa: I would try to avoid this place if at all possible. We brought our cat there for severe pancreatitis and for 2 days there was pretty much no update given to us on her condition at all. When we asked for an update, we had to wait hours and hours for them to enter data into their system and have it read to us not by the veterinarian but someone that hardly understood the language used in the report. This gave us the impression that they were paying little to no attention to her. We visited her 3 times while in their care and even though we called ahead to scheduled the visit as they asked, each time we waited at least an hour in the waiting room, one time for 3 hours before we could see her. When we finally did pull her out of this location due to our dissatisfaction with her care at MedVet, her paw was so swollen and the vet (the only time we had been able to speak directly to one of them) told us “yes, sorry her IV drip was on double what it should have been because my tech read my instructions for the pump incorrectly and her bandage was on too tight”. That is very concerning. They seem to be way too understaffed and too busy and so are hiring whoever they can. We finally had to bring our little girl to a different 24 hour care facility and unfortunately had to make the decision to euthanize her, but I can’t help but wonder if her outcome would have been different had her first 48 hours of care in her precarious state been better. For the prices these types of places charge, I expected a lot more attention and better care.

Experiencia negativa: I'd like to get just one update about my hospitalized pet without being told about a new "care plan" aka request for additional $2000 payment. Seriously - do a better job with your estimates or - gasp - settle up at the end. I've felt like an ATM the last two times I've come here.
Lea, we’re sorry to hear you felt frustrated during your pet’s hospitalization. We completely understand how stressful it is when a beloved companion is in our care and additional costs come up during treatment. Our team never wants families to feel pressured—our goal is to keep you fully informed as your pet’s condition changes so you can make decisions that are right for them. In emergency and specialty medicine, treatment plans can evolve quickly as new information becomes available, and our team works hard to communicate those updates transparently and compassionately. We’re saddened to know your experience left a different impression, as every recommendation is made with your pet’s wellbeing at the center.
Experiencia fantástica: So much. My old buddy was in a painful, constant cycle of brain seizure, paddling, hard panting, then sometimes a small break with deep sleep. He could not stand on his own. I am old with a bad back. It was in the wee morning hours of a Saturday. No one to call to help me load him up. I finally had to call 911 and they sent DFD. They sent a truck over and carefully loaded him into my SUV, bless 'em. Got to MedVet, explained, and it was treated like proper emergency triage. The [relatively] tiny nurse who came out with a gurney saw the shape he was in, and just swooped him up (90-100 lbs dog) in her arms and ran him in, and they immediately got something into him to at least curb the seizures for a while, so he could rest a bit. No matter where you stand on pets... try to understand that places like this have to tread carefully, because they do not know where you stand on it. If it feels like you are not getting a perfectly straight and certain answer, it might be coming from this. They need to balance not pushing you towards losing your home over your pet with actually giving you options in case you are the type to do that, anyway. I am sure that is a difficult path to navigate for them. This team navigated it absolutely perfectly. Every question was answered and prices were clear (and honestly very reasonable for a 24/7 vet ER). Paperwork was easy. No matter how they would have personally decided to proceed, I got zero sense of anyone elses opinions being allowed to judge the one I ultimately had to make. I have had to make this same decision for 4 animals and 2 people so far, in my life. I am honestly telling you, now, that I have had people doctors who did not handle this scenario with such tender care and support as this entire team did. I am very glad that Sparky was surrounded by such love and competent professionalism in his final moments. Thank you, MedVet.
Thank you so much for sharing Sparky’s story. Your words truly moved our team. We’re deeply touched to know you felt supported and cared for during such a heartbreaking time. Our team pours their hearts into every patient they treat, especially during those difficult final moments, and we’re grateful that Sparky was surrounded by compassion and comfort. Your appreciation means more than you know, and we’re honored you trusted us with your beloved companion’s care.
Experiencia fantástica: I have read the reviews about MedVet and I can only share our experiences. We have our own local vet for care. MedVet is our go-to for emergency situations. We've taken our dogs here 3 times for snake bites. Every single time we have been greeted with compassionate care and immediate responsiveness. Being available 24/7 is expensive. It is the same for humans and emergency room prices. You get what you pay for and for us, saving the life of a pet is far important than a number in our bank account. Full stop. I cannot thank the staff enough for taking such good care of our dogs. If you have an emergency I would recommend them but if you'd rather save money for that vacation, that is your choice. Thanks again! Y'all are fantastic animal caregivers. Maybe one day my dogs will stop playing with snakes! -Melisa & Debbie

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Graves and Hailey in the Internal Medicine department were great and helped us stay very informed about our dog Capone! Checkin was quit and the wait wasn’t long. Would recommend MedVet.
Thank you for the kind words about Dr. Graves, Hailey, and our Internal Medicine team. We’re so glad we could support you and Capone with timely, thorough care. Your trust means everything to us, and we’re happy to hear your visit went smoothly from start to finish.
Experiencia fantástica: Highly recommend Med Vet for any emergency care for your pet. The staff is very friendly and caring! My french bulldog was hospitalized for two nights and Hailey, the vet technician did a wonderful job of communicating how my dog was doing while in their care. Dr. Gibbs, Dr. Graves, and Dr. Rogers all were very helpful in creating a treatment plan for my dog.
Thank you, Cynthia, for the thoughtful review and recommendation. We’re so glad our team was able to support your beloved French Bulldog and keep you informed every step of the way. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with our team!
