Experiencia fantástica: I had to take my sulcata tortoise for a vet visit and I am so glad I found Summertree. I was able to make a same day appointment. It was a fast and easy check in and they had us back to the exam room quickly. Bree, the tech, took our info and was so sweet with my tortoise and explained the process and expected costs clearly. Dr. Nasser came in and examined my baby and explained what was going on. We made another appointment for treatment and Dr. Nasser graciously answered all of my questions and spent time making sure I was comfortable with the treatment plan going forward. I would highly recommend Summertree, especially if you are able to see Bree and Dr. Nasser. The office is clean and well maintained and the staff is fantastic. They'll be my vet of choice going forward.

Dr. Finn made me feel heard and provided great information and resources for a first-time mice owner. Her techs were friendly, knowledgeable, and caring, and the front desk staff was also very welcoming. Loved the overall vibes and energy of the clinic and will definitely be back!

This was our first visit with an exotic vet and was well worth the drive (we drove an hour to come). We brought our leopard gecko in who was having quite a few issues and I felt very supported and never judged. Praying Spotty turns a corner and makes it, but regardless I am a believer in this clinic! Grateful for their help today!

It’s really nice having a vet with exotic knowledge, and it feels like they give the same level of care to the smaller babies as much as the bigger ones too. Experiencia negativa: If this vet has also hurt your pet, please file with the veterinary board. Please don’t use for small animal surgery. They caused a lot of pain to my rabbit who has now passed away due to their actions. They will reply to this response and take no responsibility.

Experiencia fantástica: My leopard gecko had been having issues for a few months with shedding and built up a crusty patch on both eyes. I had tried reaching out to multiple exotic pet vets in the area but everyone would get back with me saying they don’t do lizards. I’m so glad I found this clinic! We had two appointments with Dr Wilson and she was so gentle and kind. I felt like a terrible pet parent bc I had let our gecko get to the point she had gotten but I never felt judged by Dr Wilson or the staff. She was able to remove the built up shed and prescribed eye drops, oral antibiotics for another issue, and some NSAIDs for any related discomfort. They also provided guidance on how to administer everything and an info sheet on proper care. Although I felt like we knew how to care for our gecko and had the proper setup, it turns out we were missing some key parts of her care. Her habitat is setup properly now. She lost quite a bit of weight over the last several months and wasn’t eating, likely due to both her inability to see from the shed buildup, the infection, and the discomfort. We weren’t sure if she would be able to see even after removing the shed and treating the infection, and I’ve been worried about her not eating but today I woke up to her outside of her hide looking very lively and watching me walk around again for the first time in many months. I refilled her bowl and she seemed really interested and hungry so I tried to feed her with tongs and she ate 12 worms for the first time in probably 6-8 months!! She seems like she is finally feeling like her old self again and can see. I’m so grateful for Dr Wilson, the staff, and the clinic. Re:pricing - this is part of the reason I put this off so long. In addition to most clinics stating they don’t help reptiles, I was afraid I would be spending 1000s of dollars on diagnostics. I feel like this clinic was more than reasonable. They provide an estimate up front of the anticipated diagnostics, medications, and services and then my actual cost ended up being less than the estimate. I like that they do this, it’s the opposite of sticker shock. They prepare you for worst case scenario with the cost and then don’t end up having to do everything they might have needed to do for worst case scenario so the cost is less. I really appreciate this. The pricing either way was a lot less than I expected.

Everyone at Summertree was very friendly and I was immediately at ease knowing he was in good hands. Bree and Dr Finneburgh were so kind and educational. She explained everything clearly and treated him (Mercy) with such compassion. The staff was friendly, the clinic spotless, and Mercy is now happy and healthy! Highly recommend for anyone with feathered friends.

Experiencia negativa: I had a terrible experience with Summertree. I tried them because of their excellent reviews. I brought my 7mo old kittens in for a check-up and behavior consult. It was my kittens 1st visit to SUmmerTree. Dr. Joiner saw them both at 8 AM on Saturday. By 9 PM Sunday night, my little girl had died from Feline Infectious Peritonitis at the Vet ER. The ER sent the report to Summertree, but they did not call me back on Monday. Neither did I hear from them on Tuesday so I called them and asked to speak with the doctor. She called back. She expressed her condolences on the phone and in an email. But that was it. I asked how it could be that a kitten was brought to them for care on one day, and on the next day that kitten is gone. I didn't get anything resembling an answer or any admission of guilt. Now imagine if this were a human baby. It is very hard for me to understand how a medical professional can miss glaring problems and still be considered a professional. Note too: Summertree made no gesture to refund any of the expenses I incurred there. They seem like very nice people. I wish i could tender a better report, but my experience was traumatic. (Now I hope they do not reply here, as that would add insult to injury; any reply here would simply be a vain attempt at damage control.)

Experiencia fantástica: I saw Dr. Finneburgh about a skeletal concern I’ve been having for my 2.5 yr old Shih Tzu. After three other vets told me “he just has Shih Tzu legs,” Dr. Finn immediately took x-rays and validated my concern with a diagnosis. Not only was she able to immediately address the issue and provide a recommendation, but her bedside manner is fantastic. I felt so comfortable there and it’s clear that the entire office loves the pets they see. Everyone was kind and helpful and showed Michael so much love. I could hear through the walls how they talked to him during his x-rays… they treated him exactly how I would, with care and love. Amazing vet, amazing staff… As an insane person who thinks of my dog as my child, I trust them.

I was immediately put at ease, both were very knowledgeable about bearded dragons and gave me solid advice on feedings. They explained everything during the exam and after. Got back to be seen quickly. Bree and Dr. Finn were wonderful. You could tell they care and weren’t just out to make money. Experiencia negativa: Brought a sick hamster. They took him to the back room. They came back and said he needs to be euphanized because he has "abdominal breathing". I said no, I wasnt the sole owner and asked them to bring him back They took forever because they were "preparing the meds. They again insisted on euthanizing and then took again forever to bring him back. Then they said they would give him a pain killing injection, I said you said any treatment would make him fell worse, they agreed but agin no hamster. Then they made me sign the paper that I refused to euphanize my hamster despite the medical advice and because of my choice his condition may worsen and he may die? Suggested euthanization was sure death so how was it supposed to get any worse than that? Totally unprofessional and unethical. I trusted them when I brought him in and now I have doubts about what was happening repeatedly behind that closed door and why they were not bringing him out for so long despite my numerous protests. He died after I signed the paper. In my bill this visit was called "after 10 days recheck" visit and costed me 128 dollars

I especially appreciate that they do no "talk down to you" and put everything in layman's terms to make you fully understand what is going on with your fur baby health wise. Experiencia fantástica: I have 6 birds. I live North of Lake Lewisville but would make the 1 hour drive down to this clinic any day of the week to have these guys see my babies. Avian vets are hard to come by and these guys are awesome! They have ALWAYS worked to get me in as soon as possible and are always kind and pleasant and reasonably priced! Just wish they were closer!!!

Experiencia negativa: I brought my dwarf hamster here for an infected cheek pouch. I received a call that the vet dropped my Hamster on her head. My Hamster had to be admitted to the emergency room. About two weeks later, she passed away. A coincidence? I think not. It’s been almost a year and I have to think about this every single day. Obviously, the proper precautions were not taken to ensure my Hamster safety, and she’s seemingly no longer with us because of careless mistakes.

After my bird was ready, they told me she did a very good job and I was just so happy. Thank you Summer tree!

Experiencia fantástica: Our dog has gone to Summer Tree since she was a pup 6 years ago. They are always super good with her even though she is anxious. They have been good about getting her in on short notice and referring out to specialists and after hours care providers as needed. They also offer in-office boarding which we haven't ever used but is a nice feature if you have a pet with special medical needs while you are traveling!

Experiencia negativa: I brought in my rooster with an obvious broken leg. I wanted them to treat his leg or at least do something to help him recover. Their answer to me was "it's probably best to put him down" That is RIDICULOUS!!! because fast forward to 3-4 weeks, my rooster is walking, running and standing tall, fully healed from his injury.

If he started coming down with anything, she would catch it right away! Sabrina, the licensed veterinary nurse, provides excellent care as well. SABC is a great clinic to bring any kind of animals you have that need care!

Three of my dogs (two rescues and my present Cavalier) have received excellent professional care from the doctors and staff there over the last eight years. The clinic always follows up by phone after appointments and when the time came for the express train to heaven, the doctors and staff were compassionate and very accommodating. Experiencia fantástica: Ellen Nasser is wonderful!! We had an emergency vet visit a few days prior due to a back injury. She was able to explain in an understanding type manor by going over X-rays and congenital reasons behind her back injury. She’s nice and wants to help both animal and their human companions.
