Experiencia fantástica: Been going to McAbee Vet Hospital since 1989. After it was bought out things went way down hill for a few years. Then came Dr. Weatherford, he is fantastically outstanding . He helped with my elderly dog when he passed away and now sees my Dauchshund. He is kind, thoughtful, caring, not pushy, rude or forceful. I once again know my dog is in good hands. Thank you. Experiencia fantástica: What a wonderful place. I recently visited this veterinary clinic and I have to say, it was a wonderful experience. The entire staff were incredibly pleasant and welcoming, making me feel right at home. What stood out the most to me was that unlike other veterinary clinics I've been to, they didn't try to push unnecessary tests and medications on me just to make a buck. I appreciated their honesty and transparency, knowing that they truly had my pet's best interest at heart. It's refreshing to find a place that prioritizes the well-being of the animals over profit. My dogs feel very comfortable coming into this place and it makes my heart feel good to see them without any anxiety when they walk through the doors for their visit. Overall, I highly recommend this veterinary clinic to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate place to take their furry friends. You won't be disappointed!

Experiencia positiva: Since the caring Vets left I stopped taking my girls here. I had been coming here since 1996. Paid more but got everything done by Dr. Olsen at Blue Pearl. Also I had to stop getting shots done on them because of the lymphoma and got notes from Blue Pearl to have as proof and notified McAbees for their records and yet get a text today reminding me to get the shots. Guess they don't keep up on the files Also had to put Taffy and Luna to sleep and notified McAbees but they are calling me to get shots done.

Experiencia negativa: I would not recommend coming here if you want your pets to feel comfortable. Yes, they’re very affordable, but I’m perfectly happy paying more at a vet filled with people who actually like animals. When I brought my cat in I was a bit panicked. He was throwing up repeatedly and not eating. The receptionist signed me in, but that’s it. She wasn’t welcoming or friendly and seemed more interested in gossiping with her coworker. I didn’t wait long which was nice, and I was brought into a room by the only person I dealt with the whole time who seemed to genuinely care. The vet tech was very nice and comforting to my cat. She kept trying to calm him down and soothe him. When the vet finally saw us she was very cold and seemed to take her job as strictly business. I understand that this is your career and you need to be professional, but it felt like she just saw us as another body and just wanted to get us through the exam and out. My cat ended up needing blood work and X-rays, so they took him to the back. Upon return, when the vet also came back into the room she explained the results. And this is when you lost my business. Now as I said previously, my cat was extremely scared and nervous, completely understandable since it was his first time in this place and he had to be poked and prodded. Now instead of the vet undemanding the circumstances, she continuously told me how “bad” my cat was while taking X-rays and blood. I was immediately taken aback because my cat is so friendly and lovey and would never be “bad” if he wasn’t under stress. She then proceeded to tell me she had to run more tests but wasn’t sure if he’d “let her” because he was “bad”. If I didn’t need answers as to what was wrong with him, I would have walked out. Taking your pet to a vet is already stressful enough without someone constantly telling you you have a bad animal because they’re scared. And to top it off, after she was able to do her last test, we were given meds and sent home. No explanation as to what the final reasoning was for him being sick and not eating. She didn’t even remember to tell the front she wanted him on a different food they sold. I had to remind them. And when I went to check out at that same receptionist from earlier was even less interested in me and was chatting with her coworker while also not being knowledgeable about my checkout process. It took 10 minutes for her to figure out how to charge me and that entire time she was chatting with 2 coworkers who were just sitting on their phones. I will be taking my cat somewhere else that hopefully employs people who actually care about people and their pets.

Experiencia negativa: This is a veterinary practice that has lost its way. I had a long history as a customer here. It used to be rich with caring, experienced, and intelligent veterinarians who invested their time and skills in thorough examination and well considered discussions on possible plans of action. That has changed. If you’re looking for veterinarians who will rush through a cursory examination and dismiss your concerns and observations with a shrug of the shoulders and offer minimal consultation, this is the place to come. My 11-year old lab had a firm, large mass in her upper right abdomen that was dismissed as “nothing” by two of their current vets. No further conversations were offered. No discussion of what might be presenting to them and what tests would be indicated were offered. I brought my sweet dog to a different practice where the vet immediately observed the mass and after thorough physical exam discussed their findings and presented a differential diagnosis. We then discussed various options for imaging along with budget and the various pros and cons of each type of imaging. We settled on a simple XRay and blood draw which confirmed the differential diagnosis. At this point we had a detailed discussion on prognosis, potential courses of treatments and the outcome data for each treatment. In short, they practiced veterinary medicine. Sadly, in my experience one should not expect this level of skill and practice at McAbee any more. Hopefully the practice will find its way again soon, but not with my pets.

Experiencia negativa: I just left this place after taking my Frenchie in. We had a scare with him where he was foaming at the mouth & not breathing as well as in overall distress. We take him in & the front desk girl was not at all welcoming, she says “let me see if we can fit him in” after we describe his symptoms to her. Then they tell us that they “cannot fit us in because they are all booked”. Why are you called a veterinary hospital if you aren’t going to be hospitable or help us when we were in an emergency?! I will say the Head Vet Tech they sent out was very nice & my dog was comfortable around her.

The staff was so kind and quick to respond even though we were not even regular customers. They treated us as if they had known us for years!! Experiencia negativa: I'm usually very satisfied with my visits here, but when I went on Wednesday it was anything but. I had went in to have my cat's nails cut and mentioned he was straining in the litter box, the technician said they could do a urinary exam, I only said sure because there has been UTIs going around. Then the tech asked me to confirm because I had mentioned that it might be a colon issue so I said I think he'll be fine without one, then. Apparently that went in one ear and out the other because it was done anyway. 180 dollars just for the vet to tell me there nothing wrong with his urine and his bowel issue is probably from stress. Then they wanted me to buy 75 dollar dietary food on top of all that, had to tell the receptionist three times I wasn't buying it. Ridiculous, only coming back here when he needs his shots

I am confused, however, as your appointment was book online to see a doctor for a nail trim and straining. That means you or someone representing you put that in, not us. We also provided you a treatment plan listing out the recommendations and cost, that you signed approving them. As for the food, we recommended that type of food but explained to you, as we do all of our clients that you are welcome to purchase it here, from our online pharmacy or we can provide a written prescription for you to purchase at another place of your choosing. Again, I am sorry that the experience was not as you would have hoped but it definitely sounds like we provided the care and did the services that you requested and authorized. Experiencia fantástica: We took out two year old Lhasa Apso to see Dr. Weatherford for her yearly checkup. Dr. Weatherford was, kind and efficient. He has a low key personality which made us comfortable and was happy to answer any questions. Experiencia negativa: Too many reasons for this review to list out, but we transitioned here after our last vet closed their doors a few years back and I would highly advise for people to look elsewhere. It’s a revolving door of staff, doctors and communication is highly unorganized. You and your pets are only a number of many. It might have been run differently several years ago, or transitioned ownership. We removed our dogs from their (honestly lack of) care.

Experiencia negativa: Not worth the hype. I was highly recommended this vet. Based on the pricing i was expecting a great experience. Unfortunately that was not the case. This has got to be the most disorganized veterinarian clinic I have ever been to. I had to wait 2 weeks to get a "establish the patient " visit. Which they required which is fine. I arrived to my appointment on time and was asked to wait. Fine no big deal 10 minutes in ... still waiting ... 20 minutes in still waiting ... 25 minutes in .. I asked when they expect to be able to see my pet. The Girl at the front says a few minutes... I said but you said that 25 minutes ago .. I tell her i have another appointment at in 30 minutes. So 40 minutes later still no vet . So I advised the girl at the front who tries to ask if I want to sit and wait in a room instead. Why would I want to sit in a room to.wait more? It made no sense. I told her if I have to be out of here in 5 minutes and the exam takes more than 5 minutes I don't have time to do that. Still no apology ,no reason why the delay was ,no estimated time frame. No courtesy at all. Clearly they don't value our time. I don't know about you but I'm tried of scheduling appointments and sitting waiting around like I have nothing better to do but to be waiting for them to call me when they can accommodate me. Then charge me a bunch of money. I don't mind paying if the service I am providing is stellar but a 40 +minute wait with no explanation is unacceptable. They scheduled this appointment way in advance so they knew I was coming with my dog. At the very least give me an estimated time.frame for when I can expect to see the vet so that I can make an informed decision. I finally asked is this customary for these long waits ... it was only then they came up with a generic excuse ... but if that were true tell me up front so I can make a decision accordingly. Further this clinic has multiple vets ... I don't think this would ever be acceptable. It seems that only their time is valuable. I would not recommend this clinic for people who value their time and money. If you have a job where time is money then proceed with caution. You may be there for a while. So schedule at least 2 hours for your "establish patient" visits in your calendar.

The Doctor spent a few hours examining and addressing our concerns and questions and the decision was made not to do the surgery as it was in the best interest for our pup! Experiencia fantástica: Front desk staff is very friendly and helpful, vet assistant (sorry I don’t remember her name but she had on some nice dunks!) and Dr.Gray were amazing as well. Have seen 3 providers in office since switching my pets here and have liked every single one. They have all taken their time and answered any questions or concerns we had and never felt like we were rushed. Pricing is reasonable as well, Can’t see myself changing vet clinics any time soon!

Experiencia fantástica: McAbee got us started as a new patient very smoothly. We felt welcomed, and we also felt as if we got a thorough annual exam with dedicated time to answer any questions we had. Now after about a year with them, we are still happy. Dr Sawyer has been great - she listens and is very attentive. They are a good vet, so they do get busy. They took the time over the phone to help me plan the appointment and gave me pricing for several services. I chose this practice based on their reviews and i was referred here. Experiencia negativa: The first time I came here I had a wonderful experience but unfortunately I don’t remember the name of the vet who saw my cat. Every visit after that, the client care has declined in quality each time. The receptionists and the techs are super dry on the phone and in person. I took my dog for a tech appointment to get his staples removed after he had a complicated surgery and the tech did not bother to introduce herself, ask how my dog was doing after surgery, or even give me a proper farewell. I worked in a very reputable vet hospital for 2 years, so I have pretty high standards when it comes to client care and Mcabee has not been delivering like I thought they once did. The only reason I will be returning is to figure out what’s going on with my dog, and once that is settled, I won’t be coming back or recommending Mcabee again.

Experiencia positiva: Office staff and Katie Office Mgr. very professional. That’s why I am giving a rating of 4. 1. When I called on Monday morning 3 appointments were available. 2 emergency appointments for $98.75 in the AM and 1 regular visit at 5:30PM for $68.75. I chose the 5:30PM appointment. 2. My fury baby seen a traveling veterinary. I was not pleased about that. I expect to see a veterinary on staff. Katie office manager marked the account for further visits to see a veterinarian on staff. 3. When I was presented with the estimated invoice they had me charged with the emergency visit of $98.75 instead of the regular visit of $68.75. I told them to correct it the tech argued with me it was emergency because I called in that morning I told her no it wasn’t that was not what I was told when I called that morning. They did correct the invoice. 4. I brought my fury baby in because I thought she had a UTI. On the estimated invoice they had 2 injections for $90.10 to be given IF she had a UTI. They took her to do the urinalysis and when they brought her back the tech said they had given her the injections but the urinalysis was still running. I asked her why they did that before the urinalysis came back. When the urinalysis came back she didn’t have a UTI. I was not happy that my furry baby got injections for something she didn’t have. 5. I found out all she needed was a stool softener and not from McAbee Veterinary. 6. Katie Office Mgr. called me and marked my account so my furry baby would see a staff veterinary future state she also returned the $90.10 for the injections. I was not planning on going back especially since Dr McAbee no longer owns the clinic. Katie apologized for the issues and said they still have things to work through and listened to my complaints and was concerned and I felt like she was sincere. I will give them a second chance because of Katie’s professionalism.

I brought my cat in for an emergency before I left for a week long trip and waited almost an hour with a very anxious cat. An hour for an emergency is crazy. Then the vet I saw did not take any of my concerns seriously and was upset that my cat was upset after sitting in a carrier around strange animals for an hour. Experiencia negativa: All the good veterinarians are sadly gone from this place. I took my dog in for a 2nd opinion… which is my right to do so ….even in human a 2nd opinion or 3rd opinion is up to the Patient. The Dr. (Kinney) seem to have taken Offense because she tells me “just because we can’t tell you what wrong Doesn’t mean we’re morons.” She went on to say how they a regular vet didn’t have the proper equipment. Maybe you should have started there…… Then I called 2 days later left a message with the receptionist that my pet had declined his eyes were closed & that I needed something called in to get me to his apt On Wednesday to the ophthalmologist. Crickets….. NO ONE seem to care never even got a call back from any of the vets as I was told she wasn’t there. Learn to have empath & not see people like just a number . I myself work in the medical field ( oncology) & would never treat a patient this way.

Experiencia positiva: I started bringing my dog to McAbee as a puppy shortly after getting him. Overall my experience was not awful and it was easy scheduling appointments. We did see a different vet each visit which led to some inconsistencies in information received. Ultimately, I switched to an equally well respected veterinary clinic after receiving an astronomical estimate for neutering. I wasn’t left with a strong opinion about McAbee, good or bad, but suspect those who have concerns about seeing the same provider each visit and/or costs would be better served elsewhere.

Experiencia fantástica: We really like Dr. Weatherford. He is kind and attentive, and listens to you. He is patient with your pet and medically thorough. We also like the Ms. Evna who is kind and loving to your pet during what can be anxious visits. The office are definitely short-staffed, and the waits can be long which can be stressful on your pet & you. I would suggest an alert system to notify patients when there is a delay. But we are not frequent visitors to the office so Dr. Weatherford is worth our wait.

Experiencia fantástica: We love McAbee! They genuinely and truly care about their patients and the humans that own those patients. Our 12 year old dog has been so sick for many months and we tried all kinds of things to help him heal naturally. It’s helped, but not enough. We came to a point where his quality of life was just not what it should be and we made the tough call to help ease his pain. But Dr. Malisse went above and beyond and helped find the perfect solution for him by trusting her gut and exploring every option for us and our once inconsonant, old, withering away dog is like a new puppy again. Experiencia fantástica: I just had a procedure done on my new puppy. I have always been impressed with the care i get for my pets. I would never go anywhere else. Facilities super clean, staff very friendly and seem happy. Pre-care and post care have been amazing. They are probably a little more expensive, but my rule has always been “You get what you pay for.”They are well worth it. Thank you

Experiencia fantástica: Best place I have found for my dog she is so much healthier and happy. And the staff I don't get the chance to give a 5star review often but the staff is GREAT. They have always been extremely nice and helpful. Having an animal is an expense but good care for my lovely girl is the best investment for my healthy dog Ican't thank them enough.

Experiencia negativa: McAbee Vet Hospital has gone down hill with service. They do not care about your pets. I have brought my pets here for 20 years but no longer. Dr McAbee is no longer actively working here and sold the business so it is Corporate now and you can tell by the service. I brought my pets here because they use to care for your pet as If the pet was there’s but not any more. I will immediately be looking for a new vet for my dog.

Experiencia negativa: Have been waiting 4 days and have made 3 phone calls for a tech to approve an already prescribed pain medication. I still don’t have confirmation it’s even been approved yet. Now I will run out my dog’s pain meds. There’s been several instances this year of staff not returning phone calls, not emailing a promised cost estimate for surgery or mailing wrong prescriptions, each instance taking SEVERAL phone calls from me to get straightened out. I don’t have time to keep calling your office to make sure your job gets done correctly and in a timely manner!

Experiencia negativa: I have been going to McAbee vet for easily over 20 years and let me tell ya they aren’t who they use to be. I had a skin care program for my dog setup by multiple doctors there to only find out most don’t work there anymore and they didn’t share any of that skin care program with the new doctors or regime that has taken over the vet. The vet made recommendations to not use the med I was using for 7+ years without going through my file with great care and detail and refused to prescribe the medication needed that has proven to work. Damn shame this place use to be like family to us and was a wonderful place to go. Not so much anymore they are all about squeezing every last dollar out of you refusing to do anything without coming in for a visit paying the fee even if you were there 3 weeks earlier. I highly recommend Seminole trail animal hospital and dr Pulumbo. Leave this vet “factory” for an actual vet family.

Mr. Benzion, I apologize that you are not happy with out hospitals recommendation to bring in your pet for an exam when you called to refill antibiotics. We are absolutely able to see what the other doctors have done in the past but as stated on the phone that does not always mean that should be the forever treatment for a skin condition. It is the best interest of the pet to be seen and evaluated before putting them on or keeping them on antibiotics. We want to ensure we are providing the very best treatment for your pet and feel we can do that by having a thorough exam and exploring all treatment options. Experiencia fantástica: McAbee has always been fantastic and continues to go above and beyond! My dog stepped in gum/mulch and it was deep, and I was stuck to paw pads. I called, and Adelis answered the phone. She told to come in and they would take her immediately. Adelis, Carissa, Alexis and Juliannette cared for my little one and went above and beyond. It was a team effort and they made this experience great for us, once again. I recommend McAbee 100%!! Nothing but caring vet techs and vets who love and take care of your little ones!

Experiencia fantástica: Every doctor I've seen has been great. I had a large, previously stray, diabetic cat who also has constipation and bad teeth. They have dealt with every problem professionally and with good bed side manner. They may not be the cheapest, but they're some of the best vets I've ever had (and I've lived all over the USA). Despite their and my best efforts, eventually my cat had to be put to sleep. They were compassionate and lovely through the whole process. I highly recommend them to anyone with an animal through any stage of life.

Experiencia fantástica: Just in for quick flu shots for our pups. While there. a young man came in with his kitten in serious condition. The front desk staff jumped into action with the utmost respect and professionalism for both the young man and their clients in the waiting room. “Cat” was very professional in accommodating my request. We have been clients for over 20 years and have always been treated with dignity and respect. Thank you to the Doc and front desk staff for the kindness they show this young man and his fur baby.

Experiencia fantástica: My darling Sophie was attacked by a coyote in our backyard. She needed to be seen for urgent wound care and treatment. Dr. Englehardt was exceptionally patient with my big (95lbs), nervous pup. She examined and cleaned the wound and sent us home with the appropriate meds to ensure Sophie’s return to excellent health. We’ve had only positive experiences with McAbee Veterinary Hospital with two of our pets over the course of 22 years. Always consistent, personal and compassionate care of our furry family members. Experiencia fantástica: I had an amazing experience here my first time. I've always passed this clinic but never came in, my groomer recommended I come here and it did not disappoint! The staff was friendly and tentative and the wait in the waiting room was not very long compared to other vet offices. Thank you to Olivia for helping me through the whole process from walking through proposed invoice all the way to demonstrating how to get my dog his medication at home. I will definitely recommend this place to my family and friends!

Experiencia fantástica: We love ❤️ everything about this place. No waiting apt on time. Great customer service from the front desk they are so efficient. Our Vet Dr. Weatherford was fantastic. Our little doggy Sparky was very nervous and he made his feel at ease. He didn’t feel any of his shots. Dr Weatherford is so personal and very attentive to Sparky & our questions. I definitely recommend this place.

Experiencia fantástica: They got my baby right in even during a “tropical storm” Very friendly staff even with my human baby. Very warm welcoming environment. This is also the first vet I’ve brought my 70lb Bully to where he walked right in without having to be carried!! I would give it 10 stars if I could! I’m newer to the area and needed to find a closer vet, this is the place and the only one I’ll recommend to anyone!
