He was absolutely the most knowledgeable vet I have ever been to and I’ve been a dog owner for 30 years. Dr. Andy gave me the confidence to raise my dog the right way this time! Going over health, safety and best practices. I drove 40 minutes to get to Dr. Andy and so worth it! Even if he is not in your area, TRUST ME and make the trip! Thank you Laura and Dr. Andy!! Best VET IN TOWN!

Experiencia negativa: I took my cats here for several years, when there wasn't a major problem they seemed competent and kind. When an actual serious medical concern began with one of them Dr. Andy would become increasingly agitated, up to pulling out textbooks in front of us and shrugging as he told us "none of this makes sense." We trusted him in that, after all he had a textbook and was a vet. Why wouldn't we? Clearly our cat was a unique oddball with a strange disease. We were not problem patients, we were the kind of folks that were willing and able to pay for whatever treatment was required to keep our cats healthy and trusted him to provide veterinary care with accuracy. We used his boarding services multiple times a year. We recommended dozens of people to his practice. Before a serious concern happened, we would strongly be in the same group as the 5 star ratings you see on here. When my cat later suffered a urinary blockage that nearly killed him, Dr. Andy tried to do triage treatment and ended up damaging our cat's urethrae, and then sent us home. When we came back about our cat's sudden demonstrations of pain, lethargy, and incontinence, he literally ushered us out of his practice within a few minutes of arrival. It felt to us in the moment like he realized he had made some sort of error and he wanted us gone as quickly as possible to become someone else's problem. There was no kindness. There was literally a shrug, a "I can't help you" and him telling us to "look online, there are lots of vets." We were devastated at the time, but assumed his reaction was mostly because the situation was unique and bizarre. We were able to get help from another practice, which was able to properly diagnose the problem and take immediate action to fix it. We were told, in no uncertain terms, that this entire situation could have been avoided with early diagnosis, and that the triage treatment caused considerable complications and was done extremely poorly. While there we were informed that Dr. Andy was apparently notorious at this practice for ignoring serious concerns in cats until it was too late and we were lucky there was still time to save our boy. I'm ashamed to admit I defended Dr. Andy at that time, he was always so kind and friendly. In the decade following, we moved. We heard stories from some of the folk we recommended about similar instances of him dropping the ball once serious concerns began. Today, in 2024, browsing the reviews, I see that literally the same thing is still happening to this day. If all you need are boarding services or booster shots, Dr. Andy can manage that. Suturing up a puncture? Seems plausible. I'd be hesitant to trust him to be able to identify or provide support for more serious concerns for cats. Keep in mind my experience was almost a decade ago. It's *still* happening today. Look at the other 1 star reviews and trust them. I write this in 2024 because his office had the audacity to email me asking me to come back to the practice after all this time, seemingly having forgotten he refused care for my cat. Probably a minor error on a listserv, but one that brought back how poorly we were treated and, in contrast, how well we are treated by our current practice. I don't say this to drive you to a specific place. There are dozens of great practices in the city and likely by time you read this the specific ones worth going to will have shifted as vets retire and new blood enters the scene. It's possible that even Interlachen could have a new vet once you read this. It's easy to think highly of a kind but incompetent man. I do not doubt for a moment that Dr. Andy and his staff are kind and well meaning. Both us and our pets got on well with everyone there. But when you actually need serious medical support for a cat, be it diagnosis, treatment, or surgery, I'd be cautious in trusting Dr. Andy to provide it. The other reviews here seem to suggest that his operational realities have not changed.

Experiencia negativa: Just moved to the area about a year ago … I should never have been talked out of the flea and tick meds that work for my pets … my dogs have NEVER had fleas … I was schooled on how sentinel was the best way to go … even had the text book brought out to convince me because I’m dumb and was treated as such … so I did … he’s my new vet but I wanted to trust him … 1 year later and my pup showed up with a parasite worm in her poop … which is flea related … a booster drug was prescribed to help boost the sentinel but after an entire week this vet still did not fill the script … actually not the first time a needed drug was prescribed but not approved … I am so sad the only one that suffers is my pet cause now she had two well developed fleas on HER annndddd …IN MY HOME! … also first appt both times I saw this vet and the place is not at all clean … I’m the second visit and there is dry pee at the checkout desk, hair everywhere, some kind of crushers treat on the floor … it’s 9am do better

Experiencia fantástica: Kozmo and Kizmet have been going to Dr Andy since they were baby pups. They are sweet and loving Doxies and Dr Andy takes excellent care treating them like family members. I am the type of doggie mommy that just wants the best. I don't want them to wait for me to approve... I just want my babies cared for. I know Dr Andy will do this and he will make sure they don't feel pain because that is always my preference. Only the best for my pups and Dr Andy delivers high quality. If you are looking for a cheap vet that will only do the minimum - move along. This is the vet for people who view their pets as family! Unfortunately I moved from Baldwin Park (near Dr. Andy) to Celebration (an hour away) but am seriously considering the long drive for my dogs future care, just because he is SO WONDERFUL!

Experiencia fantástica: I fostered, then adopted a Corgi Mix last year. It was time for her shots and annual checkup so I researched online and found Interlachen and Dr. Andy. There were a lot of positive comments and I found the services offered on their website to be very appealing. Cassie got all her shots, her teeth cleaned, a bath, nails clipped and a full physical for under 2 hours. My sweetie did very well for her first vet visit and I was very happy and comfortable with Dr Andy and his staff. I think I was more anxious than Cassie was ;-). I recommend Interlachen Veterinary services and Dr. Andy for anyone searching for a good vet who also happens to be in a good location. Check their website out and go visit. Interlachen is highly recommended by our family - my sister and brother both use them too. Sis had a minor surgery on her pooch and all went well. Between the care given to my 13 1/2 yr old golden and his great staff, Lauren and the other gentleman, I felt comfortable with their care. The office is well lit and there is plenty of space to spread out, which is great if you have an anxious animal. The staff is friendly, prompt & caring. I took my Great Dane in for a teeth cleaning and he was treated well. I would highly recommend Dr. Andy for your veterinarian care needs!

Experiencia fantástica: I called Doctor Andy's office yesterday because my ex's cat Max had gotten into a fight with his other cat and they met me up at the office in 15 minutes. Max was scared to death and was messed up pretty badly. Luckily Dr. Andy's staff was kind enough to meet us on their day off and take care of him. We just picked him up and he looks 10x's better than when we dropped him off. The office staff made sure we felt comfortable and knew how scared we were. It's safe to say we're switching vets to Doctor Andy this week!! I recommend him highly!

Experiencia fantástica: My husband and I have had the immense pleasure of bringing our Chocolate Lab Shiloh to Interlachen Animal Hospital. As an animal lover I have come in contact with many veterinarians in my life and I can easily say that Dr. Andy is the most knowledgeable. His bedside manner is fantastic, and he really devotes all of his time and attention to your animal. When our dog needed emergency surgery, Dr. Andy arrived within TEN MINUTES and quickly attended to our dog and was happy to do so. Each time we have an appointment he answers all of our questions in great detail and we never feel like he wants to rush us out the door. He is warm and affectionate with our dog and always goes the extra step to make us feel comfortable. If you love your animal and want only the best for them please go see Dr. Andy, you will not be disappointed, and your pet will be grateful that they are in such capable hands.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been taking my furry family members to Dr. Andy for nearly 17 years. Dr. Andy is by far, the most caring vet I have ever encountered. You know when you go to pick up your cat from a vet, and he's lying on the receptionist's desk purring, that he's been treated well. Also, Dr. Andy will work with you to make necessary treatments affordable. There are several vets in closer proximity to me, but I would never take any of my animals anywhere else.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Andy is amazing. I received a lovely little puppy from my children for my birthday. Just two weeks later, my little Lilly jumped off the bed and broke her leg. I was a new pet owner and didn't even have a vet yet. I rushed Lilly to Dr Andy's near my home in my PJs. The wonderful team and Dr Andy took Lilly and cared for her. Experiencia negativa: HINK TWICE WAY TO MANY VETS IN TOWN TO BE DISMISSED AND TREATLY RUDELY. I set an appointment for a rescue. I asked questions about the pricing and there was no one in the lobby so I wasn't holding up anyone, the doctor called and asked the receptionist if I was still there. Not sure what that was about. I also asked if I could ask him a question and the receptionist acted more like his gate keeper who by the way had no personality. He was between appointments and her response was he can't speak with you as he has appointments again, Theresa's no one there. Even though there location was convenient, basically walking distance. I will find a different veterinarian.

Experiencia negativa: Took one of my dogs here last year for a tooth cleaning and thought Dr. Andy was good. I called to schedule an appointment for the doctor to check a bump on his tail. The office refused to schedule the appointment because I had my dog vaccinated at a different vet location than their office. They did not explain why this impacted the Doctors ability to see my dog. I was not advised this would be an issue when I previously took my dog to be examined last year. They promptly hung up on me and I thought the call disconnected by accident. I called back and left a message with no response. I called a third time before the issue was explained.

After moving from Miami, I was eager looking for a new vet for my yorkie Didi, and thankfully, I was introduced to Interlachen animal hospital & Dr. Andy. Didi absolutely LOVES Dr. Andy and everyone at Interlachen. She’s usually an anxious girl, but she is so happy & at ease there, because how loving the staff are at the hospital. I recently took my cat Hopper for his last round of vaccinations and they got us in and out very quickly. He also had an ulcer break out on his face and Dr. Andy informed me of all the possible causes and how to handle it. It may be hard to hear sometimes but I appreciate how honest he is with owners. Experiencia negativa: Said he was just going to trim and area on my husky’s leg and ended up shaving his whole back leg. My dogs breed is one that you CANNOT shave his fur, as the guard hairs don’t grow back. Very disappointed. And I always felt he was overcharging me every time I came, over $300 just for antibiotics. I will be taking my dog somewhere else.

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my cat here for a second opinion after a different vet told me she had a disease but she had no signs of said disease. The vet here looked thoroughly for any signs of anything and was able to tell me she only had a virus. She stayed over night at the vet and I got her back the next morning and she obviously felt better then when I brought her. The vet cares about our animals and does what he can and makes sure you understand what he's telling you and makes sure you understand how to best fix the problem. The environment is also incredibly friendly, the other people working there obviously get along and talk to the vet as if being friends. I'm glad I could go to such an enviting environment filled with amazing people that are doing the best for my pets. I highly recommend, I will continue bringing my pets here if needed in the future

Experiencia fantástica: I have never been to this vet, I had never even heard of them until today when my dog had a seizure. I was in a panic as she was seizing, trying to google any vet the internet would spit out at me. This one popped up and I didn’t even read the name, I just hit the call button. Anna at the front desk answered and asked if she could put me on hold. After hearing the panic in my voice, she stayed on the phone with me and walked me through the entire ordeal. It was the scariest thing I’ve ever experienced but this stranger was so kind and patient with my emotions and told me exactly what to do, even though she was most likely extremely busy. I am forever grateful for you guys. I cannot thank you enough.

Our puppy has severe allergies (to almost everything) and after bouncing around to multiple vets to find someone who would actually help, finally found it here. Not only did the dr and his team educate us on what was wrong but talked to us in a way we understood. Our puppy has never been better and is back to acting like a puppy again! 10/10 would recommend, our new vet for life!

Experiencia fantástica: We’ve been taking our dogs to Dr. Andy since 1997. He is one of the kindest, most caring people I’ve ever known and your pet could not be in better hands. His post doctorate helped save our rescue shepherd who had been misdiagnosed as having a pancreatic condition, and his care is the only thing that saved our other rescue with heart worm. He’s the best and so is his staff.

With his accurate diagnosis and treatment, she’s been able to turn the corner back to optimum health. Experiencia negativa: This vet is terrible. They don’t accept payments over the phone first, never experienced that in my life. He took my dog in another room to examine her, also never experienced that in my life, and before there’s an excuse for Covid, nobody working there wore masks. The vet was very rude, clearly cared more about money than the health of my dog. Offered very random treatments that totaled $700 and then another option to give her basic medicine that he knew wasn’t going to help her. I took her to another vet in the area and they were amazing, and actually took the time to help me and my dog at a much better price as well. Terrible experience, these people should not be taking care of animals.

Experiencia negativa: Overall, I enjoyed taking my pets to this clinic. Everyone has always been kind and helpful. Last Friday I took my cats to assess some skin issues I was noticing. The doctor prescribed an anti inflammatory shot, a new diet, and new flea med, so I went along with the treatment. On Monday, my 5 year old Siamese passed and crossed the rainbow bridge. I called the office and the receptionist said she’d ask the doctor then he’d give me a call to explain what could’ve happened. I never received a call. I requested an appointment at another vet to gain a second opinion for my other cat just in case and he sent me files through email, but still no phone call to even send his sentiments. I think it shows character and it seems like there was resentment of me seeking additional help, but that’s what any normal person would do. So thanks Dr. Andy. I will not be visiting again.

Lauren is extremely helpful and will go out of her way to help me when I call with problems and sees if there's something I could do at home before I have to bring my dog in. We get our Rx, Grooming, Vaccinations, and Annual visits done here. Prices are reasonable. My only ask is there's no weekend service when an RX is needed. Thankfully, we have Chewy for that.

All this vet cares about is money and meds, he kept telling me all the possible things that could be happening to my pets but every time they went into the back office if I didn’t spend hundreds on the meds he recommended he would send my dog back with an assistant and ZERO information. They never call you back with information, they never call when they say they will for a check up. He told me my dogs “might have fleas” but never did anything for them! Weeks later it’s now a huge problem I’ve spent hundreds here and now I’m going to spend hundreds somewhere else for ACTUAL INFORMATION! This man should be stripped of his practice as he truly has no shred of care for animals

I brought her in in a critical condition and she is happy as new now. I couldn’t be more relieved. Experiencia fantástica: Since moving to Florida 20+ years ago, Dr. Andy is the only vet that we have seen. My experience with him has always been that he is very thorough, caring and professional. He was the person we went to when we had to have our first baby put to sleep and the one we have taken our most recent adoptees to. We have five cats total and he helped get us on a plan for fleas that was both affordable and effective. And today we took in our two youngest to be spayed and neutered. I called to check up on them when I hadn't heard from his office and it turns out that he inadvertently called my house instead of my cell. Instead of the receptionist just saying they were fine, she let him know that about the mix up and he took the time to answer the phone and reiterate that the surgery went well. I can't imagine going to another office for my furbabies.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Andy was great! He took the time to talk to me an explain what was going on with my dogs, and I appreciated that. So many times other vets are quick to whisk your dog out of the room and come back with medication before really getting to the bottom of what may be going on with your pup or explaining what may be going on. He was also great about ensuring I had records of my dog’s blood work, and understanding where she is at her point in life and what may be going on with her- and for that, I am truly thankful! Awesome veterinary - he’s thorough and cares, and has reasonable pricing! I highly recommend Dr. Andy, wish I would have found him sooner!

Experiencia negativa: Really wish NO stars was an option. Dr. Andy and his staff gave 2 of our pets undue and unauthorized vaccines AND charged for it. How? Staff inability to read a pet record AND taking advantage of the elderly. DO NOT BRING YOUR PET TO THIS VET. THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU.

Experiencia negativa: Initial impression was very good. Dr. Andy seemed genuine and straightforward. Did his absolute best to assure us he cared about our dog. After a few 10 minute visits averaging $50-$100 a piece, he prescribed ear meds for my dog that I was to drip into his ears for the next 3 months. Upon talking to several vet friends, all of them told me I should only need to do that for a week and RUB in the medicine or it would not work. His infection cleared 90% within a week of the new information. Essentially, he tried to sell me on much more drug than was needed. I let that go as him just glossing over it. Several visits later, he told me my dog has allergies and would need to take Benadryl for his hot spots. This information is accurate however he did not specify type or amount of it, seeing as "any amount under two tablets won't hurt him". I proceeded to give him 1 tablet of Benadryl with decongestant a week later before work, at the vet's orders. Not an hour later, my girlfriend calls me frantic as my dog is vomiting all over the house. He needed an ER visit including injection to prevent dehydration and stomach pumped because Phenylephrine is highly toxic to dogs (only absolute basic Benadryl is okay for dogs). A detail the vet neglected to mention as he hurried through treatment once again. I let this go again, chalking it up to miscommunication, but of course I was very mad as he nearly killed my dog with his suggestion as well as I was out $400+ due to bill and missed work. Fast forward to present day pandemic. I have run out of sentinal for my dog and seeing as I was locked down, I ordered more off chewy.com. This requires vet approval, so a request was sent to their office. They ignored the request and instead spammed my inbox with their sale on the drug. Basically telling me buy it off us or don't get it at all. This man is a manipulator and one who rushes through exams to proceed to the next as quickly as possible. Do not trust him to have your best interest.

Experiencia fantástica: My 16 year old little dog was having very rapidly worsening issues in her mouth and sinuses, and Dr. Andy took her in same day, made me and her both feel calm and safe immediately, and successfully removed a lot of diseased tissue from her mouth and cleared her airways for a bargain of a price! I trust him with the life of my furry family, and I recommend him from the bottom of my heart!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Andy is a Fantastic Vet! He explains every step of the way, tells you what he would do if it were his dog, is very patient. I took my dog in for an emergency on Friday after she ran into a pot chaising my other dog and split open her forehead. Dr. Andy saw me witnin 10 mins, ran a neurological test, and concussion Test. He assured us that she was okay and will be good aside from some pain. He told us to let the cut heal on its own as that's whathe woukd do for his own dog. He offered to suture it if I wanted to but assured me it was not necessary and it would heal quickly and to let it do its thing. My dog is always calm with him and she is doing great! No need to get stitches as it is already healed. Thanks Andy.

Experiencia negativa: I really liked Dr. Andy at first, he seemed smart and very straight forward. I took my dog for emergency care November 2017 after a minor collapse, my pet was treated with pain medication. In June 2018, I took my pet back to Andy due to another collapse. After explaining all symptoms, Dr. suggested to change diet and cut his fur. I was told at that time he could not listen to his heart because my pet was too excited. A month later, my dog went into heart failure. As much as I hate to leave a bad review and I debated this in my head, I feel that my pet was not treated or diagnosed correctly. In addition, I never ever heard again from these people to ask about my dog''s condition. It's just common courtesy and sympathy.

Experiencia negativa: Our family cat was pretty much tortured by Dr. Andy and his staff. We went in for a nail trim & shots and in days our cat could not eat or walk. When going back for treatment he was put on an IV for fluids. Our cat was released to us smelling like urine and in horrific condition to die in pain. I could go on but it hurts too much. Please consider yourself warned and take your pets somewhere else. ***5 years later, being notified by Google this post had been seen over 100 times... I see Dr. Andy's LIE about my cat. He nor his office had EVER seen my cat ever prior. My cat received routine care at John Young Animal Hospital (which I highly recommend) and did not have any medical concerns. Dr. Andy's office was in my neighborhood and I went in for nail care for my cat. I ended up adding routine shots while I was there-BIG MISTAKE. I am sick that a lie was placed on this review by someone who treats our family pets.

Dr Andy giving absolute best care possible to my puppy.This place make us feel like we are family. All the staff are not only nice, friendly but also very professional. They bends over backwards to help me everytime im there Dr. Andy takes his time when we are in. He spend time talking to me, educating me as a first time female dog owner( i only had male dogs before) Highly recommend this Animal hospital.

He made sure to explain everything there was to know about flea preventative as fleas were the problem. She was treated for her skin being irritated due to fleas and we purchased flea prevention. When I first moved here my Brutus got real sick and ended up having to stay overnight which was the best thing for him we moved here from a place where the humidity wasn't so bad and it just got to him and he was dehydrated and had the diarrhea and he was very sick I was very worried about him but dr. Andy assured me he would be fine and he was and I thank him for the good care he gave my dog and the good care that he gave my mom's dog Nicholas we thank the staff also very polite.
