Experiencia fantástica: I was in need of a surgeon to perform an FHO on my cat, so ended up here after lots of internet research. My dad is a retired vet, so I’m pretty picky about my vet care since I compare them all to him. From the moment I called this place I had a positive impression, so scheduled the surgery consult. I was pretty nervous about putting my cat through surgery, as he’s my baby, but Dr. Anne Van Lue put me at ease right away. What an amazing bed-side manner. She came across as very knowledgeable and confident, which immediately made me feel good about leaving him in her hands. And she’s clearly an incredibly kind human too. The surgery was quick and successful, and Squid is already using the leg. Incision site is beautiful. Discharge instructions were super clear. I also found the price to be very reasonable in relation to what most vets charge these days. I cannot recommend this place and Dr. Anne Van Lue enough.

Experiencia fantástica: I took my dog who has been limping here the other week for a surgery consult. I suspected a CCL tear that would require a TPLO due to a phone call with an old vet friend giving their advice on the situation. This old friend suggested to go to a board certified surgeon to perform the surgery if a TPLO was needed. From doing some research and asking local vets this was the place to go. I met Dr. Anne Van Lue for our Australian Shepherds consult appointment. I seriously don’t have the words to express how wonderful she is!! She was attentive, explained everything thoroughly and took her time to make sure I had all my questions answered. I wish all doctors had her “bedside” manner! The entire visit was great - all staff were friendly and it was a clean facility. I expect surgery to go smoothly and for continued great care from the staff based off the first encounter.

Experiencia fantástica: I'd like to start by apologizing for how late I am submitting this review. My chihuahua Pumpkin had her surgery done July of 2022. She had a luxating patella, not a clue what that was prior to having a dog with this condition. Pumpkin was a rescue that came with a lot of surprises. My primary Veterinarian referred me to Dr. Van Lue, and I was quiet impressed by him and all his staff. Not all doctors have the patience to explain everything and make me feel so at ease and not rushed. Pumpkin had a full recovery and her leg is like brand new and you cannot even see the scar. Thank you so much for helping my baby have the best care and quality of life!! Forever grateful!!

Experiencia fantástica: I have to say that my visit with the vet was amazing! He spent the whole hour they assign for each patient. No rush, clear communication and plan of care. He explained that they charge a good price for the visit so they spend enough time with each pet and owner and don’t rush. My visit look 20 minutes and he made sure to stay in the room and chat until the end. He didn’t want to just spend my money repeating X-rays and exams that were not necessary and I appreciate that. Very pleased!

Experiencia fantástica: I am beyond impressed with Van Lue Veterinary Surgical. My 7 year old terrier mix tore her CCL and we were referred by our primary vet. I did extensive research and chose this surgical center. Each staff member is a consummate professional, and Dr. Steve took almost an hour explaining in detail what happened, what our options were, and the cost. On the day of surgery, I dropped my baby off and picked her up in the afternoon. I received a call from Dr. Anne who again, explained in detail what exactly they found, how the procedure was performed, and what to expect. Experiencia fantástica: We were referred to Dr. Stephen Van Lue for our dog Gracie. He explained what was wrong and was keen to help her get back to a normal life. Over several visits he was extremely patient and tried hard to find out what was wrong with her as X-rays did not tell the full story. Ultimately her CCL gave way and he performed a TPLO on her left leg. The surgery appears to have gone exceptionally well and after a week she is starting her long journey back to a full recovery. Experiencia positiva: I paid over 4,000.00 for my dogs Patella Luxation surgery, which is high. The average price should be between 1500.00 and 3,000.00. The practice is housed in a very large building so I’m assuming that has something to do with the amount I paid. Dr. La Rue has a great reputation and I paid dearly for it. Once the follow ups are done I will not return to his practice!

Everyone takes such great care of him over there, and Dr. Van Lue and his staff did an amazing job on Cujo’s tail surgery. I live an hour and a half away in a small town on the east coast and my primary veterinarian wasn’t sure who near us could do this specific surgery and named one local place to look into but I wasn’t impressed with them so I began looking elsewhere and stumbled across Van Lue and was drawn in by their positive reviews, sheer experience, and how they presented themselves on their website with a true caring nature for their patients. My dog is a huge part of our family so I didn’t mind driving the extra miles for care I’m comfortable with and I’m very pleasantly pleased I did. Their facility is beautiful and spotless, I was so impressed by the cleanliness. The entire staff is very friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable as they explained every detail and so much more, and made themselves available to any questions or concerns. They sent me home with folders both times explaining the procedure and his condition as well as very thorough aftercare instructions. My dog ended up having two salivary glands removed and some salivary stones under his tongue, they kept me updated throughout his surgery day which provided me with so much comfort that he was in good hands. He is now running with the wind again and I can’t thank this staff enough for such high-quality care. Can’t recommend this place enough! Pictured is his before and after, he is very proud to be out of the cone and feeling good again.

Experiencia fantástica: We brought in our dog Comet after an exhausting two months of struggling to find a vet that could handle his hernia repair (without overcharging too). I’m so glad I found Van Lue Veterinary Surgical. Everyone was so kind, knowledgeable and empathetic. Comet’s surgery went very well and we are so grateful. Comet is an extremely nervous patient. A lot of vets in the past have assumed that it’s our fault/that he isn’t trained and haven’t wanted to deal with him. It’s made vet appointments very nerve wracking. Experiencia fantástica: I had a wonderful experience here. I went in thoroughly expecting to be pressured into surgery for my elderly dog. Instead, I was greeted with a thorough explanation of his injuries and realistic expectations of the risks/benefits of surgery and the others options available. The doctor spend a long time in the room with me explaining everything in great detail, answering all of my questions, and making me and my dog feel like a priority. I was expecting the cost to be very expensive, but it really wasn't more than a normal vet visit would have been. I highly recommend this place.

Experiencia fantástica: Van Lue has been amazing to our Bernese mountain dogs. They’ve done 3 CCL repairs and a meniscus repair. Dr Van Lue has always made sure to spend quality time answering all of our questions and explaining every detail of what the operations entailed in order to ease our minds. We had a difficult recovery process with one of our dogs and they constantly moved their schedule around and made accommodations to fit us in. Every single staff member has treated our dogs as if they were our own. You can really tell that anybody who works here is a true animal lover. Experiencia fantástica: Brought my dog for a surgical consult for a torn ACL. The staff there went above and beyond to take my dog's films. The doctor took a lot of time to explain the procedure to make sure I was well informed. I was able to plan my dog's surgery without any hesitation in knowing that he will be taken care of properly and will have an excellent outcome.

After weeks of researching, we found what I consider the best in surgical care for our precious girl. She's spoiled to say the least, his team was compassionate and patient, they gave me options I could afford; and when it was time, they called hour by hour to keep me informed. Recently, however, I identified a malignant cancer on my own dog, and I was not comfortable performing the surgical procedure to remove it. For the first time, I was the client on the other side of the examination room, and my experience with Dr. Van Lue and his staff was nothing short of exemplary. Dr. Van Lue has decades of experience and a reassuring, caring demeanor. The facility is very modern and spotlessly clean, and the staff is well trained. I would have the knee surgery 10/10 times with Dr. Van Lue and his incredibly loving staff! 100% best experience possible. Do not even think twice about the non-sense bad reviews from non-customers, just read the doctors response for the finest example of professionalism. Van Lue is extremely professional and has the most revolutionary state-of-the-art remedies available. Our dog went home same day and was very comfortable post-op. She didn’t seem to even notice the surgical site. Dr. Stephen Van Lue met with us for the initial consultation and was extremely thorough, kind, and made us feel very comfortable with our dogs recovery. The day of surgery our dog had a personal concierge or handler who met with us in the morning and again was very thorough and kind. The handler spent the whole day with our dog and made her feel as comfortable as possible. Thank you Dr. Van Lue! We will refer your team 100% of the time!

Experiencia fantástica: My lab mix needed her ACL repaired last year, she's my baby and they treated her as such. She tore the other side, so we are now scheduled for another surgery in Dec. I wouldn't dream of taking her anywhere else.

Experiencia negativa: We were refused for surgery because we asked the receptionist to explain what type of surgery was going needed for my dog. Every time I talked to anyone there they were extremely rude. My dog broke is leg and his vet recommended is to Dr Van Lue for possible surgery. The first time I called the lady told me they would need to take X-rays on his other leg to see how bad it was and after X-rays they would create a treatment plan, she did say that surgery was a high possibility but they would be certain until they did the X-rays I called the next day and talked to Sarah. She put me on hold for about 10 minutes and came back to the line to tell me I had to pay $1700 to schedule surgery for the following day and if I didn’t schedule it right then we were SOL No compassion, no talking, no explanation. Just rude and bitter. Then because we questioned what type of surgery would be done they refused to work with us. Absolutely pitiful

Experiencia negativa: Terrible experience. Just go somewhere else. Our dog hurt his leg on Sunday and went to our vet on Monday. Our vet told us he fractured his leg and we were referred to Van Lue. Tuesday we had xray sent over and we were told that Van Lue wanted to take additional xrays to confirm surgery was needed. We schedule an appt for Fri to get more xrays. We received a call today (Thursday) asking for $1,700.00 deposit for surgery on Friday. $500 was for the exam and xrays. If surgery was not going to be needed then the remaining would be refunded. I asked why I couldn't just pay the $500 for exam and xrays I was told "well he needs surgery" at which point I questioned this and was put on hold. When the girl came back I was told I need to pay the $1,700 to reserve his surgery spot and if I didnt pay it now and reserve his spot then the Dr would refuse the surgery because to much time will have elapsed. I then asked "Well, what is the surgery?" Sarah said. "what do you mean what is the surgery?" I said, is it pins , screws, plates, a cast? Do you want me to look up the definition of surgery for you." She got very offended by this and said she would not allow e to talk to her like that and hung up. I call our vet back and told them what happened. Our vet apologized for what happened from the referral and said what we were told we not normal. Sounds to me a lot like a scam. "have to pay right now or we cant ever do the surgery again." Its only been about 85 hours since he hurt his leg, but has to be done tomorrow or can never be done. Please stay away from this facility. Clearly the only thing that matters to them is money. Update: We went back to the vet 2 weeks later and saw a different surgeon. Puppy had cracked his growth plate not a bone. It’s was Inoperable per new surgeon and had no idea why Van Lue was pushing for a surgery. Puppy stayed off his leg for 4 weeks and made a full recovery. I guess we know now why the desk associate couldn’t tell me what the surgery was going to be. Please get a second opinion before committing with Van Lue. All they want is your money. SMH…..

Experiencia fantástica: It is impossible to know where to begin! While home helping family in Florida, our dog Otis had a sarcoma develop on his paw. We searched all over Orlando for the best surgeon to take care of him! After speaking with Bree, the vet tech, via phone who totally understood our dilemma, being in town only a few months, and not wanting to move slowly as sarcoma spreads quickly. We made an appointment and immediately upon arrival KNEW we were in the right place! The staff was AMAZING! Every single one of them! They were so kind and sweet and treated us and our dog so well. The entire practice exceeded our expectations in every way. Dr. VAN LUE is TOP NOTCH ! He knew exactly what to do, along with his super amazing wife and partner. Together, they make the perfect team. Between both of them caring for our senior dog, we were definitely in the most skilled and advanced surgical hands! I can not express in words how thankful we are that they both understood exactly what we needed and really, truly cared about our situation. The surgery was definitely technical due to the location- digit on paw. This is an outstanding practice in every single way! From the moment you walk through the door, you will understand this. Experiencia fantástica: We really liked the doctor. He took a lot of time on our first visit deciding which method we preferred. My husband is a Professional Engineer, and he had questions, they were answered. My husband had strong opinions on one verses the other. When we picked our dog up after the surgery we were shown before and after xrays, the Dr again explained every thing to us. Vet tech went over recovery instructions and meds. We have two recheck in the weeks ahead. It is a long recovery.
