Positive experience: The vet tech seemed to be uninterested. While trying to weigh my dog, which I admit, being in a new place, he was very active, she decided to say he was 19 lbs. I weighed him prior to coming, and I know he's 32 lbs. She weighed him again and said "oh" . she asked me to put him on the scale again. She had a "matter of fact" uninterested demeanor which I found to be off putting.

Fantastic experience: My dog, Fat Boy Daryl, has extreme anxiety. The staff at Penny Paws bring their gear out to the truck while my wife and I hold him down. They sneak up on him and give him his shots and take blood to check him for heart worms before he realizes whats happening. Without them going the extra mile, I'm not sure what we would do. We tried some years back to take him inside another facility and let's just say it did not go well. They suggested we go somewhere else. LOL. I appreciate their stealthy approach and Ninja-like reflexes. I highly recommend.

Negative experience: Horrible horrible place! They don't care about customers animals at all..they are disrespectful and when you show them the same disrespect they cry wolf.... Do no bring your pet here, pay more $ and go somewhere they actually care.. also don't forget to confirm appointment because they will cancel then tell you that your dog should have went to emergency room even tho that wasn't the ORIGINAL ADVICE GIVEN... Please don't trust them with your pets!

Negative experience: Normally I come here and not have a problem. BUT today I arrived before my 5pm appointment, was out in a room right away. 20 minutes later no doctor no tech, no one. I stepped out to speak with receptionist. She stated that there was an emergency and she would let the doctor know. 20 more minutes passed and still no doctor and no tech. No apologies, nothing. Needless to say, I walked out. Worst customer service I have received from here.

Negative experience: Too expensive. First time going there because my puppy ear infection. They just gave me a tiny bottle of ear drops and cleaned her ears. $233. I also had to call them because they didn’t sent me the bill copy or any proof of what was done.

Positive experience: Experience was great. My dog seemed less stress with other dogs around. I like the setup and it was very organized.
Fantastic experience: The fact you can make an appointment at their mobile clinics was already a perk, but the team I saw today was SO friendly and patient with my anxious 46 lb dog. My dog has bad anxiety and due to bad past experiences, she’s extra anxious now when getting shots. Usually we can’t pick her up or get her to hold still enough for a heartworm tests but the staff did so well with her despite her efforts to flail around. The gentleman who helped calm her down and helped with the entire process was very friendly and made an effort to slowly get to know my dog and have her get comfortable with him before starting the process and that makes a big difference. I wish I got his name, but he was helping out this morning (9/21) at the Pet Suites location in Lewisville, TX. Maybe someone will know who I am talking about and give him some recognition. The whole team there was great ! I’ll continue to visit Penny Paws in the future for my animals now ❤️

Negative experience: this organization as a whole is beyond awful...... it does not matter which location you call the people at the front desk WILL NOT answer the phone(i tested this last week while i was parked outside the clinic and was on hold, watched the girls at the desk who were doing NOTHING and refused to answer) which is the reason i got pissed off and drove to clinic.... you CANNOT just walk in for any issue your MUST have an appt, even if there is nobody waiting they REFUSE to see you? there is NO COMMON SENSE what so ever in the facility!!!! then when you see a vet and complain about legit issues he/she will tell you they cannot do anything about it because they are a contractor and have no input mobile clinics are a joke because the vet at them can do nothing except sign off on a vaccine, CANNOT do any other vet work talk about a waste of a skilled resource it blows me away..... if you need noting more than a vaccine then by all means head to the clinic, otherwise i would find a REAL VET OFFICE who has a priority of animal care and not corporate dictation!!!

Negative experience: Horrible.mis information from vets and techs among other things. Take your loved pet elsewhere, not here. They killed our beloved dog and vet tech looked like she been hitting the ketamine cabinet

Negative experience: I left my name and email address on their website contact page so they could reply to my simple question about the cost of fixing a cat. NOBODY replied after a couple of days, so I left another message. STILL NO REPLY. So I called them today, and no matter which option you choose, can't speak to anyone about pricing. It took 10-15 minutes for a lady to FIND someone to answer my questions, only to learn - after all this - that their cost is more than a new car payment! So now I see why they are called "Penny Paws" because all you have left after paying them is... pennies. NEVER will I take a cat or dog to them for anything.

Negative experience: This place obviously has incompetent people working here. Very rude, unprofessional and they lied to my husband about the puppy shots they gave my new puppy. The individual was instructed not to give my puppy a Lepto shot and apparently this individual still gave it to my puppy and lied to my husband and said they would not give it to my puppy.
Negative experience: I just called and the receptionist seemed very confused on the prices and process for a new dog. Advised me there would be a 70 dollar deposit, but that it was up to the doctor on what they did with the money? I simply wanted information and prices on vaccines and she seemed very confused. However, I did call the Arlington location before and they were very informative and confident in their responses. The only reason i called this location is for an earlier appointment.

Fantastic experience: I’ve taken my chihuahua, Hunter, here since he was a pup. Great service, everyone is super friendly and helpful. It is quite pricey for appointments but it’s worth it to ensure your pup is seen and treated by the best vet around! (Hunter is now 3 years old)

Fantastic experience: Our dog recently passed away. I walked in the clinic and they immediately assisted us. Dakota, Krista and Makayla Set us up in a room to have our last moment with him. Front staff Selena and Jennifer were very sympathetic, sweet and supportive in making the cremation selection easy. I’ve never experienced the loss of a pet before. Positive experience: The med staff was great! Only reason we're coming back because if it had been for the ladies at the front desk, well…I was done, waiting to pay, and someone was checking out on one side, another lady behind the desk was there she went to the other desk soi moved my stuff to that counter, she walked away, I went back to the other one when the one lady was finished with all my stuff and then the other lady from desk 2 said oh I'll check you out over here. Had to go back. All my stuff, both desks were open but it seemed like only one actual transaction could be made at a time? I don't know, and if it is or is not the case it would have been nice to finish my entire transaction before walking away. I needed to make another appt but the other lady already had someone else and the lady I had walked to the back after taking my payment. Needless to say I didn't make the next appt, my cat was in a back pack in a strange place I needed to get her home.

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing! We recently moved here and needed to find a vet for our American Bully. The staff was so attentive and actually took time with me and our boy. Judah had a double ear infection and his allergies have been acting up so bad since we moved to Texas. The vet explained everything in detail to me and was very patient with him even though he can be a little hyper. She sent Judah home on 3 different medications and since then he has been feeling so much better. You can tell she takes pride in her job and so does the other staff. We will definitely be making this place our new veterinarian office!

Negative experience: It's strange but they won't pick up the phone! This is during REGULAR business hours. I've tried the 2 numbers available. Anytime I have tried to call, there is always a problem. Once, they picked up the phone and hung up on me. A different time, they picked up the phone and placed me on hold until I hung up. Mostly, there is no answer and you're stuck listening to a recording. I called a different location and was told that they too have trouble getting through by phone at this location. I do not recommend this place. They should put "WE DO NOT ANSWER CALLS" somewhere on their business page to warn people. LASTLY - Please look at other 1 star reviews with the SAME COMPLAINT! This issue has been going on for a very long time and I am not the only person. HEED THE WARNING!!

Highlights: - *NO COMMUNICATION OF APPOINTMENT CANCELLATIONS* over any medium when cancellation is due to customer's failure to respond to appointment confirmation call/text. - *MUST MAKE A DEPOSIT OR RESPOND BEFORE 4PM THE DAY PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT* to prevent it from being canceled. - *NO VOICE MAIL LEFT FROM BUSINESS FOR CALLS THAT COULD RESULT IN APPOINTMENT CANCELLATIONS* if there is no response. - *EXAM FEE REQUIRED* at this location -- no vaccine-only option like at the mobile clinics. I only found out AFTER putting down my non-refundable deposit that I would be expected to pay for both an exam fee and the vaccines. Didn't see anything about this during the booking process. Management was professional and nice enough, yet I received no refund, no credit, and no discount for an ordeal that caused me to miss a full day of work and pay, make 2 round trips from home to this clinic, and get a flat tire that caused me to be 7 minutes late to my 2nd appointment of the day (I was over 10 minutes early to my 1st appointment, which was canceled without my consent and without an attempt to notify me of the cancellation aside from a missed call that left no voice message), all of which management was fully aware of when the decision to make zero exceptions was made. I felt that myself and my pet were uncared for at best and swindled at worst, so I took my business elsewhere and did not pay additional fees to get my pet vaccinated. Communication about appointment procedures and expectations AT THE TIME OF BOOKING is sorely lacking. When I made my appointment online, there was no (noticeable) option to put down a deposit to reserve my time slot. There was no (noticeable) warning that without a deposit, I would have to call ahead or respond to a text message the day before my appointment by 4pm to prevent my appointment from being canceled. Had I known this, I would have paid the deposit at the time of booking and/or marked my calendar the day before my appointment to make sure I confirmed on time. People have busy lives and many spam texts coming in these days, so it is nice to give them a heads up to expect a text if their appointment could be canceled based on their response or lack thereof. What's worse, I DID see the text message on time, but due to grammatical ambiguity in the text, I thought a response was only mandatory to CANCEL the appointment, but confirming over text was optional. This is the way many doctor's offices send appointment reminders and I have never had one canceled due to failure to respond to these "Please confirm" texts. The grammar needs to be fixed ASAP. For reference, the text reads: "Reply YES to confirm or NO to cancel by 4pm." The morning of my appointment, I missed a call from an unknown number that left no voice message to identify the caller or reason for the call. Turns out, this was the clinic calling to see if I was still coming to the appointment. If they had left a message, I would have called back immediately to confirm. Or, if at the time of booking, there was a phone number provided for me to save in my contacts and expect a call from, I would have picked up right away. It's extremely frustrating that despite the text and call to confirm whether I was still coming to the appointment, I was given zero notification via any medium that my appointment had been canceled. How hard would it be to create an automated text that notifies customers of cancellations? I'm sure I am not the first person who has taken time off of work and lost pay, wrangled their pet into a carrier, maybe even driven 20+ minutes to and from the clinic, only to find out when they walked through the door that their appointment had been canceled. In this day and age, that's absolutely unacceptable and completely inconsiderate of the customer's time. If this process is not fixed, I am sure I won't be the last person this happens to.

Thank you for your review. I apologize for the misunderstanding with in the cancellation policy. While the online booking system does not let you make the deposit (at this time, but it is being updated soon!) the cancellation policy is clearly stated in our online booking platform at the end of making the appointment, and it is also on our website under our clinic page, posted in our lobby, and the text as well goes out for conformation.
This of course, is different for the mobile as that is a walk up clinic that is outside, not appointment based or seeing the doctor for an appointment. I hope the clarifies any confusion, feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Negative experience: They don't answer the phone and have weird customer service. By weird I mean long holds, rude interactions, and will hang up on you. I found a location in a better location that's cleaner with cheaper prices for my pet set vaccination. Please search dallas urgent animal center. They're so much better and cares about your pet opposed to this location. Also, this location gave me free flea, heart worm and parasite pill due to me waiting. That customer service should be applauded not penny paws mediocre over priced services.
Fantastic experience: The staff and doctors were very warm and welcoming, made me feel real comfortable with the care they were giving to my fur baby.
Fantastic experience: This was our first visit. Our vet we used to go to started getting weird. I have to admit I hate the whole schedule thing, but the staff is very friendly. Dr. Hayes and the vet tech were so sweet to Baby Bear. I look forward to doing business with them in the future. He took the time to show me the x-ray and explain what I was looking at. Negative experience: Terrible discrimination front desk refused heart worm prevention to my puppy litter because she is on a power trip. Their chain of command sees it allows it cover it up and mocks my discrimination complaints. Fortunately elsewhere rabies vaccines are only $5, microchips only $5, and free stays and neutering. It pays to shop around. Elsewhere also genuinely care about all pets health including vaccinations and heartworm prevention.

Fantastic experience: Went there for the anual vaccines and rabies, the mobile clinic was well organized and the process was quick and easy for the dogs, price is fair specially if you have more than one flurry friend!
Negative experience: Update…I stopped going here after visits started being hours of waiting in the exam rooms and being felt like I was forgotten. I was once actually told they forgot about us. Very pleasant experience. Vets were very caring and interested in getting to know my dog as well as make him feel comfortable. Will definitely be returning.

Positive experience: My appointment was at 9:00 am I got there early a couple of other peoples came after me about 10 to 15 minutes after me. Another dog was called before my dog. The young ask what happened to calling Baylee? The worker didn't say anything and took the other dog. The young lady asked me was it ok if she give Baylee his shot in open area everybody else was at. I said okay but I wasn't okay with it I was very unhappy with the situation

Fantastic experience: My first time here; unlike alot of places here I got to hold my dog while he got a shot instead of him being scared and having being held down by strangers and the vets having put a muzzle on him. This place is affordable and the staff was nice. Check em out if in the area!

Negative experience: If you go to this location avoid care from Dr. Hayes. I started bringing my two dogs to this location December 2023 had a total of 3 visits spent $1,200 which is not this issue I have no problems spending money to have quality care for my pets. However your money is better spent at a care provider who listens to their paying customers and does not speak to them as if they are dumb or under them in a condescending manner. DFW has thousand of vets if you don’t want my business someone else will. My dog went in on January 24th he was given his annual vaccines 3-4 vaccines and treated for an ear infection, by January 29th my dog was experiencing vomiting and diarrhea. Like the bottle states if experiencing side effects stop use and contact vet. We did this, Dr. Hayes contacts me and immediately began dismissing my concerns talking over not listening to anything I’m saying and insisting this is an entirely new issue and I must bring the dog in for blood work and a full work up. Which if that is absolutely needed of course he would be there instantly, however my college educated sensible logical brain says well all this can not be a coincidence. I simply was asking COULD this be adverse reaction to vaccines and or medications given bravecto & ear ointment. This provider continued to talk in the most condescending manner going on about how topical ointments work and unless the dog ate the bottle of medicine then it’s simply impossible for this reaction to be the cause of meds or vaccines. He would not let me get a word in edge wise I was cut off and intimately after I told him he will not speak to me in the way he was, I was hung up on. The most unprofessional interaction I’ve ever experienced. My dog already has another appointment elsewhere to get to the bottom of this. Maybe just choose a different location otherwise the other staff members were so incredibly nice and helpful.

Negative experience: BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Went on Saturday 1/6/23 and was told previously on phone I can get my 2 pets the flea pill and I arrive and after a 15 min wait the lady tells me after having mine and pets info in front of her that pets have to be present to get their weight since hadnt been a while. I arrive later after having to go home and pick up pets and come back to be told by the same lady that I cant purchase the pills because they need to be up to date on shots. All of that could of been avoided if either the person on the phone or same lady that saw me and my pets info 2 TIMES IN FRONT OF HER could of told me that from the beginning. LACK OF INFORMATION and LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY & BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE at this location. Lady did not even Apologize for not informing me of this sooner!!! If I would of known sooner I could of waited to get all that's needed for another visit! WASTE OF TIME AND NOT COMING BACK TO PENNY PAWS AGAIN!!!

Unfortunately, due to your pets not being seen for more than a year, to sell any prevention, the pets would have to be present to get an accurate weight since the medication goes by weight. Positive experience: Skylar, is doing better, I hate when you say something it doesn't matter, I told the young lady, I don't like her to be tested for Heartworm, cause it always come back Negative. And we still have to pay for that. I asked them to just give me the off brand. Cause that's what she was on it before, but no, the tests are pretty pricey. I hope I don't have to redo the test again when she needs a Refill.

Fantastic experience: I have liked Penny Paws ever since I found them 3 years ago. I have 3 Border Collies so I initially went because of their lower prices which seems to usually mean less service but boy was I surprised! The staff is wonderful, they are so caring with my dogs and the prices are great! I go to them at least 3 times a year and each time I leave feeling good about having taken my dogs there! My pocket book feels good too!

Positive experience: I have a miniature pincher & they are a handful always so at a veterinary clinic is even worse...but the doc (DR.Hayes) is awesome... so sweet to her ..he listens & tries to be friends with her to calm her then he does his check on her...I have no complaints ❣

Fantastic experience: Penny paws had to give my puppy vaccines. It was our first time and they welcomed my puppy and I had made her feel really comfortable with them. The only thing I didn’t like was that the location where I went didn’t offer grooming, but other than that everything was great!!

Negative experience: Ok I went to penny paws clinic in Grand Prairie. Unfortunately they stopped mobile vets apparently so I had to go to the clinic. I went early in the morning and was told that I needed to make an appointment because the kitten I found was sick and needed attention. I came to the 2:00 appointment but was late due to an accident off Beltline and 161 frontage which made me late 7 minutes. I understand but some things can’t be avoidable. Well they told me since I was late that I had to pay a $13 late fee on top of a $250 vet bill. Crazy I say. Thank you and God bless

Fantastic experience: Visited Penny Paws for the first time for a vaccination. Customer service was great and we were in and out in 20 minutes. The waiting room was clean and spacious. The techs were very knowledgeable about the vaccines and helped me determine what was right for my dog.

Its ironic that your response to Cindy's negative, but accurate, review - was that she should call your clinic to discuss the review. Negative experience: Customer service is horrible. I have been coming here for 14 yrs since my fur baby was a pup. I have always been told there is a 15 minute grace period. Well today I needed to exercise the grace period and was told not only that they couldn’t see my dog but the grace period was conditional. So now I’m out of $44 for a visit that didn’t happen even those I was there within their time communicated. How do you change your rules at will but when I have to wait for my appointment ( which is usually 15-30 min) before seen I’m not given any restitution? Such hypocrisy. Find a new vet. Don’t come here if you value honest service. I don’t know what it is with this new bunch of employees at the Grand Prairie location.

Fantastic experience: Actually diagnosed my cat. My cat has been having recurring skin problems and I’ve been to more expensive vets and she just kept looking worse and worse and the vet here was able to diagnose her within 10 minutes and it was much more affordable than anywhere else I’ve been. Fantastic experience: I just want to say thank you to Dr. Wehrfritz. I truly appreciate the care that she gave to Zoe yesterday and the consideration she gave to me, a concerned "mom". She explained and answered my questions and to showed me Zoe's x-rays, and she tried to help me understand what was going on with my baby. THAT is the way healthCARE should be for everyone. Negative experience: Very disappointed in the communication and competence of some of the staff. We took our dog and his records early and were told he was good to go. He wasn’t and it went downhill from there. Sadly our boy was isolated and we weren’t even made aware of this. We were told our dog had Giardia by someone who couldn’t even explain it. We had no idea what it was. The paperwork for the test says it was for a 6yr old German Shepherd and our dog is mixed breed with no German Shepherd resemblance at all. Now I wonder if it was even the right test results for the our dog. I do not recommend leaving your pets here. It was a traumatic experience for us and him. He had 2 hotspots when we picked him up and they said nothing about it. When I called they said they did not notice because they couldn’t touch him. Yet he had been given a bath and his nails were trimmed (without touching him???) This was also when I learned he wasn’t only in isolation but could not be touched while he was there!!! I can’t believe I was not informed he was neglected of pets and affection for that long. I waited until I spoke to the clinic manager to make a review but she in the end she made excuses. I am not say she wasn’t apologetic but I really don’t need every mistake excused because people are not trained well or rude. I hate even giving them a star. I am sure they will come back with blame or excuses for this so don’t be surprised. Fortunately after our baby is snapping out of the funk he was in and getting back to the happy doggie he has always been.

Thank you for expressing your concerns with us again. The disappointment with your experience is certainly not ideal. I hope I was better able to explain our limited ability to change parameters for the forms submitted to the third party company that completes some of our testing. They have limited specification options as well as their own rounding of D.O.B's.
For Bandit, unfortunately, due to the contagious nature of Giardia, he did have to have his own separate care and protocols, to ensure that nothing spread to other pets or people. He most certainly had interaction during his stay, including the requested bath that we compensated before his departure. This was also done in a private area for him. I am glad to hear Bandit is getting out of his funk after the medical treatment he had to have during his stay for the Giardia. I again, sincerely apologize for your less than ideal experience, and feel free to reach out to me if you have any additional concerns.

Negative experience: I am livid for how my mom was treated and how her dog was treated. I've worked at 3 boarding facilities and you make sure you inform them of all the tests, vaccines, etc that they need to have in order to board. Yall told them they were good then called them on their trip and your receptionist gaslighted them over it. Not only that, this receptionist misguided them on what he tested positive for (I had to decode what my mom was trying to say yall used the wrong word), yall told her "Well you can go anywhere" and HUNG UP ON HER. Not only that but you let our sweet boy sit with three hot spots, didn't inform my parents, and you didn't treat them or give him a cone to prevent chewing. Yall said you couldn't touch him because he's contagious but yall bathed and clipped his nails? And when my mom wanted info on the parasite and yall say "Idk" not let me get you in touch with our vet. We tried our best to inform customers about their babies. People don't know what this stuff is. Don't be rude when people want to know what a medicine is for or what the heck you just said they had. Yall need to keep owners updated with more than just "you owe us hundreds of more dollars". They came back to so many issues and he's lost weight and hair. This was so unprofessional. Educate and be kind to your customers. Please don't let dogs sit with wounds and inform owners of everything!
Negative experience: It’s impossible to get an appointment when your dog is hurt unless you want to wait two weeks and let your baby suffer. If you take that appointment, you have to pay a nonrefundable deposit, which means if you can find another vet to get them in sooner, they still have your money. I’m not sure these are animal lovers.

Negative experience: I am giving the lowest rate because even though the doctor is kind. The receptionists are really mean/no efficient. It has happen several times. When I call they answer my call and then hang up when I start talking. I tried calling several more times and they just let me waiting and hang up after a while. I have been calling since 9am so I don’t think they are in lunch break or anything.
