Negative experience: I took my dog here for a first appointment just to get his annual vaccines and get some cream for his skin allergy. This is the 3rd clinic we have tried for our big dog. Our last clinic closed and moved to Ferris without warning. I figured we would pay about $300 at the most. The tech took my dog back and within a few minutes came back in the room, without my dog, to bring me an estimate of $1309!!!! My dog did not come in for surgery, serious injuries or illness, just vaccines (3), and 3 hotspots from allergies! I had told the tech that my dog was not on flea/tick prevention or heart worm prevention and that he was 9 years old and was very sensitive to those particular medications, so we had stopped administering them 3 years ago. After I reviewed her list and removed all unnecessary items, my bill came out to $357. My dog received 3 vaccines, an allergy medication, an allergy spray, and an antibiotic (which he is no longer taking because the medication made him extremely sick). The allergy pill alone was $135, we will just use Benadryl once he has completed this pill. I think they must be trying to recoup some of the cost of their weekend discount vaccines they offer at various locations to anyone not a client. I will not be returning to this clinic.

Fantastic experience: Our first in clinic experience was great! Willow is a brindle American pit and can sometimes be a lot when it comes to new people. I don't know her back story but I have had her for almost 3 years now. I was so nervous because her paw was causing her a lot of discomfort but you guys handled her with care and got her paw feeling 100% better. You all were very transparent about procedures/next steps and pricing but also getting us on the schedule asap! Thank you again. We also loved the mobile clinic for quick shots!

Fantastic experience: I have a stranger adverse pet who had bit a delivery driver and needed to come in for verification that they had no rabies and to receive an updated rabies shot and they did awesome with my crazy little guy. He ended up actually liking one of them at the end and they even let us pay in the room so we didn't have to stop with his crazy self again in the front. Definitely recommend this place if you're also needing an affordable option.

Fantastic experience: Much appreciation to the young man who patiently worked with my Mia to clip her nails. She's not an easy client when it comes to getting her paws touched. However with his patience (and a muzzle) he was able to get the task done! Also in these cooler temperatures, I hope you bring the techs inside. We're only cold and uncomfortable for a small period, while they are out there for hours.

Negative experience: If you use Penny Paws Veterinary clinics. This is how you can expect to be treated. This location is in Arlington Texas. I took Cash in yesterday for a limp. They shot him up with pain meds. Afterwords he did not feel well throughout the night. We called the vet. After being passed around we told them he couldn’t keep anything down including the medication they sent home with he keeps projectile throwing up, pissing almost brown. a tech said we would have to take him to an emergency vet. So I asked you are open why can’t you see him. I was told they are booked up. After telling them how rediculaus that was. I said that’s fine I will just come and wait. Surely they would get a minute between visits. They then informed me they would call the police if I came up there. So I said okay I will see you shortly. Have a great day! I spent more than 30 minutes there. With not one single appointment coming in. Long story short they just want the quick money! They don’t care about customer service or your animals! I do give Arlington PD credit for being very professional! As of 11/30/2025. Penny Paws has still not emailed all of a My animal records. They told the police yesterday. All my records would be emailed to me. As I am no longer using there facility. They did however find time to make excuses for my negative review. When I came to there facility. It was to wait for a chance to be seen. If telling them the truth about their lack of action. For a dog that they made sick. Without giving one suggestion other than go to another veterinary facility. Is being harsh then maybe. They should treat their patients better. To reply to Penny Paws Statement. I brought Cash in because my wife and I noticed him to have a limp off and on for a week. As he is an 88 pound bully who plays hard. We thought he might of just sprained his leg. When this didn’t go away in a week. I took him in for evaluation. The reason we did not opt to get the radiographic imaging. Is because the veterinarian said it would not change his treatment. So we opted to put him on the medication plan she proscribed. This was to be for a two week period in which he would return to see what the next step would be. If it hand not healed.

Cash was evaluated on November 28th for a two-week history of limping. At that time, you declined radiographs and opted solely for pain medication. We attempted to explain our appointment-based system and that the earliest available slot for a full workup for Cash, given the recent onset of his symptoms, was November 30th at 8:00 AM. Consequently, we advised seeking care at an urgent care facility or emergency room for more immediate attention. We were unable to convey that if you chose not to proceed with our initial recommendations, we could have consulted with the attending veterinarian to explore additional prescriptive options for his symptoms. Unfortunately, you did not allow our team members to communicate effectively over the phone. Upon your arrival at our clinic, your conduct towards our staff was verbally abusive and disrespectful, behavior which we do not condone. We trust you will locate a clinic that better aligns with your needs.

Negative experience: If I could give zero I would. My dad brought in our pit who has a small limp. They gave him meds and an X-ray and damn sure took all our money. That night he started throwing up and can’t keep any food or water down. They refused to see him again after THEY MADE HIM SICK! Then said “take him to an er” lmao you made him sick you should fix it! Then called the cops on my dad because he cares about his babies and wants his dog to be able to drink at the least. They had no customers but refused to see our dog and dropped my dad as a customer. Keep in mind thousands and thousands have been spent over the years on our many dogs. Disgusting behavior and they should be ashamed. How do you act like you care about animals then refuse to fix a problem you created. Cause they don’t care about animals they care about money!!

Positive experience: I scheduled my first grooming appointment for my puppy this past Friday and I had a very negative encounter with Tammy the groomer, who was very rude and unprofessional. I was able to share my experience with James the assistant manager, and he was also able to contact Tonya, who is the manager and they made it right and gave me excellent customer service. I was able to have my dog groomed by Rochelle who did a great job during our consultation explaining how to properly care for my dog's hair. Rochelle and James were very patient and kind and explained everything to me, as well as were very loving and kind toward my dog, and I appreciate their kindness and customer service and making it right by turning my negative experience a positive one.

They’ve managed to strike a balance that you rarely see with veterinarians. On one hand, they run affordable neighborhood clinics that make it possible for folks to catch up on shots, basic checkups, and preventive care without overspending. Those outdoor tent setups are nothing fancy but they get the job done, and for a lot of pet owners it’s the difference between keeping up with care or putting it off. That accessibility alone makes them stand out. At the same time, this is not just a discount setup. The full practice is clean, well managed, and run by people who clearly know what they’re doing. When something more serious comes up, you can step inside and get real veterinarian support without skipping a beat. That flexibility is why I keep coming back. Fantastic experience: I needed to get my dog in for her annual vaccinations, after doing an enduring online search. I came across Penny Paws located on Turner Warnell Road. I had a wonderful experience with their staff (Mercedes and Brandon) they were so professional (explained everything and answered all of my questions), which put me at ease. They were very knowledgeable about my overly anxious Morkie. They made it so effortless to provide the shots that she needed. They handled her needs and were very experienced and patient with her. Negative experience: My pet was barely touched for the initial visit. Did not check the paws, ears, feel for lipomas. This is common practice for a general exam. I've been to 5 different vets in the past few years and I have never seen such a lazy general exam. I was out the door in less than 15 mins and it cost me $70. I'll be looking for a Vet with the proper training and experience.

Negative experience: I would not recomend the penny paws vet clinic in Arlington on Turner Warnell. I have used them 2.5 years with difficulty in their buisiness practices and now will go somewhere else. 1. They gave my young dog shots that he had just got. Then refunded me when i explained they had already given those shots on a previous visit and he was not due those again. Then they denied giving him those shots. 2. Same dog was tested for heartworm to get on heartworm pills. For many years thru different vets you get to buy 1 year of heartworm pills, at negative test time. From anybody you want, including online. I buy them in 6 month doses always, no problem. After 6 mo i went into penny paws to buy the 2nd 6mo box of pills, they tell me they wont sell them to me unless i bring the dog in for a $ 70 VET EXAM ! They would honor the 1 year prescription if i wanted to buy them somewhere else. WHAT KIND OF LOGIC AND BUISINESS PRACTICE IS THAT ? No other vet i have used does this ! 3. Took dog to their walk in shots clinic. Called before leaving. They told me they were open till 4 for shots clinic. Got there at 315, had difficulty getting dog to go in, he is large, went in door at 335, they refused service stating they dont take people that late. I was the only one in the lobby. Good luck to anyone that uses them, but i DO NOT recomend them and there is nothing penny about their fees. Its clear to me they care only about the $$$.

Fantastic experience: Everything was great. We had a 2:00 appt and was taken back immediately when arrived. Tech came in and took vitals and spoke about issues. Doctor came in within 5 minutes and examined my dog. They put a treatment plan together and discussed with me each item. Left the decision up to me if I wanted to proceed with all or part of the plan. Completed X-rays to ease my mind, nothing showed, sent us home with meds. Out of there by 2:45. Great Experience!! Very relieved my baby is okay.

Negative experience: Unable to get through people, especially the manager talking to you like you are 10 yrs old. No customer service! Not allowed to come back. Not losing much since either Nema or I established a relationship with the vet since every time we went there were different vets or front desk. Maybe it's not a happy place to work for. None of my friends go to Penny Paws I am sure I will find another vet that will care for my dog.

Negative experience: Awful experience just trying to schedule an emergency visit for my dog. My appointments were cancelled twice due to the scheduler not paying attention and informing me that the slots were already filled although it was confirmed that BOTH times were available at the time. They severely lack accountability because they told me they were unsure who would have told me the times were available in the first place. I would not recommend this clinic for the sole purpose that scheduling an appointment is incredibly difficult due to insubordination.

Negative experience: I've been going to Penny paws for quite some time, (RichlandHills location is the best) but THIS location was awful. The staff member that answered the phone will try to make you feel awful. I will NEVER go to this location. No customer service skills whatsoever, no decorum, no sympathy. And when I asked a question, you proceeded to say " you may want to go somewhere else because we are very pricey." Cow! I didn't ask you about pricing AT ALL! Negative experience: Where they are more interested in your money and trying to guilt you when you can't give them $1000+ than helping your animal. Update: for $70 consult fee my cat was weighed and I was allowed to sign refusal of treatment. Which I was willing to do labs but because I wasn't willing to do $1000 they didn't want to do anything. They also wanted to put my cat down, she's doing great now all she needed was antibiotics. I'm glad that I didn't opt for that. Dr didn't even examine my cat by doing a physical exam.

Negative experience: I am beyond furious with Penny Paws Animal Clinic. I scheduled a drop-off for my dog TODAY, January 10th, Friday, and paid $416 in advance. Imagine my shock and outrage when I arrived to find the place CLOSED with absolutely no warning, no call, no email, not even a simple text. NOTHING. This is completely unacceptable, especially since I planned this drop-off ahead of time to ensure my dog was cared for before catching a flight. Not only is this a complete failure of communication, but it also shows a total disregard for your clients and their time. How do you justify being closed on a day your hours clearly state you’re supposed to be open? And worse, why did you take my payment and then completely disappear? This is not just inconvenient—it’s unprofessional and disrespectful. I had to scramble at the last minute to find alternative care for my dog, and the stress it caused me was unbelievable. If you can’t be reliable, why even operate a business that people depend on for their pets’ welfare? This was not a minor oversight. This was a complete failure of basic professionalism. I will be demanding a full refund, and I will never trust this place again. Save yourself the frustration and find a clinic that actually cares about its clients. Penny Paws has shown they’re unworthy of the trust we place in them as pet owners. Avoid this place at all costs.

Fantastic experience: Brought my cat for his yearly vaccines. Everyone was super nice. I was given a pager to waiting in the car. As soon as it went off I was escorted to a room. My kitties got his vaccines and we were out in 15 minutes. I will definitely come back.

Negative experience: this clinic is absolutely horrible. besides their low cost vaccine mobile clinics the primary care clinic is a joke. you are able to schedule appointments online which is really helpful until this morning i had an appointment for my kitty charlie and they called me telling me they don’t know how i was able to make an appointment (despite having 20+ appointments online) and i would not be seen. i had to beg for an appointment then they magically found an appointment told me they would see me at 11 but needed an $85 deposit due to it being an “emergency” with the vet tech being very passive aggressive. these vet techs have absolutely no compassion or empathy. when my dog lady was not doing well and suffering they barley took the time to look at her and then wanted $300 to put her down. again no compassion, sympathy, or empathy for us losing our loved one. this has happened multiple times and i will always be a voice for my babies since they can’t speak for themselves. these individuals will talk down to you, make you feel like you’re not a good enough pet parent, and your sick pet is your problem and not their priority but then ask you if it’s cash or card to save your babies life. DO NOT COME HERE.

Negative experience: I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Penny Paws Arlington. My 5 1/2 lb puppy was scheduled to be spayed today, but I received a message stating they couldn’t keep her under anesthesia. How can an animal hospital be unable to perform a routine procedure on a small dog? This raises serious concerns about the staff’s efficiency and qualifications. Prior to this, it already took two people to draw blood from my puppy, which was unsettling. After speaking with the veterinarian who attempted the procedure, I learned that they are not equipped with all the necessary surgical tools for small dogs and that this issue sometimes occurs with other small dogs as well. This explanation only confirmed my decision to never return. They have lost my trust and my business. I will also warn my friends to avoid this facility unless it’s for basic vaccinations—which, ironically, they administer outside. Today’s experience was both frustrating and disheartening, and I expected far better care for my pet.

Positive experience: Friendly staff overall but probably will not be returning. Misdiagnosed my dog after charging me for urine, blood test, and X-ray and suggested I look for a place that would do an ultrasound... Was not appointed one nor was I prescribed antibiotics at the very least. I ended up having to pay for a second checkup at another place where I was able to get an ultrasound and antibiotics.

Negative experience: Staff is great but apparently the white lady vet with short hair can’t do math though wasted my time and money just for the prescription to be incorrect called and tried to tell her and she told me I was wrong even the other staff agreed with me smh my pet had to travel for the first time without any medication to relax her and it was a nightmare i contemplated trying to get my money back but im just going to find a new vet and be grateful things weren’t worse than it could’ve been…getting prescriptions wrong is dangerous so wanted to warn here.

Negative experience: Attention bulldog parents! My boyfriend and I recently took our 3 1/2 year old French Bulldog to Penny Paws for surgery on his left cherry eye. We had this procedure done back in 2021 on the right eye at the same location and all had gone smoothly. That was not the case this time. Our dog went in for his procedure after being seen at Penny Paws two times before and one was completely pointless because the surgeon was out of the office and was unable to even give us a consult. After the procedure had been performed, his left eye looked as it did before surgery. At his first follow up we were informed he had a different procedure this go round as the initial procedure on his left eye was “no longer best practice”. We were never informed the procedure was going to be different and we were also informed that it may look the same initially but it will take a month to look “normal”. I have held off my review, however, it has now been longer than a month and his eye looks the same as it did before the $1000 surgery. I highly recommend seeking elsewhere for this procedure.

Negative experience: Been a customer here for a while, but unfortunately I will NOT take my dogs back here anymore. I have a senior dog so I made an appointment with Penny Paws on Saturday. The veterinarian came in and I explained to her what happened. She highly recommended that we do an X-ray scan so she did the scan and showed me that he has an enlarged heart and that he possibly has fluid around the heart. She told us that they are going to forward the scan to a radiologist to see if anything else is wrong. For now they prescribed me 3 pills that I need to give him. 1 for his heart, 2 for his hacking/coughing (which he does a lot) and 3 for him to breath more better to get rid of the fluid in his stomach since his breathing is not normal. Got a call on Monday from the vet saying that I need to stop giving him the pill for the fluid and that I need to take him to the ER. The technician even said on the phone that the veterinarian is not comfortable with giving me a new prescription and telling me the next steps on what to do with this situation. THAT VETERINARIAN SHOULD NOT WORK THERE IF THAT’S THE CASE, HIRE A NEW VET!!! I spend $600 for this appointment for them to tell me that we need to stop giving him 1 of his pills which I only had for a day. What I don’t understand is why even prescribe me the pills in the first place, and just by looking at the x ray to recommend that I take him to an ER!!! Do not take your animals here because all they want is your money, and that they will send you to another vet hospital. I called for a refund for one of the prescriptions and the receptionist told me that she will leave a note for the veterinarian and management about my request, I doubt I’ll get a refund so here is your honest review.

Fantastic experience: We have a very timid, nervous little rescue pup that we adore. The last few years we've gone to the vet's office, where we'd have to wait for over an hour for our appointment while she trembled and drooled out of anxiety. We searched for an alternative and we are so glad we did. The ease and speed with which we got her vaccinated last Saturday at Penny Paws was an enormous relief. Thank you!!

Negative experience: Typical Medicaid clinic. Long lines, booked up all the time. Made an appointment for my dog. Choose the right appointment online, they called took $65 deposit to confirm my appointment only to call me the next day to cancel my appointment because they were "booked" and someone on their side put my appointment in as a vaccine and not sickness. Then was told to go to the ER for UTI symptoms because they may not be able to treat my dog there. Sounds useless to me. $65 will be returned to my card in 3/5, business days . Save your time snd money. Go to a real vet

Negative experience: I love Dr. Dost at the Richland Hills location and I have never had any issues there. Today, however at the Mansfield location at the mobile clinic I was not very happy with how my fur baby was treated or how I was treated. I had an appointment and when I arrived, noone else was there. I was required to pick my 32 lb. fur baby up and put him on the table (not the tech). I have back problems but, okay. Then, I'm having to hold him down ( or I should say wrestle) while the tech just stands there petting his face? Shouldn't I have been the one in front of his face trying to calm him down? When I got sprayed with the majority of the booster that goes up the nose the tech asked me if it tasted good. At this point, I am starting to get frustrated. She then squirts it in his mouth. My fur baby has never done this before! So, my thought is she hurt him at the first prick of the needle and he wasn't having anything else to do with her. When it came to check out, I quickly put him in my car with the air running to calm him down. In the meantime a lady walks up with 10,000 questions. The person that injected my baby was also taking my payment. She kept answering all of this ladies questions and even stopped checking me out to go inside the building to look for someone. It took longer to check out and pay than it did to get the vaccines. She should have told the lady to wait a moment until she got me and by that time another gentleman checked out and then she could answer her questions. It was extremely rude for her to make us wait (especially when I clearly had been there long before anyone else had shown up). The only reason I came to this clinic and not the NRH one was because they did not have any mobile clinics that I would be able to get in to before his shots expired. I needed them renewed before his next grooming. I will make sure I book well in advance for NRH next time.

Negative experience: Super upsetting, got there at 3:30pm to get shots for my pup and they turned us around after waiting for 15mins. They should really update the times, people drive out here and waste gas coming out here. With that being said the lady was being super sarcastic and said have a good day, with a laugh!

Fantastic experience: Penny Paws has always been kind and decently priced. I mean, don't get me wrong, shots are expensive, but they provide an outside drive-up pet vaccination option that takes away from the office visit expense.

Fantastic experience: It was quick and easy with the mobile clinic, which saves $50 for an office visit. If you get there and there is no one outside under the tent, be sure to go inside and on the left will be a small desk that they use to check you in. Then they give you a buzzer to hold until it's your turn. We waited in the car.

Fantastic experience: There are no complaints here but plenty of thank-you's and relief as even though I have a "good" job I have worried many times about what I would do money wise if my dog needs urgent care because you never know how much that can cost or if you are being severely up charged. I truly appreciate the quality care and prices that seem reasonable given the urgent need of our visit today, an eye ulcer that was painful for my pet and worrisome for his human. We were seen, educated on our multiple choices moving forward and we made a plan that was best for the dog. Thank you.

Negative experience: Worst experience I’ve ever had at an animal clinic. I had an appointment for the end of life of my cat. When I arrived, already extremely emotional, not one person greeted me. (There were three people standing behind the desk) When I was greeted I walked to the counter to see that they were eating chick fil a. I should have left right then but I continued to check in and of course they couldn’t find my appointment. They eventually found it for a different day which was incorrect. Since they didn’t have a room for me I had to wait about 10 minutes. While in the room it was so loud and overwhelming. I understand it’s a clinic so they’re going to be loud animals but I’m there to grieve my animal, maybe don’t put me in a room right at the front door. After 15 minutes of waiting in the room I took my cat and left. Never again!!!

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about Penny Paws! We had to put one of our dogs to sleep and when we drove up a staff member opened the door for us and took us to a room. Then the Vet tech came in and explained everything to us about the procedure and then when the Vet came in she was so kind and gentle. My daughter wanted to hold him while she did the procedure and she sat down on the floor to accommodate her request! Thank you Penny Paws for the incredible service!

Negative experience: I'm a little torn on doing this review but I'm going to do it anyway. I visited Penny Paws in hopes of my friends car Ginger getting this massive growth that's weighing her down removed or drained or whatever but instead we were quoted 700 something dollars to give Ginger the care she needed. Where does one come up with that kind of money when your living paycheck to paycheck? Really? It saddens me to see how indifferent everyone has come towards animals and people alike. What's wrong with this world? I doubt we will go back. We prefer to find a more caring veterinarian. After all, this is our fur baby, and she's a big part of the family.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend their weekend vaccine clinic. You can make an appt and they are really quick. Only thing is don't expect this to be as cheap as TCAPP. Cheaper than if you made a regular vet appointment though so to me it's worth it.

Negative experience: 0 stars! Worst service ever! They only care about money and will change pricing when you show up! I left a bad but honest review of Penny Paws, Neeley was so offended by this she had the staff wait till the last minute of the day to tell me they didn't perform the procedure. The vet tech I originally met with told me my dogs teeth were fine and when I asked for her to check again she told me we would have to extract the teeth in the same breath. They are incompetent, lazy & greedy. Neeley and other toxic staff members need to be fired.

Negative experience: Went there to check up on my cat for she had something wrong. They did well in all areas perfectly. Except they wanted to X-rays and blood work and etc. but I told them I did not have a job so I could not afford $580 for all the lab work. She said she understood there is finacial blocks and she would go talk to my vet about another course of treatment. For her to bring me back the 2nd treatment plan that costed $992. I was kinda dumb founded cause we just had a whole conversation about this. I was able to buy antibiotics, and everyone was understanding. Just can be pricey don’t let the “penny” fool you in the name and the cheap exam cost.

Negative experience: After my previous visit, I probably won't be coming back. Prior to the couple of appointments there the staff and vets were friendly, helpful and understanding when I've informed them of my financial difficulties. But this previous visit honestly brought me to tears in a negative way, changing my views of Penny Paws. Before even entering the room I could tell the veterinarian was having a 'discussion' about me and my dog. Few moments later, the vet stepped into the room(a colleague was present with her) and I immediately sensed a lack of compassion or understanding. She asked me a few questions and I admitted to my lack of knowledge for diabetes, more so toward canines. Once I told her that and recapped the problems/events I mentioned to the first nurse she pretty much reprimanded me. I understood I've made bad decisions, but she didn't have to constantly make me feel like I'm an uncaring owner. She continued on to inform me of all the procedures they would have to do on my dog and left out the room with the colleague. Then the previous nurse ,that gathered our information, came back with paperwork listing the procedures along with the total pricing. Unfortunately, it was beyond my current financial means and I asked her if there any other options cause I was desperate. So, the nurse goes back out the room, probably discussed it with the vet, and comes backs with two choices: Either I find a way to pay the full amount or have my dog euthanized... Which I would have to pay for still... I was distraught over how my appointment escalated to this point, along with the lack of any empathy towards my situation. I honestly told the nurse this whole experience felt rude and heartless. They honestly didn't care what we've been going through since my last visit. I would rather go home with my dog, discuss things with my family, and get a second opinion somewhere else than have my dog put down in that place! Before leaving out while holding back tears, I made sure to atleast make worth of the 65$ visit by getting another prescription filled for my dog. Still can't believe how our appointment went...

Fantastic experience: If you’re looking for a vet office that has amazing compassionate care look no further. I brought my puppy in recently and I had received unfortunate news that she had parvo. They worked with me and my budget and they talked me through all the steps of in home care, and they were with me everytime I called to talk through what the next steps should be. Unfortunately we caught it too late and she did not make it, but I’m so thankful that I had these great ladies with me along the way. Today I received a card with their condolences and sweet messages and it brought me to tears again! So thoughtful and I’m so grateful. I’d recommend them to anyone, especially Nicole!

Negative experience: Please know that my one star is for a grooming experience and manager response that we had. We took our dog today for a scheduled grooming. I wrote what I wanted and verbally said what we wanted to 2 people. TWO. Just to get our dog back with little to no fur on his small little body. When I called to speak to someone I found out the groomer was already gone they she only had one appointment. Seems like she rushed to get out of there for the day. That’s one. Two, my mother went up there because of how upset she was. The managers response was that it’s fur it’ll grow back and thought it was all a joke. When my mother’s anger did not change to mirror the managers she finally took her serious. Admitted the groomer has had complaints against her. She apologized and gave us a refund. Which is cool and all but the groomer still failed to follow basic instructions and butchered our dogs fur up. He’s a mixed Shih Tzu/ bichon and looks like a toothpick with peach fuz on him now.
