Negative experience: They jumped straight into putting my dog down without even seeing her, i went to another location and she only needed arthritis shots, you don’t tell owners that their pet needs to be put down before even taking a look at the pet

Negative experience: I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience has been bothering me. Country Brook is no longer the walk-in emergency clinic it once was. Dr. Pipes has sold the practice, and it now operates like a standard vet office with scheduled appointments and multiple newer doctors. If you’re expecting continuity of care, that’s no longer the case. Front desk/appointments: The front desk staff were wonderful. Scheduling was easy, and everyone I interacted with was kind, patient, and welcoming. This is one of the reasons this isn’t a one-star review. The visit: Unfortunately, this is where things went wrong. While the vet was friendly, my concerns were dismissed and my dog was misdiagnosed. My dog suddenly began having severe mobility issues that worsened over several days; unable to walk or stand properly, arched back, obvious pain. Despite this, Country Brook insisted it was simply a severe flare-up of his knee issues and pushed for emergency double knee surgery, even though his knees were checked and found stable just four months earlier by his primary vet. My concerns that something else was going on were brushed aside. I sought a second opinion from his regular vet of seven years the very next day. They immediately identified the issue as spinal, not his knees. X-rays confirmed it was not surgery-grade, and given that my dog is epileptic, the surgery recommendation was especially concerning. He was diagnosed with a pinched disc, prescribed appropriate medication, and placed on strict crate rest. Two weeks later, he’s doing significantly better. Pricing: Pricing was reasonable. I paid approx. $460 for the exam, X-rays, and medications, which is in line with other local practices. Overall: It’s sad to say this place isn’t what it used to be. Country Brook once provided thoughtful, thorough, and compassionate care, but that magic seems to be gone. While others may have good experiences, I strongly encourage pet owners to trust their instincts on this one. TL;DR: Friendly front desk, easy scheduling, fair pricing. However, my dog was misdiagnosed, and an unnecessary, major surgery was pushed when the real issue was a spinal injury.

Negative experience: My cat Lulu was deprived of appropriate pain medication despite 50+ days of horrible cystitis pain cycling. I begged for something to bring my cat relief as the meds she was prescribed did nothing for her, and I was just met with dismissiveness and told to try supplements and probiotics. I finally went to another vet who sat and spoke to us for an hour and also prescribed her pain meds (buprenorphine). This is the first time in almost two months that my Lulu is comfortable and a vet has finally acknowledged that Lulu has a severe and refractory condition. At this point her bladder lining is so damaged and ulcerated. The new vet told me it is pretty standard to give buprenorphine to FIC cats when they flare because the pain is agonizing, and they were surprised country brook denied me on multiple occasions despite knowing what Lulu was going through and receiving frequent updates. I feel that Lulu could have come out of this pain cycling so much earlier if she was supported adequately from the start. She is exhausted and had completely lost her spark. This is unacceptable to me. Not to mention the fact that you will never speak to the same vet twice, so no one ever truly knows your pet nor do they seem to care, and they continue to push supplements and products that they are affiliated with/ can sell you.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Yu has been fantastic for chronic issues as well as an emergency for my dog. Vet care is expensive in general at any animal hospital, but the team at Country Brook is sensitive to budget constraints & there are financing options through partners as needed. The whole staff has been timely, communicative, and helpful every visit. Thank you!

Negative experience: ⭐☆☆☆☆ – Absolutely unacceptable negligence and lack of compassion On November 3rd, 2025, our beloved dog Simona suffered a severe medical episode early in the morning. We rushed her to Country Brook Animal Hospital as soon as they opened. Dr. Kristy Yu attended her case. That morning, Dr. Yu performed X-rays and blood tests, but despite having the radiographs in her hands, she failed to recognize a massive tumor nearly 10 centimeters in size located between the liver and the spleen. She also missed the clear signs of internal bleeding and never checked Simona’s blood pressure, which later that afternoon was found to be dangerously low (50). Instead of recognizing the severity of the situation, Dr. Yu told us that all of Simona’s organs looked “perfectly fine,” suggested the problem might be neurological, and prescribed steroids without identifying the real cause. We were sent home with a dying dog. That same afternoon, after Simona endured four more painful episodes and passed away, we received an email from the hospital forwarding a message from an external radiologist —someone they had sent the X-rays to for review. That specialist clearly stated there was a large mass causing internal bleeding. The most shocking part: the hospital never called us with this life-or-death information. When I asked why, the manager’s response was that Dr. Yu “did everything right” and “did not have time to call because she was busy.” This level of negligence and indifference is simply unacceptable for any medical professional —let alone one entrusted with the lives of our family members. Had Dr. Yu taken the time to correctly read the X-rays or follow up with us, Simona could have been humanely relieved from her pain hours earlier, instead of suffering needlessly. We paid $724.91 for services that failed at every level of care, diagnosis, and basic compassion. To this day, we have not received any apology or acknowledgment of error. Please, think twice before trusting your pet’s life to this hospital or Dr. Yu. What happened to us should never happen to another family.

Fantastic experience: When my son and his wife had to make the difficult decision to euthanize their dog, Koby, this after-hours clinic was nothing short of incredible. From the start, they showed immense compassion, even waiving the cost of some tests when Koby's illness couldn't be diagnosed. What truly sets them apart, however, is the handwritten condolence card they sent afterward. Negative experience: All around a terrible experience! Went in for a pup with weeks long poop issues, wanted to get an allergy and stool test ran, just routine stuff to see if that was causing an issue. The women vet refused - saying he needed to be tested for heartworms (extremely expensive, might I add...) BEFORE even just running normal tests. She seemed offended that we turned down the hundreds of dollars and even stuck her finger RIGHT in my face like I was a child. She was the poster child for unprofessionalism and I will NOT be returning. Waste of money and time because the office never even sent me the results for the stool test I repeatedly asked (and paid for..) for to be ran. Turned out to be an allergy to his food, so glad we did NOT end up paying for the pointless extreme test to be ran. Establishment definitely gone downhill after the main male vet retired.

Fantastic experience: Everyone was so kind and accommodating, at a time when I was so scared that my cat’s leg was broken, they truly made me feel so calm and secure that she was in the best care possible. Fantastic experience: Recently had to take my large dog here for a checkup and testing. The nurse Tina is incredible at what she does, and Dr. Yu really made me feel my dog was in good hands and cared for. Fantastic experience: We have always had the absolute best experiences everytime we have appointments or any other interaction with the doctors and staff at Countrybrook! I would love to especially recognize Elizabeth, one of the pharmacy techs, for coming to our rescue today. Our sweet Thor was supposed to get his monthly dose of Heartguard yesterday, and I was horrified to realize I had forgotten to ask for his refill! I messaged the office with my urgent request, and Elizabeth got back to me right away. She not only arranged for a same day pickup of the dose, but she also helped me get everything arranged for monthly autoship of all Thor's medications! The peace of mind Elizabeth and her quick actions have given me is priceless, and I can't thank her enough! The entire staff at Countrybrook is amazing, but Elizabeth is our hero today!! Positive experience: My expirience was mostly positive except for the way I was spoken to by a doctor after explaining I was on a tight budget. I assume she became hostile because she thought I was not going to pay but I never said that. After the doctor left one of the nurses attended to me and was far more friendly. My kitten had worms and I required Pancur as the OTC medicines did not treat the specific type of infection she had. I understand its a buisness but I would not had gone to the vet without funds. I felt embarrassed and will not be returning to the clinic because of that negative interaction. That said the nurses were great and very attentive. I obviously paid for the medication but still felt uncomfortable by the way I was treated. The initial consultation was $65 wich is on the lower side for new clients but if you are on a budget I guess dont bring it up less you will be spoken to in a aggressive manner. The nurses were awesome and attentive at least.

Negative experience: My first time and last time using they services. They are horrible. I take my dog to the clinic , and before any exam, they said she have a uterus infection and need a surgery. After they performed the blood test (approved by me) and an ultrasound (not approved), the doctor explained the blood test results, and said my dog need the surgery. I asked if a second option , the doctor said he suggestion is to do the surgery. I asked what is the real chance about the surgery, The DOCTOR said "SHE WILL BE OK, (said couple time), before the nurse take our dog to the surgery room, we asked again" the nurse confirm she will be ok" After the words come from the doctor and nurse (she will be ok), we decided to pay more than $1400 Dollars for the surgery. After fill hours we received a text message from the hospital saying everything was ok, she is recovering, and I will be able to pickup my dog before the clinic is close. We show up on time scheduled to pick up our dog. When the nurse come to release our dog, we noticed our dog is a lot pain , crying and shaking. I asked the discharge nurse, and she said "That is normal because she is coming off the anesthesia .But I asked " she is felling lot of pain", The nurse said is normal and she reply "they give her a pain medication early".(I was thinking , this medication is not working, but I'm not the doctor) I take my dog and start drove off the parking lot, and noticed" She start getting worst, before leaved the parking lot, we go back to the hospital, And I informed the hospital staff , she is not feeling well, and getting worst. The discharge nurse come back and not even checked my dog and said" that is normal", go home. she will be ok, the only thing I need the is follow the medication instructions. We drove back home thinking this guys know better than us (we are not a veterinarian doctor). Every single minute , she start to getting worst. Less than 5 hours (after left the clinic)she died. Now I don't have my dog with me anymore , and lost more than $1400, after the doctor and nurse said"she will be ok" I know every surgery comes with a risk. But why they did not double checked my dog before she left the clinic after we returned. CLARITA rest in peace, we loved you since you born. OH I almost forget, After couple days of my dog passed away, they send me a email, saying the really good job they did and offering me 20% off the dog food for Clarita, (my dead dog)

Negative experience: I’m super disappointed in my experience with Country Brook. I adopted my now 3 month old kitten from the shelter and went to CB for the free exam they offer. The staff was wonderful but the associate veterinarian was horrible and she called animal services on my kitten for a scratch because she hadn’t had her rabies shot yet (she was super young when we adopted her and already had an appointment to get it done when she got spayed). I get it, Texas law says for any bite or scratch but I believe it to be negligent to not wear gloves in handling animals who YOU KNOW do not have their rabies shot, especially when you’re giving them vaccines. The officer showed up right away like we were criminals and I was forced to pay $100 and went through two separate visits to our home. Even the officers that came and checked on my kitten believed this to be excessive on the veterinarian’s part but to each their own. I’m not one to defame or actively keep people from going to CB but my family and our pets will certainly NEVER go back.

Positive experience: UPDATE: I still feel that my puppy received very good care. I felt that the staff was friendly etcetera...However, something happened recently that is a bit of a deal-breaker for me. I called to get a rough estimate of what it would cost to have my puppy neutered. The receptionist told me that I would have to pay an office visit fee to find out how much it cost to have him neutered. Every other veterinarian's office was able to give me a rough estimate. I would have been happy with a rough estimate, as I know that a lot of times they go by weight and if there's certain issues. Unfortunately, I consider it very poor form to expect an existing client to pay an office visit fee just to find out how much it costs to neuter a puppy. So I guess I'm not a big fan of their policy. I hope they rethink it for future clients. They started at 5 stars I'm knocking it down to 4, I would go down to a 3, but it's not fair to disregard the friendliness of the staff. My puppy and I are new to the Country Brook family. So far, we've had great experiences with doctors, techs, and front desk associates . It can be hard to find a veterinary clinic that has it going on in all three areas!

Fantastic experience: We decided to adopt a neighbourhood cat. Having previously done some research on potential vets to replace our former vet, we decided on Country Brook. We could not be happier with our Choice. Our new kitty, "Gandalf," went through a thorough exam, by both the Veterinarian, Dr. Dunn, and a tech, Tina, for over an hour. We feel this speaks to the thoroughness of the exam, and the explanations. All questions were answered in detail and a plan for any and all contingencies was made. This included prophylactic testing, dosing and external lab testing. The price for this long, comprehensive exam and the treatments involved? $277. Far less than we expected. We've had a simple exam cost near that much at our former vet's place. Our new favourite place.

Fantastic experience: We recently had to put our beloved dog to sleep. We rescued Starsky from the SPCA about 7 years ago. He was the best rescue Lab you could ever imagine!!! Countrybrook is the most compassionate place and the staff is fabulous in the way they helped us deal with the passing of our family member! I thank them for their kindness and going thru this process I have never been thru....if we ever get to rescue another dog...they are my vets for life!!! Love them!!!

Negative experience: I would never take my pet here! These people are completely negligent and irresponsible! My dog was brought by a man after he was lost and they scanned his chip however my number had recently changed. They tried to call me twice and then GAVE MY DOG BACK to the person they knew did not own him!!! I haven't seen him since. I'm absolutely heartbroken, devastated and disgusted by their actions and irresponsibility. The nonchalance that the woman at the front desk took to the situation is incomprehensible and repulsive. Clearly they don't care about much except making money!

Fantastic experience: I have been coming here for over 10 years and there’s a reason (or a few) why I stay! I love the level of service provided, how much they care for my fur babies, and the improvements they’ve made over the years. Amanda and Dr. Holland are the best and been taking care of my dogs for years! I appreciate that we can now order prescriptions online and have them shipped right to our home. Negative experience: They didn’t sent my prescription to chewy, even after I spoke with them and they assured me it was taken care of. They charged me for a couple of pills to make it through the weekend. All it matters is the cash, who cares about the animal suffering in pain due to their mistake. I paid for the consultation on time, they just want us to get the medication twice more expensive from them. Very disappointed!

Negative experience: Edit: The office manager had the audacity to call my mom and ask her about MY review. (Specifically why was a one star review left) They have yet to take any accountability for misdiagnosing my sisters cat. They’re more concerned about why a review was written than actually talking accountability. DO NOT call my parents home again about MY review or I will retain an attorney for harassment. Nothing I said in my review is a lie and can all be confirmed and verified. DO NOT BOTHER MY PARENTS AGAIN. If you have a question about MY review, find my contact information and call ME. I was asked by my parents not to write this, but people have a right to know how you all operate. When Dr. Pipes owned and operated Country Brook, this was the only vet our family used. My parents have been bringing their pets here over 20 years. I would drive from Irving to bring my pets to Dr. Pipes. Now it’s owned by a corporation, and it shows. The level of care has decreased dramatically. The receptionists are rude, and everyone seems rushed. They charge more than some urgent cares and are unwilling to work out payment plans for their elderly, long term customers. (Dr. Pipes ALWAYS worked with his customers). My sister most recently took her cat to them and he was misdiagnosed with diabetes. He’s been sick with an URI, and when they called her about his blood work, she was told he had diabetes, the care is expensive, his sugar was so high that he needed to be hospitalized (which they don’t offer) or she needed to consider euthanizing. She immediately took him to an urgent care, got him on an IV, and had his blood work redone. He does not have diabetes, he has a severe URI and is severely dehydrated, they are giving him IV fluids which should have been done when she originally took him to Country Brook a week ago. The fluids Country Brook gave him under his skin, not IV, did absolutely nothing because he was already dehydrated. We’re now in a fight to save him due to him being severely dehydrated, and his kidneys starting to give him problems. Country Brook needs to close their doors if it’s only about money.

Negative experience: I am very disheartened to have to update my previous 5-star review, but something has to be said. I can no longer in good faith reccomend Country Brook to anyone. You will never see the same doctor twice no matter how hard you try - in the last 6 visits, through thousands of dollars, I have seen 6 different doctors despite requesting an appointment the last few times with the same doctor and was told that's who I would be seeing. I've had doctors tell me to give certain meds to my dog, just to have another doctor next appointment disagree with the last doctor and tell me to discontinue those meds immediately as they could make things worse. It's like they do not even read each other's notes or talk to each other. After paying exorbitant amounts of money 5 months ago on complete blood panels (almost $400), urinalysis (almost $300), etc, I was told they were cheaper and could rule things out and that X-rays were expensive and we should do those last. A few months later, my dog was not improving based on the recommendations they made for him, I brought him back and asked for x-rays. To my utter shock, they told me x-rays were only $159.......why would they tell me they were expensive after how much I had spent already to that point on far more expensive services? We went ahead and did x-rays, and FINALLY we found the problem after 6 visits over 5 months... My dog had bone cancer, and it had already metastasized to his lungs. MAYBE if communication and service was better, we could have found this out and done something about it months ago and it might have helped....now it's too late and I'm having to prepare to say goodbye to my best friend right before his 12th birthday. WORST off all (aside from Dr. Yu) they have been unresponsive, unhelpful, and just plain seemingly non-caring throughout the whole process, especially leading up to these final days. I'm not sure what happened with this formerly reliable and well-run pet clinic, but I see now that Dr. Pipes retired and perhaps the clinic is under new management and has been corporatized. That is truly unfortunate. This was a local gem in the past - it is now a complete and total mess. Please, for the sake of you and your pet's well-being, find a better place for their medical needs. Old Review: Very friendly staff, very fair pricing, took very good care of my pup Dino when he needed some lipomas removed from his armpit and underbelly. The front desk and the veterinarian we worked with really seemed to care about my baby. He's 11 years old and super happy and healthy, thanks to them!

Fantastic experience: We were so pleased with the care given by Country BROOK ANIMAL Hospital! They were able to remove a large mass from our dog’s leg that two other vets were not willing to do and a surgery center wanted to charge us a fortune to take care of . They did it for a reasonable price, and took amazing care of our pup. She is doing wonderfully now thanks to their amazing care and service. All the staff that we encountered were patient, loving, and so communicative with us regarding our dog’s care. I really appreciate that they communicate through text to keep us updated on our dog’s progress and we could send them pictures and ask questions along the way to her recovery.

Fantastic experience: Great staff, techs, and veterinarians. All around great area and the place is updated and clean when we came in. We took our Nova to the vet for the first time after adopting her recently. They were thorough in the full wellness exam assessment and with our overall experience, we’d give this place a 10/10. Negative experience: LISA DUNN - NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FROM HERE I was treated extremely poorly by Lisa Dunn. She was rude, dismissive, defensive and unprofessional from the moment she entered the room. She made snarky comments, belittled us, and ignored my valid concerns regarding certain medications she was offering. She then got in my face and screamed at me in front of my 15-year-old daughter, who was terrified by the entire situation. To make matters worse, she SLAMMED the door as she left and refused to allow us to speak. Clearly from other reviews it's not the first time she's done this and they still allow her to work here. As if this behavior wasn't bad enough, Lisa diagnosed my dog with an infection in his gland. However, when I took him to another vet due to her unprofessionalism for a second opinion, they confirmed that he was fine and did not have the infection Lisa claimed. Imagine how she treats animals if this is how she treats humans. This experience has left me deeply shaken, and I will no longer trust this clinic with the care of my pets. I am incredibly disappointed; Dr. Pipes would have never treated us this way.

Negative experience: UDATE 7 years later: I’m so disappointed to have to change my review from 5 stars to 1. I have taken my dog here ever since I got him almost 8 years ago, and Dr. Pipes and his staff ran an amazing practice. He was really good at what he did, and you could tell he just wanted to help pets and their owners. Prices were super affordable, it was great all around. Well, I took my dog there today for a nail trim, annual wellness exam, and some vaccine updates. The technician, Ana, was SO nice and good at what she does! The reception is nice and friendly. Then the vet came in. Lisa Dunn, and she is the reason I will never come back! She was nice for about 1 minute until I had questions. She got super combative, and had an attitude with me for no reason. She proceeded to liken her situation of having to put down her dog for breed/behavioral issues to me for some reason (my dog doesn’t have behavioral issues, he’s 8.5 years old and a good boy)? And when I said “okay well that’s your dog, not mine” she continued to be rude and argumentative as she left the room and SLAMMED the door on me. After that, I felt really uncomfortable having my dog back there in her care. I was SO disoriented by the whole interaction, as I’ve never had a bad experience here in my almost 8 YEARS of patronage. I’m sad to see what has happened to what was an amazing practice. I guess at least now I can find a new vet that isn’t a long drive for me! 7 years ago: definitely will be using them as my dogs vet in the future! The staff is friendly, the prices are affordable, and Dr. Pipes was great with my dog!

Negative experience: Been a customer for years and loved and trusted them. When Dr. Pipes retired it is terrible. The prices were more expensive but it was worth it because of the level of care. But, now it's $$$$ motivated. They gave my senior a shot that caused a seizure and he passed out in his water dish and almost died. Had I not woken up he would of died. I've now heard multiple instances where their inadequate care caused the loss of very loved four legged children. Please be warned. Mike- dont bother responding. YOU are part of the problem and you were useless and basically called me a liar. Have the day you deserve!

Negative experience: I am deeply upset and heartbroken by the experience I had with Country Brook and their referral to an emergency veterinary clinic that ultimately led to the death of my beloved dog. My dog was vomiting non-stop, and when I reached out to Country Brook, they refused to treat my pet as an emergency case. Instead, they directed me to urgent care centers, which led me to Club Hill Animal Clinic in Garland. At Club Hill, my dog was administered medication that, unfortunately, ended up poisoning him. I am devastated that what was supposed to be a solution for my dog's illness turned into the loss of his life. Country Brook needs to take responsibility for the places they refer pet owners to. It's clear to me that they are more focused on making money than actually helping animals get the care they need. I trusted them to guide me to the best care for my pet, and I am beyond disappointed with the outcome. This experience has been traumatic, and I urge Country Brook to reassess their referral partners and prioritize the well-being of pets over profits. No one should have to go through what I did, and no pet should lose their life due to poor referrals and mismanagement.

Fantastic experience: The service was prompt regarding scheduling a somewhat urgent Saturday appointment and being seen almost immediately when we arrived. The staff was very courteous and thorough as they explained what needed to be done and made sure I had an estimate for the cost. When we returned the morning of the procedure my dog was greeted with cuddles and I was reassured that he would be well taken care of. The clarity of the discharge instructions and follow-up calls gave me certainty that I had made the right decision to entrust his care to CountryBrook and its staff. We are 2 days post-op and he's doing well on the road to a full recovery.

Negative experience: Worst vet ever. Doctors are in the room for 1 minute and don’t care. Doctor told me my dog just had a scab and came back 2 weeks later and now they are saying it might be cancer. So careless and only care about money. Don’t come here, wish I could give zero stars.

Negative experience: Do not use this hospital They were rude to my daughter AND one vet here simply scratched a cyst on my black lab’s head. We took our dog there because of the cyst on her head, the vet didn’t take it serious, and said it was just a scab and scratched it with his thumb now. Within two days this is began to grow. Her, and eventually Burstyn was bleeding. We brought the dog back and requested not to have the same veterinarian because he was rude to my daughter, and Him. When we brought the dog back in, they tried to charge us another fee for a visit when we were told over the phone when booking the visit would be free and only pay for treatment. They told us on the second visit that if we would’ve seen the same doctor, it would’ve been free but because we requested not to see the doctor that was rude, we had to pay another visit. I will never go back to this location, and I have spoke to others in my neighborhood that have use this hospital and they will not return either.

Negative experience: Usually I never issues with them and they’re fair on pricing but the last time I took my dog in was for an exam. They planned for an x ray and blood work etc. I have a senior dog. The vet assistant asked if I wanted my dogs nails trimmed and I said no because I can do it. They weren’t even long. I wish I remembered that girls name, I just know the face. When they took my dog to the back and brought her back out the vet assistant told me they trimmed her nails and had the audacity to charge me after I told her not to cut my dogs nails. Just by that I don’t trust them anymore. Found a better vet that was more respectful

Negative experience: I called in to schedule my two dogs for an annual/pre fix and nueter procedures. I was not the primary on the account. The communications never went to my boyfriend regarding time. I called the day after scheduling everything to confirm timand read everything back to the scheduler before sending it to my bf. I was assured he would receive reminders and emails. He never got anything. I was told the appt was for 3:30 (he was 15 mins late, I don't know of anyone that turns a slightly late appt away) he gets there and they tell him his appt was for 3:00. I don't think I can trust this place to give me the right animals back if they can't figure out a schedule.

Positive experience: Very nice folks the remodel is great. I was charged in December for a new patient appointment and the meds worked fine; tried to take same pet back in April for the same reason they wanted to charge me for a new patient appointment…not cool.

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience. They were loving and gentle with my girls. They were very professional and explained what needed to be done, what they did and what I needed to do at home. They showed they truly cared for my girls and that matters to me. Dr. Pipe has retired but Dr. Dunn was just as amazing. All my pets have always come to this office for their medical needs and I’m sure all my future pets will too.

Fantastic experience: Dr.Dunn and Ann were incredible and really made me feel so much better as I didn’t have a clear understanding as to what had happened, so my stress level came way down after our visit. Dr. Dunns explanation of the stroke and what I could expect going forward has been spot on. She also recommended some pads for Sugarbear’s paws and that has made her life so much better. She took time with me, I did not feel rushed and they were so gentle and kind to my baby. Great staff all around as well!

Fantastic experience: Last Thursday, we took our 13 year old dog to Country Brook because he was unable to stand at all without an appointment. They quickly worked us in. We suspected that the cancerous lump we had removed last year had spread. We were assigned Dr. Jennifer Hewitt to evaluate him and we went in knowing that we most likely were not bringing him home. The entire staff was wonderful and Dr. Hewitt was amazing at explaining the process of putting our Rio down. She was so very kind and compassionate and as hard as it was for us, which made the procedure a little more easy for us. He did not suffer at all and crossed the rainbow bridge very peacefully.

Fantastic experience: The techs and vets have been very helpful and attentive to my cats. I will say there is one older gentleman vet, I did not feel helped one of my cats and didn’t seem like he cared much just onto the next pet.. the others I have no complaints about. Positive experience: The staff is great. That being said, the pricing is off the charts for putting a pet to sleep. I qas quoted $66 and it ended being over 100. In addition to a emergency appointment charge. Over 200 just to put to sleep, then an extra 245 for cremation. Luckily I had a family member help me out. This vet clinic was actually cheaper by 100 then another Garland vet. It is a shame that to lay a beloved pet to rest it costs an arm and a leg. Especially for seniors.

Positive experience: I now know why this vet office reviews has went down. I I called the office two different times and spoke with two different women about coming to get flea tick and Hardware medicine for two pups that were already in the system from last year. Wanted to get the shots through them, but they were totally booked on the days that I am off and available, so I went to Penny paws I spoke with a couple of ladies there at Countrybrook Hospital and let them know the situation. They told me that since two of my pups have been seen there last year that all I had to do was bring in a copy of their shots and showing that they had a heartworm test. The other two pups needed to come in and be introduced to the vet. Ladies told me the exact same thing the day that I go in to pick up the medicine, the lady at the front desk really did not think I had copies of the shot records plus the heartworm told me to email those records to her after I done so and she seen them. She told me I cannot sell you the medicine because they have not been here within a year so they have to come in and be checked again by the doctor I stated to her that that was not the case when the other two ladies told me yesterday and the day before a different story now that I am standing in front of her with paperwork in hand dates and when it was done and she still will not allow my other two pups to get their medicine that I will be going somewhere else please send a copy of my records to my email and I understand why your reviews have dropped so low I know the pipes need to be retired. Everyone needs , a break or retirement but I can say that he will never ever put up with anything like this. We miss you Dr. pipes happy retirement but things just not the same anymore and customers are going to other places.

What is a Veterinarian-Client-Patient
Relationship (“VCPR”)?

~A VCPR is when your veterinarian knows your
pet well enough to diagnose and treat any
medical conditions they may develop. Your part
of the VCPR is allowing your veterinarian to take
responsibility for making clinical judgments about
your pet’s health, asking questions, and following
your veterinarian’s instructions. Your veterinarian’s
part is making those clinical judgments and accepting
the responsibility for providing your pet with
medical care; keeping a written record; advising
you of the benefits and risks of different treatment
options; overseeing treatment, compliance,
and outcome; and helping you know how to get
emergency care should the need arise.
~How is a VCPR established
and maintained?
A VCPR is established when your veterinarian
examines your pet in-person and is maintained
by regular veterinary visits to monitor your
pet’s health, at least once a year. It cannot be
established online, via email, or over the phone.
If a VCPR is established but your veterinarian does
not regularly see your pet afterward, the VCPR is no
longer valid. It would be illegal and unethical for your
veterinarian to dispense or prescribe medications
or recommend treatment without recently

For one, it’s required by law in many states –
in order for a veterinarian to diagnose or treat
your animal, or prescribe or dispense medications,
a VCPR must be in effect according to the state’s
Veterinary Practice Act (if you have questions about
your state’s Practice Act, contact your state veterinary
medical board). Two, it’s the best thing for your
animal’s health. Your veterinarian should be familiar
with your animal’s medical history so they can
provide your animal with the best possible care.
~How can a VCPR be ended?
You, as the client, can terminate a VCPR at
any time by notifying the veterinarian. If your
veterinarian chooses to end the VCPR, they should
notify you and, if your animal has an ongoing illness,
provide medical care until you have transitioned to
another veterinarian.

Fantastic experience: We just love Country Brook. I made the mistake of going to another vet because we moved and this is a bit of drive. Never again. Country Brook doctors and Techs do most everything right in the room with your pets. They love them like they are their own. And the bonus is that it cost 1/3 of what the vet clinic near my home cost. So amazing. Thank you Country Brook.

Negative experience: Bad doc n he ask you how much you got to get u to spend all your money he wanted to put my baby girl (Maltese) down n she was fine with a lot of life in her. He was trying to charge me thousands n I payed 900 only n my baby got medicine surgery and everything done. Don’t go to this clinic I don’t think his a real vet

Negative experience: So happy Dr. Pipes has expanded his office. The addition of the web check in is also a nice touch. We can't tell you just how awesome Dr. Pipes is our animals even feel at ease with him. The amount of times Dr. Pipes has got out of his way many times to attend to our animals speaks volumes to his character and vet practice. From the front deck to the treatment rooms in the back they are awesome! ** Update ** I am so sad that Dr. Pipes retired. I am happy for him and he is very deserving of his retirement. Based on our most resent experience with the staff and this practice I feel compelled to update my review of this practice. We can no longer recommend them. I will not get into the specifics of our experience as it's still a very painful memory. The loss of not just 1 but 3 pets and could have been avoided. There is no need to respond to this review. I am not interested in your response. It will not change the events that occurred or the emotional pain caused.

Negative experience: Had taken my cat in to urgent vet hospital this past Saturday, he hasn't been eating or drinking and lethargic and temperature. Had antibiotics given along with vitamins and anti nausea meds. Called Counrty Animal clinic Sunday night and left a message on their emergency line because their next available appointment wasn't until Wednesday. Brought my cat in the next morning, Monday. While waiting to be seen, the front desk lady called me responding to my message, to say they had an available appointment that day (Monday), naturally my response was I'm sitting right in front of you. Somehow, they find it appropriate to charge me for a normal consultation $80.50 and emergency visit $93.50, AFTER CALLING ME AND TELLING ME THERE WAS AN AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT. They continued with lab work up, called me later and insisted on x-ray, so I agreed. Picking him up that day at 5pm, I was told by one Doctor Stoehr, that his x-ray images appear normal, his urine came back with some bacteria and that she was sending it to get a culture done, but diagnosis was still unknown, and to bring him back the following morning to continue hospitalization. When asked about the X-rays, they said they are waiting for the report back from radiologist. I bring him back the next morning, to a new doctor now, Jenny. I ask again about X-rays and still no results, but she states in her opinion, everything to her appears normal. She then does a physical exam infront of me and finds he has a lump on the left side of his throat, and it is of a noticeable size obviously. Dr. Stoehr failed to notice that the previous day. Dr. Jenny then recommends a thyroid test, I agree to it, although I am made aware that it is a separate charge from the $915.33, that I already paid for the previous day with Dr. Stoehr, again who failed to identify a noticeable mass the day before that doesn't just developed over night. So another $107.24 dollars and 20 minutes later, my cats thyroid appears normal, says Dr. Jenny. I leave him there for the day and return at 5:30pm to pick him up. Ask again for the X-rays, AND STILL NO RESULTS. Remember, I was charged for an EMERGENCY visit along with a normal consultation visit, and have to wait 72hrs for x ray results... What kind of urgency is being practiced when this is an "emergency" situation? From what I experienced, none at all. Dr. Jenny finishes with she suspects the problem is Bartonella, but states that their fully equipped clinic with x-ray, and instant lab results, can not do testing for this and must go somewhere else where this testing costs $400.00 and upwards, and I am then charged $388.10 before leaving. When I asked about the culture that Dr. Stoehr had sent off, I got a confused look from Dr. Jenny, and was told a culture was never ordered. Did Dr. Stoehr just forget in this emergency consultation visit? The next morning after demanding the X-rays results, I get a call from another doctor, whos name I have forgotten, and tells me that my cats heart seems enlarged and abnornal fluid in his abdomen is present, after TWO other "professional" doctors, tell me their opinion is that everything appears to look normal. My grand total was 1303.43, and my feelings are my experience did not meet that cost. I spent $415.00 at the urgent care previous to this experience and can not afford to keep spending money while not getting cost equivalent treatment and result. Hope this helps anyone make a better judgement call then to come here first. Wish Dr.Pipes was still around, the lobby was always overflowing with clients because he provided great treatment, that got straight to the point, and didn't break the bank, this clinic feels more like a scam now, but that's just my experience and opinion. My cats is home with me while I try to nurse him and I'm not sure what to do anymore as I have spent close to $2000.00 and have no real idea of what is wrong with him, due to the inconsistency I experienced and now I feel mistrust.

Fantastic experience: Our appointment at Country Brook was great! My dog, Shamrock, can be very shy, but his doctor got on his level and took the time to make sure he was comfortable for his exam. They also made sure all questions were answered and that everyone was on the same page. I can’t say enough good things!

Fantastic experience: I like this animal hospital. Got to know about this Vet while I was volunteering with an animal rescue/foster organization. I now have my own fur baby and continue to come here for regular checkups, as well as, any urgent care needed. The individuals working here are caring and helpful.

Negative experience: Understand Dr. Pipes sold his practice, and it is under new management. However, it is a customer's right to choose a vet s/he likes. The way Country Brook's new management runs is ridiculous. We customers pay for the services, but we have to accept any vets randomly assigned to us. Dr. Sharp also sold his practice, but at least, Animal Medical Center of Plano allows their customers to select vets.

Fantastic experience: My 2 yr old pup had diarrhea for several days so I went to Country Brook Veterinary Hospital. Fantastic experience: Country Brook Animal Hospital has been the vet hospital we have used for over a decade. Dr. Pipes always took great care of my pets and treated them like his own. Since his retirement we now see Dr. Sarah and Dr. Jennifer. Unlike most vets since office, you can go in the room with the vet at their visit too! The technicians are lovely and the front office staff is great too! My doggo recently had emergency surgery due to a routine neutering gone terribly from Spay Neuter Network in Crandall. Even though I live 45 min away, Country Brook is 100% worth the drive! As long as we are living in North Texas this is the bet we will continue to use. They also offer the most reasonable rates, don’t rush you and make you feel like family! My dog was so comfortable in the second visit he almost took a nap!

Negative experience: Unfortunately with new management (and as well as lack of proper communications skills from the staff), I am unable to get the remaining six-month worth of Heartgard. Even though I was able to get 3 boxes from my last visit, and a year's worth before that? The inept employee stated it was due to new management, which made me realize I need to look for a new vet. It's fine if they need to get a heartworm exam, but this should have been disclosed to me during my last visit. I need to go someplace where employees know how to talk.

Fantastic experience: Easy to make an appointment and because my dog was ill they were able to get me an earlier appt. and when I arrived the staff was friendly and got us in to see the Dr. right on schedule. The Dr and staff genuinely care about making my dog feel comfortable and getting him well.

Fantastic experience: Staff was friendly and efficient. The facilities are clean and professional. This was for my kitten's first shots and spay. Kitty is back to normal (with meds) after only 1 day. So far, so good.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful staff from front desk to vet techs to the vets themselves. Dr. Jenny is awesome. They provide wonderful care. I took in a dog I rescued that had been attacked by a coyote possibly. It's a miracle this 13 yr old little baby has survived and she wouldn't have without Dr. Jenny's help. I highly recommend this facility! I first took one of my dogs there 13 years ago relocated then used other vets. I now live 75 mins away but they are worth the drive and I will no longer use another vet unless I have to. I will continue taking my new rescue as well as my other 2 furbabies to this office despite the distance.

Negative experience: Great place! Or, at least I used to think it was when Dr. Charles Pipes owned the business. Now with the new greedy doctors they have in office they put my cat in jeopardy healthwise because my grandfathered in unlimited urinary food that Dr Pipes told me I would never need to worry about ordering they refuse to fill and want to make money off of clients by having us come in yearly now and changed my unlimited prescription even though Dr Pipes assured me I was grandfathered in for the lifetime of my kitty! I’m so sad that Dr Pipes retired. I will never find another doctor that had the compassion that he does. He truly is a wonderful human being. My Max is alive today thanks to Dr. Pipes, I’ll never forget his kindness and concern when my kitty almost passed. I’ll be reaching out to the BBB DONT USE THESE GREEDY PPL!

Fantastic experience: Doctor Jenny sets a high standard for veterinary care. I have confidence that my pets are well-cared for when I bring them to her.
