Negative experience: Needed a rabies shot for our cat per licensing requirement and scheduled it. When my wife got there they said they required a physical exam to administer the shot. Because they had not communicated that when we had scheduled the appointment, and because we now did not have time to reschedule with the humane society (which is who they told us to use if we didn't like the cost of the mandatory exam they required just to get the shot), we had to pay the $140 they required due to this exam. We will never go back.

Fantastic experience: I've been taking my fur baby to Hunter Animal Hospital for years and they do not disappoint. They are always helpful and you can just tell they care about the animals they help. Their prices are fair and absolutely worth every single penny. Edit: I don't know how many years I've been coming here now, but they continue to be stellar. Edit2: I now have a new cat and she's been coming here for two years and they still continue to be stellar!

Fantastic experience: We have been customers of Hunter Animal Hospital for nearly 20 years. They are extremely professional and there business is pet and owner focused. We had to say goodbye to our 2nd fur baby last month. They were loving and kind. They treated Nibbler and ourselves with dignity. They go above and beyond in every way possible! This will be the only place we ever bring pets.

Been coming for years they also offer cremation and like if they pass away they offer services for late pets! I trust them with all my lil pets! Fantastic experience: 5 Stars ! I called first thing in the Morning was able to get my Dog in right away ! The staff is always so caring and friendly . They did the Best they could for me and my FUR Baby that is most important to me to get my dog the best care they where very helpful . The place is Always so clean and picked up . My Dog is smaller and older like senior , she needed a few Teeth pulled . She was well taken care of and they went over the Procedure and After care . This means alot my Dog is like my Baby . Fantastic experience: I’ve always had good luck at this place. Never a bad visit fourth dog just took a new puppy recently. They’re very good here. Very positive Clean Place love Hunter Animal Hospital. Had most every service done on a dog at this veterinary hospital. New puppy visit had first rounds of shots examination trim some hair all under $150 can’t beat that. Services is top notch here Don’t forget the dewormer also part of the deal

Fantastic experience: This clinic helped my dog so much. He was attacked by a couple of raccoons in our backyard and they got him in asap. Cleaned his wounds. Gave him meds and took care of him. I felt loved and cared for

Every time we’ve been here, the staff is super friendly and all the doctors we have had have been great as well! They are very thorough and explain everything in detail. Fantastic experience: Provided awesome and compassionate care to an injured feral cat that we trapped. Took care of sterilization while under anesthesia. He’s calm and recovering inside.

Fantastic experience: Called them around 10am or so and asked them if I could get an appointment same day for my dog who is limping. They were happy to help giving me an appointment around 1:15 p.m. they did a checkup on her and it is a past injury still acting up. The vet and her assistant were extremely helpful they gave lots of advice on how to make her feel better as well as told me that if she loses some weight, then she probably will feel better since she's about 6 lb overweight. She was not rude with how she explained it instead she took her time to explain why losing the weight would help my dog. She also let me know some fruits and vegetables I could give my dog to help her feel more full and also help reduce her inflammatory muscle. I'm very thankful for their help, this is my go to vet that I would recommend to anybody that needs quick help with friendly people.

Fantastic experience: It was a pleasure to meet Dr. Grace and staff at Hunter Animal Hospital. They were wonderful with our puppy Milo. Look forward to having them continue to care for him as he grows up!

Negative experience: They should really improve their appointment confirmation process. I got a call in the middle of my extremely busy workday, 24hrs before my appointment that we scheduled weeks ago, in which the voicemail stated “uh yeah, we need you to confirm your appointment before 5:30pm today or we’ll cancel it.” I work well past 5:30pm. I didn’t even see the message until the next morning, 2 hours before my already cancelled appointment. Guess we’ll be taking our business elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: The female veterinarian was very knowledgeable. The vet tech was very friendly and knowledgeable as well. I was afraid that I was gonna pay thousands and thousands, but I didn’t. It was very reasonable. I was provided with with great advice and how to take care of my dog.

Negative experience: Dr Greer Cauthen has terrible bedside. Along with her assistant. My dog had an injured paw, they advised that they needed to shaved but failed to shave it because he started to poop - are we not professionals and trained for this? (They charged $75 for their failed attempt and sent me on my way). A $200 visit for literally nothing.

Fantastic experience: Very kind and compassionate care givers. The hey have been so great in dealing with our older dog, especially at her end of life.

Fantastic experience: My pup was not going to cooperate to get her shots and the vet and tech literally sat on the floor with her, calmed her down, and gave her shots on the floor so she wouldn’t squirm off the table.

Fantastic experience: I love Dr Lynn. She is the one that diagnosed the cancer on my dogs butt. She was so gentle and kind when we agreed to set him free. She is so patient with my remaining geriatric fur baby.

Negative experience: I brought my Cavalier/Japanese Chin Mix to Hunter on Monday August 18. He had been vomiting off and on for the previous week. After taking x-rays it was discovered my dog's stomach was stuffed full of hair elastics. Dr. Lynn advised that there were three options, the first to do a scope and try to remove the elastics, gastrostomy or enterotomy, or euthanasia. I chose to do the surgery. The tech came in and went over the quote with me, it was between 2300 and 4,400 dollars. I knew it was going to be expensive, but the tech said this quote included everything needed. I left my dog at 12pm. I was told his surgery would be after a dental cleaning. At 3:30 I received a call from Dr. Lynn. She said surgery went well, just as expected and my dog did just fine. He was still intubated at the time of the call, but needed to be picked up by 5pm. I made arrangements for my adult son to pick up the dog by 5. I was stuck at Back To School Night for my school, and I couldn't leave, and really didn't have the availability to talk. I trusted the vet when she said that he would be fine at home, we just needed to make sure he stayed mellow, and kept him resting. My son picked up my dog at 5pm. He told me he picked up my dog. He said he was really really out of it, very limp. He took my dog home. The dog's bowels were leaking, he was in rough shape, but the vet said he was safe to go home, so we took him home. Sadly my dog died on my living room floor about an hour after he got home. I was devastated, We all were!!! As I was raveling through emotions I started looking up these surgeries. Every website I looked at said the dog should have been hospitalized for AT LEAST 24 HOURS after surgery, up to 48 hours!!! WHAT Why would they send my baby home 90 minutes after surgery. He was released no more than 90 minutes after being extubated. I talked to Dr. Lynn on August 19, she was willing to talk to me, but denied any wrong doing. I am here stuck! Not only did I lose my dog, I paid $4,000 for a surgery that they didn't care enough about post op to make sure he was safe to go home. I have been a customer of Hunter Animal Hospital for at least 8 years. I can't go there again. I feel as though they murdered my dog with malpractice. I reached out on their website to have someone to talk to me on the evening of August 19. It is now the 22nd and I have yet to hear from their office. I am sad to lose my dog, and I am sad I put my trust in an animal hospital that truly is in it for the money, not the animals.

Fantastic experience: Dr.Cauthen was amazing with my furry buddy after a turn of medical events. She is patient and explains everything so thorough. These guys love animals and are so sweet and gentle, highly recommend! We live about 40 minutes away and still choose this vet. :)

Positive experience: They are always really good with my dog. But, they don't always do what they say they're going to after the visits over. Like send you documents or call you back or etc etc. Other than that it's a good place, they're good, kind and gentle with your pets. UPDATE: Great with my dog like usual but when it was time to pay they made me go around to the cat side. NOT COOL! I'm allergic and I shouldn't have to stand in a place where I get sick just because the person up front was too lazy to get up and move.

Negative experience: I dont know who but one of their receptionist is criminally rude. "No if you called a month ago we would have put her on the schedule. Bye mam bye mam bye mam she's on the schedule now bye mam".

Positive experience: We've moved to sandy and still take the drive out to go here. The Dr's and techs are so good with our bully's and will answer all your questions with patience. It can be a little pricey for a spay for a dog in heat, even if it's been weeks since they've been in heat, they'll still charge you extra for a heat spay, but I do trust this vet amoung any others when handling our babies. Got my male neutered here and they were able to get him in fast and he's doing well.

From the beginning, you were all so kind, patient, and attentive, and that made all the difference. I know my 90-year-old grandmother isn’t always the easiest to deal with, especially given the uncertainty of Mr. Poppins medical situation, but the time, compassion, and respect you all showed her meant the world to us. The appointments, the phone calls, the constant back-and-forth—through it all, you helped guide us during a very confusing and challenging time. Dr. Greer, the way you explained everything so clearly helped us truly understand what was going on and what to expect—something that’s unfortunately rare in healthcare. You made sure we were informed and prepared every step of the way. Thank you again for everything over these past few months and for your ongoing care each week. You’ve helped us more than you know—especially Mr. Poppins. Positive experience: We were 9 min late and the receptionist said to us, well you Are late, I’ll see if the vet will still see your dog . We thought that was rather rude. We live at least a half hour away and left on time but had unforeseen traffic issues. It’s a quick immunizations/ check up visit for a very well established dog patient of 7 years. They can be more kind and less curt with us. Regular drs for humans don’t act like that plus I noticed on the last appt and this they don’t refer to the dogs history (chart history) which they always do for humans; so, if the staff doesn’t know your dog, which they didn’t, they don’t do any follow up questions; she has a history of melanoma. It’s strange as the 5 min appt costs over $135 and they are not specialists!

Fantastic experience: This was our first time here with our kitten. They were fast, very nice and listened to our concerns and have a plan in place. It is also cheaper than the vet we have went to previously. This will definitely be our vet from now on!

Fantastic experience: Hunter Animal Hospital is full of compassionate, caring, and professional veterinarians, vet techs and staff; all of whom take the health and well being of animals very seriously. I have been taking my cats for the last 5 1/2 years (we moved to West Valley City, so my family wanted to find a hospital as good as University Veterinary Hospital & Diagnostic Center). The veterinarians, techs, and staff, at Hunter Animal Hospital, have all been super kind. They really do so much to make sure that your pet is comfortable and well taken care of. Dr Greer Cauthen DVM is a super kind and compassionate provider who advocates for the well being of her patients. My cat, Lily and I, recently saw her and let me tell you, she and the vet techs and staff who work there, were phenomenal. I especially appreciate how straight forward and upfront they are about the prices of their veterinary and diagnostic services. This took the guessing game and worry out of my interactions with the vet and let me focus on making sure I was there for Lily, who had been throwing up a lot that day. They also advocate for pets to have pet insurance so now my cat, Lily, has Pumpkin Pet insurance. Thanks Hunter Animal Hospital vets, techs, and staff for being amazing advocates for the quality of life of pets. Keep up the great work!

Fantastic experience: I definitely found a new vet for my furbabies. The atmosphere is positive and welcome, the staff is amazing and attentive, and my furbabies are comfortable. The veterinarian is wonderful and let's you know the information needed and the possibilities. We'll worth traveling from another county.

Fantastic experience: Everyone was so nice and welcoming. This was my first time going to any vet for our new adult dog and they helped provide insights and handouts (and homework) so that our dog could be happy and healthy. It was also pretty quick to get an appointment.

My malinois is normally skittish bt he took to him so well. He was stitched up & snuggled up at home within 3hrs! Love this place & have always recommended it!!!!

Fantastic experience: The experience was amazing, first time visitor for my dog, and the staff were both prompt and very sweet, the visit was fast and extremely helpful for the issue we came in with. The prices were affordable, we left very happy (well I did, can't say my dog did, he was slightly drugged and probably upset, but it was for his own good. He's the one who ate the burrs that embedded in his cheek ). 12/10 would recommend for any first time or returning pet parent!

Fantastic experience: I was thinking Charlie had bladder infection. Unable To Pay over $500 to have bloodwork done. Was given medication. Unsure if it was the medication or something else but on Tuesday she started to throw up blood and pooped blood and couldn’t walk straight. Wasn’t able to get in to see one of the doctors even though it was an emergency and the other doctors the receptionist referred us to call was too far away to go to. She passed during the night last night. In this case I give you a 0 on star rating.

Negative experience: I had previously used Hunter Vet for my other dogs, but stopped going after overhearing a vet tech make a snide comment about my dog’s breed. That experience left a lasting impression, so I chose to go elsewhere for several years. Recently, I decided to give them another try with my new puppy. The visit was okay—not terrible, but not great either. I felt that Dr. Mike seemed a bit impatient with my questions, which I thought were fairly typical for a new puppy owner. Perhaps he’s had to answer them many times before, but it still made me feel a bit dismissed. He also mentioned my dog's breed several times as if problematic. The appointment was very quick—about 15 minutes—and cost over $80, ouch! Overall, I left feeling uneasy. My pets are family, and having a vet who is approachable and genuinely engaged is really important to me. I’m not sure I’ll be returning.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely awesome. Everyone was so very professional, very nice and caring to my kitties . My coughing, sick kitty was diagnosed with asthma. She received medication for it and she stopped coughing within hours. Thank you so much!! Also, very fair price. Facility was immaculate. I love how they have separate areas for cats and dogs. Fantastic experience: We had to say goodbye to our sweet and beloved English Setter Harley this week, and it was absolutely devastating for our family. In such a painful time, Dr. Grace Steck was incredibly kind and supportive. I know euthanasia is likely one of the hardest parts of a veterinarian’s job, and it deserves respect and acknowledgement from all dog owners. It means a lot to have someone like Dr. Steck there helping us through it, and helping our beloved animals pass on to greener pastures with dignity and grace. Thank you, Dr. Steck, for your care. Also thank you to Dr. Mike Van Zomeren for his help with Harley up to her passing.

Negative experience: Took our animal here, told them she's having ear issues and digestive issues. They gave her an xray. Didn't even check her ears, charged us a bunch of$$, and sent us on our way. No treatment.
