Negative experience: I am writing to express my concerns regarding the recent care provided to my dachshund, who was diagnosed with intervertebral disc disease (IVDD). Upon my initial visit to your facility, I was informed that surgical intervention was immediately necessary. However, based on my prior experience with two other dogs who successfully recovered from IVDD through a regimen of crate rest, prednisone, gabapentin, and methocarbamol, I requested a similar course of treatment. I was quoted a surgical cost of between $8,000 and $10,000 and was informed that direct communication with the surgical center was not possible. When I requested the aforementioned medications for a non-surgical approach, specifically prednisone, my request was denied. Consequently, I sought care at an alternative veterinary clinic, where prednisone was prescribed. My dog is now showing positive signs of recovery after five days on this treatment, and I anticipate a full recovery similar to my previous experiences. Given these circumstances, I will no longer be utilizing Holladay Veterinary services.

Negative experience: I had a remarkably bad experience at this clinic. I was charged over $500 more than they quoted me, and I had no option but to pay it… after $1,300 I had zero answers and was told to go to the ER. I realize that there isn’t always an answer for anything health related, but this felt very much like I was being taken advantage of in a vulnerable time in my pets life. I’m very disappointed. I never even saw a doctor yesterday, only the techs (which some are not as good as others). I did talk to the doctor on the phone and then via text message. The text messages felt very inconsiderate and unkind. I left with very little confidence that *I* received the best care. That being said, I truly believe they were very kind and loving towards my dog. The care he received was good care. I hope he pulls through.

Fantastic experience: I came to Holladay vet after my cat Lenny was diagnosed with heart failure last year. I have gone through so many vets and appointments but Dr. Monica Milstein was the best Veterinarian i’ve ever met. She genuinely had hope for Lenny’s condition and wanted to try what she could to help him rather than just excepting he can’t get better. My experiences here have been great, it’s always so clean and everyone is helpful. Booking is easy and I’m always in fast.

Fantastic experience: the perfect place for our new pup! as a new dog mom I searched high and low for the best vet care possible for our new Bernedoodle puppy (as any mom would) and from the second we walked in the door at Holladay vet I knew I found the best! Dr. Richard and Celyse gave our boy, Moose, the most amazing care. They were kind, welcoming, thorough and made our visit so pleasant. Moose is very timid and shy, Celyse broke down barriers with him with lots of treats and a slow approach. Dr.Richard offered incredible resources to help us navigate training and behavior, answered all of our new-pawrent concerning questions, and was so knowledgable. They set up great expectations for what his vet care will look like moving forward and we are so grateful for the time we spent there. As a realtor in the area I know how important it is to find the best service providers and vendors that I can continue to refer to my friends, family, and clients and I cannot wait to share more about Holladay Vet!

Negative experience: I have been to this place before.And they are charging me another ninety dollar deposit or to reestablish with the doctor. This was after I had already made an appointment. I get a phone call before ten am on a saturday morning mentioning this. This is completely unprofessional and should have been mentioned upfront when the appointment was being scheduled. This is con artist practice. Do not waste your time with this unprofessional establishment.

The staff was friendly and experienced and they treated the critters as if they were family. I will definitely be going back and I can recommend them for anyone in the area that needs a vet.

Fantastic experience: I had to get my dog in because my prior vet closed and the staff worked out a time right away. Vets and vet techs were so good with my pup and were able to do a minor procedure (fine needle aspiration) without him even noticing, and analyzed the results on site immediately to get me a result (dx lipoma). I’m sure my dog will have less anxiety the next time he comes in—they were great with him. Prices are fair and reasonable and I had confidence that my dog was getting great care. I’m glad I found a new place to land!

Negative experience: I’ve been a client of this hospital for about eight years, and my dog is almost 11. This year I was talked into purchasing the Paw Plan to help save money, but something has definitely changed. The hospital no longer feels like the caring place it used to be — it now feels more like a money-grab than a partner in my dog’s health. I deleted my previous 5 star review from 6 years ago, I’ll attach a photo. I scheduled a dental cleaning and was told bloodwork was required. That was completely fine; she already had bloodwork done earlier this year, but they said she needed it again. I was quoted $147, so I brought her in. As soon as I left, my card on file was charged $388. When I called, they said, “Well, she’s 11, so she needed the senior panel.” I explained that they knew her age when they gave me the quote. They told me they would refund the difference and recharge me on the day of surgery. They were adamant that she needed the bloodwork done at least two weeks before surgery so there would be enough time to send it out. Fast forward to the day of her dental procedure — I asked why they needed to redo bloodwork if they required a two-week window. They told me my payment “declined” so they had to dispose of the blood. No one ever notified me of this. The complete lack of communication was incredibly frustrating. When I expressed this, the vet tech responded with, “You’re more than welcome to leave.” So I took my dog and went home. I asked for a manager to call me, and was told someone would. This happened on the 17th, and it’s now the 26th. The only call I’ve received is from someone about the Paw Plan — not about my actual experience. I paid $1,400 for the Paw Plan this year, and everything I’ve used it for has cost additional money — including the dental cleaning that is supposedly “covered,” which still would have cost around $600 out of pocket. My dog is my whole world, and I always want to do what is best for her. At no point during this process did I feel like the hospital had her best interest in mind. I’ve referred friends and family here over the years, and it makes me genuinely sad to feel so dismissed and poorly treated after being a loyal client for so long.

Fantastic experience: Have had the absolute best experience here. My last vet retired a few months ago, and I’ve been stressed out trying to find somewhere even halfway decent for my cats. Holladay vet hospital was recommended by a friend of mine a few years ago, but he only has a dog so I still wasn’t sure. Another friend recommended this place as part of my recent search, so I decided I check it out. The staff here are INCREDIBLE. They were so good and patient with my terrified kitten, and had awesome recommendations for medical and behavioral care. They listened to my concerns, helped me address them, and clearly had a lot of expertise and deep knowledge about everything they were talking about. They were also just so nice. I was also able to make an appointment to be seen really quickly and via the website, which was awesome. You can text in directly with questions or concerns, which I also really love. I wish cost weren’t as much of a factor as it is, but we all know what’s up in terms of affording pets. Despite having a beautiful building, great equipment, and a big team, Holladay Veterinary Hospital was INCREDIBLE affordable. I was honestly surprised by the low cost of an exam + vaccinations + tests. I’m paying about half of what I expected to pay, and am over the moon about it. Love these folks and this clinic. I’ll be back for years to come. PS, special shout out to Leanna. She was so incredibly nice and friendly. I couldn’t have asked for a better vet tech. Literally. Whatever y’all pay her cannot be enough.

Positive experience: Staff was great Dr Pratt was very personable. Unfortunately the price of treatment was beyond reach. It’s sad to think of all the animals that go untreated, suffer or get put down because clinics choose to charge such an astronomical amount.

Negative experience: Lady on the phone was quite short and unhelpful. Every other office I've called for estimates has been able to give me at least ballparks on pricing, the exam process, and ideas on what treatments cost. All I got here was "All I can give you is $89 for a visit" then awkward silence. Ok... the welcoming energy was not there, it only took 60 seconds for me to feel put off and like I was an idiot. Definitely not a place I want to entrust my animals with based off the energy of the receptionist alone.

Fantastic experience: Took my dog in because he was suddenly experiencing neck pain. I was worried I wouldn't be able to be seen that day (it was already around 330 and on Veterans day so I was surprised they were even open). I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to see me within an hour. I had no appointment, and had never been to this location before. The staff were so kind, and they treated my boy with so much care. He's already doing so much better. Thank you so much Holladay staff!

Negative experience: We shall never forget Dr. Pratt thoughtlessly casting us aside after 25+ years of him being our cat & dog vet. We were gobsmacked. Shame on you, Dr. Pratt.

Negative experience: I genuinely wish I could give this clinic a 5-star rating. The staff, especially the vets and technicians, are truly wonderful. They consistently greet clients with warmth and kindness, and it’s clear they care deeply about the animals they treat. Their compassion and professionalism are the reason I’m giving this place 2 stars instead of 1. That said, the pricing structure here is extremely concerning. My first experience was when I inquired about having my puppy spayed. I was quoted an estimate of $900, just an estimate, meaning it could go even higher. I paid a $150 deposit, but ultimately canceled the procedure, leaving a credit on my account. At a later visit for routine vaccinations, I was told the total would be $60. I assumed this would be deducted from my existing credit. Instead, I was informed that the $60 included the $150 credit, meaning the actual cost of the visit was over $200. That was a shock. I remember when full puppy vaccinations cost around $90. Most recently, in October 2025, I brought my dog in for a basic exam. The exam fee alone was $86, and the total visit came to $150. Again, the staff were kind and attentive, but the prices feel disproportionate to the services provided. To be clear, my frustration is not with the staff, they’re doing excellent work. My concern is with the administrative decisions behind these costs. It’s pricing like this that drives people toward pet insurance and, unfortunately, away from otherwise great clinics. I may need to explore other veterinary options, ones where the administration values accessibility and pet care as much as the front-line staff clearly do. If cost isn’t a concern for you, you’ll find compassionate care here. Just be prepared: it won’t be cheap, don’t expect to leave without spending at least 150 bucks at minimum.

Fantastic experience: Outstanding Care and Compassion at Holladay Vet ​Dr. Pratt has been my family's veterinarian for as long as I can remember, and he is truly fantastic. He is incredibly attentive, friendly, and reliable, always taking the time to return calls and ensure our questions are answered. I will never forget the night my cat didn't recover from anesthesia as expected after surgery; Dr. Pratt stayed with her, watching over her until long after the clinic had closed. That level of dedication and genuine care for me and my pets is absolutely priceless. ​Recently, I had my first visit with Dr. McClain for my cat, who has a complicated medical history. I was initially nervous, but the experience was wonderful. Dr. McClain was exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, and thorough, and I felt completely heard regarding my cat's unique needs. Additionally, the vet tech, Pasha, was incredibly accommodating and polite. He asked all the right pertinent questions, showing he really strives for exceptional care. My great experience confirms that I truly love Holladay Vet and the entire team's commitment to excellence.

My pets are in good hands here. After our visit, Ashley our tech, was able to check us out from the room, eliminating the need to stop once more in the lobby. What a relief to zip out and leave happy barking k9s safely inside. Fantastic experience: Bubbles had a terrific time meeting her vet tech and Dr K at her annual checkup. The team was very positive and playful which made her feel right at home. Dr. K was very detailed when diagnosing an ear infection that we didn’t know about, and he was helpful in guiding us to help Bubbles lose a little weight.

Fantastic experience: I would like to thank the staff at Holladay vet! They helped my dog last June and again today! I think her name was Michelle at the front desk and Pasha the tech. They got me in for an emergency appointment and communicated promptly. I appreciate such good care and thank you again.

Fantastic experience: I lost my veterinarian of many years and was heartbroken to go to a new veterinarian office. My little Yorkie is 15 and wasn't doing well. The staff was amazing. The doctor was so gentle and kind with me when she told me that my Yorkie has cancer and it has metastasized. Whatever they gave me to put her on, to help her, somehow has revitalized her and we have had the greatest 3 days we've had since she was a puppy. I didn't want to go to a new vet because I felt like I was cheating on the veterinarian that has taken such good care of my pets for so many years. It wasn't like I had envisioned. It was a very inviting and professional visit. The doctor was so knowledgeable and the staff was incredible. I know even after my little Yorkie is gone I am going to be using Holladay Veterinarian clinic for my cat. I feel so much better knowing that I have a veterinarian at hand since losing mine. Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and they’ve treated all seven of my dogs. The staff is friendly and professional. All of the vets are great, but I love Dr.Myoshi. She sincerely cares and is always willing to answer my questions.

Negative experience: Warning extremely long review with receipts. It’s unfortunate and truly a shame to even leave a review, but the magnitude of this practices downfall does need to be shared with the public. I have been patron of this clinic going on 20 years and the business practices have become predatory, which is a shame because the people who do commit themselves to caring for others do a great job, the Veterinarians. They unfortunately are subject to this deceptive business practice and in some ways they are complicit in the actions because they are in the clinic as well. We went in to have our dog seen for what we thought may be a pinch nerve, sprain or possibly a panic attack, the vet did an assessment and determined from our videos taken of our pets episodes and the physical assessment that was performed, it was likely a pinch nerve or maybe a bulging disc. Two options were given; a course of sedation medication to keep him calm and allow it to heal naturally over the course of two weeks, or x-rays to try and see if anything shows up to help the diagnosis. The Vet was honest and said it likely wouldn’t show on the x-rays since discs and nerves generally aren’t visible. We were quoted two prices; $120 for the 2-week sedation medications and $475 for the x-rays to be done same-day. We chose to go with the course of medication and closely monitoring our dog; this is where the deception, medical jargon and poor business practice comes into play. After choosing the option, they rang out my wife, medications were filled in house and it was 3 times the quoted cost. At this point there are many people who are not assertive and being at the register, ready to pay and having a good experience with the actual doctor, they will not say no and will just pay. They know this fact full well. When I called and asked them to explain the 3X difference, the office manager said that since my wife left with the over priced medication, as you can see on the invoice, 1 medication was at the quoted price alone. We were told on the phone that they are not a pharmacy so they choose as a business model to up charge their clients out of convenience. After pushback we were told they would speak to the doctor to find out where the miscommunication may have been. This is where the medical jargon and circular logic comes into play; on the return phone call they told us they had not given two choices, but one option in the consultation for our pet. They told me the 2-week sedation course was actually sedation for the x-ray and that was the misunderstanding. Using medical jargon to the public is beyond frowned upon in the medical community and to give someone two choices, “choice A is this much and choice B is this much, the choice is yours” and then to turn around and say there was only a single choice given during the consultation and that we misunderstood because of the medical jargon being used is deceptive and absolutely unprofessional. As was stated at the beginning of this review, it’s a shame and if you made it this far, we were told we can pick up our records and go elsewhere after 20 years. I could have handled the situation with more grace, but the deception, lies, and unprofessionalism left me aghast and I went full scorched earth on the office manager. I will never do business with a predatory clinic again and it is a warning to every patron to stay diligent of costs as they have no moral compass on how to treat people when they bold face lie about a quote. If you’re quoted one price being less and it turns out to be 90% of the more expensive option then you know you are being deceived. We were deceived by them and they made no attempt towards recourse, since we had left the clinic with their excessively overpriced medications due to connivence, which is their admitted business practice. Get a second opinion before going forward with this clinic.

Fantastic experience: My dog was having a strange combination of symptoms- constipation, limping, yelping at random times. I had assumed I would have to pay for a lot of expensive testing. But they were able to treat my dog and put my mind to ease with a thorough exam and some meds. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Miyoshi and the vet tech Shilo (I think) are amazing. I’m so happy we switched to Holliday Veterinary. The visit was thorough and very informative. Dr. Miyoshi answered all of my questions and made sure I understood what was happening with my dog. I knew it was the right place when both the vet tech and vet got on the floor with my dog to make her more comfortable.

Fantastic experience: Edit July 2025: I wish I could just write a second review but understandably Google doesn’t allow that, so I’ll just edit my existing one. I have used this vet as my go-to since I wrote my original review years ago. I moved to a new city a year and a half ago so I now live about an hour’s drive away and I still go to this vet as my only/primary vet. I recently adopted a new kitty (Monkey) and of course, took her here as well for that initial checkup, and they just reaffirmed that this is “my” vet forever. This new baby wasn’t quite used to me so I wasn’t a comforting presence and she was very scared when we first showed up. She kept jumping off the exam table and trying to hide under the bench, so the vet tech actually SAT ON THE FLOOR and did her initial exam from under the bench with her. After she got her vitals she gave her some churu and left the room. When the vet came in, I put Monkey back on the exam table and she was just happy and purring from then on, she didn’t try to jump down anymore and was purring so much that they had a hard time listening to her heart. She let the vet poke and prod her and took her vaccinations without even flinching, got some more churu, and left the office an extremely happy girl. I don’t know how they continue to amaze me with their patience and love for these pets. My girl Coral (mentioned in my original review) never even growls let alone hisses anymore when we go here, she adores them about as much as I do. I genuinely can’t praise you guys enough and I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Thank you for everything you do. ——— Original Review from ~3 Years Ago ——— I recently moved to SLC and needed to find a new regular vet for my cat. I cannot recommend this place enough. Both the tech and the vet were incredibly patient with my girl, brought out treats to gain her trust, and were very gentle and sweet with her, even when she was hissing at them. My cat is very scared of the vet and gets very vocal and hissy, which puts most vets off, but this vet office just wanted to do everything they could to make HER comfortable and happy. They even sprayed a calming spray in her room before bringing us in! They were also very interested in her history and genuinely cared about every aspect of it, much to my surprise. They actually remembered everything that I wrote on her new patient intake form, down to the small details! I keep a folder of her records from ERs and vets she’s been to before, and every other vet we’ve been to maybe, at most, wanted to glance at it - but this office scanned all of those records into their system to make sure they had her full history. I was incredibly impressed with this vet office and 100% plan on returning here, and cannot recommend them enough, especially for those with pets that are maybe nervous going to a vet. My girl was the calmest she’s ever been at an office before.

The staff was super friendly, and both Dr. K and the tech were wonderful, making my dog feel so comfortable. They answered all my questions, gave me great food recommendations, and even provided two free samples. Dr. K explained to me all the breed related potential issues to watch for, but assured me that my baby is in perfect health. Truly a 5-star experience!

Despite being busy, the staff welcomed us with compassion and didn't hesitate to jump into action. The vet and techs were gentle, thorough, and genuinely caring—not just toward my kitten, but toward me as well. They explained everything clearly and made sure we left with a solid plan for recovery. Fantastic experience: My cat and I have been seeing Dr. Monica Milstein for about a year now. She is a fantastic veterinarian. She explains everything very well, and is far more thorough and transparent than other vets we’ve seen in the past. We’ll definitely be sticking with her for as long as possible. Also, all of the staff at Holladay Veterinary Hospital are so sweet, patient, efficient, and just genuinely good at what they do. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Fantastic experience: I just moved here and was very diligent in finding a good vet for my pups. Booking was available right away, staff was so friendly and nice to my dog. They really took their time to explain care for my dog after a small injury of his and recommended products that really helped him heal quickly.

Fantastic experience: Dr K. Is an incredible vet! He treated my cat like my cat was HIS own cat, extremely thorough yet gentle, he took his time to examine the pet and was sure to check everything! I was very impressed, please take your pet to this vet practice and if Dr K is examining your pet, it will be a great appointment! I’d give 10 stars if I could :)

Negative experience: I have had many wonderful experiences at this vet, and recently the worst. I would never go see Dr. B ever. She lacks basic empathy for animals and people. It seems like she just wants to milk, more money out of senior dogs, and is denying basic care to my dog. Avoid her like the plague, I would highly recommend Dr. Pratt or Dr. McLain.

Fantastic experience: My first time here as I’m a new dog owner and I loved it. Scheduling was easy, my dog was seen right on time, and both the tech and Dr Lohse were friendly, knowledgeable and clearly cared about animals. Glad to have found this place. Update: I’ve had a couple of follow-up visits for annual exams and both have also been great. Excellent hospital with people that clearly care about animals.

Fantastic experience: I didn’t know customer service in a veterinary office could make such a difference, but Holladay Veterinary Clinic stands out like no other for the way they treat pets and owners. We’ve been going to them for 1.5 years and every time anyone in our family walks in, we’re treated with the same warmth, friendliness, patience, and overall joy. The techs fawn over our pets and seem sincere; every doctor there is smart, willing to explain anything in-depth, and obviously committed to caring for animals. They’re friendly on the phone. They’re friendly early in the morning. They’re friendly when the waiting room is full. You get my drift… We have multiple dogs and cats and feel a true sense of peace and security having this clinic caring for everyone. They’re exceptional.

Fantastic experience: We went in for a first time wellness check, there was one tech in particular who was so friendly and patient with Dewey. I’m kicking myself for not remembering her name! She did everything to make the environment as stress free as possible, letting them smell the tools, lots of treats, letting him stay on my lap, lots of praise. Amazing work. He is a very anxious puppy due to his past and before he was sent to the shelter and got to us, i appreciate her kindness and all my newness/questions with taking care of a him! She listened to my concerns very closely, I’m very happy with their service and will continue to choose them!

Fantastic experience: I’m new to the area and I don’t have a vet. My neighbor recommended Holladay Veterinarian Hospital, so I called and they were able to get my dog in the same day. Everyone from the front desk, to the doctor’s assistant, to the doctor, was very kind and knowledgeable. The doctor was able to diagnose the growth in between my dog’s toes as a canine papillomavirus. He explained what it was and gave me medication for it, and said it should eventually go away on its own. I feel the office visit, the thorough exam, and the medication was a very reasonably priced! I highly recommend Holladay Veterinarian Hospital.

Negative experience: I feel extremely ripped off. I was charged $423 for basic labs, rabies vaccine, leukemia vaccine, and exam for my 5 year old cat. I was given an estimate for a dental cleaning with X-rays for $1400 minimum. I just learned that a nearby vet charges a base of less than $700 for the same dental care including blood work. I had assumed that any nearby vet clinic would be similarly priced, but apparently it really pays to shop around.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Pratt is amazing! You don’t feel like you’re rushed in and out of the door, my puppy had the time of her life haha and didn’t even know that she had gotten her vaccinations done. He truly cares about his patients and takes the time to get to know you. Cannot recommend enough!

Fantastic experience: Receptionist was kind, caring and she got my furry baby Daisy in same day. Vet tech waskind and caring for Daisy. Dr Madison Williams, introduced herself, friendly, knowledgeable, caring and compassionate. They took excellent care of Daisy, started antibiotic eye drops and PDR eye drops to help ulcer in her eye heal. Anti-inflammatory to decrease pain. Daisy is doing better every day! I'm so thankful for all staff at Hollady Vet Hospital. They are the Best! I highly recommend Holladay Vet Hospital for care of your furry babies! Thank you!!

Negative experience: Recent visit 3/13/25. They know my dog, Seth, and his history. It’s extremely difficult for Seth to come to the vet. Furthermore, I made an appointment the last two tech visits and waited 25 plus minutes. My little dog sits in my lap shaking. I wish they could carry out the reason for the visit in a timely matter. Both times the lady at the front told me all the techs are with patients. Maybe they could call and give a more current time frame if they know a tech isn’t going to be available. I’ve been coming here for about 2.5 years. Today, I had an appointment at 10:15a. The technician was very thorough. He told me the doctor would be in in 5-10 minutes. At 11:10 (nearly an hour after my scheduled appointment) a lady came in asking for money for a PAW plan that hasn't been paid. I walked out at 11:20 after waiting over an hour for the doctor. I had a little dog with me who has an anxiety issue and just shakes when he's at the vet. The vet knows my dog's history. One hour of shaking in a room was too much for me to handle. I'm fully aware as an APRN (nurse practitioner) that these places get busy. I've had other issues here in the past but have had good experiences with my dog's current vet, but this wait was too much for me today. I had a friend who had his own doctor's appointment and I had a lot to do today. By the way, I was told that the doctor was busy due to the urgent care (walk ins) of some patients. However, I was always told in the past this hospital doesn't take walk-ins (emergencies). I'm not sure what to do now, but I mostly likely will not be back. I'm giving an extra star for the thoroughness of the vet tech.

Fantastic experience: As a long time pet owner, we decided to change veterinarians with our new dog. I give this place 100\10 stars. The free coffee station was a huge perk, and the attention to detail and thoroughness by the veterinarian and tech was highly appreciated.

Positive experience: We're searching for a new vet, as ours is retiring. We visited Holladay to get a feel for their facility. Initially, I had to circle their parking lot three times to find a parking space. Their lobby is small and compact (making it a little tricky with reactive dogs). The facility is clean and the staff nice, but not overly engaging with my dogs. My biggest concern for this location is how busy they are. Makes me feel like just another customer running through their facility. Lacking that personal touch that makes me feel like they want to get to know my dogs and have me as a client. The vet tech and veterinarian who saw us were very nice and friendly; they spent time with us and asked good questions.

Fantastic experience: The nurses and Doctor was amazing with Oakley!! She was not afraid at all. She went right to them and loved them back. Listened and responded to there questions and was a trooper. They got me in last minute when they were booked as I was panicking about her shaking and concerned about her legs and yelping. I love this hospital they are amazing with animals and humans too ‍⬛❤️❤️

Negative experience: This place is overpriced and does not provide good service. I took both my dogs there for several years. We could never get an appointment for emergencies, and hardly ever were seen by the same vet more than once - so they don't really know your dogs and their conditions. I finally decided to try somewhere else for their annual exams this year. We got much more personalized and tailored care the first visit. Just now, I tried to schedule a simple anal glands expression appointment with a vet tech and was told they couldn't do it because they weren't up to date on their exam. I said we had gone somewhere else and I could bring those records. They said they still couldn't see them. The reason I want to go here for a simple anal glands expression is that they are close, and the new vet I'm going to is further away. The fact that they won't take paperwork from another local vet on their health status is a perfect example of why we left in the first place. I really don't know how they get so many good reviews. I've never been impressed with the service or care.

Fantastic experience: The provider I saw this time was the absolute best I have ever seen at the clinic. He really cared for me and my sweet cat who has an ear infection. Even told me that likely she was allergic to her food and that’s why her ears were so waxy and why she’s been dealing with vomiting often on her whole life.

Negative experience: ****REVISED REVIEW**** I have been a client of Holladay Vet for the lifetime of two beloved pets, despite their higher cost, because I felt that their service was good and they had helped thoughtfully throughout the years. I found a dog on the side of the road and rescued him to foster him. I went in to get him checked out so that I could know about any health problems before he was adopted to his forever home, and to get him some immunizations just in case he was behind. During this appt they signed me up for a Paw Plan, stating that would be the cheapest option and not mentioning that it would be several hundred dollars when I canceled the plan at his adoption. So here we are, I have spoken to their billing department (Quentin who was rude and aggressive from the beginning) and their manager (Brittney who spoke to me with a complete lack of empathy and told me it wasn’t her job to explain to me why we couldn’t come to a compromise over +-$100), neither of whom has been able to explain to me why I should be paying hundreds of dollars for an adopted dog to get two immunizations when I could have gone any number of other places for immunizations that would have costed me less than the Paw Plan payments. They were rude and completely uninterested in a compromised cost, and they have absolutely lost my business forever. Don’t expect for any longevity of a perfect client who has paid tens of thousands of dollars over the years, to get you any special consideration. Just a small amount of compromise would have left me feeling better about the interaction and about Holladay Vet in general. I would STRONGLY suggest that Holladay Vet invest in some customer service with their billing. The vet techs and people working at the desk clearly have some; it would be a good idea to clean up the back half so that people like myself don’t feel so betrayed and taken advantage of. *******+++++++++++++++ What can I say? They are the BEST! I had my previous pup with this vet for 13 years and they treated us incredibly well, accommodating to schedules, kind to both myself and my pup, knowledgeable, educated so I could make decisions rather than throwing only expensive options at us for things that came up, sensitive with his end-of-life care… and just had our new pup in for his first visit. The vet tech Emma was knowledgeable and generous with her time, the vet Miyoki (she is new to me) was also kind and knowledgeable, just like the other vets I have seen in the past here. Their pricing is pretty standard, I’ve never felt like they were asking more than fair. I would choose them over and over again.

Negative experience: Loved this place. I think we have been a customer for 5+ years with 2 dogs. Last week I called to get a quote on spaying my puppy. They said I had to come in for a visit and then they would provide me a quote. Trusting them I made the appoitment. They gave me the quote $1,300 dollars! It was shocking! I left feeling like a used car dealership baiting me in and then trying to take advantage of a loyal cusotmer. Called around and 3 other places were between $600-800. Sad to say Ill be switching providers

Fantastic experience: Truly caring and attentive staff who will love your pets like their own. I’ve been bringing my cats to them for years and even though I’ve moved further away I make the trek whenever it’s time for a checkup or I have a concern because their receptionists, techs, and doctors are some of the best I’ve met. My only complaint used to be that you had to schedule a few months in advance and urgent care appointments could be hard to come by, but this place is so responsive to the needs of their patients and their business that they recently hired 2 new doctors and now have tons of availability!
