Negative experience: ***LONG BUT PLEASE READ*** *DO NOT TAKE YOUR FUR BABY TO THIS HOSPITAL* They’re currently adverstising a free wellness exam with the cost of any other services!! DON’T FALL FOR IT. My 7 month morkie was perfectly fine before this visit. I took him on 02/28/26 Saturday for the free wellness exam. They said he was physically fine but also told me he wasn’t up to date on his vaccines (they took him out the room to give him his vaccine) which I later found out was a LIE, I purchased him from Petland and they confirmed this and provided documentation that he was in fact up to date. They then stated he needs to be on heartworm and flea worm medications. They gave me the medicine to give him when we got home, gave him the vaccine they said he needed. Late Sunday night - early Monday morning he woke up from his sleep in the middle of the night and went to use the bathroom! When I got up for work Monday morning I seen he didn’t make to his pads and his poop had cell membrane like tissue in it. Over the week it began to get worse so I took him back to address the issue at hand. While at the second visit 3/5/26, the tech came in asked questions, took notes and then took him out the room for vitals. The doctor later came in and checked his breathing and heart beat. The doctor stated he looked physically fine. Suggested we do a fecal test and the tech wasted no time bringing me the bill after everything else being a long wait. I rescheduled to come back the next day. Unfortunately I will not be returning because this morning 3/6/26 my puppy had BLOOD in his stool along with very thick white cloudy tissue like substance in his stool. I will be looking for another vet as I have read these reviews and refuse to return my Corso to this “BIGPHARMA” scheme of a hospital.

Fantastic experience: Vet and Vet Tech were absolutely wonderful. They explained everything very clear and helped ease all of my stress with my puppy!! They were also extremely open about pricing! So grateful I decided to take my puppy here! I would absolutely come again if I ever needed to!

Fantastic experience: My experience at Sunset was truly exceptional during a very difficult time. I initially chose them because their consultation fees are much more reasonable than other clinics (which often charge over $200 just for the initial talk). Unlike other specialists, they didn't require a referral, and the receptionist was helpful enough to coordinate the surgeon's hours so my cat could be seen the same day. Dr. Woods was phenomenal. She was compassionate and, within minutes, was the first specialist to provide a clear path forward. After quick X-rays, she confirmed the diagnosis in less than an hour. While surgery wasn't an option, her honesty saved me from the "diagnostic loop" I experienced elsewhere. Previously, I went to Gulf Coast, where I was quoted $1,700–$2,500 just for testing—not even treatment. It was overwhelming and made me feel hopeless. I truly wish I had come to Sunset first; I might have had more time to explore options. Now, we are focusing on palliative care, but I am grateful for the clarity Dr. Woods provided. The facility is also spotless, and the coffee/tea station was a thoughtful touch during the short wait.

Fantastic experience: My spunky 17 year-old cat had a major hypoglycemic seizure, and her heart stopped while I was out of town. Her vet brought her back to life and transferred her here for hospital care. Given her age and the trauma, The outcome did not look good so we almost put her to sleep. To our surprise she perked up when she saw us and had that will to live-so we opted to take her home and do home care where she was comfortable. They were nice and so supportive and never made me feel bad for not hospitalizing her. They sent us home with everything we needed and taught me how to use it. Fluids, meds… you name it. My old lady surprised everybody and has made a full recovery and is living her best life again. They kept me informed every step of the way, even though it was over the phone until I arrived. Thank you for everything and for keeping the communication going while I was headed to you guys.

Fantastic experience: The day we visited, the clinic was very busy. However, the technician and the doctor never rushed through their assessment of our dog. They really showed concern and compassion. It really put our fears at ease since it was our first visit and the matter for visiting was urgent.

Fantastic experience: I had an incredible experience. I walked in, was seen immediately, and they were upfront about the prices and even offered alternatives. Ultimately, I went with the care at this facility because I could see how much they truly cared. The vet techs and the doctors were not only knowledgeable, they were very kind and personable. It made a very stressful situation feel more manageable. I would recommend this animal hospital.

Fantastic experience: I always get such great service and attention for my cat, Katniss at Sunset Animal Hospital. I took her in for a manicure/pedicure:) or a nails trim recently. She was not fussing at me on the way home. She also had an overnight stay some years ago when she was having some issues and the people tending to her watched her closely and took good care of her. They said that all the veterinarians and vet techs liked her so much that it took a while for them to say their goodbyes to Katniss:)

Fantastic experience: It was a little busy, so we had to wait a little bit we were put a room right away and got incredible care! The manager, Kevin, was so so sweet with our baby Lucy and the doctor as well. They eased all of our concerns and hear us out. God forbid we ever had emergency again, but we will definitely be going back here if we ever need to!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Chen and Stephanie made the grim experience of finding out my cat has cancer much better. Stephanie is very compassionate and very sweet with my cat. Dr. Chen has a great bedside manner and is funny but pragmatic. I was seen very quickly and the facility is very welcoming and pleasant. The receptionist was also very sweet, very grateful for this animal hospital and that they are 24/7.

Negative experience: Despite usually receiving great care; tonight’s visit fell very short. In & out in about 30 minutes with my pet worse than when they came. Substandard care but paid bloated fees. Service here definitely depends on the vet present so proceed with caution.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic experience at Sun Set Animal Hospital! Dr. Woods listened carefully, respected my input, and prescribed the right treatment for my schnauzer’s eye. She responded immediately, and I left confident she was in great hands. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: We came to this place in need of a certain medicine that our local clinic provided but was closed...but this facility welcomed, and took care of our pets needs immidiately. They had what we needed, and they have a great first time customer culture. Great, an helpful staffing. Great vet tech and veterinary that gave us useful information, and listened to our concerns. Great place! Favorited for in case we need to set an appointment.

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank Sunset Animal Hospital enough for the incredible care they gave my 11-year-old Belgian Shepherd, Daisy. After she was attacked by another dog at the park yesterday, I was scared and overwhelmed, but a top-notch dog trainer, Jon, recommended this place — and I’m so grateful he did. From the moment we walked in, the entire team moved quickly to help Daisy and showed genuine kindness and compassion to both of us. They were patient, gentle, and took the time to make sure Daisy felt safe while also reassuring me every step of the way. What could have been a very stressful experience turned into one filled with professionalism and heart. If you’re looking for a veterinary team that truly cares, I 10/10 recommend Sunset Animal Hospital. Thank you for treating Daisy like family!

Fantastic experience: We had an incredible experience with Sunset. My husband and dog were unexpectedly mauled by a dog this week on their daily neighborhood walk. I rushed my dog to Sunset then spent the day in the ER with my husband. The vets and techs kept me so well informed all day as I was crazy with adrenaline and shock, so that I never had to worry about not knowing how Louie was doing. The surgeon, Dr. Wesson, was incredibly kind and supportive when she called me to tell me about the extent of his injuries, which were severe. But because of her skill and the amazing team at Sunset, my boy made it through the surgery and progressed well despite how severe his injuries were. They let me come visit and accommodated my visits with extra time when able and showed me so so much kindness and thorough care. The techs Tori and Brent were so informative and patient when I called overnight every 2 hours in a panic and asking so many questions. Dr. Woods took amazing care of Louie during the day, always gave me thorough updates, and was so comprehensive while treating his injuries. The front desk staff, all of them, were very friendly and helpful, always greeted me with a smile and a level of urgency and sincereness that was required for what we were going through. We are so grateful for the staff at Sunset and can’t believe we now get to take our boy home in recovery, after thinking he had been taken from us. I am just so thankful for everything.

Positive experience: Sunset Animal Hospital did a good job treating my kitty. The wait time wasn't super long, they got him in and out, and the customer service was good. The place was also clean. Although the bill was pretty expensive, that's to be expected for an emergency visit. Would recommend!!

Negative experience: I recently had multiple visits to the clinic and while some staff were professional and appropriate I was overwhelmingly disappointed and concerned with various aspects of care. These concerns include but are not limited to: -Billing errors (coding errors amounting to hundreds of dollars of unnecessary billing) -Medication errors (being sent home with a used liquid medication and a used syringe) -Front desk staff giving advice inconsistent with professional medical guidance (being advised to disregard packaging instructions, instruction on feeding in direct opposition to the vet’s instruction) -Poor bedside manner (dismissiveness and a general lack of awareness of my pet’s chart) -General rudeness and unprofessionalism. I am so grateful that my dog is doing well. But I am deeply concerned about the overall experience and hope it will be addressed.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience with Dr. Enrique and Vikkie as well as the front desk staff. I really appreciated that they were able to help when I needed it, especially after normal working hours

Fantastic experience: Sunset is the best. They took care of my dog when she got hurt. They were quick and took such good care of her. Everyone was friendly and very knowledgeable. Also, surprisingly affordable!

Fantastic experience: I would like to give a thank you the the doctor and nurses who help me with Chase. I didn’t get to bring Chase back home with me, but he and I were treated with great care as I had to have him euthanized because he was in so much pain. Again, thank you everyone for helping me.

Fantastic experience: We took my cat on an emergency last night and the veterinarian and techs we interacted with were very kind. Pricing was very transparent and they let us choose what we wanted to do (what we could afford). Considering making them all my cats primary veterinarian after how well they took care of my kitty.

Fantastic experience: I came in during the freeze because my 5-month old Pomeranian puppy was acting strangely and I was terrified. The lady I spoke to on the phone before coming was incredibly kind and knowledgeable, and helped calm me down. When I arrived, she was there to greet me and already had prepared for my arrival. My puppy started throwing up in the lobby, and immediately a tech came out and took care of her and took her to the back to examine her. I was given a room to wait in, and the vet came in and explained that she didn’t find anything unusual during the exam, and educated me on what the issue could be. She recommended x-rays and a blood test, and they gave me an estimate of how much it would cost before proceeding. The original tech that took care of my puppy in the lobby came back into the room and explained another possible diagnosis that she and the vet thought it was. They gave my puppy a shot and sent us home. My puppy is happy and healthy and acting like her normal self a day later. I’m so thankful! The people at Sunset Animal Hospital are incredibly kind and intelligent. They know what they’re doing and I’m so thankful they treated and helped my sweet, little puppy. Will return here if anything happens again, and I HIGHLY recommend Sunset Animal Hospital! Thank you again to the amazing Team Members that interacted with me.

Negative experience: I bought in my cat because he was throwing up and I could tell something was up since he wasn’t eating, using the restroom and just throwing up and being lethargic. They estimated a treatment plan for around $1.24k only for tests to see what’s going on. We didn’t have enough money for it so they just gave him fluids and told us he’d be good, also they said his vitals looked good. He passed away the same night. Mind you we waited 5 hours just to not even get a proper response while obviously knowing something is wrong. My sweet brave boy is gone.

Fantastic experience: My dog was pretty sick after getting into some bad food for his gut. They took great care of him quickly, and reassured me everything would be okay. After getting home he was back to himself a couple hours later. Extremely thankful for these guys and their care.

Fantastic experience: Great people - great service! They really took the time to hear all my concerns and address them all. Left with zero unanswered questions. Amazing experience all around.

Fantastic experience: My dog had something wrong with his eye after having a dental procedure done elsewhere earlier in the day, I noticed when I picked him up after hours and I was extremely concerned. Sunset Animal Hospital was wonderful. First, they were patient and informative with my many questions over the phone while I was trying to decide whether to bring him in for after hours emergency care (very supportive and did not at all pressure me one way or the other). When I did ultimately bring my dog in after hours for emergency care, they were kind and efficient. We were seen right away, the techs were very professional, the veterinarian was able to quickly diagnose a corneal ulcer and a multi-pronged treatment plan, answer all my questions and set my mind at ease.

Fantastic experience: Staff was friendly and efficient. Paid more than I had anticipated but my cat is feeling better today. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: The place to go for fast and highly competent emergency vet care. We've had to come here twice for separate cat accidents. Each time, we were seen very quickly. All staff is very nice and understanding. Something to be aware of is that, at least in emergencies, they will take your vet to the back to exam and treat. When you think about it, we do the same thing in human ERs for serious cases so it makes sense to do that for our pets too. We're lucky to live only minutes away from Sunset but it's worth the drive eben if you aren't!

Negative experience: We have been customers of this establishment for over 15 years (Finn is 16) we were shown to a waiting room and sit there for an hour and half and another 25 minutes in the lobby. And by the way we never seen a doctor or technician. I’m not sure what’s going on there but in the past I always given 5 stars. Very concerned,

Fantastic experience: Sunset Animal Hospital was a great option for close 24/7 emergency care. The tech on the phone was very kind as well as all the techs and manager on staff during our in person visit. You can tell they truly care for animals and love their jobs. I highly recommend. It is on the pricier side, but they are 24/7 so that’s expected for all hours care. They did everything they could to help us aide the lost dog we brought in. I can’t recommend them enough! Fantastic experience: Our pawson became really sick and I couldn't wait for the regular vet to open. I just showed up and they took great care of him. One day later he is back to his regular routine.

Fantastic experience: My geriatric cat wasn’t feeling well and needed an ultrasound. Scheduled one with my regular vet. They wanted her to fast after 10pm and be dropped off by 8am where she would wait for the mobile ultrasound unit to show up. There wasn’t a specific time for her ultrasound and the front office said she should be ready for pickup around 4pm! The whole entire day! Without food or water! I could not do that to her, especially with her being old, dehydrated and not feeling well. I started calling every vet clinic in town for other options. Once again Sunset Animal Hospital had the best option to offer. Their ultrasound technician comes in after 5pm and you drop your pet off. Testing is done and 3-4 hours later you pick your pet up. But it worked out my pet’s appt was even FASTER. The tech had arrived early and they called and asked if I could come in immediately. I did. We had a consult with the vet to determine what needed to be done and why, they took my pet for the ultrasound and shortly she was back. Vet had results and a game plan. All in it was 2-3 hrs and we were home. No fasting, no day spent at the vet in a carrier, no unnecessary added stress. What a nice outcome for an older pet. I will say things were working in our favor. The waiting area wasn’t filled with any emergencies and there were only a couple other pets there for their appts. All in all I’ve had several great experiences with the vets here, they’ve actually saved this girl twice before with their expertise and care!

Negative experience: I took in a stray kitten who was seemingly not looking well after it wasn’t getting better from a previous doctor visit. Technician was doing an evaluation and agreed the kitten look pale and temperature was low. Vet came in said it was healthy and found nothing wrong. I kept voicing that I was concerned that it was pale, not eating as much and even started walking funny. Vet informed me it was just “kitten things”. Vet even held the kitten and while the kitten was obviously trying to wiggle out, let the kitten drop on the floor?? I left not feeling so anxious because again vet said kitten looked healthy and to just give it time. Kitten ended up passing away the next day.

Fantastic experience: Thank goodness Sunset is open 24/7. My pup somehow got a 3 in gash on his hip at 19:30. I drove him straight to Sunset and Dr. Enrique got him cleaned up and stitched up in under an hour. The staff is wonderful as well. Extreme kind and friendly.

Fantastic experience: Bud my cat was sneezing and I was told to turn on hot water for about 15 minutes and I’m doing this with him since I had the flu. Thank you all workers professional and pleasant

Fantastic experience: This place goes above and beyond to ensure your furry friends are compassionately cared for. I brought in a kitten that I had found outside, and he was in desperate need of flea removal, among other basic checks. Not only did I get my first exam free, but we also received free frontline treatment thanks to their gracious non-profit backers who offer this service as a first time free-bee. The techs and doctor were fantastic, and really showed a deep level of compassion to animals. Another fantastic thing is I never felt pressured or obligated to receive a service they reccomended, and their prices are competitive! They also listen to you, and value your input in making care decisions. The facility itself is also very nice and quite clean. Do not hesitate to trust Sunset with your precious animals, because they really understand how precious they are to you.

Positive experience: The doctor and nurses were fantastic. They have brought back a pet from death to life. However, their office staff I’m extremely disappointed with. While I was there having one of my pets treated someone broke into my vehicle and stole thousands of dollars worth of work supplies. There are cameras that faced towards that parking lot and I was told I would receive a copy for a police report after numerous attempts they have failed to provide me that courtesy. So I would rate this place a three as the medical staff wonderful they’re back office is terrible.

Fantastic experience: Very good experience. My dog broke his toes, and I made a phone call. They immediately answered and told me to come. I was seen immediately. Got x rays done confirming injuries and was prescribed treatment. The doctor and staff were fantastic. They were understanding and courteous.

Positive experience: We were able to get an appointment day of which was great & everyone was very kind. 3 stars only because no prices were explained ahead of time except the $172 fee to see the vet. When I went to pay my bill before leaving it was $450. The charges all made sense based on what they did for my cat, but I was surprised that no one told me “do you want to do X test? It will cost $X.” The front desk attendant told me that the vet “should have” done that and she wasn’t sure why they didn’t.

Fantastic experience: I just wanted to take the time to THANK the staff here! I brought my big boy smoky here and they took so good care of him, they brought him back right away, evaluated him and came to talk to us about what was going on and what treatment options were available for him. They were caring and fast! They did not waste time for my big boy. Thank you guys so much! My boy walked out of there a new dog!

Fantastic experience: I haven’t price checked but felt charge for exam was exceedingly high, $171.50.

Negative experience: It’s a No for me…I hate to do this as I know they provide a much needed service but there is some really low hanging fruit that can make this place significantly better. I called ahead and was told it was a great time to bring my sick cat in. So I left work and raced there only to be put in a room with no updates for almost an hour and a half. After asking the desk for an update a woman came blasting in the room without introducing herself and asked the EXACT SAME questions I was asked at the desk 1.5 hours earlier. Her entry into the room was so aggressive my cat immediately hissed and growled at her. Had no clue if she was a vet or a tech or what…and then she left. At this point I waited briefly before walking back to the front desk for an update. I was fortunate enough to catch a manager who apologized and was going to look into it. Mind you there aren’t even chairs, there is a hard wooden bench for 4.5 hours. Eventually met a vet who provided very little confidence. Dismissed lab values that would be critical stating “that happens often” in cats because they move (my cat was sedated for blood draw). They kept my cat overnight with the promise of a phone call in the morning at 830am. Never got an update or call. I went and picked my cat up again with the promise of a call from a vet as they were not available when I picked her up. Never got one. Update: Still never spoke to a vet! 3.6k and never got an answer from a qualified professional as to what happened and why

Fantastic experience: The staff here are extremely kind and accommodating! They quickly identified the problem with my dog, and he’s already feeling so much better after one day of treatment. Reasonably priced as well!

Fantastic experience: Omg I love this hospital I’m not from Houston I was in town on vacation had to rush my baby In they took good care of my tea cup Yorkie she had a infection she had to have emergency surgery the doctor and stuff was amazing they work with you with prices they overall great and love animals I would highly recommend

Negative experience: As soon as I got there with my sick cat, I was given a bill of $750, without asking what happened, then they took my cat. I was left waiting for at least 45 minutes to have someone come to update me about my cat. Of course, I already had 2 people asking to pay and sign papers. I was let in to see my cat after an hour and a half. I was not given a diagnosis, and they were pushing to keep my cat overnight for monitoring (with a bill of at least $4,000). I took my cat home, with the understanding that she might die. Did not feel they were compassionate nor helpful.

Fantastic experience: This hospital has such an amazing staff! They were incredibly friendly and stayed calm while they explained everything clearly to help treat my cat with so much care and kindness.

Negative experience: The free first exam is a SCAM!! They told me that my cat looks fine and sent us home. The next day I call them about the same problem and now for them to help me it’s an additional $160 appointment fee?!? I wasn’t going to say anything but I’m at another Vet and they are actually doing some work. Letting me know what he needs and showing me what’s off with him.

Negative experience: My puppy was diagnosed with parvo, and this was at a 24-hour hospital around 2:00 AM—the place was basically empty. So I still don’t understand why we were being rushed like we were holding up a line that didn’t exist. The employee who handled us was a big, heavyset white woman with a loud, blunt, no-nonsense presence standing behind the doo, speaking fast, and acting like our panic was an inconvenience. While my girlfriend was on the phone crying, we were pressured to make an immediate decision as if this was a sales transaction, not a medical emergency for a puppy. Parvo treatment is expensive, and we had just gotten the pup, but the way they moved felt cold and predatory, like the priority wasn’t care, it was payment. The moment we hesitated, we were hit with, essentially, figure it out right now or go somewhere cheaper. In that moment, it didn’t feel like “urgent care.” It felt cruel like they were willing to let our dog suffer if we couldn’t pay immediately. That’s why we left: not because we didn’t care, but because the way we were treated felt straight-up heartless. RIP Trooper.

Negative experience: What a complete joke and waste of time. After driving 20 minutes to get an exam for my dog, the ladies at the front desk informed me both doctors are in surgery for the next few hours. How do you run a clinic with no available doctors for walk-ins? They should have doctors for surgeries and a doctor available for exams.

Fantastic experience: We had an urgent need to have our family cat checked and visited Sunset Animal Hospital for the first time. It was wonderful being an impressive facility and professional staff!

Fantastic experience: Yesterday Thanksgiving day. I found a massive lump on my dogs neck. The entire team staff. From my first phone call. Walking in to a supportive calming team. I am so happy. The price was much better than most. Emergency rooms ! And my boy feels so much better today. Thank you. My sis recommended this place. So glad she did.

Fantastic experience: My Yorkie Primrose was going into seizures. Took her to Urgent care by Myerland and they referred me to Sunset. I was a nut worrying about her. But so many people were calm and helpful. She stayed the night and was ready to Thanksgiving day. Grateful for everyone at Sunset!

Fantastic experience: I want to sincerely thank the teams working under Dr. Cho on Thanksgiving Eve and Dr. Lopez-Calleja on Thanksgiving Day. I came in extremely stressed after unexpectedly fostering an abandoned dog who ended up making my own dog sick. They kindly took us in both times, treated both dogs with so much patience, and showed real kindness even while spending their holiday away from their own families. I felt cared for, understood, and never rushed. I will always recommend this hospital and I’m grateful to call my dog a new patient here.

Fantastic experience: I have never left a review, but I just want to thank Milli ( I can’t remember her name) she was the receptionist that took my call and answered all my questions. She took her time explaining everything, was nice enough to call my vet and get everything transferred to Sunset. I walked in she received me with a warm smile, walked me to the room, asked if I needed water. I felt very welcomed, I told her I had back issues and she gave me her chair to sit, everyone else was very nice and caring. It was a very good experience and I will be transferring all my stuff to Sunset. Thank you Sunset

Fantastic experience: First time visit was an emergency situation. Everyone was so nice and comforting. They took my dog quickly and started running exams. They communicated throughout the whole process and provided me with an estimate before doing anything. So thankful that they are around and are open 24/7. Forever thankful for the care and support they gave my dog.

Negative experience: I brought my pet to this hospital to get euthanized due to health problems . And the three receptionist in the front laughed at us as we walked to the room . I didn't understand what was so hilarious about us walking to the room carrying our furr baby in our arms with tears running down our cheeks . It was so hilarious to three of them that they went to the back room to laugh out loud that's very disrespectful and very unprofessional. for them to be the first impression to your business is very disappointing because you have great drs and nurses . It's a delicate matter to us specially loosing our furr baby we felt offended by that and uncomfortable. On the other hand The staff that took care of us during this hard process were kind , the DR in charge of giving the medication and the nurse were very caring and patient with us through this process . You need more receptionist with the same characteristics like the drs and nurses !

Negative experience: When i went with one of my baby cats almost dying and kept crying for help the nurse (a woman) kept telling me to put her to sleep she kept repeating it over and over and we told her no cause we have faith and she offered again we ended up paying 400 for medicine and hes living a healthy life now but im never going back. i do appreciate this one guy who helped us with lola and leo he was very patient with us so thank you !

Fantastic experience: I love Sunset Animal Hospital. They always treat my cats with love and compassion. Every vet and tech is highly qualified and respectful of my pets' needs and my concerns. The vets seem to be able to make a diagnosis and treat what other vets miss. The only complaint I have is that dogs and cats are not separated. The dogs are always barking loudly, and it upsets my cats. It would be better to have some sort of separation. Even in the exam rooms, the barking sounds extremely loud. That is not good for other sick animals (and their caretakers).

Fantastic experience: Took my 5 year old Shih Tzu as a walk in for stomach issues. All the staff was amazing and super sweet. Made me consider making them my permanent vet. Highly recommend and would visit again!

Fantastic experience: Dr Wesson is a true blessing and a lifesaver. My dog Chanel was seconds away from being put to sleep at another doctor’s recommendation. Two other vets had already given up on her and said she wouldn’t make it. At the very last minute I decided not to go through with it, and thank God I did, because Dr Wesson showed up. She stepped in with faith, care, and confidence when everyone else said it was impossible. She took the risk, performed the surgery, and saved my dog’s life. Chanel is home now and recovering because of her. I will never forget what Dr Wesson did for my family. She’s not just a great doctor, she’s proof that God works through people. If you ever need someone who truly cares and fights for your pet, she’s the one.

Negative experience: I would not suggest this animal hospital to anyone that needs IMMEDIATE care for their beloved pet. My aunt took her tiny dog , Ivy, to this hospital last night because she was in severe pain.. Leaving puddles of blood behind and unresponsive to her. The vet told her it was possible kidney or bladder stones and her cost would be $1,000 for all fees including surgery, as they stated, this could lead to death if not performed. They would not perform surgery until my Aunt had the funds to pay them, which would have been the very next morning (this morning). They let poor Ivy suffer through the night to await the funds to perform surgery. Unfortunately, Ivy did not make it. She passed away early morning due to this.. Our family is very upset! It was an evil decision on the hospitals part, why not help the poor babygirl by performing the surgery and then hold her until her owner brings the payment the very next morning?! You let her die when you’re supposed to help! It’s cruel to think that humans would rather wait for money than help a poor dog in need. RIP Ivy, you will always be in our hearts.

Fantastic experience: They knew we were coming as I had Called earlier and as soon as I walked in with my fur baby, they took her right away!!! We came in coz our baby was choking , it was the scariest thing that has happened , but they swept her off. My arms to take care of her immediately!! They were very calm and quick, kept us informed throughout out. This is our first time in this hospital, soo thankful they were near and open 24/7!!! The hospital was very clean and every staff was friendly and calm but efficient!

Fantastic experience: I have been to Sunset many times for emergencies and each time they are so helpful and patient with me and my anxiety over a sick animal, thorough with the exam and tests and wonderful at explaining what is going on. Most recently my dog was very sick but it was a huge relief once he was in your hands. And now he’s doing amazing thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: I adopted a feral cat several years ago and he lives outside. Confirming his vet appointments in advance is an issue because I am not sure when he will show up. I love having a reliable vet that is open 24/7. My cat has received excellent care (emergency surgery on an injured eye, neutered, vaccines, thorough health exams) from numerous doctors and I am very pleased with the service.

Positive experience: Friendly, helpful staff. Open and light. My dog did not express her usual reluctance to be at a vet. They knew all about requirements for transporting a dog to Hawaii. They accommodated us on the day we called. I highly recommend Sunset Animal Hospital

Fantastic experience: I had no money and my puppy was dying. At least I thought he was. They were so kind to me. Dr. Wood is awesome. I explained to them that I don’t get paid till the next day and she still did something to make him feel so much better he’s back running around like a crazy little puppy beating up on his own sister and Brother. If you want someone who really cares about animals and not just the money this is the place you still gotta pay them though because I’m surely taking my money back today because from my mind this is my animals new doctor thank y’all so much for your kindness and your hospitality, and your understanding of how much I love My animals

Fantastic experience: we are longtime clients of Sunset and they really helped us yesterday when we popped in unannounced with a stray dog we picked up. We got the best service and kindness from the staff! They helped us track down the previous owner since the dog was chipped and they helped to discount the bill a little to help pay for all the dogs meds and vaccines. I felt like there was a real partnership yesterday and we all had the dog's best interest in mind. I love Sunset Animal Hospital. Dr. Woods, Dr. Lane and Dr. Wesson are the best!

Fantastic experience: I’m so thankful for the Sunset animal hospital team and can’t recommend them enough! I’ve been taking my dogs here for the past 2 years and always know my babies are in good hands. I have a GSP with chronic ear infections and I always appreciate that sunset is able to work us in quickly for appointments. And last year, when our oldest dog was in the end stage of his life, we entrusted his care to sunset knowing they had our best interests in mind. They were incredibly compassionate with explaining everything that was happening with our dog and our options. The facility is gorgeous, clean, and extremely well kept. The staff always treat us with respect and kindness and they are prompt and attentive. Even though our dogs don’t love going to the vet, the techs and Drs are always patient and take their time making sure the pups are comfortable! I truly appreciate everything sunset has done for our family and our dogs, and can’t recommend them enough!

Negative experience: Going to Sunset Animal Hospital was one of the worst decisions I have ever made. There was no communication or compassion. I spent thousands of dollars for only 24 hours of care. My Precious baby is worse now than she was going in.

Fantastic experience: Had an emergency with my 1 yr old cat. Went in tonight (10/20) and arrived around 7:30p. I was checked in quickly, front desk clerk was nice, and told me I could go straight into a room. By the time I filled out the paperwork the clerk gave me up front, the vet tech Haley came into the room to do her assessment. Very nice and great bedside manner with my cat. Dr. Allen came in and was also very nice, very gentle with my baby, and took her time assessing her. She addressed all concerns I had, gave me the rundown on what to do for my cat, and sent us home. I’m flabbergasted with my experience here bc I’ve gone to other places with long wait times and sub par customer service. 10/10 in my book and if another emergency arises with any of my animals (hopefully not ) I’ll definitely be coming back. Thanks Haley & Dr. Allen you guys were a superb team.

Fantastic experience: Got to me within an hour of coming in on Sunday for an unexpected visit. Nice staff not over crowded, very clean. A little more on the expensive side but anticipated that cost for an emergency visit. Overall recommend sunset animal hospital.

Fantastic experience: I’m so glad I chose to use Sunset Animal Hospital as my vet for my cat, Hannah, over the past 13yrs. I have appreciated the fact that not only she was able to get routine visits taken care of there but also for more serious concerns after hours. She was diagnosed with kidney failure and was admitted to their ICU this week. She was given such great care and treated as if she was truly a family member. Dr. Rodriguez was very kind and compassionate as he explained her prognosis and options. I ultimately decided it was time that she have peace and made the hard decision to give her to heaven. The staff there, Alina and Tory/Tori, were so comforting and made one of the worst days of my life a little easier. Fantastic experience: We were having a wonderful evening walking around the 3-mile loop at Memorial Park. One of our doggies, was bit by something; possibly a snake. Closest animal ER was Sunset Animal Hospital. From the moment we walked in, they made us feel at ease. They kept us updated on our pets condition. Told us what they were doing, what was next steps, and how to care for him at home. I feel they cared about my pet as much as we do. I will always be grateful for their care of our doggie.

Negative experience: I had a very bad experience with Sunset Animal Hospital. Our dog needs two medications refilled, which were prescribed by Sunset, but they only allowed us to buy from them. After we bought from them twice, I made the requests for two consecutive days to ask them to send the prescription to our local pharmacy, but they didn't. Since we were running out of medicine, I stopped by the office to ask for sending prescription to pharmacy, but they refused and told me to go to other places to get prescription.

Fantastic experience: I am so grateful for the kind vets and vet techs at Sunset Animal Hospital. It was my first rush emergency with my pup and they were so kind, calm and answered any stupid question I had. I am beyond thankful! Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I had to visit as a walk in on a Sunday as my cat had been vomiting for more than 24 hours. The front desk was amazingly kind and efficient in checking me and my sweet kitty in. They promptly placed us in a room, which allowed me to let my cat wander which definitely helped him relax a little bit as he isn't a huge fan of car rides. It was not a long wait at all considering I was a walk in and they were already dealing with some critical cases. Dr. Pitts was amazingly kind, thorough, and compassionate in her examination and talking through our options. I am kicking myself for not remembering the fantastic veterinary technician's name, but she was just as amazing as the rest of the visit had been. My sweet kitty is on the mend and Sunset helped get him started ❤️ I am forever grateful for the team of veterinary rockstars.

Fantastic experience: Sunset Animal Hospital was closing and I brought in a rescued dog. They were kind enough to scan him for a chip and recommended where I should take him because of the lack of fur in patches. I would recommend them to everyone.
