Negative experience: I brought my cats to the clinic for a spay surgery but two days after, they started to vomit and have very sick symptoms. They were perfectly healthy and fine before I had brought them in, but started to get sick after I had picked them up from the clinic. I'm 100% sure that there was a virus in the clinic that wasn't dealt with and my cats were unfortunate to catch it because one of them had to be hospitalized. She was never like that until the day I got them spayed, the staff needs to be more aware and clean the place thoroughly, my friend's cat has also got sick as well while they were brought to this place for a spay as well. This has been a terrible experience in my life.

Negative experience: I made an appointment here for a general checkup for a stray kitten I rescued. I even called on the phone to understand the process. I drive all the way there and they say they refuse to look at a cat who could potentially be sick. Why waste my time on the phone and give me the go ahead to make an appointment?

Negative experience: I really wish I could say I had a positive experience at this emancipet, unfortunately Tuesdays are my only days off of the week currently and this is the only emancipet I can visit currently. During my visit they said they had no power during my initial visit made me an appointment to come back at 4:30 I check in early at 3:50 at. they take walk ins in front of me had a full lobby full of walk ins and only when I went to the front desk to make sure I was still in the list did an employee come after waiting an hour. I live an hour away an had to make two trips and then wait another hour while they helped walk ins. is the only day I can take care of my animals. I really don’t like to complain but the perception to me as a client and pet owner is that they really didn’t want to help me today. I regularly visit the emancipet on 290 freeway and I wish I could’ve today. I still managed to get my vet vaccinated today and for that I am grateful.

Positive experience: Recently took our dog here for heart worm treatment referred by another ver. I advised to Emancipet that our dog has been on Doxy since January (with resting months in between) and was told by emancipet that before he was due for his heartworm shot in October, he was to take 1050mg of doxcy (600mg in morning, 550mg at night), YES per day, before doing the injection. This raised a red flag as our boy has been on Doxy with initially starting 800mg a day (back in Jan) to eventually moving towards 1time a day at 400mg by June. However, the tech (we did not speak with a vet at all) advised due to his weight he would need this much. A week into the doxy, our boy was not being himself. To the point where he started to physically reject the pills, something hes NEVER done before. His appetite decreased, he stopped eating, and was having nausea episodes of vomiting. This wasn’t just a “oh he’s probably nauseous from the doxy” situation. This was surpassing nausea as something was seriously wrong with our fur baby. We took him to an emergency vet appointment where our vet (along with another vet at a different location) advised our dog should only be getting 10mg of doxy PER kg of weight PER DAY. Our dog weighs 115lbs =52kgs. This means his size indicates he should have been taking 520mg of doxy per day…NOT 1050mg. That is twice the limit for him which makes sense why he became sick and to reiterate this was more MG’s than what he had been previously prescribed since having him (which was relayed to tech) Given that he had responded well to Doxy in the past this was extremely scary for us as our dog was not himself for almost 2 weeks. Per our Vet suggestion, we have moved him now to 520mg a day and he showed immediate improvement within 2 days with only needing nausea medication for 1 day. Thank God, He is back to normal eating his kibble, something he wouldn’t even look at when put in front of him. And he loves to eat. His energy is back. I tried calling the number the first time, I had to leave a message for a call back which happened the following day, assuming they use an answering service of some kind. I wish there was someone I could speak to about this because this could have ended badly with our boy no longer being with us. I would really like an opportunity for a phone call so someone can explain what went wrong here and how it can be avoided in the future.

Fantastic experience: I Was sent here from another location that was closed for a post surgery check up and the drive was totally worth it. They were able to see me and others fairly quickly and I cannnot stress how kind everyone was. As soon as my kitten was given a room the team helping her was super kind and made sure she didn't feel scared. The staff was also kind to me as well and explained everything to me so I understood.

Fantastic experience: We go to Emancipet because a group of neighbors and we are trapping unfixed feral cats and they do a great job and are affordable. The staff are also super sweet.

Fantastic experience: Update: this time years later and was able to get an appointment within 3 days! Can't recommend this place enough. Extremely low cost and the staff is amazing. Had to wait like 2-3 weeks for a neutering appointment but it was 1/3 the cost that our local vet would have charged. And vaccines are so affordable too. Got healthy pet visit next day. Love this place.

Fantastic experience: I went for the first time last week. I recently adopted a Pomeranian mix from Harris county animal shelter. I was able to make an appointment online without any issues. The front desk and the tech were very nice. When we got called back the Dr was very friendly and kind. He addressed my concerns about my poms skin issues and gave me recommendations. I paid a little under $100 for vaccine, antibiotics, flea/heart worm prevention and shampoo. I’m happy to say that my little guys skin is already improving and he hasn’t been scratching as much! It is definitely worth the drive and I would 100% recommend this place to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Took my three dogs for checkups and toenail trims at the Monroe@Gulf Fwy location. My two big dogs did well on the nail trim, but their 7.5 month old daughter was very anxious and moving around a lot. But Amy and Monique did not give up. They eventually got her nails trimmed. And I'm not sure which one was Amy and which one was Monique, but one of them helped me a lot since I had all three dogs with me and they are large breed dogs. She was very helpful with helping me move the dogs around and even walked me out to my car when my appointment was over. Thank you girls for all your assistance and in a few weeks when I go for their nail trim again, I hope y'all are there again. Thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: I really can’t say enough good things about Emancipet. We love our dogs but can’t always afford the care they need so emancipet is truly doing some amazing work. We did the heartworm treatment and the staff and care was incredible. Hector in particular was so amazing to work with and led with compassion while answering all our questions. I made an appointment at 430 pm and i was skipped 5 times and was one of the last ones to leave ! the gentleman in the front desk said my appointment wasn't showing even tough I got a code receiving my phone number And then they talk about you amongst themselves while you're sitting in the waiting area! Very rude and disrespectful Last time im coming here !

Fantastic experience: We were referred from the 290 location to take our dog here to get spayed and receive heartworm treatment, because theylse guys had openings sooner. It has been worth the longer drive, because the entire staff has been super. They're organized, they're on time, and they're friendly. Our dog warmed up to them in 30 seconds, but she growls at everybody else! Rates are reasonable, and we feel confident in our fur baby's health care.

Positive experience: I’ve had great experiences with Emancipet! Last year, I brought in my male husky for a cryptorchid neuter surgery. Although the incision got infected (mostly because he kept slipping out of his cone), I was able to bring him back and they cleaned the wound at no extra cost. I really appreciated their care and understanding. Just yesterday, I had a rescue kitten neutered here - within two hours of getting home, he was already running and jumping around like nothing happened! Emancipet clearly knows what they’re doing when it comes to spay/neuter procedures. I trust them completely and will be bringing my husky girl in soon to be spayed

Fantastic experience: Honestly i used to come here back in 2019-2020 but its about an hour away from my place so i stopped coming and went to thrive petco which was a mistake. There is a wait time from when i went about 1-2 hours from what the front desk told me so i went to a park nearby. If you want good and affordable service make the drive and come here. I had a bad experience with thrive traumatizing my dog so I explained the situation to the vet technician and he listened to everything and guided me through the process, he didn’t dismiss me and listened and both the dr and the tech took their time with my dog and got everything that needed to be done. I’m grateful for the experience and even though my dog is timid we’ll definitely be back for another round of vaccinations. **ITS A WALK IN VET CLINIC expect a wait time and show up early for that wait time, they can only do so much, while taking care of each dogs individual needs**

They emailed called and texted me to verify gave me instructions before hand what to do once I got to the clinic the process was professional quick. The staff was super friendly. Their prices are very reasonable. once I got my cat home. They gave me care instructions. She was her normal self within the hour, running around and eating. I couldn’t be a happier cat mom. Before I was going to petco, paying an arm and a leg for vaccinations, and finding this place has truly been a Godsend. There is always a wait, but you just have to go up there. And get your place in line, and they'll call you a few hours later. When it's time for your pet to be seen, I find this very convenient if you have other things to do during the day, you can while you wait. To me, it's very worth it considering the low prices that I have to pay for services. The staff is very friendly and always so helpful. I will forever take my dog to Emancipet!

Negative experience: This place made me wait 3 hours for a visit then told me to go inside and waited another 2 hours while people who were just walking in they seen them immediately and just for them to tell me “oh we didn’t even know you were here” even though the employee who put me down for the appointment was looking at me the whole time while I was sitting there I waisted 5 hours today just waiting to get my dog checked out

Fantastic experience: Great Pet Clinic – Affordable & Caring I found this pet clinic online and was surprised by how affordable it was. Took my pet in as a gift from my coworker, and the staff took great care of us. They really know what they’re doing and handled everything with kindness and patience. Only thing—be prepared to wait. One time I waited over 5 hours. They call you when it’s your turn to come in, which helps, but it can still be a long day. That said, I’ll still return. The care is solid and worth the wait.

Fantastic experience: These folks are a non-profit that does excellent work. Over the years they have fixed 4 dogs and one cat without any issues. We love our pets like family so I wouldn't recommend this place unless they do amazing work. If you can afford to donate a little extra you can be sure your money will be put to good use. Fantastic experience: Really appreciated the service, care and prices. I got our annual preventatives for about half what I pay regularly. They were all very caring for my dogs from the techs to the vet.

Negative experience: After work, I rushed in seeking help for my puppy, who was having a severe allergic reaction. He was breaking out, scratching intensely, and nearly causing himself to bleed. I checked online beforehand and saw that this clinic treated skin issues, so I felt confident they could assist. However, my experience was extremely disappointing. When I arrived, I explained my puppy’s condition to the front desk receptionist, Shy, but she was incredibly rude and dismissive. She interrupted me, refused to listen, and seemed intent on rushing me out the door. Despite their listed closing time being 6:00 PM, she claimed the doctor couldn’t see us because it was “close to closing time.” This was at 5:00 PM—an hour before closing. I had also called ahead and been assured my puppy could be seen, which made her response even more frustrating. As I tried to seek help from another staff member, Shy kept interrupting with an attitude that made it clear she didn’t want to assist. At one point, she falsely claimed my dog had chemical burns and there was nothing they could do, citing an issue with his scrotum—completely unrelated to the breakout on his chest and legs. It felt like she was making up excuses to avoid providing care. To make matters worse, her handling of my puppy was aggressive and lacked any compassion. The poor customer service, lack of empathy, and overall treatment I received ensure I will never return to this clinic. My puppy deserved better, and so did I. PS. Shy is the African American girl with red hair and glasses.

Fantastic experience: I must say that I have been to several locations in the Houston area and chosen Wayside as the best for me. They are all wonderful and caring professionals, however; it takes more than an hour to get there with very little wait time. I have 2 Doberman Pinches each 100 lbs plus, two Pit Bulls 50 & 75 lbs, one Marco Frenchie 31 lbs and one Siberian Husky 47 lbs the most mischievous one of All !! therefore time is essential when I must make more than 1 trip in my SUV. IT’S WELL WORTH IT . The staff is awesome making me feel at ease. Thank you all for being so warm and caring especially since my anxiety was over the moon being new comer.

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff that cares deeply for their work and their clients. I have taken numerous cats and my dog here and have been impressed with the service we receive every time. Their prices are affordable but the care is top tier. Their system for surgery drop off/pick up is EXTREMELY efficient and they provide tons of information at drop off. The best place to go for any preventative care needs or spay/neuters.

Negative experience: I had a very bad experience at the Mancepet Clinit. On Wednesday, November 27 at 8:00 am, my 5 months cat, Daisy had spaying appointment. Daisy was a healthy female cat and she was fine that morning after I dropped her off. Around 3:00 pm I received a phone call from the clinic, was a Dr. Halliday, he letting me know that Daisy’s heart had stopped beating after she was administered the anesthesia. Daisy was having seizures and was in a coma. I was told that Daisy was in “observation”! I couldn’t believe the state that Daisy was when I picked her up; she was unable to move her head or her arms! The Dr. Halliday only suggested for me to take her to the ER because he couldn’t do anything else for her! He didn’t have answers for any of my questions, he only apologized. I took Daisy back home, because I can afford the ER bill. she was suffering too much, she continued on having seizures throughout the night and her meowing was with pain. Daisy sadly passed away the next morning. I believe that they administered too much anesthesia for her body weight! To many medications were given to her, I have it on writing. Please, don’t trust just any clinic! We are very upset they did this to our Daisy. She was loved.

Negative experience: Worst Vet Experience Ever - A Total Waste of Time! I took my dog to this vet today because he’s been having diarrhea. From the moment I checked in, it was a disaster. No one even asked the reason for my visit, and I was told the waiting time would be 2 hours. I ended up waiting the FULL 2 hours doing absolutely nothing but sitting there, just to get a text message telling me it was finally time to go in. When I did go in, I encountered the rudest staff member I’ve ever dealt with—someone named Calist, if I got that right. Without knowing a single thing about my visit, she rudely told me to walk outside to talk, as if I was doing something wrong! After the staff clarified I was already on the waiting list, she finally asked what the issue was. When I told her my dog had diarrhea, she rudely snapped that they couldn’t check him because they “aren’t a hospital. And This is my dog’s regular vet—They could have easily told me at check-in that they weren’t equipped to help with his condition instead of wasting TWO HOURS of my time. To make things worse, I’ve noticed that they seem to treat people differently based on who they are. It feels like they only want Hispanic clients, and if you’re not, they treat you poorly and disrespectfully. The level of incompetence, clear bias, and complete lack of care I experienced is unacceptable. They don’t care about your time, your pet, or fairness in how they treat people!

Fantastic experience: I love this place I recommend this place to all my friends that have animals, the services are great and the staff is usually friendly, but today 6/22/2024 some of the staff was rude and not friendly at all while checking in I said good morning to the young lady twice all she said back to me was WHATS YOUR PHONE NUMBER! and also as I was waiting I checked my wait time on the wait list and it said canceled, I went in to ask why and another young lady at yhe front desk told me I did it , I asked how can I do that, she said well mistakes happen I still happen you on the list, I have never experienced this at this place before and I have been coming here for over 10 years with my first pet now I'm bring my second. I guess everyone has bad days but when you work in the public you have to be friendly and courteous and it didn't happen today. I was number 13 in line when the doors open and it's almost 11am and I'm still waiting.

Negative experience: I’ve visited this facility so many times since the day I brought my fur baby home and today was the worst experience I have encountered. My stomach hurt so much of how angry I was. My pet had a rash/wound on his paw and I took him it to get checked out, I also requested for him to get his yearly vaccines since I was already there. (I muzzled him before going because he is sensitive to touch). DVM Carl Halliday was so rude from the moment he walked in to the room. I explained what was going on and he rushed the whole visit. As I suspected, my dog reacted to Mr. Halliday touching and feeling on his rash/wound so my dogs reaction was to snap. I totally understand that’s not ok and that is why I brought him with a muzzle. Then he proceeded to give him the 3 shots and my dog is still reacting. I kept trying to comfort my dog and told him it was all ok that he can calm down and Halliday looked at me and said don’t condone this. Mr.Halliday gets up and tells me to leave the room and in a kind of threatening tone says if you want me to see your pet next time he will have to be sedated. Every dog is different and Halliday has been a vet for many years, so I’m sure he’s experienced all types of behaviors. He really made me feel like I was a terrible pet parent and I will not be visiting this facility ever again.

Fantastic experience: They always are so nice to my puppy dog and provide services at SUCH affordable rates. It’s beyond helpful to have a non-judgmental place that you don’t need an appointment, usually I will be in and out a tad over an hour. The only thing is I wish they did dental cleanings! But if they could offer I’m sure they would.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough good things about them. I have utilized the spay, vaccine, and flea prevention services. It’s always fast and efficient. They take excellent care of my dogs

Positive experience: I took my cat, Millie, to be spayed here after reading several good reviews. The staff were very friendly and the clinic was clean. I am sure she received great care here. My only complaint is that once I took Millie home, I noticed they had tipped one of her ears, like they would to a feral or stray cat. It was very upsetting when I first noticed it but I’m trying my best to get used to her new look. I just don’t understand why they would microchip a cat that has a name and an owner and then decide to tip their ear.

Fantastic experience: My pup is currently going through heartworm treatment here. This is his second time going through the process (first with emancipet) and I do really appreciate how everything is planned and set up by your first appointment. Everything is VERY affordable which is important because heartworm treatment would’ve cost me $2000 at my main veterinarian. Truly a life saver!

Fantastic experience: The staff there at Emancipet off of Monroe are excellent and very polite. They answer all your questions that you may have pleasantly. It is very clean and the set up is very organized.

Fantastic experience: Took my two fur babies (Mijo and Santiago) to have their long nails clipped. The doctor and the staff... are all dedicated and experienced. They made sure the boys were comfortable. Everything went smoothly. A grateful and happy fur parent. Thank you, guys.

Fantastic experience: Very busy place but is well organized. Prices can’t be beat. I’m getting my shelter dog’s heartworms treated, paid for by the animal shelter. However, if one of my animals somehow ended up with heartworms and needed treatment, their prices won’t break the bank. Maybe a small fracture, but is reasonable (most vets want $1500 or more). When my dogs yearly vaccinations are due I will come here. I also now purchase their yearly flea/heartworm preventative medication here. It’s not a fancy place, but I would rather save my money for the “expensive” vets when/if my dogs get sick.

Fantastic experience: We have had 3 adult cat's and 2 small kitten's fixed here, We spent about $500.00 including donations worth every penny to stop over population. The staff is great so was the Service, In my opinion the employees I had contact with every one was extremely nice and knowledgeable when I asked questions and when I saw the staffs interactions with other customers I saw the same great service. I highly recommend this place. It was also clean. Thank you for your service and caring for Animal's.

Negative experience: Terrible experience, they waited 2 hours to tell me that I couldn’t get my dog’s booster vaccination or any other vaccine because it’s 2 days too early after I drove 3 hours to this specific location. I usually go to a different clinic however this was the only one open today. I tried to call before I came to get info but the calls kept going to an automated system. Had I know when I FIRST checked in that I was too early I would’ve left and came back another day but ANGUS that works the front desk didn’t inform me or even THINK to look until it was time for me to have my appointment AFTER i waited for 2 hours. He then kept being condescending and low key rude saying “well it’s your pet you’re supposed to know.” As if I wasn’t told something differently at another clinic!! At the end of the day how hard is it to CHECK and see before you have someone unnecessarily waiting for 2 hours. I tried to pay for my dogs prescription and the vet waved the fee that’s the only thing decent that happened after my time was wasted. I will never go back to this location again because of ANGUS he needs to work on his customer service skills and possibly be retrained.

Positive experience: The quality of care is exceptional. The reception area needs work. I took my dog for shots (yearly) and when I went in it was empty. I was told to wait in my car they will text me when it is my turn. They said the wait is about an hour. I looked around but said ok. Since I thought I had an hour I went to Taco Bell in the same parking lot. I no more than order and they are texting me. I got my food and went in. The place was packed. I saw multiple people sitting that I saw walk in from my car. So I sat at seat 2. I was 2nd in line. OK great. Then they called every other person in there before me! So I sat inside for another hour while my food gets cold. Why did that happen? Was it because I am not Mexican? No offense but that is how they made me feel in the front only. Once my dog and I were in the exam room, the tech and vet were wonderful. I will go back and hopefully I am treated better in the front reception area.

Fantastic experience: We took our pittie when she was of age and the staff did a great job. We got her spayed, chipped and all her shots. Great prices and our doggo healed quickly.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever! We brought our Belgian to get spayed but she was in heat. I asked two different techs if that was going to be an issue and both told me no. We also added some services like microchip, nail trimming, and prevention meds. An hour after dropping her off we are told they are declining surgery due to her being in heat. I've read conflicting things about this so I didn't know. We are all for the safety of our pup but they could have told us when informed or before leaving her there that there would be a possibility she wouldn't be able to have the surgery or have us reschedule. She didn't even get the other services we asked for, at the least. Complete waste of our time.
