SNAP Spay-Neuter & Animal Wellness Clinic: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Brought our dog here for vaccines. The staff was amazing, professional and excellent customer service. You can really tell the people that work here truly care about animals.
Fantastic experience: Great experience at Snap Spay and Neuter! The staff was kind, professional, and very organized. The process was smooth and affordable, and my pet recovered perfectly. I highly recommend them!
Fantastic experience: Dr Guillory, Andrea, and staff are people with good and caring hearts. Our family trusts them and we appreciate their kindness while treating our 2 cat fur babies. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: My female cat adopted us 2 or so years ago, and I finally wanted to get her spayed. This SNAP service provided it for free. Apparently, you need to live in a certain area of Houston to qualify for it. It turned out that she had already been spayed, which is OK, but I really didn't need to go through this process. However, they applied extras like rabies shots and insertion of a location chip. So, it was time well spent. These people are totally professional and personal and kind and whatever kind of description you can apply to really nice people. They are obviously cat and dog lovers and give really good advice and answer questions freely. I had a really good experience with SNAP in Houston. I would recommend them to my friends and family. Great job SNAP and City of Houston! Thanks.
Fantastic experience: Excellent place to take your dog for shots and general health. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Took my cat to get spayed. They were very friendly and did an amazing job.
Negative experience: This place says its "Our Mission: To prevent the suffering and death of companion animals" but its the complete opposite. The staff here doesn't know what they're doing and it cost my cat his life. My cat died a day after I got him neutered. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE IF YOU VALUE THE LIFE OF YOUR ANIMAL. They should not be in business after killing my poor kitty. Please reconsider another place to go to because this place is horrible. Hell is hot for the staff here.
Negative experience: Had my cat neutered here on Friday, and he passed away Sunday morning. I’m devastated and confused on why this happened. I’m posting this for awareness, not to blame the clinic but to share my story. Something to consider when booking for you furry friend.
Fantastic experience: Brought our cats today to get spayed. Have used SNAP’s spay/neuter services as well as preventative, microchip and flea treatments since 2020. Everyone is always very kind, friendly, explained things in detail and are available for questions or concerns. This visit we were helped by, Christian. He was thorough on what to expect post-procedure as well as services provided. One of our babies is a rescue and we found out she might have a hernia that would need repair. He was up front to let us know that if I needed/could be fixed we would be notified and how much it would cost, as well as alternative recommendations or treatment if it was not a hernia. Luckily our rescue is okay. I cannot recommend them enough. Fair prices and excellent service.
Fantastic experience: I love coming here because it’s the most affordable spay/neuter clinic within a 2 hour radius and they also see you sooner than any other clinic. And the staff is wonderful!!! I love it so much that I’ve been here about 10 times already to spay/neuter my cats throughout many years. Know that you will be in traffic so look at the GPS for the day and time that you need to be there to plan ahead. Here is what you need to know about CATS’ spay/neuter.. -This clinic will charge $85 for male cats, $100 for female cats. Most places charge between $150-$300 whether it’s male or female. -This clinic can have available appointments in 2-3weeks! Most places have available appointments in about 2 months. -This clinic only asks for a $25 deposit. Most places ask for a $90 deposit. -You will need to bring valid rabies certificate IF you have one, or can pay $28 per cat for rabies vaccine during visit which is more affordable than other places. -Cats must be in a secure carrier. -You can book online to see the soonest appointment/fill out some quick paperwork about the cat. If you need help or have multiple cats to book, you can call the phone number on their website for assistance. (Sometimes they answer but they do reach back out when you leave a voicemail) When you arrive you will have to wait because there will be a lot of pets getting surgeries the same day. Please arrive between 7:10-8:30am, or they may not take your pet. I have seen people be sent home because they arrived at 8:45am. Wait times are usually 30 minutes to 1 hour and this time last time, it was 1 hour and 15 minutes. You check in, wait for your pet’s name to be called. When you are in the room to drop your pet off they will ask you if you want to add any additional services, which are the best prices around but they’re not necessary and these prices can quickly turn your visit up to $200 per cat. If you are interested in the additional services like microchip/other vaccines, ASK them how much is it before you agree to it because they won’t say it. What is necessary is the rabies vaccine which is $28 (if you didn’t bring in valid rabies certificate) AND what else is necessary is already included in the $85-$100 price, which is the surgery and pain vaccine. Cats do not need the cone/dislike the cone. Cats can start to act normal after 24 hours. After dropping off your pet, you will wait in the lobby again until they call your pet’s name so you can pay for the surgery. Then you can leave. If they don’t have many surgeries scheduled or your pet is ready to pick up sooner, they will call or text you for the option to pick them up sooner. If they don’t, you can come in 4:05-5:30pm to pick up your cat. YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR PET. There is no staying overnight option.
Fantastic experience: Very nice front desk and surgery went well. Thank you❤️
Fantastic experience: Great place to get your animals spayed
Fantastic experience: I went here to get both my dogs spayed/neutered. And i just went recently to get their yearly shots. Amazing place.
Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would. Set up an appointment for the free neuter, through the city. I had to pay a 50.00 deposit refundable after the procedure. I live on a very limited budget, I have no job, my daughter has no job but gets disability. I don't have a car we were going to take uber there 26.00. 2 busses and walking 30 minutes back. Borrow my daughter's friend car at pickup. That morning we had an emergency that couldn't be helped, it happens. I called twice no answer left a message, called again nothing. Kept calling to reschedule as we've done before. Finally, 4 days later I got a answer. Apparently, they have only 1 person to pick up the phone and say hello. The lady answering the phone said I had to come in and talk to the manager about the 50. or reschedule. I said I can't I don't have a car. Her response was figure it out. I wrote an email, thinking it would go to the manager, same lady wrote back, as per our conversation, you have to come up here. Thanks, for helping a person out, and your attitude.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and professional all the way. I would use them again.
Negative experience: This particular company did not show any compassion on the day of our dogs surgery and by the way, this surgery was strongly recommended by this particular company and location. We waited a month for this appointment once we got there at 6:30 in the morning the doctor did not arrive until nine only to inform us that at the procedure has been declined this because this particular doctor was not Comfortable. The smart and considerate thing would’ve been is to study your caseload before hand and inform that person before taking off from work and driving to another city to have this done. I spoke to a manager named John Street, which took me a while to get a hold of because there is so much cover-up going on, and in the beginning during our conversation, he tried to justify for this doctor when there is no justification he also assured me that he will contact me after Thanksgiving holidays to reschedule our dog and have somebody else that was more competent and comfortable to do so. That was the week before Thanksgiving. I have not heard from Mr. Street Not only are you unreliable, but your word means nothing.
Fantastic experience: They got my dog fixed and he is doing fine on the next day of surgery, no pain at all. Update for day 5, is happy and strong.
Fantastic experience: I live with three rescued dogs and they always get their vaccines at SNAP Houston. Sometimes it can be a little difficult to schedule for an appointment on line but you can always call and they will solve the problem. The girls at the counter are always nice and helpful. The veterinarians and technicians are caring and thoughtful, they take the time to explain everything. And the price, definitely accessible.
Fantastic experience: Very compassionate intake staff and exceptional vet. As a walk in, I was surprised how quickly they organized exam, shots, and the vet spent decent amount of time (did not feel like assembly line at the regular vet's office) asking questions and examining the dog. While in the waiting room, the technician walked in to update on how soon we would be seeing the vet. I am sad they had to put up a sign not to use profane language bc it must have happened to them frequently enough. They are doing the most with the least and actually saving a lot of animals by making the care affordable. The areas were very clean. The intake clerk was very focused and efficient. I respect what they do and how they do their work.
Fantastic experience: They take great care of my pets!! Low cost and great people
Fantastic experience: SNAP provides exceptional care at a truly accessible cost. Our cat’s spay procedure was handled with professionalism and kindness from start to finish, even surpassing the experience we’ve had at private vets quoting several times the price. A sincere thank you to the staff, from reception to veterinary team, who were patient, warm, and attentive throughout our visit. This is high-quality veterinary care made affordable, and Houston is genuinely fortunate to have it.
Negative experience: I had previously brought my dog and 4 cats here with no issues. But with my last cat that I bought she ended up with ringworm. I first I thought it was a reaction to being clip or the adhesive they put, but no it was ringworms. So save yourself from this place and bring your pet somewhere else. I am just glad that I isolated my cat for the 2wks they recommend after surgery, but my other cats were expose to her for about 5 days, before I realized that it was not just irritation. If you think you are saving money please think again. My vet bills say otherwise and the anxiety I feel from my other cats being exposed, specially since one of my cat’s has asthma. I didn’t contact them cause I won’t be nice about it and I know they won’t take responsibility. since they make you sing documents taking the responsibility away from them. But i know they are either not being sterile when performing surgery or using the same clippers with out disinfecting them on all the pets.
Fantastic experience: Staff took great care of my kitten. Highly recommend them!
Fantastic experience: Support these folks ! Extra TLC ! Thank you for important service for animals and community
Fantastic experience: Fantastic place to get your pet spayed or neutered. The staff is very attentive and customer oriented, they show care for your pets and they know how important they are to you. The place is very clean and everyone maintain order and professionalism at all times. Or top of everything, the prices are unparalleled, great service to the community and the city!
Fantastic experience: I have had such a great experience here. Brought in my pet and quickly was greeted, was even available for a walk-in vaccinations, but let me make an appointment. I was late for my appointment and they were still kind and able to assist me. They take tap to pay, which is amazing. They genuinely care and even follow up with a call to provide me more information and concern. I cannot recommend them enough. I recommend them to my clients all the time and I am just so happy to have had the stellar experience myself to continue to be able to recommend them. Please support this profit.
Fantastic experience: Bought our little kitten in to get neuter, his shot and micro chip. They are such amazing professional group of people. Real nice and friendly. Did an outstanding job, took great care of our precious Momoo and they are super affordable. Thank you
Fantastic experience: Was very easy do of pick up to get my cat slippy chipped and snipped. The staff seemed very genuine and caring and I really appreciated that. They also give you all the information you need before and after the procedure.
Fantastic experience: Very efficient but they process a lot of animals, so waiting is to be expected
Fantastic experience: The doctors and staff here are so caring of all pets and their nervous parents. They took care of our kitten so well and took their time thoroughly answering our questions and concerns. I truly appreciate this and I will be coming back for any services necessary. Special thanks to Michelle, Monica, Shawn and everyone up front that advised and assisted us as a team. I'm so grateful for this because every bit of it helps us care better for our pets. Thank you all!
Fantastic experience: My dog had surgery here a few years ago and the service and tech was so nice. I did go today to donate some supplies but they were unfortunately closed. I called and rang the doorbell but no one came. I wish they updated their hours :(
Fantastic experience: Such a great and clean place ❤️ I spayed my dog here and if you work early, they have early morning drop off and you can pick up your dog after work! Employees are so nice and as a bonus, there’s a Starbucks there lol
Negative experience: Today my Pomeranian had surgery at Snap. I tried to respectfully discuss the time discrepancy the staff had with me after cancelling on me and not calling me back. The two staff members talked over me. They just didn’t care. When I came back to pick my dog up the manager, a huge man, said he wanted to speak to me in his office and to close the door. I was scared, I was terrified that something had happened to my dog. -Found out he asked me to sit in his tiny office with no windows to intimidate me about the encounter earlier. As a woman I was terrified. When I stepped out of his office there was a homeless man who was drugged out of his mind. I’m glad he put his intimidation towards him. This was scary experience for anybody in this unprofessional environment.
Fantastic experience: Just had my two babies spayed. Everyone here is so friendly.
Fantastic experience: There are too many unwanted pets, sadly.its essential to spay in a civilized community. this is a wonderful low cost spay neuter clinic and offers a discount for some zip codes. Male pets that are not spayed or neutered may experience rising testosterone levels. This causes unwanted aggression, which can be dangerous.
Fantastic experience: Out of all the vets I’ve been to in my life I have never been to a better place. The staff was so kind in a way I can only describe as angelic. You can tell everyone here truly has a passion for pets. I would recommend everyone to take their pet here for spay or neutering. My pets had an AMAZING experience!
Negative experience: After much unnecessary difficulty at this location, I was finally able to get services at Houston PetSet . Their prices are cheaper and their staff is much friendlier. I recommend checking them out instead.
Fantastic experience: I wish I could give 100 stars. After an awful experience at another place - we brought our very anxious dog here to be fixed. They were SO kind. And patient. And loving to my very frightened fur baby! Cannot say thank you enough!
Negative experience: Please be aware that SNAP does not do bloodwork prior to their procedures & that bloodwork is something you should do with your vet beforehand. While SNAP is not at fault, because I was not aware that they don’t conduct bloodwork before a spay/neuter, my dog passed away from complications following her procedure that could have been avoided if a blood panel was conducted. I’d recommend that SNAP make an effort to make their customers and patients aware that there is no testing prior to procedures, as this was something I assumed they were doing, but found that to not be true only after asking them myself once my dog began experiencing her complications. I’d also recommend to SNAP that, on top of letting their customers know the above, that they should also tell their customers that bloodwork is highly recommended and is almost always performed at veterinary practices prior to a procedure such as a spay or neuter. Lastly, her incision never fully healed and reopened almost 3 weeks later which my vet said was likely due to improperly done stitches/sutures.
Fantastic experience: I've been lucky enough to use SNAP before. I was happy to finally be able to get an appointment for my kitten to get spayed. Don't give up! I found appointments on Friday afternoon! And I was pleasantly surprised to be notified that I qualified for the voucher program. Boy did that come at the right time! I was happy with the interaction with all of the people at SNAP. They took good care of my Babi. She's done very well in her recovery. My thanks to everyone at SNAP.
Fantastic experience: Really helpful staff! We’re thankful for the kindness they showed us while we were there. The lady at the front desk was nice and knowledgeable, and she was very helpful. They took great care of our pups! They also have senior discounts on some procedures!
Fantastic experience: Absolutely pleased with the service, professionalism and atmosphere at this clinic. We brought our sweet fur baby cat to get spayed and we definitely recommend this place after some real bad experience in other clinics.
Negative experience: Took my dog here to get neutered and ended up having to spend $1500+ at other vets to fix the botched surgery and infection. Tried calling and emailing them MULTIPLE times over 2 weeks and have not received a response or call back. My dog had their surgery done on a Tuesday. I kept him relaxed, gave him medication, and did not let him walk up or down the stairs for potty breaks. By Saturday, I noticed swelling and Hematomas in his groin, leg, and sack that was left behind. When I took him to another vet, they said the incision and stitch work was very unusual for a routine procedure and prescribed antibiotics and other medicine to help with the Hematomas. Two days later the infection got insanely bad, so I brought him back to the new vet who helped get it under control and said what likely happened was there was bacteria that got into the incision during surgery and was not cleaned before being closed. I tried contacting them multiple times, but have never received a call back, email back, or anything. The total vet bills are over $1500 now trying to fix the issue and I can't even get a response which is infuriating. Please don't take the risk going here, they have a VERY high volume of patients due to the cheap cost and free surgery program with the city of Houston and unfortunately you get what you pay for. Save yourself and your pet the pain and money and go anywhere else.
Fantastic experience: Great staff! Very friendly & very communicative. Explained everything clear as day for my wife & I after surgery l. Would definitely go again & recommend them to anyone looking for an absolute affordable place to take their dogs or cats to be either spayed or neutered.
Fantastic experience: They rescheduled our kitty's Surgery appt. But all my services will be at No Cost, Thanks to SNAP/ The City of Houston Spay/Neuter Program and PetCo for the free vaccines due to their Program. I can not fuss. I am so Thankful.
Positive experience: I give 3 star because they need to enforce to line up as they arrived and that way when people go In to sign in can sign in the same way. But they don't an everyone wants to rush in and get in front of people who got their earlier and have been waiting. Once they enforce this and don't OVERBOOK like they did when I took my cat, I will upgrade score to 5 star. They had my cat there ALL DAY for them to call me and say they couldn't do the surgery because they had overbooked and had to stop surgeries by 3pm. May cat was shaking when I picked her up and hope this don't happen again on my rescheduled appointment in April. Other than this so far all the pets we have brought have been good after their surgeries and no complications. Seriously enforce the line up even if you just have to put a sign if yall don't want to directly tell people. It's not fair that people arrive early, take off work or go into work late to be on time for appt, for them to have people skip them when it's sign in time.
Fantastic experience: I brought in both my brand new puppy and my senior Chihuahua for vaccines. The technician was very nice, the veterinarian was outstanding. This was the best vet visit. I remember ever having brought my pets too.
Fantastic experience: They are excellent here! I was so nervous and they took such good care of my King Charles pup getting spayed. . Ty Drs and staff! You are All sent angels to our angels we love so much!
Fantastic experience: I got my mini Dachsund neutered here and he recovered so quickly! Highly recommend for convenience, price, and service. My other vet was going to charge almost $1000 for the surgery and microchip but SNAP was under $200!
Fantastic experience: They took great care of my grandpuppers, Odin. I've lost count of the cats & dogs I have taken to SNAP or paid for. They are a fantastic team.
Fantastic experience: The vet that I took my dog to was kind and personable. Thinking about making them my go to place for all her veterinary needs.
Fantastic experience: They did an amazing hob neutering my recent rescue. Absolutely compassionate, efficient, and very organized. The intake was quick. Little dog with zero medical history was thoroughly evaluated and the procedure went really well. Thank you so much!!
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend SNAP. They’re an excellent and affordable place to get your spay/neutering services. Get there early so that you’re not waiting too long, but honestly check in/out & pickup went smooth for me. My Isley is healing up great. She was back to her normal self after the anesthesia wore off. I appreciate the fact that they offer a free recheck in the event something is going on.
Negative experience: I’m going to take a very brief moment to highlight the procedure on my cat Riley. She’s been responding we’ll post op and is still very active around the house in spite of just getting out of surgery. Now the cons… I don’t appreciate being lied to and it’s that plain and simple! I went to go pick up my cat and she was presented to me without a cone and I was immediately alarmed because, to my knowledge, the cones are necessary to prevent licking the fresh wound. When I asked the vet assistant/tech where’s her cone, I was told they ran out. My follow up to that was, then how did you guys stop her from potentially licking her wound before I got her and I never received a straight answer. Then, I was also told that I could go purchase my own collar from the pet store when the collar is supposed to be provided after a surgery; it’s supposed to be part of what I paid for. I kept pressing the issue and the lady left and come back with a cone that they supposedly ran out of. Then, she proceeds to grab my cat, very aggressively, to try and put the cone on and the only reason I say that is because it was very noticeable that Riley was resisting and uncomfortable. I had no problem putting the cone on her once we got home… I had one final question regarding picking my cat up a certain way to try and stay mindful of her stitches. The same lady that brought Riley to me and lied about the cones told me I can pick her up normally and then tries to grab Riley again, mind you very aggressively once again! Riley resisted and now the lady is pulling Riley and Riley is pulling back to get away… ALL OF THIS IS HAPPENING POST OPERATION RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME and my cat has fresh stitches on her belly! Riley manages to retreat to the back on the carrier and hisses at the lady and it’s over from there. With all this being said, be very mindful when taking your pets to this location. The procedures look like they’re done by someone who cares but unfortunately I can’t say or guarantee the same level of care when it comes to them looking after your pets post operation. I never got the lady’s name but she was pretty tall, with glasses and had a thick accent. I don’t want anyone else’s pets being mistreated or the customer experience to be poor especially after you as the owner dropped them off in hopes that the business and workers will do right by you and your pet. I debated submitting this review but again I don’t appreciate being lied to and I don’t appreciate how my pet was handled after a very fresh operation. It was very unprofessional and I’m leaving 2 stars instead of 1 ONLY because Riley is doing so well right now but I’ll be closely monitoring her condition moving forward.
Negative experience: We had our make Rottweiler neutered by SNAP. The swelling kept getting worse until he started bleeding through the horribly done incision. They left the scrotum and did not properly do the surgery. I guess they are rushed to get all the dogs on the conveyor belt and get it done quickly. We called the emergency after hours since it was a Sunday and no one called us back! We are now trying to find an emergency vet that will likely cost many times what the surgery originally cost. Don't take your animal here if you care about its health and well being.
Fantastic experience: Got my baby fixed here! Was pretty full but still the staff was great and patient!
Fantastic experience: Staff were so helpful. Had both my male dogs neutered and one of them decided to irritate his area on the 12 th day lucky I didn’t need to schedule an appointment they got me in asap and was able to get him back on track. My dogs enjoyed going it was a smooth system
Fantastic experience: I took my fur baby, Frankie here to be neutered, microchipped and updated in shots. Not only was it affordable but everyone was so kind and they were gentle with my Frankie boy. I encourage you to donate to this place, I know I will again. Please allow cushion room to wait to be called back & to check out. You can tell they are all working & doing their best to get people in and out. I will be returning to this clinic.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful organization. When I brought my kitty in to be spayed everything was first class all the way. Treated both me and kitty respectfully with no issues or complications. I have no complaints whatsoever and highly recommend them! We are so lucky to have them here to help us care for the animals that depend on us.
Negative experience: They give an appointment at 10am to ask you to get out that they need to talk. Why they give you an appointment at a time if they won’t be ready and they just make you wait on your car
Fantastic experience: I was so nervous to leave my fur babies! I read all the reviews and made my decision and I’m so glad I decided to take them!! They were all so nice and I felt so comfortable. The receptionist was amazing even with all the cats & dogs n paw parents she was so nice!! Patricia was amazing and felt like we known each other for years! My babies are doing very good and definitely recommend Snap 100% Thanks Snap
Fantastic experience: I love the people that work here. They really helped me and a friend when we had multiple cats the needed spaying and neutering. Turns out we qualified for help that they had with the city of Houston. Thank you again for everything yall do for our pet population.
Fantastic experience: Came here for a spay. After one week, dog is well and I’m really appreciative of the care they provided my dog. As a dog parent, I am always afraid of putting my dogs through surgery and I’m not why but they made the process a whole lot easier than other places.
Fantastic experience: I am very impressed with the professionalism and organization that I, and my kitty, Graylie, experienced this past Thursday. We had an appointment, which they reminded me of through text and email. The line, that morning, was not too long and the team of workers moved through it like clockwork. Within an hour, Graylie was checked in, seen by the tech, and on her way to be spayed. To my surprise, I received a phone call to tell me that when they shaved Graylie’s tummy, they saw a scar, which led them to believe she had already been spayed. She was already sedated, so when I showed up at 5:30, she had been micro chipped, and had her rabies shot and a naked belly, but no surgery! I’m sure she was surprised when she woke up to find her shaved tummy. I so appreciated what I saw at the SNAP clinic. They worked with each family and treated each animal with such respect. I could have had a refund, since they did not end up doing the surgery. But, after my experience, I decided to make the refund a donation to SNAP, to be used in their mission to help our Houston animals. My little, stray kitty has not only found a home, but a group of friends at SNAP. Thanks to all of you for all that you do for our furry friends.
Fantastic experience: Great customer service. The staff were very nice and explained everything that my fur baby was going to need after his big surgery. I recommend this to anyone needing to get their fur babies (fixed) neutered or spayed and very good pricing.
Fantastic experience: Staff were super friendly and the registration process was super easy. Pick up was same day and the puppy was feeling better after a few days! Thanks to the awesome staff.
Negative experience: I made my dogs spay apt in April for June 3rd at 7:30 slot. We arrived on time. By 8:15 nobody was there to let employees in or register the people lined up with their pets all the way down the sidewalk to the end of strip center. Employees waiting outside said the person with the key did not show up and the 2nd person with a key wasn’t there either. It was 85 degrees out and all of these poor animals were burning up and without water or shade. Is this who you would trust or want to take care of your fur babies. Unprofessional and Insensitive. At least call your employees sweating outside and give them an update as to what to share with the numerous patients waiting with appointments down the entire length of the sidewalk. I’ve left multiple messages. Three weeks later and still no returned call. I just received a fundraiser request for money from them. Absolutely no way. I’ll give it to someone who respects their animals.
Fantastic experience: Stevie and I love this SNAP clinic! He has been coming here since he was about 7 months old, was neutered here, and gets all of his vaccines here. If you’re nervous about getting your baby fixed here, don’t be! It’s a great facility.
Fantastic experience: We have 5 dogs and bring them here for vaccines. Snap is wonderful and love our babies. Definitely an organization to donate to. ♥️
Negative experience: I wish I could give a zero star to the service. I had an appointment to spay my cat. I came at 7:30AM . I filled out the form and kept waiting for my turn for more than two hours and I see people came after me and they started to serve them. When I asked the white lady that works at the desk why they got served before me, she started lying . Whenever I got my turn, I was told my cat may not get spayed today due to the high volume. Why do I get an appointment in the first place if my cat will not get spayed??? I ended up not spying my cat and going back home. I do not recommend anyone to go to this location. DO NOT WASTE your time going to this location! Your pet will have a heart attack waiting to get served.
Fantastic experience: Today was our first visit by way of a referral through our Vet at Vetco for our pet, Tae. She is a 6yr old Chipin. As she has gotten older now, it was recommended she get spayed right away to prevent any complications of uterine infection, inflammation and possible tumor development. The staff was amazing!! From beginning to end the front desk, Shan, Laura and checkout tech, Jade and other support staff really made us feel welcomed and at ease with the whole step by step process. Thank you all for a job well done!!!!
Negative experience: I had an appointment made for drop off at 7:30am. I arrived at 7:15am and waited outside in the sun for 1hr till someone arrived to open the doors. After that I still had to fill out forms. By that time, I had to go to work so I ended up leaving and not even getting my pet into her surgery. If you go please be prepare to wait a while and fill out forms with a lot of people with their pets. It was just a hot and frustrating morning.
Fantastic experience: Through the years we have had all of our stay cats and dogs that we gave a home to neutered or spayed here. Have not used their services or 15 or 16 years until last summer when we homed a female kitten. They were great back then and are so awesome now! Pricing is great. Facilities are clean and well taken care of. Highly recommend their services. Please support them and donate a bit extra if you can.
Fantastic experience: Excellent service, the veterinary staff was very kind and helpful. Unfortunately it wasn’t time for my dog spay surgery but I’ll be there next month. They treated her so nicely, a trusty place for your pets at an affordable price
Negative experience: Made an appointment for 7am to neuter my dog. Got there on-time and was the 5th person to check-in to drop-off my dog as per their instructions. Just to be called at 3:30 pm to inform me that my dog wasn't neutered, due to time constrictions? Dogs don't get surgery based on first come first serve or appointment based. Why wasn't I informed earlier so that I could get my dog back. Took a day off from work to neuter my dog for nothing. Will not be coming here again.
Fantastic experience: Couldn't be happier with the vet technicians here. I felt safe having to leave my kids here for their surgeries. Thankful n appreciative to yall . #Dozjakat #Rapheal
Fantastic experience: I have taken all 8 of my cats to SNAP. They are very efficient and kind. Bugs Malone is my last little one.
Negative experience: Horrible experience for my daughter and her dog! She took him to get fixed and he ended up getting an infection. She had to take to another vet to get antibiotics and pain medication. I initially thought it was a fluke but another customer had the same exact experience. So instead of saving money both spent more money by having to go to a 2nd vet.
Fantastic experience: Great place. Very nice vet techs working there. I’m sure it gets crazy but they all kept their calm and helped everyone in the line. My baby kitty had his coconuts removed and when I picked him up at the end of the day he was perfectly fine, a little woozy from the meds but otherwise he came home and went straight to eat and take a nap. I highly recommend this place for a low cost option.
Negative experience: I am extremely disappointed with my recent visit. I had scheduled a neuter appointment for my cat for the 18th of March. My husband took 2 days off of work for this. Took my cat in , filled out paperwork etc and they weighed him etc and left him there thinking he was going to get surgery. Around 4 PM they decide to call me and tell me to come and pick my cat up because all surgeries were canceled for the rest of the day due to a “pet emergency “. They didn’t offer no explanation or apology. It shouldn’t have taken all day to let me know. My cat was probably scared being in there all day wondering what was going on. Also if you want to schedule or cancel an appointment they NEVER respond to emails. Website is ALWAYS acting up. Most likely will not be going back. I’ve taken two pets to get surgeries here in the past but this situation ruined my experience.
Fantastic experience: Great clinic- great area and a very clean clinic, great prices and wonderful amazing and super caring staff. They took the best care of my pug, Gus! They were very helpful and informative about the surgery. Again, Thank you so much to the staff!
Negative experience: MY CAT PASSED AFTER A SURGERY AT SNAP. I brought my cat into Clinic in good health, but sadly, she passed away within 5 days due to complications from anesthesia administered during surgery. The emergency line took an hour to respond to my call for help, and by the time the answered, it was too late. Doctors Boyle and McKay performed the surgery, and Dr. McKay's only advice was that next time I should have taken my pets to a full-service clinic rather than a low-cost animal hospital. Please reconsider bringing your animals here. I hope this review saves even one sighthound. Take your pup somewhere else, somewhere where they actually care about the animals that they are treating. Please, please, please, do not take your pets to this place.
Fantastic experience: The wait is long. I think it depends on the volume since there are no appointments and neutering is done on designated days. Overall my large dog’s procedure went well and he was in good spirits and his pain was obviously managed. This is a great affordable option.
Fantastic experience: I am deeply grateful and eternally thankful for this organization. The exceptional level of care and patience shown towards my young kitten, Griffin, is truly extraordinary. The online booking process was incredibly convenient, and thanks to the generous donations from the community, they are able to maintain affordable costs. Given the current situation with displaced animals and avoidable births, it is crucial to prioritize spaying and neutering. This marks the fourth time I have entrusted my cat's well-being to this establishment, and I will undoubtedly return in the future.
Fantastic experience: The Durham location has always been very professional and caring to any animal that I e taken there. I foster a lot of dogs and cats, and they are a tremendous help to me with their low costs! I will always support them with gratitude!
Negative experience: I would avoid coming to this place, I don’t feel the staff is trained to look forward and receive pets, (check in process) for start they made me come the day and time they wanted, without even asking me, I was waiting a month to be confirmed for my appointment via email, When the day came, I was 7:30am at the clinic they asked me to stay with my pet during the anesthesia, I told them that it was ok, 30 minutes later they told me that wasn’t necessary and I was able to leave and pick her up at 4pm, I leave at 9:00am. At 11:00am I received a call from them. saying they are not going to proceed with the surgery because my pet was 5 pounds overweight, just to be clear I totally understand what does that means , but why do they make me go there, and they receive my pet and weigh her? When I arrive at 1:00pm for picking up my pet, I told them if I can talk to the doctor who gave the instruction not to perform the surgery, then they proceed to tell me that was “doctor” BAKER and that she is not punctual at all, and she never arrives at the clinic on time. She does was she wants, putting personal stuff before her work, she seems to me a very unprofessional person who plays with people's time, at the end of all, no one gave me an answer to my problem, and they only gave me my money back , I think the place is very unreliable.
Fantastic experience: Outstanding from the front desk to doctors and techs. I had three males neutered and 1 female spayed. The price was right and the care was above reproach. Friendly staff made a concerted effort to ensure that I was properly informed and edified as to proper postoperative procedures. You simply can't go wrong entrusting these folks with your four-legged family member's veterinary needs. Great vaccination prices as well! If you're on ANY type of government assistance program, be sure to inquire about their deals and discounts.
Positive experience: A wonderful service to/for the community. We had a male dog and a female dog altered and vaccinated, no post surgical issues. The only suggestion I can make is to offer best care (if someone brings their pet in for a spay, offer ALL vaccinations and prevention). I know most that go there are looking for something specific and nothing more, but some simply don’t know and will approve additional wellness care if it is offered.
Fantastic experience: Great place to take my sweet new pup. From the doctor to the front desk, everyone is very nice and helpful. You can’t beat the price and the quality is there. The location is also well kept and doesn’t reek like some of the other low cost clinics. 10/10 recommend making the switch to this wellness clinic for your pups needs.
Fantastic experience: My kitty healed well and quickly after her spay and is back to her mischief getting into self.
Fantastic experience: I strongly recommend this facility. The front check-in staff was friendly and patient. I filled out paperwork, the process was organized and efficient. Denise, the Veterinary Technician made me feel so at ease. She answered all my questions and was so friendly. SNAP is awesome!
Fantastic experience: They were very quick with the appointment time. In and out almost. Don't forget to donate when you pick up your animal. Thank you, my Foxy girl is healed fine. Highly recommend.
Negative experience: Used to take my former dog here all of the time. It was great...affordable and easy to go see doctor because you can just walk in. Now they've changed everything, and I think hate is too strong, but I am not happy with their changes; I won't be going back. I did see the vet after waiting almost 45 minutes. I told her that my pup hadn't eaten a whole lot, because it was so hot and we had a home visitor ringing the doorbell so lots of distraction things. She immediately ASSUMED that my puppy was sick and refused to give her the shots that she (my puppy) needs this week. I don't care if it is a holiday weekend. They were not closed yet when I went inside and signed up. I would not set foot in there again, even if they begged and gave me free vaccines (for my travel, wait time, and inconvenience of not getting those vaccines). My puppy is not sick. Once we finally got home, she ate so much she could have floated on the river. My puppy hasn't been out very much because of needing those vaccines. She was unusually quiet at the vet, but not because of illness.
Fantastic experience: Very reasonable and affordable. Staff is very friendly. And they give your animal great care and after care information. My cat had gotten neutered and they had put a small comfort blanket in her kennel that made her stay calm.
Fantastic experience: Excellent vet. The total cost of neutering my newest kitty including all vaccinations and a wellness exam was less than half of what my regular vet charges. Book your spay/neuter appointment at least 10 days in advance (their appointment dates fill up quickly) and plan on about an hour each for dropoff and pickup (remember, you're getting a great vet for a few hundred dollars less than a traditional vet's office).
Fantastic experience: Nice staff, have been using their services for years!! Excellent treatment of my fur babies!
Fantastic experience: Very clean and organized business. Took my cat to get spayed and I spent less than 150.00 to get her fixed and all her up to date shots and microchip. Very pleased with results. Feel free to use them for your spay and neuter needs. The only thing I have a slight complain about is the discharge of the animals.. they repeat the same speech to everyone picking up their pet. I heard the care speech like 10 times before I heard it fory pet to be released. I think they should say it by groups that way they don't waste 2 hours telling the owners of the animals the same instructions. It seems redundant and a waste of resources.
Fantastic experience: I brought my dog here to be sprayed last year by October. It was easy to schedule her surgery appointment online, showed up that morning to drop her off, and picked her up at the end of the day. The price was fair and the doctor explained the procedure and they provided everything you need at home.
Fantastic experience: This is a great establishment. It is a non-profit organization that provides really low-cost wellness checks, vaccinations, and micro chipping. The staff is very sweet and accommodating. I took my Bully to get neutered and microchipped 2 weeks ago! Very pleased .
Fantastic experience: I brought my dog here to be neutered. I scheduled his surgery appointment online, showed up that morning to drop him off, and picked him up at the end of the day. It couldn't have been any easier. The staff was very nice and professional. Sand the price was fair.
