You are not pressured to over drug your dog when bringing it in.,no matter what type of animal you bring in to Dr. J take's his time and speaks to you without using any over used medical terminology. You don’t feel rushed and you don’t feel pressured into buying expensive medications or food. A very hometown feel.

Experiencia negativa: When we can get in to see the vet, they are wonderful, but sadly, yesterday was the third time in a year that our family had a pet health issue during their day working hours. Not only could they not fit us in, we were told they couldn't get us in for 5 days, and we were told to go to the emergency vet. After talking that advice the first time we learned our lesson. We called a different vet that was able to get us in the same day and even squeezed us in the same hour. I'm told they have staff shortages, and I can be understanding, but July 6th marks 1 year from the first time we were given this excuse. Look elsewhere, there are many great vets in the area.

I even worked under rob Hess at the Winter Park veterinarian clinic. And I will say one thing, there is no other better than dr david !!!! . in my opinion and many others.As him! He is so appreciated !!!! Words can't describe!

Even though the hamster got some devastating news that she only had a few months to live, we gave her her best life and the vet promised to take care of her when it was time, R.I.P Tina They go above and beyond here, they freaking LOVE animals and it shows! I love Geneva, I love this office, let's keep it in business, bring all of your animals here. It pretty much seems like they'll see any animal here as long as it's legal, so bring em on down to your country neighborhood vet clinic and have the experience you'll always cherish, even if you get bad news. The hamster paw prints in the clay made me happy and I got a sympathy card in the mail, this place goes extra and I love it!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Jourdenais is THE vet! I've worked with animals for over 20 years now and Dr Jourdenais is the only vet I've met that cares for ALL animals! Most vets do cats and dogs, occasionally they'll attempt to trim a bird's nails (but never the beak). They don't do "exotic" animals (rabbits, rodents, etc...not really exotic, I think they're just lazy and want to do the masses instead of taking time for the delicate patients). My first trip to Geneva Oaks was for my pet squirrel. She'd been in a fight with another squirrel and had been bitten on the shoulder. A bot fly took advantage of the injury and I tried to take her to my vet of 14 years to have what I thought was an abscess, drained. My vet was incredulous that I would even ask him to degrade himself by touching a rodent! "I work on REAL pets" was his reply. She IS a real pet and she's very loved. I called Geneva Oaks (after being refused by every single vet in Oviedo) and the secretary was so so wonderful! She was so compassionate and had me come right in. Twirly had never been to a vet so we were a bit apprehensive as to how she would react. Dr. Jourdenais found me a pair of gloves (just in case) but Twirly was so at ease that she allowed me to lift her from her cage bare handed. Doc assessed the situation and informed me that Twirly had a bot fly larvae just under the skin and took her into surgery right then and there! Within seconds, he'd removed the larvae and prescribed antibiotics and an antibiotic cream. Not only have I taken squirrels in, full grown squirrels at that, but one of my laying hens was dropping her wings, Doc took her in immediately and although nothing showed up in the tests, he knew something was obviously wrong, prescribed medication and within a week, my best laying hen was back on top of the flock! It's a 13 mile drive from here to his place and I have to pass at least a half dozen vets to get there, but if it were a 13 HOUR drive, I'd do it anyway. This is a vet who really cares about the animals, who knows the owners are in distress as well and cares for both with equal compassion, information and understanding. If every vet were like Dr. Jourdenais, every animal would be in the very best hands. It appears as if he's taken his time and talent and put it into loving his clients and their owners. He's so down to earth he's like your brother, he listens to his clients and really observes (or "listens") to his patients. Geneva Oaks is the best, hands down!

Experiencia fantástica: I can't say enough good things about Dr. Jourdenais and his entire staff. He is an excellent vet who cares about you and your pets. He is what his website says, Modern medicine practiced the old-fashioned way. I have taken our dogs and cats to him have never been disappointed. I don't think you will find anyone in Central Florida that will take the time to explain things to you and make both you and your pets very comfortable.

Experiencia fantástica: I have lived in Chuluota for over 30 years & consequently have become acquainted with numerous veterinary practices in the area. I have found the quality of medicine and ethics to vary significantly amongst them. With Dr David, I always experienced the peace of mind of knowing my animals are in capable hands and will receive excellent care. He has saved the life of my daughter's cat twice (it lived to a ripe age of 24 years), he delicately removed a tumor from our tiny Zebra finch (still alive today), he has even been opened minded enough to approve my use of an experimental drug, which saved the eye of a rescue kitten I was fostering. I have found he & his staff to be kind, supportive, compassionate when having to put my pet to sleep, open minded in considering alternative treatments, cost considerate, honest and ethical. If he feels a situation is beyond his level of expertise, he has no problem referring one onto a specialist. With my background in pharmaceutical sales, private medical practice, clinical research, plus a Masters level education involving animal research- I feel fortunate that I am often able to differentiate appropriate from inappropriate care. I have experienced other veterinary practices prescribe inappropriate medications -example an ear wash containing a steroid but no antibiotic for a bacterial ear infection in my Great Dane. When I lifted their prescribing label, & discovered the omission, I called them on it. I was left opened mouth with their excuse- they were out of the appropriate medication that day. Obviously I learned what their priorities were and it wasn't my pet's welfare. My neighbor (seeing a different vet in the area), just recently had a similar experience with his Labrador. The prescribed medication was supposed to be for a yeast infection- yet his dog's ear was not improving. I asked to see the container so I could examine the ingredients- and upon inspection, discovered it only contained an antibacterial component. I suggested he return it and ask for the appropriate medication, which should also contain an antimycotic. He did and the vet not only charged him for another visit, but the correct medication which should have been prescribed to begin with. Wow! Was this just sloppy medicine, a lack of integrity/ownership for an error, or a deliberate way of generating more revenue? All of the above? I have never had this issue to worry about with Dr David. If you are continually having to return to your vet and being sold a bunch of stuff- be wary. Although I do not consider Dr David cheap ... you truly get what you pay for. His integrity, quality of care and commitment to your animals welfare will always shine through.

When I had to put down my weimaraner this year who was 14 years old the staff and Dr. Dave were very sensitive to the situation. I highly recommend Dr. Dave to anyone looking for a great vet with a small town feeling.

Experiencia fantástica: David Jourdenais is an excellent vet! He is really great with reptiles and he has seen all of my Bearded Dragons, and he has helped them out tremendously each time. He is extremely knowledgeable and very easy going. Also the office is very clean and has a welcoming feel to it. I live about an hour away and it is well worth the drive. This is the only vet I will ever use for my reptiles!

My cat got sick and I took him in to the vet I worked at, and what that vet had me do made my cat worse, so I went to dr. J, and within a week my kitty was back to normal. I trust dr. J and have not a bad word to say about him. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs an affordable vet, who truly cars about you and your pets.

I cant believe the dummy before me thinks his dog got bacterial spinal meningitis from s heartworm test. I called University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine.... that said that's impossible.

Since then, we've taken all of our small animals (dogs and cats) to this office. The staff has always been professional and kind. Dr. Jourdenais has always been thoughtful and has an excellent bedside manner, not to mention spot-on diagnoses and care! We are lucky to have such a facility in our area.

Dr. Jourdenais is a wonderful Vet and is so patient and makes one feel comfortable, even when you have a lot of questions. He is most knowledgeable in his field...just truly a wonderful animal Doctor. I recommend him without the slightest hesitation. 5 stars for sure!

Today was his final day on Earth. Thank you to the staff and veterinarians at Geneva Oaks for the best dog ever!

Experiencia fantástica: Hands down and without question the best vet practice I’ve ever encountered and I’m EXTREMELY picky. We have mastiffs and a large mixed breed. While we do have human children, we view our dogs as our furry family members too, so we take their health as seriously as we take our own- which is as it should be. A vet we saw prior to Dr. David was negligent and very nearly killed our senior mastiff, but when I called Dr. David for help, he rushed to the rescue. He literally saved my dog from certain death with his quick response, well thought out treatment plan and his huge heart. He came to us during the COVID pandemic, so our 200 pound, very sick giant breed, didn’t have to go through the stress of leaving the house and neither did we- that is compassionate caring at its finest. His prices are extremely reasonable, his staff are amazing and they offer a huge range of services on site- including boarding with large indoor/outdoor dog runs and also grooming. You won’t find a better veterinary practice than Geneva Oaks. Trust me, I’ve looked and nowhere comes close to the consistently wonderful care that our furry family receives from them.
