Fantastic experience: I am so grateful for the care that my dog received at Vistancia Animal Hospital! I brought my Golden Retriever in for another issue and Dr. Barksdale felt a golf ball sized lump in his neck. We never noticed it because of all of his fur. She called it from the beginning. She suspected cancer and told us that it was, she would recommend a board certified surgeon because of the location of the tumor to the jugular. She then broke down next steps and gave us a price for each option. We opted to do a test that would verify the cells in the tumor. Dr. Barksdale called us after closing. She confirmed that my 5 1/2 year old dog had an aggressive type of cancer. She spent SO MUCH TIME with me on the phone even though I knew it was after hours and she probably wanted to go home. She showed so much compassion and really helped me consider next steps. Dr. Barksdale referred me to a very competent surgeon. After determining surgery was not an option because of the location, Dr. Barksdale was always a phone call away to replenish prescriptions and add new ones to help my boy stay comfortable as the cancer progressed. 3 weeks after my Golden's diagnosis, we made the difficult decision to put my dog down. When I called the morning we decided to do this, they told me that Dr. Barksdale wouldn't be in at the time I was coming in. To my amazement, she walked into the room when we arrived. I said, "I didn't think you were here." She said, "I stayed to be with you all". TRULY UNBELIEVABLE. Dr. Barksdale sat on the floor with us, didn't rush us, showed raw emotion, and was with us every step of the way as we said goodbye to our boy. I also want to mention that as soon as we arrived, the staff put us in a room immediately. In the room, they had a blanket on the floor, a lit candle, a box of tissue, and 2 water bottles for us. I appreciated the thoughtfulness. When Dr. Barksdale had a day off, Dr. Mohr was very helpful when I was having a complication with my dog. She ,too, took the time on the phone to explain what was happening and how we were going to approach the new symptoms. Finally, I have to acknowledge Marnie and Gail, the customer service representatives. They showed such kindness and compassion to our sad situation. They made me feel like I was the only customer they had. This has been such a difficult loss for us but the care that we received at Vistancia Animal Hospital helped me have peace knowing my Golden had top notch care.

Fantastic experience: We have been taking our black lab to Vistancia Animal Hospital since she was a puppy. Dr. Long is kind and patient, and always takes time to listen to our concerns. We have had to make several emergency and same-day appointments without any difficulty. I also want to call out the medical assistants. They allow me to be present for services if possible. Payton is so calm and understanding and has made my experiences with an anxious dog so much easier. I gladly recommend this vet office to anyone and am happy to share my experience.

Fantastic experience: The lady at the front desk actually looked thru the paperwork I brought from previous vets, and pointed out to me that my cat wasn't due for a vaccine for another six months. I'm very grateful she saved me time and helped me schedule an appt six months out!

Fantastic experience: I think Vistancia Animal Hospital is one of the most professional and yet tender hearted office that I have ever used for our dog care. All of the doctors are Excellent. And the staff is always there to help. Dr. Long performed our dogs last surgery and everything went very smoothly. Peyton, Dr. Longs assistant explained everything to us carefully and checked in with us to be sure we were OK.

Fantastic experience: The vet tech and Dr Moore were so kind and informative about Gracie and made me feel confident that she would be just fine. It was also a pleasant surprise to get a phone call from Marnie the following day to check on my Gracie. Thank you all!

Fantastic experience: VISTANCIA Animal Clinic has taken care of our fur babies since we moved here three years ago. We had a slight emergency we Sophie this past week and everyone from front desk to Dr Long took very excellent care of her. Also very patience with with our concerns. Thank you all!

Fantastic experience: Vistancia was very welcoming and got my injured pup in ASAP. They were open and honest about the costs and worked with me. If it wasn't so far away from my home normally, I would make it our primary vet. I surely recommend them.

Fantastic experience: On the highest level, I recommend Vastancia Animal Hospital. They actually care more than I have ever experienced. The doctor went out of his way to do whatever he had to do to take care of my sick dog. He needed immediate surgery for his problem. The doctor priced it out for me. The prices were astronomical, and he actually called in a favor doctor. She's coming to his facility to do the surgery, and it's half price. Doctor Alex McCain, you are the best!

Fantastic experience: Needed to bring our dog in for anal gland abcess. They were able to see her same day we called. They cleaned it out, prescribed her medication , and gave her the yearly vaccines she was due for. All for way less than I was expecting.Thank you!

Fantastic experience: A stray dog, with no microchip, showed up on my door step on a Saturday morning with Cholla cactus all over him including in his mouth. I called Vistancia Animal Hospital, and despited having a fully booked schedule on a half day. They said bring him down, we can help. They removed all the painful thorns and gave this dog a chance to start healing with less pain. I am grateful.

Fantastic experience: Care for my dog in an emergency was outstanding! Everyone here is kind, caring and truly seek to be helpful. They took their time to properly diagnose my dog and I felt like she was treated very well. However, make no mistake, pet care (especially in an emergency) is expensive (at any vet office/hospital) but they make sure you know how much it is going to be and give you choices before they render care. I appreciate that there is no surprises when you go to pay.

Fantastic experience: It’s always easy to get scheduled here, and the team is very flexible and accommodating. I truly love the care my dogs receive at Vistancia Animal Hospital. Kristin and Melissa at the front desk are amazing, they always remember you and your dogs, which makes every visit feel personal and welcoming. Dr. Long is great, and I’ve also seen other doctors here who have all been excellent. While it can be a bit pricey (which is why I also use a low-cost vet for certain things), this is definitely my primary clinic whenever anything comes up. The level of care and customer service keeps me coming back.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Long is the best! Our pets absolutely love him and he is very honest and upfront about what he thinks they truly need for treatment, which is a rarity in my experiences elsewhere. The entire staff is great and I feel like our pets are in competent hands.

Negative experience: What I can say about this business is that the front desk ladies were very pleasant and the tech was also. I scheduled to have dewclaws and tails done for a litter of puppies and was charged for an exam of each puppy that I do not feel even took place. I did not get to speak with the vet at all before or after the appointment. I had one of the litter born without a tail and one of my main concerns was whether or not the pup would be otherwise normal as far as his bones and digestive tract. When I inquired about this after the appointment the front desk lady went to get the vet or tech but returned with a “yea the puppy is healthy as far as he could tell but it’s important to keep monitoring it etc etc.” which was basically just a generic response and basically told me he didn’t actually do any examination. I was also not asked about preferred length of tail as every other vet has done in the past. This vet was my second choice and $200 more than my first choice that didnt have the availability to schedule the surgery. Before private equity and large corporate entities began acquiring all the clinics and hospitals, you would get much better care for far more reasonable prices even when adjusting for inflation. Vets used to be owners and have relationships with clients and cared about your animals and their communities.. nowadays vets are just employees who are compelled to push packages and services that aren’t necessary for anything other than increasing profit to appease shareholders. I feel like this is what explains the not so great service I received from this hospital. YMMV. Thank you to the front desk ladies who are most likely overworked and underpaid but still show up with smiles and kindness.

Fantastic experience: I love everyone at VAH!!! They get you in quickly when your baby is feeling poorly. They always call the next day to check on you. I have said farewell to my beloved Lucy and welcomed a new puppy named Daisy Mae this year, and Dr Barksdale has walked it all with us along with all of the staff.

Fantastic experience: Our dog Finley recently visited to get his yearly updated shots and he can get super nervous and timid at the vet. Every time we’ve taken him here (and our cat) the staff has been patient and accommodating with him. I’ve had bad experiences in the past elsewhere and I’m happy to say we’ve found our go to vet for all of our pets future health needs. Thank you to the staff at Vistancia for all you do!

Positive experience: (Prev. Review, 2024) This vet is amazing!!! Dr. Long has always taken immaculate care of my cats. Gave the best care to my buddy Turbo who lived a short life. My current cat, Romeo, is getting equally amazing care. Courtney, my tech has also always been a great tech as well! Gale always makes checking in and out pleasant. Edit (2025): I used to love this place, now it seems like every time I come here it’s a drag. Making the appointment has always been super easy, which is good. But now every time I come in, I’m waiting 20 minutes to be seen in 20 minutes to check out. I take my cat in for a simple check up, some shots, and a slight suspicion of sickness, only for an estimate to be put before me at almost $1000. Mind you this is the high end but I still ended up paying $250 for my cat’s shots. It is sad that I’m having to consider other vets especially ones that offer military discount and appreciate vets rather than offering a discount if I fill out a review or donate something. The veterinarians here are great, but business Interest has definitely gone away from the Customer.

Fantastic experience: I want to give a huge shout out to LINDA! She took the time to help me with getting medicine for Raven! She found a much cheaper option and had Dr. MCCAIN write a presciption that I took to Safeway and had filled. Linda saved me $80.00 on Raven's meds!! AND she even helped me get Raven's heartworm meds through the portal for 15% cheaper!! She is such a blessing! When money is tight for all of us...AND...we love our pets, she helps to find options for families to get the medicine to help their sick pet! THANK YOU LINDA! And I cannot forget her good tip on helping Raven lose a few founds One of the reasons I love Vistancia Animal Hospital is the way the staff and doctors put their patients FIRST!

I called vistancia vet and they had us in the same day and for that I have been forever grateful. We were there recently with another dog not feeling well yet again same day visit. EVERYONE there is very welcoming and the Dr's are top notch. We love these guys!

All the staff make this place a safe haven for beloved companions. I was informed of test results early the next am. Dr McCain was great! He explained exam steps while performing them on my pet and his findings. Very helpful to me as a retired nurse! Made me feel confident in the care received!

Fantastic experience: This is by far the BEST vet office ever. They are so kind and truly listen to your questions/concerns & care about your animals. It’s clean, they get you in/out in a timely manner, and explain everything in detail. My older dog is terrified of vets and he did SO good here. Our rescue/foster fail dog had to have an amputation surgery & they were amazing throughout the entire process & called many times to check on her progress/answer any questions I had. I have just been so extremely impressed by the care & professionalism this office has for its clients & their owners. We are so happy we switched vets and were referred to this office by a friend!

Fantastic experience: We have a rescue that has some aggression and guarding issues and we have tried everything, so we decided it was time to talk to the Vet to see if there was anything else we can try. We were one of the later appointments so there wouldn’t be a waiting room full of other pets. Dr. McCain took the time to listen and to the whole picture and situation, although it was taking a little longer than planned Dr. McCain never rushed us, even though it was closing time. He gave us options and a great game plan. We love and are so thankful for the whole staff at Vistancia Animal hospital, they go out of their way to help.

Fantastic experience: All the staff at this Veterinary office are WONDERFUL!!!! They never rush you, take time to answer all your questions and follow up the next day with a phone call to check on your pet. I really really appreciate their kindness and the way they handle my highly reactive rescue dog and try their best to make it as stress-free as possible for her. Mackenzi is especially sweet and loving with our dog Harper and I really appreciate her TLC. Oh and not to mention the fact that Harper just loves them too!!

Negative experience: Terrible experience with this vet. Went in for a cyst removal and they caused a hot Spot so bad he had to go to the ER for treatment. 1800 dollars later, I would NOT recommend this vet. They are completely incompetent and inhumane with their treatment.

Fantastic experience: I called with a bit of a emergency for my little dog Bella, I was very pleased that they were able to get us in quickly. Bella felt much better when they brought her out to me.

Fantastic experience: The staff always takes great care of my doggos! This time Willow went in for a teeth cleaning and a pain check up. I appreciated the communication during the procedure. They gave me clear home care instructions and always follow up with a phone call or two to see how they are doing after their visits.

Fantastic experience: Kind and compassionate staff. I brought my senior Yorky mix in as an emergency and they were able to quickly help the situation and give me the proper medication and follow up to keep him on a healthy path. They will now be my preferred Veterinary Clinic.

Fantastic experience: A really good experience here. I had a hard time getting an appointment at my local vet and Vistancia Animal Hospital were able to fit both my dogs at the same time/same day within a few hours. Both dogs doing great with one needing treatment, but it was simple, cost effective and great service from the vet and the team here.

Fantastic experience: Called and they agreed to see my cat right away because she ate some adult medicines. Not sure what but they treated her and she got to go home that afternoon. Very grateful for their help. Dr Long was there and explained what needed to be done.

Fantastic experience: Dr Long was wonderful! I love how he gives the different options for treatment and doesn’t make you feel bad if you don’t pick the most expensive option. I am so glad to have found Vistancia!

Fantastic experience: The doctor and nurse were very nice and professional. We went in to get an allergen test for our pitbull, he was very honest about the reliability of the results of the test and we eventually chose to forgo getting the test and went another route. We appreciate that he wasn’t just trying to sell a service and take our money, without having confidence in the results.

Fantastic experience: I appreciate both Dr DePew and Dr McCain taking a moment to explain in more depth a couple small issues I had with Boomer. Peyton, Sara and the other staff members were friendly, professional, and efficient. I like the well organized system of making appts. Was surprised at Sara's follow up call after the appt. Have never had that even with an emergency. Thank you to all. I highly recommend VAH!

Fantastic experience: My dog Harley, a Mini-Schnauzer, was lunged at and bit by a much larger dog. Both on leash. He had a deep gash on his neck. First dog trauma for both of us. I called Vistancia Animal Hospital ASAP. It was before operating hours but Gail, receptionist, answered. I explained the situation and she told me be there by 8 a.m. when a doctor comes in. She explained that they are totally booked but an emergency would come first. They took us in immediately, diagnosed the injury, and took him back for surgery prep. Dr. Mohr was wonderful and explained what she would be doing and explained the worstcase scenario if there was injury deeper that would require drains. The technician explained costs of procedure from low end to high end. All went well and he's recovering fine. VAH stayed in communication after surgery and also the next morning checking in on my first and only fur baby. Thank you so much for taking exemplary care of Harley this visit and for the past 7+ years. I know he's always in great hands with Dr. Mohr, Dr. Alex McCain, and VAH staff. Kudos!

Fantastic experience: Nicole and Dr Long truly professional in all they do!! Examined Sophie and administrated a Rabie Vacine. Received a detailed cost from Gail for what they did.

Negative experience: Although our first visit to this clinic went well and they were able to get us in quickly for an emergency, I would not recommend this place for feline care. When I called to schedule a follow-up after my cat’s procedure, I specifically asked if there would be a charge. I was told that as long as the visit was within 15 days of the procedure, there would be NO CHARGE for the visit. However, because my cat was stressed during the first visit, they immediately recommended sedating him again just for the check-up. I explained that he had returned to his normal self, and we were not comfortable sedating him. They stated that they would make a note of that. The night before the appointment, I received a confirmation call where the staff member asked if I agree to give my cat medication to sedate him the night before and the morning of the appointment since he wasn’t happy with them the last time. When I told her that I already declined sedating him when I made this appointment, she seemed upset and said, “Okay, I’ll make a note of that” and hung up on me. When we arrived for his appointment, we were presented with a form asking us to agree to pay over $150 to sedate him "if needed" just for a follow up. I was told at the time of the appointment that only the exam was covered.This was never explained to me beforehand, and it contradicted what I was originally told. I also did not appreciate the way the staff repeatedly described my cat was very difficult to deal with. He was in pain during the first visit, which is why he reacted the way he did — that does not reflect his true temperament at all. Overall, I left feeling dismissed, pressured, and misled about costs. We canceled the appointment and we will not be returning and cannot recommend this clinic for feline care.

Fantastic experience: I took my baby girl Moomoo in this morning under an emergency situation, I was a mess. I wasn’t sure what the heck was going on with her. Immediately the ladies in the front took her in and were so so sweet and empathetic. The nurses in the back and the doctor, all so incredible and so so good to our girl. She spent the day there and they let us come in and check on her, they didn’t care how many times we called, just so amazing and so relieved to have had this team dealing with our girl in something so traumatic. They’ve got her all squared away and definitely brought her from a zero to back to life. I couldn’t be more appreciative. 100% recommend.

Fantastic experience: Always excellent and loving care for our pup and our two kitties at Vistancia Animal Hospital. Our dog, PearlMae, is diabetic and it has been quite a journey to keep her glucose levels on track. Drs Long and McCain have been nothing less than wonderful…as is the staff there. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: From Kristin, & Kat at the front desk to Melissa and Dr. McCain for Morgan’s exam visit, all went very well. We are transplants and prior to our visit for Morgan, we had experienced a very caring and kind staff when our cat Ziggy passed. Vistancia Pet Hospital has our confidence for our pet care. Last week Morgan had her teeth cleaned. Just want to thank the staff beginning with MacKenzi, who was very thorough with her explanation of the procedure. Morgan was treated with kindness and attention from Kristin at the front desk, to MacKenzi’s gentleness and playful handling of Morgan. Their treatment of Morgan puts this human mama at ease knowing my Morgan is in good hand. P.S. although I did not meet Dr Long only via phone communication and voicemail, my contact with the staff at Vistancia Animal Hospital has been nothing but very professional and personable. Fantastic experience: We have a fearful/reactive rescue who was on Trazadone for vet visits when we adopted him. Doctor sat on the floor with Luka for 10 minutes to let him get comfortable before the exam. By the time he started the exam Luka was relaxed and cooperative

Fantastic experience: They have been nothing but caring, professional, kind, and incredibly helpful. We have a cat and dog we bring here. They treat both of our animals like their own. Treatment options are well communicated and communication overall is amazing. I love that they call to check in on the animal after any visit and not just a procedure. They are very accommodating and I love the annual program for kids who want to be a vet.

Fantastic experience: Gail and the entire front office staff get us in for an appointment promptly when Teddy has an unexpected illness and needs to be seen sooner than later. Dr. Long and vet techs are so caring, and listen to the owners!

Fantastic experience: We have been going to them for years. We take our 9 year old Standard Poodle and our newly adopted Shnoodle to them and we are always happy with our visits. The staff is incredibly friendly and very patient with our dogs (since they are rescues). I recommend them to everyone!

Fantastic experience: We have been taking our dogs here for years. They have always been very helpful in diagnosis and super compassionate. We feel like family when we take our dogs in for shots and stuff. It is usually busy, but they are very receptive to everyone in the waiting room.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience going here! I brought in my cat for his senior check up and vaccinations. Payton took wonderful care of him throughout, and Stormy was as comfortable as he could be for a vet appointment. Highly recommend for anyone in the area, and will gladly be bringing Stormy back here for future veterinary needs.

Fantastic experience: Everyone in this clinic is extremely helpful and friendly. I have 3 dogs that I bring there for all their medical needs and nail trimming. Last time I brought in my golden retriever for an eye condition, and a week later, his eyes are back in his head and normal. Bryanna has been outstanding, you can tell she has passion for animals!

Fantastic experience: Had our kitty cat’s new patient visit with Dr. Mohr and Melissa on Saturday. They were both so welcoming and professional. Our kitty was completely comfortable with both of them. Going back next week for his dental procedure.

Fantastic experience: Vistancia Animal Hospital always takes great care of our pets. Despite being a busy clinic, they always make time to answer our questions and fit us in for appointments as needed. From the front office to the techs to the vets, they have excellent customer service. Today, we had Dr. Mohr as our vet and Kennedy as our vet tech, and received informative, compassionate care with all concerns addressed and a shared decision making plan that was discussed and agreed upon. We have also seen Dr. Long and Dr. Barksdale in the past, with great experiences all around. Thank you for all you do for the families and animals of our community!

Fantastic experience: I recently brought my scared kitty in for a mani/pedi. Tiffani was the sweetest vet tech listening to all my fears and concerns. Luckily they were able to have Zoe taken care of. I want to thank Tiffani for her patience with both my Zoe and her human.❤️

Positive experience: This place really needs to think about hiring people that have empathy and compassion for the customer service representative. Because BEN is not it. Absolutely opposite. He will sit and judge and nit pick anything you say. My mom has a dog who has never needed any services other than his shots and neutered when he was young so until now he needs serious help since he can barely function. When my mom called to try and make an emergency appointment BEN basically said best of luck you aren’t coming here. When our last two family dogs had passed we had zero problems getting them in and never had such terrible service until yesterday. So if you care about your pets and want decent customer service i do NOT recommend this place. Because compassion and any sort of empathy won’t be given here for your situation at all. Seems like they just want to rip peoples lives and wallets apart. But then my mom spoke to a different person on the phone today a lady and it was a complete 180 degree turn around compared to her conversation with Ben. She was able to Get my mom and her dog in on Monday with no hesitation and no "the animal needs To be seen by a vet prior" to euthanasia. So we will see how the actual appointment goes and if Ben will be just as Pleasant as he was on the phone. So the fact the lady was nice enough i changed their rating from 1-3 stars. ***update*** my moms last little dog ended up passing away a couple days later after her call. I still feel like that guy Ben is in the wrong business for sure. He should not have any human contact what so ever especially not customer service related.

Fantastic experience: Needed an emergency appointment for my two dogs while visiting my parents and they got me in in 20 minutes. Beautiful new facilities, kind staff all a round, and through testing and treatment plan. Would def recommend

Negative experience: I brought my Weimaraner in for an evaluation of a possible abscessed tooth. The vet didn’t even delve further to look inside her mouth nor check heart rate. It was as if she didn’t give a darn. I also requested a nail trim which if done wasn’t complete. Out of 20 nails 11 weren’t trimmed. Walked out with a bill for over $100 and a Rx for an antibiotic and an estimate if my dog needs a tooth extracted…. A mere $1700!!!

Fantastic experience: We had a great first experience. We took our dog in to get a second opinion on an eye infection she had been having for weeks. Everyone was very kind and the office was clean and welcoming. The treatment they did for our dog improved her eyes within 24 hours. We’re very grateful they tried other things from where we had taken her, since that didn’t seem to be working her at all. Definitely would recommend to anyone!
