Fantastic experience: Dr. Tryon and his staff are amazing. I have a 100lb GSD who is loud and a nervous Nelly. The staff is always so sweet to her and accommodating. Dr. Tryon has worked hard to fix her leaky bladder and find what meds work best for her while keeping costs at a minimum and taking my concerns into consideration. I followed him from Desert Hills Animal Clinic and am forever thankful for him and his expertise.

Negative experience: If “I don’t know” was a person it would be the vet that I saw. No recommendations, no tests, no meds no suggestions or guesses. Just a shrug and a “i don’t know, maybe” and wanted to send us on our way. It wasn’t until I specifically and repeatedly asked about my pet not eating or drinking that blood work was finally suggested and fluids. It was like pulling teeth. Over $200 down for a wait until it’s an emergency response from a vet. So disappointed, we were there for about an hour.

Fantastic experience: I love this vet! Everyone here is so friendly and patient with my very anxious dog. The waiting room is like a big living room. When I walked in for the first time, I thought I was in the wrong place because of how warm and homey the atmosphere is. I am so glad we switched over to Grand Paws. This is truly the best experience with a vet I have ever had.

Fantastic experience: I left my vet of 10+ years because it got bought out and went corporate. Grand paws is close to home, and our first time using them was last year with our younger lab - he had a MCT on his back, we got it biopsied and got the confirmation that it was cancerous. Dr. Tryon did the surgery and it went beautifully with clean margins. Recovery was great, and smooth. This last week, our older lab became ill and we needed to get her in ASAP. We worked Dr. Timinie (Timiney? Sorry!) and she was FABULOUS with our Zelda girl. We were preparing to say goodbye, as we thought it was the end, but we were lucky enough that the Dr. figured out what was going on and we got a hold of a scary situation FAST. Our girl is 90% back to normal and we are so thankful. We are grateful to have found this wonderful vet. Everybody from the front desk, to the techs, to the doctors are so welcoming and accomodating. I should mention we had to get our girl in very last minute twice and they made room easily for us. Can't say thank you enough!!

Fantastic experience: I have three cats and two dogs so I’m at the vet more often than not. I’ve also rescued several animals and they have helped me see if they were micro chipped and helped me with finding a home for the animals that I have found ! Everybody has been very friendly and treat the animals wonderfully

Fantastic experience: Dr Tryon seems very knowledgeable and clearly explained all the options for my doggy's care after we sought a second opinion for an unknown mass in her throat. He paid extra attention to her allergy-prone skin and offered us treatments to make her comfortable, rather than dismissing the issues as other vets had done in the past. The front desk staff are *always* incredibly professional and kind and I found the tech we saw very sweet as well. There is adequate seating in the waiting room for space to be kept between pets and the luxe couches are very comfortable. Parking is adequate and accessible. Update: Dr Tryon saved my 12 yo dog's life more than once this year. She had the aforementioned mass removed with incredibly tight margins and was later dx with heart failure, which has been well managed with medication for about 6 months with no complications. I have now been able to see both of the other clinicians and have loved how knowledgeable, patient, and compassionate they are. We said goodbye to our family dog in October, bringing her in for compassionate end of life services. It was thoughtful and peaceful, they played calming music and laid blankets out for us. It was as good an experience as it could have been. I highly recommend this clinic! Also notable, the seating is large and adequate, comfortable for all sizes and mobility needs in both the waiting room and private rooms.

Dr. Tryon is knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly takes the time to listen and explain options clearly. The entire staff is kind, patient, and treats our dogs like family. The staff truly cares—not just about medical treatment, but about our dogs as individuals. It’s incredibly reassuring to know our pets are in such capable and caring hands. Positive experience: Checking in and out customer service could use some work but maybe that’s everywhere though. Tech and vet were knowledgeable and pleasant. For 2 vaccines took about an hour appointment. It was a good place not great.

Negative experience: Our Chihuahua dog was going through severe issues from midnight till 3:45 AM. We called Grand Paws and left a message 6 AM. It’s 12:07 PM and not one return call. We ended up Going to an emergency clinic and she was euthanized. Obviously, when they get in in the morning, they don’t listen to their messages. Very unprofessional, not caring , The ironic thing is we always heard great things about them and have brought our dog there for years. They have gone downhill. A total joke all they care about is the Current making money no sympathy whatsoever. Wait till you have a Dire Straits situation! Then the true comes out.

Negative experience: This clinic diminished a significant health issue resulting in the loss of my beloved Westie and further can’t be bothered to renew a needed Rx dog food for my 15 yr. senior dog without a vet visit. I would never recommend this clinic. All about $$$

Positive experience: I have used Grand Paws much more than I wished to, but having two older cats I would not have taken them anywhere else. They really care. They understand and can help you through some tough times. Having been a customer elsewhere where the business seemed more important than the people and their pets I can truly appreciate Grand Paws. We came to Grand Paws because of the value price-wise and found a much bigger treasure there than just savings. Update. A couple of years ago this place seemed to become more in the business of making money than the good old country vet that I found the first time I went there. We followed a vet that we like there when he left to form his own practice. Not sure what it’s like now, but I know why we left. Unfortunately, most vet clinics in our area have become "corporations" and we all know that disconnects clients from the staff and your vet.

Negative experience: I am very disappointed in the service at Grand Paws. I reached out with a detailed email regarding my dog’s surgery needs, expecting some guidance or at least a price estimate. Instead, all I received was a generic response telling me to call and schedule a consultation. No effort to answer my questions. When I called directly, I asked for a quote and was told they do not provide estimates over the phone. I even asked if the representative could check with a manager, but she said it was simply their policy. This lack of transparency is very concerning. For comparison, I contacted two other highly regarded veterinary offices, Animal Medical Center in Surprise and Care Surgery Center. Both were upfront, professional, and provided clear pricing that was nearly identical. Grand Paws’ unwillingness to be open about costs feels unprofessional and does not inspire trust. In my opinion, transparency should be a priority in veterinary care, and unfortunately, this clinic does not offer that.

Fantastic experience: We have been going to grandpaws since our dog was a puppy and now 10 yrs old. Very good vets . Office staff is very nice and efficient. Have always taken good care of my dog.

Positive experience: ladies were all very nice but i did hear dr jackson talking behind the door in a really condescending manner about something I did with hershey (gave her aspirin in a desprate attempt to ease her pain), talked about me like I was stupid. Also he told me my dog had congestive heart failure and it was apparently incorrect as I got a call a few days later saying she does not in fact have chf. Like i was already handed print outs and given medication etc, and crying in the office. other than that all the girls were amazing and i love the office layout. i know i may not have done what was medically right for her *now* but if staff is going to talk smack please make sure its not literally right outside the door.

Fantastic experience: Grand Paws is the best veterinary clinic that I have found. I tried many others and the staff and Drs. have the other vets beat. The prices are definitely far better than the others. I own 11 dogs and I need a vet to be affordable, caring and know their craft.

Fantastic experience: Scheduled my new puppy for an appointment and was so pleasantly surprised to find the lady on the phone was so kind, caring, and professional. Their prices were also much better than the Lovet offices. Great experience and I found my new vet !

Negative experience: Not impressed at all! Went for 1st appt. had called in advance to let them know very skittish dog (puppy mill survivor). They were very kind on phone - got there way too many pets everywhere and super chaotic. My dog starts shaking so bad it was not good. Told the desk staff and the girl said "well what do you want me to do". Put her in a room away from hot mess maybe would have been a good idea. Once in room told they had emergencies so would be a wait ask for a guess on wait time - they had no idea. We left- wasn't impressed with staff or hot mess going on in every corner of that place. I get emergencies happen but maybe learning how to handle them or cancel other appts. would be a better plan than what we witnessed. I think overbooking could be an issue there but who knows. Not worth the time to figure out. I gave one star because when I called to make original appt. at least they were kind on the phone.

Fantastic experience: I recommend Grandpaws to everyone in need of a vet. 100 percent performance and satisfaction from the time you enter the door all the way to the end. The staff and the doctors are all amazing. Great atmosphere! They take such great care of all my fur babies.

Fantastic experience: Just moved to this side of the valley and was needing a new vet. So so so glad I stumbled upon this place and now they’re my favorite vet office I’ve ever had. Staff is all amazing, courteous, obviously care about what they do and care about their human and furry clients alike. Prices are also great and I never feel like they’re going for a money grab. Would recommend to anyone, love this place!

Negative experience: I am so disappointed in Grand Paws. We chose them 2 years ago because of the great reviews, but our recent experience has been awful. We had our 2 Bernese Mountain dogs neutered with preventative gastropexy surgery performed at the same time (with one dog also having rear dew claws removed). The night before the procedure they called to tell us one of the dogs had elevated liver enzymes (700+). They said they could still do the procedures, but would perform a liver biopsy at the same time. However, when we picked the dogs up the surgeon said she elected not to do it because the liver "looked fine". It seems to me common sense that if you are HOLDING the liver in your hand and the animal is already under anesthesia and cut open it would be a prime opportunity to avoid additional trauma for the dog, but of course, a second procedure means more money for anesthesia so I guess who cares about the best interest of the pet. The worst part is we were given absolutely no say in our dogs treatment - no one called to ask if we still wanted it performed, they just made the choice for us. On top of it, we were also given no pain meds for the evening. One of the dogs panted in pain for hours before we finally ended up at the emergency vet that night (20+ miles away) to get pain medication - an additional cost of $700 and more trauma for the dogs. The discharge paperwork from Grand Paws did not indicate what kind of post-op pain meds were given or what time so we had to sit at the ER vet to wait for enough time to pass before they could be treated with pain medication to avoid interactions or complications. The ER vet advised this type of neuter procedure was a fairly new process, and one of the dogs had severe bruising which was the cause of his discomfort and constant panting. On top of it, the pain meds that were given from Grand Paws for the following day was essentially the equivalent of Tylenol for people. One dog had 3 different procedures and they gave him nothing for pain the night of the operations and Tylenol for the following days??? The next day, Grand Paws tells us they gave us the wrong paperwork and that's not even the ER vet they use anymore - "oops, sorry". The ER vet fortunately showed some forward-thinking and asked if we had any previous bloodwork for the dog that had the elevated enzymes (something Grand Paws did not ask for despite knowing the dog had another procedure performed 6 weeks earlier at a different facility because it was a weekend) and when we looked, sure enough his enzymes were in the 300s (still way too high). Enzymes in the 700s alone should prompt a liver biopsy when it is that convenient, but a jump that quick and that high definitely warrants one. Since the prior vet didn't indicate his enzymes were high (which they should have) we never thought to check and no one outside of the ER vet asked. Now we wait another month for more blood work and ultrasounds and a multitude of other tests to likely find he will still need the most invasive procedure - the liver biopsy. The dogs are terrified of this place now and bringing them back for follow ups is hurtful to watch. The way this has unfolded is at a minimum, irresponsible. After speaking to the surgeon the next day she at least did admit she should have performed the biopsy or at least called us - not much of a consolation prize. If you love your pups, find somewhere else because I have lost all faith in this place. Happy to provide images from the night of or the paperwork showing the severe bruising, the paperwork we were provided directing us to the "incorrect" ER vet and the undisclosed post op pain meds. Any recommendations for a competent, compassionate vet (one who specializes in large breeds) is very welcome.

Fantastic experience: The front desk ladies were very welcoming and helpful with my over excited pups! The techs were attentive and provided many options that fit our needs. Dr. Tryon was thorough and patient with our puppies. He is definitely relational and not transactional! It’s always easy to get seen and they always make us feel like a priority.

Fantastic experience: We have been going to Grand Paws for many years. With all our fur babies. And now with my Stormi girl. She is all i have now. All my former animals we have had were seen at Grand Paws. And now they are all in heaven with my husband. From 18-19 years old to 15 years old they were our family animals and we miss them all.

While visiting the clinic, not only did they take care of my dogs concerns, but they were vey attentive with me, as I had a medical emergency myself. Fantastic experience: I really want to leave this review for Grand Paws Animal Clinic. We moved a couple years ago. In our previous city we had a dedicated vet that we took our animals to. Once we moved we went vet shopping. It was miserable, it felt like a used car dealership every time we tried a new vet. It was so miserable that when I went to Grand Paws today I had my guard up ans ready for the normal upsaleto happen.......however, it never did. The doctor was incredibly knowledgeable and knew exactly what was wrong. He gave me exactly what was needed and nothing more. For the first time in a long time I left the vet with a smile on my face. I felt confident in their decision and their expertise. The front desk was smiling and happy. It was such a change of pace. I even think Bug (my little baby)secretly liked going there too! Thank you for taking care of Bug and I. You've earned our business forsure!!!!! We finally found a vet we can trust. Thank you Grand Paws!

Fantastic experience: Grand Paws Animal Clinic Surprise Az. Exceptional team, they are Compastionate, Loving and have gone the extra mile to insure my dog is well taken care of! Their knowledge and attention to the smallest detail is simply a blessing. They put up with my constant txt’s and calls and when they haven’t heard from me they check in. Simply put they love what they do and they do it very well! Dr. Pandov is over the top amazing and her team represents who she is and how much she cares and loves your pets in everything she does! Bella and I came in for a new patient visit, she listened intently to everything I said and acted on her concerns immediately! I spoke about all of Bella’s idiosyncrasies and how I dealt with them. She never made me feel like I should have done more. However as we continued our conversation we learned more about what could be causing them! She spent the time that was needed to understand Bella and helped me to understand what the next steps should be. It was allot more than I was expecting but I knew we were in good hands immediately! She recommended test that were needed, there was not a test done that didn’t lead us to the right diagnosis. Without her I would have continued to think I was doing everything that Bella needed. I believe without Dr. Pandov Bella’s life would have been cut much shorter and cost more! After 1 1/2 months she is on the road to recovery and getting better every day! Fantastic experience: We have been going here for over 2 years since our fur baby was a puppy. We got him neutered here as well as all his vaccines and medical checkup. It’s actually the best vet practice I have been too. The staff is so so amazing and love your fur babies. They always remember our sweet boy, Chips. We are always in in such a reasonable time and the prices are truly affordable. We trust the service and our boy loves the doctors here. It’s definitely hard to book an appointment as they go quick but never an issue to find a same day one. I recommend this place so much. The amount of care they have is remarkable. We love the vets and have done all of our services here. If you’re looking for a vet clinic and a go-to for your fur babies, I trust them the most. They truly love animals and love their job here.

Services were provided with me present, so my dogs were not traumatized - something we've experienced at other vet offices. We all walked out happy and healthy!

Negative experience: I’ve had pretty good experiences with this place for the most part with a couple of exceptions. My dog has gotten 3 entropion eye surgeries with no relief. At least the customer service was always good. She recently got her teeth cleaned and had some masses removed. Right after the surgery, she started spotting from her vulva. She is 7 years old and was spayed when she was 6 months old. When they text me to see how she was doing, they told me to let them know if it was still happening when I took her in for her suture removal. I took her in for her suture removal today and was told By Quinn at the front desk that she’s probably spotting because tissue is as left in from her spay 7 years ago and she just happened to coincidentally start bleeding right after her surgery. Then told me I would have to schedule an appointment to see the vet for her spotting. I informed that the vet had text me to let them know if it was still happening. So they agreed to see me but not on appointment. I ended up just having them remove the sutures and scheduled for my dog to be seen somewhere else. I work nights and don’t have all day to sit at the vet when I had an appointment. So I asked them to send my dog records to a new vet. The front officer manager, I can’t recall her name came out and told me they would have seen me, I just needed to be patient and respectful of their time. I explained that I had already told them and thought that if I needed an appointment , they would have scheduled when I told them that my dog was bleeding from her vagina. Manager gave me the fake polite shtick and said she was happy to send her records over and thanked me with her phony smile. I said an apology would be nice. She wasn’t interested. The vets are pretty nice and most of the ladies in there are sweet. Those 2 have poor customer services skills though. Also, follow ups aren’t free anymore. You have to pay for follow ups with the vet which they don’t tell you. I’m all for being understanding of businesses but I expect my time to be respected as well and I certainly don’t appreciate a receptionist trying to gaslight me and tell me my dog is suddenly bleeding after 7 years due to a botched spay. Not worth the long drive to be treated that way. Note: The office manager is Shannon. I couldn’t remember it but not surprisingly, others have been mistreated by her as well and I was able to find her name.

Fantastic experience: I used to come here a while ago, I was looking into stem cell therapy and PRP for my cat. Still a great place to take pets, I highly recommend. The waiting room feels like home, everyone was really nice. Love it! RIP Dr. Sink, you were the Dr that made me fall in love with Grand Paws.

Fantastic experience: Everyone at the front desk, dog assistant to the veterinarian all were very caring to Dirk and polite to us. People in the waiting room were also impressed by the compassion Grandpaws continually displays. We were convinced after our first visit that we were coming back to Grandpaws.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this animal clinic! I’ve consistently had wonderful experiences with both my dogs and cats. During my most recent visit, my new kitten had an accident in her carrier on the way to the appointment. The staff immediately stepped in when we arrived, taking my kitten to give her a quick bath and even cleaning out the carrier for me. Their kindness and willingness to go above and beyond is rare these days, and I truly appreciate it!

Fantastic experience: I visited this amazing place, which is a bit far from my house, but I really like it. The interior is cozy and doesn't feel like a typical clinic. We took my dog for his annual check-up and rabies vaccine here. I was able to get an appointment about a week after I called, and the prices were reasonable. I really appreciated how friendly and knowledgeable the veterinarian's assistant was. She was very helpful and answered all my questions. She mentioned that she was new to Arizona and had a southern accent, but I can't recall her name. She was also very kind to my dog and helped to keep him distracted so he wouldn't be scared of the vaccines. The veterinarian was also very nice and treated my dog with love and care. Additionally, there were plenty of parking spots.

Fantastic experience: My first visit today with my 15.5 yr old best friend and my ❤️.... she was diagnosed with heart disease 13 months ago. And needed to get her medicine filled. I'm out of work with a injury and fighting with everyone to get money owed to me. So it has put me in a bad spot with $$ rt now. Her vet wouldn't write her scripts until I came in and got charged $164 for a check up. I explained I couldn't do that and get her medicine still. I call here and to my surprise and grace of God I was treated too a free office visit and got her medicine. not to mention the office staff and vet were absolutely amazing .. I sad my best friend is sick and going to leave me soon. But I have great comfort knowing that I can go to a place that cares about me and my beautiful girl MOLLY. MY MUCH POOCH.. THE BEST LITTLE DOG ANYONE COULD PRAY TO HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH AS A CHILD, BEST FRIEND AND BEAUTIFUL SOUL... MISS MOLLY WILL BE MISSED. THANK YOU GUYS FOR CARING AND HELPING ME!!!!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Tryon is the best vet we've ever worked with. I cannot recommend him enough. He treats our dogs like they're his own. He is simply the best there is. We drive 30 minutes across the valley to meet with him.

Fantastic experience: My dog is only 6 1/2 years old, but he seems to have a high-value liver problems and another dental veterinarian practice passed on doing the surgery. It seemed like he was in pain and getting used to it so I definitely needed to do something about his upper back large tooth that had a slab fracture and the bottom was broken off where there was pulp showing. Dr. Tryon performed the surgery and had a plan. He said he would keep him on fluids throughout the whole entire day, so his liver would be flushed properly and relatively there would be no worries. Dr. Tryon was very confident in performing dental surgery on my dog. I was called by the doctor before the surgery and then I was called after the surgery by technician that everything went great, and my dog was a good boy. I did a lot of calling around to try to get the best price, but everyone is charging the same. Grand Paws had cancellations and asked if I could be there in a couple hours after I made the phone call. And then after the exam, Dr. Tryon said he had availability the day after the next. Except for price, it really worked out well, but as I said, everyone is charging the same, and apparently there are no more $300 dental surgeries for dogs. My dog is alive. He is doing well. He apparently will be in pain for 3 to 5 days. But he has pain meds and antibiotics so he’ll be just fine. I signed a DNR for him before the surgery, knowing his risks. Dr. Tryon said it was a good surgery And my dog is alive.

Fantastic experience: I am never the one to take the dogs to the vet. My boyfriend always does. Well, now I know why! This place is amazing! The staff are so friendly and helpful! When I walk in, they know exactly who I am and which pupper is mine! They all look like they enjoy their job immensely. Dr Tryon was just the best. He made us feel comfortable. I highly recommend bringing your pet to this vet clinic because they will be in very good hands.

Fantastic experience: The whole staff at this clinic really do care about your pets and their costs are reasonable. I researched all the veterinary clinics in the area for reviews and cost, they are the best clinic in the Surprise area. We had our 10 year cat in for a FHO surgery for his dislocated hip to relieve his hip pain and to give him another 10+ years of happiness. Dr. Johnson and us, discuss surgery options should we need to go to plan B. Thank goodness she did, turns out his leg could not be salvaged and we went to plan B for amputation. Dr. Johnson explained the xrays and gave us clear directions on how to help our cat recover. Today, my cat is one happy pain free cat on 3 legs and I have Dr. Johnson to thank for this. I highly recommend this clinic and their Veterinarians for their professional care and their reasonable cost. I am super happy with Grand Paws over the last 3 years!! Update! We just put down our 2 elderly cats and I am so impressed with this staff and doctors over the last 8 years with their medical advice. No regrets. They are the best veterinary clinic in Arizona and reasonable prices. Thank you Grand Paws!

Fantastic experience: Grand Paws is a wonderful clinic for our fur babies. Everyone is so very nice and patient with our two large standard poodles. The office is very clean and efficient and the veterinarians are excellent in that they are kind with the pets and thoroughly explain the pets condition. Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Grand Paws for years now after a bad experience with another vet. Everyone at GrandPaws has always been so kind. I’ll never forget the time my Buddy has his first dental cleaning and when I walked into the office to pick him up, one of the girls there was holding my Buddy like a baby in her arms and walking around with him. He was sad and they took such good care of him. They were always there for my Daisy and I will never forget the card I got in the mail after she passed. Handwritten notes from everyone in the office. Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend this place enough. My rescue dog is reactive (and really dramatic/vocal) and they ALWAYS handle him with so much care, but still understanding his space boundaries and overall triggers. They are so accommodating for his needs and you can really tell they care so much about your fur baby. The staff is so kind and understanding and I always feel that I get the best care possible. They were able to wiggle me in even on full days because my dog was in need of an emergency appointment. Fantastic experience: Welcoming, friendly and competent! This is the first Vet office I’ve been to that felt like visiting a friends house; the waiting area feels like a living room, and everyone was very friendly. The front office staff are friendly and welcoming. The vet assistants and Vet all seemed warm, friendly and very competent. I worked with Dr. Long, and was very happy I did. She took the time to understand and diagnose my cats chronic condition, and consequently has provided the first positive response to treatment I’ve seen for years. I was quite depressed previously, as I’ve been to 3 different Vet’s, and have not had any luck. I am so thankful I found this place! I heartily recommend it.
