So is Dr. Hendrickson, our favorite vet! And Kelly makes Claude looks so handsome after grooming and a recent vaccination time went fast and was no problem for him. Good job, St. Joe Vet team!!

Experiencia negativa: Worse customer service I have ever received!! Trying to order a medication from the online site I was forced to use as I was told I can't use Chewy any more. Had multiple conversations with their front desk person trying to figure out the dosage to order, Dr. Hendrickson kept changing my online order, forcing multiple pending charges on my credit card. Kept calling them back asking them not to switch my orders to caps because the prescription is for splitting the dose in half and I can't split a capsule; it didn't matter - they switched it and one of the orders got shipped. Everytime I called and asked to speak with the vet I was told she is busy and may take a few days for a call back that I never got! Never had a vet like, never heard of one like it either! When I told the lady on the phone that I am about to leave a negative review - she said "Go ahead! That your problem"!!

Experiencia fantástica: My dog was placed in a room promptly, and the vet assistant took all the information. I told her what was wrong and she relayed the information I told her. They take the dog to the back room, while I waited in the exam room. The vet did all the necessary procedures and then they brought the dog back to me. Then the vet came in and told me the results from the exam that she did. Overall was pleased with their service.

Experiencia fantástica: My cat had been with this vet for most of her life. They worked so hard to keep her comfortable and live the healthiest, pain-free life as possible. Unfortunately, she was 17 and her kidneys started to fail. The staff were so kind and comforting. The treats they provided my cat at her end of life appointment made her last moments positive ones. I recommend this practice to anyone who wants providers who care, who try to find ways to prolong health,and are supportive and caring at the very end.

He spent the day there and I received a very good report on what his xray showed and options for his care. I have been taking my pets to them for about a year (4 cats an 2 dogs) and they always receive excellent care!

My old girl kitty recently started losing weight and Dr. Hendrickson got her right in for lab work. When they didn’t show anything she contacted me with a plan to do additional tests to see if we could find out what is wrong with her. She listened to my concerns, explained her thought process and where we needed to go next. She is the best vet my cats have seen and I am grateful for St. Joe’s every time my kitties need help

I'd enjoyed the expertise of Dr. Kitsen with one of my cats, she helped him tremendously. I then had the displeasure of one of the other veterinarians who had an attitude and was dismissive. To my delight, I've found a different veterinarian in the Fort Wayne area, who listens to my concerns without being dismissive and is much more affordable.

Experiencia fantástica: Update August 2024: we have 5 cats now, and we’ve had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Kowlowitz-Taylor too. 3 of our cats needed dentals over the last couple of months, and the process was so easy. My cats were very well looked after for their procedures. When I picked them up from their surgeries, they were much more relaxed and at ease compared to when I have left my cats at other vet offices in the past for similar procedures. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Jill and the rest of the team at this office! We have 3 kitties, and we always feel like they receive the best care here!

Experiencia negativa: Took cat to get wellness check. Seemed like all they wanted to do was sell me the paws plan for $700. Felt like i was sitting in finance office of car dealership selling warranties. They did tell me she didn’t have ear mites but wanted me to bring her back when i could drug her so she wasnt afraid. Geez of course she was scared because they took her out of the exam room where i was. But they did charge me $85 for the privilege. It also seemed like vet was a bit condescending.

I’m a first-time dog owner, so I tend to call the vet for every little thing to ensure I’m taking the best care possible of my pup. All of the staff have been nothing short of amazing!! They always put my mind at ease and are able to recommend practical, effective treatment plans. I was also impressed when I received phone calls from our doctor herself… a couple times after hours. The staff truly cares about the pets they treat. I’m so incredibly thankful for the guidance and support from St. Joe vet hospital. We also LOVE the grooming services offered!!!! My dog loves her groomer. She spends so much time with my dog and makes sure she looks perfect. She puts in so much extra effort and time in building a relationship with my dog as well as working with my dog’s special medical needs. We were very satisfied with the dental services provided, too. I know my dog is in good hands for any procedure or service at St. Joe!!!!

Experiencia negativa: Took my dogs for an exam and to get caught up on shots. They told me that I needed to bring them back in a month to do the last shot and we can talk about progress on the issues that were discussed during the exam. A month later, they get the last shot and we talk about the issues, but I get charged another $67 exam fee after paying for the exam a month prior. Ridiculous.

They are very feline oriented and it's such a breath of fresh air to find people who are feline specialists for those who need it. I've worked with both Dr. Kitson and Dr. KT and they have gone above and beyond for me every single time, so much as making appointments for me or setting aside extra time to discuss concerns. I had a kitty recently pass and I could not imagine another office managing her care. They gave her the best support, options and did everything they could to help, so far as even trying new methods and medications to keep up on the forefront of feline medicine. While giving you all the best options and care, they remain kind and thorough and could not be a better veterinary office. They also still manage my other chronically ill kitties and continue to find us new ideas or present care courses that are within your budget when options are available. If you have a feline in need of complex care, or are just looking for a compassionate office, look no further than this vet!

Experiencia positiva: We called last week to see if there was any available appointments because our dog has anal sac disease and his anal fistula was infected so he couldn't poop. We went in and they gave us cream and meds to which we were truly grateful for the last minute appointment. I am sure no vet loves to deal with any animals anal issues. Five stars, thank you. The kicker is we asked if we needed to show up to our regularly scheduled appointment next week (today) as we just took him in last week and they said yes, still show up so we can examine his infection to make sure it is healing properly. Also, he is shaking and scared when he comes into the office so here is some trazodone to calm him down for his next visit. (Maybe he wouldn't shake so much if you let the owner into the exam room, just a thought). So today, I woke up to give our dog trazodone before his regularly scheduled appointment. When we arrive, they stated that they had cancelled our dog's appointment on their own terms since we were just in there last week, without notifying us. I seriously drugged our dog for no reason. We asked if we can still be seen just to follow-up with the infection on his rear to make sure it is healing properly. They stated that the veterinarian was on vacation so no one could see him which seems to be a reoccurring theme. Every time he has an appointment, a vet tech examines him, not a vet and when we do request one, the vet is always unavailable or on vacation. So of course, we get home and his anal gland is irritated and he is having trouble pooping again... back to square one.

Experiencia negativa: Doc Kitson is great! she knows what shes talking about and saved my cat. She is the only reason i am giving any stars. I am mad because my first time there i wasn't told to wait in my car and call. when i tired to walk in the lady that got to the door was very rude with me and i tired telling her no one told me to call when i got there. The 2nd time i had an appt i called and waited what seemed forever cause it went past my appt time before someone came out and got me from the parking lot. Another main reason i am not happy is my cat has to take meds to soften his stool for the rest of his life and i need a refill. I call and the guy at the front desk answer who tells me if i dont know the name of the meds they cant refill it. I DO NOT HAVE THE BOTTLE IN FRONT OF ME AND i have a lot of different meds for my cats i have to try and remember. Then tells me its going to cost over $40 to ship to me. SO i go to the webiste when i sign up for but no scripts are there ( i already knew that) i called customer service which was no help because nothing is in the system to refill (again like i knew) so i call the vet again and got the guy again so i ask to talk to someone else. the lady tired to say the same thing but i told her if they dont refill it i will drive up there to talk to the doc and let her know that his being refused the meds he needs for the rest of his life that Doc Kitson prescribed to him. How is there no refill if the doc told me he has to take it for the rest of his life! AND ON top it all, i have to drive over an hour and a half to get the meds so all together 3 hours because of the system not being set up.

Experiencia fantástica: I love this vet office, specifically Dr. Kitson. I feel listened to and supported every time I visit and she has gone above and beyond for my cat, Opa. She cares so much about her pet patients and their accompanying humans. We also love the cat/dog only entrances so my girls (cats) aren’t rattled by animals they haven’t encountered before. Highly recommend!

Experiencia negativa: Not what it once was. We loved this place for a few years but it's changed dramatically. They seem more feline oriented. Our last appointment was terrible. Firstly it was rescheduled 3 times by the office. Not a single person there failed to be rude to my wife while she was there. They don't even do the exam with you in the room. How am I supposed to know you even did anything then? The biggest issue was they wanted to give our dog shots he didn't even need yet. I certainly wouldn't recommend this vet to anyone.

Experiencia fantástica: Update August 30, 2023 I met Dr Jill when I was 12yo. I am 16yo now. My body hurt all the time because of being hit by a car when I was a baby, like 6-8 weeks old, they tell me. Some lady that I did not know scooped me up, put me in her hat and took me to a doctor. It was scary there and smelled funny. Now one of my front legs is not the same and mom calls it my “hooky paw.” She even sings me a song about it. It hurts. Well, everything hurt. Then Dr Jill started giving me a special medicine every month for my arthritis. Mom says that started over a year ago and Dr Jill calls it Solensia or something like that. Then this year, Dr Jill started putting needles all over me. They don’t know this, but I hear them talking about it. Acupuncture. These needles don’t hurt though, like some of the other needles. I feel sleepy afterwards and mom lays with me and rubs my belly when we get home. Probably because I am such a good girl. My fur is growing back, my tummy feels better and my pain is way better. Mom laughs when I run around the house like when I was little. I don’t use my steps all the time. Sometimes I just jump up on to the couch or bed. Mom says it has been 7 years since I did that. Dr Jill is a specialist for cats and I believe it because I am feeling the best that I have felt in years. Going to see Dr Jill is easier for me than other doctors I have seen. She is very gentle with me and talks nice. If you want to see Dr Jill so you can feel better too, just tell her that Karma sent you. Mom’s review awhile back: Karma, my cat, is ALWAYS treated with respect and treated carefully to make an anxious experience less scary for her. At 13yo, Karma has had negative experiences with other vets, before we met Dr Jill a couple of years ago. It was always the same terrifying experience for Karma to visit the vet until we met Dr Jill. Dr Jill is obviously an expert on cats (feline diplomat) and it shows in how she handles Karma. Not only is she the most knowledgeable on felines of any vet I have met in my 60 years, she has great compassion for Karma. It is a wonderful feeling to find a vet that truly cares about Karma. Last visit ended with Karma relaxed, eyes closed and falling asleep on the table after an exam, blood draw and a shot. That’s is the best review any vet could receive from Karma and if my cat likes you, I like you. P.S. My experience with dealing with any business; the employees/staff share the same behavior/attitude as the owner/manager. If the owner has a bad attitude, that bad attitude filters down through all the staff. As expected, Dr Jill’s staff are like her....respectful, compassionate and knowledgeable. my only regret is that we had not found Dr Jill when Karma was a kitten.

Dr. Hendrickson sees both my cats and my dogs and is as knowledgeable and caring as they come. She also cleans my animals teeth and does a remarkable job. They come out of surgery good as new and she doesn't release them unless they are alert and ready to go home. St. Joe has been my vet for over a decade and all of the Drs are simply fantastic. Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Kitson is the best! We took our very sick 14 yr old cat to her, knowing she was close to the end with something another vet had missed. Dr. Kitson thoroughly examined her, told us her prognosis, gave us a treatment plan and meds, and our little girl is still with us, 5 months later. Dr. Kitson cares deeply about cats and does everything she can to help them have happy and healthy lives. We are so grateful to her and the whole staff. Thank you!

St Joe can’t do the surgery he needs, but has been so helpful in taking time to call me back to answer various questions I’ve had through the process of weighing two different surgeries. Experiencia negativa: Longest wait time I have ever experienced. No one comes into to talk to you- made to wait in a cold room without pet for numerous hours. Sad that this is the only available place to take your pet- ridiculously priced but what can ya do?!?
