Experiencia fantástica: We took our 13 year old girl to Animal Hospital of Lubbock. Front desk staff was very friendly. We were seen by Delta and Dr. Richards. Both were great at explaining options to us. They took their time and didn't rush through the exam. We left feeling we had made the right choice to get a second opinion on our girl's previous CHF diagnosis. Would highly recommend this place for your furry family.
Experiencia fantástica: This probably won't show up on the top cuz I'm having to edit one of my old reviews .. But I'm here to give Daria a giant shout, she's like a Pitbull Whisperer! Since my last review I don't know maybe a year ago I have acquired a new pitbull puppy, and when they're puppies they can be fussy and growly, but Daria shows up with confidence and it's funny to see how she just takes over your pet and gets stuff done!! My pets love going for their checkups and shots... the staff are always very concerned about my pets.. always very well taken care of!!! We love you guys..

Experiencia fantástica: I've been researching for a good veterinarian and I decided to give this place a try, let's just say that was the best choice I made.My fur baby has horrible allergies she was prescribed medication, and I was able to see the difference right away.So thank you very much for getting her feeling well again.

Experiencia fantástica: On 10/7/25 we had to put down our 12 yr old family baby. She unfortunately/fortunately passed early that morning. I kept the appointment for obvious reasons. I had a rough night and day. I drove to the old location, was late and a mess. By the time we got there and while on the phone, they were calm, respectful, and patient. The original cost I was quoted was $176 which was to have her put down and for a paw print ect we were only charged $20. This is the only place I recommend to anybody who is looking for a vet. I have never had any issues and have always been treated with respect. My family and pets. The only thing that did not help and upset me was when I called to try and get her in so she would not suffer anymore, was being told basically to make an appointment for the next day. They are good ppl who treat everybody with respect that's animals included.

Experiencia fantástica: Very nice people, friendly and truly care for your 4 legged furbaby. Our Moby, a GS mixed lab was injured when he was about 4 months old. He pinched one of his front toes from opening the door. They thoroughly took care of him. All his vaccines were also done at this place.

Experiencia negativa: Don't expect to be able to be seen if you come in after 5. They close at 6 so what's the point? Seems to be a common theme of vet clinics in lubbock. Do not recommend.

Experiencia negativa: I’ve used this place for three years but no longer will! I came in for an appointment (which I called about before on the price) at 8am. Took me an hour for my dog to get three shots. No one seemed phased by how slow things were. I ended up getting charged almost double for my appointment but supposedly I had an outstanding balance for missing two appointments (but when I called no one mentioned that. I had also never been told that was a thing) I also got charged a late fee (more than 15 minutes) and I wasn’t 15 minutes late. I called immediately after and gave someone my card information and was told I’d get a refund. It’s been a WEEK! I checked in Monday and supposedly the manager wasn’t around to give me the refund. So I come back two days later. Once again gave someone my card information (having to give it twice is ODD) and then was told it would happen. I asked when since it had already been a week and they said they didn’t know. If a business can’t put a need of someone to attention (when also processing a refund doesn’t take that long) I’m out. Not to mention giving someone your card number twice shouldn’t be a thing. I still haven’t received a refund.

Experiencia fantástica: UPDATE 11/18/2024: New location is nice and a lot bigger. Dr. Johnson and Becky and the entire staff are always so caring for Shadow. They make sure we understand everything and they listen to all our questions and concerns. UPDATE: We took our fur baby Shadow in for her 6 month senior well exam and Dr. Johnson was absolutely wonderful. She took the time to explain the bloodwork and answer any questions that we had. You can tell she truly enjoys animals and what she does. They are the best. The doctors, techs and front desk staff are awesome! I had to take our Shadow in yesterday for an infection and we met the new vet, Dr. Johnson. I absolutely love her. All of the doctors are great and Dr. Johnson is no exception. Tech Lauren was great as well.

Experiencia fantástica: This was our first visit and it was amazing! The staff made sure to take their time with my dog and make him feel as comfortable as possible. I also loved how much interest they took in him and how he did at home, around other dogs/people, and his temperament. They also made sure to explain everything to me very thoroughly and didn’t pressure me to choose any unnecessary treatments. I truly appreciate the time and care they took to make sure we got the best service possible. We will definitely be making Animal Hospital of Lubbock our primary vet!!

Experiencia negativa: Not so great experience trying to find care. Called on friday to setup appointment and was told to call the next week because they are moving. Called today and was told they weren't accepting patients. Poor communication and wasted my time.

Experiencia fantástica: Animal Hospital of Lubbock has been exemplary. Dr. Johnson and the staff has helped me navigate complicated health issues from heart disease to severe allergies for my animals. Not once have I felt pressured to engage in a treatment that I didn't understand the purpose and how it would address the problems. I also tend to like to know what the next step is if the current treatment doesn't work and Dr. Johnson has always been able to discuss multiple paths forward.

Experiencia negativa: We are actually changing Vets because of our last two visits to Animal Hospital. Unprofessional and very rude demeanor that is driven by the corporate culture that has taken this clinic over. It was not this way when Dr. Jones was at this location. The nickel and dime approach, just cost them thousands in the long run. Six animals, no more!!

Experiencia fantástica: Everyone was outstanding! The staff did an amazing job with the nail trim in my Bassett Baby Nala. Also, Dr. Spears was fantastic with my baby Rosie. We’ll definitely be using the Animal Hospital if Lubbock for all 4 of our girls!

Experiencia positiva: We rescued a little chihuahua mix and brought her to LHA for a chip scan and vaccines. We made at appt for a week later as it wss late in the day. The front office staff and techs were really wonderful to work with. Dr. Richards though was not very personable. The exam was cursory and I was chastised for "not holding my dog so that she learns to like it." She's a three to four month old puppy we have known for 7 days who wanted to get down and explore, not visit with a man who didnt spend a few minutes introducing himself to her. After he left the room, she settled in to my arms and didn't move while we waited. I hear that Dr. Johnson is very good though. They are moving locations in October. Good luck with the move!

Experiencia fantástica: Took my kitty here for day boarding while my apartment was getting work done. They were very caring and were eager to help without pushing added expenses. I really Appreciate that they let me go back there and get her out of her boarding house when they saw she was uncomfortable. Definitely recommend. Will be taking her there again.

Experiencia positiva: When I called to book an appointment I didn’t have a positive response from the person that answered the phone. She told me I had to have a heartworm test in order to get heart guard pills. She kept bickering with me because I kept telling her that we’ve never been forced to get one in all the years my fur babies have gone there. She got huffy with me & just hung up on me. I did keep the application & I was dreading getting there & dealing with her. She was the only one up front so I knew that’s who I dealt with over the phone. She was nicer in person so no issues there. The wait was way longer than I have ever waited but they kept apologizing for the delay. When we finally got to see Dr Johnson I quickly changed my mind about the delay…she was so wonderful & explained the reason for the delay & the need foe the test. I realize that it is just growing pains in the practice with all the changes they’re going through..We just have to be patient & give them a chance to settle in & get everything worked out..

Was my first time taking my own dog to a vet, they were patient and understanding of my concerns and what steps we needed to be taking. Really made me and my pup feel comfortable! Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Johnson is the best. She's caring and knowledgeable. She took care of my pups and explain things in a way I can easily understand (even when I am concerned over nothing). My dog is a senior now so I appreciate the care given to her to help ease her vet anxiety and make her life as healthy as possible. Everyone was so nice and professional. The entire team is top-notch. The facility is spotless. The staff was so polite and kind.

Experiencia negativa: Saturday May 11, 2024 10:40 am. I feel like the service is completely gone downhill since the retirement of Dr.Jones. I kept attempting to call today to make an appointment for one of my dogs who has been coming here for over 11 years but every time the phone rang it was put on hold WITHOUT anyone answering and asking me to hold. This has happened before. I drove to the office and called when I approached the front desk and saw Lauren reach over to phone and push a button sending me to hold without answering. When I explained that it was me calling and I just saw what she did she got defensive and said she was the only one there. I advised at least answering and asking people to hold. She then asked how she was supposed to do that if she was in the back doing anesthesia. I reminded her that I just saw her do it to my call when she was in front of me. Her excuse this time was, “I was taking to you!” And yes, this was said with a head bob and a bad attitude. I told her I would love to speak with one of the Dr’s and her response with a raised voice was that they were all busy. Again, a raised voice. I was extremely courteous, never raised my voice and her attitude stinks. Seems like she was upset because she is working alone. She needs help up at the front and she needs training in customer service or she needs to find another job not working with the public. A sorry experience for a loyal client of over 20 years who has taken all of my pets here and even had one put down here. Lauren has absolutely no business working in customer service. I had to PRY information from her as far as managers name and who owned the practice. I did not even receive an apology from her. From the start I received eye rolling and attitude and every time she wrote information on a sticky note she kind of smacked that sticky note down in front of me. It was like talking to a child with a bad attitude. Do better Lauren and Animal Hospital of Lubbock.

Experiencia fantástica: Animal Hospital of Lubbock is the absolute BEST animal & pet care in Lubbock, hands down! My parents used them, and now we take all of our furbabies there - love them! We recently had a puppy adoption from a small town, and the poor baby was in pretty bad shape. They got us in same day, and they took such good care in checking all the boxes and making sure he was going to be okay! The vet tech was amazing, and engaged in the concern and care for our pup’s health. We’re on day 2 of treatments sent home with us, and Socks is already doing so much better! 10/10 recommend.

Experiencia negativa: Took two poodles this morning to see if they have microchip. Found these poodles running around the busy street, while one of them almost got hit by a car. The dogs were matted, dirty and hungry. The hosp manager called the owner. I could hear Joe “the apparent owners of these dogs” not seem very excited that there dogs were found. He said “ ooo yeah my dogs, we’re out of town now, I’ll have a friend pick them up!!” The lady knew I felt uncomfortable and I talked to her about them being out of town and wondering about the situation these dogs were in. She didn’t seem bothered that the owners didn’t care about the dogs. She just had someone snatch up the dogs from me. She didn’t get my number or even care to ask anything about the dogs. As a vet tech who was hired here for my first job five years ago IM DISAPPOINTED at her attitude and being this dogs advocate. The hosp manger made it seem like I was judging these dogs and how dirty are but in reality i was stunned by her judgment to take the dogs so swiftly and not ask me questions or the “owner” questions. Shame on y’all. Not only did these dogs go missing the same time last year (saw on the owners Facebook, the owner didn’t even message/call about dogs after knowing I had them) makes me think that these dogs were left outside with no dog sitter for spring break. I wouldn’t trust these people. I made a mistake taking these dogs here and should of went to another clinic who would actually care about the condition of the dogs. Comparing your dogs as just as dirty in West Texas does NOT comfort me. Being a vet tech myself it’s OUR job to be these dogs advocate. Those dogs deserve better, I hope y’all find a vet that ask questions and cares about your pets…… UPDATE THE POODLES are out AGAIN. Horrible owners. Again more questions should have been asked. Knew these were negligent owners.

Experiencia fantástica: My puppy Besty unfortunately caught Parvo. I was able to get her in for treatment right away! When I dropped her off, I thought she wasn’t going to make it, but three days later with prayers and the expertise of Animal Hospital of Lubbock she survived! Thriving better than ever ❤️ The staff assisting us were very friendly, and informative throughout the entire process. (A little pricey, which I heard this hospital is but they did not hesitate to schedule a same day appointment) Very grateful for Animal Hospital of Lubbock’s staff. Recommend 10/10!

Experiencia positiva: Animal Hospital takes great care of our sick pets! But when it comes to bad news, like when we've had to say goodbye to our pets, they really need to work on the human support for this event. I've had a vet be absolutely horrid when it came time to put our old kitty down. And recently an office staff member talk to us in a cheerful manner than just didn't feel good because I had just had to make a life and death decision for a living creature. We take all our pets there! The staff is so friendly. But this has happened a couple times now and is something that could use improvement.

Experiencia negativa: I do love coming here but last time I went for a check up on my cat, it was such a long wait. There was no one else in there, I got there at 11:00 and they took me too a room by 11:10 and vet tech came in at 11:15 to check his weight and said the doctor would be in shortly to give him his shot and I could pay and then go! I waited until 12:00 and the doctor FINALLY came in. I feel like they forgot about me and then finally remembered. I totally understand if they were busy, but when I went in at 11:00 , I was the only person there.I could also hear on both sides that people were just having conversations, which is completely fine, but I was getting upset at the same time for how long I was having to wait. I don’t typically make bad reviews but there’s no reason I should’ve had to wait almost an hour for a single shot that is probably already ready in the back.

Experiencia fantástica: I would like to start by saying my experience will not be the same for everyone but this is how my experience here was. We Originally went in for a check up and vaccinations for my three dogs. They were so so kind to my husband and I and also my dogs of course. We mentioned some serious concerns about our very old chunky rottie and after some X-rays we discovered some very very heartbreaking news. Things werent looking at all good for him (to put it lightly) that we felt the most humane and graceful way was to allow him to comfortably pass rather than prolong his suffering for a minute longer. They were beyond patient with us after the news settled in. And allowed us time to give him his last meal, say our long goodbyes and cry. I wasn’t able to get any words out while he was ‘falling into a deep sleep’ but one of the ladies talked him through it, petting him to the very end with us which meant so so so much to me. After everything was said and done they made the process as smooth as possible for us as far as getting his remains taken care of and we now have him here with us in a beautiful urn. My other two dogs are happy and healthy and were so comfortable during their time there and despite the sad situation I would absolutely trust these kind souls with my dogs forever and would recommend this place to anyone. Thank you so much. RIP my sweet baby

Experiencia fantástica: The staff are very friendly and compassionate. I brought my sick cat in and even though we were a walk in appointment, they still saw him pretty quickly. After checking him out and getting some meds, we were on our way. I am happy to say that while he still isn't back to his old self right way, due to the direction from the staff and the meds prescribed, he has started moving around more and finally ate something small. He is a cat they've never seen before, but from what I saw, they treated him like he was their own cat. Now, if only doctors could treat us the same way during hospital visits... This was our first visit to a veterinarian since he was adopted and they have secured themselves as the place we will go to for any future visits. Thank you!

Experiencia fantástica: It was easy to get my dog an appointment, so the experience was great from the beginning. Everyone is extremely friendly. My dog is scared of vet offices, but the vet tech immediately made her calm and in no time she was wagging her tail. I was SO happy to see her relax! The vet came in and was so kind, patient, and ensured we understood everything clearly. She figured out what was wrong with Minnie almost immediately when another well established vet couldn't. She gave us several options and left the treatment decisions to us. Minnie loved her too! We were so thankful for the treatment at this clinic and although we do not live in Lubbock I will be bringing my dog here from this point on. :)

Experiencia fantástica: I brough my older cat Angel in recently. She was in bad shape not eating bumping into things very listless. Turns out she was dehydrated and had high blood pressure. Dr Richards and his team did a wonderful job tsking care of Angel! She is home again and although she has lost some of her eyesight she is adapting. I am eternally grsteful to them! I wasn't sure i would be able to tske her home agsin. Thank you!

Experiencia fantástica: Took two of my cats in for annuals. One is EXTREMELY nervous and always has accidents. Usually will happen on car ride home. Not this time! In the waiting room. It was everywhere. Dr. Richards and the Tech were so nice and business as usual about it. Then! The Tech took her back and totally washed her clean! She has long, fluffy hair. I was so thankful to both of them and appreciated their response. When we got back, Lovey was just fine! Thank you!!

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been going to this clinic for 7 years. I started out at a different vet clinic being new to Lubbock and came to see Dr Richards for a second opinion. He treated my German shepherd for those past 7 years and was recently there to help me say goodbye to her. I have had the BEST experience here. I have had many health issues with my pets and although I’m sure I have driven them crazy with all my calls, they answer my questions and/or schedule me to get in to see Dr Richards if they can. Dr Richards is a very very intelligent vet and saved my German shepherds life those 7 years ago. She wouldn’t have made it this long without his proper diagnosis and skill set. I really appreciate his straight to the point personality. He gives you room to talk, thinks before he responds and gives you his most honest opinion. It has always helped me make decisions in caring for my babies. I have the most sincere appreciation for this clinic, and staff ; Dr Richards, Delta, Lauren, Jaelyn Debbie and anyone else that has ever helped me! At my final appointment with my GSD, I was so thankful for Dr Richards and Delta making such a painful situation the most peaceful one for one of my precious companions who deserved nothing less. I will continue to come here with my other pets because I wouldn’t trust anyone else!

Experiencia negativa: If you love your pet like I did mine stay as far away from this place as possible! My dachshund was transferred there about a month ago with possible fluid in her heart and lungs. Dr Richard’s said the X-rays weren’t any good and sent her on her way. We made a follow up for 10/12. He did more X-rays and said yeah there’s fluid but I can’t tell where. He gave her some lasix and again sent her on her way. Less than 24 hours later she died. Being a vet you would think he would have gotten to the bottom of what was causing the fluid. I was going to make another appointment with a different vet and didn’t get the chance to. DO NOT TRUST YOUR PETS WITH “DR” RICHARDS!

Experiencia negativa: I have been going here for over 12 years with my rabbit and more recently, my dog. Dr. Carrouthers was our go to vet and we absolutely loved her precise, thorough work, and warm caring nature. Unfortunately she retired last year. I have continued to bring my golden here for boosters and have always had a quick, pleasant experience with the techs and the fabulous ladies at the front. Unfortunately this week my dog got sick which warranted a vet visit. This was my first interaction with our “new vet” Dr. Richards, and we were less than satisfied. The cost for treatment (nearly $500) which warranted no answers or relief combined with the vets seemingly “annoyed” demeanor has unfortunately prompted me to switch vets. I felt nervous to ask questions and he just did not feel like a warm caring vet compared to what we were used to with Dr. C. I felt like he was reactive to my dog’s symptoms versus progressive, and we are back at a new vet because his symptoms have worsened. I’m sad to have to leave what was once our warm, familiar, and nurturing place, but I need a vet who will be thorough and love on my dog like I do. Disappointed.

Experiencia negativa: First off all, the ladies in the front and the techs were very nice and very professional. Our dog went in but unfortunately didn't come home. The vet we saw, in my opinion, was very condescending and showed no empathy or compassion about our situation. He almost seemed annoyed at my questions and after spending almost $900, we dont know how our dog died or if our other dogs are at risk. I especially did not like his demeanor in front of my 2 small children. And I know this isn't all in my head because my son asked me, "why the doctor was so mad", after we left. I will not be back. I had always heard great things about this place but apparently the 2 vets who were admired and revered in our community that worked there retired earlier this summer. The other vets are probably just fine but I didn't like my experience with the one we dealt with. It's not even about the money but we were charged a lot and got zero answers. I honestly felt like he was looking to blame us for her condition. His tone and demeanor suggested that anyway. Hopefully other people have better luck here. I just hope he doesn't act like that to other families when their pets are hurting and the family is too.

Experiencia negativa: We took our family pet in after multiple seizures.Not only was the staff inconsiderate they showed absolute ZERO compassion. We ended up having to euthanize him, and the staff was disrespectful not only to us but our pet. We asked for his belongings to be cremated with him, and they were not. When we went to pick up his belongings, they brought it out in a trash bag.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been using Animal Hospital of Lubbock for years now. They really care about your pets and are good with my boy Milo who is a bit scared and aggressive with them. My girl Greta loves Dr. Richards. Last year she had to stay at the hospital for an obstruction and he was great calling with details each day on how she was doing. Couldn’t recommend them and their staff enough.

Experiencia positiva: We brought our dog there for a semi-emergency and they got us in very quickly. The Vet was very nice, but the prices are astronomically high! As I told the gal at the front, checking us out, their prices were much higher than the prices of our Vet in Upstate NY! Our total for ONE dog and NO test run, was $350! That's crazy! For emergencies, I think that this is the place to go, but if you're trying to save money, look elsewhere.

Experiencia fantástica: Have been going to Dr. Jones since 1990. He is a knowledgeable, kind and gentle soul who has loved all my dogs and me throughout the years. From the exhilaration of new puppies to the final goodbye he has been steadfast in his loving concern for my animals and for me. This is the only place I have taken my animals and I will never go anywhere else. The staff is wonderful and easy to work with for any needs. I highly recommend them.

Experiencia fantástica: I took my daughters sick dog here. The staff was great. (Very caring and supportive). They gave us time to make decisions on how we wanted to proceed with the care of the dog. We decided to go with medication to prolong the dog's life. The dog is doing better. We really appreciate everything they did. I highly recommend this place.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give 0 stars I would. The fist visit I had here was not horrible, I was taking my puppy in for shots and I was in and out pretty quickly. I then made an appointment to have him fixed. They told me he would need his staples out in two weeks. I specifically asked if I should make an appointment for this and was told no just come in and they would remove them. I waited over two hours before I asked if I should just come back at another time. They finally took him back and it took no more than 5 mins to remove them. My third, and final visit to this office, I took my dog in as she seemed to be running a fever and had an upset stomach I was told it would be about an hour wait which is understandable being a walk-in. I arrived at 7:45 and watch other walk ins arrive after me get taken back. The front staff were putting people on hold to finish their conversations that had nothing to do with the office. Then at around 10 am I was finally told I should just make an appointment and come back. The front office staff then proceeded to tell me they did not say it would be about an hour. Needless to say I will not be taking my dogs back to this office. Could have driven 30 miles to my regular vet, had my dog seen, and been back home in the amount of time I sat waiting in this office. Front staff is very unprofessional.

Experiencia positiva: I called ahead before the start time of my appointment for my pup to let them know I was running a couple minutes behind. My appointment was at 5 and I arrived at 5:02. After filling out new patient paperwork for my pup, I waited for 1 hour before they called me to a room. They were busy, and I understand that. But if you are going to be that busy, maybe lighten the load of appointments you accept so there is not such long wait times for owners and their pets. The front desk ladies, as well as the vet techs, were very nice and thorough. The veterinarian was a little on the “colder” side I would say. Just came off as standoffish and not very bubbly with me or my pet. Not saying every person must be bubbly, but when you work in a service industry, that comes as part of the job.
Haylee, we know your time is valuable and can assure you we make every effort to see clients in a timely manner. As a walk-in clinic we cannot always predict the wait-time. Emergency cases also take priority at times and do cause inevitable delays. We always try to communicate our wait times to the best of our ability. We appreciate you taking the time to reach out and are always open to feedback and suggestions.
Experiencia fantástica: We recently adopted a cat and he all of the sudden started vomiting and he stopped eating after a week of having him. The vet we usually use for our dog couldn't fit him in but Animal Hospital of Lubbock got us in right away. They performed an abdominal x-ray which was 139 dollars which from my understanding that price is lower than what they usually cost. Nothing was wrong with that scan thank goodness but they did prescribe quite a few medications. They filled all of the medications before we left. Everything was reasonably priced, and everybody was super friendly.

Experiencia fantástica: Took my 8.5 year old great dane there yesterday. The staff and Dr. Jones were so nice and sweet. Very detailed in explaining what might be wrong. One staff personwas so sweet to help us get our dog out of the suv! (130# not easy to move!) I went to this clinic over 10 years ago and got excellent service! Proud to say they are still providing except service. They even asked me to update them on her progress!

Experiencia negativa: This is our second experience here our first one was Grace the latter of the two wasn’t as good our puppy in four stitches ended up waiting in the lobby for three hours and said it was closing time and then was notified would have to leave the dog overnight which is very expensive just to get stitches we decided to take the pup home instead and was directed to come back at 7:45 the following morning. So this morning we show up with our pup and where is direct to leave the dog and it would need to be sedated for stitches which is expensive as well when they did not sedate our other dog for stitches just didn’t make very much sense but I’m not of vet. So what I was thinking it was going to be a $200 visit ended up being triple the cost which is a lot of money for a couple of stitches. Pup insurance?

Experiencia fantástica: The vets and the staff at the Animal Hospital of Lubbock are just wonderful. They clearly understand the deep connection between pet owners and their pets. I can honestly say that the Animal Hospital of Lubbock is the best pet clinic I've ever done business with.

Experiencia fantástica: They have done an awesome job with my GSD. They fixed him up when he had a stomach issue and his neutering surgery went well! I am from OH so having a great vet away from home is awesome knowing I have the right care for my boy as I travel back and forth.

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent intake by front desk staff. They were helpful, polite, personable. Vet tech well skilled, vet assessment excellent. Vet skilled treatment of pet excellent. Visit focused on pet needs, owner goals accomplished. Couldn’t be happier with pet care & will return. Vet Tech was Cali, Vet was Dr Linn.
