Experiencia fantástica: I took my dog Lucy here because she had been limping on her leg. They did x-rays on her and found that she had dislocated her hip and had to get a surgery done called a femoral head ostectomy. They gave me all the prices and estimates up front which I really appreciated. She is now 4 weeks post op and she is doing great! They took really good care of her the day she had her surgery and gave me updates throughout her stay. Really nice staff and reasonable prices. They also accept care credit for anyone who is curious. Highly recommend! Edit 3 years later: This is my second time having one of my pets have a surgery at this location. My cat Lyra has periodontal disease and needed dental surgery. They did an exceptional job and at a very reasonable price. I have taken both my cat Lyra and my dog Lucy here for the last few years for both wellness checks and surgical procedures. They are the best vet clinic I have been to in Lubbock. Very friendly staff and great service.

I called yesterday to schedule an appointment for both my fur baby boys to get the shot for their allergies. They were able to get us in later in the day. Our boys are always excited when we go to the office. Not only did they give them their shots but they were able to squeeze in a little exam of one of our boys who has an ear infection and immediately gave a medicine to clear up the infection and schedule a follow up. Anyone looking for the best veterinarian in town, this is the place.

Experiencia fantástica: I needed a revision surgery to attempt to get clear margins for a soft tissue sarcoma for my pup. West Texas Veterinary Specialists coordinated with 82nd St Vet Clinic to have their board certified surgeon perform the surgery at this clinic. We drove a couple of hours to get there and I was so nervous about the whole thing. The clinic staff were all so kind and caring and patient. They worked perfectly with WTVS and the surgeon, Dr. Thompson, to take excellent care of my girl and they answered all of my questions and concerns. My pup had a previous slipped disc which I was terrified of reinjuring. They took this very seriously and made sure to protect her back. They were very patient with my fears and questions as well. The next day they called to check on us and make sure things were good and answer any additional questions. I hope we never have to do this again, but I’m glad to have found a clinic close to home~ish that I can trust for this type of care. I’m also thankful they are willing to partner with WTVS and the surgeon to provide this type of care here in the panhandle area. This is a blessing for pets with cancer and other more extensive issues who need care closer to home! Thanks again to these amazing souls! Also a shout out to West Texas Veterinary Specialists who coordinated this surgery with their surgeon, Dr Thompson. Without them, I would have driven to Dallas or further for this. And… we did get clear margins so the surgery was a success and I’m so thankful for that as well!

Experiencia negativa: Lost my business today. I have nothing negative to say about the vet or their care of the animals, they were great but their front desk receptionist Ashley is awful. After a few questions about their refill policy, she became extremely unprofessional, agitated and frustrated on the phone and hung up on me. I still don’t know if she actually scheduled my pets appointment this week or not. At the very least, if you can’t handle a professional conversation on the phone you could have the decency to have someone else hop on the call or send a follow up email. Very disappointed and will not be taking my pets there anymore.

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT USE THIS VETERINARY CLINIC My dog had to be sedated for an ear infection, I dropped him off in the am and picked him up at 4 pm on a Friday, they brought him to me and handed me a bag with two rx's and NO aftercare information. When I arrived home, I took him outside, I noticed blood on my porch and looked and saw his back paw was dripping in blood--literally, which is crazy since he was there for his ears, he had diarrhea and was throwing up and continually whining, I called the office and as soon as they answered they said "82nd st vet clinic can you hold please" I held for about 10 min, hung up and called back, same thing, waited on hold again hung up and called back a third time, when she answered and said hold please, I told her I didn't want to be put on hold because I knew they were about to close and I had picked up my dog earlier and had some concerns, she said "we are about to close but I am with a customer and will have to put you on hold" needless to say, I NEVER spoke with anyone about my dog that day because they did close without taking my call. My dog whimpered all night; he HEAVILY panted and would not lay down until after 2 AM. Saturday he slept and whined most of the day and he would not get up into his favorite chair. Sunday, more improvement and only an occasional whimper, still not getting on bed, chair or couch and he was constantly licking his back foot. Monday (labor day) he finally would get on the furniture again, no whining, still licking his foot and seems to be experiencing hearing loss (that he did not have on Friday) I called them on Tuesday morning and I am sure I spoke with the person that kept putting me on hold, I told her everything I mentioned in this post, she said they were swamped, did I want someone to call me back--I said yes, I want to know what happened to my dog and need some questions answered. This is Thursday, I am still waiting on that call. They SHOULD NOT be treating animals. There has been literally ZERO communication after I paid $270.00 T today is nine days after I took my dog in, he still can't hear and neither has anyone called me back. UPDATE: It has been three weeks and my dog still cannot hear a specific sounds; I don't know how they damaged his hearing or cut his foot and I still have not heard from this vet. They may be good for check ups, vaccines or minor issues, but they have given me such reservations for ever taking my dog to ANY vet. Do not trust your pet with this clinic. What they did is horrible.

Experiencia fantástica: This is a really good veterinary clinic. This is an updated review. Since the last review, Dr. Emily Broadstreet has been joined by Dr. Jet Grant! Dr. Grant is a very good addition to the practice. He is kind and concerned about our pets, and we are please with is care.

Experiencia fantástica: We live in New Braunfels but have a Cabin in Dickens county. Our Rilley an 8 year old Spinone developed a limp on his right hind leg!! A vet in New Braunfeks tentatively diagnosed it as an ACL tear. To confirm they wanted $470.00 for exrays and if confirmed they would refer us the a local Vet surgeon. They estimated the surgery at a cost of $3500 to $5000. Not being wealthy and having our cabin up there I contacted 82nd st Veterinary They were extremely cooperative and supportive. In reviewing our options their exray was only $270.00 and a rough estimate for the surgery was arround $1500 to $2000.00 With their supportive demeanor and major cost difference we drove 475 miles to get their help. They were all amazing and the final diagnosis was Riley had some hip arthritis. Treatment with medication was recomended. I would highly recomend this Veterinary as they are supportive caring, capable and reasonable in their pricing!!!

Sometimes, you may have to wait a little bit for your appointment, but Dr. Grant spends SO much time with you and your pet. He truly cares and answers all questions. I do not mind waiting to see him anymore because I have always had such a wonderful experience with him and his staff. Dr. Grant is unequivocally the best DVM in Lubbock. Prices are very reasonable, too.

Experiencia fantástica: Caring, compassionate, and professional are just a few of the words I would use to describe the amazing people at 82nd Street Vet. Clinic. I have entrusted them with all of my dogs and multiple litters of puppies over the years. Although, recently, they really treated me and my oldest dog as if we were family. My oldest dog was diagnosed with a metastasized terminal cancer and was given days or maybe weeks to live before the inevitable. They were there for me every step of the way from prompt medication refills, frequently asking about updates, and the best client to veterinarian experience I could've asked for. Please, look NO FURTHER, when choosing a veterinarian clinic in the Lubbock area. They are wonderful people with the biggest hearts.

Experiencia fantástica: I have a schnauzer mix, Keira has been going to the clinic off and on since 2016. This clinic has always gone above and beyond to take care of Keira’s needs. Keira had heart disease and liver disease. Recently she’s been going to the clinic more because she stopped walking. She started scooting everywhere. Dr Emily prescribed her a couple of medicines to help and she did walk a little at first but stopped altogether walking. She developed a UTI and Dr Emily prescribed antibiotics for her. Then she went in for congestion and dehydration because of kidney disease. Dr Emily said she have Keira given an IV for the rest of that day. Emily called and said that there was not any changes in Keira’s condition and said I could leave Keira overnight and access her situation the next morning. I went to leave her antibiotics for the UTI and visited with Keira. My only regret was that I did not stay longer with her. I will always regret that but I thought she would pull through. The next morning Mitzi called around 8 am and informed me that Keira had passed during the night. I was devastated because Keira had been with us for 16 years. She was a friend and had been my only companion since my husband had passed in 2021. Dr Emily had been telling me to consider quality of life but I thought Keira had more time. I did not realize how sick she really was and tired. I did not to be honest want to make that decision but would have if I knew she was suffering. But you know God always has a plan and he helped me and made the decision for me. He took her in her sleep before she started suffering. I am so thankful for that. It’s been hard and will continue to be hard to get used to being without Keira. She was a huge part of my family. I arranged things around her so you would not be alone for long periods of time. I love and miss her and always will. I would like to thank the two ladies at the front desk, Nick, Dr Emily, Mitzi and all the rest of the staff that ever helped with Keira. Thank you and God bless you. If I ever get another dog, I will certainly bring it to this clinic. It will be awhile because it will be difficult to top Keira. Experiencia negativa: I have gone there for many years and had dozens of animals cared for in every capacity. I had an emergency come up the day before I got paid and they were not willing to work with me in any way. I had a dog in excruciating pain and they said I had to pay before they would they would euthanize her. I also ask for advice to help her through the night and they refused giving any advice. They actually told me to have a good day and if she lived through the weekend and we had gotten paid they would be glad to see me on Monday to put her down. I am looking for a new vet that even pretends to care about an animals suffering.

Experiencia fantástica: They were absolutely wonderful. I took a little 6 week old stray kitten that showed up at our shot because she needed some veterinary care. Daywear extremely helpful and goddess on the right track to having a healthy kitty. Update: took the kitten back to this clinic to be spayed, as we fell in love with her and decided to keep her. They were amazing. Even texted me with a pic when the procedure was over to let me know she was ok. They were very informative when I picked her up, and even called the next day to check on her. Thier pricing is very affordable as well! I'll be back!

The care they provided was caring and thorough. They even texted me a picture of our puppy after he came out of the anesthesia/surgery. A couple of days later I was texted inquiring about how he was doing. As if that wasn't enough their pricing was considerable less than other vets in Lubbock. Thanks you to the entire staff and consider us a permanent client.

Experiencia fantástica: My two dogs and my two cats are as close to children as I have and 82nd is the only place I feel comfortable taking them. They take such great care of them and offer affordable rates for their services. Examples being when I get them their rabies boosters they don’t charge an additional vet visit fee like many other places do in Lubbock, they just charge for the vaccines. Just yesterday I got my youngest dog fixed and they treated her so well. One of them were talking about how when she woke up she just couldn’t help but go over and pet her. You can tell everyone here really loves animals and wants to do everything in the best interest of your furfamily and that’s why I’m going to continue trusting them with mine.

Experiencia fantástica: I started my day out noticing blood on my German Shepherd Amari . I saw on her shoulder a wound . My husband was able to shave the area and oh my goodness there was a buckle size wound all the way down to the muscle wall . I was horrified for my dog ! I called our Vet. and they were so low staffed they would not be able to see us for 2 days . I told myself there’s no way we can wait ! Anari is hurt . I called this office and they told us to bring her in . I was so thankful . Very nice staff greeted us but Anari was a handful . She is 1 1/2 years old . They overlooked her barking and acting out of control . But after all the dog had a serious injury. The Vet. Assistant was a lovely person . The veterinarian was awesome. Now after two days, the prescribed medication’s have started to heal and help the wound. Anari is a bundle of joy and she’s back to normal. I am so grateful to your entire staff. I highly recommend this veterinary office.

Whether getting kitties spayed/neutered, seeing them through illness/sickness, even a couple of end of life situations - they do the job. Dr. Broadway and her crew of techs are a great bunch, and help me as much as possible with my special need cat - Vick, who has the hellish uncureable Stomatitis. Nick and Emily and the rest of the front area people show much grace, even when overwhelmed with customers - that happens often. High recommendations to the professional employees at 82nd St. Vet.

Experiencia fantástica: I took a feral cat to be spade. They were amazing and treated the cat and me like their best customers. They collected a lot of information to provide the best care. The cat was calm when I picked her up; she wanted to get out of the crate but showed no anxiety of being in an unfamiliar place. I know they treated her well. I recommend them.

They almost always get us in same day if she is sick. It is a busy clinic, but for us the occasionally long wait times have been worth it. She has received care in SA, couldn’t get better, came here and within 24 hours was on the mend. They have provided great care for all our pets for many years now starting with Dr Taylor and now Dr. Broadway. Thank you!

I have an anxious dog and we wait in the car and the process of getting my babies seen is always smooth. The wait can be a little sometimes but I don’t mind at all because of the service!! The vets and vet techs and receptionist are all professional and gentle with my babies. I recommend this vet to anyone that asks!

The room was not cleaned between patients but Dr. Grant was great & answered all my questions & concerns about my dogs health so I was going to tolerate all that but then when I was checking out I inquired about the process of getting my dogs prescribed medication if she needed more just for future reference & the guy in the front told me he didn't have an answer for me. So I asked how do I find out & he told me to call them while I was literally standing there at the front desk. Like it was so hard for him to get up & go ask someone there that was more knowledgeable or to even give me a call at a later time. I've been going to this vet for 7 or more years so the front staff knows me. He was not friendly & definitely not at all helpful & now I'm considering taking my business elsewhere where customers are appreciated

Even when they are swamped the front receptionist always have a positive attitude, I'm gonna guess they enjoy the people they work with. My dogs are not super mannered but I never feel judged my their employees like I have at other places.

Experiencia fantástica: Everything went smoothly when I dropped my Rottweiler off to get neutered. The staff was friendly. When I picked up at the end of the day, the staff even helped me get my Rottweiler back in my vehicle. Best prices in town. Best care in town.

Experiencia fantástica: I’m so happy that I chose this vet. I had an appointment scheduled 2 days away. When she got feeling bad, they got us in that day. My dog can usually be reactivated around strangers, but they took it slow, and it made all the difference in the world. They have an app that is super easy to use, and if I send in a message, I get a response within the hour. Great office, and great staff.

Experiencia negativa: I’ve always had a good experience with them I take all three of my pets here. Yesterday I had the newest member of my family spayed. I received a text early in the afternoon saying everything went fine with her surgery the text even included a picture of her. As I arrived to pick her up I learned everything wasn’t fine she had a reaction to the anesthesia and had been vomiting and she was very disoriented and out of sorts. The loopy thing I understand having been under anesthesia but then I find out they actually had to administer shots to counter act the anesthesia. Ok . Now 48 hours later I’m having to bring her back to try to see if we can give her another shot just to settle her stomach because she hasn’t eaten since the day before the surgery. Now I’m hit with another bill. For the shot and some high calorie soft food. The bill kinda bothers me but to be honest what really matters to me and upsets me is the fact that I was told everything was great and fine when it truly wasn’t. Going and being prepared to see my baby in this condition is one thing but being told everything is fine when it’s clearly not really rubs me the wrong way. I’ve never had any issues here before and today I was truly disappointed with how my baby was handled. I am seriously considering changing veterinary clinics.

Experiencia negativa: Was going to try a new vet and found this one with great reviews but I took my friends cat in two days ago because she had become very week, not walk around as much and not eating or drinking. She was a very young cat but all they said was she probably had swallowed something and that’s why she wasn’t eating and drinking. She past this morning and I was very upset that this vet didn’t find out much more when I was there.

Experiencia negativa: Completely missed a very noticeable fracture on my pets spin. They gave him Steroids, not knowing the actual proplem with him and that ended up being way too potent for my cat making him unable to move do to drowsiness. I ultimately had to take him to a competent clinic where they had to reverse what this clinic did. It was incredibly frustrating having to watch my best friend unable to to comprehend what was going on with his body. unable to move, mild long stare. I definitely do not recommend this clinic.
