Experiencia fantástica: We had the best possible experience, on the worst possible day of our lives!!! We called ahead and the voice on the phone was patient and kind, and I was a wreck! At 2:45 am on Feb 13, 2026 we entered the lobby and we're greeted by the voice on the phone. Our 90lb baby was immediately rushed in on the gurney and we were asked to wait in Room 2. Quite literally in a matter of minutes we were greeted by Dr. Gonzalez! Who had the unfortunate job of delivering the diagnosis and our options. She was thoughtful and thorough, as well as incredibly patient as we asked what few questions we had. We ultimately had no choice but to make the hardest decision we have yet to be faced with. Our Tug was not a fur baby, in fact he had no idea he was a dog. He was the heart of our home and the light of so many lives. He was an amazing advocate for Bully Breeds with his own platform. He was a true angel, who literally saved my life on more than one occasion. He was a registered service animal, who spent countless nights in the hospital bed next to his Dad willing him to get better so we could all go home. Tug was known and loved far and wide. He received special invitations to dog shows. He was a "model" dog and had multiple requests to be a brand ambassador. He loved people and loved life. He was with us 24/7, he went absolutely EVERYWHERE with us. We hardly spent a moment apart in the 14 years we had him, the very few times we were apart he was still with people who adored him. He was the best babysitter. He was our Bug and he had the biggest personality you've ever seen. He loved nothing more than sleeping with his dad. And, that is how we said goodbye. Going to sleep one last time between us, and surrounded in love. We were given all the time we needed with our baby, though all the time in the world wouldn't have been enough. This was all very unfamiliar, uncharted territory for us, so we were lost and had no idea how to navigate these waters. The staff basically handled everything short of making final decisions for us. We could not be more greatful for the this staff and their dedication to what can not be simply summed us a "job"!!! TO THE INCREDIBLE STAFF...... I was a nurse and I know what it is to face death everyday. But, that was with people. I COULD NOT DO WHAT Y'ALL DO EVERYDAY!!! EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU ARE SPECIAL BEYOND MEASURE!!! AND, I CAN NOT THINK OF ANYTHING ON EARTH THAT WOULD ADEQUATELY THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR THE APPRECIATION WE HAVE HAVE FOR ALL THAT YOU DID FOR US. HEAVEN IS HOLDING A PLACE FOR EACH OF YOU AND THE WINGS THAT AWAIT YOU ARE COLORED IN RAINBOW!!! THANK YOU ALL FOR EVERYTHING, WE LEFT OUR HEART WITH YOU AND WE KNOW IT WAS TRULY HANDLED WITH CARE.❤️
Dear Carly,
Thank you so much for your heartfelt and touching review. At Lubbock Small Animal Emergency Clinic, we are deeply moved by your words and your trust in us during such an incredibly difficult time. Tug was truly special, and it’s clear he was loved beyond measure. We’re honored to have been part of his final moments with you and your family, and we share in your grief and love for him.
Knowing that we could provide some comfort and support during your hardest days means the world to us. Please know that Tug’s memory will live on in the hearts of everyone here who cared for him. Our team is dedicated to treating each pet with the same love and respect as if they were our own, and your kind words reaffirm the importance of that commitment.
If there’s anything you need moving forward, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Experiencia fantástica: I knew Lucky would receive excellent overnight post-surgery care which enabled me to get a worry-free night of sleep. Experiencia fantástica: Being at the Emergency Vet on a Saturday night was not on my Bingo Card for the evening but there Stone and I were. Stone wasn't feeling well and our mobile vet said we needed to get him in immediately. Lauren (Vet Tech) was very knowledgeable and nice. She took such good care of Stone. Dr Angel was very patient with all my questions did not try to over order any unnecessary testing which I loved. I couldn't have asked for two better people to guide me through what was happening. I even had a few questions after we left and they happily answered them the next day. Stone is slowly getting better. Thank you to all of the employees for answering all my t questions and being so sweet to my little guy. Hope we do not have to be back but definitely where will be going if the need comes again for any of our fur children
Hi Jennifer,

Experiencia fantástica: We were SO worried that we were going to lose our loved one, our little dog Mikey, that night. But your team welcomed us quickly and got right to the xray that showed our dog had bloat due to eating too much food rather than a twisting of his bowel. Thankfully, no surgery was needed, and we were reassured. Breanna, the vet, explained everything so well, putting our minds at ease. We all were able to go home that night. Everyone there was very supportive, friendly and concerned. It's nice when the people who are taking care of your loved one show concern and caring. Raygan (sp?), the receptionist, was so helpful on the phone before our arrival and once we arrived. She was very friendly and concerned. All the staff that helped us we were very thankful for: the technician, the vet assistant AND the vet, Breanna, who thoughtfully and patiently explained Mikey's xray reassuring us that our loved one would be okay in a couple of days as the large amount of food he had unknowingly eaten would pass safely. What I appreciated most is the efficiency of getting the explanation of what was wrong very quickly because we were very scared when we first arrived at the clinic that we might lose Mikey or have to have surgery. We were immediately reassured all would be okay. THANK YOU TO ALL from the bottom of our hearts for saving our Mikey.
Experiencia positiva: The care was great and our pets fully recovered! Every time we have visited the wait time has been several hours. I would recommend calling before you go to get an idea of your wait time if it’s not a critical emergency. Only having one veterinarian in the clinic especially on the weekends is worrisome in the event of several pet emergencies / surgeries happening like we encountered. The front desk and vet technicians were very friendly and were trying to handle the patients as best they could. Initially we were not told how long the wait would be. We started getting updates of when we could be seen after a couple of hours in the waiting area. To be fair the waiting room was full that evening. We checked in at 6:45pm and were not seen until after midnight. We waited in an exam room for over an hour with minimal interaction but were always met with an apology for the wait. We eventually left the clinic around 2:30am. What I appreciated most is the exam was intentional and thorough in trying to figure out the problem with our pets. We had to leave one of our pets overnight and had to initiate calls for updates the next day but were always helped upon calling. I can grateful say our pets have had full recoveries which I contribute to the excellent care given. I would recommend bringing a seat cushion with you as the wood benches become unbearable after an hour. I do really appreciate having an emergency clinic open 24/7 here in Lubbock because in my experience emergencies usually happen after hours and typically on the weekends. I do think this clinic could stand having a few more employees to help after hours because I believe it’s the only clinic open after 5pm.
Experiencia fantástica: The care was amazing. Our dog was there for 3 days and everyone was so kind and understanding. Cali and I think his name was Javon were amazing!! There was some sweet girl that I spoke with on the phone 2 times that was his tech and she was so sweet. What I appreciated most is how kind and understanding everyone was. They made this whole experience so much better. The discharge went very well and smooth. Also since the weather was getting bad and we live 2 hours away they let us get our pup early. Everyone was so understanding and explained things so well.
Dear Regina,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your kind words about your experience at Lubbock Small Animal Emergency Clinic. We are thrilled to hear that Cali received the care she needed and that our team, especially Javon and the tech, made a positive impact during such a stressful time. Providing compassionate and understanding care is our top priority, and we’re glad that our team was able to help make this experience better for you and Cali. We appreciate your trust in us and wish Cali a speedy recovery.
Thank you again for your heartfelt review.

Experiencia fantástica: I want to thank the staff who worked the evening of 1/21. We normally take our cat, Harley, to AMC, but since it was after hours, we urgently needed an emergency vet. Our almost 14-year-old cat had suddenly become jaundiced—a significant change from the night before. She had been dealing with severe liver distress per our primary vet, but things did not go the way we expected. My family and I were completely overwhelmed by the sudden sense of urgency. In a moment of panic, I searched for an emergency vet in town and chose Lubbock Small Animal Emergency Clinic within seconds because of the high reviews. It ended up being one of the best decisions we could have made. We were checked in immediately. The front desk employee could clearly see how distressed we were and how unwell Harley looked, and she quickly brought us into a private room so we could spend time with Harley comfortably and quietly. That small act meant more than I can put into words. The staff member who came in to assess Harley and listen to our concerns was incredibly kind and comforting. She listened attentively, and it was obvious how deeply she cared. The veterinarian then gave us something we desperately needed: peace. She helped us understand that choosing comfort over aggressive care was the right decision for Harley. From the moment I noticed Harley had turned yellow, I selfishly wanted to take her home and provide comfort care there. But when my dad asked what the progression of liver failure would look like, it became clear that I would never want Harley to experience seizures, worsening pain, and confusion. The vet explained everything honestly yet gently, with so much patience and compassion. We deeply appreciate being able to take care of payment and discuss aftercare options for Harley ahead of time. Having those decisions made before everything happened allowed us to be fully present with her during her final moments, without having to think about logistics or money in the middle of our grief. That thoughtfulness made an incredibly difficult moment just a little more bearable. The veterinarian and the technician were exactly what we needed in our final moments with Harley. I apologize for how long this review is, but Harley was family. I would trust this facility with any fur baby without hesitation. This is an incredibly compassionate, caring group of people. Thank you for taking care of us during one of the hardest moments of our lives. Thank you for making Harley’s final moments peaceful and dignified. She deserved that—and it would not have been possible without you.
Dear Nae,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your heartfelt experience with us. We are truly honored to have been able to care for Harley during such a difficult time. At Lubbock Small Animal Emergency Clinic, we understand how precious our furry family members are, and it means the world to hear that we could provide some comfort and peace during your family’s difficult moment.

Please know that our thoughts are with you during this challenging time. If you ever need anything in the future, we are here for you. Thank you again for trusting us with Harley’s care and for sharing your story.

Experiencia fantástica: These vets really seem to care and are willing to go above and beyond for you little one❤️ The receptionist that I called and scheduled with, the assistant that made my dog comfortable, and Dr. Stingle for going above and beyond for me. What I appreciated most is that they fit me in the schedule when they were already booked because they understood the severity of the condition of my dog.

Experiencia fantástica: Such an amazing experience! My poor baby ate a bottle of my iron supplements. They got her in a room within seconds of being there. The people were very friendly and professional. I will be taking all my animals here from now on. The prices were very reasonable and they didn’t push me to get anything not needed!

Experiencia negativa: I was told that if I did not leave my dog that my dog would be dead. The next day I left him and $1200 later bring him home and he bled out because of some drains that were bleeding when he left the office I would not recommend them at all.
Experiencia fantástica: From the moment we walked in the door until we left, everyone was so helpful and kind. Everything was discussed with us, including what would be done to our Charlee and the cost before anything was done. I truly appreciate everyone's care and kindness to our Charlee boy!

Experiencia negativa: This was, without exaggeration, one of the most careless and unprofessional veterinary experiences I have ever encountered. I brought my dog in on Christmas Eve for treatment after he sustained a dog bite. The injury required anesthesia and sutures. I entrusted my dog to their care and returned when I was notified he was ready for pickup. When I arrived, my dog could barely stand on his own. I was told this was “normal” and that he would walk as if he were intoxicated from anesthesia. I was given medication instructions and dismissed. No post-operative care instructions were provided regarding crating, activity restriction, or monitoring, omissions that later proved consequential. At home, once the anesthesia had fully worn off, my dog was allowed minimal activity—brief, supervised trips to the backyard to relieve himself. That evening, he became fixated on biting his leg. When the bandage was removed, we discovered something astounding and unacceptable: the IV catheter had been left in his leg, and the sutured wound had reopened. Let me be very clear: leaving an IV catheter in a discharged animal is not a minor oversight—it is basic procedural negligence. My sister-in-law, a licensed nurse, had to remove the catheter herself because it was Christmas Eve and no emergency alternative was realistically available. The following morning, Christmas Day, I returned. Only then was I informed that my dog should have been crated post-procedure. This instruction was never given, either verbally or in writing, during discharge. Despite this, I was told the entire procedure would need to be repeated. The first visit cost $750. They then attempted to charge another $750 to redo a procedure that failed due to their own errors. After I objected, the charge was reduced to $350—an amount that still represents a financial penalty imposed on the client for the clinic’s failure. This correction should have been performed at no cost. The difference between the first and second visit was alarming. After the second procedure, my dog was alert, stable, wagging his tail, standing independently, and—remarkably—no IV catheter had been left in his leg. When I described the condition in which my dog had been discharged the first time, staff acknowledged that animals are typically kept longer for monitoring and are not usually sent home in that state. That admission alone speaks volumes. How a single facility can deliver such wildly inconsistent standards of care within 24 hours is deeply concerning. The combination of inadequate discharge instructions, premature release, a forgotten IV catheter, a reopened wound, and then charging additional money to fix those failures is indefensible. I find it shameful that this clinic profited from correcting a problem they themselves created. My dog suffered unnecessarily, and I was placed in a position no pet owner should ever be in. I would not recommend this facility under any circumstances.
Experiencia negativa: Gave us false information on how our pet was going to be fine just need to do our part. We have, and he passed this morning they told us nothing of him passing and said he was doing to be fine we only needed to worry if the stitches came apart but he was going to be fine if he heals . We called and they are lying of when and what information they had supposedly told us but they never said any of it. We have the notes and have proof they caused a wrongful death. Plz read they only care about getting money they only told us he had a chance of dying without the surgery so we proceed, they told us he was going to be fine and he passed. Don’t recommend.
Experiencia fantástica: The staff was very sweet and understanding when I had to bring my baby to be put down. She was almost being 17 and she declined so quick. They got me in after hours and quickly. They gave me time with her and explained the prices ahead of time. Thank you guys.

Experiencia fantástica: We drove from Clovis, NM as it was New Year’s Day and all local vets were closed. The staff were super friendly and super helpful. Very upfront with concerns and pricing. The pricing itself was WAY better than I expected as well. I expected to pay at least double what we ended up paying in the end. I felt very well heard when it came to the concerns of my cat and that what they did and suggested was appropriate for the situation.

Experiencia negativa: I brought a kitten that was attacked by dogs here. They said that she only had a scratch on her leg. I went to another clinic to get another opinion, she had a broken lumbar and was paralyzed. We had to put her down.
Experiencia fantástica: Took our Maisy Day ( Pyrenees ) to them on 4th of July this year. She was a high priority and they rushed her right in. They were compassionate and did everything they could to make our Maisy comfortable before she passed. Very reasonably priced for an emergency vet and were up front with prices, and options. Very professional and gave us all the time in the world to mourn our dog. We didnt feel rushed at all. Thank you for taking care of our baby.

Experiencia negativa: Waited two hours for our dog to be seen and ended up having two other dogs come in and go before while our dog is having trouble walking and standing on its own.
Experiencia negativa: I have had 2 puppies die because of this place.instead of keeping my puppy for observation they sent him home said he would be fine. He was having symptoms of parvo ran test and he didnt have it. He passed away the next day after they said he was fine. They should of kept him and put him on iv and ran tests. They got our $350 and neglected to do their job as a doctor. This was a 4 week old baby who had lost a lot of blood this place is just after the money they dont care about your animals. Don't let them fool you. Take your pet to a regular liscensed vet. This place is a joke.
Experiencia negativa: Service was great, but the night nurses are very rude. Unbelievably rude .. They would not even let me see my dog until the bill was paid in full. 1300.00
Experiencia fantástica: Thank you to everyone at the Lubbock emergency hospital for animals. We were very pleased as to how you handled our beloved dog thank you.

Experiencia fantástica: I was extremely pleased with the response time and care for my pet from start to finish. Vet Tech and Vet were extremely helpful and caring during the visit. In depth explanations were given after diagnosis along with treatment and care instructions. Really appreciated the timely updates on how things were progressing. I was informed of the cost of tests upfront so there wasn't a sticker shock after treatment.

Experiencia fantástica: I took my cat, Riley, when he was dragging his hind leg after a particularly stressful visit and vaccine injection at a new primary vet after we moved here from another city. Gabe greeted us at the door and remained present throughout the visit. He took Riley’s history, stayed with him in the back while sedated, and made sure I was updated along the way. He assured me they were handling Riley in the least stressful way possible as he has extremely high vet-anxiety. The clinic provided chest x-rays while doing x-rays of Riley’s legs because he is being treated for FIP. The doctor was also so nice. She was thorough and explained everything perfectly. I hope we don’t have to return, but I also wish they could be our primary clinic!

Thank you again for your trust and for sharing your experience.

Experiencia positiva: The service was wonderful. The time was horrible! We were there from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Experiencia fantástica: While my only experience with this office was a tragedy in my life, the staff was incredible. The vet on staff was highly compassionate and quick with updates during my emergency visit. I had the misfortune of being able to hear the work they were doing, but from it I could tell the staff here did everything in their power to save my boy. I can't recommend this clinic enough. I would trust them with any animal.
Dear Quinton,
Thank you for sharing your heartfelt feedback. We are truly sorry for your loss and appreciate your kind words about our staff and veterinarian. It means a lot to know that we could provide compassionate care during such a difficult time. Your trust in us and your recommendation are the highest compliments we could receive. Experiencia fantástica: I brought my 11.5 year-old tripod pit bull mix, Lucy, on Saturday, 10/18 with what I feared was end-of-life issues. Unfortunately I was correct. The veterinarian on duty plus the vet tech staff were so compassionate and gentle with both her and me. I am so grateful for the long hours and hard work these people perform!
Dear Gwen,
Thank you so much for your kind words. We understand how difficult these moments are, and we're truly grateful that we could provide compassionate care for Lucy during such a challenging time. It means a lot to hear that our team was able to support both you and Lucy in her final moments. Please know that we're here for you anytime you need us.

Experiencia negativa: Be careful to look up treatments they want to give your animal! Took my cat in concerned about a possible UTI, which was later confirmed to be a UTI. They took our cat into a different area and she was away from us for a three hours where we heard her crying out, while we sat and waited in the room they put us in. While there, there was only two other people who came in. So it felt weird that it took so long. They did a blood count and general profile on our cat and said her results came back normal and healthy(all results were normal for blood work). The vet said he did not feel any urinary stones which was good. However her Urinalysis came back and we were told she had a UTI. The vet tech came in and told us they wanted to give her two injections to help with the UTI. The vet tech said they don’t like to give people oral pills because it’s more difficult with cats. When we said we would be fine with oral medicine because our cat isn’t very difficult but the vet tech put a lot of pressure on us for the two injections. We figured the vet knew best so they gave her the two injections (Convenia Injection and Dexamethasone 2.0 mg/ml Injection). The bill came out to be $500.00, which is surprising because to treat a simple UTI it usually costs $150.00-$200.00 for the area. We got home and noticed our cat was still straining and did not look comfortable and she was super swollen around her vaginal area. (The area was not swollen previously). After two days she still didn’t seem to be improving. I did a basic google search of the medicine they gave her and found that “Dexamethasone is a powerful anti-inflammatory prescribed to treat asthma, immune-mediated diseases, severe allergic reactions, in cats”. I thought it was weird that they gave this to my cat seeing as they told me she had a UTI. After more research I found out, Dexamethasone is generally not the primary treatment for a cat's urinary tract infection (UTI). Steroids like dexamethasone can suppress the immune system. The potent anti-inflammatory effects of dexamethasone can hide the signs of an active bacterial infection. This can lead to a delayed diagnosis and allow the infection to worsen or spread to the kidneys. Convenia is considered to be a controversial treatment for feline urinary tract infections (UTIs) primarily because its long-acting nature can increase the risk of antimicrobial resistance and cause prolonged, irreversible adverse reactions. Convenia remains in a cat's system for up to 65 days. If a severe allergic or other adverse reaction occurs, there is no way to remove the drug, and side effects can persist for a long time. It is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that is often overused for convenience, even when other, safer options are available. I called back to talk to the vet after 6 days of her condition not improving and they told me to take her to a daytime clinic for treatment unless it is an emergency. When I asked about why the have her those two particular injections they told me they would put me on a hold and talk to the vet. This happened three separate times where I was hung up on and I never heard from the vet or got an answer. 0/10 I would not recommend this vet.
Experiencia negativa: Absolutely horrible. The last few weeks this place has recieved one star reviews and the manager never responds to negative comments . Which is a huge red flag. Means they dont care or want to be better. If I saw the reviews sooner I might have not even bothered in the first place. We took our dog in because he had been vomiting and diarrhea all day and dehydrated. filled out all the paperwork. The vet tech DID NOT check his gums, heart, temperature or weight. When we got there no one else was there. The animal that came in after us had a limp . Walls are paper thin. She told us she would be back to get his temp and weight.. never came back. You can hear them talking behind the door.. an hour later she told us to try to go to another clinic or continue to wait... seriously?? She wasnt assisting with a medical emergency, so at the very least do the basics and check his vitals especially being an emergency clinic. DONT WAST YOUR MONEY.
Experiencia fantástica: My baby was hit by a car. We got him in, but he did not survive from his injuries. The staff was very caring and compassionate during the passing of our precious Rocky.
Dear Mary,
Thank you so much for sharing your heartfelt message. We are deeply sorry for your loss and truly appreciate your kind words regarding our staff. During such a difficult time, our goal is to provide compassionate care and support to both pets and their families. Please know that Rocky was loved, and we are honored to have been a part of his final moments. If you need anything or just want to talk, we are here for you.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Lubbock Small Animal Emergency Clinic
Experiencia negativa: I typically don't leave bad reviews and have let the situation simmer and feel the need to share my experience. The clinic did fix the stray pup that was ran over which I took there in an emergency situation. However before taking him there I did get advised from my usual vet on necessary procedures in order to keep him from dying. I called the clinic because they were nearest to me and my vet wasn't available. Before going there I spoke with an employee and told her exactly what was needing to be done based off my vet. They quoted me 800$ to do what was needed and it was in line with what I was expecting from talking to my vet. However after we got the pup there and they accessed him the price increased to 1900 for exactly what was quoted over the phone. Seems like they were taking advantage of someone trying to save a random dog. After they were finished and I picked him up I discussed my issues and they stated they would have someone contact in regards to discrepancies, but no one reached out. No one followed up with us like they said. At the end of the day they seem to take advantage of people in need. I'd be careful and thorough before resulting in their services. The two stars vs one is simply for the fact the were available to keep the dog from dying.
Experiencia fantástica: Everyone’s at Lubbock emergency vet were so nice. They would come into the room and give me updates on what they were doing and about how much longer it would be. When I told them I was freezing, the doctor went and found a blanket and brought it to me. I would highly recommend them them anytime you have a pet emergency
Dear LaDonna,
Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience. We are delighted to hear that you felt well cared for and that our team at Lubbock Small Animal Emergency Clinic was able to provide comfort and clear communication during such a stressful time. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we’re grateful for the trust you placed in our team. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything in the future.
Sincerely,
Lubbock Small Animal Emergency Clinic
Experiencia fantástica: Was concerned about my pet breathing late night and had taken him here to have him check up. Staff were helpful and friendly and took great care of my senior dog they even assisted with transfering him to my regular vet clinic
Dear Kenny,
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. We understand how stressful it can be when a beloved pet is having health issues, especially late at night. We’re glad our team at Lubbock Small Animal Emergency Clinic could provide the care and support your senior dog needed, and we’re happy to hear they also assisted with transferring him to your regular vet. Your pet's well-being is our top priority, and we’re here whenever you need us.
Sincerely,
Lubbock Small Animal Emergency Clinic
Experiencia negativa: Awful service- waited for over an hour in a room not a single vet tech to come take my dog’s vitals or the paper work. Could hear them all laughing and chatting it up behind the wall though!
Experiencia negativa: This place is definitely a cash grab. It feels like a used car dealership with the amount of guilt tripping and haggling they try to do to get more money out of you. Brought our kitten in after we believed she ate something she wasn't supposed to. The staff took a blood sample and then didn't run it, for whatever reason. Then, the vet tech was extremely rude after asking for an update on our kitten. Mind you, this was after being there for about 4 hours with no update from the staff on her condition. The vet tech's have attitudes, and will literally tell you, "Do you care about your pet, or not?" after you decline an overnight stay which costs literally over a thousand dollars. I'm sorry not everyone has the money to immediately spend. About 6 hours later, our kitten finally had some charcoal put in her stomach and some meds. All of this was happening while the staff was constantly reassuring us that if we don't pay the money for an overnight stay, she'll die. I think any reasonable pet owner would prefer their pet to pass at home, unless in immediate, uncurable pain. We got charged for a fluid patch, and of course, they "forgot" to put it on, so we had to drive all the way back. To the staff, if you don't like working there, find a new job. It's very apparent that some vet techs there just live life mad, specifically the heavier set Hispanic woman, who refused to put her name in the treatment notes and had absolutely zero empathy. Will never return here again.
Experiencia negativa: Not impressed at all. Place was kind of dirty and didn’t seem like it was cleaned well. I think that if you’re having dogs or cats with serious problems and could get other animals sick it should be cleaned a little better. This isn’t even my biggest issue, I went in one night at 11, there was absolutely no change in the line from 11-1:45. Decided to take my dog home because he was having fairly bad anxiety with other big dogs in there barking. Realized maybe i should try and take him again in the morning, called before and they said it was about a 45 minute wait to an hour. I went straight into a room and waited again for over an hour and no one had came to check on us. My dog was seriously uncomfortable and hurting and no one there really seemed to want to help him as they were all laughing and talking in the back where you could hear them pretty clearly. I was skipped multiple times. Just saying maybe get a better system going because that was not it. Or maybe have multiple vets in there if you’re going to claim to be that busy.
Experiencia negativa: Took my cat in this morning concerned about a urinary blockage. Vet tech felt his bladder and said there is no blockage therefore he is not critical so you'll have to wait. Mind you he had blood coming out of his urethra. She said I could wait until 8am when another vet would be coming in and the fee would be cheaper, or I could take my chances and go to my vet. Well, took my chances with my vet and he indeed was blocked!! My cat could have died and this vet tech thought a small feel of his bladder was enough to determine my cat was not critical enough like the other patients in the back. Had I not gone elsewhere, my cat could have died!! Shame on her!!! Learn your job properly and have the actual VET do the checking to make a determination.
Experiencia negativa: I don't have much good to say about this place. I am very bitter about this animal care place. I do not recommend this place for anyone. Dragger's handyman service LLC gives this shop 2 thumbs down. Horrible experience that could have been different
Experiencia negativa: Do not take your beloved pet to this place, as they care more about money then your pet, we were low on funds and care credit was not available to us, our older girl started throwing up blood and pooping up blood they wanted over 200.00 to put her down we would have taken her to our vet but it was Saturday, when I told the receptionist that I guess they would rather he bleed to death and suffer and pray she passed away in the night they hung up on me so BEWARE this place does not care about you or your pet
Experiencia fantástica: They took amazing care of our Toy Poodle at 2am who ended up having bronchitis. Thank you!
Experiencia fantástica: The clinic staff was amazing from the receptionist to the tech and doctor! We were concerned because our dog had swallowed a pain pill for humans. The staff acted quickly, induced vomiting, and observed our dog until they knew it was safe to send her home. Just a very professional clinic that we would certainly trust our dog with again!
Experiencia fantástica: I took my 5-year-old puppy in four parvo. The staff was very understanding and was very helpful I'll be glad to say that my five-year-old little guy is pulling through thanks to the help of animal emergency clinic thank you for all of your help.
Experiencia fantástica: Very respectful, explained everything really good and took really good of my dog
Experiencia fantástica: Oh my goodness!! We had such a great experience today. My poor sweet fur baby had a terrible ear infection. They cared for him right away. We were seen quickly and received our medication all very quickly. The doctor and everyone there was so caring and supportive. Thank you so much♥️
Experiencia negativa: This place is absolutely terrible. Do not bring your pets here. Do not waste your time here. My dog was severely dehydrated, he was vomiting and not holding down water. For two days. It got so bad he was just passing blood. Straight blood. I rushed him to Small animal emergency clinic and I even called to let them know what was going on and that we were on the way. Once we got there all we got was “fill this paperwork out”. He had an accident inside and all Katy the front receptionist said was how bad he smelt. There was no questions regarding his condition, no check of his vitals absolutely nothing. I begged them to take him back and get him started on IVs because I knew he was dehydrated and needed something to help. Katy, kept telling me it wasn’t serious because there was feces in his stool. There was none. Absolutely none. All blood. When I walked up to the front to ask a question, she would answer the phone and ignore me. When I walked up to the front to ask another question, she would get up and leave. When I was crying in the lobby begging them to help my dog, they kept telling me how my dog wasn’t important enough and that it wasn’t serious enough. We left and took my dog to Live Oak Animal Hospital where he is currently still at. He had to be hospitalized and immediately started on IV fluids, antibiotics and nausea medication. There’s a special place in hell for people who neglect animals especially when it’s your job to care for them. Small Animal Emergency neglected my dog and delayed his treatment. If you can’t be a decent person with empathy the last place you should be working is an emergency center for animals. Never again will I recommend Small Animal Emergency or ever bring a dog there again. The treatment we received from Katy was disrespectful, discriminating and disappointing. My dog needed help and all she could do was gossip in the back and ignore a dog, a family in need. Do not waste your time or money here. Take your fur babies anywhere else for better treatment all around. I was told the wait would be 30 minutes, it ended being a two hour wait for absolutely no help at all. Again, it’s not worth your time.
Experiencia fantástica: Took very good care of our dog that was bit above eye from rattlesnake. Nice to be able to call and check on her. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Thank you for saving our dog.
Experiencia positiva: Overall very pleased with the care and treatment given to little Riley! She improved and is recovering thanks to the Vet, technicians, and staff! Only one complaint: it took about an hour for her to be seen.
Experiencia fantástica: Our elderly dog became ill over nite and we brought her to the clinic early in the morning. Unfortunately she could not be saved. The staff were incredibly empathetic and loving in our time of need. The hard decisions were guided by the staff and we were not burdened by anything other than helping our beloved pup end her suffering in a gentle loving way. These folks are truly doing God's work. They have helped our family with emergency care for their dog and they also highly recomend them.
Experiencia fantástica: The staff got my dog in immediately to see the vet. The staff were, prompt, courteous and professional . I love it that they are open 24 hours a day.
Experiencia fantástica: We came in on Labor Day 2025 The wait has been long but the front staff a lady named Aries has been wonderful. She was very busy with people coming in and phone calls. She was the only person but she handled it very professionally. I went up several times asking questions and she was very nice each time. I haven't been here in many years because I had a bad experience with the previous owners. I am really impressed with the change. I recommend.
Experiencia fantástica: I had a great experience taking my cat Finn here for his breathing issues. Dr. Paris got to the bottom of the issues and prescribed nose drops which vastly helped. She spent at least 15 minutes with me and went over every possible option, treatment and outcome. I highly recommend her! The vet tech was thorough and wonderful too.
Experiencia fantástica: They were all so nice and cared for my old pup with compassionate care.
Experiencia fantástica: No one ever wants to visit an emergency vet, but particularly not to have to put their dog down. Yesterday, I drove over 5 hours from to this vet and 5 hours back in order to pick up my childhood dog from my parents and make sure she would not have to continue suffering. She's been sick for awhile, but yesterday she started having seizures and I knew it was time to let her go. She is a highly anxious dog and I didn't want her to die scared. This vets office was so accommodating to my requests to try keep her comfortable and happy. Not only were the technicians and receptionists so lovely, but Dr. Gonzalez cried with me and hugged me after my dog was gone. I am so glad that someone, a stranger, cared so much for my dog in her passing and that her passing was peaceful and full of love. This dog was my first baby, my 16th birthday gift. She was my soul dog and I will never stop being grateful that this clinic made her feel as comfortable and loved as they could in her final moments. Due to lack of proximity, I am not likely to ever return to this vet, but I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a safe, loving vet to take their baby to in their final moments. Rest easy, Umi. Love you forever.
Experiencia fantástica: They took really good care of my girl, great communication throughout the entire process.
Experiencia fantástica: I live in a small town and needed a vet for an emergency with my pregnant cat. The staff was fast, professional and explained all of my cats treatment options. They were thorough in her treatment. I am so happy and content the treatment that she received.
Experiencia fantástica: My beloved cat was returned to me after a 2 month absence. Dr. Manders provided an excellent well-check with fantastic advice and an incredible bed-side manner. She did as much to care for my state of mind and assure me we were in good shape as she did for my precious pet.
Experiencia fantástica: I brought my cat Cheddar in this morning and was very pleased with the level of service here! When I called ahead of time, the office assistant informed me that the office fee is less between the hours of 8 am and 6 pm. Waiting just a couple of minutes saved me $75. I appreciate her being forth right. They treated Cheddar with empathy, and they are very transparent about pricing before they start any diagnostics or treatment. The individual line items were only slightly higher than my normal vet. I’ve never had to use emergency animal care, but I feel better knowing that this place is a viable option!
Experiencia fantástica: Very clean. Everyone was great. Was very informative about everything they were doing. Took very good care of our Miss Kitty.
Experiencia fantástica: I drove all the way from Midland to come to this emergency vet, and I do it again 1 million times over. The staff was kind and empathetic. They care. They’re honest in their pricing and have fantastic communication; they tell you your options and explain everything in great detail before just charging you for random procedures. If you come here, please be understanding that there is only one veterinarian. They do everything they can to help your pet. Without a shadow of a doubt, I would make the 2 hour drive again then to trust any emergency veterinarian in Midland.
Experiencia fantástica: Open 24/7 and great vets for an emergency or urgent situation. I have taken each of my dogs there. One pup cut his foot on broken glass when we were hiking and they got him patched up quickly. The other hurt her knee jumping out of the car. Luckily, each were ok and it wasn't something really bad. I was so glad there was this option so they didn't both have to be in pain over a whole weekend waiting for our vet to open on Monday! I'm glad this emergency vet is here.
Experiencia positiva: In December 2023 one of my cats was attacked by a pack of dogs. By the time I got to her she was severely injured with a broken leg, broken jaw, and many lacerations. It was late at night and Lubbock Small Animal Emergency Clinic was the only option so I made the one hour drive. They took her right away and began to evaluate. The vet on site said things were "not looking good" and alleged she may have cranial nerve damage. I wasn't give a lot of details. When asked what I wanted to do, I asked that they stabilize her and transfer her in the morning. She was transferred to Live Oak Animal Hospital where she needed jaw surgery, a leg splint, some stiches and and some dental work due to the attack. When I brought up the cranial nerve damage issue there, they said they saw no indication of that. Lubbock Small Animal Emergency Clinic did their job in keeping her alive until a vet hospital could see her, but I would be remiss for not deducting a star for the cranial nerve damage part of my experience that almost made me consider putting her down. Even so, they did their job is keeping her alive overnight and were kind and informative. My cat is alive today thanks for their efforts and I'm very grateful.
Experiencia negativa: I was appreciative of the team work BUT, after a few days at home I discovered my cat was covered in flea eggs. My cat has never had a problem with fleas but when I noticed something looking like dandruff, I did a google search only to find he was covered with flea eggs. This is a courtesy review, hope you clean your facility cause this visit has created a problem for me.
Experiencia positiva: Kinda like the ONLY 24 hour grocery store in town. At night there are no other choices. I helped a bystander that had hit a dog with her vehicle and the dog was laying in the road bleeding severely. Options? Yes.. leave the dog to suffer a certain death or gather it up and take it to the only vet open. The lady was nice, but it was made clear early in this that payment was the number 1 issue. In these situations one would expect to see a little compassion. But that didn't happen. Grateful they are there.
Experiencia positiva: They took very good care of our very sick dog. We drove an hour and a half to get there in the middle of a Friday night and they had her all weekend. They gave updates to us every time we called to check on her and even called us early Sunday morning for an update.
Experiencia fantástica: Everyone was very compassionate and helped guide us through our difficult process with our 16 year-old dog. Never felt rushed to leave. Highly recommend them.
Experiencia fantástica: Sarah and Dr Drew were amazing. They got us in quickly and explained everything as it happened and were very up front with cost! Thank you so much to all of the staff!
Experiencia positiva: The vet who handled our pup did excellent! She was sweet and apologetic for the wait time. When we got there, no one was at the front desk after checking in. About 4 other individuals were in the lobby. Someone that worked at the clinic came up, but got their DoorDash from the door where it was set down and walked to the back. Ignored myself and another gentleman at the front that had intake documents. About 15 minutes passed and another worker came to the front, only because someone had pressed the button to be let into the clinic. I stopped her and let her know I was finished with my paperwork and the others had handed her their clipboards as well. Customer service from the main lobby can be improved.
Experiencia negativa: Ya know. When I call the only open vet in town at this time of day and am told they don’t remove ticks because it’s not an emergency (ignoring the fatal diseases they cause) and actually told me to google tick removal. been there done that. but when i called back they said to bring my pet, so i did, they got it off in 2 seconds, like i said they would, but still charged me $110 for an emergency exam when it’s really simple. if you care about animals like you claim you do, and not about profit, it really shouldn’t have been a $110 bill. If y’all are gonna take responsibility in being a vet that’s the only one open at certain times, then you should offer for options for people who don’t have any other choice.
Experiencia fantástica: Nobody wants to be here with their pet, but the staff was so comforting and professional. We had to leave our pup and they took such good care of her.
Experiencia fantástica: My little buddy Charlie hurt his leg playing with our bigger dog Dakota, we called the animal hospital at 4:am Sunday morning after he woke up screaming in pain. It was amazing to find out they were the only 24/7 animal hospital within 100's of miles open on Sunday, let alone at 4am. We took him in, they were so nice and were able to see him right away. The staff were so professional. The hospital was clean and spotless. They took such good care of him, took some x-rays of his leg, and explained to us what they found and Further more, they prescribed and filled his medications right there. I would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone I know. Thankyou guys for taking care of our baby.
Experiencia fantástica: Was not a good day as our 14 year old lab (Lady) was not doing well. Her cancer was winning. The staff was compassionate and let us know that is was time to let her go. They were professional and very sympathetic to our feelings.
Experiencia fantástica: It was a tough night for the Dr today. Had to put my sweet girl down unexpectedly. They were very professional and compassionate. Gave us the time we needed and they were so gentle with my baby. Nobody should have to go through this, but im thankful to the Dr and the staff for making this process a little more bearable. Thank you.
Experiencia fantástica: For how shitty Clovis NM is and surrounding areas.. I shot them a call at like 1am, they answered! And my 2 month old puppy apparently got into Weed somehow, someone in my house was cleaning up and dropped some, very stupid! But this hospital cared so much, even when they was giving Cotton his shots! This is the only place in a long time that really really cares about your pet! God bless this place so much!! Definitely worth the drive! He’s way more active now and gonna live a healthy life! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart
Experiencia negativa: I just seen where someone tried to help a Liberian husky that was hit by a car. Took their time to ensure that this dog got the help it needed but they refused to help this dog that was hit by a car bc there were no money to pay. The dog has no money and your going to turn it away. Your refusing to help this dog so it has to suffer in pain and possibly die. So you being a vet clinic taking care of small animals but money is more important than the animal.
Experiencia negativa: My experience at this emergency clinic was devastating—not just because my dog died, but because of the way it was handled. We spent 5 hours in a room, during which time we were left in limbo for up to an hour every time the vet or the tech left the room. According to the office notes, surgery was then delayed further with no clear justification and there was a large gap in post-operative care where my dog went 4 hours without being checked on without explanation. Dr. Windsor’s handling of the situation raised serious ethical concerns. She documented false information in the medical records—claiming I knowingly delayed my dog’s care by asking to tell him bye before I left the office, among other things—which did not happen. These inaccuracies seemed aimed at shifting blame onto me rather than acknowledging their own delays and communication failures. I tried to follow up with the office manager, who initially seemed empathetic, but I haven't heard back in over 2 weeks. If this clinic is struggling with staffing or internal processes, that needs to be addressed—not hidden behind unethical documentation practices.
Experiencia fantástica: Our Jeff was Attacked we thought he was gonna die, they acted quick and gave us options and helped us heal our guy. So caring and compassionate and didn't take us to the bank. Thank you so much!
Experiencia negativa: Tonight my spouse and I took our dog to the emergency clinic due to an infection in her left cheek. They took our dog back while doing procedures with us in the next room we were the only ones in the clinic. We kept hearing gagging noises from the doctor and nurses saying it stinks and also hearing our dog screaming in pain hearing the doctor say THATS ENOUGH! WE DIDN’T TOUCH YOU! my spouse and I thought they were being very disrespectful. The doctor that was treating our dog was unprofessional herself the name is Dr.Fann. I do feel bad for other animals that are getting mistreated and disrespected by her and other nurses. Our animals should be treated equally as we do when being treated at a regular doctor they need to be treated with the same respect as we do, you work in a hospital to help not to be immature and disrespectful. This is an emergency clinic where we depend on everyone do BETTER!
Experiencia fantástica: The team was professional and caring and i was so grateful that you were able to see us on the spot with our Millie. Thank you so much for the support and love you guys gave.
Experiencia fantástica: Dr Allison Drew and her team on the night of October 2nd, 2024 miraculously saved my 3 year old yorkie’s life. I had just finished working a 12 hour shift only to come home to my baby unresponsive, cold, blue, and barely breathing. I frantically rushed her to this Vet office where within minutes of arriving they began CPR and life saving measures. The staff kindly and compassionately kept me informed of everything. Dr Drew and her team cared for CiCi like she was one of their own. After CPR, multiple shocks from the defibrillator, an EGD, blood transfusions, emergent surgery that left her tiny little abdomen split from top to bottom, lots of IV fluids and electrolytes, being on the ventilator, being transported each day for 5 days at 7am and 7pm between the ER and her regular Vet, going back and forth to stay with Cici just praying that she wakes up, getting very little sleep, and hearing from cici’s vet that it’s not looking good… Dr Drew called me with the greatest news: CICI IS AWAKE! I rushed back up there and little cici was so excited to see me, but not as excited as I was to see her!!! Her primary Dr couldn’t believe it! He basically told me to give up, meanwhile, Dr Drew continued to give me glimmers of hope that PAID OFF! CiCi had to do a few weeks of therapy to regain her strength to walk again but I am proud to say that CiCi is doing great today and has made a full recovery! If it weren’t for Dr Drew and team and her quick thinking/acting, compassion, and dedication, CiCi wouldn’t be here today. As far as payment, as with anything in medicine, human or veterinary, it was not as painful as I thought it would be. I cannot thank them enough for saving my baby’s life. DR DREW and her staff are THE BEST!!!
Experiencia negativa: This is the WORST emergency animal clinic ever! I had to take my family’s dog here after a choking episode that led into becoming lethargic and gasping. Once we arrived we waited 30 minutes before talking with anyone. I had informed them hours before she drank a little toilet water (fresh blue in it)but immediately had her drink plenty of water to dilute any chemical. Informed also she had a treat prior to choking and may have something lodged. They took her from us and had me call poison control (65 minutes on phone) they come back to me for poison control verdict….. fast forward, vet informs me she has checked for lodging of treat etc and nothing was found. Gave her a shot for nausea and a pill to soothe her belly and sent her home!!! I received notes via email. They LIED TO ME & on her paperwork, no X-rays were done, no blood work no offer to keep over night etc reported ALL WAS NORMAL. WELL unfortunately all was not normal!!! Our girl died within hours of returning home. NOW I was left to call my adult children in another state plus tell my grandchildren the vet did not do their job and our girl has passed. I would not recommend this vet to anyone!! I am appalled at the way I as the person and my kid’s beloved dog were treated or shall I say LACK THERE OF! Beware if you love your animal I would avoid this place!
Experiencia fantástica: I am so grateful there’s a place in our area where we can receive quality veterinary care after-hours and on weekends. What a lifesaver for our pets - literally. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and takes good care of our fur babies.
Experiencia fantástica: This emergency animal clinic was amazing and the staff are so kind. We had to drive almost two hours for our puppy to get checked because she was attacked. Unfortunately, she did not make it but they did everything possible to make us comfortable as well as her. They truly do everything they can for your pet and that’s all you can ever ask for. Although it costs us over $500 for the visit, X-rays, anesthesia, and I believe some other stuff, it truly is all worth it to try and save your pet and make them feel as comfortable as possible. I can’t thank the staff enough for doing what they could and honoring her memory. Adding a photo of her since she was so young and just so sweet.
Experiencia negativa: I called to ask if they were open because this seemed to be the closest emergency clinic open and the person who answered was extremely rude and saying bill must be paid in full at time of service. I said ok I told them someone was helping me get my dog into my vehicle that I would need help getting him in to the clinic. I called when I was turning into the parking lot and asked if someone could help me she said when you get here and fill out paperwork, I asked so you aren't going to help my dog until I fill out paperwork? She said just call when you're here i said I am i need help that the person who helped me get him in the truck isn't here. I parked and waited noone came. I had injured my hand in a car accident is why I needed so much help. Anyway I tried picking him up and getting him inside still noone came, I was able to hold him up enough he leaned on me that i made it to the doorbell still noone came or answered the door . My son-in-law got there and was able to pick him up, I did re-injure my hand in the process. The person who finally let us in was extremely rude. All they cared about was making sure I was going to pay the bill and fill out the paperwork. I have never owed this place money nor do i have unpaid vet bills anywhere. They took him to the back and said he was dehydrated that he must have had a seizure. He had never had issues before. We assumed they were treating him because he was in such bad shape out of nowhere. We could hear people laughing and talking in the back. Also there were no people waiting in the lobby nor could we tell other patients were there since there were no other cars when I pulled up. A lady came in with a bill close to $500 again we are thinking he's being treated because they said he's so dehydrated from a possible seizure. Ok that's fine whatever he needs, she's like it has to be paid today I was like yes I understand. Still we think he is being treated. Then they come back and say we need to monitor him for 24 hrs and bring in another bill for over $1,200.00 i was like I can't pay that today. Up to this point we are thinking he's being treated for dehydration because they had already brought in a bill. Turns out my dog was just lying back there the whole time. Then when they bring him to me to take home he is worse then when I took him in. They had me pay the bill they brought in 1st before they brought my dog back to me. Now they express concern about dehydration wanting me to pay the more expensive bill. Telling me to keep him in a cool place. My son-in-law helps me get my dog back home. Not even 5 minutes after we get home my dog passed away. This place doesn't care about the animals only getting paid for doing NOTHING.
