Experiencia negativa: Had a great experience the first time I took my cat in that had to end up being euthanized. Lovely caring Dr. And Staff! I will be sure to mention their names with the best compliments when I find out their names. Then, when i came back they were different Drs and staff and I had the worst experience! They let my cat gasp and suffer a slow agonizing death! They left us in the room for over 40 minutes! Then one of the assistants took my baby and placed her between her knees squeezing her(while she was already gasping for air and she was crying and suffocation!. The Dr. FINALLY came in after I had to buzz the bell 2 or 3 times and took over 20 more minutes sticking her vain with different sized needles!!!! Over and over because she said she said and could not see!!! Then got pissed and asked me do I want her to stop!?!?!?!!!!. I begged them to give her the injection to put her out and then do the IV. (Like they did the last time I was there) They said to save her would cost almost $4,000.00 for a simple virus!!. They get millions in donations so they can save the less fortunate. They never use those donations to save any animals life! If you don't have money, they will let you sit there and watch your baby suffer and gasp for air! Please do not donate to these places! I was told Euthanasia was 220. But I'm always charged $320! Most of them Drs had to have BARELY graduated! Or have a fake license. They charged me $500 for exam and the smallest bottle of antibiotic I've ever seen! I eventually took her to med vet where they properly diagnose her. VEG was clueless. But med vet was terrible too.

Experiencia fantástica: The VEG team went above and beyond to care for my pet Taco. Theresa and Cameron both helped transport him with oxygen to Medvet and we appreciated their urgency and kindness. Dr. Zenola was transparent, compassionate and knowledgeable. We know are pets will be in great hands here if ever needed again.

Experiencia fantástica: I had to come here today for the worst possible reason, to say goodbye to my best friend in the whole world. The staff was perfection in every way. Professional, direct, kind, thoughtful, human, and informative. They gave me every second of time I needed except for the ones I can't get back. Special shout out to Dr. Nick who guided me through it all. Good man, great vet, amazing human. Goodbye, my Bubbakoo, my best orange boy in the world.

Experiencia fantástica: Our cat began stumbling one evening and I was concerned about a possible stroke. We took her in to VEG ER and they took care of us promptly. Our care team was wonderful and explained everything they were doing, they were very patient and kind with us and our baby.

Experiencia fantástica: Lulu & I had such a great experience here the other night. We were in and out in an hour, the staff was attentive and extremely helpful! Hoping we don’t have to ever visit the vet ED again, but if we do, this is where we will go! Thank you so much again.

Experiencia fantástica: VEG was the absolute, most wonderful place we’ve ever taken any of our animals to. We were immediately welcomed into the front door and staff started caring for our baby girl right away. We took our sweet Luna there because she couldn’t use her back legs suddenly. After Dr. Amanda (apologies I can’t remember her last name) and her team examined her, it was decided that she had late stage IVDD. She was paralyzed from her shoulder blades, down. They mentioned surgery but the recovery and the pain she was already in was too much we did not want to put her through all of that. She was unable to urinate for 24 hours. Dr. Amanda tried manually expressing her bladder but it wasn’t working and Luna was in pain. They offered to do an ultrasound using a needle to relieve her bladder free of charge. They even gave her pain medication free of charge I believe. We ultimately decided the most humane option would be euthanasia. They allowed us to bring Luna home to spend time with her brother and her family. Dr. Amanda said she’d be there until 9:30 if we wanted to come back then. We decided that would be the best option because we didn’t want to risk Luna needing to urinate again and causing more damage if we couldn’t manually express it at home. She was already in so much pain. When we came back, Dr. Amanda immediately came into the private room with us. She was so attentive and calming during the entire experience. All of the staff were just so wonderful we couldn’t have asked for a better group to surround us while going through one of the hardest challenges of our life. After Luna had passed, we left in a hurry and I remembered the morning after that they mentioned they’d do a fur clipping, nose and paw print free of charge. I panicked thinking we had left too soon but thankfully the staff had it waiting for us at the front desk. They even made sure to include one of her curly pieces of hair which were my absolute favorite. I’ve started a memory shadow box for our baby girl and it’s the best addition. Although the experience losing Luna and the reason we were there was awful, the staff made it so much easier. If any of our other pets have an emergency in the future god forbid, this is the very place we’ll go to first and will recommend them to every single pet parent we know. To the staff at VEG, thank you for everything from the bottom of our heart.

Experiencia fantástica: Most rabbit owners will understand the struggle of finding experienced veterinary care for their bunnies. For this reason, it was especially scary when my rabbit began showing signs of GI stasis on the one day that her primary vet’s office was closed. I chose VEG ER based on the internet’s suggestion, and I am so glad I did. Everybody we met during our visit was phenomenal and I felt like my rabbit was in the best of hands throughout. It is very clear that the staff truly loves animals and wants to provide them with the greatest care. The open concept of the facility was very inviting, and I greatly appreciated being invited to stay with my pet at every stage of the visit. I will definitely be recommending this place to my pet-owning friends.

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot begin to express how grateful I am to have found VEG. Last night we had to let our hedgehog, Bluebelle go. She was very sick. Everyone there was incredibly compassionate and gave us all the time we needed with our baby. At the end, they gave us paw and nose prints to remember her by. Thank you so much.

Experiencia fantástica: My dog started coughing and having trouble breathing on a weekend. I brought her to VEG and the staff were so kind and knowledgable. They greeted me at the door and started examining her right away. It's an open concept treatment area, which I've never experienced before. You get to stay with your pet while they work. I liked it a lot better than other ER vets, where your pet goes into the back and you sit in the waiting room stressing out. That said, they do have rooms there so the option for some privacy is there. Dr. Jessica C was so warm and put me at ease. Within minutes the team had done an ultrasound, collected blood, and started her on meds to calm her down. Daisy ended up having pneumonia and needed to stay overnight in an oxygen tent. Dr. C kept me updated and encouraged me to visit anytime. Everyone there was great, from the vet techs to the support staff who asked if I needed anything. Fortunately, Daisy was much better the next day and is now home. It was very pricey, but I know ER vets are. And it was worth it to have Daisy back. Also, the clinic is spotless and there's a snack cart :).

Experiencia fantástica: I unfortunately had to take my 17 and a half year old kitty in for euthanasia on Sunday. Everyone who spoke with me and helped him was so kind to us. They brought us into a private room, dimmed the lights and gave us as much time as we needed before they came and inserted his iv catheter. They told us take as much time as we needed and told us to press a button when we were ready for them to come in and begin the euthanasia process. I took what felt like forever until I had my partner press the button for me, and the vet who came in to administer the medicine explained everything thoroughly to me and asked if I had any questions before beginning. She let me hold him in my lap as I said goodbye, something I was not able to do with my first kitty euthanasia. She was on her knees in front of the couch I sat on and asked for permission to begin the process even though the button had been pressed already, which I appreciate so much instead of rushing into it. I was really happy to get to hold him for this process as said before I didn't get to hold my other kitty or even see her when her heart stopped at a different vet's office (Cherry Grove) They did free paw print and nose printing after I said my goodbye and offered to do fur clippings as well but I had already ordered that from the place I had him cremated at. Thank you so much for giving me a better experience than my first, I was glad to have picked this place for my goodbye and will recommend it to anyone who unfortunately may need it.

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my cat in on Sunday at 4pm for serious swelling, discharge, and slim to no appetite. As soon as I walked in, Ragetti was evaluated and had a set course of action. Even with the triage patients coming in, they constantly checked in on me and my cat regularly to make sure everything was okay. They managed to get him the literal life-saving medication he needed even though my funds were low. I absolutely love them and appreciate everything they did for us that night. The staff were absolutely amazing. They were kind and caring about Ragetti's situations, and even dealt with my rambling about what happened. I seriously couldn't have asked for more patient and understanding staff members If you have an emergency, or even just a concern, they're the people to call/see. I can't recommend this Vet ER enough ❤️

Experiencia fantástica: Very clean Almost no waitingtimes -kind, considerate, super knowledgeable staff the fastest cleanest phlebotomy I may have ever seen wish they worked on a human. Open floor plan or private rooms that allow me to stay with my pet the entire time, fast and easy full blood tests and results. Gentle patient animal handlers. They also offered me snacks and coffee. Totally impressed. Nobody wants to go to the emergency vet, but if I have to, I’m coming back to this one.

Experiencia fantástica: The entire team was extremely friendly and accommodating, very forthcoming with information. Absolutely loved the open layout and our ability to stay with our boy at all (safe) times. Nothing but a good experience from everyone we interacted with! If we could have them as our normal primary veterinarians we would!

Experiencia fantástica: I do not know how to explain that everyone who we came in contact with was the best. It was one of the hardest days my family has went through and the care and compassion we was meet with meant the world to me. We had to say goodbye to our family dog, but she was also my daughter's best friend. The vet allowed my daughter to hold her dog the whole time and explained everything to my daughter with complete compassion. I personally would like to thank every staff member starting with the gentlemen who answered the phone when I called lost at what to do, he walked me through everything and told me just get here, we can worry about details later. I truly appreciate and would recommend 100 times over.

Experiencia fantástica: Got us in and started checking our cat on the table immediately. The technicians were sweet with him and the doctor was knowledgeable and listened thoughtfully to our concerns. They provided multiple investigative options and were fully transparent about what we would gain/lose diagnostically at each price point. I highly recommend this as a 24/hour emergency vet clinic for anyone in the area!

Experiencia fantástica: I had been taking my cat Wow, to a vet in NKY (Walton) and had been told multiple times that he did not have a blockage. It was probably an issue caused by a dislocated hip. Because he looked healthy it was assumed he fine. Right before the snowstorm I took him to the vet again. This visit he did have a blockage that the vet was unable to treat. Then the places that were recommended in NKY that I called said they were not able to do the treatment. This was the last place I called. From the phone call to Hannah, to Dr Johnstone and Andrea that assisted with the services took control quickly. It was a stressful day for multiple reasons and they did their best to accommodate and take charge of the situation. For me and Wow it was a good experience. I’ve never been to a facility that encouraged you to be involved as your pet treatment is taking place. I was impressed by everyone and the care given.

Experiencia fantástica: I have nothing but good things to say about this establishment and its staff. I brought my cat there last night because he was vomiting and acting very unlike himself. Everyone I interacted with was caring and professional. They were able to look at my cat immediately and access the situation. There were patients being seen that were in critical condition, so I understood once the staff made sure my cat was stable that my case would be triaged. More serious situations will be addressed with more urgency and I’m glad to know that! The room the brought me back to was very calm and quiet. They have a couch and a dim lighting if you want it. I feel a lot of peace and reassurance knowing that VEG exists and that there is somewhere I can go should there ever be an emergency in the future. Thank you everyone

Experiencia fantástica: These professionals are simply amazing!!! Today was my first experience there & I can’t say enough good things. My cat & I spent a significant amount of time with them today due to a urinary blockage, mostly because my usually sweet boy was terrified & (violently) fighting everything sedative they tried. Literally every single person I spoke with was kind, accommodating, helpful, informative, & compassionate to both my cat & I. I hope we never have to go back , but I am SO grateful knowing they are close & available if we ever need them again. I can’t thank them enough.

Experiencia fantástica: This is a hard review to write. I lost my best friend here last night, but the care I received went far beyond words. The staff treated me with genuine compassion and understanding, taking the time to make sure I was okay during one of the hardest moments of my life. Money has been extremely tight, and instead of rushing me, they sat on the floor with me while I broke down and reminded me that they truly cared—not just about my cat, but about my partner and me as well. I have never felt so supported or at peace with such an impossible decision. What you provide in moments like this is an incredible service. You make people and their pets feel like they truly matter. I couldn’t bring myself to take my boy home that night. When I returned the next morning, even with a different group of doctors and nurses, they knew who I was and why I was there the moment I walked in. That level of compassion and continuity meant everything to me. Thank you for the kindness, dignity, and humanity you showed when I needed it most. P.S. - Colleen and Dr. Hart are both amazing human beings and you are lucky to have them both.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Pool was amazing, took her time to explain everything and gave us a discount for me working in vet med. The assistant who did rads was also amazing, super funny and friendly. Overall we felt way less stressed and knew Nuggie was in the best hands. It was better than any other ER visit we have had to make!

Experiencia negativa: My experience was disappointing and not helpful whatsoever, the tech and the vet were not confident or thorough in their work. Stumbled around with their words. Just seemed unprofessional especially for the cost. Hopefully there's nothing serious going on with my girl and she can see her regular vet after the weekend.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Rangel and staff (sorry don't remember everyone's name)were great. They helped ease my mind with everything going on with our Sasha. Very informative and explaining everything that was going on. Answering our questions and concerns. Helping us and being able to be with her thru out the ordeal of care and surgery. ❤️❤️ Here she is after drain removal. Graduated from t-shirt to an outfit. Keeping stitches covered, and shaved area warmer. Can't thank them enough.

Experiencia fantástica: I'd give more stars if I could for them. This is my first encounter with VEG. From my understanding they are walk in only, so call ahead to talk, but no appointments required here. My boy Morpheus needed some attention, and they got right to him this weekend. Let me speak first on the attention to detail in here. You'll come in the door stressed maybe crying worried, & you'll hear "I have a new patient", then the entire team responds to that person saying 'Thank you'. They are all alert for one another, and on top game in here. They are going to speak to you with such care during stressful moments, and financial worry, like you are family and help get you through every single moment. They allow you with your pet every step of the way reassuring you and informing you of whats going on. During shift changes, the doctor calls you with updates. They make every dollar spent in care here worth it times infinity to help save your little one in a crisis. They offer you drinks and snacks, because they know you're probably stressing yourself sick with worry (like I did) over your loved one visiting them for care. The facility stays clean, comfortable, and safe. The way they treat your animal? Words for me cannot start to describe the amazing care they provided my boy. They walk in to that room like that's been their own pet at home and give the upmost care anyone could ask for. Its like a team of angels working in this place and I'm very grateful for all the team did for by boy Morph to get him back home and comfortable with me. Thank you, to the entire team the moment I walked into the door on every shift truly.

Experiencia fantástica: Very honest and clear diagnosis, prognosis, options, pricing, etc. and excellent care. They took great care of our bunny, and after a whole lot work she recovered. I got to hear a lot of other people move in and out of this office and they treated everyone very well. Thank you very much to everyone who worked on Matcha over the past few days. I’m so glad we have such a great 24/7 exotic vet nearby now, it’s a lot of peace of mind.

Experiencia fantástica: I am incredibly grateful to the entire VEG team for the compassion, persistence, and care they showed my puppy and me over several very difficult days. While we were ultimately unable to save her and had to make the heartbreaking decision to let her go, I never once doubted that every possible effort was made on her behalf. The kindness shown by every single person I encountered was truly remarkable. I was especially thankful that I was able to stay with my puppy overnight, which meant more than I can put into words. During one of the most devastating experiences of my life, the team treated both my puppy and me with dignity, empathy, and genuine care. It takes truly special people to do this work and to give animals the love and respect they deserve, even in the hardest moments. I will always be thankful for this team.

Experiencia fantástica: VEG was amazing, very professional and put us at ease while they were working with our dog. We were there on Christmas Eve and the place was fully staffed and very busy. I’ve added them to my contacts in the event we need emergency services again. They did amazing work. They’re open environment which let us see that we were in the right place at the right time. Just like a regular hospital emergency room. There was a cat brought in in perilous condition. Three of veterinarians staffed took control in an emergent situation. I wasn’t stuck in a room, wondering where anybody was. I could see things going on around me and understood. The level of my situation had already been triaged. In comparison with emergency level coming in, it made me feel comfortable knowing that if I had been the person in that lady’s pet shape, my pet would have been pushed to the top of the line. This clinic is amazing.

Experiencia fantástica: We had an incredible experience with the Veterinary Emergency Group. Our dog passed unexpectedly at home recently, and from our initial frantic phone call to consoling us as we talked through options to providing us after life care, they were such a comfort and so genuine and caring for us, particularly Teresa. Truly made a difference in our lives and in our goodbye!

Experiencia fantástica: We (unfortunately) made two visits to the ER this week with two different dogs. We saw Dr. Schoonmaker on Saturday morning and Dr. Newhouse on New Year’s Eve. Both vets were compassionate and caring as well as all of the staff we encountered. I was particularly impressed with everyone during our visit on New Year’s Eve. They were very busy with minor cases to critical cases. They had their hands full. It was almost like a MASH unit. We loved the fact we could stay with our pups the entire time. We hope we don’t have to visit anytime in the near future, but will go back, with confidence, if we need them.

Experiencia fantástica: Great emergency vet care for our dog in a very serious and scary emergency. We’ve had to use other emergency medical vet services in the past , but based on our experience with VEG - they will be our first choice! The Dr and nurses were wonderful and we were able to stay with our pet the entire time! We always knew his status and there was complete transparency in the cost. No surprises! We would highly recommend this geoup

Experiencia fantástica: Every single person that I came in contact with was amazing. We came in on New Years Eve pretty late with a severely injured goose(yes a pet goose). They triaged her immediately, got her pain meds on board and made us comfortable. We saw so many people coming and going, all with some kind of emergency, and even through heartache and happiness everyone was content. Everyone was taken care of. We were treated with such kindness and compassion. We had to let our Goosey go and that was even made easy and with such care. Thank you so much from my family & I. As hard as it was to let Goose go you made it bearable. She was a special girl

Experiencia fantástica: Let me just start by saying this is my third encounter with VEG and they have been wonderful every time. We had a few scares with our dog eating things that he shouldn’t and this day was no exception. I brought my 2 yo. Golden Retriever, Gus here a few days ago. I was sewing a button onto my son’s shirt and accidentally knocked the needle and thread onto the floor without initially realizing it. Of course, Gus being a golden retriever decided that it would be a delicious snack. I immediately called VEG, knowing that it would likely be dangerous to have him bring it back up. I called and spoke with Sarah on the phone (who was very kind) to let her know that I was coming. When I arrived, Jon checked us in. He was very friendly. Theresa and Hannah (nurses) immediately brought us back and spoke to us about how Gus was doing. They were kind, caring, compassionate, and prompt. They talked me through every procedure and encouraged me to be involved as much as I wanted to be. I did not have to leave his side the entire time he was there. I believe there was another nurse named Erica as well. She was very kind and knowledgeable, too. Dr. Schoonmaker was our vet that day. He clearly discussed options about what the safest course of treatment would be, along with a transparent estimate of potential costs. We decided to start with x-rays to see if the needle had left his stomach. Luckily, it hadn’t left his stomach yet, and they were able to retrieve it via endoscopy! It’s never fun to have to bring your pet in for something like this, but they made the experience as “enjoyable” as it could possibly be. I’ve never been in a more caring environment with my pets. I know it made my dog much more comfortable being able to be with me the entire time, too. I wouldn’t hesitate bringing him back here again. Thank you again for the compassionate care:) Gus was one lucky pup that day!

Experiencia negativa: I would like to start off by saying that I am not looking for any sort of defensive response toward my review. I brought my cat in on 12/18 due to her being obviously sick. The person on the phone, as well as the staff that night were extremely kind, quick, and patient. I don’t want to discredit the first doctor I saw and the experience they provided me and my cat. I was told that my cat had a fever and some sort of infection based on the bloodwork they did. I was then offered the option to do additional testing for anywhere from 1,000-2,000 dollars or give her fluids and antibiotics (plus the basic bloodwork I mentioned above) which would cost about 850. I opted to do fluids and antibiotics and follow up with her primary vet a few days later. That night, the doctor asked me if I knew about feline corona virus and explained that it could lead to complications (my boyfriend and I have no recollection of FIP being mentioned but it is in our records that it was explained to us) I took my cat to her primary vet on 12/20 and her fever was gone, but she still looked rough. My primary vet explained FIP to us, that it is often fatal within 10 days, and that if she doesn’t continue to improve that they would look into FIP next. He also said it is extremely difficult to diagnose and that treatment is extremely expensive. After seeing my primary vet, I called VEG back to ask about the antibiotics they had given her. The doctor I spoke with (a different one from our original visit) told me that based on her age and bloodwork there was A 92% CHANCE SHE HAD FIP. To me that means it’s a done deal. As I’m sobbing on the phone she continues to tell me that I need to bring her back in if it is in fact FIP for palliative care. She also tells me to get in contact with FIP Warrior on Facebook and try to get treatment for it. I called my primary vet and told them what the doctor at VEG had told me over the phone and he said he didn’t know why I was told that, and that there is no definitive way to diagnose FIP based on bloodwork. Telling me that information and being right is one thing, but spreading misinformation over the phone when she hadn’t even seen my cat is why I’m bothered. From what I understand, the bloodwork would’ve been consistent with many different feline illnesses (which a quick google search can confirm). 2 weeks later, my cat is thankfully recovered from her mysterious infection.

Experiencia negativa: The staff was friendly and we were able to be seen quickly by Dr. Abby Hart, but overall we felt misled and disappointed by our experience. We brought in our pet duck after noticing what appeared to be a broken wing. Because ducks are an unusual pet, we called ahead and clearly explained the situation. We were told that VEG does treat ducks and that they could see her. After bringing her in, she was examined, X-rays were taken, and she was given pain relief medication. We were then told that she did have a broken wing, but that they do not treat birds with broken wings. We were charged $985 to be told they couldn’t help us with the condition we specifically called about in advance. While the cost was frustrating, the bigger issue was the lost time. We spent an entire day seeking care, only to have to start over the next day trying to find a veterinarian who could actually treat her. I wish we had been told upfront that this was outside their scope of care so we could have gone directly to the appropriate provider. I feel this was an unethical business practice.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Johnstone is an extremely impressive doctor. She provided compassionate, yet realistic, guidance to my mom who had to make one of the toughest decisions last week. Though we had to put a beloved pet down, the situation was handled as peacefully and caring as it could have been. The entire staff is truly incredible, and I hope they know they are valued very deeply by their patients and customers. Also, thank you Hannah for the hand written sympathy card. It meant very much to my family.

Experiencia fantástica: Today, Sunday, I knew my 15 year old dorgi, Jake, was near the end. They got us in and treated us with such compassion and kindness. Our sweet boy had cancer, and we needed to end his suffering. They treated him to an all you can eat buffet of whipped cream, gave us all the time we needed, and made a really difficult day a little easier.

Experiencia fantástica: Listen , it’s going to be expensive. I brought in my semi feral cat for a lame back leg. Turns out it was a cat bite. They cleaned him up, gave him shots and it cost $700. But they will go over the bill with you and only do what is necessary. You can call me an idiot for spending that much on a semi feral cat but it’s the best $700 I have ever spent. Thank you VEG, that gut punch in my stomach the past couple days from worrying is gone. Hopefully I’ll never be back but if this happens again I will only go to VEG for my pet emergency care .

Experiencia fantástica: I can’t say enough wonderful things about this Emergency Vet Clinic. We brought our cat Blu in after finding that he had ingested dental floss. We had come from waiting over 10 hours in a different emergency vet clinic without him being seen and were exhausted. Dr. Jazmine Rangel and Dr. Jessica Williams as well as their staff worked promptly and quickly to diagnose the problem and get Blu the care he needed. Within only an hour we had spoken with the team and had a plan for treatment. They kept us well informed while we waited, checking in to see if we needed anything and to let us know when shift changes were happening. The office has an open concept that allowed us to see what was being done to our cat and sit with him while he waited for/ received treatment. If we ever have another emergency with our animals, this will be the only clinic I head to. Thank you so much VEG for the amazing care.

Experiencia fantástica: I just have to share that I had a great experience with VEG with my mini schnauzer, Jeter!! He got ahold of a chicken bone and I found the 24 hr hospital via the internet and I’m so thankful I did!! Dr. Jazmine and her staff made Jeter and I feel like everything was going to be okay.. and it was!! I will definitely be back if an emergency arises!! #GreatStaff&GreatCare #DarnBone

Experiencia fantástica: VEG is the best place to go for emergency vet care. The staff immediately put me at ease, and everyone was so considerate and kind. The triage process and pricking are both organized and transparent. Most importantly they took great care of my dog.

Experiencia fantástica: My experience with VEG was positive. The staff and Dr. Jazmine Rangel were professional and kind. I had expressed concerns with my dog experiencing lethargy and was immediately attended. After completing bloodwork, it was concluded that my dog was likely experiencing side effects from a medication. For those commenting on the costs, I completely understand that it can get expensive and definitely recommend getting pet insurance to help with the costs.

Experiencia fantástica: I needed an emergency vet right away when I came home and my dog was experiencing a seizure. I called and informed them what I was experiencing and was told to come right away. They sent me a link to fill out demographic info for my dog before my arrival. They saw my dog as soon as I got there and calmed her seizure down. Unfortunately I wasn't able to bring my dog back home that night. I was devastated and heartbroken. However, the staff was comforting and attentive. They made sure we had things we needed. When we had questions about my dog they came right away and showed her the attention that was needed. When it was time to talk about end of life services they gave us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes. I am glad I had chosen this remarkable facility. Thank you VEG ER for Pets for the card that was sent to my home expressing condolences. I would definitely recommend you all to all pet families.

Experiencia fantástica: Our dog woke up at 3:00AM with concerning symptoms and unable to stand or walk, so I called the VEG and was able to speak with the veterinarian within a few minutes and advised to bring my dog in and once I arrived at the emergency room the team there began immediately began observation and diagnostic procedures. Within 10 minutes the Doctor on duty Dr. McKenna was available and began diagnosing my Dog and communicating with me what her findings were and what procedures needed to be be done onsite and had a professional care plan for me to take home. In about an hour I was able to take my dog home and she’s comfortable and resting. A diet was recommended consisting of chicken and rice and a follow up observation of what to look for and advised to come back if needed.

Experiencia negativa: I'm going to give a couple of stars because I got really great care for my cat 1.5 years ago when I took him for a urinary blockage, although it did take 2 visits over the span of 3 days for the team to figure out he was blocked and not just suffering from cystitis. Cut to another blockage situation this past weekend; took my buddy straight in and was perplexed by how empty it was for a Sunday; last time the place was jammed packed. Basic exam, taken to a room to start service and was given the estimate; almost DOUBLE the cost of the previous visit! How does the cost go up from $4000 (which I thought was high then) for up to a 3 day stay to $6800 for 48 hours?? (My cat pulled his cath on the first visit so I paid less than $4000.) Needless to say I had to seek help elsewhere and will now drive the extra miles to go to a local hospital that was $4000 less than what they quoted. Learned a lesson.

Experiencia fantástica: *This review is late, but the past few months have been hectic.* On 8/31/25, my daughter, Lexie brought her rabbit, Oreo here because he was limping & wasn’t putting weight on his hind leg and our regular vet was closed. A little backstory: In 2020 during the Covid outbreak/quarantine, we decided to help Ohio Pet Sanctuary in which her other rabbit, Ash was adopted from. We got a call asking if we could foster a rabbit found abandoned in a park by his owner & it was attacked and had damage to his nose. We picked him up & fell in love! Typically, an animal that is thrown out & attacked would not be trusting of people, which is understandable, but not Oreo! He was the sweetest baby & loved everyone that would give him any attention. So, when he was no longer putting any weight on his hind leg, we knew something was wrong so that is why she brought him here. She & Oreo spent the entire day here & they found that his hind leg was broken. They took very good care of him & sent him home with meds & told her to take him to his regular vet the following day. Lexie called the vet first thing & they told us that his break was bad & they referred us to the Erlanger Vet Hospital which we took him to & sadly Oreo passed during surgery which we found out he had cancer which is the reason the break was so bad. Highly recommend this group of doctors & their entire staff for tending to our baby!

Experiencia fantástica: I went in on Thanksgiving day due to my family cat needing immediate veterinary care & limited options. I am so glad I chose here- the staff were so kind & communicative. Specifically, Dr. Holly was so so sweet to both me & my family cat. The environment was clean and friendly, and despite the volume of animals, so efficient! I would absolutely recommend VEG to anyone in a quick crisis. I hope to not be back, but if I have to, I know any of my animals are in good hands. :)

Experiencia fantástica: This group is truly exceptional. I was dealing with severe diarrhea and digestive issues in my kitten back in August. His symptoms had worsened over one weekend, so I searched online for emergency vet clinics and called this office for advice. One of the veterinarians was incredibly kind and spoke with me over the phone, recommending that I bring him in for an evaluation. They allowed me to stay with him while they took his vitals. Because of his stomach issues, he was very distressed and, unfortunately, made a mess in his carrier while we were in the waiting area. One of the assistants was very kind and cleaned my carrier and took us to a private room where my kitten could feel more comfortable. She even set him a litter box in case he had made another mess. I was very stressed about my kitten's condition because this was my first time dealing with something like this, but they reassured me throughout the entire process. They examined his stool sample, drew blood, and ran a few tests to determine why he was sick. Dr. April came in to review the results with me and developed a plan to help my kitten. She was clear and concise with explaining the findings and game plan to me. I truly appreciate how kind and supportive everyone at this clinic was. My kitten has improved significantly since seeing them, and I cannot thank them enough for their prompt attention and thorough diagnosis. I highly recommend them if you need urgent care for your pet.

Experiencia fantástica: I usually don’t leave reviews but I just have to say what a great experience we had at Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Cincinnati. From the moment we walked in we were treated kindly and within 10 minutes we had answers for our 9 year old dog Gus. He had a ruptured tumor on his spleen and needed emergency surgery if there was any hope of survival. We were told up front there was a high chance the tumor was cancerous. If cancerous he would have 1 to 3 months to live after surgery or if benign he would be cured. Luckily we had Dr. Hart that night who was truly amazing. She was optimistic about the surgery and the odds for Gus. I couldn’t not give our dog the chance knowing that there was chance he’d be just fine so we decided to do the surgery. I’m so thankful for Dr. Hart and everyone at VEG and I’m happy to say we had the best outcome. The tumor was benign. Gus just had his follow up with our regular veterinarian. He’s healed up perfectly and ready to spend another Christmas with his family. If your pet needs a trip to the ER vet I highly recommend VEG.

Experiencia fantástica: What a wonderful team of people! Colleen is a cat whisperer. Our outdoor cat didn’t love coming here but he let Colleen give him his medicine. The rest of the staff was equally as friendly and helpful but didn’t get everyone’s names.

Experiencia fantástica: We brought our kitty in after a dump truck of some sort clipped her back end out front of our home. They went into immediate action in making her as comfortable as possible with pain meds and having her examined for the extent of her injuries. We’ve been kept informed and involved through the entire process of her care and able to be with her throughout every step. They’ve been sweet, kind, supportive, and informative. If I ever need emergency vet care again, this will be my go to place.

It was SO reassuring to be able to spend 100% of my time there with my cat rather than just handing him to strangers and trusting that they’re caring for him. I hope to never need their services again, but will absolutely return if we have another medical emergency!

Experiencia fantástica: After learning our pittie, Ruger, was in need of emergency veterinary care, a friend recommended VEG, saying that we'd get to stay with Ruger. That was very attractive to me, so off to VEG we went. Ruger was seen pretty much right away, with the staff coming out to the waiting area (VEG has an open floor plan, which is pretty cool) to do all of the exams and most of the diagnostics, and Ruger got to stay right with Mommy and Daddy. Dr. Newsome explained everything to us in detail, and when it came to discuss the cost, both Dr. Newsome and Megan (at the front desk) were very cognizant of how expensive emergency veterinary care is, trying to keep costs down while providing the very best care to our sick pup. Ruger ended up needing surgery for an intestinal blockage, and we were kept up-to-date on everything. When we brought Ruger home, our regular vet was immediately sent a copy of Ruger's records, as were we. In those records were an itemized copy of the invoice and a very detailed report of every single thing they did to Ruger, right down to how many sponges they used in surgery! The care provided to Ruger and the service provided to us were top-of-the-line. I felt like we were treated like old friends, and Ruger was treated like the hospital mascot. I hope we never have to seek emergency veterinary care again, but if/when we do, we will most certainly take our dogs to VEG. They literally saved our pittie's life, and for that, I will ALWAYS be grateful!

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my 5-year-old guinea pig, Marnie in the other night when she was having trouble breathing and was very bloated. Upon arriving, the staff at VEG got to work on her right away. She was in critical condition, and they explained everything they were doing and why, were so gentle with her, and took such good care of ME as I was crying and worried about her. They consistently asked if I needed anything while I was waiting and let me ask as many questions as I needed. When they told me Marnie would need to spend the night, they told me they could set up one of their exam rooms as a little “hotel” room for me to stay with her if I wanted— I’ve never heard of an emergency vet offering that before. They let me hold her whenever possible and even offered to let me watch procedures. I picked Marnie up the next morning, but by the afternoon she still seemed off to me and wouldn’t eat. I brought her back to VEG that night and they were so kind. They listened to me and reexamined her, and remembered both her and me (and her guinea pig sister, Winnie) from the night before. I had feared the worst and on the drive there was mentally preparing myself to have to potentially make the decision to put her down. One of the vets (I don’t know anyone’s name, I’m so sorry— my brain was in panic mode most of the time) said to me that Marnie still seemed to be improving but said “if you’re worried, we’re worried”, which was SO affirming and kind. They also discounted the price of her second night’s stay as she had to come back within 24 hours. When I went to get her the next morning, she was SO much better and breathing almost normally. It has now been a couple of days, and Marnie is doing very well. She saw our family vet today and they were very pleased with her progress, especially from where she was a few nights ago. I just recently moved to Ohio and my Guinea girls are the only family I have here, and VEG fully saved my girl’s life. I am so so grateful to every single doctor, tech, and staff member for being so wonderful. I told them when we left the second day that, with love, I hope I never have to see any of them again, but if I do it’s so nice to know I have an emergency vet I can count on. I will say that as an emergency vet, it’s of course quite expensive, and I feel very fortunate that I was able to cover the costs of Marnie’s care, but that VEG was very transparent with the pricing the entire time. My heart goes out to anyone who has to make impossible choices for their babies and finances. Thank you so much to all of you! Marnie, Winnie, and I are so grateful and so happy to have our girl home.

A wonderful option for our needs

Experiencia negativa: Do not under any circumstances bring your pet here. I brought my cat Midnight in because he wasn't eating or drinking. I paid $1,107.00 to have fluids given to him under his skin to get him hydrated. He was dehydrated because he had been throwing up. They took blood work and messed it up the first time and had to take blood a second time. They ran the test and found that there was no damage to his kidneys or liver and the X-rays they took showed there was nothing wrong with his GI tract. They gave him medicine at the animal hospital to keep him from throwing up for 24 hours. He still didn't eat. I was sent a message 20 minutes ago asking how Midnight was doing and I called and the transferred me to a doctor that worked there (VEG) I told him what was going on and he interrupted me several times. I left out of there with two cans of Hills Prescription canned cat food and that's it. The doctor said I would have had to bring him back within 24 hours not to be charged again but at the same time said the medicine to keep him from throwing up would last 24 hours so of course I gave it a chance to work. Now they said they would charge me again to bring him in and have him re-evaluated. In essence I paid $1,107.00 for water and 2 cans of cat food. I reiterate do not take your pet to VEG on Madison Ave. (His response is not only deceitful but also a lie. It is not several hundred dollars less I have receipts and bank statements. The deceitful part is they didn't need another sample they didn't use the first sample because the mistake they made was before they used it. They had to draw blood from both back legs, and bandage both legs.)

Experiencia fantástica: I just want to thank the doctors and staff who helped with my cat, Neptune, yesterday morning. I brought him in for vomiting and I was rather anxious the whole time and the staff was extremely kind and even gave us a private room when I said my cat may not like being in the public room. (He’s a bit of an escape artist) Once in the room they quickly took his vitals and then not long after the Doctor came and examined him. The Doctor (I cannot remember her name but she had dark brown hair) was extremely kind and went over all the diagnostics we could do the figure out the issue, even giving me cheaper ways in case I couldn’t afford the more expensive ones. They gave him some meds and fluids and then I was able to take him home. I also want to thank the Doctor on staff that night. I called rather anxious that my cat hadn’t used the litter box and he calmly and kindly reassured me that I could continue monitoring and if I felt necessary I could bring my cat back in. In all the staff at VEG is incredible and I cannot thank you all enough. I will be recommending VEG to any friend or family with an animal emergency. THANK YOU! Also Neptune is doing much better today. No throwing up and he has used the litter box <3

Experiencia fantástica: We're still grieving the loss of our beloved dog Momo, but we wanted to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to the Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) for their exceptional care and compassion during our darkest hours. When Momo needed urgent attention in December 2024, VEG's prompt and professional team sprang into action, quickly assessing her condition and providing temporary life-saving treatment in their oxygen respiratory chamber. Although the outcome wasn't what we had hoped for, the VEG staff treated us with empathy, respect, and kindness throughout our 27+ hour stay. Allowing us to be by Momo's side was a small comfort in a difficult time, but it meant the world to us. Their dedication, expertise, and genuine care were evident in every interaction. We appreciate the transparency regarding costs and the support in applying for Care Credit. While no amount can undo the pain of losing Momo, knowing we did everything possible to save her brings some solace. VEG's professionalism and kindness made an unbearable situation slightly more bearable. If fate were to deal us another tough hand, we'd unhesitatingly choose VEG again. To the entire team, thank you for being with us in our time of need. You truly are angels in scrubs. ❤️

Experiencia negativa: It's tragic the way some people handle clinical care. Dr Carter has zero bedside manner and shouldn't be allowed to deal with animals or humans. First, she hardly seemed like she knew anything about beardies despite being the "exotic" vet on staff. Second, I've been a medical professional for 23 years, and at times have had to handle medical care for people that I disliked and once for someone I hated. I'm 100% positive that I showed more compassion and empathy to those people than Dr Carter showed to our beardie or my daughter last night. Between her terrible attitude and a botched euthanasia attempt that caused additional suffering for our pet and my daughter, I almost wish we would have stayed home and let our pet die in peace. It probably would have been more humane for everyone involved. After her mistake and failed euthanasia, I requested a different doctor for the next attempt. Dr Carter actually came back into the room and confronted me about it. Absolutely rude and unprofessional. After that confrontation, THEN she had somebody come in and get the consent for treatment. There were bright spots on the staff there, I guess everyone except Carter. I wish I could add a star for Haley, or the 2 Courtneys who were all caring and kind. There was also someone named (Colleen? It was emotional and her name is slipping but she offered to do something special for our final imprints.) Dr Lavigne came in and performed the final euthanasia and was everything a medical professional should be. She at least dulled the blow, but so much emotional damage was done by Dr Carter that I can't give anything above the single star knowing that other families are going to have to experience her. In summary: Dr Carters awful bedside manner. Dr Carter seemingly having little knowledge of bearded dragons despite being the "exotic" vet. Dr Carter screwing up the euthanasia, causing our beardie and my daughter so much unnecessary physical and emotional trauma that I'm still shaking and angry about it. It's a shame there were no other options within decent driving distance or I would have tried for a second opinion. As it stands our beardie is gone and my daughter will never be the same for how it was handled. I was going to email VEG to let them know how things were handled, but I don't see a "contact" form on their website so this review will have to serve as my notice as to how I feel about Dr Carter in the Cincinnati location.

Very unexpectedly. The night shifters were very kind and there and caring. And i have always wanted to say thank you to one specific lady who was the one who was there for us before-during-after playing a major part on that day and being a very kind person towards us. I don’t think i even got her name, or if i did i don’t remember. I remember giving her a hug and talking for a few seconds before leaving. Experiencia fantástica: We had the occasion to bring our fur baby doggy to this ER recently. Our dog had had surgery that day to remove a tumor, and also a dental procedure. He started vomiting that night and when he threw up blood, I was so scared! The staff and ER vet were wonderful! I called on the way in and they asked if I wanted to talk to the vet! I was floored! That has never happened before where you can actually speak to the dr before arriving. I did talk to the vet who was very kind, and got our dog there as quickly as I could drive. They got to us promptly and didn't ask for money as soon as you walk in the door.... another surprise! We stayed with our dog the whole time which was wonderful. They didn't whisk him away from us to some back room where we didn't know what was going on. The young lady who checked us in was very kind, and even offered me some water which I greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend this place if you need emergent care for your pup.

Experiencia negativa: Was a rather horrific experience at this location in early May 2025. After 3 days of in-patient care, he left sicker - gravely ill actually- than when he arrived. He was discharged way too soon and you can see in the picture of his stomach how yellow he was a few hours after discharge. (This indicated that his bilirubin level was dangerously high — I later learned). He was far sicker than they assessed for discharge. We ended up spending $13,000 in medical care costs and he unfortunately passed away. I think he could’ve had a chance at surviving if VEG had taken better care of him. He was a four-year-old very healthy dog. VEG did not cause his illness, but they were ill-equipped and dangerously inept in his care. DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR A PET NEEDING URGENT CARE!!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I totally forgot to write a review about this place. But I would get my first stray kitten as a pet and she would shut down and stop eating. I came in crying cause I thought my first ever pet would be a dead one. They were very supportive and obviously I couldn’t afford the whole test but we were able to agree on giving fluids to the kitten that stabilized her enough to show that she had worms. After that we got some dewormer and she survived here’s a pic today of her helping me study. This place gave peace of mind and I feel like my cat would have probably not made it back then since this was on a weekend and most vets are closed.

Experiencia negativa: After an unfortunate visit, I can no longer in good conscience recommend VEG as a first choice for an emergency clinic. I was in the position where I had to transport a dog under my care to VEG for immediate care after the direct suggestion of his normal vet. When I brought the dog in, I was immediately met with judgement. I felt I was talked over when I was trying to explain the situation, as an employee said multiple times it was caused by a situation the dog was never once exposed to. While I was there, I was completely disregarded because I was not the owner of the dog. While I understand they're not obligated to discuss anything with me as I'm not the owner, the dog was still in my care, I had the information, and I was worried. I was intentionally shut out. Shortly before I felt pressured to leave, the comments from the vet and the receptionist towards me were incredibly disheartening to hear, as I was made to feel like the dog was in the state he was in due to my negligence. I went out to my car and cried due to these comments and the way I was made to feel that entire visit. We took all the proper steps to get this dog care: immediately trying to contact the owners, contacting his vet and making an appointment, and after his vet called us back with new information unknown to us about his medical history, I immediately transported the dog to VEG. All the proper steps were seemingly not good enough for the staff at VEG, though I feel they didn't bother to even ask. Their assumption that we caused it was already made before we stepped in the door. His owner was incredibly grateful for our love and care of their dog who had been coming to us for years and expressed how they knew we did everything in our power for their baby and had also unfortunately had to explain to VEG they knew it wasn't our fault. I once absolutely loved this clinic and would recommend them wholeheartedly. My past fantastic experiences were why I brought that dog there that day. I have recommended VEG to anyone I knew that needed immediate care. I now find it a struggle to ever want to come back here or recommend VEG to anyone again. I know this clinic can be great. I've seen it firsthand multiple times. I really wish this interaction had gone another way and I didn't have to experience such scorn alongside an already depressing experience with a dog I deeply loved and cared for. I WANT to want to come back here. I will unfortunately remember this experience forever. Prior Review: Absolutely recommend this veterinary hospital for any of your emergency needs. I unfortunately had to take my tiny Kenyan sand boa, Desdemona, in tonight. ALL of the staff were comforting and kind, sweet and caring, and absolutely kept the mood up while interacting with me and my snake. Dr. Lavigne absolutely made me feel like Desdemona was loved and cared for while in their care. My fear with reptiles is that someone won't try just because they're "just a snake". I never thought that here. Everyone here treated her with just the same level of attention and kindness as they did the other animals that came in while I was there. Dr. Lavigne even got in touch with a reptile specialist to get a second opinion and confirm the level of care they were providing was correct. I never felt pressured into doing more than I needed to, and I felt the doctors and triage team were honest with me on the prognosis of my girl. While I don't wish to ever have to use an emergency vet ever again, if I do, I will come back to this facility. If they can care for a 29 gram snake this way, I absolutely recommend for any other animal that needs the help. Thank you all so much for everything you did for Desdemona ❤️

Experiencia fantástica: This place was amazing today. Instantly saw my boy for respiratory issues. They got him in the oxygen tank once they knew he was stable. I was able to stay by him until we were seen. Wait time wasn't bad at all. The vet did a very thorough exam of my boy, even found one of his teeth is cracked. Walked me through every, answered all my questions, described in great detail everything they recommend we do for him, and gave thorough at home care instructions. Staff was very warm and friendly. Treated every animal i saw them interact with as if their own. And honestly price was very fair in my opinion. Overall I highly recommend this place and would take all my pets there for their vet appointments if I could.

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot thank the staff at VEG more.. This was our 2nd time coming to you guys in an emergency, only this one we knew was going to wreck my world.. You let me speak to a vet over the phone prior to coming, and you helped me know it was the right time.. I also sincerely appreciate you letting me bring my other cat to be there for Ryu's passing.. When we got there, you guys swarmed Ryu with care, and compassion and you tried to help him.. I already knew the outcome, he's had cancer, and I think your vet said he passed a blood clot.. His distress levels were so high, and the 30 minute drive gave me so much anxiety but in the end it was everything we needed because your staff cared so much.. And thank you for the recommendation of Faithful Friends, they have been such a wonderful company to work with for his cremation.. I cannot remember the name of the vet we saw, but please extend our thanks to her for her compassion and love.. We will forever remember you guys, and praise you to anyone we know. Thank you for his fur clippings, for the beautiful prints you got for me, and I wish I had kept the blanket he had passed in, but I didnt.. So please dont ever get rid of it :(..

Experiencia fantástica: Ranger was in a very serious situation with a bowel obstruction, and the team at this hospital gave him the best care we could have hoped for. Their quick action, kindness, and compassion made all the difference. They treated Ranger as if he were their own, and we are beyond grateful. The service was truly amazing and we would recommend them to anyone who wants their pets in the best hands.

Experiencia fantástica: My Princess Willow had a broken tail from a freak accident, and this was the nearest open vet with decent reviews. I called, spoke to a peppy woman on the phone who IMMEDIATELY transferred me to a dr. I filled out the form online and had her here 15 minutes later. Took the same amount of time to get to an exam room. Three people had spoken to us at this point, which felt excessive, but fine. Kerri was the nurse who administered her meds, did the X-ray, and prepped her for surgery. More on her later. Throughout the process, she was handed off to different people, but the treatment plan didn’t differ, which was good. By the time we were getting her prepped for surgery, I’d been asked to pay two different times, but the peppy blonde who I mentioned before seemed apprehensive about sending me an invoice despite having to pay beforehand. I don’t know about you, but I like having itemized receipts of what I’m paying for. The doctors who operated didn’t introduce themselves, didn’t speak to me. One was the medical director, and the other was named Sam, I believe. Both them and the blonde could maybe use some more bedside manner training. My cat is home recovering now, and seems to be in good spirits. We’ll see how the rest of her healing goes. Through all of it, Kerri was who made me feel the most secure, the most assured that my fur baby would be okay. She was with Willow from start to finish. She deserves recognition for her beautiful service. Thanks, Kerri.

Experiencia fantástica: You never hope that you have to bring your pet back to the emergency vet, but if our cat DOES swallow floss again (or has another emergency), I know where we’ll be taking him! VEG was amazing. Our cat swallowed floss late on a Friday night and we called VEG in a panic. They had zero wait when we called them, so they asked us to come ASAP. The staff was friendly, responsive, and kind to me and my wife and our cat. They were quick to attend to us when we arrived, the check-in process was easy, and they helped us remain calm by explaining everything they were doing to help our cat. Fortunately, we were out quickly, and our cat was good to go. Thanks for such a pleasant and fast experience!

Experiencia fantástica: Our greyhound Moose cut up his abdomen quite badly while running through woods and needed anesthesia so he could be stitched back up. Our vet recommended we try VEG instead of the usual emergency vet center. And boy were we glad he did. VEG’s vet and techs were amazing. They absolutely doted on Moose, and us, frankly. I cannot recommend VEG enough. And VEG was much quicker than the usual emergency vet center. 5 stars!

Experiencia fantástica: Willa was given loving care, communication was great, all staff was welcoming and made me as comfortable as possible. They had a basket of snacks out for people waiting. I could stay with my cat throughout the entire visit .They have a room with a bed if you would want to stay the night with your pet if admitted overnight. Luckily she did not need surgery and they retrieved the object she swallowed by endoscopy. I would highly recommend taking your pet there. The Dr very personable and explained all procedures well.

Experiencia fantástica: I went here last week when I had a late night emergency with my cat! She was straining to pee and they were able to see her and treat her. My cat is not friendly when she is being examined but they handled her so well and talked me through the whole process which she ended up having to be sedated for and did everything in front of me which was really cool to see especially during her ultrasound to see if she had any stones or a blockage. She is doing a lot better now thanks to them being able to see her so quickly. Everyone was super friendly and again handled my cat being a menace very well. I will be back if I ever have another pet emergency!

Experiencia fantástica: Best vet experience in many years of pet ownership. From Tech to Vet--all prompt, professional and experienced. Related to both pet and owner with patience, kindness and respect. Especially appreciated that my beloved pup was never taken 'to the back' leaving me wondering what was done or how he was handled. Special thanks to the busy vet's office that recommended VEG since they had no openings on short notice! Pleasure to find such nice people to help at an anxious time.

Experiencia fantástica: This is 100% the place you want to bring to bring your pet in an emergency. The staff are so amazing and walk you through everything. They are so supportive, kind and just so wonderful all around. They found a ruptured tumor on our dogs spleen and took such good care of her. They truly saved her life and I will forver be grateful for the wonderful staff at VEG!

Experiencia fantástica: My mild emergency was handled with friendly helpful care. They asked about my dog's personality before approaching and handling. The triage of who is prioritized was clear and helpful to see while I waited. Waiting area was clean, well lit, and very open.

Experiencia fantástica: Could not have asked for better nurses or doctors to help us and our fur baby. From the moment we walked in they treated us like family. Their operation is transparent and productive from the second we arrived. The staff never made us feel crazy. They listened and handled care for our sweet Newton better than we could have hoped for. We recommend for any pet owner in need of emergency care! Thank you VEG team!

Experiencia fantástica: Not like any experience I have had in the past with vets...(that means it was good!) Called ahead to confirm it was open. They sent a link to pre-register on our way. When we arrived they had all our info and were ready for us, even though they had a number of people already there. Be aware, when you enter, it is not like any vet you've been to before. It is all open concept and you don't necessarily sit in a room. The staff checked in with us while we sat and waited. Then the doctor came. Very compassionate and took her time. The overall experience was incredible. We were in and out in a very reasonable amount of time. When your pet has an emergency, these are competent people and definitely worth the visit.

Experiencia fantástica: My family lost our sweet Bear this morning. Our previously medically perfect 9 year old Shepherd was suddenly not okay. Within seconds of walking in the door, they whisked her to the back and found the cause of her swollen belly (a ruptured, completely unknown hemangiosarcoma on her spleen). Unfortunately, we could not bring Bear home. The staff and doctor gave us time to get the kids and our other dog to her to say good bye, and then time and space to be with her until we were ready to leave. The process of euthanasia was so kind and peaceful, and the vet was so tender in how she explained everything to us and our oldest son. She didn't rush us through it and she was so good to Bear. We thought we would have many more years to love on Bear, and we never imagined she wouldn't be around at Christmas. To the staff of VEG Cincinnati: my husband and I are so eternally grateful for everything you did for us today. My children were given the ability to say goodbye to a pet that has been around for almost 10 years and has been a vital part of our home. Aaron and I are so happy we made the decision to go to your hospital, and Bear was given the best care. I don't know the veterinarian's name that saw her, but I hope she knows that the kind words she said to my oldest son as Bear laid her head in his lap meant the world to us. Thank you for the kindness and compassion and tears you shed with us as we said goodbye. <3

Experiencia positiva: Last night we brought are loved guinea pig Mr.Finn to VEG. His abdomen was distended and he was no longer eating. We were seen immediately by Dr.Hart and Mary (Nurse), there was also another women there (she checked us in, offered snacks, assessed Finn) but I didn’t get her name the date was (8/31/25) at 0530. They gave us 2 options and were very caring to Mr.Finn. They seemed knowledgeable and hopeful which is what my son needed for his beloved pet. They explained all the test and let us hold Finn prior to taking him back for his procedure. It was change of shift so Dr Wentworth and Whit(nurse) took over Finn’s case. We eventually went home and sadly Finn passed away 3hrs later. I will always appreciate the care and love that Finn received while in their care. It was expensive but I think most animal facilities are. There were no hidden cost. I’d like to thank them for being so gentle to Finn towards the end of his life.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give 0 stars I would. August 2024 my dog got into my vitamins and ate them where xylitol was the main ingredient. It was late on a weekend and while my dog was seizing a terrified mom started calling emergency vets. They told us to rush her in so we did. They gave her liver protectant when we got there and started taking her vitals. It’s now 1 or 2 in the morning and we are told our dogs liver is failing. They wanted to keep her for 48 hours to watch her, after hearing it’s $5,000 I asked for other options. I love my dog but I cannot afford that. While I am thankful for them working with me on payment and pricing we concluded to take her home and they would send fluids and give her all the medicane possible for around $1,000. Coming to this conclusion was a nightmare. I was told to start considering to put my dog down. However, something in my gut was telling me she was going to be okay. She stopped seizing and didn’t have one since we walked in the door. When they took her vitals they told me her liver function was at a number (I forget this number at this point) and possibly was going to die if it keeps climbing. They took her vitals again about an hour or 2 later and her number raised, but if I remember correctly it wasn’t by much. Something was still telling me she’ll be okay. I understand as doctors you can only do with what tests are telling you but the judgement that came with me deciding not to end her life and take her home was awful. At one point I asked what to do if she starts seizing again and the response was “well you have 30 minutes so you better hope you can rush her back here” I took her home, gave her chicken and rice, the fluids and all the medicane like directed. I watched her overnight, she started trying to play with her sister and was just the chill and relaxed husky that she is. The next day we went to our normal vet. They took her vitals again and it was still high, she told me she isn’t even concerned until it hits a certain level and we were no where near that level. She said we’re fully in the clear once her numbers start declining but they were still around the same number as the previous night. In the end, it’s a year later. I just paid off my last payment and decided to write this review. My dog is as perfect as ever and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. No one can predict the future, but to tell someone to put their dog down at 3 in the morning based off a number they don’t understand and your the only opinion available is sad. It makes me think of how many animals lives were ended earlier than supposed to be.
