Experiencia fantástica: Dr Schiess is my vet for my dogs Bindi Sue and Bailey. We love her, she is thorough and her expertise and compassion are evident. My dog bindi is a spaz and she sat on the ground to comfort her and was able to pet her which is rare when she’s in stressful settings. We also had Ella as our technician today and she was awesome and she just had a great, soothing energy. Also the staff let me borrow a muzzle to bring my aggressive dog in and out of the building which brought my anxiety down by a million! Thank you to spca tampa bay vet center!!

Experiencia fantástica: My dog Lolo went for her annual at the SPCA in Tampa Bay and we had Rachel as our technician and doctor Giron they were so nice and attentive and really made me feel like Lolo was a lifetime patient. I appreciate the SPCA in Tampa Bay and will keep going back. The people in the front that greeted me also help me with directions since I only go there once a year I got a little turned around but they walked me through it on the phone and got me right to their parking lot thank you

Experiencia fantástica: I took my precious Jake in today to be put to sleep. Everyone was so kind,gentle,and never rushed me. They pampered Jake with his favorite,chocolate and peanut butter. He really was enjoying being pampered I could tell. What was a heart breaking time for me,they made it just perfect for Jake and me. I was so at peace with how our journey ended with us together and Jake went to sleep having enjoyed very special ways just for him!!! A very beautiful ending,Jake is with Jesus.

Experiencia fantástica: My dog is aggressive so taking him to the vet is a chore. Ella was the technician the last 2 times and she was absolutely amazing! Ella not only calmed Rocky but made the experiences not stressful for me. 1000% recommend Ella and Dr Roughton. Dr Roughton was calm with Rocky and made sure i understood everything i had to do to get Rocky better. Thank you Ladies for helping my baby and making it a smooth process for us.

Experiencia fantástica: My puppy and I love our new vet. Their facility is very clean and attractive The office staff are very helpful, efficient and friendly. The techs and vet are very experienced. They study your dog’s chart thoroughly before examining them. They discuss what they know your dog needs and ask if you have questions. They give you a thorough list of what they did and the cost. Then they explain what will happen next visit, give you a list and cost so you can anticipate the upcoming costs. They are kind and gentle to your pet. I highly recommend SPCA.

Experiencia fantástica: My 5 year old American Staffordshire Terrier needed to establish care with a new vet after her previous vet closed down. We made an appointment with the SPCA with ease after emailing the previous vet records to them. They were ready to see her same-day! During the visit, the Vet tech Rachel and the assistant Keri were patient and listened to all issues and concerns we had. The Vet, Dr Giron, was also very kind, caring, and thorough. The whole team took great care of her, drawing her labs, cleaning her ears, and clipping her nails. The tech booked the follow up visit right in the exam room. The fee was reasonable for such a thorough visit, and they have tap to pay Everything was easy, quick, and caring. I am so happy we have a new Vet Home for our Coco Bean ❤️

Experiencia negativa: I hate leaving negative reviews but when it comes to healthcare i feel like it’s necessary for people to know what they’re getting into. I’ve been taking my dog here for about two years now and everything was fine when it was just check ups and annual shots, but when my dog started having actual medical issues is when I realized this place is not as competent as I initially thought. I also want to preface this by saying that everyone who works here has always been very kind and helpful to me. I think most of the issues are due to a total lack of communication between the workers. It started when my dog developed a bad cough, he’s a terrier mix so I knew a trachael collapse was a huge possibility. I took him in a few times and got some meds for him, but when I tried scheduling a follow up visit I was told the only way to have a doctor see him was to schedule a healthy pet exam which is like a $100 fee on top of whatever else I’d end up spending. Why would he need a healthy pet exam when I’m just going in to check up on an issue he’s been seen about several times recently already?? They said it’s because they didn’t have enough vets available or some weird nonsensical excuse. Whatever, I bit the bullet and paid the fee and got him in and taken care of. Then a few months later he developed some lumps that were concerning. Dr Roughton recommended surgery to remove two of the masses that were concerning to her. I was quoted a total of $1200. I scheduled the surgery and when I brought him for pre op they said they couldn’t get a urine or fecal sample from him which is crazy because he literally lifts his leg on every blade of grass the moment he steps outside. I offered to come outside with the tech to get the sample and she refused saying I wasn’t allowed in the back area with them. Ok whatever I got the samples myself even though I’m not veterinarian professional. Fast forward to the day of surgery. I came in to drop him off at 7am. I signed the paperwork with the quote for the remaining balance of the surgery cost. The tech asked me twice which lumps were being removed, I confirmed the lumps that the doctor had recommended and even pointed them both out to the tech. When the tech was taking my dog to the back he put a choker leash on him. I told him that my dog cannot be on a choker leash as he has a collapsed trachea. He switched it out to his normal leash that I brought him in with. When I got home I got a call from the same tech asking me AGAIN to confirm which lumps were being removed. At this point I’m starting to worry about.. because why isn’t this in his chart?? And I confirmed the lumps twice already and pointed them out! I told him which ones again over the phone.. when I went back to pick him up after surgery the cost was $300 more than what I was quoted that morning because “the mass was bigger than they initially thought”. Yeah right. I suspect they probably quoted me for the wrong mass to begin with! But whatever, again I bit the bullet and paid. Then they brought my dog out to me with a choker leash again!!! Again I said he cannot be on a choker leash he has a collapsed trachea!!! You could literally kill him by putting that thing on him. I immediately took it off and just picked him up and carried him out. They offered to get me to reschedule to come back to get his stitches out but I will be taking him elsewhere for that. Also I know it’s a vets office but it literally smells like they mop the floors daily with piss water in there. Most vets I have been to it usually smells like cleaning solution with a hint of pee, this office smells like straight up urine every single time I go which leads me to believe it’s not very clean. My dog smelled like pee when I got him back from surgery. I’ll be taking him back to Connechusetts in Clearwater where they actually care about your pets and take good care of them in a clean facility. It’s worth the drive and distance for peace of mind. Please do better, SPCA Tampa Bay.

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my very protective high maintenance German Shepherd to the SPCA Veterinary Center for her annual checkup. Dr Giron, Vet Tech Erica and Vet Assistant Alexis were absolutely wonderful and helped make what is usually a stressful experience for my dog quite pleasant. Dr Giron took the time to answer all my questions and concerns! If you have a pet that requires special care, I highly recommend SPCA Vet Center!

Experiencia negativa: They canceled my appointment a few hours before it was happening. It had been confirmed days before. No one apologizes. The excuse was “some vets had their schedules moved around.” They were short and evasive. It was so unprofessional. I called another vet and I’m glad I did.

Experiencia fantástica: Yesterday I had to make the decision to lay my dog to rest and they were wonderful. I stayed with her the whole time. The doctor and assistant were fabulous. They were patient and caring. They made it a little bit easier to let go of my dog. Ladybird I made the right decision to let my baby sleep and it was easier knowing I did the right thing and had good people around me while I did it. I want to thank them so much. It was so hard

Experiencia fantástica: Just adopted an 8 year old dog. Brought him in for his initial visit and to get his shots and vaccines. Everything went great. Ella is the technician and Dr. Schiess is my vet. We arrived 5 minutes early and were seen on time. Dr. Schiess did the exam and gave him his shots. Ella, before doing anything, provided me a cost estimate. It was exactly what I paid. No surprises. Everything was very professional and cordial. Strongly recommend!

Experiencia negativa: After 2+ years, we are finally frustrated & FED UP enough that we are DONE with this place. For reference, we’ve taken our dog to SPCA for spaying, vaccines, general check-ins and monthly medication. The most frustrating aspect has become getting her preventative flea & tick / heartworm pill every month. Once our dog was an established patient it used to be as simple as stopping in and picking up the medicine. A few months ago, they told us their process has changed so we need to call in a few hours prior to make sure they have the medicine ready. Okay, that’s fine we complied. A few times later we call hours ahead but they say they won’t have it ready in time because we need to order it DAYS IN ADVANCE. This seems a little extra for a medicine they know she takes monthly but still, we comply. NOW, THEY ARE REFUSING TO GIVE US HER MONTHLY MEDICATION unless we come in and have her weighed. Even though this has never been a requirement before and she was just brought in (for a vaccine shot) and WEIGHED LITERALLY 3 WEEKS AGO. We told them her weight has not changed and we don’t feel comfortable bringing her in right now since we have been limiting her exposure to other dogs with the mystery respiratory illness being reported but they DO NOT CARE. It seems they are holding us hostage with a new requirement every other month for a PREVENTATIVE MEDICINE. Is someone on a POWER TRIP or what??? Truly, we should have left months ago as the place is disorganized to the point of getting conflicting information every time we call. I believe they will have a lawsuit on their hands in no time. Pros/ Cons: SPAYING: went fine without a hitch besides the frustration of getting a call to reschedule when we were on our way.. VETERINARIAN visits: We’ve been for multiple routine wellness visits since she was a puppy which have all been fine and they were also very helpful when we went in for a hotspot issue. APPOINTMENTS / MEDICINE: The biggest issue is they couldn’t get us in same day if we ever needed it. This is fine for routine check-ins but when we had an emergency they said they couldn’t get her in for two weeks so we ended up having to go to an ER. MEDICINE: see above - process is ridiculous COST: reasonable but prices have went up. The Pros don’t outweigh the cons here. The only thing I would recommend is their spaying / neutering services.

Experiencia fantástica: My husband and I had to put our Maxamillion down today. The vet and the whole crew was so comforting and patient. Very experienced. The room was nothing like the vets office, it was set up like a living room! Dim lighting and all!! They walked us through the entire process urging us to take our time with him. Even offered him chocolate which we all gobbled down together. It really was a soothing experience. Very easy. Even a separate exit to not see a lot of other dogs after just putting ours to sleep. He will forever be missed. Thanks guys, for all your help with this ordeal. It’s never easy. But if you know it’s time. Make the call. This establishment is just lovely! So homey and comforting. Thanks again.

Experiencia positiva: This isn't an easy one. The staff and the doctors here are all great, but we brought our dog to the SPCA to begin with to avoid the insane prices most other vets charge. Our dog got heart worms. The SPCA did blood work and discoved it, then more blood work and comformed it. Next, they recommended more blood work and x-rays, plus a radiologist for an additional $650! All of which,regardless of the results, did NOTHING to alter the treatment protocol! Ridiculous! There was NO reason at all for that expense, and they even admitted it. Then, the treatment protocol was antibiotics, followed by three rounds of arsenic injections. Basically, let's nearly kill the dog to kill the worms. And another $1000. Then we learned about a "slow kill method and asked about it. They acknowledged it, confirmed it, and that's the choice we made. Turns out it was a month of antibiotics, followed by nothing more than the "heart guard" medication we went there for originally! So rather than $1500 plus, and putting the animal through hell, antibiotics for $20 and the heart medication we originally wanted and let the worms die out own their own. Does anyone besides me find a problem with that? We saved $1500 and won't put our pet through hell, yet end up with a healthy dog in the end. It was all nothing but a money grab, and it would have been the same or worse with any other vet in the area. Shameful!!! Three stars seems generous, but the staff was extremely kind and professional as they attempted to fleece us.

Experiencia negativa: I am not usually one to write reviews but the experience i had with this vet clinic was so strange and upsetting that i wanted to let others know. My dog rapidly started deteriorating this past Tuesday and we decided we needed him to be seen by a vet. We had an appt set for early thursday morning where an x-ray was taken as well as blood work. The interpretation of the x-ray was vague with them saying “he may have a spot next to his stomach but it could also be his stomach” and “there’s dots on here that could be mets but they also could not” which was of course led to them asking if i wanted to pay 150$ to have it read by a radiologist. I called two separate times on friday to see if the blood work had come back as my dog had continued to get worse and was only told “it can take 24-48 hours”. Friday night was the absolute worst night for my dog and without any help from this clinic we made the decision to have him put to sleep. Imagine my surprise that when describing the symptoms to the vet who was only there to put my dog to sleep, and a short physical exam, she told me she found 2 palpable masses near his right rib cage and stomach. I doubt these spontaneously grew in the 2 days between him being seen by this clinic and him being seen by the other vet so i’m left to wonder if a proper physical exam of my dog was even done. The only two possible explanations I can think of are 1.) this office was more interested in getting me to potentially pay for labs, x-rays, x-ray readings, and whatever else they could think of rather than letting me know what was actually going on or 2.) whoever was performing his exam was incompetent and unable to find 2 palpable masses which were found in maybe 30 seconds by a different vet. Interpret it whichever way you choose. Please do not bother responding to this with an automated message asking me to call to talk with you because I won’t. I just thought others should know about this encounter.

Experiencia negativa: So I’ll start this off with I’ve been coming here for over 3 years and used to love this place. My last few (3) experiences have been horrible. Recently i brought my dog in for skin allergies they already had medication he has taken in the past that has worked great… for some reason they decided to change it… administered the medication as told and he began to act very strange and not like himself at all… brought him back for recheck explained to them i felt the medication and him where not having a good reaction… they insisted the medication had nothing to do with it and that he had some sort of back problem that was causing him severe pain… tried to guilt me into getting X-Rays which costed almost 300$ ( i denied getting them)… also i asked if he could be put on the original medication he was on… they insisted to continue with what they where giving him… 2 days later he couldn’t stand walk or anything on his own… he tried and fell flat on his face… i called them freaking out and their response was they couldn’t do anything that I’d have to find an emergency vet… basically they poisoned my dog and then couldn’t help me… brought him to the emergency vet… they had to give him Methadone to keep him from being in pain… they told me to immediately take him off the medication… within 24 hours of being off this medication he was pain free and back to being his playful himself… however this emergency vet bill wasn’t cheap and could of all been avoided. Besides the fact that my dog almost died due to this I’m extremely upset that they used my emotions and love towards my dog to try and get extra $$$. Diagnosing him with back issues and being in severe pain when the real issue was they poisoned him that’s why he was in severe pain. After this experience i feel like they’ve done this in the past with me as well having guilted me into doing a 300$ blood test that ended up coming back perfectly fine… a test that i initially didn’t want to do but they kept saying it could be something else it’s better to know… etc it’s sad when greed ruins a place that used to be amazing… never going back again.

Experiencia fantástica: The staff is wonderful, the vet services are extraordinary, and the facility is first class. Besides all the amazing work they do and the wide range of services they perform to keep your pet healthy, we had to utilize their cremation service. Places like Pinellas County Animal control only offer communal cremation, where your pet is cremated with other animals and you don't get the ashes back. At SPCA, they offer private cremation for a little more, but you get a lot more in return. Our cat passed away, and they took us in immediately, treated us with dignity, and the price was affordable at $130, it included a customized wood engraved box to hold the ashes, paw and nose print which was a very nice surprise, a heart warming card, and so much more... all with caring, understanding, and compassion during our hard moments. We are grateful for them being there in our time of need.

Experiencia negativa: I was very happy with the doctor over this past year, but most recently, the service for prescriptions has been awful. Several times, my dog has gone a week without her much needed medication, only to be told that they weren't aware of my previous calls. The prices seem to be increased about every 2 to 3 months. They put a $200 limit on for the use of Carecredit, which makes me now pay out of pocket for meds. When I questioned the office manager about this situation of prices and my inability to get prescriptions in a timely manner, Her statement to me was that they "never claimed to be low cost even though they are affiliated with the SPCA shelter." Basically, she micro managed me in a rude,dismissive tone when I informed her that I'm not returning to their facility due to their incompetence.

Experiencia fantástica: My poor pup had a horrible couple days suffering with bloody diarrhea, throwing up, not eating, or drinking. I was really amazed how prompt the SPCA was with answering the phones and also getting my Benji in on the same day to be seen. Our visit from beginning to end was wonderful, despite our situation. Hours later Benji seems to be doing better already. Thank you to the entire staff!

Experiencia negativa: I am never one to post reviews; that being said: There have been 3 separate occasions where one employee has told me one thing, then I later find out that was not correct and the only solution they have is being told "sorry, they should not have told you that". The most recent "miscommunication" they had, all I needed was a simple re-up of heartworm medicine. I had the option to buy a 12 month supply when my dog was originally prescribed, but I made the mistake of only getting the 6 month supply after being told it would be no problem to come back in and get another 6 month supply. After requesting to buy another 6 month supply through Chewy, I was called and told that they declined the request because my dog needed to come in for another appointment/tests. I stated that I could have bought the 12 month supply originally, which would have lasted me until the next scheduled appointment, but was told there would not be a problem if I chose the 6 month supply. I confirmed on the phone with an employee that if I would have gotten the 12 month supply, theoretically, there would be no need for tests/appointments until the next scheduled visit, and she agreed with me. Aside from that, my appointments have been cancelled/moved within 24 hours of the appointment on all 4 appointments I have experienced. I get that is sometimes due to employee shortages and overall that is not what made me post this review. The reviews stating "they will nickel and dime you" are more than true. I hate feeling like I am trying to be sold on products/services every time I have a simple appointment. It is less about my actual pet and more "what extra things can we send you home with today?" You will state to the nurse that you are okay without certain products/services, then they will send the doctor in and the doctor will specifically go through the things you said you did not want and tell you why you should get them. Then the doctor will leave the room and the nurse will say "So are we good to add those things the doctor talked about back in?" to which you have to answer no again to.

Experiencia negativa: Had our cat spayed at this location a week ago and this morning, we realized she had an abscess around her incision. Any rational human would think to take her back to where she was spayed. We know it's not an urgent care, but you all did the surgery and her primary vet was closed. We walked in only to be looked at and spoken to like we were idiots by the girl at the front desk, and the other lady who came over after as well. It was a simple question of "can someone tell us if we need to take her to the ER." As someone who constantly donates do this organization, i'll take my money somewhere else and you all can keep your condescending tones.

Experiencia negativa: AWFUL!!!!!!!!! Do not take your pet here! They will nickel and dime you. .They cannot keep office staff, which is a clear sign of how this office is being run. You will be made to have several different appointments rather than getting things done all at once so that they can charge you more money. They refuse to honor their word and notes made from the manager in your file. The director is EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. . She will literally talk over you when you’re trying to speak, and is argumentative and condescending. Find somewhere that actually cares for your pet rather than bringing them to this place. Disgusting.

Experiencia fantástica: I am just now getting to writing a few reviews on Google. I wanted to write a review about this wonderful organization. Last year my old dog Pip was elderly and was beginning to not have the ability to get up by herself so when my son called me at work telling me she could not get up off her blanket I knew I was going to have to go to the next level. I called several places around my area asking about having my dog euthanized that day and how much it would be to do that. The prices were in the 300 dollar range but I would of been willing to do that under these circumstances. I did not have to pay that and we were treated very professionally by this SPCA. I called and got an appointment later in the afternoon. We arrived and from the time we got there until the time Pip went across the Rainbow Bridge we were very happy with the care we received as a family. Even when we picked up the ashes and the card, this SPCA is exceptional, professional and they have a heart. The doctor and all of the staff were 100. Thank you

Experiencia negativa: If the staff we dealt with today could get negative stars it would be too many. Met two young girls in the parking lot and offered to foster the fairly healthy, four week old kittens they found. The girls quickly signed them over without being told the implications or even given a copy of what they signed. Was told by the director they were not viable (meaning they will kill them even after I offered to take them) I know for a fact that was not true. I got upset as I knew with a little bit of decent medical care they would thrive and be highly adoptable. Police were called when her judgement was questioned. She is truly a power hungry dictator .. screaming in the parking lot. Please don’t take kittens here but reach out to a true rescue first.

Experiencia negativa: Went there to get a boy and girl cat fixed. Even though didn't show on the paperwork they micro chipped 1 of my pets. Told me it was free because that was there mistake. My husband showed them both of my pet's records and had him initial paperwork. Then when I go to pick up my pets all three fees are on the bill. they did deduct the microchip(even though we wanted both microchips) charged us for both vaccines. Said my husband sign it. so I asked to c the paperwork that he filled out. When they did show it to me, only had initials on 1 of the pets. But they said they assumed both pets needed it. I said. Yall messed up 2xs now ,what if it was something more serious. Communication is. Will not be back .

Experiencia fantástica: We took our two rescue dogs to the SPCA for their shots and annual workup. Everyone there was friendly and helpful; the common areas and exam rooms were clean. Prior to the vet seeing the dogs, a tech explained our options and went over pricing and expectations. The vet was friendly and professional, and the whole experience was very good.

Experiencia negativa: I’ve been taking my dog here for years and have never had a problem until a week or so ago…took my baby in for an allergy shot but instead of them doing a check on her and saying she didn’t need it because there was something else wrong with her and did an exam on her they charged me $104 for something she didn’t need which btw was $10 more than the prior visit I had to rush her the next day to an emergency vet and spend $300 to find out she had a shin infection and contacted SPCA to let them know what was happening and they never asked how she was doing all they cared about was emailing them a pic of her problems and what vet I took her too…no compassion what so ever…I’ve ask them to return my funds but all I got was basically a brush off and rude customer service…I will never bring my dog back here at least the emergency vet reached out to me to see how my baby was doing! I’ve found a better quality and care vet and will no be returning to this location!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Our primary vet clinic. The staff here are all very nice, and they did a great job caring for our then chronically ill cat, Jack. After Jack passed, we received a card in the mail from SPCA signed by the staff expressing their condolences for our loss. They now take great care of our two cats Bandit and Oliver. The only negative experience I’ve had was when they were unable to draw blood from Oliver after repeated attempts when he was sick. Oliver and I were pretty traumatized D= However it worked out the second time we went when Oliver was feeling better. So maybe Oliver just has tiny veins.

Experiencia positiva: Took 2 of my cats there too be spayed and neutered. It was not crowded, only 2 other people there at the time so my cats were taken back within about 15 min after arriving. They did call me in the early afternoon after their surgeries, to give me an update on how they were doing which was nice and since they had finished early that day I was able to pick them both up earlier than originally told. Only reason for the 3 stars is because after the surgery had already been done, was I then told that my female kitty had been pregnant (with one kitten and was about half way through the pregnancy at that point). If I had known I would have never done that to her. I didn't get a phone call about the situation when it was discovered and I feel horrible about it. I don't know for sure who's fault it falls upon for not being notified because I didn't have my glasses with me that day as I had forgot them so I could barely make out the papers I was filling out, to the point I had to have the girl working there read them to me in a shortened version of what they said and had me initial the boxes. I was never given copies of what I signed so I really don't know if I unknowingly ok'ed it or not. But it is not something I would have agreed to if I had known. If it wasn't for that, I would have given 5 stars.

Experiencia positiva: Unfortunately, I can't recommend this SPCA. The cost of monthly care for my animal has gone up almost 100% over the last two years. This last bill I was hit with an additional $25 "fee" above what I would normally pay. Thats $300 a year additional, and to use their terms, this new fee "Aligns with the new corporate pricing structure and accounts for the nurse's time." Their phone menu has now changed and is more convoluted and now adds to their already standard method of answering the phone "...can I place you on hold". It seems these changes also reflect in employee enthusiasm too, but that's just my observation. I already have another appointment with another vet with outstanding reviews on Google and the prices they are quoting me are almost less than half the price of what I am now paying with the SPCA. There are better choices out there.

Experiencia fantástica: This is not the regular SPCA but the Vet clinic in St Petersburg. My neighbor had taken her 5 lb Maltese in to be nuetured and they treated him as if he was there own. I witnessed several owners picking up their pets probably for the same reason and all were handled very well. The staff and doctor are great here I would highly recommend this place for any kind of surgeries or problems your pet might need!!

Experiencia negativa: Went there and the puppy and dog area smelt so bad, I have been there numerous times and have never smelt it like this. I always adopt dogs and cats there not sure about it anymore. The prices was ridiculous $800.00 for a puppy and $300.00-400.00 for other dogs, I asked one of the volunteers why the prices are so high they said they had to raise prices to be able to care for the animals, from the smell they are not taking very good care, poor animals. Didn't have time to go in the cat area.

We do have variable pricing sometimes for our temporary guests (puppies and other in-demand animals). The community has responded very favorably.

We do understand that pricing can raise some eyebrows. However, most of are animals are here longer, sometimes for several weeks. On average for those adoptable dogs or cats listed at $30 to $125; it costs $25 a day to take care of the animals. The "$800 for a puppy and $300-400 for other dogs" helps us care for all animals at SPCA Tampa Bay in Largo. We hope our team can make your experience exceptional upon your next visit. Thank you.

Experiencia negativa: Was a huge supporter of the SPCA & took our 2 Boston Terriers there regularly but recently one of them was attacked by a pit bull while on a walk & when we tried to bring him in they refused to see us/look at him. We ended up taking him to Gulfport Veterinarian who saw him right away despite being fully booked & took him back for surgery. He’s recovering well thankfully but no thanks whatsoever to the SPCA who made a really painful & stressful situation far, far worse.

I simply cannot say enough about the staff and the doctors there. I had a nurse and a doctor talk to me for a very long time explaining how to get my 10-year-old Yorkie is meds. If I could give more than five stars I would. They are Godsend to this area and I would send anybody there to seek out care for their most beloved pets.

I was advised by a very nice person to call County animal control to trap him. I don't want him put down, just treated in a humane way and released. Animal control will euthanize him. Experiencia fantástica: We always used them for our dog we were never rushed! We never waited long and our pet loved being there. The vet even gave us her personal email after a surger to cintact her with any concerns. When our 20yr old doggie needed to cross the rainbow bridge, they were professional and empathetic to all our needs. They have a lovely room that has comfy furniture and gave us all the time we required before and after. I would highly recommend them for anyone's pet. They are pet angels.

It's like taking your child in another treatment room. I am not sure if I will return for that reason, very impersonable.

Experiencia fantástica: I have had both of my kittens spayed and gotten both of their shots here. They have always treated my babies well and have gone above and beyond to keep them healthy and safe when they are in their care. ❤

Experiencia negativa: We had picked this as our vet for our first puppy because of all the great reviews. Prices were a little high, but the service was good. That changed when it was time for my dog’s spay. Scheduled our appointment over 2 months in advance. We specifically wanted it for 7/2 so we had the holiday weekend to spend with her after surgery. As I am pulling in to drop her off as scheduled, they call to cancel the appointment. Their solution is to send us back to the end of the line and wait another month before spaying her. That would result in added costs (since they charge by weight) and a risk that she will go in heat before the procedure. This experience was very poor in customer service. Very unlike what we’ve had here before. Good news is I found another vet that is just as highly rated, but will do the procedure for much cheaper. I might give SPCA another chance for regular appointments, but they obviously can’t be trusted to keep appointments that require more than a week’s notice.

Experiencia positiva: They are apparently more interested in the money than the pet. They refused to give me a 12 month prescription for trifexis and would only allow a 6 month which will cost me $100 more because the 12 month was on sale. This was the 3rd time they cost me a lot of money and I'm on social security.

Experiencia fantástica: Took our geriatric cat there for her final journey. Very compassionate staff. Explained the process and our options very clearly and made sure we were comfortable with our decision. The following week we received a sympathy card in the mail.

Experiencia fantástica: They really gave my pack very good care. I was nervous about my Fur baby's procedure. They called me to give me updates and explained everything that was happening. My lityle guy is feeling better and seems very happy!

Experiencia fantástica: Our visit was unfortunately to euthanize our dog. While it was not a good experience, all of the staff made it as easy as they could. We were brought right into a room and given as much time as we needed with our boy. The vet made sure she explained the whole process and was very sweet to us and our dog. I hated why we had to go, but I loved the way we were treated while we were there and even after we left when they called to check on me.

Experiencia fantástica: Called end of May for a spay appointment for a stray I adopted. Appointments were being scheduled out to the end of July so I asked to be put on a waiting list for a cancelation. Got a phone call a couple days later to see if I could come the next day. Heck yeah!! Great people here! Beautiful facility. You can tell these folks have a passion for what they're doing. So happy to have this resource close-by & not have to drive to Largo.

Experiencia negativa: Be very cautious choosing this establishment. I just trying to warn others about the Doctors and workers at this business. If you don’t ask a question or have a concern you will be fine... they are worn out and no longer work to help, you can feel the frustration in the lack of effort or communication and just feels like the “professionals” are all angry. Just so sad with how they run their business and treat customers. Concerned with the lack of effort, heart and soul at this business. The doctors will twist conversations to protect their work environment. If u have a concerned conversation, be careful they will write a letter saying how they tried... and politely state they no longer want to provide help, but put zero effort in and did not help in anyway to begin with. Lack of communication with setting the appointment caused a sad series of events we had to pay for. Just to share my experience. We made an appointment for our animal to be seen. We rented a car and made the drive. On the way we wanted to share we might be 10minutes late because it took an hour at car rental. They said ok but you might have late appointment fee added on... ok that’s fine. Soon as we arrive the first thing they wanted to go over is how we were 10minutes late and did they go over the fee with us. That was the first goal, and first communication when we arrived. Then 30minutes later they come out and take our animal in. Then we get a call from the Doctor. The doctor contradicts everything that was outlined to us and why we even made the appointment. When trying to talk with the professional they had no time to want to invest any communication only tell me. When asking questions and being told opposite things than what was communicated to us the doctor got very agitated, short and had zero tolerance for any effort to help explain or apologize for the lack of prior communication. Conversation ended confused and hurt. The way I was treated by the over worked doctor was shocking. The staff tried to make things better making sure everything was paid for even though nothing was done. This was not like anything I have ever experienced in 30 years owning animals. It was clear they were not going to try to reach a middle ground not even an apology for lack of communication on their part and lack of empathy/communication on the Doctors. So no hesitation in paying we just wanted to get out of that environment. We had to call multiple times to please bring our animal out yes we paid yes nothing was done at all. That’s fine we just want our animal. Wait, wait... second call they remembered and brought her out. Finally we have our animal back after paying for visit, late fee and rental. Thats ok I’ll take the loss but the reason I am here is the way I was treated through this whole ordeal. I was especially shocked with the Doctors candor and effort to communicate. I was not as concerned with the company just saying one thing to get me in there then they get the visit fee no matter what. I didn’t want money back or discount. I thought I would at a minimum receive information or an apology. But seems the Doctor has more effort to fight than to help. I received a letter saying they tried to provide a professional caring service and everything that was noted in my first review in this letter to me saying they no longer want to provide me with further services. That’s curious to me how specific it was to my review. But I am not at a loss as they only provided me with confusion less money and they didn’t help my animal at all. If you can go somewhere else DO IT! The staff and Doctors at this place truly are worn out and tired. They have lost the passion. I am a respectful well educated person and this is a first for the way I have been treated here and the one who suffers is the one we trying to help right?...they put more effort into protecting bad business and online perception than practicing good business ethics and helping an animal. I wish I could share the phone conversation. so you could have a understanding of how worn out the staff is. So sad...

Experiencia fantástica: Very campationate and knowledgeable staff. Dr. D was very understanding and patient with us. She went through all our options and worked with us on price. Definitely recommend this place. They have given our Sadie some time and we are keeping our fingers crossed that the medication will continue to work.

Experiencia negativa: I have been going to the SPCA Vet Clinic for over 5 years with my older dog and since my younger dog first arrived in Florida. Since COVID, their customer service is no longer existent. I'll spare the small incidents and say: I called yesterday because my dog was doing very badly and they had seen her in January and diagnosed her with pancreatitis- they told me they could get me in next Tuesday. I said forget it and found a vet that could take me sooner as an emergency patient and as it ends up, my dog was in such bad shape she actually needed inpatient treatment. Additionally, I was told by our new vet that my dog's albumin is low, which she is concerned about; however, the vet at the SPCA Clinic who drew the original labs in January told me that her labs were, "perfect". I don't recommend this clinic if you are looking to be treated as an individual patient and not just a number.

Experiencia fantástica: We had the most absolutely best care. We put our dog who was a lab of 15 years. They let us spend as much time as we needed to say goodbye. They are very compassionate. We had to put our dog down and cremated and they have the best prices. I absolutely loved this place especially for us going through putting our baby down. I highly recommend them and prices are great. When arriving with covid-19, you call and tell them the # you are in and because our baby was being put down they came out right away with a cart. Thank you all for making it a comfortable moment. ❤️

Experiencia fantástica: We got our pup fixed here. Friendly caring staff. 1 suggestion, if they offer you the cone or the body suit after surgery, get the body suit! Best thing ever, she feels comfy, can do her business without issue and hasn't even tugged at it 1 time!

Experiencia fantástica: Very friendly and compassionate staff! There's no disguising that animal lovers work here. Surprisingly clean and a warm welcoming feeling to the building! Now, I must say this, and this does not reflect the staff or the SPCA in any way. However, I do shame the pet owners who do NOT clean up their own dogs waste so blatantly left on the grass in front of the building even though there are plenty of clearly marked pet waste trash receptacles well stocked with dog waste bags. Shame on you dog owners who don't clean up after your pets!!!

Experiencia fantástica: They took care of my cat Tripper Marie beautifully. The vet was very sweet and reported that Tripper even puuuurrred. The whole exam and shots took about a 1/2 hour and the price was fair.

Experiencia fantástica: AMAZING PLACE AND THE ARE SO THOUGHTFUL N CARING. I highly recommend this place for anything you need for your pet. I seriously can't thank them enough. $23.00 to neuter or cat. We spent less than $60.00 and got..CAT NEUTERED-ALL SHOTS-RABIES SHOT-AND CHIPPED-TRIMMED HIS NAILS..ALL THIS FOR LESS THAN $60.00. Experiencia fantástica: My husband and I adopted Paco when he was a 1+1/2 year old Chihuahua from the SPCA. We thought he was a mixed breed because we'd never seen a 'Deer Nosed Chihuahua' before. That was in '09. He still acts like a puppy. The SPCA takes very good care of him. He always sees the same Doc, who is terrific. In fact the entire staff is great. If anyone is looking for a recommendation, this is the place to take your pet. Or just take it from Paco. He knows when we're going there. He doesn't get anxious, he just chills and hangs his little head out the car window. When we get there, he leads me right up the steps.
