VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: We moved here and went by the reviews. All the staff including the Vet Drs has always been nice, helpful and compassionate. We have been going here 4 over 5 years and even when it came time 2 say goodbye 2 our pet... Thank u for all that u do!!
Kuuipo, we're truly honored that you've entrusted your pets' care to us over the years. Your kind words about our team's compassion and support mean a lot, and we're here to continue providing the care you value.
Experiencia fantástica: Great staff very professional not very long wait and they treated the dog extremely well. Competitive pricing highly recommend.
We're delighted to receive your commendation, Nick! It makes us incredibly happy to know our team’s professionalism and care made for such a positive experience for both you and your dog.
Experiencia fantástica: Have been coming here for almost 10 years and while some of the doctors come and go, the quality is always the best. This team has always helped take care of my cats and dogs. Excellence in surgery and follow up care. Always helpful.
Ale, it's wonderful to hear that you’ve consistently experienced top-notch care for your cats and dogs over the past decade. We're grateful for your continued trust in our team. Thank you for your thoughtful review!
Experiencia fantástica: This is a great place to take my fur babies. Everyone is so friendly and professional. They have appointments which is nice so you are never crowded in with lots of people and pets which can be challenging if some dogs are nervous.
We're delighted to know that our friendly and professional environment has made your visits to our hospital a positive experience for you and your fur babies. It's important to us that our appointment system creates a comfortable setting for all our patients, and we appreciate you sharing such an encouraging review!
Experiencia negativa: Tried to schedule a visit for my dog they said I had a past due balance and I could not see the Vet. I explained I did not have a past due balance but would pay the small fee right now on the phone with my c.c. just to see the Vet. The lady was rude and said go else where and would not even attempt to collect the alleged past due amount. No customer service skills, she did not give care in the world for my dog’s condition. I wish I could give zero stars. Very disappointing
Brian, we regret to hear about the frustration you've encountered regarding scheduling an appointment and the service you received. It's essential that our team provides professional and caring assistance at all times, especially when it concerns the well-being of your dog. Please reach out to our hospital manager by emailing [email protected] so we can address your concerns in detail. Thank you.
Experiencia fantástica: i called to inquire about what i could give my cat for a 4 hour plane ride. the woman at the pharmacy was so nice and helpful. she knew exactly what we needed and explained everything to us in detail. very very helpful.
Alicia, it was our pleasure to help. Thank you for reaching out and for taking a moment to share your experience!
Experiencia negativa: This place has very unprofessional receptionists. They tell you one price and when you coming to perform appointment they charging different. Been told by lady my exam and vaccine cost 120$, and I did reconfirm if it’s for both pets, and later on been charged 209$ when ask same lady she said price was only for one. Probably not gonna come back again
Nicolas, it's regrettable to hear that you encountered confusion regarding pricing during your recent visit. We strive for clear communication, especially when it comes to the cost of our services. We take your feedback seriously and would like to connect to clarify this matter. We invite you to email our hospital manager at [email protected] so we can address your concerns. Thank you.
Experiencia negativa: I took my two cats to this vet back for their annual visit back in December. For one of my cats, I asked them to listen to her heart because there may have been a murmur when she was younger. They listened and sent her home saying her heart sounded fine. 3 hours later they called back and said she did have a gallop sound and that she would need to come in for an x-ray ($400+) and then an echocardiogram ($1000+) I did my own research and decided an x-ray was a waste of time and money so I took her directly to a cardiologist to get checked out. Cardiologist said she was absolutely perfect and they could not hear anything out of the ordinary. The cardiologist was only $900. My second cat has a bit of a behavior problem (biting vet techs). He needed to be sedated for his routine blood work and urine analysis. When I came to pick him up 5 hours later, he was still pretty deeply sedated. I called the vet asking him why he was still zonked because he’s usually better by now. They said he’d be fine in 24 hrs and that they gave him a “kitten cocktail”. I spent 24 hrs laying with him on the floor because everytime he’d walk, he’d fall over. After 24 hrs he became increasingly aggressive, growling and hissing all the time, attacking my other cat (which he had never before), attacking me, freaking out at every shadow and sound. Very much symptoms of PTSD. I gave him a couple of weeks to see if he tempered out before I called the vet back. They said that they gave him a heavy dose of ketamine to sedate him and maybe he was having a reaction. They would do more research. 2 weeks later they called me back to say it probably wasn’t the ketamine and it was just my cat, but they’d be happy to bring in a behaviorist for him ($$$$). It’s been 2 months now and nothing has changed. My cat is permanently traumatized now. He spends most of everyday locked up in my second bedroom because he won’t stop attacking, growling, and hissing. I can barely pet him or pick him up anymore. I’ve had him for 9 years, since he was 4 weeks old and bottle fed, and I feel like I’ve lost a child— he’s a completely different cat. My sister is friends with a lot of vets who believe (without seeing him because I can’t take him anywhere) that he suffered from “dysphoria” while waking up from an excessively high dose of sedation and that he does have PTSD. Leaving me with the options of staying like this or affording a behaviorist. Not to mention he needs a teeth cleaning and I can’t get him into a carrier at all. I’ve had cats for my whole life. And 4 in my adult life where I was responsible for the vet visits. This is absolutely insane and I have every right to believe that these vets do not care about your animals. Just about money. And BY THE WAY everything here costs twice as much as any other vet I’ve been to. My vet visit (2 cats, 2 vax, blood, urine, sedation) cost me over $700. Think twice before subjecting your fur babies to this vet.
Jess, we can imagine how distressing this situation must be for you, and we take the well-being of every patient very seriously. Ensuring clear communication and understanding your concerns is important to us. We would like to have the opportunity to discuss your experience in more detail. Please send an email to our hospital manager at [email protected], so we can follow up with you directly. Thank you.
Experiencia fantástica: This is my to go vet clinic. Right by the house. I take my 3 dogs and 2 cats there. Everyone is friendly and never had issue. They also helped put to sleep my dying Kitty of 19-20 years of age. It was difficult, but I appreciate them for their assistance.
Ana, our hearts go out to you for the loss of your kitty, as we understand how heartbreaking this is. We want to thank you for placing your trust in us for your pets' needs, and please reach out if we can provide any further support. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: Very good care and friendly staff.. Helpful with all questions and recommendations. Have been a patient with my pets for more than a decade! Have also referred many of my friends and neighbors, whom all were very satisfied.. a little more than I can really afford on my low fixed income, but well worth the care provided. Very close to my home as well.
Experiencia fantástica: Service...Broken Dew Claw. Cost $300. Called Mon @9am. Had appointment @10. Front desk staff were friendly and efficient. Vet didn't make any impression. Even seemed offended when I told her what I wanted done before she could explain it to me. Whatever, this is 3rd time my poor pup broke a nail. From outta town and was an emergency. Thank you to the sweet woman who gave us a blanket for the Uber.
Rick, it was our privilege to help you care for your pup. Thank you for taking a moment to provide us with your feedback, and if you're ever in the area again and need a helping hand, please feel free to reach out.
Experiencia negativa: Do not bring your pet here. All these people care about is there money. When my friends dog needed surgery they wouldn't perform it until he paid for it completely. She ended up dying because when they finally got to do the surgery it was too late. They also after she had her surgery, she unfortunately ended up passing due to them not watching her close enough. Just don't trust these people they are careless and only care about getting paid . When an animal needs emergency surgery they should do what needs to be done to save the animals life and worry about payment after.. So upsetting to see animals treated so unfairly.
Jessica, we are saddened by your comments as we do everything we can to help our patients as much as possible. We are sending our condolences to you and your friend for your loss and are available if you'd like to discuss any concerns. Please contact our hospital manager at [email protected]. Thank you.
Experiencia negativa: Rude staff!! If this place could be give zero stars based on todays attitude and willingness to help they would get a zero!!! Girls at the front are no help one wanted me to wait and see if the doc could see my dog but it would be around $130.00!! Of course after saying she’s like well you know what the doctor can’t see her today she’s the only one and she’s doing surgeries so if it’s an actually an emergency she would send you elsewhere since we don’t have that equipment… What?! Multiple discrepancies here last time I took my dog on 7/11 was without a consult and it was around 80ish and today magically it’s 50 bucks more!! This place rather wants you to suffer along with your baby because they did not want to do their job!!! What a shame I liked this place but I see that they don’t care about you unless your willing to pay so much for a walk in. Now here I am trying to look elsewhere since they refused to help my dog out! I do not recommend this place.
Karen, we are disappointed to hear that you do not intend to return. The service you've described is not what we aim to offer. We'd be grateful for an opportunity to address your concerns with you personally and hope that you'll email our hospital manager at [email protected]. Thank you.
Experiencia negativa: Dr. Jernia bustria (if you wanna call her doctor) saw our family dog and literally all she said was ‘there’s nothing we can do’ then proceeded to prescribe us medicine without giving us any more information or health advice. Definitely was transactional and I don’t feel like she truly cared about what happened to him. Why be a vet if you don’t care about what happens to the animals that see you?
Rena, helping our patients is very important to our team, and we are saddened you were given a different impression. We'd like to speak with you to clarify any concerns regarding your experience. Please email us at [email protected]. Thank you.
Experiencia fantástica: Doctor Bustria cleaned, polished, rounded two chipped crowns, extracted one molar and one canine to ease the transition for Little One into our home. He is the remaining cat of a feral colony of 24, which I TNR'd 12 years ago. No longer does he need to "guard his yard!" Little One is enjoying indoor living thanks to the loving care of Doctor Bustria and the staff at VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital.
Experiencia fantástica: The veterinarian took the time to listen to my concerns and my pet's history. She also took the time to fully explain the allergy testing I was considering. So far, the prescribed food appears to be successful.
Thank you for allowing us to be there for you and your pet. Please reach out if you need anything at all going forward.
Experiencia fantástica: Brought my dog Mr Mak in for suspected Giardia. I was able to get a same day appointment and my boy got all the help he needed. He’s much better now, thanks to Dr. Brittany Anderson and all of the techs there. Thank you all!
Michael, thank you so much for allowing us to be there for you and Mr. Mak. It feels us with joy to hear that he is doing much better, and we want you to know that we'll continue to be here to support you in any way we can. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: They called back to inform me the stitches were dissolved but unfortunately i cut them this week i was going thought stress and her heat cycle i freaked out stiches were not disolving but they called back and explain to me the stiches take few weeks since its cartilage in her ear
Clara, we care about your puppy's needs and ask that you please contact our hospital manager at [email protected] so we can address your concerns. Thank you.
Experiencia fantástica: The staff is extremely helpful, kind, and forthcoming about everything. Dr. Bustria is the best I recommend anyone who is extra careful and likes to be thorough to seek Dr.Bustria I would switch hospitals if she left. Anakin is never scared when she comes in, in fact he gets excited to see her.
Our team is grateful for your kind feedback, Elias. We look forward to seeing you and Anakin at future appointments!
Experiencia fantástica: Super kind staff, and affordable initial diagnosis. Prices for extensive treatment were high, however they were kind enough to let me try the most affordable option of antibiotics without breaking my wallet. It seems to have worked so far and the cat is happy. Thanks so much!
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us, Gabriel! It was truly our pleasure to help with your cat's needs.
Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Anderson and crew took such great care of my Dobie and his surgery. They were always just a text away and showed competent care of him each step of the way. My Dobies ears are turning out great if he would just keep his posts on! Lol. I recommend this team for your pet needs. Thank you VCA:)
Tiffany, thank you so much for sharing your review. We've been honored to help with your veterinary needs!
Experiencia fantástica: I have nothing but good to say about this place. From the veterinarians to the front desk. I took my dog in because she was very sick we took an x-ray and there was no other recourse than to emphasize her. Of course we were devastated. But they were so kind and understanding, they answered all of our questions. I went to pick up my girls remains the other day and they had a beautiful velvet bag also her paw print which we didn't expect in a beautiful bag with a card. I want to thank them for the care they took with MuMu(my dog) and the understanding how it is with me and my family, I would refer them to anybody with pets.
Stephanie, thank you for your heartfelt review. Our hearts once again go out to you for your loss, and we want you to know that you are in our thoughts. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia negativa: On our 1st visit: 5⭐'s Probably the most helpful and knowledgeable vet. Dr. Brittany was kind and provided a thorough and accurate diagnosis of our dogs issues. We have owned 8 dogs (not all at once) and have been to vets in SoCal, MT, Nor Cal and now NV. If we lived in Las Vegas Dr. Brittany would be our vet, no bones about it! 2nd Encounter: Zero ⭐'s Major disappointment. Called for a medication refill and a return visit was required for blood tests. Our dog has had the medication for years and a blood test has never been needed. We were out of state and the requirement was totally unnecessary.
Dr. Anderson is a wonderful veterinarian, Dewey, so we're so proud to know that she has cared for all of your dogs so well throughout the years! We'll be sharing this kind message with her, as it's always a privilege to have our team recognized in such a great way. Thank you!
Experiencia negativa: My mother and father brought my cat into the clinic to have a tooth looked at some weeks ago. Was told he had a broken tooth that needed to be extracted. At the time, couldn’t afford the blood work and everything else that needed to be done. Now just yesterday they had a wonderful lady offer to cover costs and they took him to a different vet office who diagnosed him with an aggressive form of mouth cancer. There was a tumor. A tumor that you guys missed. And unfortunately the cat had to be put to sleep. So that poor cat had to suffer for weeks and so did my family for absolutely no good reason. Money spent trying to make him comfortable. Trying to do anything they could for him. How do you miss something like that? Very disappointed and upset.
Sammi, first and foremost, we are truly sorry for your loss of your cat. Providing thorough and reliable care is important to our team, and we are here to address any questions or concerns you may have regarding the service our staff provided. Please feel free to email our hospital manager at [email protected]. Thank you.
Experiencia negativa: They didnt do much to help my cat other then charge alot. My cat has been suffering from extreme itch and hair loss since June. I came here to get 2nd opinion because my normal vet was only willing to do allergy shots which didn't work. These people did even less to help with his misery if thats even possible, skin scrape came back negative, and still waiting for blood draw results. I'm about as fed up with the animal medical care in this town as I am with the human medical care which is really non existent.
Kris, we always want to make a positive difference for our patients, so it's discouraging to read your review. We'd like to speak with you about your experience and the care we provided for your cat. When you have a moment, please email our hospital manager at [email protected]. Respectfully, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia positiva: My adopted dog introduced me to this facilities. Nice facilities. The waiting room is clean. The wait is not long before you see the vet. The staff is friendly. I was so impressed I switched vet for my other dog.
Gina, we appreciate you giving us an opportunity to help with your veterinary needs. Our team will continue to be here for you and your dog going forward!
Experiencia positiva: I given at least 3 stars because they did get my dog in and seen for an emergency visit right away. And on that note I would of paid whatever was needed. I was quoted a price by the vet, fine. The vet took him back and took x-rays and did blood work. When I was checking out the vet had double the price. Which from 10 to twenty wouldn't be bad, but from 500 to 1000 is a different thing all together. Part of the extra fee was a 100+ for interpretation of x-rays, which consisted of her telling be there was nothing on the x-rays. But as I said I would pay for what ever was needed, but have them double the price on the check out seem kinda like a scam to me. Especially when the vet doesn't come and tell me the price double, but has the front desk tell me at check out.
We are glad our team was able to get your dog in right way, as we understand how stressful emergencies can be. However, we apologize for any lapse in communication you experienced, as we always want to be transparent regarding our services. In order for us to better address your concerns, kindly email our hospital manager at [email protected]. Thank you.
Experiencia fantástica: They love my pup and it shows. Am I rich, no. So they give me all the options to best fix my doggo, who has serious skin issues. They recommended many many options to help, my Nala, overcome her itchiness. They do it with care. No pressure. No guilt. Just love for the animal.
Jonelle, we love being here for you and your pup. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We encourage you to reach out any time we can assist you and Nala!
Experiencia positiva: So far, my experience has been good. This facility no longer specializes in Canine Reproduction. They are only open M-TH. I love the staff and vets. It is hard to get an appointment but if it is critical, they will squeeze you in.
Thank you for sharing your experience. It's been our pleasure to assist you, and we look forward to continuing to be here for you and your dog in the future.
Experiencia fantástica: It can be difficult to find an animal hospital that you feel truly comfortable entrusting your pups with let alone one that treats you fairly on costs. Well we found that with Dr Anderson, the medical staff and the awesome ladies up front. We highly recommend the care at VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital!
Jimmy, it's an immense honor to know we've earned your complete trust. Thank you for recognizing our staff, and please don't hesitate to reach out whenever we can provide assistance or support!
Experiencia fantástica: We have taken generations of pets to this location since 2006. The staff is very friendly and obviously cares about the animals they treat. Dr. Andrew Anderson not only cares deeply about the pet clients he treats but sincerely cares about the human clients too! We love VCA Desert Inn <3
Meg, thank you for entrusting your pets to our team over the years. We love what we do and sincerely appreciate your recognition.
Experiencia fantástica: An incredible vet- always busy because they're so good! They've taken great care of my dog in both emergency and regular preventative health. They work with insurance, are up front about costs, and do great work. Highly capable and kind doctors and front desk staff. Do plan ahead for any preventative appointments, but they're well worth the wait. The pharmacy is also fast, same day usually, and has great prices. I'll never take my pets anywhere else!
We've been honored to help care for your dog, and we appreciate you taking the time to highlight our dedicated team and quality care.
Experiencia fantástica: Very thorough and accommodating. We called the morning we needed to be seen and they worked us in and we had very little wait time before we were taken care of. The doctor and assistant were extremely helpful and addressed all of our concerns. I’d definitely go back.
Amy, it was our pleasure to assist you and your pet! Thank you for reaching out, and please know we're here for you if you need anything else.
Experiencia negativa: Last year (2020) Dennis Arn left the practice and while everyone still seemed nice, it became difficult to get an appointment and impossible to get an appointment in an emergency. I recently noticed that they appeared to be closed on Saturday and upon checking looks like they are only open Monday through Thursday. I guess that explains not being able to get an appointment. We are no longer taking our dogs to VCA facilities. Prior Review We've been taking our dogs to Dennis Arn, Joel Farnsworth & Co. for more than 30 years. Over that time we've seen them expand the facility, staff, and services. Through all that, they've maintained the same friendly, caring attitudes that brought us to them in the first place. My dogs are members of my family and Dennis treats them as if they were his. We trust him and the other doctors who have joined the practice over the years. From wellness checkups (vaccinations, physicals, teeth cleaning and spaying) to kennelling to emergencies (my labradors ate a pin cushion) to end of life decisions that are inevitable, Dennis, Joel and the staff have always been great, caring people. Best of all, my dogs generally seem happy to visit DIAH. They like playing/visiting with the staff and they like the doctors and technicians. For me, that is the best reason to recommend them.
Experiencia fantástica: I came home from work one day and had to rush my dog to the closest veterinarian clinic because we just moved and our vet was on the other side of town. After an initial exam Dr. Brittany Anderson said my dog was really sick and she needed to do a few tests to diagnose her illness. I told her I didn’t have a lot of money. She said let’s start with blood work and an ultrasound and go from there. It wasn’t about the money for her; it was about giving my dog the best treatment. I know my furbaby could not share her symptoms and how she was feeling so I agreed to the recommended tests. Soon after I was informed she had pancreatitis. I was hesitant because I didn’t know if I could trust Dr. Anderson or afford the treatment but I did not want to lose my furry companion. She told me I could take her for a second opinion but she needed to be treated as soon as possible because she has a life threatening illness. I agreed to the treatment and in return Dr. Anderson saved her life. Since then my dog has had liver issues, cataracts, UTIs, abnormal growths removed, tooth extractions, and now has allergies and cushings. Having a pet is a lot of responsibility. They should be taken to the vet at least once a year for an annual checkup, plus it’s a great time to get to know your vet and your pet. Being able to TRUST your veterinarian and know they want to give your pet the BEST care is very important. When Dr. Anderson moved to VCA we followed and continue referring clients to her since 2016. I don’t mind driving across town to have the best medical care for my furbaby. It’s worth it to know she is getting the best treatment! Over the years I have also had the pleasure of getting to know Dr. Andrew Anderson. He is high spirited and cares just as much as his wife about the well being of their patients. I believe both of these veterinarians are amazing, are breed knowledgeable, know how to diagnose and treat our furbabies and they truly care about our pets (not about the money) and I would follow them anywhere they go because I trust them. Having a pet is wonderful. They give us so much unconditional love but with that love can come extra unexpected costs, especially if you care and treat their ailments. My pet and I both get annual checkups. I have health insurance on myself and Trupanion pet insurance for my dog. It helps absorb costs. My dog is almost 15 and she is doing great thanks to Dr. Anderson caring so much and helping me keep her healthy. We are very impressed with the cleanliness and service at the new clinic and the staff is so caring and helpful. THANK YOU Dr. Anderson for continuously taking care of my furbaby and giving her the best care possible. You are greatly appreciated.
Karen, thank you so much for your wonderful endorsement of Dr. Anderson, who has been truly honored to be entrusted with your veterinary needs over the years. We are grateful for your continued support and encouragement, and we'll be here for anything you may need going forward. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: I am absolutely thrilled that a good friend recommended this location. Originally it was because our dog died while we were out of town and they were hosting our dog at their home. The staff was so understanding and kept our dear one so we could travel home and say our good byes. They then took care of everything at an affordable rate and keepsakes. We didn't know then that we would be inheriting a new dog only a month later due to a death in our family of an uncle who had a 2 1/2 year old Whoodle! Well, we new exactly where we wanted to have her cared for and that's here at VCA Desert Inn. We have boarded her here and she loves it. We also always get her nails trimmed and grinded here. She comes out as happy as can be. The staff members are caring people who shows lots of love to all animals. The all seem to love working there and that's important to us just as much as the Veterinarians credentials in my book. I highly recommend this location.
Ty, thank you so much for the heartfelt review. Our team is grateful to have you as a client, and we'll continue to be here for you and your sweet girl!
Experiencia positiva: They took very good care of my dog, but the staff who took the payment had attitude, l didn't care for. The entire staff seemed to greet some people with a lot of friendliness, and a little dead for me!!!! That's ok, there are other friendlier places, l can visit!! Money is green!! Customers pay their salaries, no customers, no job!!!!!!!!!! Bye
Ensuring all aspects of your experience are positive is important to us, so we sincerely apologize if you received anything less than friendly and professional service from our team. Please give us a chance to discuss your feedback in greater detail by emailing us at [email protected]. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: The best vet experience I've ever had.. So patient and compassionate, but thorough. You don't feel rushed, they schedule online and send text reminders and have a great wait in the car policy until your room is ready. My cat had to have a major procedure and they were so helpful! Really took the stress out of it.
Jen, we're overjoyed you had a great experience with us. Thank you for complimenting the compassionate and thorough care provided by our team. We loved looking after your beloved cat and we are here for you if you need anything else!
Experiencia fantástica: We love Dr Franco! She is extremely professional and has given us important recommendations that other veterinarians have missed for our dog. She is so knowledgeable and most importantly treats our dog like one of her own! Everyone we have seen at VCA, including Dr Franco and Taylor, have treated our dog so very well and we can’t recommend them enough!
Lauren, we appreciate your kind words about our veterinary team, who will always be here to provide professional and knowledgeable care!
Experiencia fantástica: Totally love this place! Doctors are nice and as well as the assistants I wouldn't wanna go anywhere else!
We're honored to know we've earned your complete trust and support, and we appreciate you taking a moment to share your wonderful feedback with our team!
Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Franco is amazing! We initially went to VCA Desert Inn because our usual vet did not perform the laparoscopic spay and gastropexy. She did a wonderful job and while my dog was there Dr. Franco caught a skin infection that others had missed, treated it and it was gone in weeks! Most notably, though, Dr. Franco really worked wonders when it came to my baby's gastro issues. For months my poor dog had chronic diarrhea, and we could not figure out why. We were spending a fortune on prescription food (prescribed by a different animal hospital) that barely made a difference. Dr. Franco heard about these issues when she called to check on my dog's skin infection and recommended a different food. It was not prescription so I was hesitant, but I was desperate so I gave it a shot. IT WORKED!!! It's been weeks, no more sick puppy! My girl is happy, I'm happy, my wallet is happy! Thank you Dr. Franco and VCA!!!!
Tali, thank you for your fantastic compliments for Dr. Franco! We are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of our patients, so it means a great deal to us to read your review. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia negativa: I have no complaints when it comes to their personnel, they were all very professional and respectfully. They listened to my concerns regarding my old pup and I even joined their pay plan. They messaged me promptly when it came to finding the results and I even got phone calls early morning with more updates. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ALL PERFECT. EXCEPT that I was asked about "How much was I looking to spend for the day"? This is not a car dealership. That threw me off guard.... I reiterated to the lady that I would appreciate a call PRIOR to them doing anything that would make my expenses higher as I am a student with a tight budget and they reassured me I would be getting a call first and NOT to worry. I accepted but I should have known.... of course NO ONE EVER CALLED ME, (I am on my phone all the time as my job requires me to do so, I check my calls and they even admitted they did not call me. ) My bill went from $20 (on antibiotics) to $100 JUST LIKE THAT! I even called prior to going in and asked and they said $20, but when I got there, to my surprised they had taken unauthorized steps and charged me more. Not to mention, they LOST my $45 leash (my dog is pretty big and strong so he requires a thick and durable leash.) NO SORRY , just (We will call you IF we find it.) Okay, so weeks later, NO CALL BACK. I guess I should assume my leash might have gotten lost or given to another owner by mistake. (THICK, RED LEASH I got from pet smart) It was not a cheap leash. I was not gonna do this cause I work customer service BUT I am STILL UPSET about the whole issue and the fact I have not gotten a call back about my leash.
Thania, providing transparent and informative care is our standard, so it's disappointing to learn that you feel like this was not highlighted throughout your visit. We apologize for any miscommunication you experienced and encourage you to email our hospital manager at [email protected], so we can ensure your concerns are fully addressed. Respectfully, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia positiva: UPDATE: The vet reached out to me several times. Explained the situation and I am happy with the answer! He listened to my concerns and we talked for a while. I will be staying with Desert Inn. I've been bringing my pets here for several years now. And they have gone downhill rather quickly. I needed to order more allergy serums for me dog before she ran out, so I called and tried to order. Was told I needed to bring my dog in. So I did. Was charged another exam fee, which wasn't needed since she just had an exam and didn't even need to be brought in to order her next round of serums. They said they would order them. Now it's almost 3 weeks later, and I've called several times, left messages with front desk, saying it was urgent each time and still no call back and no serums. I spent hundreds and I mean hundreds of dollars for the allergy tests and the first round of serums only to be for nothing. It's too late for her to get the next round before I run out of the first batch, so it's like starting from scratch again. I don't like to leave bad reviews, but when I can't even get in touch with them to give my concerns, I have no choice.
Susan, we understand your concerns, but when it comes to any services we provide, even as it pertains to refilling medication, it's regularly necessary on our part to seek an up-to-date exam. We ask this of our clients to make sure that we have a very accurate idea of a pet's exact health profile at all times, which can determine the way we might approach certain services and situations. We apologize for the delay you experienced and ask that you please email our hospital manager directly at [email protected] so we can better address this. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: I cannot say enough good things about VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital. They provided exceptional, specialized care to my cat. Dr. Boltz, Belinda, and the entire team are knowledgeable, caring, and very communicative. I highly recommend this animal hospital. Thank you to the great staff!
We truly appreciate all of your kind support, Emilia! Our team is passionate about providing the knowledgeable and friendly service you've mentioned, and it's wonderful to know that you feel your cat is in great hands with us. Thank you for your recommendation and praise!
Experiencia fantástica: Very happy with our experience there. Prefer to be inside but Dr. Franco was thorough on the phone explaining things. Also the other staff was very helpful telling me how to get to the hospital [she talked to me three times on the phone] and fielding my questions and concerns prior to taking my dog inside. They deserve their rating.
Being helpful is a top priority for our team, Wendy, so we're elated to hear that you left feeling satisfied with the assistance you received from us. Thank you for sharing your experience, and please let us know if there is anything else you need in the future. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia negativa: I have been taking my pets to this animal hospital for over 6 years now. Over the last 2 years the service has drastically gone down hill. The office staff is not helpful and they only want your money. Today I called because my bulldog was in distress, he had hurt his hind leg, mind you he recently had his front leg amputated due to cancer, so when his hind leg his not working correctly he is in trouble. I was informed that the office was closed due to COVID exposure, that they could not see him until Monday. Monday is not acceptable. They had no place to refer you to for emergencies like this. You would think they would have lined up another doctor, but no they leave it to you to find one. We will be transferring all our pets to another vet as of today. This was the last straw. We like Dr. Arn, but this customer service is a zero.
Cynthia, we always strive to be as accommodating as we can be and apologize for any inconvenience you experienced. Please email our hospital manager at [email protected], so we can better address your concerns. Respectfully, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: I needed a vet closer to home as my cat hates being in the car. I have been very happy with the level of service and care. I've only gone for annual exam and nail trims but the staff is very nice and efficient.
Karin, we're grateful that you appreciate our commitment to veterinary care. We're also here for you if you need anything else for your cat going forward. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing experience. They took great care of my Puppy's surgery at a reasonable price. Very professional staff from start to finish. Kimberly Franco, DVM called me personally to let me know how the surgery went. Thanks to everyone at VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital for taking care of my fur baby. I quickly recommend them for all your veterinary needs.
Thanks for the thoughtful words, Cathy! It was a pleasure for Dr. Franco and our team to helpfully attend to your puppy and make sure the surgery went well. We're humbled by your gratitude and we'll be here for you if you ever need anything else. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia negativa: Staff is rude. Doctor had a tone and while my dog was under they cut his nails down to bloody stumps! (I have pictures, for some reason I am unable to post them.) Thanks a lot dream team Might as well have done it myself! Ridiculous. Also, you will be waiting there forever. It's a nightmare.
Lindsay, we're disheartened by what you describe. Our foremost goal is to always help and treat our clients in a respectful manner. We'd never want our clients to feel like they were treated in an unfavorable manner. Please email our hospital manager at [email protected] so we can further discuss your concerns. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia negativa: I've boarded my cat here three times and my dog once. They are crammed in very small cages onna doggy cell block like a pound. Not at all how it sounds on the website. Each time I have picked up my cat, she has had an injury somehow. I actually had to take her to another vet bc of a horrible gash right under her eye last time. My dog also had a bad scratch on his nose. They could never explain any of them. Three strikes. Never again.
We're taken aback by your review as we take many precautions to ensure that all pets in our charge are fully attended to and taken care of. We'd never do something to make a pet feel uncomfortable or stressed. In fact, we take many measures to ensure the opposite is the case. We'd like to further discuss this with you if you can please email our hospital manager at [email protected]. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia negativa: Today I went to VCA desert inn for the very last time, and I will be sure to steer those in the dog community away from here as well. Sadly, Dr. Lingwall is a good vet, however he is overshadowed by absolutely abysmal and incompetent staff and assistants. I had my Doberman cropped in May and have been returning weekly for ear wrapping and posting. About every other week, there is some issue with staff in regards to scheduling, and even though we were told to bring him in at any time if the ears came unwrapped, as a walk-in, when we went in as a walk in, my husband was scolded by an employee who gave him a snotty attitude and told him he should have made an appointment. Yesterday, I made a 2pm appointment for the ears, and we arrived approximately 1:45pm. Three separate employees came to the car, asking if we had been helped/checked in, and we said yes, as the first one said she had checked us in. Customers came and went, with others arriving after us, being helped and leaving, and we still sat, waiting, for them to take our dog inside. There was about a three time turnover of customers being helped, while we continued to wait. After over an hour of sitting and waiting, watching others who had come after us be helped and leave, my husband finally hailed down an employee and asked why they hadn’t taken in our dog, but instead were helping others, and she tells him, “well, you’re a walk in, so you have to wait until we have time.” My husband tells her, we are NOT a walk in, but she keeps insisting that we are a walk in to him. I pulled up the appointment text on my phone, automated from the clinic, and sent the day before to my phone, confirming we DO have a 2pm appointment, and show it to her. Right after that, someone appears and takes our dog. Five minutes later, another employee comes out and says, “can you just leave him with us, and come back later to pick him up?” We told her, never mind, give me back my dog and we are never coming back here. As a business owner, it’s mind blowing what a train wreck these people are with scheduling and customer service. If I treated people the way they do, I’d have zero clientele. What a shame because Dr. Arn and Lingwall were known as the best in the business, and since VCA has corporatized their practice, the lack of customer service, incompetence, and mishandling of simple scheduling is driving away clients.
Maria, while we appreciate your kind remarks about Drs. Arn and Lingwall, we're very saddened to hear that you felt any less than taken care of upon arriving with your dog. Despite the restrictions caused by COVID, we're still very much motivated to always be organized and on the same page with our clients. We also sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding that occurred regarding your appointment. It's essential that you're always treated respectfully and that you're the recipient of top-notch customer service. The last thing we wanted to do is cause any frustrations and ask that you please email our hospital manager at [email protected] so we can further address this with you. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: He is not in pain anymore. I Love You My Kalani. Fly with angels. God Bless Him.
Experiencia positiva: Our go to vet for all our dogs' needs! Dr. Vriend actually saved one of our dogs life when she was going through liver failure. We are thankful everyday she is still with us!! Sometimes even for routine visits there can be a bit of a wait for your appointment or appointments are booked further out but it is also an ER hospital so sometimes emergencies come up so we understand. We miss the low-cost shot clinic - really wish they would bring that back!
Ali, we're proud to be here for you and your dog-care needs. Your kind feedback about Dr. Vriend is also sincerely appreciated and we're here to follow up with you about any concerns you might have. Please feel free to give us a call if you have any questions. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia negativa: My pet was burned communally, instead of privately after requesting her ashes back. There was a mix-up in the way the service was billed. I called the next day to inquire and make sure that I would be getting her ashes back, and I was assured a second time there was no issue and her ashes would be returned to me. After two weeks and three attempts at calling to see when they would be ready I was finally told that there was a mistake that had been made and she had been burn communally. The supervisor while nice, offered the amount of the communal burial back. This will never make up for not having ashes to take with me before I moved states. While the supervisor was empathetic, I do not feel like enough was done in relation to the circumstances. I advise that if you are taking an animal to be euthanized during the pandemic you explicitly make sure that every staff member you come in contact with is aware of your wishes. I was not able to be at the counter for check out. Further, communication during the intake process to get a dying cat out of my hot car & into the building took way to long despite them knowing that I was coming. Once inside, I was left immediately in the waiting area.I was not told that I would not be able to go into a room to have her euthanized. Instead I wasted valuable time in the waiting room with her in her carrier that I could have spent holding her prior to her passing had staff communicated that no other animals would be coming into the waiting area. It was a cold experience and one that ended even more terribly. I'm sorry, I cannot recommend the reliability of staff based off of this experience. My cat was 16 & I wanted to take her home with me. I can only guess if they've made any actual attempts to fix coordination during the intake process for animals that are to be euthanized. Hope so. Edit: I do not want any additional compensation, rather a public commitment to improve these processes during the pandemic.
We'd like to first offer our sincerest sympathies to you about your cat's unfortunate passing. We care deeply about doing what we can to support our clients during these uncertain times and we're so sorry you came away with a different impression. We also sincerely apologize for any mix-up with regard to your pet and we will absolutely use your feedback to better inform and improve our practices during this unfortunate pandemic. If you have any further questions, please email our hospital manager at [email protected]. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia negativa: My family and I are disappointed with today’s experience. We arrived shortly before our scheduled walk-in time. I brought my dog for IV fluids. We waited over an hour, no one knew anything about what was happening, only one doctor was in. And I could not get any questions answered. Kristen, Brittany and whoever took my walk-in appointment I didn’t even receive an apology or a call explaining what would happen and that my dog Cocho couldn’t be helped etc. y’all just took my dog back there for an hour and 15 minutes and didn’t do anything. Just wasted our time! My first visit was good, I’ve recommended this location to several others; however, not after this experience. I understand it can get busy, yet it is NO EXCUSE for Poor service and lack of communication.
Anastacia, it's disheartening that you felt your time with us was squandered. We can assure you that, despite some long waits associated with our new safety measures, our team continues to do everything we can to assist our patients, including your precious Cocho. Having an open line of communication to address all concerns is important to us and we ask that you email our hospital manager at [email protected] so we can further address this with you. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia positiva: Me and my pets have been coming here on and off for 12 years. My overall feeling for this place is not very good. Their service through the years has always been more about the money and less about my pet. Before my first dog died, he used to get his medicine here, which means the blood tests were here as well. The pricing varied everytime and no one could explain to me why. The vets were always demeaning. After he died, my sisters dog went in to be treated for an eye condition and the new vet was nicer. Willing to listen. The counter people were still cold and very much about the money.
Joclyn, it's disappointing that you would feel this way about us after having been a client of ours for 12 years. Providing helpful and accommodating veterinary care has and always will be our central priority. Furthermore, it's essential to us that we're always very clear about our services and treat our clients with the utmost respect. Your concerns are important to us and we hope you can email our hospital manager at [email protected] so we can further discuss them with you. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: If you dont love your pet, dont go here. This is the most wonderful Vet in the City Each member of this hospital is a true dog or cat nut. Once when I had decided to put my pug down, a young man on the front desk phone was so kind and caring without having ever met me or my dog. I think I shed a tear just for the power of his empathy. After seeing the vet we have managed his spinal issues for months and my boy is living a happy life again. They just care.
Sean, thank you for being so kind and supportive! We're passionate about what we do and get much satisfaction out of going the extra mile for each of our patients. It also makes us smile knowing that your precious boy is back to his old self, which is terrific news! Please let us know if you ever need anything else. Respectfully, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia negativa: The most shocking horrifying disgusting experience with a veterinarian I've ever had! I've had many cats and dogs in my 40 yrs in Las Vegas. I had heard this animal hospital was cheaper and took my sick cat in. They butchered my baby unnecessarily! Turns out she had feline leukemia and was dying, but instead of recognizing the obvious symptoms & informing me of her condition, they passed it off as just an infection and performed surgery after surgery, and kept her there in their hospital full of stitches, tubes, and drainage equipment, etc., knowing she was dying and that it wouldn't help. It put my poor kitty through so much unnecessary pain, anxiety, and suffering, just to rack up a bill to well over a thousand dollars. When I couldn't pay in full, their collections dept called me and literally said "If you don't give us all the money by tomorrow, we won't treat your cat any further and she'll be toast..." actually said "toast"!!! That's when I realized something was drastically wrong. I took her to Dr Taylor at Mt. Vista Animal Hosp., was told that any experienced vet would know just by looking at her condition, and know that she had cancer and was too ill to come back from it (dying). They also told me that all the surgery had been performed unnecessary and pointlessly. They had put my baby kitty through so much pain and suffering... Just to make more money. That's evil! No vet that cared about animals (or people) would do such a horrific thing to an innocent animal or unsuspecting pet owner. They exploited the love I had for my pet and used it like a weapon... a tool to use just to make money for themselves. Totally lacking integrity, honor, honesty, trust, compassion, expertise, and PROFESSIONAL ETHICS! It's absolutely unthinkable! Made me wonder how they treated my beloved pet when they took her into the back of the hospital where no one else could see. Desert Inn Animal Hospital is the most vile, dishonest, untrustworthy, exploitative, disgusting Veterinary service EVER! They're butchers! If you love your pets, DO NOT GO to this deceitful, cold hearted, terrible place. They don't belong in our community (or any community), and should not be allowed to stay in business. Spread the word to others you know. People need to know and be forewarned about this dangerous dreadful place.
Experiencia fantástica: I've been bringing my pets here for decades, and the staff has always been considerate, kind, and honest about the cost of treatments for the extended fur-family. Now, in this time of sheltering in place, wouldn't you know it... one of my dogs got an ear infection. The staff was amazing. We were checked in curbside; my dog was taken in the minute the vet was ready to see him, and I waited in my car; the vet called me a few minutes later with the diagnosis and treatment; my dog was returned to me at my car, along with his meds and the bill, within 5 minutes from the vet's call. I cannot thank them enough for being so proactive in social distancing, and the continued genuine concern they show for all creatures in their care.
Claire, we wanted to reach out and thank you for saying such nice things about our team, especially during this rough time in our world. It was our pleasure to attend to your dog's ear infection and work within the COVID-19 parameters to ensure you still had a pleasant experience with us. Thanks!
Experiencia fantástica: I cannot say enough good things about Desert Inn. They accommodated a friend's dog that was attacked by another dog on a Sunday afternoon. Since then I have been bringing my own dog regularly for check-ups. The staff is great. They always have a smile and something nice to say. The facility is super clean. My experience with Doctor Mong is great. I trust his knowledge, experience and judgment when it comes to my dogs care. I'm sure all of the other vets are as well. My demon dog approves
Steven, thank you so much for sharing your thoughtful feedback about Dr. Mong and our team. It's our pleasure to be accommodating and make a positive difference in the lives of the pets we see. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia negativa: My two dogs had diarrhea and I didn't make an apointment and went as a walk in. When I got there I if they did take walk ins and they said yes but they had an attitude like they didn't want to and if they were mad. After a few minutes some one came and said that they had a busy day with walkins and would be better to make an apointment or wait to see if they could see my puppies. After 15 minutes someone came and said to me that they were going to see them e after they finish with their apointment but I had to pay emergency fees for both dogs. That usually apointments were $65 but I had to pay $75. I sat while waiting I call Paradise Hospital they said they could see my puppies as walkins with in 40 minutes. As I was leaving they came to the parking lot to ask what happened. I told them I was taking my business elsewhere. Im glad I did. They made me feel like I was intruding and asking a favor. No customer service. Too expensive and not friendly. Other place charge me only 45 and the staff welcome us really nice.
Magdalena, we always strive to be as accommodating and comforting as we can be in all situations. We're sorry that you felt any less than taken care of by our team who is committed to always being timely and proactive. Your dogs are important to us and we ask that you please email our hospital manager at [email protected]. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: I love this hospital. I have taken 3 of my dogs there for years and they have always been great. When it was that time for 2 of my dogs, they were phenomenal; so sweet and caring. I recently had to take my dog in when he got attacked at the doggy park & they were great with treatment and follow up. Highly recommend.
Maria, your love and support are greatly appreciated! It's been an honor being here for you through both the good times and the challenging ones. You can always rely on us to be supportive as we're here for you whenever you need us. Thank you, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia negativa: I'm done with this place. Ever since a corporation took over, prices have gone through the roof and empathy has disappeared. I brought my dog in for an emergency. I was asked to bring her back for a recheck. It cost me nothing. However, almost from the time the "vet" came in the room, he had his hand on the doorknob. I guess my concern that she was sick didn't matter. Well it DID matter. She died. . ?
Experiencia fantástica: My boyfriend and I travel full-time with our beloved rescue dog, Copper. Annual vet trips are typically a huge headache. Finding a good vet from the road is not an easy task, and Copper isn’t what most would call an “easy patient.” Copper hates vet visits, and can become aggressiveas he feels very nervous around doctors. You can imagine how we felt when we knew a more intense vet visit was in order. Copper needed to have a lime-sized tumor surgically removed from his chest. We were briefly visiting the Vegas area, and after calling multiple vets, decided to go with Dessert Inn Animal Hospital. We went into our first consultation with lots of anxiety, crossing our fingers for a vet that we could trust. We ended up seeing Dr. Lauren Kinter. She booked out an hour for our consultation, and during that hour, she gave us her full, undivided attention. She answered every question we had, and believe me, there were many! She explained to us very clearly what Copper’s procedure and recovery would look like. She talked through our options with us, but let us make our own decisions. The prices we were given were fair, and when you factor in the care we received, they were great! We instantly trusted Lauren, and though Copper has never loved a vet before, he couldn’t stop his tail from wagging when he saw her! She did a great job with the surgery, and the support we had from Lauren during the recovery was pretty unbelievable. You can tell Lauren truly cared and was invested in Copper. We only wish we lived in Vegas so we’d never have to go to another vet again! Thank you Dr. Kinter! So glad we found you! -@aribeausoleil
Ari, thank you so much for sharing your wonderful story with us! We're passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of the pets we see and couldn't be happier that Copper took such a liking to Dr. Kinter. It was a pleasure for her to keep you informed every step of the way and assist with addressing anything you needed during Copper's recovery. Our team is very honored by your feedback and we're here for you if you ever need anything else. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: I love this place! Dr. Vriend is impeccable and the staff are all friendly and efficient. I enjoyed learning how to take the best care of my dog and his issues. The prescriptions he needed cost quite a bit, but they've done their job and he's almost back to normal again, so it was worth it to us.
Linnea, thank you so much for taking the time to say such nice things about Dr. Vriend and our team. it's been our pleasure being of assistance to your dog who we're happy to hear is feeling like himself again. If you ever need anything else, please let us know. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: Great friendly knowledgeable and helpful people I brought my husky named nanook here twice since I had both times they knew what was wrong and gave her the correct medication
Joseph, it was our pleasure to be of assistance to Nanook. We appreciate your five-star feedback and we'll be here for you if you need anything else. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia negativa: Don’t trust this place. I saw all the raving reviews, and rushed my sick cat here. I received a diagnosis which I made the gut sickening decision to put my baby down. Then read the vet’s notes that he didn’t discuss with me. Demanded a phone call. A different vet called reading only the blood work and gave a different diagnosis also said he would advise another route. But then added he would have advised putting him down. I’m left with guilt, pain, harsh “what if”, and a &500.00 bill
We're very sorry to read of the experience you describe. Please know that any recommendations we make are informed and intended to be as helpful as possible. We'd never want to cause our clients to feel like their concerns were not addressed and we'd appreciate it if you could email our hospital manager at [email protected]. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: I’ve come here twice since adopting from the animal foundation The ladies upfront are incredibly nice and sweet, they treat your animals with care and it’s always been a pleasant trip They’ll give you a complimentary checkup if you adopt from the animal foundation and even if you’re pet is adopted with a chip or spayed they’ll honor the discount They even honored my cats shots 2 weeks after his first checkup and was it only $20! Very friendly staff and will give your animals the care they need !
We love what we do and it's always our pleasure to go above and beyond for both our clients and pet patients. We're grateful that you've found us to be friendly and helpful in attending to your feline-care needs and we'll be here for you if you need anything else. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia negativa: I have taken many dogs here in the past with great results, especially under emergency situations. This was the 1st time I had taken my dog here under an emergency situation in 20 years only to have the Veterinarian totally treat my dog as if she was ready to be put down instead of trying to do something immediately. Persuaded me that her "2nd opinion" was that there isn't anything anyone can do to save my dog. So I sat and watched her get closer and closer to death while trying CBD and other ways to make her comfortable for a couple weeks resulting in putting her down on July 2018. I was trying to get my original Veterinarian but they seem to have alot of new faces. I will definitely be looking for a new Veterinarian office in the future that will do anything to try and help save my dogs rather than just putting them to sleep because they couldn't figure out that a totally apparent tumor broke and went inside her blood, which could have been fixed if she had reacted quickly instead of taking the advice of the 1st Veterinarian that gave me zero blood work results. I even had to call 2 days in a row to get in contact with her for her 2nd opinion as she just reads off the results of the 1st Veterinarian's opinion and blood work. My dog could've been saved with the proper care and I deeply regret every single day for bringing my dog here.
CJ, we know how heartbreaking it is to say goodbye to a beloved pet and you have our deepest sympathies. That being said, please know that our team always believes in exhausting all resources during situations like this in order to be as informed and as helpful as possible. We know that this has been a very trying time, and if you're willing, we'd appreciate the opportunity to further discuss this with you. Please email our hospital manager at [email protected]. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: Love the staff, always friendly and welcoming. They do a wonderful job. We have been bring our Englis springer here for 4 years and have never had an issue. They dont over charge or try to tack on a bunch of extra things you dont need. I always know my pup is in good hands
Irene, thank you for your invaluable support. Your pup is certainly very important to us and we're honored to be in a position to help and make a positive difference. Much appreciated!
Experiencia fantástica: Overall their appearances very top notch. They were quick with service and business but appearance and speediness comes with the price. I took 2 cats in here for their 1st shots and it was $330. I feel like their pricing should be a little more competitive. However with that being said I was happy over all but I will more than likely find another place to go in the future. They were kind enough not to charge me the examination fee of $60 per animal and it still came out to the $330. I really liked everything I saw but as I said I am a money saver and this isn't in my category of a great price
Travis, we're grateful for your kind words about our service as we appreciated being of help to your two wonderful cats. We're also committed to being as accommodating as we can be, and if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: Very friendly staff took care of our Brookie who had a seizure. They ran tests right away and did some x-rays. It was our first time there and an emergency which they handled beautifully. I recommend this Vet to anyone.
Shan, we appreciate your kind words as it was our pleasure to look after your Brookie and administer assistance as soon as we could. We're honored by your kind recommendation, and if there's anything else that you need, please let us know. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: Brought my baby girl Keisha to see Dr. Vriend and the entire staff was amazing! They all fell in love with her. Being a new pet daddy I want her to get better, be pain free and grow up to be an amazing dog! She was the best thing I could have ever saved (adopted). Or did she save me? Thank you VCA for taking such good care of my baby.
John, thank you for the fabulous review! Dr. Vriend and our team certainly fell in love with Keisha and are honored to be in a position to look after her best interests and make sure she's always taken care of. Thanks!
Experiencia negativa: Oct 2019 Update My dogs were vaccinated there but both caught Kennel Cough from their recent visits. One of the vets even admitted that it was "going around" at their location and her own dog had caught it when she brought it in around the same time as mine. 2018 Getting too overbooked. I stopped in as a new patient based on the recommendation of a neighbor. I had a scheduled appointment mid day Sunday. After 25 minutes of waiting and observing that nobody in the standing-room-only lobby had been called back the whole time, I told them I'd try another time and left. I guess they run vaccination clinics for reduced price at times. That's great, but when it causes you to not see your scheduled appointments anywhere near on-time, it's time to rethink either your staffing or your appointment scheduling. Based on this experience, I'll go to a different vet that respects my time better.
Experiencia negativa: All pet owners please read.. Called and made an appointment... decided to read the 1 star and 2 star reviews on this establishment. Called back and canceled. Told the gentleman on the phone we dont feel safe bringing our pet there. He laughed and said that's understandable... and hung up. The vibe I got was that this employee knew how bad things were.. After hearing that response, I am very happy we canceled
David, we're taken aback by your review, which is not reflective of the professionalism and honesty that we take to heart at our facility. Being organized and available are qualities we take very seriously and we ask that you please email our hospital manager at [email protected]. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: I have new 8 week double doodle puppy who came home with unexpected parasite. Dr Arn and staff were caring, considerate, prompt and efficient to get the puppy well and back on track in a couple days. A delay in diagnosis was resolved with texts and phone calls and expeditious remedy. As a physician myself, and thus an informed consumer, I give this animal hospital very high marks. A plus is that they are open Saturday and Sunday until 8 so emergency room visits are kept to a minimum.
Lawrence, we're so happy that we could assist your puppy, who we're glad to hear is doing better. And as someone who also works in the medical field, your gracious support really means a lot to Dr. Arn and our team. Thanks!
Experiencia negativa: Used to love these people. Now they are rude. I have used them for almost 3 years. Then they up and merge with VCA. After they merged with VCA all their clinics have stopped and when you call them on the phone they are rude and tell people to call the animal foundation. Hope you close your doors soon. You were an awesome office. I will never come back. 7/9/19 Was advised to contact their office manager via email after they saw my review. I emailed the person at the address they provided and they has been no reply. This was the second email I sent. I sent one when they answered my yelp review. I now truly see how much they really care!
Paul, we're disappointed to hear that and can promise you that we would never relent on the standards that we've set for ourselves all this time. We don't condone any behavior that is less than favorable to our clients and their needs and would like to further discuss this with you and regain your trust. Please email our hospital manager at [email protected]. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: My furbaby, Bella Luna, had been on a holistic diet and taking tinctures for her warts. Well this holistic diet (which cost a fortune), was given to us by a different vet at another hospital. Bella lost the 6lbs, but it wasn't worth it. I decided to go to DIAH at the height of her illness and we saw Dr Farnsworth. He had her feeling better in no time. And, I might add, without the steroids that she was constantly being given many yrs prior, at Flamingo VH. I couldn't afford the thousand dollar camera view that Dr Farnsworth would have liked to have done, but from her history, he figured she had IBS. I can't remember now how many years it's been, but Dr. Farnsworth has been keeping my 11 yr old companion very healthy. About a month ago she tore her ACL at the dog park on Warm Springs. (Beware if you go there. They put new grass in without leveling the ground first. You can't see the potholes. I'll never go back there) I panicked. I knew it meant an expensive surgery. So I bought a leg brace for her. I figured it would heal naturally. Dr Farnsworth explained the problem with braces. He could do the surgery himself for just a few hundred bucks more. He gave me a price right there and then. Went home, thought about it, and weighing the pros and cons decided to do the surgery. Dr Farnsworth is what a true veterinarian should be. He's got compassion and love for animals, but he also takes the owner's feelings, and finances into consideration. He even snipped a few big warts off while she was under, at no charge to me. They were a few really big ones that he could do quickly. And don't even get me started on the office personnel. They're fun but professional. Malinda, Randie, Mary Carol, Rich, and the others. All so helpful and cheery, yet patient and professional. And don't forget the pharmacy. Kellie and Robert are great. I have a bad habit of calling when Bella is on her last pill. But Kellie and Robert are constantly saving me. I do believe that my baby girl is always in the best of care when we go visit the angels at DIAH. Thank you all for your dedication.
You're so very welcome for everything! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderfully positive enthusiasm with Dr. Farnsworth as well as so many of our other staff members whom you've kindly mentioned by name in your review. It's been an honor being here in Bella's corner and making sure that she always receives our very best. If you ever need anything else, please let us know. Sincerely, VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: They take care of your pet but it does fetch a high price. Update 8/15/2019 Its nice to know that there are some vets who still show compassion to animals and clients. Because of this vet's kindness, I am rating VCA desert inn animal hospital a 5 star establishment, solely because of him. Update 7/31/2019 Called them for an exam for my pup. They boastfully asked that I would pay a 150.00 deposit. When asked why they say they require for any appointments after 6pm. I responded that I never had to do that before and my last appointment with them was just over a month ago, with the appointment time of 6:30. I am going there today and record everything in writing. I strongly believe that they often change the price of office visits sithout fully disclosing all the hidden fees until after the service is performed. If this practice continues, I will make sure to take affirmative action.
Raul, we're determined to always make a positive difference in the lives of the pets we see and you can always reach out to us if you have any questions about our services. Thank you, Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Andrew Mong is THE BEST! He took amazing care of my dog Toby until he passed. I took my two new babies Playful and Buddy today, and Dr. Mong was just as gentle and incredible.
Experiencia fantástica: Dr.Goody is incredible. He is very knowledgeable and has a wonderful bedside manner. He always answers my messages in a timely manner. We absolutely love him. The staff is always friendly no matter how busy they are. Rich, Mary Carol and the lady whose husband is a Veteran ( I can’t remember her name, sorry) are outstanding. I have been going to Desert Animal Hospital for 22 years. I trust them.
Maryosa, we can't thank you enough for your incredible support and loyalty to Dr. Goody, Rich, Mary, as well as the rest of our team over the last two-plus decades! We love lending a helping hand and making a positive difference. Sincerely, Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: They are a very caring and attentive clinic. New to the area and so glad I found them. That was almost a year ago I love the doctors and staff at Desert Inn Animal Hospital. The care has been fantastic. I had to let my beautiful Doberman Bella go over the rainbow 2 Sundays ago Dr. Lingwall has been her vet since coming to Vegas. He was so wonderful and attentive to my Bella she loved him and he cared for her also. He was wonderful. IF you are looking for a place for your fur babies I highly recommend DIAH. They truly care.
Experiencia fantástica: For the brief time I went to D.I. Animal Hospital, the service was always amazing. Reece loved everyone there and I'm sure everyone loved him. We stopped going due to moving on the other side of town and being about 45min away. I thankfully was able to find the same exceptionaal service closer to my house and Reece loves the staff and they sure love him too :) THANKS DESERT INN! YOU GUYS ROCK!
Nicole, thank you for the lovely words! We think Reece is amazing and we're so happy to have gotten to know both you and your precious pet. We are grateful for the relationship we have with you guys, and if you ever need anything else, please let us know. Sincerely, Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: I have used Desert Inn Animal Hospital for four years now, and I especially love Dr. Franco. She clearly loves the animals she cares for and stays on top of the latest advancements in veterinary medicine. The staff is personable and accommodating whenever I have questions or need to make an appointment.
Amy, thank you so much for sharing how much you respect and support Dr. Franco and our team, who couldn't be more honored to be here in your corner and ensure you always have a pleasant and satisfying experience with us. Thanks!
Experiencia negativa: After being a loyal customer for many, many years and spending thousands of dollars at this location, I am happy to say I will never bring any of my dogs back. The 1st time I am ever late to an appointment (10 min), they make me a "walk in." Although was upset, they assured me they would see my dog anyway. After over an hour of waiting with my newly acquired "walk in" status, they tell me that they won't see me after all. I asked to speak to the office manager and she tried to belittle me and pretty much tell me that only their time is valuable because she couldn't say anything after I told her that most of the time I arrive way early and they don't ever see me on time. She pretty much said that their time is extremely importantant and 10 minutes makes a huge difference for them. So I guess only their time matters, and could care less about the customer. You'd think that when you pay TOP DOLLAR, your get TOP CUSTOMER SERVICE... I guess the good news is now I won't have to drive 35 minutes to see vetenerain's office that is overpriced and full of arrogant workers. PS, went down the street to Tropicana Animal Hospital and was seen in 5 minutes without and appointment.
Jaime, it's very upsetting to read your review as we don't believe it is reflective of our mission here at VCA Desert Inn. Not only are we committed to being prompt in seeing our pet patients but we believe in always being respectful and considerate, and any behavior to the contrary is not tolerated by us. Please email our hospital manager at [email protected] so we can discuss this with you a little more. Sincerely, Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: I have been bringing my cat here for the past 10 months since relocating from Florida. I absolutely love it here. They are always professional and so nice. The staff and the doctors are wonderful. I give them 5 stars. I highly recommend this place.
Andrea, we can't thank you enough for your continued trust in our veterinary team, who are honored to look after your cat's needs and provide pleasant pet care. Thank you for your recommendation!
Experiencia negativa: This place is the worst.... Dr. Franco is the worst doctor. I went here for health certificate to bring to Honolulu. I arrived the doctor did 5 minutes exam on the cat. they do not have Tick medication and made me run to Walmart, and pet smart. I came back the doctor gave me the health certificate with multiple error entries. My cats were only 2 years old, but she put down 4. She typed the wrong address on the form and I asked her to correct it, and she put down wrong description of the cat on the form. After having asked her to correct the forms three times, she was upset. She charged me 1400 dollars for two cats for health certificate where normally it costs 100 dollar each for the cats. They said the whole transaction took four hours that is why they are charging 1400. Lack of medication is hospital’s irresponsibility, entry error is doctors responsibility . I even went down to two different places and got the medication for them, and they are charging me this ridiculous amount of money. I think they are in humane. Bunch of incompetent staffs and doctor. In the end, when I refused to pay 1400 hundred, they charged me fees of examination, and confiscated the health certificate. Those people can’t treat human like human. I wonder what they do to animals. Probably even worse.
Eileen, it's upsetting to read your review given that our entire veterinary team works diligently to provide our clients with everything they need in terms of pet care. We are very passionate about having the best interests of all pets and would never do something that we thought was not the case. Please contact our hospital manager at [email protected] so we can further discuss this with you. Sincerely, Desert Inn Animal Hospital
Experiencia fantástica: They're really good, and i will take my furrybaBY there any time, as he does go there, Wednesday's & Sunday's it's and half price $$$$. 5⛦✔ #LOVETHEM.
Experiencia fantástica: I have taken my cat here twice and both times have been pleasant. The Vets and assistants are very friendly and knowledgeable. I also love that they have a separate entrance and waiting area for my cat. I will most likely come back here if I have any other issues with my cat and I would recommend this place to others.
Experiencia fantástica: I've been taking my cat and my 13 yr old beagle mix dog to Desert Inn Animal Hospital for several years now & I can't begin to tell you just how happy I am with the service my fur babies and I constantly receive from the entire staff at D.I.A.H. The Veterinarians all appear to be extremely knowledgeable and gentle when it comes to treating my precious little furballs. In addition, the members of the support staff also go out of their way to treat all of the animals in the reception area with love and compassion. I would recommend this veterinary hospital to any and every one looking for a good, loving place to take your animals.
Experiencia fantástica: We are into the recovery period of the first of two leg surgeries on our dog Remy. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Arn, Dr. Mong and the staff. Long story short they have exhibited a genuine care and concern for us and our dog at every opportunity. I feel fortunate to have them and I'm looking forward to the result at the end of recovery.
Experiencia fantástica: I brought in my cat Leeloo because her tail had suddenly gone limp. I'd heard great things about Desert Inn Animal Hospital and knew they had more affordable services, so I made an appointment. The staff up front were so nice and helpful. The vet tech (Sophia?) and Dr. Rayburn were professional and kind. After an exam and x-ray, it turned out Leeloo had a sprained tail. We were given some medication and able to go home in a timely manner. Thank you, Desert Inn!
Experiencia fantástica: The staff is super friendly and eager to help. I was looking for a doctor to crop and dock my puppy's ears and tail. Dr. Lingwall came highly recommended by other Doberman owners so I scheduled a consultation. Unfortunately I for that I had my own medical appointment scheduled for the same time. I walked in to see if Dr. Lingwall could possibly squeeze me in. I was given paperwork to fill out, before I had a chance to finish it we were in the exam room and Capone was in his arms giving him puppy kisses. I love that Dr. Lingwall has Dobermans as well and knew the aesthetic I was looking for. He offered to show me pictures of his work, each photo of the crops were unique and tailored to the pup. I'm looking forward to seeing the results of Capone's procedure.
Experiencia fantástica: I've taken our two Weimaraners to DIAH for three years now and wouldn't think of using another veterinarian. They have always cared for my dogs like they were their own. I get an explanation in terms I can understand completely and we are all treated with kindness and respect. Since I posted this one of my dogs has sadly passed away. She lived to be 16 which is well past the life expectancy of a dog this size. I credit the care of DIAH for keeping her healthy and at my side.
Experiencia negativa: The vets here are all about their bonus/commission income, brought this up to Dr. Arn before. I get its a business, but to spend thousands chasing a diagnosis that isn't even there is crazy. I did this on a cat back in 2015-2016. Then bring in a brand new healthy kitten in today, and the vet says. Well most breeders want a full respiratory test, or blood work, we should do X, Y and Z while we're at it. The breeder has been doing this for 10+ years, says none of that was needed and was a sales pitch. Just a wellness check on a new kitten is needed. Called breeder's vet, breeder's vet agreed. The funny part is the vet that did the exam was more interested in the contract on the cat to see what was needed to be performed than what I was saying verbally. "Dr.Goody" even said, can I take a copy of this contract with me? Please doctor... tell me what you need with a purchase contract between a buyer and breeder to put in your health exam? You'd think with such and established business as Desert Inn has, that they wouldn't need to suck every dollar they can out of the customer, not to mention put the animal through that much stress. Plus, you can tell most of the vet's are just out of school or not very much experience, they appear very young.
Experiencia fantástica: We don't have to wait long for our walk-in visits, they get Buddy taken care of quickly. They also keep the place pretty clean even though there are doggies all over the lobby. The pups are happy to see so many other pups. Overall, its a pleasant visit to Desert Inn Animal Hospital.
Experiencia fantástica: I'm proud to say the staff responds well to extreme emergencies. My dog was hit by car and I immediately brought him to this hospital because I wasn't sure if he was in a coma or died instantly. They were at their busy hours but still went out of their way to check my dog after bringing him to the back. After a few minutes, the veterinary doctor confirmed he was already dead as we cried. The only fee I paid before I left was for his cremation which is done at the Pet cemetery on Craig Rd. after deceased pets are transported there. I thank the doctor for allowing me to spend a few moments with him before saying good bye...
Experiencia fantástica: BEST IN...dare I say the country?? YES! Believe it!! I am acquainted with MANY dog owners/lovers all over the country and in talking with them over the years I am convinced that my vet group is the best of the best. Both the staff and the veterinarians at Desert Inn Animal Hospital are top notch! I travel across town every time one of my furry friends needs their check ups or a sickness exam, etc., because I will go nowhere else. I have to give a special shout out to Dr Arn though as he amazes me!! He is kind, compassionate and SO knowledgeable! Dr. Arn keeps himself always on the cutting edge. I can't tell you how many times I've talked to him and he'd just come from a vet conference of some sort, or he's pulled a book out to show & teach me something new whether it be nutrition related or treatment related. His love for all pets truly shows in all he does. Jason's wife ~Lisa Puckett
Experiencia fantástica: Our little "Buddy" needed to get vaccines. The clinic got him registered as a walk-in; first come first serve basis. We sat and waited our turn and watched all the other dogs wishing they could go run and play instead of being at the vet! The staff was friendly and our turn was swiftly upon us. The tech took him back and in a blink of an eye he was done and ready to leave. It was a pleasant experience and I recommend D.I. Animal Clinic for your doggies medical needs!!!
Experiencia fantástica: Dr.Goody took great care of my dog Sparky he was having major pain in back legs and hips area. Dr. Goody gave TLC and meds lol which are helping.
