Far East Animal Care Center: Opiniones
Experiencia negativa: Dr. Chavarria needs to learn English so he can relay information to the patient's owners. He is NOT sympathetic in the least but will sure nickle and dime you to death prior to saying your pet has no chance of survival. I've been rescuing pets my entire adult life and can say this is the absolute worst experience I've ever gone through. My cat had a mass on the side of his face that I'm sure could have been surgically incised and removed but instead, Dr. Chavarria chose to give me no alternatives. I will NEVER go back again. I spent exactly $754 for nothing. I did choose to get a paw print and it cost $61 for a piece of wood with no string to hang it with. I could have made one myself out of gum that would have looked much better. Cheaply made for a last impression of your loved one. They also make you wait in your car with your pet until it's your turn. Big inconvenience during summer months. This place felt very cold and heartless to me. Not a good feeling when you're there for a traumatic event in your life. Also, while I was waiting, they had an exterminator walking through the entire waiting room spraying while customers sat there breathing in whatever he was spraying. This was during the week day. Can't they do this at night? Also, the TV was set to animal surgeries with blood and gore. Do you think customers want to see this kind of thing while they are waiting? And the scale to weigh animals is sitting to the side of one of the waiting rooms and I saw four people (including myself) trip over it when exiting the exam room. Can't you move this to a safer place away from people? I've had bilateral hip replacements and almost fell to the floor. Never again. This is a warning to first timers so you can dodge a bullet.
Experiencia negativa: Cat was taken due to dog attack. They charged a deposit of $400 only to inform us our cat had a dislocated arm. Expressed financial struggle and instead of working on a payment plan like most weekday clinics, we were told either pay the $625 upfront for the treatment or take our cat home. I’d usually take my cat to adobe animal hospital off trawood, but sadly they’re closed weekends. I would not recommend bringing your beloved furry companion to this place. They do not know customer service and the eye rolling was definitely unnecessary.
Experiencia negativa: I recently visited this clinic to get my puppy checked and vaccinated, and unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. The two staff members at the front desk were extremely rude and unwelcoming. As someone who suffers from anxiety, I was already feeling nervous about the visit, and their attitude made the situation much worse. I simply wanted to make sure my puppy was healthy and up to date on her shots. Compassion and kindness go a long way, especially in a veterinary setting where pet owners may already be stressed. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving customer service at the front desk.
Experiencia fantástica: Good service, staff is helpful and informative. They took great care of our pitbull.
Experiencia positiva: It's always crowded, and the wait times are quite lengthy, even early in the morning. I went yesterday to get my dog's vaccines, and she had a seizure while we were waiting in the lobby! I rushed her up to the ladies in reception, in a panic and in tears, and they took her to the back immediately. I'm thankful we were there at the time, since I live in Horizon, and there's no telling what could've happened had we been at home. The ladies were comforting, offering tissues and a bottle of water while I freaked out. My dog had bloodwork and x-rays, and we were given anti-seizure medications. Dr. Madrid was attentive, and he answered all of my questions. I will return.
Experiencia fantástica: This hospital is absolutely phenomenal — I cannot recommend it enough to anyone who truly cares about their pet receiving the best of care. Dr. Brandi and her team are incredible, and you can tell they take real pride in what they do. I have taken my cat Luna (who is literally my child) to this hospital for two separate surgeries — one in August 2024 and another in February 2026 — and both times she was treated like a queen. They genuinely care about their patients’ well-being and do everything they can to help. As a devoted pet parent, it is terrifying to be in a situation where your pet needs medical care and you're having to trust someone else to care for them. But the best thing you can do is take them somewhere you know they will be in trusted hands — and that is exactly what you get with Dr. Brandi and her staff. I am beyond grateful for the hard-work, dedication, and love they have shown my girl Luna. <3
Experiencia positiva: Friendly staff. Very informative on your pets check ups and needs.
Experiencia fantástica: Came for an emergency and they are now our regular vet. Very caring. If your pet has to stay, they send texts with updates and photos. Can't beat the hours either.
Experiencia negativa: This place is absolutely horrible if I could give them no stars I would. I took my dog there once she's a mastiff and around 130 lbs. The girls there were afraid and lost control of her. I had to go to the back to get my dog who was in a corner scared and shaking, we immediately left. A few years later same dog got hurt around 8:00 p.m and it was an emergency my mastiff had broken her leg and could not move they told us it was a 2 hour wait..my dog was yelping and crying in pain and a 2 hour wait was cruel. I then went to el paso animal urgent care on the west side yes its far but well worth the drive they took her in right when we got there the girls who helped were amazing and were not afraid, my dog did not fight when we put her on their cart to roll her in. I then got a text from far east animal vet saying the 2 hour wait is now a 3 hour wait because of another emergency...if i were to of waited my dog would be in pain even longer. Anyways, the ladies took care of my dog and were just amazing they made me feel at ease that they could handle her but unfortunately because of my dogs weight and age plus where the break was (high on her shoulder area) we had to put her down but the ladies who did not know me nor my dog made us feel comfortable and showed compassion. It was a very hard night I could not stop crying one moment she was playing and the next I lost her. The el paso urgent care group are amazing and so incredibly thoughtful. I will always recommend them.
Experiencia fantástica: My experience was good my daughter needed surgery, they got her in and out and everything went great
Experiencia fantástica: I was hesitate in coming here to put my baby Blue to sleep because of the bad negative reviews. But all we received was compassion they understood our pain and the staff and Dr. were wonderful. They totally made the process 100 better. THANK YOU very much for the set up and for being very understanding.
Experiencia negativa: I took my pet in really sick, the vet suggested running tests for $600. I said I couldn’t afford it, I still ended up paying $200 for medication. My dog wasn’t getting better so I went back, ran tests for $400, and got more medication ended up paying $900 plus we had to take my dog in for additional medication that they had to administer for 3 days for $250 each day. At that point we knew my dog wasn’t doing well, we had made the decision that it was okay to say good bye to her but this vet insisted not to do that. We continued trying to give her the medication but she would spit it out. She wasn’t eating or even walking anymore. She kept getting worse so we decided to go to another vet to help us with euthanasia but our girl didn’t make and she passed alone at home while we were at work and that was exactly what we were trying to avoid. Had this vet respected our decision of getting her euthanized she would have passed in peace with us by her side, but sadly we listed to this vet and she didn’t make it. I strongly believe all they wanted is to get as much money out of us and didn’t really prioritize the condition that my dog wasn’t in when we initially took her. They told me they wouldn’t euthanize unless there is no other treatment for the dog or if the dog is 14 years or older and if we wanted to euthanize we could just surrender her. Not anyone in the right mind would surrender a sick dog, not only a sick dog but that dog was part of our family and we weren’t just trying to get rid of her. I will never go back to this vet that I unfortunately had been going to for years. This was the worst experience I’ve ever gone through concerning our pets.
Experiencia negativa: Never going back here again. It used to be a decent place. But recently after making my dog, who was having trouble breathing, wait FIVE hours he was not even seen. Just as disturbing they take your dog to the back to be examined by the faceless man who calls himself a vet while you wait IN THE EXAM ROOM WHERE THERE IS AN EXAM TABLE! After waiting over 4 hours outside and almost 2 hours in the exam room I was told my pup wouldnt be seen. Equally disturbing was the amount customers were paying. $600, $700, $800 for what was apparently a healthy dog. they literally walked in wagging their tail. and you dont get your dog back until its paid. this is not a hospital but simply a money raking vaccination clinic now. its turning into a butcher shop like the supposed hospital on Airway who, just like here, took my dog to the back and i never saw him alive again. and the staff seem to be ok with all of the above while they smile in your face. If you can make the trip consider Ark Animal Hospital in Alamogordo. They even have chiropractic that has helped my dog with bad hips. The roundtrip and exam will take less than the wait time here. There is a special place waiting for this guy when he passes to the next realm. And he wont be able to take his shiny new corvette.
Experiencia negativa: Went in to put our 15 month old cat down! He had blood wrk at another vet but the cremation and puttin him down for him to suffer less was our thoughts! Went in with blood work from other vets and they wanted to charged me an office visit of $64 and they would detemine the outcome!!! Thats ridiculous when we had paper work saying his stats are low! No compassion at all they just wanted extra money instead of reviewing anything!!! Not the place to go if you want your pets to be really cared for!! Would not recommend this place to no one ! The animal hospital on wedgewood shows alot of compassion and care!! Would recommend them!!!
Experiencia negativa: They would rather see your pet die than accept donations for their care. My dog had Parvo and they put money over the health of a pet. Did not want to accept a donation for her care because of a piece of paper, even though they spoke with the organization that was donating and saw that they were legit. Don’t send your pet there. I am hoping to raise this up further.
Experiencia negativa: Very disappointed with their service. We took our dog there, for what we considered an emergency. To start off the receptionist was not too pleasant, then they charged us upfront without even seeing anyone yet. I asked what the charge covered and she immediately said "this is just the charge to be seen, everything else is extra." I understand that, but it seems that the most important thing to them is the money. After being taken to the room to wait, we were told that they would take our dog to the back to be checked out. I didn't like that. Our dog is our baby, we want to be there when he's being checked. After he was checked, the dr finally came to the room and immediately started telling us that our dog was sluggish when walking....something we knew, maybe if we would have been with him while being checked, we could have told him. Regardless, that was not the reason we'd taken him in. He didn't seem concerned about anything we were telling him. All he kept saying is he wanted to do all these tests on him, but never addressed our concerns. I feel that money is the most important thing there not the animals. Hoping to never need an er for our dog, but if we ever do, I will never take him there!!
Experiencia fantástica: Jake was my companion for over eleven years, and I experienced significant grief at his passing due to cancer. I had to make arrangements for his cremation and subsequently obtain his ashes. The personnel at the Far East Animal Care Center treated me with outstanding respect and compassion during this challenging period. They provided a range of memorial packages that were both convenient and reasonably priced. When they took Jake to prepare him for cremation, they exhibited exceptional attentiveness and care in handling his deceased body. The staff recognized my profound sorrow and offered consolation. They returned all items that accompanied Jake at the time of his drop-off. I miss my dog daily and wish he were still here to provide loyalty and companionship during my times of need. Ironically, it was the same clinic where he received his initial vaccinations from individuals attempting to find him a home as a puppy. He was the last puppy available for adoption, and I was fortunate to bring him into my life.
Experiencia fantástica: They processed the remains of our recently departed Bella in a timely manner and were very empathetic regarding our grieving about our loss.
Experiencia negativa: Everything was good except that after they take your dog in and charge you, you don’t get any feedback from the veterinary who saw your dog. I have a vet name, but no clue what the vet did, and not a single comment on their evaluation. The receptionist reads the instructions for the meds and sends you on your way.
Experiencia positiva: Good service but long wait times. When I went in I told them my dog couldn't walk. Waited hours and then they just mentioned cut on her head. Didn't check leg which turned out to be displaced hip till hours later and finally took xray and had to keep her overnight. Should have been first thing they checked instead of having me waiting 4 hours.
Experiencia fantástica: Very kind people. We took in our Bella to say our good byes and staff was very kind and helpful. It was very hard to go through this and they made it so peaceful for her. Thank you for helping us through this heartbreak ❤️
Experiencia fantástica: I can’t say enough great things about Far East Animal Care Center. I have been bringing my cats and dogs here for 13 years, and I would not trust their care to anyone else. Whether it’s routine checkup, vaccinations, or a more serious health concern, they always take the time to explain every detail, present ALL the options, and answer ALL of my questions patiently. Thanks to their exceptional care, all of my pets have lived long healthy lives. A very special mention to Dr. Darlin who is my pets primary veterinarian. Thank you to the entire team at Far East Animal Care Center. It takes a TEAM of professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly compassionate people for ultimate success. Thank you for all you do for the care of my cats and dogs, past and present, you are appreciated.
Experiencia negativa: DO NOT BRING YOUR BABIES HERE. UNLESS YOU PAY THEM $600 UPON WALKING IN THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING TO HELP YOUR PET REGARDLESS OF HOW DIRE THE SITUATION IS. My mom’s cat started seizing out of nowhere while I was at work. We were debating taking her here or going across to Juarez, but as soon as we got on the car her cat started screaming and seizing even harder so we decided to come here. Between me leaving work and getting to this place, it had already been about an hour and a half and she was doing really bad. About 5 mins away I called just to make sure they took emergencies and they let me know it would be a $400-$600 deposit IF they take her in as an emergency. I wish I would have known that meant they weren’t gonna do anything AT ALL until paid. They did take her to the back as soon as we got in but basically immediately told us they weren’t gonna do anything to help her until we paid the $600 DEPOSIT. In my opinion it was extremely obvious my mom’s kitty was probably not going to make it and at this point it didn’t seem like they cared. My mom asked if they could at least give her meds to stop the seizure but they refused. So we were going to pay them $600 to do what? Tell us she was dying? Ultimately, we decided to leave with her and bring her to Juarez. We brought her to Ohana animal hospital and immediately upon seeing her they jumped into action and started working on her no questions asked. They did not even bring up payment till much, much later. Unfortunately, it was too late and she went into cardiac arrest and passed. The vets at Ohana are clearly in the right field and still care more about the animals they treat over the money. Going to this “care center” first was a huge mistake. This whole thing is extremely disappointing because about 8 yrs ago my 17 yr old cat lost control of her bowels and back legs and I brought her here. The vet who saw me was very sweet, gave her medication and gave me my options without demanding payment first. I decided to put her down but having remembered that they treated me so well during that traumatic experience, I thought they would do the same for my mom and her baby. I’m not sure what changed but clearly it’s been a change for the worse. Would absolutely not recommend if you love your pets and expect them to be cared for in an emergent situation.
Experiencia fantástica: The staff was very kind and professional. I have never had a veterinarian ask what they can do to make me feel better, but everyone was beyond willing to help in any way they could. This was the best experience I’ve ever had with a vet and I can’t recommend them enough.
Experiencia fantástica: My experience was great when I went to take my pup for emergency attetion they did a fast check in to get my pup in. I love there attention cause they right away in they're nice persons attending and very amazing and they took very good attention of my pup!! Love this animal clinic I will highly recommend. The only thing I didn't like is that the next day we went for check up we waited like 4 hrs to go in!! But other than that I love there work!!
Experiencia positiva: I actually went back and deleted my one star review from a year ago. I have been bringing my fur baby to this care center for several years now. I have had bad and frustrating experiences, but also good and kind ones. The wait times ARE always crazy. They are usually very busy and I can always expect to wait 2-4 hours to be seen. There are a few vet techs and receptionists, that are truly in the wrong field and lack the most basic of customer services skills. I have had my share of conflicts at this place and have written nasty reviews. But in all fairness, I keep coming back because more often than not, they have helped me and my fur babies. Dr. Vazquez is our favorite vet ever. He has been my senior dog’s vet since he was a puppy. He is kind, compassionate, and I always feel like no matter how busy they are, he takes the time to address all my concerns and questions. I have also had the misfortune of having a pet pass away at home. I brought him in to get cremated and all the staff and vet techs interacted with were very kind and compassionate. What really motivated me to rewrite this review was my visit this past Saturday. I came in with a bleeding doggy and I was stressed and crying because of a terrible experience at the emergency animal hospital on Airway. Both gentlemen that were there were super kind and helpful. They even offered us hot chocolate and brought my dog a bowl so I could give him water. They also kept coming in to clean the blood on the floor and told me not to worry about the mess by poor baby was making. Dr. Brandi made sure I knew she understood I was scared and talked me through what she thought was happening. She calmly explained our options and listened to my thoughts and feelings concerning hospitalization and treatment options. She also told me what to watch out for and assured me she would be there if we needed to come back. After a really stressful night for us, this place really stepped up for me and my fur baby. Thank you to the two gentlemen who were there that night and to Dr. Brandi for helping us. You all were really a blessing that night.
Experiencia negativa: Our dog just died today, because they didn’t take my wife’s warning serious. Our dog blue was a French bulldog, he was a rescue that brought so much to me and my wife’s lives. He helped my wife get through the death of her mother and in doing that helped me as well. He was a loving dog that deserved to be spoiled and he was. He had to have surgery on his ear from a spider bite and my wife told the vet and his staff how he suffered from extreme anxiety and that he needed something to keep him calm. They ignored her and gave him nothing until his surgery. Then when he woke up he had a severe panic attack so they sedated him again and then tried waking him up again. It wasn’t till the 4th time that they decided to call my wife to tell her to go see them cause our dog was not doing well. She told the vet how much she emphasized about his anxiety and how he would have massive panic attacks that put strain on him. So when she got there she saw how bad he was and not even 20 minutes later he had a stroke in his sleep and passed. What pisses me off more is that they knew and just took it as a over caring dog mom and ignored her. Now we have to deal with the loss cause of their ignorance. Rest in peace my little one we will always remember and love you.
Experiencia negativa: Stupid did not do anything to my pet kitten, made my family pay 200$ just to not do anything to save her!! Justice for every pet they did not do anything to save them
Experiencia negativa: I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received during my recent visit. After waiting an hour past my scheduled appointment time, I approached the front desk to confirm that I would still be seen. Unfortunately, another 30 minutes passed before I was called in—only to answer a few basic questions and then wait yet another 30 minutes. In total, I spent two hours waiting and received no actual service. What made this experience even more frustrating was watching other customers come and go within 30 minutes while I continued to wait. If, for any reason, I am not welcome at your clinic, I would appreciate being informed rather than having my time wasted. This experience reflects extremely poor customer service, and I hope steps will be taken to ensure that no other patients are treated this way.
Experiencia fantástica: Highly recommend! Our dog had a sticker in between his eye hairs and they quickly and efficiently took him back and within 5 minutes had him back out to us! Couldn’t ask for better service, front desk lady was incredibly sweet and welcoming as well!
Experiencia negativa: Literally the worst service I’ve ever seen! My kids took our dog in because she was attacked by another dog, she couldn’t walk right and she was bloody. They kept telling my kids they were gonna charge us $600 to see her as an emergency yet they took her in almost 2 hours later! How is that an emergency visit we have to wait 2 hours. Second I called to see if they had taken her in yet while I was on my way they lied and told me yes, when I pulled up they had barely walked her in. Mind you no one came out to assess her at all even though my kids told them she was having trouble breathing. & to top it off the vet herself comes in to talk to me & before she tells me anything she threw an invoice infront of me. The tech that came in was the worst & the “practice supervisor” needs to learn customer service. All these people want is money and they refuse to give you updates until you pay. The only good thing about this place is the blond woman in the front desk & the woman that was at the second window. Do not bring your babies here! 10000% not recommended. If I could leave negative stars I would.
Experiencia negativa: worst service ive ever witnessed in any clinic EVER , great receptionist though. west texas on top of there service:)
Experiencia negativa: Took my puppy and he was feeling sick with Parvo and they did nothing to help him right away they only cared about getting payment instead of helping pets. They charged us so much and lied that he would make it especially for the shot just for him to pass away and when I told them we were getting our card from home they left him to die there until we got the card to help him. He could’ve made it had he been helped right away never bring your sick pet here at all they will take your money and not care about your pets well being. Please bring this to everyone’s attention we love you Rocky and we will miss you every day
Experiencia fantástica: My puggy passed away. I called them for cremation options and I drove him there and the staff was so amazing they were compassionate and always so caring and went over their options and I chose everything they told me it would take up to 2 weeks but I got him back a week later and they were just as compassionate as the day we took our Thor to them.
Experiencia negativa: Less than one star. Person at the counter should find another job. To walk in with your baby on their deathbed to be told in a cold hard voice there is a 3 hour wait. Go home we weill call you. Please do not waste your time. They do not have any compassion for animals. It's about the job and the money.
Experiencia negativa: Nearly an identical experience as the review left by blu. Hours later and our dog is having seizures and whimpering in pain.
Experiencia negativa: Called 3 days ago. Asked if they had a Veterinarian that had knowledge on exotic pets. The receptionist told me that Dr. Brandi was trained in exotic pets. I gave all my information and she told me to be here at 8 pm when her shift started. Even today I sent a message thru their portal. Came to the clinic and apparently Dr. Brandi had an emergency but no one there had the minimal courtesy to have notify me that there was an emergency and Dr. Brandi was not available. When I asked about the email another female staffmember said that they don't read the messages sent only the office manager.
Experiencia negativa: My dog was in a life-or-death situation where every minute mattered, yet the staff were slow to respond to the emergency. When my dog was at the end of his life, we asked to see him so we could spend our final moments together. During this deeply painful time, some of the staff members stood behind us laughing and being obnoxious which came across as incredibly disrespectful and inconsiderate while we were grieving. I did not appreciate the lack of urgency, compassion, and professionalism shown during such a critical and heartbreaking moment. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone
Experiencia negativa: We had the absolute worse experience at this vets office over the Labor Day weekend. We took Lola in on Saturday night after what we found out was a seizure. They sent her back out to us in such bad shape not even offering her hospitalization or c T scans to diagnose the problem but yet we were already paying over 1000 dollars anyways. Lola didn't eat and walked in circles all night so we took her back and the vet that morning the female was rude unempathetic and acted bothered because she kept swimming her vet techs in to talk to us and she refused to. When she finally came in she was disrespectful and annoyed. Her name is Dr Darlin . We asked how to give the medications if she was out of it and she said she had no problem giving the meds and wouldn't even bother giving us advice or anything . We had no idea how to take care of a dog who had a seizure. We took her home and she didn't eat at all. She walked in circles around the couch in a daze. Darlin claimed it was the medication and never asked about a c t scan after the bill continued to rise. This is our love we had her for 9 years. We took her back on Monday and the office denied seeing her . We didn't know what to do so we took her to airway emergency vet and the vet they said she looked horrible. The vet there was compassionate and explained everything to us. We had to put her to sleep by that time because this far east very kept giving us the run around and making money off of us !So this vets office let her go way before they should have and never gave us options or anything . I'm disgusted and I would be careful with these people. I will report them to the better business bureau. Your best bet is to go to TLC where we have been going for years or any other clinic. Not this place .
Experiencia negativa: This place is absolutely terrible. I took my dog in for a C-section, and the staff claimed one of the puppies was stuck, making the procedure impossible. After I signed the paperwork and went home to get the payment, I was told my puppy had passed away just minutes after I paid. They also gave me incorrect information about the puppies’ genders. The front desk staff was extremely rude and dismissive, especially after I spent $2,500 on the procedure. I was also charged nearly $300 for a check-up that was supposed to be $15. I strongly advise anyone to avoid this place and take their pets elsewhere. Ladies upfront think they run the place. I’m spending money on a pet I love if you don’t like being ask questions go work at another place
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent Service. Staff and Vet are very compassionate, caring, and professional. Took in our dying dog and were treated very well. Thank you Far East Animal Care Center.
Experiencia negativa: Don't put you are open for 24hrs on Google Maps when you are really open at 8 am. This is my second time back in the last week because you had no rabies tags.
Experiencia negativa: Recently our beloved dog passed away and we called the hospital to have him cremated. We had used the same hospital and were expecting the same type of service. However I was disappointed to find out that they didn’t have more than one technician to help take our deceased dog who weighed over 70 pds from our care! Nor the decency to bring a stretcher out, when questioned about protocol she didn’t even know and made a rude smirk! So we took upon ourselves to help her which made the whole situation even worse! I can only hope that his remains are treated with dignity because his body was not and very devastating as a family to have to witness this after his death. I will never return to this place and would definitely not recommend to ANYONE!!
Experiencia fantástica: They are so caring to final ending for 2 of our dogs. We miss them alot. Thank you for taking care of them in the end Dominus 6/2022 Jake 8/2025
Experiencia fantástica: My buddy Oliver was feeling sick, started vomiting and didn't want to eat his food. I took him to get some medical attention at Far East Animal Care Center and the doctor took proper care of him. Great doctor and awesome staff, although these days they're inundated with patients, but even still they did a good job. 08-12-2024. Took him in again for a detached nail. They took very good care of him.
Experiencia negativa: DO NOT TAKE PETS HERE ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY DID A REVIEW AND THEY DELETED IT TOOK PUPPY FOR EMERGENCY PAID ALMOST 1000$ of the 2,600$ they requested. DOCTOR SAID PUPPY WAS FINE A FEW HOURS LATER PUPPY DIED DO NOT TAKE YOUR BABIES HERE ALL THEY CARE FOR IS THE MONEY AND LIE !!!!!!!
Experiencia fantástica: Had a great experience. Luz was very friendly and patient with Coco. I asked her if it was possible to keep her by my side for as long as possible and she did everything in the room. I will return back.
Experiencia positiva: The vet techs/vet assistants here do a lot of work. They definitely deserve a much more respectable wage than what they get paid. Shame on the doctors. Fast food workers are making more than the poor techs here.
Experiencia fantástica: Thank you to far east animal care for taking good care of my dog Rocky, He made a fast and full recovery! Special thanks to Dr Gabriel Vasquez, Autumn and the supportive staff!
Experiencia fantástica: The staff and doctors at Far East Animal Care Center were some of the most patient and nicest people. I would 100% recommend them to anyone. They were happy to help find our cat the help he needed to feel better, and when he needed to stay overnight, they actually texted me updates and sent pictures of my sweet boy periodically. He is getting much better, and as much as I loved the clinic, I hope I won't have another reason to come again soon! Dr. Madrid and Dr. Chavarria were the main doctors to help us, and they were both extremely helpful and amazing.
Experiencia negativa: I am quite emotional right now so please bear with me. I took in a rescue kitten and after going through the prognosis yesterday night, and it being very grim, my son and I had to make the heart wrenching decision to put her to sleep yesterday. I had a previous rescue cat that my son took there for emergency care, right away the cost was 600.00 for blood work, x rays, etc. That time she ended up dying while there. Nothing further could be done for her. The ashes and paw print were included and it was around that price for everything. Now with this kitten I took in yesterday they told me it was a 300.00 charge to get her ashes back on top of the 600.09 plus a little over a hundred for the paw print. That would make everything over a thousand dollars. I’m a widow on a single income and I couldn’t afford to get the ashes back. This was devastating to me and my son. We were both crying, very emotional and upset due to the circumstances and I’m not in the position to argue about the cost of things at that time.what can we do we are completely vulnerable. I just wish there was more understanding and compassion with regard to that. I don’t understand why now there was an additional charge to get her ashes back of 300.00. I now look back and regret leaving her there yesterday I wish I would have just taken her body back home and I could have buried her. What’s done is done but I’m heartbroken. To be fair the staff was professional and the facility was clean but I don’t think I will go back. Not that it matters.
Experiencia fantástica: Good vet clinic. Never had a problem here and the diagnosis is accurate and the recommendations are reasonable. I have no complaints. I do recommend this place.
Experiencia negativa: I went here to get vaccine. It says they are open 24hrs and on the weekends half price off vaccine, since it was so popular, so I went on a weekend at 9PM, thinking less busy. The lady at the front tells me the weekend price runs only from 8am to 8pm.. So ok its $27 regular price. I agreed, but 10 mins later she tells me that there is an extra $50 overnight charge, because I am coming off their business hrs. She saids it says it on their website. I looked at their website it says no where there is a overnight charge on vaccine. The lady keeps on repeating it says it on their website. Well here is a screenshot of their website the opening hrs says from 8am to 8am signifying it's 24hrs and it's says nowhere the regular hrs is 8am to 8pm !! So please fix and update your website, just waisted my time going there.
Experiencia positiva: Overall not a bad place to get care for your animals but it really depends on the Vet your pet gets seen by. This is a 24 hour vet clinic but they charge extra ($128 service and $50 for overnight stay) for care provided between 8 PM and 8 AM. The vet assistants are friendly and helpful as well as good with animals not fond of people. The vet that originally saw my dog put the cast on his leg sideways and left the leg dirty with moisture inside. I had to take him back after two days as the cast started to stink and he struggled to walk with it. I was charged an additional $51 for the recasting of the leg even though the vet tech brought him to me with the put on wrong. The biggest problem is that I cannot wash my dog who was lost in the desert for almost three days and was covered in mud and who knows what else. This is an issue because he had bad tearing on the pads of all for paws.
Experiencia fantástica: If you're wanting vaccines, it's quick and easy. Im in and out within 20mins , even if the parking lot is packed. I love that they give you a booklet to keep up with your pets health history. And the prices are reasonable. My puppies have been coming since their first round of shots. We are now waiting on the 4th round.
Experiencia fantástica: My dog ate a lot of chocolate and some pills so we took him here as an emergency and they took good care of him and cleaned his stomach. The vet was very professional and kind.
Experiencia negativa: DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS TO GET EUTHANIZED HERE. I have been bringing my pets here for years but specifically they have been seeing my pit bull mix. He was 14 years old and I had recently taken him in for his yearly. He has dementia which causes extreme anxiety. My dog has essentially not been able to fully relax for over a year and a half. They prescribed him trazadone and gabapetin. Some days are worse than others but he's consistently barking at nothing and sometimes goes days without real sleep. At his last visit I mentioned possibly putting him down because even when he's heavily medicated he will fight it and scream and bark. Not to mention he has a tumor on his back end. I usually had to help him stand, constantly limping and just old age in general. The vet said she agreed on my thoughts of letting him rest. So I took some weeks feeding everything he wanted and just giving all the treats and I worked up the courage yesterday to do it. He was especially bad, panting for hours, not wanting to eat ANYTHING I offered him (cheese burgers, ice cream, treats, nothing). We went and checked in, we cried in the car trying to comfort him. He wouldn't even drink water. We waited for hours. They finally asked us to pull around the back for more "privacy ". They walked us not into an exam room but it was almost like a junk room. Filled with surgical equipment and just random machines. And a torn blanket on the floor for my dog. They took my dog back and quickly rushed in to charge us while they placed an iv on him. A girl came back to ask why we were putting him down. We explained and she came back to tell us that the vet didn't feel comfortable putting him down because he was wagging his tail.....thats just who my dog is. No matter the pain or discomfort my dog will wag his tail and try to kiss you. But they refused to help us and the vet refused to speak to me unless I paid for a vet exam. They refunded us and asked us to leave. The trauma they caused us and my dog was terrible. I quickly got ahold of another vet, explained the situation and they reassured me that they would not let us go through that. The room was beautiful and clean. The blanket was nice and soft. They event saw that my dog was in so much distress that they gave him a lite sedative so that his anxiety wouldn't be so insanely high and he could be more relaxed and give him a proper goodbye. They left alil doorbell so that we could press it when we were ready to let him go. Basically .... I just wanted to thank Dr. CASS at far east animal care center for all the extra trauma.... all because you saw my angel of a dog wag his tail, that made you decide he needed to suffer some more. You're the worst.
Experiencia negativa: Horrible customer service. Told 45 min wait...came out 6 hours later. If your pet is in pain highly recommend finding another place ... Highly priced and still need more care for my dog. My dog is important part of my family and treated like as if she was not important
Experiencia fantástica: Far East Animal Care Center consistently receives high praise for its compassionate and attentive veterinary services. Pet owners frequently highlight the dedicated doctors and staff who go above and beyond, providing thorough care and clear communication, even in stressful emergency situations. It's lauded for its professionalism and genuine concern for animal well-being, making it a trusted choice for comprehensive pet healthcare.
Experiencia negativa: We took my dog at 10 pm so they can help him. He cut his neck and was bleeding drastically . They didn’t take him in didn’t help him what so ever. Didn’t even offer any help at all. My dog died in their facility . I believe that is animal cruelty . Besides letting my dog die. I asked them not to call the tow truck cus our car broke down. We left our number and told them we will be back the following day to pick it up. They didn’t care. They have no heart what so ever. They called the tow truck. Didn’t even bother calling me to ask if I was going. All they care is getting money and I don’t believe they really care about the animals. I don’t recommend this place at all
Experiencia negativa: DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE. They let my dog bleed out in the lobby. Would not even see if they could help stop the bleeding. Or at least put us in an exam room.
Experiencia fantástica: Dr Vasquez, Dr. Mcclellan and all their techs took care of my Deebow with love and care every time as if he was their own family. ❤️ its a emotionally hard job that easily gets overlooked and people never really thank these loving people for what they do. But from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!!
Experiencia negativa: They did not care at all for my sick guinea pig told me they would scan him and then lied and completely didn’t do much for him quick to charge me 280+ ofcourse just to kill my guinea pig im very upset, save your money and go to TLC instead at least their vets actually care.
Experiencia negativa: I never had any problems with check ups but just recently I had to make the hard choice of putting my 20yr old chihuahua down. They made me pay before they did it, but left me sitting in the room for over a hr and a half only for the male vet (there is a reason I say male) to come in and said he didn't feel comfortable "killing" my dog. The female vet that I spoke with the day before had examined her and said that "letting her rest" is a humane option bc of her age and all the heath problems she had due to age. The mental torture and crying i had to endured for over a hr and a half, I will never go back. And the male vet was extremely rude in his judgmental attitude. He had 10 mins with her but I had to watch her suffer 24/7 to come to the hard decision that I made.
Experiencia negativa: If I could give this place a 0 I would. I have been to 4 different veterinary offices in El Paso, and this is by FAR THE WORST ONE. The doctors are decent. But the receptionists and vet techs really ruin it for this place. Rude. Lack of communication and work efficiency. If you are looking for a good vet. I recommend TLC Animal Hospital. Dr. Lara is amazing
Experiencia negativa: Zero Stars - Horrible experience!!!! We suspected my 4 month puppy had gotten grapes or something because he was vomiting and started to become less active and we let them know as soon as we got there. They told my husband it would be a two hour wait he ended up waiting for three hours. They took him and instead of giving him something they put him on fluids and ran blood tests. They found his liver enzymes high but said it had nothing to do with grapes. I kept calling because they wouldn’t give any updates on my puppy once I showed up they insisted on a test that he had no prior symptoms of. We agreed to it to get answers on that time I kept insisting he got into something they finally gave activated charcoal a day later and said he was stable and would be ready to go home the next day. Two hours later at midnight we got a call that he was in cardiac arrest and we were told he had passed when we arrived. We spoke to the doctor there at the time and when I told him my concerns he said that he would investigate why our puppy wasn’t treated as an emergency. While we were waiting my parents came to say their goodbyes and to comfort us, one of the ladies in the front told me that only two to three people could be in a room. I was really upset at the comment my dog just passed and you would make insensitive comments. I firmly believe our puppy passed because of the negligence on their part. PLEASE DONT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE. READ THE REVIEWS I WISH I DID.
Experiencia fantástica: Thankful for all the staff at Far East Animal Care Clinic! My cat broke his leg, and they have been the best! He's healing nicely and is feeling better every day!
Experiencia negativa: Horrible service, long wait times. You have been waiting for 3 hours, they call you to tell you it's your turn, walk to the lobby only to tell you, you have to wait longer because they just let someone else in. No I didn't hang up, my turned off because I had been waiting for so long. Called back and was reaffirmed everything would is ready to make my way up there..... When I asked the receptionist how much longer it would be replied with her verbatim robotic answer, "you'll be called when a room is available" over and over, it's quite condescending to pet owners be real and say it's a long wait time 1-2 hours, etc. How much long will that be? "You'll be called when a room is a available" You literally had my spot and gave it away, I had to wait, not given a time frame so I went back home. When I got they called back to tell me there was rooms available. You made me go back and forth, wasting time. Should've just gone somewhere else to begin with. The reviews are horrible, maybe it was a good thing my dog wasn't seen there anyway.
Experiencia negativa: I’m currently deployed overseas, so my mother took my dog to this clinic when she became barely responsive. The clinic kept her for 24 hours, stating she had anemia and needed medication and fluids. The next day they said they would perform an ultrasound, but it quickly became clear they were charging us constantly without delivering any meaningful results. They claimed her intestines appeared abnormal but couldn’t offer a clear diagnosis. My dog hadn’t eaten in nearly two days, so my mom brought her some homemade chicken. When she asked about the container the next day, no one at the clinic knew what she was talking about, confirming they never even fed her. Despite nearly $2,000 in charges, they wanted to keep her longer and then suddenly said she needed an endoscopy and GI panel, followed by an urgent blood transfusion. Their recommendations kept shifting with no clear explanation. My mom received contradictory information from the vet and staff about whether my dog could eat. One said no, another said yes, it was clear the communication was disorganized and unprofessional. When we decided to transfer her care to a vet in Juarez, I asked for all medical records, including the ultrasound images. The clinic refused, saying the images were in video format and not shareable. After repeatedly being brushed off, I learned they use Oncura Diagnostics for ultrasounds. When I called Oncura directly, they said the clinic could easily log in and share the images. Only after I mentioned taking legal action did they finally send the link to the images. It made me question whether they had even done the ultrasound in the first place. This clinic does not care about your pet, only your wallet. I paid for a day of treatment and got no real answers. My dog finally got the care she needed at a vet in Juarez, where she didnt need any of what this clinic stated she neede done. Also, there she stayed five nights for the cost of one night at this clinic, and she’s now doing much better. Avoid this place if you truly care about your pet’s well-being.
Experiencia negativa: What a Scam!! Got heartworm test but wanted order meds from Chewy Since cheaper!!! Now they want an extra $11 to process order thru Chewy!!! Really paid $147 total now they want extra $11!! Waited in heat for over 40min...they say keep dog in car check in first!!?? Everyone else took their darn dogs inside...while I waited in car. Then get called in while I used the bathroom so They skipped me and took other dogs in first!!! So I freaking left...horrible customer service and policy not followed. As soon as excited bathroom another lady in waiting room Told me they just called you. I went up to receptionist told where I had been and to please inform them I was ready..both heavy set women at front desk didn't even bother to get up or call tech...to into their conversation to bother. They lost a customer $$
Experiencia negativa: I was giving this location a 5 star review. The front office, assistants, and doctors were really kind to us. The place was clean and we were seen in a timely manner. However, my regular vet obtained records from the ER visit and someone had described either my husband or I with “client was rude” due to me declining an overnight stay. I’m unsure of where this came from as I felt everything was positive. We were in an emergent situation so I’m sure we seemed anxious. I’m so disappointed that this was felt to be logged in my dog’s paperwork when their judgment of me did not dictate or impact my dog’s treatment and care. Me declining a recommended care does not warrant for the doctor to log me as being rude.
Experiencia fantástica: Very clean, very kind, very professional. Additionally, Their prices are fair. I've brought my draumatic papa pug to get his nails cut. And 10 minutes later they were done. He even behaved which I was happy to hear. Would recommend.
Experiencia negativa: DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!I took my 2 year old cat to this animal hospital because he got a stone in the urethra. They charged me $800 to receive him they said they were going to take care of him, that they were going to place a urinary catheter and pain medicine, I trust them and left my cat with them. The next morning they called me and ask for $500 more to start antibiotics and meloxicam I paid them, they said he was stable and that they will keep me updated. The next day I went to see him he was depressed and in a lot of pain they said they will remove the catheter and they will keep him under observation. I went to pick him up and they made me wait an hour and a half, they took me in a room were he was with his bladder full and a lot of pain, they said he didn’t expelled the stone, it was still there, they didn’t do anything for my baby. He was suffering a lot. My husband and I gave him comfort and decided to put him to sleep which they did immediately. They took one more our to give him to us dead. I DO NOT RECOMMEND to take your pets to this hospital they are insensitive they just ask for money.
Experiencia fantástica: Had to hospitalize my pup overnight after the surgery. They did a great job taking care of her. Multiple check-ins and pictures throughout the night to keep me updated. I appreciate them.
Experiencia fantástica: Our first visit went fantastic, staff are very pleasant and helpful. Our Charlie had cold, they fixed him right up with meds. He showed improvement that same day and going forward. We went on a Sunday the wait was fast along with diagnostic results. We would recommend based of this visit.
Experiencia negativa: My dad informed me that himself and my brother took our dog to the vet because a previous surgery he had done came undone or wasn’t closing properly. When they arrived they were told the wait would be 1hr 40 mins (which can understandable since there are others before them) My dad was speaking to the front lady about it and my dad made a comment to himself, not to the lady, but about how he could’ve done it at home. The reason he said that was because the lady in the front stated to my dad that if he wants to wait he can or if he lives near by he can go and they’d call him. So he figured he should’ve just called at home and possibly made an appointment for that night and to be called when they were ready to see him JUST AS THE LADY IN THE FRONT STATED. The last time they went for the surgery our dog had, they spent a great amount of money and my dad asked about financial help since the surgery they had done on our dog had came out or undone. So my dad was wondering since they had to return if he would be checked for “free” or not be charged as much since it wasn’t our dogs fault or ours that the stitches came out. I don’t know what the ladies told the dr or switched the story around to make the dr “ban” our dog from being seen but that is unacceptable. The doctor also stated that since they had to go back and asked for financial help that we had lost confidence in the him. What kind of doctor says those things? we did not lose confidence in anybody, a issue was present and it needed to be fixed. Maybe the doctor was offended that his work didn’t end up working, we don’t know. My family wasn’t the ones who performed the procedure, clearly something didn’t stitch correctly into our dog when they finished the procedure . Idk if the doctor was offended that my family had to return for something they “supposedly” fixed before but treating your patients that way isn’t correct. We are very disappointed in this clinic, it was frustrating to begin with since the stitches in our dog moved or did whatever it has done but to be told they weren’t going to be seen anymore and referred to another clinic is unacceptable. If the ladies in the front switched the story around to make it seem as if my dad was being extremely rude for the dr to not want to see him is ridiculous.
Experiencia negativa: Do not, do not bring your pet here. If you have, you have probably wasted an obscene amount of money on an obscene amount of services that were pointless or not administered correctly and resulted in actual harm of your pet. There is a serious lack of knowledge of veterinary medicine and abuse of claiming to have it based on what they charge and the lack of services they give. (I know. I'm a student of veterinary medicine myself). They will not properly help your pet and abuse the need for emergency vet services because people who love their pet are just trying to get them help. I've brought my own dogs here and on multiple occasions they come out with a laundry list of "needed procedures" that have nothing to do with why we are there. An animal is having an issue with their brain, it is unnecessary to demand chest scans to tell you something you should be able to know just by listening to their heart (unless you don't know how to properly listen - in that case I doubt you could probably read a scan/ that or they're tossing it in there because guess what? They're getting more money out of it). And if not, they refuse to do the bare minimum unless you pay (which is ridiculous). They charge to draw blood. The drawing itself. Which is embarrassing. They may as well charge to even acknowledge your pet's existence. And just for information sake, they take your pet to the back not to examine them right away, that's what they let you think so they can justify the examination charge if you decide to take your pet somewhere else even though they don't actually examine them until you agree to pay for the laundry list of unnecessary procedures. There is absolutely no reason to not examine a pet in front of their owner *In An Examination Room*. That is the entire *purpose* of an exam room. It's sad the amount of abuse that is occurring as far as how much they charge for services that are not even of the highest standards. One of the veterinarians himself has no idea what he is even doing. A major lack of proper knowledge and training at this establishment and that's not including the fact they are the worst human beings aside from gauging money out of people who just love their pets. They have the worst bedside manner and make zero effort to communicate properly and respectfully with owners. Do not bring your pet here. It's hard but wait and get them to a proper veterinarian. There are so many respectable and actually well trained ones here in the city. I never write reviews. Ever. But knowing what I know as someone familiar with veterinary sciences and services myself, it's not right what they're doing. Not only are owners getting taken advantage of, but pets that are loved and cared for are who are suffering.
Experiencia negativa: Do not bring your pets here all they care is about money and do not care for your pets. Inexperience veterinarians guessing and assuming what’s wrong with your pets. Never give a clear answer on what’s wrong with your pets. Rude front desk and they do not have any social skills. Heartless people!
Experiencia negativa: My 11 year old daughter was laying on me because she was not feeling well while we were waiting on an update about my dog. The owner called and had the receptionist come up to us and say she needs to sit up, the owner doesn't like that. I guess he was looking at the cameras, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. My 2 daughters and I were in a corner taking up 3 seats. Super uncalled for.
Experiencia negativa: Went in because my dog had fallen off the couch idk if she feel wrong or had a stroke but she was having a hard time breathing and she couldn’t move. By the time I got to the hospital she had passed away. I went into a room to say goodbye and talk about cremation, which was $300 with a paw print. But what bothered me! was I ask like what could have happened to my dog she was young and healthy. This tech said they would have to CHOP HER UP and send her out for testing. Told him NO we aren’t doing that. He left and came back and said this is how much it would cost to CHOP HER UP and send her out. Like come on I just lost my dog and I have two kids with me. Having to explain what this heartless tech ment. Like use better words your working with grieving pet owners who see their pets as family. Better words could be used like, we can do an Autopsy, we can send her out for testing! I don’t need to visualize my baby getting CHOPPED UP! Everyone else was kind and respectful. It was just that one tech who just seemed so heartless, and made this horrible experience worse.
Experiencia fantástica: I’ve taken my ten year old female boxer Sadie here many times but I wanted to PRAISE DOCTOR BRANDY with such an informative visit. She is one of the night time doctors and looks like I will specifically be asking for her the next time I go back. A+++++ DR BRANDY!
Experiencia negativa: DONT GO HERE IF ITS NOT AN EMERGENCY. Walked in with my fur baby seizuring/stroke and the receptionist told me I was gonna have to wait 2:30 hrs!! I said it was an emergency and she said that I had to wait that time even if my dog was dying. Nothing but bad experiences here. Not the first time. But it’s the closest place to hueco tanks.
Experiencia negativa: Don't try to address concerns because they will make you wait longer and add cost services to your visit. We were there for 4 hrs for a bandage removal and maybe it was due to my concern on staff not bandages him correctly on previous visit, below the shoulder, which caused my dog to develop a blister which began to drain and smell. We waited in the vehicle 4 hrs before we decided to leave.
Experiencia negativa: Took our dog in for struggling to give birth they charged 1700 for c section then they gave 6 days to bring her in if something happens when honestly the first 2 weeks are critical they didn’t explain about complications she can have well fast forward 12 days later she started bleeding from her private part and blood clots kept coming out we took her back and they said it has nothing to do with c section that it might be something she got from going outside or rat poison. She does not go outside and there is no rat poison they said she will need a blood transfusion and that normally cost $500 but sense it is a emergency it will be another $1500 so $2000. We don’t have that kind of money we just paid 12 days ago $1700 so we asked the doctor if she will die and they said yes. We took her home and the blood seemed to stop but then the next night it started again she ended up dying and we know it has to do with what they did for the c section. Plus before they did c section they told my mom that our dog shows 5 puppies in her but after c section they where only 3 i don’t know if they left puppies inside her. Omg I am so furious with this place PLEASE DONT BRING YOUR PETS HERE! There is a better emergency place on airway! YOU GUYS KILLED OUT BEAUTIFUL OREO!
Experiencia negativa: Very disappointed in how this clinic is conducted. The front staff were nice, but the actual visit was upsetting. I brought my cat in for a split nail, and after an hour he was immediately taken to the back for an examination. I expected that it might need to be removed because of how far down it was split. I expected the vet on duty would feel his paw and report back on its status and discuss the next steps with me, despite visits with my usual visits being conducted much differently, but this was not the case. Instead, I heard a loud yowl and the vet- who had not greeted me or discussed options, walked in with the nail he had yanked from my cat’s paw. When I made it clear this upset me (no one likes hearing their pet cry!) he doubled down and acted like the only problem was that I didn't understand why the nail was removed. The actual problem was you didn’t communicate! I would have liked to know if there was an option to give him some pain medication BEFORE ripping a part off of him. Or that that was going to happen at all! To top it all off, they presented me with the bill before returning my cat. Take the “care” out of the clinic’s name if you're going to treat people and their animals this way.
Experiencia negativa: The wait time is horrendous and the prices are outrageous. Also, the care that the dogs receive every time we’ve taken our pets has not been correct. I have no clue where these vets went to school, but they lack knowledge. Our dog has not eaten in days won’t even drink water and they said that he is fine. He cannot even walk, should there not be a solution?
Experiencia negativa: I am extremely disappointed with the repeated mistakes made by this animal clinic. The most recent issue was the last straw. They charged me for three medications but only gave me two. When I called to let them know, they outright denied the mistake. To make matters worse, they also charged me for a cone that I didn’t initially receive. Thankfully, I caught that error before leaving and was able to get the cone after pointing it out. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize one of the medications was missing until I got home. When I brought it to their attention, they made me pay for it again instead of owning up to their mistake. This isn’t the first time they’ve been careless, but it will definitely be the last time I trust them with my pet’s care. Mistakes happen, but the lack of accountability and poor customer service are unacceptable.
Experiencia negativa: I do not recommend this clinic. They are very insensitive. They did not put my dog to sleep until I signed their estimate and paid, which took a long time in the waiting room with my dog in pain. We had already spent two thousand dollars on his treatment, and they had all of our credit card information.
Experiencia negativa: Dr Jesus Madrid DVM is a horrible doctor and needs to be re certified possibly investigated . Took my dog in a week ago to get checked for a heart mur mur , the heart mur mur was confirmed and no medication was given to my dog . Doctor didn't explain much properly and seemed clueless at his profession . Today I took her for her check up following his orders . She was brought in with heart concerns and pancreatitis concerns . My dog was alive and alert she was even barking to let her out of the cage . Doctor suggested blood work and other test , well they were done and everything I told him was going on was confirmed. He then advised to give her injectable medications and medication to take her home to control the pancreas . Doggy was still stable at the time . They told us to wait in the lobby for our dog to come out . Then they brought out my dog which was weird because they always make you pay first then they bring the patient out . In this case they brought my dog out first then called us to pay while paying my dog wanted to walk so I took her outside to walk since she was fine . As soon as I put her down she threw up once , then the second time right after her tongue was pale purple ish and she looked at me weird then went limp . My husband got her and he rushed her inside to be seen . Well they charged us more then $500 just to kill our dog . Our dog was fine she literally went in for a check up. My dog was walking , barking , eating and drinking water and while in their care she died so fast after administering medications. All the vet could say was I'm sorry for your loss , she wasn't doing so great , I'm not sure what to tell you . Oh and by the way your dog will be going into cardiac arrest . Do you want CPR I said yes well he said we charge for that also. While my dog laying on the table dying he is looking at us like y'all are gonna pay right? If not no CPR. This has been by far the worse experience I've ever had here and I would recommend not taking your dog there. I know a few people who work there and they have told me their vet techs are not even licensed. I would have taken my dog to a different veterinarian but the other one was closed and this was my last option. Never again . I will be filing a complaint with the board to investigate further the situation . If you guys have complaints go to the medical board and file a complaint against their license, something needs to be done and I will make justice for my Nina .
Experiencia fantástica: I had to say goodbye to one of my dogs recently. This place was very compassionate about the whole thing, never rushed me once even though they have a small number of exam rooms. I felt me being able to say goodbye was the priority. That aside it was also the most economical choice that still let you be there for your pet during the process. They go above and beyond for people that have to say goodbye.
Experiencia negativa: I cannot, in good conscience, give an adequate rating due to my experience with my puppies a few months ago. I brought in three puppies who were seriously ill, not eating, vomiting, and having unhealthy stool. Upon arrival, the receptionist informed me that the wait time would be about an hour, which I accepted. However, that initial hour turned into two, then three, and finally, an unbelievable four hours. When I called after the first hour to check on the status, I was told that emergencies had taken priority. While I understand emergencies arise, I believed my situation, with two-month-old puppies in distress, was urgent. Despite informing the receptionist of the severity of their condition from the start, it seemed my pets were not considered a priority. After four hours, when I was finally seen and started to take my puppies out of their kennel, one of them had passed away. I was devastated, and the apology I received was lukewarm at best. They wrapped my puppy in a towel and took him away. I had hoped they would assist with cremation or some form of aftercare, but instead, after my remaining two puppies were treated and sent home with medication, I was asked to meet them in the back to collect my deceased puppy. They told me to take him home and arrange for disposal on my own. When I asked if they could do anything to assist given the long wait and the fact that my puppy passed away due to the delay, I was met with a blunt “no.” I was left in shock—after waiting for four hours, my puppy had died, and I was sent home with his body, forced to find a cremation service the next day. The emotional and mental toll this experience had on me and my family is indescribable. I had to find another clinic to take my remaining puppies, and I would strongly encourage others to carefully research their options before choosing Far East Animal Center. While it's convenient that they’re open 24 hours and accept walk-ins, I’m not sure how they prioritize cases. My experience showed that despite my pets' severe condition, other cases took precedence, and as a result, I lost one of my fur babies. I now have found another clinic that truly cares for my animals, and Far East Animal Center has lost my trust and support. I hope they reevaluate their practices, especially when dealing with urgent situations like mine. The staff’s indifference and lack of assistance were deeply disappointing.
Experiencia fantástica: Open late. They were able to assist my brother when his dog passed when him and his girlfriend were visiting for Thanksgiving. They offered him a private room to spend with his beloved animal, ashes, a box for the the ashes, and to even deliver the ashes to San Antonio for an extra fee.
Experiencia negativa: Terrible experience at this place. If you care about your pet(s), please stay away from this place. I took my dog in for an emergency and waited over 2 hours. When finally seen, they did X-rays and said she was fine and just needed pain meds. They asked me to go pay upfront and they’d have my dog right out to me. Minutes later they called me into a room and told me my dog had stopped breathing, they didn’t know why and kept saying there was a shift change and they were going to do CPR on her. She didn’t make it. How the vet went from saying she is fine, to my dog passing is still something I don’t quite understand. Please, please find a different vet for your pets if you are considering this place.
Experiencia negativa: I enjoy that this vet allows same day care (walk ins) - that’s what got me and my 2 pups in the door and also why I initially thought it would be a good idea to use them as their vet. However one of my pups got very sick one night and the after hour care at this vet would not see her. Remind you this was a severe emergency. This was the first issue. I have no clue why they call themselves after hit care when they often turn people around with true emergencies. Secondly, they prescribed my puppy a mousse for dry skin that made her dry skin worse because she was far too young for the mousse. I am know at a new vet who is spectacular with our pups and has treated her skin and early diagnosis of another issue we are also treating. I’m not saying this isn’t the place for you and pets BUT I would definitely read over the reviews because this place is not top tier for treatment of animals.
Experiencia fantástica: My best friend Zeus was 15 years old, and he ended up having a flipped stomach. We got him to the emergency er at Far East and was told that due to his problem and age, he should cross the bridge. I was ready for this to an extent it broke my heart and my wife's to let him go. Unfortunately, it was his time, and even with the surgery, life expectancy was low. So we did what the doctor advised. We got to stay with him and say our goodbyes till we were ready, and once done, we let him take his long nap. It still hurts as I type this almost a week later he was my friend, and even when I lost my mind and temper, he was always waiting for me when I deployed or went to train. The staff is friendly and the doctor was also.
Experiencia negativa: I took my dog there cuz he was limping. They took X rays and gave him pain meds for 500 dollars! After my dog finished the meds, his leg got worse! I went to this place cuz my neighbor recommended it! Again, I'm taking my pet to Juarez to get real care for a better price. cuz this place charged 500 for nothing! I don't recommend this place!
Experiencia negativa: We arrived with our dog in the car early this morning (around 5am) as he had an emergency medical episode. However, we were turned away at the door as we were told they didn’t have a doctor onsite. They gave us another location to go to instead, but it was too late - our dog had passed away. I understand if there were staffing issues, but there was an “open” sign lit up on the door. How can you consider yourself “open” or as a 24/7 pet hospital if you are turning people away at the door due not having a doctor onsite 24/7? Unacceptable. I write this review, not to diminish the facility (they have provided us with decent care in the past); however, I do write this review to caution anyone who may consider taking their pet here in the event of a true emergency.
Experiencia fantástica: I've taken my dog three times in the past 5 days and every time they have been amazing. Everyone is very friendly and treats my dog as if he were their own. The wait might be long at times but they make sure you are taken care of the whole time. Even if other customers are rude they continue to smile and treat them with respect. Highly recommended when the unexpected happens.
Experiencia negativa: recently took my cat to this Veterinary clinic for her first vaccination, and I was disappointed by the level of customer service and care provided. The staff did not ask about my cat’s vaccination history or explain any details regarding the procedure. After the vaccination, my cat began vomiting repeatedly—about 15 times—both in my car and at home. I returned to the clinic, only to be told that her condition wasn’t related to the vaccine. When I expressed my concerns, I was charged additional fees for further care. The staff implied that if I couldn’t pay, they would stop treatment without adequately explaining the importance of providing fluids or medications. From my medical background, I understood that without intervention, my cat could be at risk of hypovolemic shock. After discussing the situation with the supervisor, I was informed that it was my responsibility to inform the staff it was my cat's first vaccination, despite them never asking. When I inquired about the vaccine’s ingredients to understand the possible causes of her reaction, the staff were unable to provide any information despite my repeated requests. Additionally, the supervisor mentioned that swollen lips and eyes could result from a vaccine reaction, but as someone with medical experience, I recognized this as a sign of anaphylactic shock, not merely a side effect. The staff’s lack of understanding of the differences between side effects, adverse reactions, and anaphylaxis was concerning, especially given the potential severity of these conditions. Overall, my experience at this Veterinary Clinic fell short of expectations for both customer service and medical care. I hope this feedback can help improve future interactions for pet owners and their animals.
Experiencia negativa: I understand it a business - however this placed had no compassion and it was all about maximizing their services during the visit. I contested some of the recommendations because they weren't applicable to the symptoms my pet was experiencing. I paid for an IV to be administered, my pet didn't have any indication a IV was administered. My pet was misdiagnosed and was taken to its primary vet for care. I wouldn't recommend this place.
