Fantastic experience: Loved the staff! Our cat is recovering very well. There is a credit card fee! Only $2, but stopping by the ATM could save you that. It is low cost, but still ended up costing just over $80 (female cat) after the Rabies vaccine, which is required. I'm very happy with their service and care. There was a wait to get in and then again to pick up my pet. Not very long for the Valley. We waited in line, the first 5 or 6 customers went in, and the rest of us were given a number and told we could wait in our cars. After the first customers were registered and off to get their pets they called us in with a megaphone. It was very efficient, and for all the people waiting I thought pretty fast.

Fantastic experience: Although there are no Trap Neuter Release(TNR) programs in the McAllen Mission area Low cost spay/neuter does a great job of giving valley residents some financial relief. We have brought our own indoor cats here and now some NMPC(Not My Porch Cats) will get the humane way to control your local cat population.

Negative experience: Not coming back. Booked an appt 2 days ago for a neuter, showed up at appt time/day. then told me they couldn’t take me because they didn’t have my dog scheduled when i literally showed proof of contact with a woman who works there. they weren’t even willing to fix it considering it was a mistake on THEIR end. just told me “well you can wait around but not guaranteed.” wasted my time & took the morning off from work to be here on time. 0/10 recommend, clearly they aren’t organized or willing to resolve situations THEY messed up on.

Positive experience: They get 4 stars from me, because my puppy had a successful spay procedure with zero complications. Their seeming lack of compassion and sincerity, except the girl that gave us our dog back, almost brought them down several stars. Ultimately, you get a great value for your money. We love our personal vet, but we saved over $100 by using RGV Low Cost Spay/Neuter. I would definitely use them again if I needed to, but thanks to them, now all 5 of our dogs are fixed and we never have to worry about Pyometra again or an unwanted litter.

Fantastic experience: Had 3 male cats neutered and the staff was very kind and understanding. They were very caring not just with my animals but all the animals they dealt with. One of my cats Tigger was an escape artist and they took very good care.

They can use blankets, towels, white bees, all kinds of cleaning products. Pet toys and so on. What they are doing is wonderful for our community, and I loved pets.

Negative experience: If you love your fur baby do NOT BRING THEM HERE, I understand it’s cheap but my cat had so much NON NORMAL bleeding and they said “oh it’s normal” and I had to take him to Pet Doctor 911 because he experienced blood loss. They told us to get there at 3pm to pick up my cat and I waited 2 hours later just for them to tell me they’re taking notes on him but wouldn’t tell me what. It’s so unprofessional that they don’t even put a list of drugs they do on your animals. Please please DO NOT bring your fur baby here I spent $197 just to get him medicine at another clinic because they don’t send your cat home with a cone or medicine to keep him calm after the drugs wear off this place is horrible just don’t do it. No amount of money is worth your fur babies life.

Negative experience: For years I have taken my dogs and cats to spaying and neutering. At one time I had 12 dogs and 5 cats to get serviced. I rated a 5 star. However this past year it has totally changed. I wouldnt give them a 1 star even if they paid me to do so. I gave 1☆ just to give review. Aside from being unfair and rude, they will not give you an appt unless you show up in person...stupid huh?! I live 40 miles away and I have to show up? I've been calling every Tuesday for 4 weeks and haven't been given an appt. There was a time when I loved this place and staff was remarkable. Now I give them a ---5 rating!!!

Negative experience: Can’t speak on much since they literally don’t answer their calls lol. I’ve tried to call this place for months now to try and ask questions I need to before taking my cat in and every single time I call no one answers at all does anyone even work there?

Negative experience: Horrible experience. They request deposit of $40 and have you drop off your animal by 8 AM. I was three minutes late after being stuck in traffic and they called one minute after 8 cancelling the appointment and kept the deposit. What a swindle to make extra money. I kept calling several times before 8 to let them know that I’m stuck at the nearby intersection only to get recorded outdated message about the new year closing. What a joke. I will certainly report them to the better business bureau.

Fantastic experience: This is the best and the most affordable place to have your pets spayed/ neutered. We have been taking our cats and dogs here for 15 years now, with a perfect outcome every time. Drop off is in the morning, and by the afternoon your cat or dog is ready to get picked up again. Just make sure you call at least a month ( or more, since this place is so popular and booked often for months) ahead, and have your bank card ready for a $25 deposit.

Negative experience: I've been calling for the past two weeks, and they only have certain availability for spays. The person I spoke to said to callback on Tuesday morning. I did call and no one answered, I left a voicemail and did get a callback. She did call around end of day 4pm. By that time she said there was no more openings. She did tell me to callback the following Tuesday which I did. Her instructions were to call right at 9 am, so i did. No one answered, so I tried a few minutes later, and again 30 min later. I don't know if they have caller ID but it didn't even ring like if they saw my # and just pushed me through voicemail!! If you don't wanna do your job why tell me to call at 9. You know how I know? I had my hubby call jusy to see if you would answer. And u answered the phone right away to him, that's why I know you ignored my calls! very rude and unprofessional. I was needing a service for my pet and I was just ignored. I hope this goes to a higher up so they can see this. I was following instructions and I get ignored!! Also found out through my husband they won't spay any dogs over 6 years old. If I could give 0 stars I would. Get better receptionist who are there to answer the phone and not ignore people.

Negative experience: I want to start by saying that I've been using the low-cost spay-neuter clinic for years and have always found the staff to be efficient, patient, and great with animals. The level of care provided is outstanding. However, I do have an issue with the scheduling process. I've been trying to book an appointment since July, and it's now September. The new system is ineffective and time-consuming. In the past, you could either book an appointment online or schedule months in advance with a deposit. Although there was a wait, once you left a deposit, your appointment was guaranteed. With the current system, owners have to call DAILY to try to book an appointment. If they manage to get through or receive a call back (which sometimes takes two days), they are often told that there is no availability for a month or two. The vet releases a limited number of appointments, and we have no way of knowing how many. We're asked to keep calling back daily in case of cancellations, only to start the process all over again. I believe there must be a better way to schedule and book appointments, as the current process is outdated and unproductive. It's frustrating for those of us who want to help control the cat population to face such challenges when trying to book appointments.

Fantastic experience: It was real hard to get an appointment for my dog here, but the prices are reasfoldable. very affordable. I didn't get an appointment because they were booked till June. I had to make another one somewhere else, cause I really need my pup to get neutered. If I had the chance I'd would of loved taking her here. Update I have taken all my dogs here to get nurtured and all have had successful recoveries I wouldn't take them anywhere else today is my cat's turn he's so mad at me .

Fantastic experience: I read reviews and I still decided to call just in case I got lucky with someone answering my call, I decided heck, I didn't mind driving, I drove up and no car in sight, I thought oh darn they are not open, I parked and yes they were open, the 2 receptionists were on call's and still greeted me with smiles, I got assisted by one of the ladies and this was my first time there, I must say she was so kind along with the other receptionist, I got my appointment for my female cat, and left a deposit. My cat has her appointment very soon.

Positive experience: 6/20/2024 - I took my dog to get neutered here. I will say that he has recovered and healed well so I am thankful for that but bringing him here was VERY STRESSFUL for him and for me. I have taken my other dog and cats to the other low cost clinic and it was very smooth and stress free compared to this clinic. It costs about $20 more but to me it’s worth it to not be so worried. Just to get an appointment here takes a lot of effort because they only answer the phones at certain times so I had to call several times until they answered. Then I had to wait 3 weeks out for the actual appointment and I couldn’t change my mind because I paid a deposit. The day of surgery I arrived at 7:30am and they finally took my dog in at 8:15am. They have you wait in 3 separate lines waiting. 1. To check in. 2. Sit in your car and wait. 3. Sit in the lobby and wait. The big male tech who came to take my dog to the back grabbed my dogs balls and my dog growled a little which is understandable. The tech said “he’s aggressive and needs to be muzzled”. I was shocked because my dog is the sweetest gentle baby. This tech doesn’t know how to handle dogs. The tech couldn’t even take my dog to the back on his own. I had to assist him and take my dog to the back and put a muzzle on him which was heartbreaking for me. In my head I was thinking I should just leave with my dog but I didn’t. I felt so uneasy and was praying all day for my baby and I was worried sick for him. I came back to get my dog at 3pm. They again were not able to bring him out and I had to go to the back and get him, not because he was aggressive or difficult but because he was KNOCKED OUT! He was so overmedicated he could not move. Literally just laid there with his tongue hanging out. I was shocked and wanted to cry. I took video in case something was wrong. I saw all of the other dogs in the cages were all knocked out too. This is alarming. I think they need to hire vet techs who can handle this because having pet parents go to the back is traumatic. I have had other dogs and cats spayed/neutered and they walk out of the clinic like nothing happened so something is wrong here. They also put a big red sign on his cage “aggressive “ which is a lie and very hurtful. I really hope they didn’t hurt him or were rough with him. Anyway a nice girl tech had to lift him out of the cage and carry him to my car for me. I wish I would’ve waited in my car to see if all of the other dogs were able to walk out on their own or if they had to be carried. When I arrived home I had to call my husband to come home from work to carry him inside. He was unresponsive until the next day. It’s been a few days now and he is back to normal and I am grateful. I will not go here again because of the stress. Sorry. I will spend a little more money and go to where I am comfortable and trust them. Also, not once did I meet with the Doctor.

Positive experience: The staff here is very friendly and knowledgeable. They provide a wonderful, desperately needed service, but be advised that the clinic tends to be booked up for months. They are not easy to get on the phone, either, so try to set up an appointment for your pet as soon as you can, even if they are too young right now. Also, be sure to bring your pet in an actual, secure carrier, as they will not accept patients that arrive in makeshift box enclosures. I know pet taxis can be expensive, but maybe you can borrow one from somebody you know... Good luck! ‍⬛️

Negative experience: if i could put 0 stars i would. this is the worst clinic i have gone to ever. me and my mom woke up at 5am, took off at 6am, to be there by 7:00am to drop off our cat. it was so fast paced that they did not give me the time to ask questions about the procedure. i was very anxious enough and they do not reassure you anything. my cat had all her vaccines in mexico and when i got there they said they dont count the vaccines from there, that i have to pay for the rabies vaccine AGAIN, another 25$. when i set up the appointment, they did NOT tell me anything about not accepting vaccines from mexico, if they did tell me then i would have never gone in the first place. then i had a very bad gut feeling about my cat so i called and asked for a update on how she was doing. they proceeded to say that my cat was very aggressive and said she attacked someone. MY CAT IS NOT A AGGRESSIVE CAT AT ALL, UNLESS YOU PROVOKE HER! then they called me around 2pm and said the pick up time was 5:30 now due to too many dogs in surgery. they do not respect your time at all! i then went to get my cat out of there and they brought her out and she looked terrified. then they proceeded to ask if i still wanted the rabies vaccine... THAT I ALREADY PAID FOR AND SHE HAD. obviously i said no. then i noticed on the way home that she was breathing very hard and fast. then she started to pant and stick her tongue out, i tried to give her water and food but she looked really scared to drink or eat. once we got home, she did not let us touch her for hours, what did this clinic do... then she finally decided to eat and she was drinking water for about 5 mins straight. never go to this clinic EVER! AVOID IT.

Positive experience: Brought my cat to get neutered. Hard to get an appointment but very friendly staff. There are some up charges for extra services. If your pet has fleas, they will treat it and charge you. If you can't get an appointment here consider contacting NoKillRGV.

Fantastic experience: In the two times that I have visited RGV low cost spay/neuter clinic I have had wonderful results.From the very beginning with a phone call to set up an appointment all the way until I get my pet back after surgery.The staff is always friendly and polite,as well as understanding.They have a good system in place to drop your fur babies off in the morning with a number system.Works really well.The surgery itself I can only attest that post surgery can be a bit stressful and/or scary with after care.But as long as post surgery instructions are met it should be smooth sailing.I just took my second cat for neuter ing and am completely satisfied with the results.A very professional clinic.I highly recommend it for your pets spay/neutering needs.(As well as flea and worm medicines)and other small services.

Negative experience: Took my German shepherd his first vet visit was not feeling well a lot of diarrhea and vomiting. Saw a grey hair old man some said he's the owner I don't know. After checking him he said he was ok gave him a shot. During night he vomited about 5 times very bad foul smell took him back this time a young man people said was owner's son don't know anyway bad news he had parvo. I was furious a misdiagnose like that could have killed my dog. Sorry to burst everyone's bubble but people make mistakes just not my dog. Staff is nice will admit prices are good would rather pay a little bit more after all he's my best friend he deserves better. Love your furry friends.

They have awesome service and answer all your questions on the phone while setting up for an appointment, at drop off and pick up of your fur baby. They are very Thorough with all information needed and even send you home with paper instructions as well. They also offer an emergency number i if any other questions arise after the procedure. Overall I am very satisfied with the service, price and treatment of my baby.

Fantastic experience: Took my 1 year old cat after I saw that she was missing 3 nails, one from each paw. Dr checked her and gave her some antibiotics and pain medication. She's doing much better with the pain meds that were prescribed to be given at home. Will follow up in a month. Great service by all staff.

Fantastic experience: Honestly highly recommend RGV low cost spay/neuter clinic! It was Kenny’s(feline) first time to ever go to a vet , had to take him in to get him neutered. And he is doing great ! The staff is very professional, but what I love the most is that they give an emergency number after the surgery, and we’ll I had a concern and called and they picked up right away answered my questions and also through text ! Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and always had a great recovery process with all my pets that I've taken even back when they were located on 495 and 23rd. Highly recommend. The wait is a lot longer than it was before, but worth the wait.
