Fantastic experience: Having to put your pet down that has been by your side for 16 years was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. The staff was absolutely AMAZING! They explained everything in detail for us, consoled us and gave us as much time as we needed with my boy Berklee. The paw prints, little jars with his hair that I got I carry with me everywhere. What really stood out for me was about a week later I got a card in the mail and they hand wrote a personal message and all the staff signed it. They truly care about what they do and I cannot thank them enough!

Fantastic experience: What first comes to mind is the genuine, heartfelt care we enjoy from Doctor Carlson and her assistants. And the peace of mind of a 24-hour emergency service.

Negative experience: There are a couple of problems with this place that not only I, but many other people, have. The first is the communication over the phone. By this point, I’ve probably called at least five or six times asking about the cat my girlfriend and I had to surrender. Every time either of us called, we received no answers about how he was doing or whether he went through the surgery they told us they were going to perform. The second problem is the outrageous prices, both upfront and after a single visit. It costs $158 just to be seen, and after one visit, the total was over $700. In our situation, the options for our cat were either a $5,000 surgery or surrender. With no payment plans offered, and after trying to sign up for pet insurance only to be immediately declined, we had no choice but to surrender him. I don’t understand why there are no payment plans available for people who can’t afford to pay these large out-of-pocket costs upfront.

Fantastic experience: I cannot thank the team enough for the care they provided during one of the hardest days. While the outcome wasn't what we had hoped for, the staff handled the situation with compassion and grace.

Fantastic experience: I am devastated writing this because I no longer have my best friend with me. I appreciate All City Pet Care Veterinary Emergency bc they helped my cat feel comfortable in an absolutely uncomfortable situation. As soon as we walked in, the tech greeted us with calm kindness and immediately took Meow Meow to the back where he could be stabilized. Through the process of waiting on his assessment and saying see you later to Meow Meow they were very kind. They answered all questions that we had with confidence and bed side manner. I miss Meow Meow deeply. I am happy that he was able to be stabilized and calmed so that he went in peace with us right there with him. This is the second time we have been here. The first was with our senior dog a few months back. He got through it, thankfully, and is home with us. I appreciate ya'll tremendously. We had somewhere to go when we needed help and Meow Meow died in peace. You are all the real MVPs. Thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: This clinic was able to see us within ten minutes, something our local vet could not do, and for that alone we are deeply grateful. Our 7-year-old Boxmas was very sick, and after several tests, we were faced with the most heartbreaking decision of our lives — to let her go. That night was devastating, and we felt completely helpless. The pain of losing her was overwhelming, but the kindness, patience, and compassion shown by the veterinarian & staff made all the difference. We were treated with such care and respect during one of the hardest moments we’ve ever faced. We will never forget the comfort and dignity given to our beloved dog and to our family. Fantastic experience: I appreciate Dr Carlsons knowledge of animal nutrition and her guidance of my cat’s care. She always has reasonable suggestions that are pertinent to my cats. I trust her assessments and approach.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Carlson is AMAZING! She is so good with all 3 of my cats but I continue to be impressed with how understanding she and the techs are with my extra spicy cat who unfortunately has issues with tooth resorption and needs a full dental exam at least annually (sometimes more). She has been so good about giving recommendations (& prescribing meds) to help make the process of getting said kitty to the vet as non-painful/stressful as possible. She also makes me feel very involved in my all cats' care overall and is very good about discussing all my options. I definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and knowledgeable veterinarian.

Fantastic experience: The vet we had was so kind and caring. Even though we did t get to bring our sweet girl home. She really made us feel somewhat better. You never would be 100% after doing that. But she went peacefully and with a belly of no no’s. They had quite a few snacks out. She had a hoho. It is expensive to go there though. Definitely broke the bank. But great care!!!

Fantastic experience: I’ve always had a great experience taking my dog here. Been there a couple times for ear infections/allergy management. I’m never picky about which vet I get so I’ve had 3 different ones so far and they’ve all been awesome. I feel like they treat my pet as their own with how caring and gentle they are.

Fantastic experience: All City Pet Care has the best Drs & staff they have always been top notch. I took Mercedes in for a wellness exam & Mystic in for rabies shot. I always have a good experience & we talked about what there weight should be at they are both big cats & what weight to shoot for. I would recommend All City to absolutely everyone.

Negative experience: I have had excellent care for all of my pets from All City Pet care for over 20 years, but their recent decision to force patients to use THEIR pharmacy for prescriptions, and that pharmacy's subsequent total lack of concern and no sense of urgency in taking ANY action to fill that prescription after having it more than 24 hours, and then going home for the weekend, means the Pharmacy my vet forced me to use so they can make even more money off of my dog's illness, won't even SHIP his HEART medication until the pharmacy has had the order at least FOUR DAYS. And if you include the two additional days delay because I ordered the medication from another pharmacy and the vet refused to approve strictly because they wouldn't get a "cut" of the sale, it's going to be a week. This greedy heartlessness of my vet and greedy ineptitude of their chosen vendor will have me choosing replacements for both. Disgusting.

Fantastic experience: Our senior kitty, Cleo, had to have a cardio evaluation to determine whether she could safely be anesthetized for some dental work. Dr Heidi Hanson did the procedure and called me with the results within a fairly short time. She cleared Cleo to be anesthetized, with the proviso that anesthetics appropriate for senior cats should be used. Cleo is always handled very kindly by the staff at ACPC, and this was no exception. We’ve always been very satisfied with the care our cats have received there.

Fantastic experience: We visited in the evening for our basset Rosie and her intense back pain. Waiting room is comfortable. Staff interacted with pets and were very professional. Despite it being quite busy and a few major emergencies coming in, the Dr. was very attentive and present in our appointment. Did not just rush through and rush us out the door which is nice. We are very pleased with the experience. Important to be aware at night especially the wait times can be hours long as they classify each case for severity. Important they do this but be aware to bring a book or phone as they do not offer magazines.

Negative experience: Got my cat an x-ray that I paid 250 for , The veterinarian said it wasn't bad and she should be headed into a healing state (hopefully) And made me pay for medicine and fluids Took pictures of the x rays , Went to my personal veterinarian the following morning , Just to be told that the X-rays were a bad bad sign of blockage and internal damage , And that everything they had done for my cat was complete nonsense This place needs to be audited !!! And checked for Liscense , Truly a crap job , Cat did not make it Thanks ❤️

Fantastic experience: We have gone to All City Pet Care South for a few visits now and they have always been great. My dog is Not A Fan of going to the vet, but the staff at ACPCS has always been very patient with him.

Negative experience: I had to take my mixed breed 14 year old dog in when she had quick onset trouble standing or walking. It occurred late in day so did not go to regular vet. They did not diagnose the problem and gave no advice for her care. They did quickly relieve me of $500. I called her regular vet the next day and was immediately given the likely diagnosis, treatment and how she would likely progress to normal within two weeks if not sooner. The issue is called vestibule disease and she quickly returned to normal in only a few days. No thanks to All City.

Fantastic experience: Fast appointment with a vet who spent a lot of time explaining the procedure and expectation for outcome. Fantastic service.

Negative experience: We’ve been there twice in 4 years. The first time we left after 1.5 hours of sitting in the waiting room. Second time we went there was no other clients there. It took over an hour to get us into a room, another hour to have our dog seen, and then another hour before she was taken back. For $150 just to walk in the door and another $250 for a local and 4 staples, very disappointing. We have two family members that are vet and vet tech for years (out of state) and said that’s unacceptable pricing and length of time. They know they have you where they want you and they simply abuse that fact.

Fantastic experience: This place OMG there are angels out there who truly see the beauty in animals and there values my dog jiffy had a problem he was liquer no matter what

Fantastic experience: This is my first time owning a pet and I was really concerned about her behavior and the expenses of having her seen ( google told me it would be over 1000 bucks!) but they were kind and gentle with my spicy kitten and were very clear and upfront about costs the whole way through which took a major weight off my chest! On the drive over Millie completely recked her cardboard carrier and they were nice enough to let me take her home in an extra bag they had there! A thousand thanks to All City Pet Care for making this trip fast, affordable, and worry free!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Carlson and staff are excellent! Our senior dog Bentley is receiving their new Laser Therapy for allergies, skin, arthritis, etc. He is definitely feeling relief and his fur coat has greatly improved. Thanks for your service!

Fantastic experience: Brought my dog in for an emergency. We had to leave him overnight on an IV. They took great care of him and even called to give us updates. They allow you to call/visit anytime. Very thankful for the care they gave our dog. Dr. Heidi was wonderful!

Fantastic experience: I live in a small rural town that is not able to provide extensive emergent services. It was a Sunday when I had to take my dog in for breathing issues. Turned out he had an abscess way back in his throat that wrapped up around a tonsil and was basically closing his throat. The trip was stressful, the dog was stressed, and the staff was so calm, cool and kind. They roomed us immediately and took excellent care of my animal. Turner ended up staying 2 nights, and someone made sure to communicate with me several times each day, thoroughly updating me to his condition. When I finally was able to pick him up, it was an evening pickup and the tech who released him was excellent with the discharge making sure to cover every single detail before we left. 10 out of 10 would recommend this clinic

Fantastic experience: The staff here are extremely kind and thorough. I brought my dog here after spay complications (spay was done by another vet office) and they were amazing. I highly recommend this vet. The staff are amazing people who do their best in incredibly challenging situations. The staff treated my dog Willow like one of their own. I appreciate their kindness and care during a very stressful and scary time. They were very thoughtful and gave me great advice, my dog is recovering thanks to them!

Positive experience: We had to take our bulldog Luna in on Friday due to her coughing frothy blood up and struggling with her breathing. The staff were very quick and respectful. The doctor we worked with listened to my wishes and explained everything by as best he could. He answered all the questions I had at that time. The reception staff and billing staff were very kind and respectful to us as well. Unfortunately Luna, was suffering and we made the very difficult decision of euthanizing her. I appreciate the time we were given and thoughtfulness during the whole process. Yes it was spendy but honestly what do you expect for an ER vet clinic and all the things they had done. It was devastating and traumatizing to lose her in such a short time, but I am thankful I went with my gut feeling and headed to All City Pet ER right away. Thank you all for your empathy. Fantastic experience: I cannot praise these wonderful people enough. This is the third time these amazing doctors and technicians have saved the lives of our pets. Five and a half years ago our Olde English ate a Chenille bathmat. He needed surgery to remove all the string from his intestines, odds were not good. He’s 7 and still a pain. Lol. Last year, our 8 yr old English Bulldog got ARDS and survival rate for bulldogs is less than 1% and they saved her!!! Last week our new 7mo old EB had the scariest episode ever! I thought it was a seizure but she was not breathing. We rushed her to them, it turns out she has congenital megaesophagus. She was barely alive when we got there and now she’s home! We’re learning how to live with a special needs puppy, but they were great educating us and we feel confident our girl will live a long life. They have been there for us when our pets have passed on as well, over the last 30 years. They are caring and patient when the time comes to say good-bye. If you need them, there is a service not affiliated with them called Care Credit that can help you pay for your bill. Our family cannot thank them enough! Here’s a photo of our megaesophagus pup who will need to be fed and watered in an upright position and then stay that way for 20-30 min. each time for the rest of her life so gravity can help her esophagus work.

Fantastic experience: Got a phone call in a timely manner regarding our senior dog not feeling well. Temporary med for nausea was prescribed and we got an appointment for follow-up a couple days later. Good experience with Dr Klatt, as usual. We felt reassured after the tests were done, she reviewed them with us and we made a plan for several months out.

Fantastic experience: Our family had a great experience at ACPCVEH. When our vet, who we trust very much was not able to provide a service we needed for our dog, we were directed to them. Everyone was very helpful, kind and patient waiting for our dog to regain consciousness. The doctor also shared her personal experience on a situation she went through with her pet...which was very much appreciated.

Negative experience: Absolutely awful! My dog was having a very bad allergic reaction and they let us sit in a room for about 2 hours just waiting before even given any type of medication or starting any type of treatment. Then when the dr did finally come in she said it took so long cause we weren’t an emergency. If that was the case send me home instead of making me sit for 2 hours and I could continue treating her at home. I would rather trust Google than go back to this place. Unacceptable care

Negative experience: Money grab. Your animal will have to be near death before they will see you.. and it sounds like it could still be a 2-5 hour wait. We had to pay $150 to get on the waiting list , waited for 2 hours in the car before they came a did a parvo test, waited another 30min before getting to a room where they did a quick 5 min check, then waited another hour and half in the room with no updates, went to talk to the front desk to get a update and they told us it could be anywhere from 2 to 5 hour wait yet. They told us that since they were a triage ER they would take higher priority first, which i understand.. but after seeing how low of a priority we were we left and will take our dog to a actual vet in the morning. As we were leaving we noticed a sign on the door that said " if you bring your pet to us in critical condition, you will have to pay $500 before being seen" if you are taking in that kind of money HIRE MORE STAFF!

Negative experience: We were made to wait an exceptionally long time (hours) without anyone checking on us or even explaining anything to us as to what was happening (yes, I realize it's a triage hospital, but a word of explanation would have been great). The staff was nice and friendly when we were seen eventually. Also, the malady we went in for was not treated- we were just told to go to our primary. We left just feeling very ignored and disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Last Thursday my dog Apollo suddenly vomited, and I rushed him to All City Pet Care South & Veterinary Emergency Hospital thinking it might be GDV. The staff were amazing — very professional and understanding. They knew exactly how to handle a sensitive dog, gave him space, and welcomed him warmly. He even seemed to fall in love with them! Thankfully, it turned out not to be serious, and he recovered quickly. I’m so grateful for their care!

Fantastic experience: It’s always hard when your fur-baby needs emergency services but when you do-All City is the place to take them! I have labs that are my world and have had more than one instance where they needed after hour care- the staff at all city goes above and beyond! Luckily this time it was a minor injury but it made my baby sick and I wanted to say thank you for caring so much and taking great care of him. He’s feeling much better now!

Fantastic experience: In a very life threatening situation for my tiny young pup, All City staff and docs jumped on the problems, diagnosed, treated and maintained health safety until he was ready to return home. I took my pup there because they saved my cat from a wild animal attack 2yrs prior. I vet with them now on well-animal health routines I continue to take make furry family to AllCity south. They are Great! Wouldn’t go anywhere else. Emergency or routine, they are the BEST.

Fantastic experience: I have had three emergency situations with my pets necessitating a fast trip to the emergency vet. All City has always been amazing. We were seen quickly. Necessary tests were thoroughly explained and any options for treatment were presented. Every treatment was proceeded by a complete estimate. The doctors, techs, and staff are incredibly competent and compassionate. We’re lucky to have such a facility.

Fantastic experience: Excellent evidence based medical care by a professional and caring vet and staff. Reasonable prices especially for retired people who want a pet!! Since coming here for my pet female cats care, I am thrilled to tell you Missy has put on weight (thats to the vets recommendation I feed her fish) and her thyroid number is improved. I truly appreciate the care Missy is receiving.

Fantastic experience: When our cat Louey wasn't eating or drinking or pooping and our vet didn't have time to see him, we took him here. We were treated with compassion and kindness and empathy by everyone there. There was great communication explaining what was going on with him and our options. We didn't feel rushed at all. We didn't get the outcome we were hoping for, but we appreciate all the support and kindness we were given. Thank you all so much! I would recommend this ER to all. This wasn't the first time we needed this ER and each time they were there.

Negative experience: The lack of compassion and unprofessionalism I encountered here on top of an already traumatic experience was terrible. Brought a 5 week old unresponsive kitten to be seen, she was taken back immediately. The receptionists then begin to giggle and make jokes that they entered her into the system as a turtle instead of a cat. I was told to wait until they had an update. The receptionists then continued to giggle and whisper, completely tone deaf and unsympathetic to those waiting in the lobby. I was then called to the back and told our kitten was in critical condition, gave the okay to perform CPR. Within a few minutes, I hear the vet on the other side of the door say to someone "she said she came home and the kitten was unresponsive, like seriously?", then the vet enters the room to tell me the kitten had passed. How heartless and unprofessional for you to talk about pet owners on the other side of the wall and suggest that my kitten wasn't taken care of or I was lying about how I found her unresponsive. The vet then tells me her tech will be in to go over my options. As soon as she walks out, the tech walks in and hands me a paper and says here's your cremation options. That's it??? Here's my options you can pay and go?? To top it off, I had my partner go to pay the bill and the receptionist repeats back the kittens name and acts confused on what were paying for, and asks if the kitten is staying overnight? Unbelievable. Very unfortunate this is the only local ER vet and everyone from the front desk to the vet were so compassionless. I understand the severity of the things they see and deal with on a daily basis, but there was no excuse for that treatment towards owners. Devastated and disappointed by this staff, do better.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Brent Toth was great and we are so thankful for his gentleness and caring demeanor towards our dog who was experiencing severe pain due to what we found out is most likely bulging discs in his back/neck. Dr. Toth sat on the floor with our dog, Wrigley, and examined him and helped us understand what was going on and could be causing his pain along with giving us a care plan and prescribing medication to help with the pain. The rest of the team at the ER vet was great as well! We are so thankful we were able to get in quickly and get answers and treatment for our pup so we can get him feeling better as soon as possible! Fantastic experience: All City Pet Care made the worst week of our lives tolerable with their care and hospitality. Dr. Hanson and Dr. Heitmann were class acts that helped us through this very tough time. Dr. Heitmann called and gave updates on our dog that really helped put us at ease.

Fantastic experience: It has taken me almost a week to find the words to recount my experience with All City Pet Care on South Minnesota. Last Sunday, I had to make the very difficult decision to lay my dog to rest. I had 15 wonderful years with her, and the quality of life was fading very fast. The staff at All City did not hesitate when I arrived at 4:30pm on Sunday afternoon. The staff was very calm and supportive from the moment I walked in. They did not make me stand in front of everyone holding my dog to fill out paperwork, they immediately found a room for me to be with my dog in her last hour. They took down my information in an examination room and then gave me time with Brandy. They took her back for a short 2 minutes to place the needed line for what was to come and then they let me sit with her. Dr. Heidi came in with a very caring presence (I am certain that they go through this procedure a lot) and she explained what was going to happen. They whole staff went above and beyond to take care of me and my best friend! They are the most caring wonderful people and I appreciate them all for what they did for me. If you ever have to make the tough decision on the pet in your family, I would not hesitate to take your pet to these fantastic people. They have a very difficult job when the time has come to this and yet they make the process a little less difficult. None of these wonderful human beings had ever seen me before in my time in Sioux Falls. They had never seen my dog for any type of check-up or annual vaccines. They made the most difficult choice I have had to make in my life a little easier. You all make a difference in the lives of pets and the people they choose to let take care of them while they are here. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I have an incredibly anxious dog who had a minor but painful injury over a weekend. I didn't want to risk infection, so we came here. The staff listened when I warned them that my dog's fear would likely equally match the pain. It seemed that they did everything they could to keep my dog safe and calm during the short procedure. Funny side note - When the vet tech came in to get my dog for the procedure, she reached out to give him a treat. My thought was "he is way too terrified to take a treat. The only thing he MIGHT eat in this moment is freshly cooked chicken." (Note: cooked chicken is sometimes the only thing we can get him to eat when he's having a mentally rough day.) A second later, the vet tech reached out and gently put a piece of chicken on the floor in front of my dog. My husband and I looked at each other in disbelief. It was a comical moment but in my opinion also shows that All City cares about the animals they're seeing. It still was not a fun day, but my dog is now recovering well!

Fantastic experience: We used their emergency services a week ago for a twisted stomach in our Great Dane, an occurrence that is always fatal without surgical intervention. Every minute counts. This clinic, and every person in it that we encountered, was top notch. All of the staff were kind, caring, polite, and went the extra mile for us. Our dog had to stay at the clinic for a few days, and every 12 hours the veterinarian assigned to our dog, called us with an update. We were also encouraged to call any time if we had questions, or wanted to check on our girl. Our dog received excellent care at this facility, and our final bill was less than the estimate - always a nice surprise. I highly recommend them - -110%!!

Fantastic experience: We were sent here from our vet in Sioux Center IA for surgery to remove a mass on our dog. Unfortunately, after a CT done here we discovered it had metastasized too far and there really wasn’t more to do so surgery was cancelled and we went home to do palliative care on our beloved lab. I just have to say though, Dr. Heitmann and the team treated us with the utmost care, compassion, and empathy during this incredibly devastating discovery. I also never felt rushed once, and they were a very busy clinic. If I could give them a 10/5 I would. Our experience was really the best and I would trust them again in the future with any needs. I could also tell Dr. Heitmann was incredibly experienced in his work and honest which made the decision making easy and comfortable during a hard time. Communication was also extremely great, they made sure to explain in detail to us what was happening for procedures and then again in great detail the results and I felt heard with all of my concerns and questions. I will say, yes we paid a lot for our visit, however our dog got a full exam and CT scan. CT scans can cost thousands for humans. Emergency care cost more for humans as well, most hospitals charge extra just to walk into an ER. In my opinion you can’t put a price on the quality of care and compassion. So I would say if you’re a person who relies on reviews, try to take the bad ones for this place with a grain of salt. I would suggest to any pet owner to invest in pet insurance, it saved us with our dog’s cancer diagnosis!

Fantastic experience: I couldn't have asked for a more professional, gentle, passionate and overall kind establishment to take my English pointer, my hunting partner, my best friend in his time of need. When it was time for Oliver to go hunt in the big house in the sky....all I can say is thank you to the man upstairs for gracing us with the professionals at all city pet care. Fantastic experience: My dog received excellent care. This was my first visit here so I didn't know what to expect but I am totally happy with the staff and doctors and how they took care of us.

Negative experience: Brought our dog in and was lethargic and could barely walk. First thing they said was it looked like THC poisoning, then the interrogation began, before doing bloodwork. Interrogated by technician and vet. Made us feel like some kind of criminal. No THC by the way. I wouldn’t take a goldfish to these people

Fantastic experience: This is not our typical vet. However, this evening our baby Brunocerus was hit by a vehicle. We got him to the only vet we could think was open after trying our vet along the way. The compassion and love we felt during the time we were here was beyond what I could honestly have imagined. I didnt expect it to hit this hard or to look like such a crazy doggy mama at the end of his days. Things obviously will hurt us for awhile but my husband and I came home with one positive. Our experience has definitely made us reconsider our future care for our other pets. They really did treat him and us like family! Thank you soooo much! Love, Bruno's family.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Carlson takes very good care of my 11 year old tabby cat, Pete. He can be quite a handful, and I can get pretty emotional at the vet....so I appreciate everybody's patience at the clinic. Thanks for all of your help with Pete the last few months. We appreciate you!

Negative experience: The staff were friendly and nice but their services are lacking and it seemed more like a sales pitch rather than quality care. My dog was feeling lethargic and trouble even walking, after paying 150 dollars for a five minute examination, and the doctor said we could do a 600 dollar blood test to see what’s wrong or a X-ray which I believe was also 600 dollars I declined because I don’t have that kind of money so they followed up with a shot and almost 400 dollars worth of meds, I believe was a pain pill, antibiotic, a probiotic, my dog seems worse but can’t afford to take him back. The doctor assured me he wasn’t dying but how can you know with a five minute examination!!!! I wouldn’t bring a dead raccoon here if I’m being honest

Fantastic experience: I was completely hopeless when my cat was in critical condition. Living 4 hours away from this hospital, I was worried about the long journey and if there was any chance to save him. But from the moment we arrived, the entire team acted so quickly and professionally. They explained everything in detail, reassured me, and provided the best care possible. Thanks to their expertise and dedication, my cat got a second chance at life. I can’t express how grateful I am for their kindness and support. If you’re looking for a vet who truly cares, this is the place to go!

Negative experience: Waiting for 3 hrs now. First 90 minutes, they had me wait in the car. I called to see if I could take my puppy home til it was our turn. They said it wouldn’t be long, they called me into a waiting room 20 minutes later and I have been in a room waiting an hour and a half. Already paid $150, so I’m stuck.

Positive experience: Good care and friendly staff, but poor communication. There was an excessively long wait to get started after we showed up to our appointment at the scheduled time and the procedure took far longer than expected, with no explanation or warning. We were told it would take 2 hours total, but it ended up being about 9. Our cat is doing well now.

Fantastic experience: We're very lucky to have a 24-hr emergency vet, and especially lucky to have an emergency staff that remain as kind, empathetic, and compassionate as they are given how busy they are saving animal lives. Thanks! As far as negative reviews go, remember that this is the veterinary equivalent of an emergency room, with similar triage/prioritization processes and cost.

Fantastic experience: Dr Klatt has been our vet through many pets. She helps us fully understand their health needs and is so caring. The other vets are great as we have sometimes needed urgent care and found them to be similarly helpful, knowledgeable and caring.

Negative experience: Called earlier in the day due to my cat ripping his catheter out, in tears asked for a price assuming it’d be a few hundred. I was quoted 3,000$. We hung up, and called into luverne, they quoted us 300$. I brought him in immediately, and they helped, it ended up being 233$. We called all city back asking to speak to a supervisor. ROBIN, refused to allow us to, and kept asking why?? DO BETTER, YOU OVERCHARGE, ALLOW PETS TO PASS IN YOUR CARE, AND YOUR STAFF IS EXTREMELY RUDE.

Fantastic experience: Everyone here is so professional and so kind and my pup is not afraid to go see the vet. We moved to Virginia and we miss this clinic! They are so kind and gentle with my dog, they don't man handle him in the exam room, they talk to him calmly and treat him with respect. Dr. Klatt is absolutely amazing. Thank you to everyone here, you truly are athe best!!!!

Negative experience: The girl working nights with black hair and glasses was really rude and inconsiderate when I was in obvious distress over my animal. I wasn’t rude or unpleasant either. I was turned away because I had a rat and didn’t realize they did not take that type of animal. I am not upset over that, I am upset over the fact I was obviously sad about my animal and she made me feel even worse by her attitude and comments towards my animal. My rat did end up passing.

Fantastic experience: We love working with Dr. Klatt!!! She has compassionately cared for our dogs since 2009! She is super knowledgeable! Highly recommended All City as all the veterinary care is 5 star.

Negative experience: I wish I could say that this was the only bad experience we’ve had with All City, but they have consistently let us down. Procedures come in almost twice what they estimate without explanation. Doctors and techs have been rude and disrespectful, including talking about their problems dating during a divorce while putting one of our dogs down. Every time they assure us they’ll take better care of us, and then somehow seem to do worse than the time before including that they’re our primary vet. We will never go back.

Negative experience: This is not an "emergency" hospital. A 3 hour wait time is not in line with what an emergency is. I understand having staffing issues, but I also suspect that because they're the only place that offers emergency care for miles, there's less incentive to do a good job. There was a dog with a visibly broken foot in the waiting room and even that dog's owner was told it was a 3 hour wait. They need to change their name until they figure out a way to actually offer emergency care within emergency time frames.

Fantastic experience: I went here with my baby Dolly and Dr.Julia Johnson and her team were outstanding they took care of her and got her feeling better. I went in with her having a seizure and i was heart broken but thanks to their friendly staff my baby is getting the help she needs. Thank you all so much you truly saved my family

Negative experience: **Update** All City has worsened my opinion of them even further. Their response shows their lack of resolve for issues presented to them AND they didn't bother to actually ask me how the phone call went when I was hung up on. There was no swearing, yelling, or rudeness, I didn't even get the chance to finish a sentence before she started talking over me and then hung up. The "rudeness" is coming from their own employees. With them not doing any real follow-up beyond this review, I would assume they didn't actually follow up on their sanitary issues either. Be very careful coming here, and certainly make sure it is an absolute emergency if you do! Even then, its unlikely they will be of any help unless they can rack up a bill of $600 or more. If you even mention worrying about cost or making sure each test is necessary, they seemingly turn cold and send you out the door with antibiotics, saying my dog seems fine. Aside from the massive bill, total lack of care, and lack of resolve for my puppy's situation (which was handled promptly with a phone call to my regular vet the next morning), this place is HIGHLY unsanitary. I watched the vet tech, with my own eyes, grab the thermometer from the drawer and immediately insert it into my dogs anus, without first sanitizing. And when removed, she grabbed a dry paper towel, wiped off the lubricant, and threw it back in the drawer. No sanitation required? No worry of spreading disease? I looked in that drawer after she left the room and there it was, the contaminated thermometer waiting for the next animal, just sitting on top of other OPEN medical supplies and equipment. I guess "sterile" is not a concern of theirs. The exam table was covered in other dogs fur and dried liquids, nobody bothered to wipe it down before examining my dog. I'm crossing my fingers my boy didn't bring home another sickness. But guaranteed, if he did, this is the last place I'd take him for treatment. To top off this whole experience, the receptionist hung up on me when I attempted to express some of these concerns! She just talked over me, telling me to call back Monday if I'm so concerned, and then hung up. This isn't my first bad experience with them, but I'll do everything in my power to make sure it's my last. As the not so friendly receptionist told me, I should go to Minneapolis the next time there's an emergency. One of the most expensive vets around with the least quality care I've ever seen!

Negative experience: I recently visited Sioux Falls to see family and friends, bringing along my dog Joey. During our trip, Joey became lethargic and started shivering, so I took him to All City Pet Care to find out what was wrong. We were seen by a vet within about 20 minutes, as there was only one other customer ahead of us. The office staff was very friendly and kind. However, I did have to pay $144 upfront to see the vet. I informed the vet of Joey's symptoms and mentioned that one of his eyes looked a little red. The vet examined him briefly and suggested that Joey might be experiencing allergies or anxiety but could run a $350 blood test to check for other issues. When I declined the blood test, the vet prescribed $70 pain medication and sent us on our way. The pain medication ended up being the only helpful part of this visit. Two days later, as we were heading home, Joey seemed to be getting worse, so I stopped at a veterinary clinic in Sturgis, SD. After a thorough 15-minute examination, the vet discovered that Joey had an ulcerated cornea (a scratch on his eye). The shaking and red eye were due to pain, not allergies, and the condition didn’t require a blood test to diagnose. The vet prescribed medication to prevent infection and promote healing. While I would rate All City Pet Care 1 star, the friendly staff and short wait time were positives. Although I’m sure there are competent vets at this facility, the vet who saw Joey seemed either to be having an off day or just didn’t care. After I voiced my concerns, they refunded the $144 fee for the initial visit. Three weeks later, I’m happy to report that Joey is back to his usual self and in good health.

Fantastic experience: Vet compassionate. Took very good care of my girl when she broke her leg. Was able to do surgery the next day. We were able to visit her anytime. Highly recommend. Receptionist was so sweet and had the best disposition. She was always smiling and welcoming. Actually everyone I met was like that but I dealt her the most.

Fantastic experience: All City Pet Care is absolutely amazing! The quality of care and expertise is above and beyond! All the staff and vets are professional and very kind! I have been bringing my pups to Dr. Carlson and Dr. Liza as our primary vet and they are both brilliant and compassionate! I have had to utilize the ER unfortunately and the vets are super kind that they have on staff! So glad our city has an ER!

Negative experience: i'm honestly surprised there aren't more negative reviews. we've been there a handful of times and it's never been great. the waits are ridiculous and they claim to "triage" but they never actually access your animal..... techs should be getting the initial assessment done for accurate triaging. customer service while you are waiting for hours on end is lacking and makes it a very hard experience.

Negative experience: We've been there twice for the same kitten today. First time sat for 2 hours waiting. We called first, while waiting 2 more people came in non emergency, yet we're the last one seen. The kitten was given a shot to stop vomiting. The kitten never stopped vomiting so they told us to rush the cat back and we wouldn't have to pay to bring him in, so we did. This time I went also. We waited another hour and a half. No one else there. 2more customers came in and were taken before us. Once we went in we were charged all over again. We came from out of town twice and was charged twice and nothing was done that helped. I hope your rich because that's all they care about. We were left broke for the rest of the month. Thanks ER South side. I feel robbed. Update on that kitten, I was able to keep him alive with the help of my family for a few days and a lot of Google questions on meds. He died. I was there when he realized he was going to die. Heartbreaker! Being honest is so hard for businesses. It's nice you're open but it would be better if you gave the truth and didn't keep dying babies there if you couldn't help them. Or make them wait until the next doctors shift so you wouldn't have to Honor the no repeat same day charge.

Negative experience: Many years ago I was able to take any of my animals in for an ER visit. Fast forward to 2024 and we are not able to receive any emergency care for any other animal than a cat or a dog. This is so unfortunate that other animals that may need care on the weekends or nights when something big comes up, have to hopefully hold on until Monday to be seen. This is absurd! We need more facilities that take any animal 24 hrs.

Negative experience: UPDATE: After sharing my traumatic experience with you two months ago, I was dismissed with the comment, 'we are unable to identify you as a client.' This response felt cold, automated, and showed a lack of genuine care. Yet, you later called me, encouraging me to schedule another appointment. I thought I wasn’t even in your system? ----- Not a good experience at all!! My dog (who is 8 years old and I just adopted at the time so this was my first scary experience) got into something toxic and couldn’t stand, hold his pee, and was puking profusely. I took him in for an emergency visit and not going to lie, I was pretty mentally unstable and devastated. I was so freaked out and scared, looking like an absolute mess crying Anyways, I had to take off pretty much a whole day of work to sit and wait for hours. Luckily I have a flexible work from home job, but my anxiety levels were through the roof as I waited. My dog was actively peeing, puking and falling over in the lobby and no one said anything. I was crying and had to awkwardly ask them if they had anything I could use to clean up their floor. All I got was a “we have wipes over there.” No help, no comforting, not a whole lot of emotion or care tbh. It just kinda left a bad taste in my mouth because I get they probably see this a lot and we’re not overly concerned, however working at a vet clinic, they know how emotional pet owners can get so you would think they would try to comfort you a little more. Sure, I could have been acting pretty dramatic in the moment but when your child is visible physical pain, it is so sad to watch. Finally after waiting in the lobby for 4+ hours, they said I was up only to wait in the room so another 45+ mins. He ended up being fine but I left with a hefty bill, massive headache and one less PTO day… but at least my baby was okay

Fantastic experience: Our dog went into renal failure while we were on vacation in South Dakota. He was hospitalized in Minnesota but our dog sitter was able to bring him to meet us at this clinic to say our final goodbye before letting him cross the rainbow bridge. The staff at All City Pet Care ER was extremely compassionate and understanding of our situation. They even mailed a sympathy card even though we are from out of state and hadn’t been to their clinic before. Highly recommend this clinic!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic place!! We were traveling and needed care twice due to a recent disease diagnosis at home for one of our dogs. The staff treated us so well and made us feel reassured and comforted. They were so accommodating and compassionate. You can trust this clinic!!!

Negative experience: I honestly left in tears-this place should be shut down. They would let your pet die without any care in the world! They just want money!!!! We came in because I feared my kitty had a urinary blockage which I was told over the phone that it can be fatal and to please bring him in. My husband and I brought him in and one of the ladies (younger with dark hair) had told us they "need to do a catheter right way is this okay?!" while my husband and I looked at each other wondering if this was a good idea or not, she grabbed him out of my hands and said she "needed him right away" in such a condescending tone and brought him back without any explanation. Couple minutes go by while we are trying to figure out payment--(we were tight on money until Monday and we were there on a Saturday)--would not accept our Care Credit card, nor a check and they wouldn't allow us any further care. She brought him back out swinging his carrier around carelessly, and said he wasn't blocked and what else we wanted to do. My husband asked what this meant and why he was having issues using the bathroom then? She said "We can't answer any of those questions until we get money". This place is actually awful. I understand to a point but did you need to treat my husband, myself and most importantly my cat this way?! If you do not care about animals and what happens to our babies then do NOT be in business.

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough good things about Dr. Fiedler and the receptionist here! Dr. Fiedler was incredibly compassionate and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain everything clearly and ensuring my dog got the best care possible. The receptionist was equally amazing, making the check-in process smooth and comforting us during a stressful time. Their professionalism and kindness made a difficult situation much more manageable. Highly recommend this team for any emergency pet care needs!

Negative experience: So disappointed in veterinary care for aging pets! There needs to be more education and better preventative care measures that don't cost thousands! The last couple years I've been trying to figure out why my cat wasn't himself /going #2 outside of the litter box. I've spent at least $1,200 with tests , x-ray, appointments.... and all I was told was.... he has digestive disease issues..... Now here we are 10 months later finding out my cat Dudley has liver disease and it's too late to do anything about it!! Makes you feel pretty defeated
